Hello there, hope your having a great day. Would it be okay if you were to write headcanons of Mari and Hero tickling their respective little brother’s, I think that’d be really adorable. (By that, I mean Hero tickling Sunny and Mari tickling Kel, I think the latter’s friendship is very underrated.)

Wahhh thank you!! I hope you're having an awesome day too!! And YES YES this prompt is so cute !! I agree I hardly see anyone talk about Mari and Kel as a pair. I took inspiration for some of these ideas from a similar one that @kanene-yaaay wrote abt Mari and Hero swapping brothers :D

Also erm. I kindddd of got carried away,,,, this is like 2k words HSJDBDJSH

-Ok so. The idea of Mari tickling Kel while Hero tickles Sunny next to her is SO SO cute because like. Both of their little brothers will be giggling in their laps, and as much as Kel wants to protest he really isn't fully trying to get away so he's definitely having fun (Sunny couldn't try to get away if he wants his body like shuts down when he's being tickled and all he can do is sorta squirm around and curl into himself but they know he’s def having fun too)

-And ofc the two of them have different tickling styles and know exactly how to get their younger siblings bc. Siblings things

-Some more context hcs, I imagine Sunny's worst spots are (in order): neck/collar bones and BEHIND HIS EARS DUDE, the place where his lower ribs meet his back, and knee/underneath his knee

-For Kel it goes armpits, hips (he shares this with Hero teehee), and then specifically the pads of his feet

-Mari is naturally a pretty gentle but merciless tickler

-Like. First of all her fingernails aren't super long but they're very well taken care of bc piano and she likes painting them

-Second, her fingers are NIMBLE like she literally plays the piano on ur body it's actually so weird bc it's unpredictable to the lee but she's following her own little pattern

-Also her fingers are actually somewhat calloused from over-practicing which makes gentle tickles a bit more effective (bc I said so)

-Also x2 she is an expert in gentle tickling and squeezing, which makes her the perfect ler for Sunny

-Don't get me started on her teasing. Shivering in my boots rn.

-As for Hero!! He is definitely not as elegant or nimble, a bit more sloppy

-Also bc he's Hero his fingers are actually not calloused at all… stupid pretty boy /aff

-He's def better at slightly rougher tickles, mainly bc he grew up tickling Kel and that kid has far too much stamina like u gotta work hard to tire him out

-Dw he can also be gentle and teasy Sunny is in good hands

-Mari has a different teasing style for Sunny vs Kel, and Hero kind of does too

-For Sunny she's still playful but like. A little gentler, like she doesn't make fun of him it's more so "What's wrong, does it tickle little brother? Hehe!" stuff and "I forgot how much you love this spot! So cute!"

-For Kel however, she's def a little more "teasy" in a poking fun sense, saying stuff like "If you're not ticklish, then why are you laughing so much! Did I say something funny, hm?" and "Keep squirming so much and the Tickle Monster's gonna get angry~"

-As for Hero, he's not much of a teaser tbh he likes laughing w his lee and it just makes him smile tickling some1 he is SO silly

-Kel is like the only exception he can be so mean and teasy w Kel he loves to build anticipation with him and use those silly nursery rhymes and stuff that embarrass Kel so much but successfully make him gigglier so

-W Sunny he's how he normally is tho, he's def the most gentle w Sunny since the boys have known Mari and Sunny the longest and Hero sorta sees him as another little brother

-While Hero doesn't tease, he does like praising

-He'll say stuff like "Wow Sunny, you're doing so good! You're hardly squirming." or "It's okay, you can hide your face if you need." w his warm smile and he is so !!!! I love this man.

-SO. Brother exchange time

-This game usually happens when Kel and Sunny end up getting into some shenanigans (Sunny is usually dragged along but it's okay bc he has fun)

-For example: Kel convinces Sunny to help him mess with Hero while Sunny and Mari are over

-So Kel starts taking things from Hero's side of the room when he's downstairs with Mari, like pens, a cookbook, his pillow, etc.

