Dear Mumbo:

He is killing me, and I am beginning to think he knows it, and doesn't care. It's far worse from when I thought he didn't know. I wanted to think of us as friends, you know.

With each passing day, I am growing weaker still. I know, I know, you argued it was my fault, but I don't think you understand. Even if I hadn't gone and played with the mushrooms, I think I'd still be dying. It's something Scar's doing to the land. I'm in the shopping district more than most people; I practically live here part-time, with how much I've been expanding the Barge. And even before the mycellium, I was getting sicker and sicker and sicker. Ever since he became mayor.

You used to agree with me, but I'm done arguing. I don't know what it's done to your head. I don't know what it's done to mine.

And he's killing me. With every bit of the network he poisons and rips out, he's killing me. I know he knows it, now. I know you won't believe me. I just wanted someone to know. I wanted someone to know he's destroying the thing I did to keep myself alive.

I really wish you'd become mayor. Maybe then we'd just be hanging out with Grumbot.

Grian, I switched sides. You know I switched sides. You know why. I don't know if you should be sending me letters like this. I could tell Scar. I could tell anyone. I could make you go home and rest and let someone actually check out the fact you say you're dying. They would make you go home. We'd be able to actually fix the shopping district, you'd be able to rest, and Scar would be able to focus on more important things. You are still friends, I'm sure, once we fix this.

Dear Mumbo:

You won't. You're still a good enough friend to keep my secrets at least. Thank you.

Grian, Frankly at this point I'm not convinced you're not lying. Scar's a good mayor. He's done what he promised. It's not like either of us voted for me either; we both wanted the shopping district to be made prettier too. I don't understand why you're trying to make me come back like this. Please just come talk. We can fix this.

Update: I am now a ddvau fan. I just read through the comics and I absolutely love them, time to add another fandom (or sub-fandom?) to the list. I actually read this just to understand the whole Mother Spore thing, because I was seeing a lot of them (what are the pronouns??) on Tumblr and just got very very confused as to how Grian went from vigilante to... Whatever Mother Spore is. So anyways, read the comic, this is amazing. And I don't even ship Hermits. This is good even from someone who doesn't ship Grian and Scar. (Mainly because this is an au and I can separate the two realities but shush)

I do have a question regarding Cuteguy's design. Is the Watcher symbol above his head just a decoration or is this where he got his powers from? Is it just an homage to Watcher Grian or is it a hint at Watcher Grian sort of existing?

hi I’m rotating this mumscarian mycelium resistance au Real Hard rn. Okay? Okay. because I’m rotating, here’s some crumbs I’ve been thinking about:

- after scar wins the election, he invites mumbo to be his industry guy. his engineer. and no cub it’s not because mumbo is ridiculously handsome, how could you think that? :(

- grian kind of feels betrayed that mumbo went off and sided with scar :( like yeah they lost the election and neither of them voted for mumbo, but they lost together! and maybe grian’s a bit jealous that scar invited mumbo and not him as well

- meanwhile scar and mumbo are deffo flirting and they’re like “hey what if we courted grian since we both like him??”

- cue grian starting up the mycelium resistance as a way of getting scar and mumbo’s attention and if anyone asks it’s 100% about the principal, yes. he’s not starting a war because his two favorite people aren’t paying him enough attention, how could you suggest that etho >:(

- it starts off as this really fun thing, yk!! grian’s causing trouble, scar and mumbo are cleaning it up! there’s sheep everywhere!

- until it’s not so fun and…. Huh, was grian always covered in mycelium?

I want you to envision scar and mumbo celebrating the fact that they found the resistance hq before mumbo really takes a moment to think about his best friend and turn to scar, “was it just me or did grian seem really off?”

Red & Black All Time Low Hoodie

Was gonna take new screenshots of this one, but my SSD died, so. :) Had to get a new drive and I do have some backups but a month+ old so that's a problem I have to deal with, but you can still have these from last October when I was using Alex to complete the Strangerville storyline, so he was allergic to the spores and possessed. Forgive the bulge of his pants, it's not ideal but it's all I got. :v Based on a real hoodie I saw, but I also added more swatches to it, up to 14, just in case you want color variety. Why is this the only reference I can find of it now.

What do you know, another mlp thing I relate to Hermitcraft, this time We will stand for Everfree with the turf war from s7

Grian being Gloriosa, the nature being the Mycelium since it was there first rather then the grass mayor Scar added later (Scar would be painted like filthy rich, but he’s not 100% a villain either)

The rest of the resistance slowly realise Grian is going too far, and try to stop him before the entire server is covered in Mycelium.

Mycelium is a mushroom, mushrooms (aside the ones we usually eat) are bad to inhale, touch or consume. Grian was exposed to too much of it, and corrupted himself with it. That’s probably why HEP appeared.

(HEP is not clear of crime either however, they built an air polluting factory despite being an environmental protection agency)

We will stand for everfree is about Gloriosa trying to reclaim her camp by protecting it, trapping everyone inside. Grian wants this too, just with Mycelium
