What To Do When Bored - Part One: Let`s have fun
Some of us are bored and stuck in the four corners of our room, with nothing to do. Being lonesome in the midst of boredomness, is no disgrace in your life. Keeping yourself entertained and diverted in times like this makes you feel energized and whole. As I browse the net, I made a list of fun things that you should consider while you sit back and enjoy yourself.
1. Play an interactive game. You tend to be so eradicated about not doing anything fun. Specially, when you are an active person. Regardless of you being techy, sporty, or even artistic. The modern technology caters everything from a to z. In addition to that, you can consider taking out all your boardgames such as: Snake and Ladders, Monopoly, Poker chips, Playing cards and etc.
2. Movie Listings. Consider yourself lying down the whole day. With nothing to do but stare blankly in the ceiling. Exploring the world of movies and entertainment. Downloading movie streaming applications, helps you to watch movies you missed in cinemas.
3. Music Streaming. With Spotify, you are most likely to download your favorite music, creating your own playlist and feeding your old soul with classic music.
4. Next Trip. Cancelled plans? Rescheduled appointments? No worries, planning your future after this will be busier than ever. You’re gonna open all slots in your calendar and mark it down. Planning your next trip out of town? Consider your financial status and capabilities. If everything is stable and you have some extra. Spend the dime and save the rest. Remember, your excess is not saving, but saving is what you initially have.
5. Stay fit.Working out and eating healthy is a way of maintaining an optimal bodily health status. Feeling lazy? Sweating and running out of breath? Well, we need to move our butts out. Being healthy is our natural way in fighting sickness. Don’t forget to stay hydrated.
6. Sports and Action.Televised sports are catered by local networks. You can also watch replays on social media and video streaming apps.
7.  Linguistics. As hard as it may seem, it can help you to ease boredomness. Believe it or not, learning a new language doesn’t make you on top of others, but rather embracing diversities in terms of their way of communicating. It can be useful too, especially when you have plans on travelling to countries with language barrier as a factor to consider.
I have here 4 tips on what and why you should know their language.
Tips:
• Greetings and Pleasantries. You should know how to greet them in a polite manner.
• Communicating food. Whenever you are in a restaurant where language barrier is most likely to be encountered. You should know the basic that may help you and the person taking your order.
• Directions. Familiarizing yourself with directions such as left, right, straight ahead and a lot more. This may help in taking you where you want to go.
• Currency. The part wherein you know how they count and… their pricing.
8. One-man entertainment. Netflix and Youtube is our place to be. Watching vlogs, stand-up comedians, concerts, fashion and music videos.
9. Tiktokerist. The term we use for people who uses the app, Tiktok. A group of creative, talented and artistic people who expresses their passion thru taking a video of themselves with a specific challenge and content.
10. Livestreaming. Having the guts of being a livestreamer? Entertaining your audience thru livestreaming. Expressing your own thoughts and catering it raw. No edits. No Filter. What app?
• KUMU. It is a Filipino livestreaming app that provides unending entertainment from various artists and streamers with an aim to connect people all over the world.
• UpLive Philippines. A new way to interact with people all around the world, you can actually earn money here. As long as you have the talent and the capability to entertain people.
11. Friends. Keeping in touch with your friends via Messenger, Instagram, Whatsapp, Viber and Telegram. Knowing what’s up and catching up. The feeling of being alone is nothing when it comes to connecting with your friends. These are the things you can do indoors. Note: Above mentioned are the things that are second best. Praying and having full devotion, wishing that this crisis will end is out topmost priority.

Cryptocurrency in Action: Gifto’s New E-Commerce Platform Live in Taiwan
CoinSpeaker Cryptocurrency in Action: Gifto’s New E-Commerce Platform Live in Taiwan
Despite the name, cryptocurrencies are very difficult being used in common day-to-day transactions. A large part of the issue is a lack of adoption among major retailers due to price volatility and the lingering reputation of scam ICOs, but even if that were not the case, convoluted exchange gateways ensure buying something as simple as a stick of gum would require myriad steps and multiple online platforms if one were to use a cryptocurrency. In 2019, Gifto is out to change that narrative with launch of its E-Commerce platform where goods from the top Taiwanese brands can be purchased with just the press of a button.
Anything from cheesecakes, tea, or gift cards from top Taiwanese brands such as Cheese Duke and Holiday KTV can now be purchased with Gifto (GTO) directly from the project’s innovative web wallet and website. There is never a need to visit an exchange, or set up a Coinbase account. As long as a user has access to their web wallet, then they have direct access to the store.