-And he hides em somewhere like under his bed

-When Hero comes upstairs to get them and notices half his shit is missing he's like. "KEL!! Where are you!!" And he searches around but can't find him or Sunny

-(They are hiding in Kel's parents room behind the bed and Kel is trying not to giggle which in turn causes Sunny to bite back small snickers)

-Mari hears the commotion and comes upstairs, Hero explaining what happened, and now Mari is feeling playful which is rubbing off on Hero

-She goes "Boyyyyys! We know you're around here!" bc they would've seen them go downstairs so

-The older two search the upstairs, calling out the younger two's names in teasy sing-song voices

-Until they make it to the parents room. And they know they've gotta be in there somewhere, plus there's not many places to hide

-So Hero slowwwwly opens the door, him and Mari walking in quietly

-He gets down to check under the bed, and sees the legs of the other two who are hiding behind the other side of the bed, and he silently motions there to Mari and she nods her head, grinning

-Mari goes "Awww man Hero, we can't find them anywhere! Where could they have gone?" all dramatic, causing the younger boys to muffle more tittering because she's being silly!!!

-Hero goes "Gosh, I don't know Mari! And they have a friend here to visit them too!"

-The two hiding perk up, and Mari catches on, going "Oh, and who might this friend be? I wonder if I know him!"

-"You definitely do! He's Kel and Sunny's favorite friend. His name is the Tickle Monster!"

-The trap has been set. Without thinking, Kel shouts "The tickle monster is NOT my favorite friend!!" Before slapping his hands over his mouth and making eye contact with a wide-eyed Sunny

-But it's too late, and Kel peeks over the bed to see the two older siblings shooting them menacing grins

-However the door behind them is still open, and Kel is pretty fast so...

-He grabs Sunny's hand and tugs him up with him, shouting "Run for it Sunny!!" And attempting to bolt out the door with him

-Except they were expecting this, and Mari catches Kel around the waist and scoops him up making him let go of Sunny's hand

-Sunny def can't run as fast, and he shrinks back when he drops Kels hand and looks up to see Hero playfully smiling down at him, wiggling his fingers like "claws"

-All Sunny can do it let out a quiet "Ah-! as Hero reaches forward and picks him up around the waist too

-Mari giggles as Kel tries to thrash around in her arms, going "Put me down put me down put me dowwwwn!! I don't WANNA see the tickle monster!!" (<- lying he literally provoked them bc he was bored)

-She goes "Aww, but he wants to see you, Kel!" and squeezes one of his ribs slightly to get a snicker out of him

-They are carried to Hero and Kel's room, the older two sitting on the floor with each other's brother in their lap

-Sunny is already sorta curling in on himself w Hero's hands around his waist, and Kel is once again squirming up a storm as Mari has a firm grasp on him (she is stronger than she looks)

-Now shenanigans begin MWAHAHAHA

-Mari looks at Hero and goes "Hmmm, your brother is looking a little different today. Are you sure you've got the right one?" In a silly acting voice

-Hero replies "Of course I do! I would know my ticklish brother anywhere!" (Kel is giggling from the antics and he goes "HERO!! Shut up!!" While Sunny is smiling softly but excitedly)

-Mari goes "If you say so!" And starts wiggling the tips of her fingers into Kel's ribs, using a tad more force than she would with Sunny

-Kel yelps and falls into his high pitched boyish laughter. It's all giggly and filled with empty protests as he squirms around, kicking his feet and throwing his head back onto Mari's chest as he laughs

-Meanwhile Hero sneaks his hands under Sunny's t shirt and starts dragging his fingers around his lower ribs, causing the younger boy to gasp and puff out his cheeks like he usually does, curling in and squirming side to side while his shoulders bounce lightly from the giddy laughter that won't quite come out

-Mari moves to Kel's stomach, squeezing the little bit of pudge that's there and above his hips, sending ticklish shocks that cause his laughter to transition into louder cackles and snorting

-She goes "Now wait a minute, I don't remember Sunny's stomach being this ticklish…"

-That actually draws a few giggles out of Sunny, and Kel goes "Mahari!! I'm Kehel!!"

-(They are being ignored)

-Hero plays along, going "Hmmm, I don't remember Kel's neck being so ticklish either..." as he skitters his nails lightly around Sunny's neck, making him scrunch up and let out a proper "haHA-!" Laugh b4 falling into silent giggling again

-"And look! Sunny's armpits weren't this ticklish either!" Mari says, and she has to raise her voice slightly bc Kel's laughter turns into louder cackles as she massages her thumbs into the spots right below his armpits which is so bad for him, like he literally just throws his head back and babbles out nonsense as his arms glue to his sides and he kicks his legs frantically

-Meanwhile again, Hero has moved to flipping Sunny around so his face is buried in his chest, Hero gently tickling the spot where Sunny's lower ribs and sides meet his back, making him snort quietly and fall into soft, hiccupy silent laughter

-"But if that's not Sunny, then who could it be!?" Hero says dramatically, watching as Mari gives Kel a break to catch his breath

-Kel is still in a fit of giggling, but he goes "Ihihi'm Kel!!"

-Mari gasps dramatically, and Hero continues "If you're Kel, then where is Sunny!?"

-Sunny snorts into Hero's chest again, gripping into his shirt as he mumbles "Hehero, Ihi'm right here!"

-Hero moves back to tickling around the back of Sunny's neck now and behind his ears after giving him a small break too, while Mari starts squeezing Kel's ribs again but softer this time

-Mari goes "Oh man! It looks like we accidentally exchanged brothers... how silly of us!"

-Hero nods and goes "Let's switch back!" and the two stop their tickling while the younger ones relax and let out the last of their giggling

-Mari and Hero gently swap the boys in their laps, and both rub soothing shapes into their brother's backs, watching their breathing slow as the adrenaline wears off and the sleepiness hits them

-The older two glance at each other and smile softly, standing up and carrying the two to Kel's bed, laying them down next to each other and pulling the sheets over them as Hero ruffles both of their hair gently

-The boys are quick to fall asleep from all that tickling and Mari quickly runs downstairs to get two little apple juice boxes to leave at the bedside table for them

-Hero and Mari then walk over and sit on Hero's bed, Hero pausing before smacking his forehead and going "I forgot to ask where he hid my stuff!"

-Mari starts laughing, before interlacing their fingers (which causes Hero's heart to skip a beat... or two) and going "Don't worry, we can ask when they wake up."

-Hero's cheeks are still pink as he reaches over and grabs one of the things from his desk Kel didn't hide, that being one of the Captain Spaceboy comics he had lying around.

-The two start reading through it together for fun, pointing things out and laughing quietly and talking about anything while their younger siblings sleep soundly in the bed across the room

in my fic writing era i love writing it's my new passion friendship ended with drawing i'm never drawing ever again

#trying to get back into randomly talking to myself on my blog bc i've been too quiet these past few months oops #i've also been in this slump for probably the same length of time. hm. anyway #since i haven't been drawrin i somehow ended up starting an actual multichapter fic for the first time since like. 2012. and WOW i'm excite #i posted the first two chapters already and the third is like halfway done and it's not MUCH and it's SILLY but i'm having FUN #perhaps it feels a smidge more special when ppl like my writing (compared to drawings) bc i'm so *bad* with words i think #THAT ISN'T TO SAY I DONT GET ALL MUSHY EVERY SINGLE TIME SOMEONE SAYS SMTHN SWEET ABT MY ART THO DONT GET ME WRONG #it's just i'm still not rly used to uhhh talking about my interests or ideas and headcanons... i never rly get to discuss things so--#i get especially self conscious abt writing bc it's like aaaaa it's ALL coming outta my head and idk if ppl will like it or get it or AAAA #i might post it here when it's done bc it's not any of shay's usual fandoms sdfghjmjnhbgfdc #WHEN i DO finish it-- i swear i'll be happier than i've been with any drawing i've made all year. i'm NOT good at writing or finishing fics #ok that's all i'm gonna go eat some overly sweet cake #the void screaming

ems.. so I did something embarrassing today and I can't stop thinking abt it. earlier our adviser was speaking and he cracked his voice and I accidentally like, laughed it was a laugh more like a snort and it was so quiet everyone heard it including him, IDK WHY I KEEP EMBARRASSING MYSELF ISTG. I KEEP DOING THINGS THAT'LL STICK WITH ME UNTIL I DIE. but besides that I'm okay, I JUST CANT BELIEVE I COULDN'T HOLD THAT IN, AND BESIDE ME WAS A MALE. HES SOOO ANNOYING. IDK HE PROLLY MADE FUN OF ME IN HIS HEAD CAUSE I LAUGHED. I FUCKINsbfausbfo. sometimes I wish I just disappear. ISTG I HATE ATTENTION THIS IS WHY I HATE ATTENTION. ALSO WHY I DON'T LIKE SPOTLIGHT CAUSE IM AFRAID, OF JUDGEMENT. I'm scared of letting A LOT of people know me cause then they'll know everything and if I embarrass myself or do something wrong they will know they'll see. I WAS RETHINKING THIS WHETHER I SHOULD TELL U OR NOT BUT ISTG I CANT STOP THINKING ABT IT. Idk maybe the ppl in my class prolly forgot abt it but the problem is I can't cause I'm the one who embarrassed myself, I hate embarrassing myself cause it'll stick with me. I'll prolly think about it randomly when going to bed and mentally slap myself. I FEEL BAD FOR DOING THAT TO MY ADVISER. ITS NOT HIS PROBLEM. REALLY, ITS ME IDFK ANYMORE.