Tumblr media
The project is using its backing by Asia Innovations Group (AIG) in order to sidestep the convoluted exchange gateways that keep crypto out of the hands of the general market. By leveraging Uplive, AIG’s mobile live streaming product, Gifto is able to place its web wallet within the app and give 5 million Taiwanese Uplive users access to Gifto’s growing catalogue of E-Commerce offerings.
Gifto is also looking to untangle the web of processes involved when purchasing cryptocurrencies by providing a direct fiat gateway to GTO with ACE exchange in Taiwan. The team behind Gifto is taking advantage of Taiwan’s crypto-friendly market and crypto-friendly regulations to increase access to the token, as well as drive its usage. Along with ACE, this initiative includes Gifto’s strategic partnership with the Asia Blockchain Accelerator (ABA) in Taiwan, first government backed blockchain accelerator in Asia. By working alongside the ABA, Gifto is helping to tokenize services in multiple industries and build projects that generate real economic value. With E-Commerce now in place, Gifto is building a network of value in Taiwan that it expects lead to mass adoption in 2019.
Gifto is now in an elite class of tokens like Bitcoin, where real-world applicability has moved beyond the white paper and into the business of providing services for consumers. The market has responded enthusiastically to Gifto’s E-Commerce development, and Gifto’s profile has raised rapidly in trading volume and rankings. If 2018 was a warning that the crypto industry cannot be sustained on hype and speculation, then 2019 is the year that the industry must prove that behind all the noise is a revolutionary technology that can enable a more transparent, equitable, and fun exchange of value online. Projects like Gifto are leading the charge by providing cryptocurrencies that aren’t content to be passing curiosities, but are instead generating real economic value through tokenized services.

Crypto gamers stash over one million tokens in innovative staking challenge
The Gifto token community deposited 1.6 million tokens in an industry-first staking program in the hit blockchain game Giftomon, with the first million pledged in 24 hours after the announcement.
Guardians of Giftomon is a new, gamified staking model where users are rewarded for storing tokens in their wallet to unlock unique and powerful in-game items in Giftomon, the flagship game of Gifto. Users clearly resonated with the challenge, and over five days raced to store tokens to unlock the highest tier of rewards, with nearly 1.6 million tokens stored in the mad dash to become a Gifto guardian.
Giftomon’s in-game rewards are at the heart of why users were so eager to participate in the challenge. Based on how much gifto they stored, players could unlock anything from epic and legendary giftomon that allow them to dominate the arena, or Mcoins, an in-game currency that can be used to level up your giftomon and build the ultimate “mon” team.
The rewards system goes beyond Giftomon however, as participants are still able to use their stored tokens in the broader Gifto ecosystem, such as by sending virtual gifts to celebrities on Uplive like K-Pop star Amber Liu and WWE wrestling champion Matt Morgan, or giving customized gifts outside Uplive to content creators on Youtube like Crypto Lark. Users can even support their favorite contestants on the Bachelor Vietnam using Gifto.
Gifto is one of few tokens with a fully-functioning ecosystem based on usage, meaning that the token’s value comes from its utility. Guardians of Giftomon highlights this because even though participant’s wallets are stored, they are still able to engage in all dimensions of the so-called Giftoverse.
If we learn anything from this challenge is that hardcore fans of an addictive game will go so far as to stake their hard-earned tokens to get an upper hand on the battlefield. Giftomon is still in the early stages of its development cycle yet its already proven to be one of the most accessible and engaging blockchain games, borne out of Gifto’s commitment to fix what’s wrong with online entertainment, and is shaping up to be one of blockchain’s killer apps.
Check out this review from a Giftomon fan:”i missed the CryptoKitties MEOW!! and i missed the Cryptodogs WUFF!!.. but today i was so crazy to buy some Giftomons!”

What parents don’t know about what their kids are in for on live-streaming apps
SINGAPORE: As a teenager who uses live-streaming apps, she was alarmed to find her 10-year-old niece watching disturbing content on one such app one day: A person stripping in front of the camera.
The 18-year-old also came to know of a girl around her age who was asked to take off her clothes while using one of these apps.
Ms Koh, who declined to give her full name, is now deeply concerned about whether the app moderators are able to “moderate the live streams 24/7 (for) obscene and sexual content”.