I don't know how I'll calm myself, I mean I am calm rn I just can't process anything right now. I'll read your content, watch movies/k-drama, prolly take a nap to distract myself from today😔updating you is actually making me feel better. everyday when I have time to update you and I do, I feel stress relieved. oh and the k-drama I'm currently watching is cheer up, its quite interesting. I saw it on tiktok and wanted to watch it because of the drama😭

guess who has internet access and is going to yell about dead poets society again???

me!!!!!!!

((god okay, i watched this movie for the first time in like. middle school, sixth?????? grade?????? (i also guessed the ending during the conversation about the annual and my mom got mad at me)

anyway so i painted a nuwanda thing and spent all summer screaming about it to my friend (who consequently got into it, i still have a picture of them taped somewhere with the nuwanda symbols on their face))

NOT THE POINT

okay bad dps headcanons (mostly anderperry,,,) that i’ve already spent the last few months bugging my friend with (ily slick) but in a comprehensive list:

-charlie is lactose intolerant. i won’t elaborate but you can’t seriously tell me that he doesn’t have “lactose intolerant gay who drinks creamed iced coffee anyway because he’ll sacrifice anything for the bit” vibes. you simply can’t

-charlie is also a god at chess. none of the other poets know

-not till he beats meeks anyway (yes you heard me)

-todd can sing but doesn’t know it in the sense that he literally only sings when he has earbuds or smthn in and literally can’t hear himself

-i feel like i’ve said this before but charlie can’t play poker. like wants to be good at it but he sucks. he thinks he’s good. he’s not

-neil is also really bad at poker. no poker face. he knows he’s bad. but he plays. it’s fun.

-meeks and pitts are the best at poker. pitts is the only one that can beat meeks (it has little to do with the actual game and more to do with meeks just getting distracted by his boyfriend)

-todd isn’t good at chess. or poker. he is good at checkers.

-neil is only barely better than todd at chess, sucks at checkers though.

-neil plays chess on strategy

-todd only ever wins chess by managing to steal all of the other person’s pieces

-even though charlie sucks at poker, he can shuffle the cards Casino Style (he spent more time learning how to do that than actually playing lmaooo)

-todd would rather play go fish.

-he usually gets them all to play too

-TODD CANNOT WRITE POETRY WITH PARAMETERS

-okay listen we’ve all basically agreed he’s an english major right

-he does well

-really well

-until, until he gets an assignment to do an actual structured poem

-and he just can’t

-he spends a day complaining about it to neil

-”you can’t put rules on poetry neil!!! not here!! god it’s like nolan all over again! the only reason i ever liked poetry was because there was no way to do it wrong!!!!”

-neil completely understanding but being so flustered by todd’s passion about it that it looks like he isn’t paying attention

-at which point todd is like “you’re not even listening to me :(” but he totally is he’s just so in love with this idiot who can’t write a haiku

-todd sends several frustrated emails to mr keating about this because he can’t write neat poetry but he also can’t get a bad grade

-todd asked neil for his autograph after the play.

-he brought a little sharpie with him and everything

-when he asked neil did his little Smile and signed it immediately, adding a little xo on impulse and adrenaline

-which makes todd look at it a lot after wondering What It Means

-they take walks together during the first snow of the season, even if it’s three am

-they both bake(mostly todd tho)

-neil, however, is the cook

-he’d make todd dinner and try so hard to make it perfect bc his dad gave him a complex but todd is really just happy with whatever because of the effort it takes for him to make something

-neil: i’m so sorry it’s a little burnt, i got distracted trying to make sure the sauce didn’t break

-todd: (mouth full) this is great are you gonna eat?