She alerted the programme Talking Point to such activities on these apps, fretting that her niece may not know that online stripping is wrong.
READ: China busts live-stream porn app gang: Report
Live pornography, however, is not the only thing taking place on these streams. Teenagers are spending hours on these platforms, running the risk of giving out their details and being enticed by “virtual gifts” to do stuff in return.

And these apps, which let users broadcast whatever they are doing in their private space – whether it is idle chatter, singing or just their homework – are growing in popularity.
Globally, internet videos will command 80 per cent of consumer traffic by 2020, according to forecasts from Cisco Systems. In China alone, almost three-quarters of the 450 million Chinese watching videos online are live-stream users.
China’s top live-streaming celebrities can even earn more than US$700,000 (S$960,000) a year. That means their viewers, teenagers or otherwise, are not only watching but also spending on them.
As Talking Point discovered, after monitoring the popular sites for two weeks, there is more to the world of live streaming than meets the eye. (Watch the episode here.)
VOYEURISM MADE EASY
In Singapore, the top grossing live-streaming networks are not Facebook, Instagram or YouTube but apps like Bigo Live, 17 Live and Uplive, which boast features such as social networking, live video chats and trivia games.
“Baiwan Yingjia” or “Millions Winner”, an online quiz game by live streaming app Huajiao, is seen on a mobile phone in this illustration picture taken Jan 22, 2018. (Photo: Reuters/Florence Lo)
These apps have a recommended minimum age limit, for example above 17 on Bigo Live and 17 Live. On apps like YouNow and BeLive, however, it is 12 years old.
Live-streaming teenagers such as Kyra Yew, 18, and Ryan Francisco, 19, typically spend about three hours on such apps every day. The attraction lies in “meeting new people every day”, explained Mr Francisco.
They see live streaming as a means to expand their social circle, be part of a community and, sometimes, meet up in person besides online. They have, however, also had nasty encounters online.
For example, one guy exposed his genitals to Ms Yew, and a couple showed themselves having sex. Although this kind of streaming is not allowed, “the thing is, the administrators can’t stop what they can’t see first”, she said.
Mr Francisco, who encounters sexual content about twice a month, added: “We can’t do much (to control it) because … any Tom, Dick or Harry can stream whatever he wants. So it’s more of watching the stream at your own risk.”
From left: Live-streaming teens Letitia Koh, Kyra Yew, Ryan Francisco and Joel Tan, with Talking Point host Brendon Fernandez.
Talking Point host Brendon Fernandez saw for himself what happened on one teenage girl’s live stream while she was singing and doing her homework.
A viewer called her “baby”, asked for her number and, after being ignored, asked if she wanted to see his genitals.
UNAWARE PARENTS
So what are the streaming companies doing? M17 Entertainment said its technology can monitor content that users post, while BeLive – with about 500,000 registered users, of whom 60 per cent are Singaporeans – has a team moderating the content.
BeLive chief operating officer Ken Ang is not surprised that nudity and sexual acts occur occasionally.
“After all, it’s live stream; it’s raw content. So that’s the reason we have moderators to monitor 24/7,” he said. “We also develop our own image recognition tools (to detect nudity).”
Mr Ken Ang.
Bigo Live, too, has a team of “censorship officers” inspecting the streams. To further protect minors, it has a censorship function that uses artificial intelligence to scan for facial definition and determine the user’s age.
Most of the parents Talking Point spoke to were not aware that such apps existed, and many were troubled when they found out what the teens were exposed to on the live streams.
“This is very upsetting. You have people from all over the world who can access you … in your private space. This is something we need to find some solution to,” one mother said.
While one father was discomfited by those messages the children were getting from the “wrong people”, what struck another father was that some students were giving their location away by live streaming in school and wearing their uniform.
“People can easily pick up where you are. So it all smacks of danger,” he said.
That is a concern Ms Yew’s parents have also expressed, along with the warning that her live streaming should not affect her studies.
She said: “They’re worried that, potentially, if I share something about my personal life, it could backfire and harm me.”
READ: Commentary: Live life without having to prove it on social media
Live-streaming host Jo Ann Chen advised teenagers to be streetwise. “You can set your location to private so that people don’t know where you are,” she said.
“Don’t share your personal details and … where you’d be, if you don’t want to be stalked.”
MAKING MONEY FROM IT
Ms Chen, who is in her 20s, learned how to protect herself especially because live streaming is her full-time job.