-in addition, todd bakes mostly when he’s really stressed, and he doesn’t think neil recognises the connection between todd having a breakdown and a platter of brownies appearing in the kitchen

-he also hasn’t picked up on neil being a little nicer to him and asking how he is more after said brownies show up

-neil’s also always so invested in whatever todd happens to be baking if he’s around while he bakes

-like he’ll be making something and neil (like isabella in phineas in ferb lmao) will be all like “whatcha doooin” and todd, completely lost in thought and in general, will be like “i’m making cupcakes, wanna help?”

and my one (1) canon compliant one:

-the poets make a tradition of visiting neil’s grave over holidays, charlie joins them, etc

-charlie and todd are always the last ones to leave there

-at one point, todd tells charlie he loved neil

-and then later on, after todd’s upset about neil, and how he isn’t there anymore, charlie tells todd that neil loved him back

-todd also talks to neil, like prayer almost. just telling him about his day, things he noticed, specifically things that reminded him of him. he writes letters to him sometimes. leaves little bundles of them at his grave when they go over holidays

uhhh yeah i think that’s it!!! feel free to add on if you want :)))

DotD:

*I haven’t watched this ep in 4+ years so Im just gonna focus on the bruise at the end

*Very happy that his bf is no longer a ghost! Now he can give surprise hugs without faceplanting on the floor! (Kai comments that they’re ‘going to be even worse now’)

*Oh yeah and he’s happy to see Morro bc that happens ig

S7:

*Spends most of it having literally no idea what’s going on

*Acronix tries to manipulate him ab his mom and Jay’s like ‘bitch stfu’ so it doesn’t rly work out

*He honestly doesn’t care ab the fact that Wu’s dying all that much bc he’s only known him for a few months (and he’s still a bit upset about the whole ‘banishing my mom instead of trying to talk to her’ thing)

*He doesn’t have Ed n Edna to worry ab so he just fucks around a bit before going ‘fuck it’ and grabbing the timeblade before anyone else can get to it

*he didn’t have a vehicle he just ran

*pirate coat flowing in the wind

*Anyway Kai eventually rants to him ab his parents being supposedly evil and jay’s like ‘oh no,,,, how awful that must be for you,,, can’t relate,,,, at all,,,’ which earns him a smack on the head

*Ray and Maya see this new lightning master and are like ‘um is no one else concerned about this’

S8:

*Jay searched for Wu for a year (despite not givin a fuck lmao) purely to spend a year with his boyf. That was the only reason.

*He is freak tF out by Lloyd’s voice change:

‘WHAT’S WRONG WITH HIM’

‘he’s fine it’s just puberty- you literally went through this jay’

‘NORMAL HUMAN FUNCTIONS DON’T WORK PROPERLY IN THE CURSED REALM MY VOICE NEVER CHANGED BITCH’

‘is that why you’re still so short’

‘FUCK OFF I NEED TO EAT MORE APPARENLY’

*Harumi is just unimpressed with him her description of him is smthn like ‘the pirate ninja who has no self control’

*He instantly knows she’s the traitor but no one really listens to him

*He laughs at them when they figure out he was right

*Jay gets a very quick rundown of what happened with Garmadon and is no longer laughing

*uhhh canon events happen ig

S9:

*Yeah pretty much canon events as well except for the fact that Jay is freaKING OUT about the fact that there are DRAGONS

‘jay we can make magical dragons’

‘YEAH BUT THEY’RE MADE OF ENERGY AND OUR OWN EMOTIONS THESE ONES ARE NOT’

*He still loses it for a bit but instead of him just giving up completely it’s more like he’s drunk

*They have to physically restrain Jay from jumping down after Cole when he falls

*no one wins bcuz Lloyd’s dead. When he comes back Jay offers him an invite to the club of ‘we died but not anymore’. Zane and Jay were previously the only members.

*nothing important so lets move on

S12:

(Pre-season 12, Jay gets an odd feeling, and finds Clutch Powers just about to open the teapot of tyrahn. He smacks him and goes ‘no’ before kicking it into the ocean. Ninjago city is safe once more.)

*Nothing really changes except for the fact that he actually calls the cult that he made a cult and they only cause anarchy

*Cole just points to where the crowds are running from and is like ‘jay’s over there’

*Also Jay has literally no idea what’s going on in this video game world bcuz like everything is just weird and he hasn’t really had time for games with all the heroing going on

*Bruise happens n they dance

*Jay is horrible at dancing but they do it anyway

*Canon stuff (except Nya dies in the car with Kai for bruise reasons)

*Cole sacrificing himself at the end fuckin hurts bcuz last time Jay died in Cole’s arms,,, now it’s the opposite (sorta lmao)

*At the confrontation with Unagami, Jay’s just like “look dude the people who were supposed to protect me threw my mom who was pregnant with me into the cursed realm without even giving me a chance to live, so let’s just both agree that our families suck and move on” and Unagami’s like “Sure that makes sense”

*They bond over having no idea what anything is at any time

S13:

*Jay is so proud of his boyfriend getting a season

*Jay please stop breaking the fourth wall I’m trying to write

*Vania tries to flirt with Cole, Jay responds by fuckin making out with him in front of everyone

The mystic power is from the bois not the weapons

Good evening y’all I’m putting together a bunch of random observations/evedence/my own ideas for this theory. I don’t have the energy to put in screenshots but if someone else would wanna rb w/ them I would love you forever

Ok so I’m trying to make a comprehensive list let’s start with the basics

Bois were meant to be weapons

Every other mutant has mystic powers

Raph usually his powers w/o his weapon in “late fee”

Raph also punches through a steel cage and seems to create an explosion. We know his strength has limits, so his tf is he able to do that w/o magic?

Leo is shown to move incredibly fast, significantly faster than others and visibly shocking others (see fight w/ him and splinter in the battle nexus) almost like he’s able to teleport

The magic responds to their emotions. (Portals not appearing bc Leo isn’t confident, raph unlocking a new power when his brother is in danger) that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s them, but it makes more sense for it to be them than the weapons. The magic in the weapons have no reason to attune to their emotions, i feel like it would be more likely to attune to their skill or movements or smthn

A big one no one has pointed out- in mystic mayhem draxum is surprised by Mikey’s use of magic. Plus he doesn’t look like he knew what Leo’s was gonna do. Why would he be suprised that his magical weapons are magic?? Unless they’re not

I’m guessing that the weapons are made to channel magic. Draxum is suprised bc he didn’t know the boys had magic to channel

Plus, uhhh why were there 4 weapons color codded to them specifically? Draxum thought they were dead and didn’t know about splinter’s color coding thing.

This is mostly speculation (and a bitttt of a reach) , but like what if they were made to channel magic, and when the boys walked in their magic like,,,, locked onto the weapons closest to their old ones and “claimed” them so to speak. So that’s why they were glowing each boy’s color. (And ok yeah they are also physically colored but shhhhh let me dream maybe they were made of like. Magic metal that turned the same color as their auras or smthn)

Ppl say that the fact that splinter can use Leo’s sword means that the power comes from the sword. But if Leo uses it a lot couldn’t it make sense that the power like,,,,, came from him but was left on the sword in a way? Like if some magic was left on it, in theory someone else could use it

Ok that’s also maybe a reach lol. Alternatively:

We only see splinter use the sword. He was mutated in the same experiment and has the same dna as the boys. Maybe we were all wrong about it being a mutant thing, and it’s actually a Hamato clan thing??

Bc like. We know there’s magic in the family (the scrolls). And it’s not like we saw April using the sword, or hell even one of the other boys! We have no clue if they can use eachother’s weapons. It’s been mentioned but never tried

Maybe splinter had magic all along, and when they were mutated it was passed to the boys? It’s possible he has like,,,, ig all 3/(maybe 4) powers, but it’s also possible that general magic runs in the fam and he had the same powers as Leo

Like. There’s a lot about splints we don’t know. And when he picked up the sword he opened a portal completely accurately, within inches of a teapot on a counter, using a completely different technique from Leo. Wouldn’t it make sense if he had practice??? Cus Leo can’t even be accurate to the right fucking country

Anyway. Yeah. Think about that.

I’m too tired to think of a segue. So.

If the powers belong to the boys ig would make sense that Donnie has a power. Probably a more idle/ non directly combative one (like warren’s regen and sunita’s squishy ness)

I propose spacial manipulation or time manipulation as like. Possibilities. Even if that stays purely fannon lol it explains how he fits so much in his bo + gets so much insane shit done so fast

Or it could be smthn related to the crystal. Bc his ability to read magic signatures doesn’t come up that much but I hope it does more. Also if reading magic signatures was a him thing it would make sense bc he was gonna make goggles for everyone else but never did

On a related note- Donnie having an idle sort of magic makes a lot of sense bc as the show goes on the bois are shown to be unlocking more powers, even if it’s shown more through the animation than the text.

Raph starts w/ just super powered punches, then is later able to make full body giant projections of himself, + almost like extra or prosthetic body parts??? (When he tickles shredder) + his powers sometimes seem to have an explosive/ electrical side effect (first time using them, silver fish in late fee, I’m pretty sure they’re are some others) which may be just artistic liberties but who knows??