Ms Jo Ann Chen.
She started last year and has a fan base of over 100,000 viewers, making money from the virtual gifts they buy for her.
These gifts, from students as well as working adults, range from a few cents to a few hundred dollars and can be redeemed for cash.
Ms Chen did not divulge her income from cashing out these gifts but disclosed that some of them may come with requests. Some people would ask her to dance, for instance, before they send her something.
“I don’t (do it) because I’m quite stubborn. So when they ask me, I’d just say I wouldn’t,” she said.
Former technology journalist Oo Gin Lee, who runs a public relations agency now, said he would be very cautious if his three girls, two of whom are teenagers, were to start using live-streaming apps.
While live-streaming technology is neutral, there is cause for concern, he said, drawing a comparison between these apps and sex webcams in the past, whereby the audience could pool their money for the woman to do things such a strip.
Mr Oo Gin Lee, the founder of Gloo PR.
“I’ve not seen anything like that, but I’m just saying that’s the kind of danger,” he added.
To monitor his children’s digital activities, he installed the parental control Family Link app on their mobile phones. It can set screen time limits, lock their devices and block apps until he grants an approval request.
Although parents could forbid their children to use live-streaming apps, the youngsters could find other platforms that are harder to monitor. The alternative? An honest discussion with them about precautions they could take, for example restricting location services.
Watch this episode of Talking Point here. New episodes every Thursday night.

GIFTO: Customization of Virtual Gifts for Content Creators
A new type of ‘fan economy’ is emerging with the massive popularity of live streaming and virtual gifts for fans to reward their favorite performers. To put this in perspective, the most popular show in the United States is NCIS, which pulled in an average of 14.6 million viewers in 2017. On the other hand, the most popular YouTube performer had more than 60 million followers throughout the year.
This trend with live streaming is gaining a head of steam in Asia, where thousands are quitting their day jobs to take their shot at becoming a live stream performer and going from rags to riches. And many are succeeding as an estimated 344 million people use live streaming apps in China, let alone the projections of 736 million across the continent.
Supporting this live streaming culture has sparked a new wave of virtual communities that are willing to pay performers by way of virtual gifts. Live streaming performers have found the secret to building online communities around their content, whether it’s music, videos, comedy, talk shows, game shows, etc. And the fan bases tend to be loyal supporters, spending real money to buy digital assets to gift to their favorite performers.
The fan economy built around virtual gifting is threatening to disrupt the revenue model for content producers and turn it into a highly profitable industry.
A broken model
Content producers primarily rely on ad revenue to support their endeavours in today’s online economy. And that’s before platforms like YouTube take their massive cut of 45% of ad revenue.
To demonstrate a typical scenario, YouTube content creators typically make between $1.50 and $4.00 per 1000 views. If a particular video goes viral and gathers 1 million views, it could bring in $4,000 in revenue for the creator, but again that’s before YouTube takes a cut.
When there are only about 0.3% of videos making it to the 1 million view mark, it’s a great model for YouTube, but content creators get the short end of the stick.
Why millennials prefer gifting
It’s no surprise that Millennials are driving the charge on virtual gifting. Millennials enjoy content that’s free of noisy advertisements, and the fan economy removes the ad revenue stream from the entire model.
Instead, fans purchase virtual gifts online and send them to the content creators they watch and enjoy. This can be anything from virtual flowers to virtual beer. Platforms like Uplive have gained incredible traction by offering virtual gifts for sale. Fans can use the platform’s currency to buy gifts, send to creators, or redeem for cash.
Fans are jumping onto the virtual gift trend because there is an emotional bond created with the content creator, as there’s usually some follow up interaction between the creator and the fan. Often, the creator will mention the fan on their live stream, creating further buzz for the community to send virtual gifts.
With live streaming in China alone becoming a $5 billion industry in 2017, there’s plenty of reason to start paying attention to this massive movement.
The main obstacle to success for a content platform like Uplive is that it’s a closed network. Virtual gifts and digital currency created for content creators is only relevant and usable on that content platform. So fans on Uplive aren’t able to send gifts to their favorite YouTube creators. On top of that, the issue of small fees for creators comes up again, where they only make about 25 to 40% of the revenue.
GIFTO Provides Ubiquitous Gifting
GIFTO - short for the gifting protocol - is a blockchain-based platform that aims to solve the main issues in the gifting model above. Seeing the huge gap with content creators, GIFTO’s platform looks to deliver a more fair and lucrative opportunity for content creators.
GIFTO allows users to create, curate, buy, sell and trade virtual gifts across any platform. The Ethereum-based ERC721 standard ensures that each virtual gift is unique, allowing content creators to make one-of-a-kind gifts for fans to purchase, sell and trade on the blockchain network.
For example, on Valentine’s Day, an artist created the Forever Rose using the GIFTO protocol. A group of 10 collectors paid $1 million to buy this virtual art piece. Even though the new owners aren’t able to touch the artwork or hang it in their home, their ownership interest is programmed in accessible blocks on the blockchain.
GIFTO Market Prospects
GIFTO sees itself in a unique market position as well, with a huge potential user base. Asia Innovations Group (AIG) is a backer of GIFTO, and already owns a series of live streaming platforms, including the previously mentioned Uplive. AIG currently sports a user base of 100 million users, bringing a lot of potential to the table for GIFTO.
Uplive, the incredibly popular platform, boasts 20 million users on its own, sending about 25 million transactions per month (more than 800,000 per day). Compare that to Ethereum’s blockchain network, which processes approximately 1 million transactions per day and has a $70 billion market cap. Uplive is currently in the process of transitioning their users from their internal currency over to GIFTO tokens.
GIFTO has been working with Uplive on testing a closed version of their system with the platform’s users. The next step is to introduce the open version on Uplive, and AIG eventually plans to leverage the GIFTO tokens across their 100 million users, on top of testing the token on major social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook and Instagram (totalling 4.3 billion users).
GIFTO’s Key Leadership
Andy Tian is the man behind the GIFTO blockchain project. Previously, he oversaw the roll out of Google’s Android software throughout China, built a popular gaming company in China that was bought by Zynga, then ran Zynga’s China operations for three years. Andy is skilled at driving usage and adoption of digital platforms.
In 2013 Andy left Zynga to start AIG, where he’s amassed over 100 million users and employs over 300 people around the world. Using the gamification concept, he’s been able to incorporate game-like features into something like a task to encourage engagement - i.e. the Facebook ‘like’ button. Now he’s bringing that concept to drive adoption of the GIFTO platform and token.
Andy has also formed a partnership with Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of leading crypto exchange Binance. This is crucial because Zhao used gamification marketing techniques to build a 6 million user base on the Binance exchange in six months. So Binance supporting the gamification marketing efforts of GIFTO could have notable effects on user adoption.
Final thoughts
GIFTO finds itself in a unique position with the fan economy building momentum throughout Asia. The man leading the charge has the background, experience and resources to make GIFTO a massive hit for the virtual gifting market.
The potential market is enormous for the gifting economy. Competing ideas and businesses have tried solving the problem through tipping content creators for their work. The primary hiccup in these solutions thus far has been getting users to change their regular habits like which live streaming platform they watch, or which browser they use.
GIFTO is becoming ubiquitous by testing their protocol on various platforms and becoming universally applicable and interoperable across content platforms. Fans find gifting much more rewarding than tipping, creating a meaningful experience with the content they are consuming. GIFTO appears to be on the edge of helping support the new wave of content Millennials we know and love.

. Okay okay, actually, I was wrong, I want to post a few more holiday photos. 🤣🙈🎄 . Every year, I usually make some new emoji art and turn it into a digital card that I personalize with each individual's name.🎄🎄✨ . I decided I wanted to post it on my IG. I tried sending it to as many people as I could, it was exhausting. 😩📲⌛️⏳ . If you didn't receive one, would like me to send you one with your name, just comment below with the exact spelling of your name or nickname that you prefer.😊 . #christmas #christmas2017 #christmastree #emojiart #emojis #iloveemojis #emoji #natale #holidayseason #christmascard #seasonsgreetings #christmaspirit #happyholidays #merrychristmas #cardart #digitalart #sillyart #sillyemojis #snowflakes #christmaslights #christmaspresents #buonnatale #xmas #christmasinLA #digitalartist #christmasart #holidaytheme #holidayart #creative #xmasart . . 📍LA/Beverly Hills, CA, USA 🇺🇸 . 🗓 Dec 2017 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 Instagram👸🏼: @Missi.Michelle Twitter🕊🕊: imissimichelle Snapchat👻: imissimichelle Musical.ly🎧: Missi.Michelle Tumblr 🎊: MissiMichelle YouTube 📺: MissiMichelle . .