Leo suddenly has a huge speed boost when he’s getting good w/ his powers. Sure, speed doesn’t = portals/ teleportation exactly but if he were say like,,,, teleporting a few times super short distances while running it would look like he was just running super fast. Also he has the ability to edit portals now??? (Shifts it during battle nexus fight) + the ability to have multiple open at a time when he could barely do 1 at first

(I’m very proud)

Also Mikey!! He’s shown to have both the fire and physics manipulation w/ his weapon from like day 1 (getting dragged around draxum’s lab, stopping the tank in mutant menace, throwing a fucking cargo ship) but his ability to just. Flip off the laws of physics grows exponentially

So if Donnie got some new powers it would still be balanced lol

Also I wouldn’t be suprised if the boys continue to find new ways to use their powers!! Both by just figuring out new shit they can do like raph w/ the projections, and by using their powers in creative ways like Leo and the helmets during the battle nexus fight

Also also, Mikey seems to have both a elemental and physical power, maybe the others do too?? Cus raph has his electricity details and shit Idk. This is like 97% me hoping and 3% evedence 😂

oh yeah im gonna uhhh copy these from what I said on twitter bc i want people here to have a chance to read these but: very long dr2 thoughts incoming. these were originally disparate threads but im too lazy to combine them coherently so this is what you get. under a readmore bc its very long and annoying lol

1. im gonna talk about this more when im further in and also when its not 5 am, but theres Something about the way that dr does its plot twists that feels kind of insulting to the intelligence of its audience. like. yeah a good plot twist is well-foreshadowed but at a certain point if you have an amnesiac protag and a traitor that gets mentioned from the very beginning............ik that there Is a reveal about this at some point already but its like. Really. R.

(honestly this was more of an issue with dr1 telegraphing its twists miles ahead but like. when you add like 6 blatant red herrings to try to confuse the player its just. Not good)

2. anyway minor nitpick that has nothing to do with the actual game and is a localization thing: who the fuck decided that "theater bonus prize" had to be the right order for that in English. that is super fucking unclear. you could justify "bonus theater prize" just as well.

honestly I've noticed a bunch of typos in the localization that really make me question it. this clearly isn't an original game issue but its not just forgetting a word or smthn, its forgetting the first letter of a word in a minigame. forgetting punctuation quite often. its..idk. its baffling to me bc dr isn't even a super old game? the official loc is WAY recent and I didn't even notice it being this bad in dr1 so idk what the hell is up

actually wait im thinking abt this more and dr2 having SO MANY translation errors is annoying when like. its a popular as fuck franchise (for some reason) and yet the quality of your translation is worse than obscure shit like rloop? what is wrong with you. ive already heard some tales about how gonta and (the one girl in v3 idk her name) got localized and ???? what the actual fuck happened there

3. honestly half of my problems w dr are literally just Plot Structure Things and I dont think v3 is gonna change those much. wow there are 5 islands! and there's obviously going to be a conclusion chapter! i Wonder how many people are going to die if two people die (ish) per chapter! wuoh!!!!!

4. i would like to criticize the 3rd case in dr2 specifically bc of it doing a hangman, a logic dive, and then another fucking hangman. who on EARTH thought that was okay. you do the first hangman and then instantly figure out The Case's Major Twist like. you didn't need those other two

5. honestly i might be going harder on dr2 than I would be otherwise purely because my last two games were fucking rloop and 13s which have absolutely MAGNIFICENT mysteries that feel properly foreshadowed the whole time. if you play two absolutely wonderful games In A Row then a completely average game is gonna feel like a mess lol

6. oh this is a dr structure complaint and not exactly something I know how to fix but once you get past the halfway point the murder mystery aspect starts getting way more boring for me bc you just have fewer and fewer people who could actually commit the crime.

like at this point in dr2 im like

-hinata is the protag

-komaeda seems way too plot important

-chiaki wouldn't kill anyone

-akane is gonna die probably but she's not cunning enough to kill

-nidai . is a robot

which leaves literally three fucking people (excluding fuyuhiko bc i don't think they'd put him through more pain). Please

7. ig dr's structure (in general, i cant see this Not applying to v3 and it applied to 1) would work better for me if it did something like rloop or yt//td. i know that's basically turning it into a different game but if you make your entire cast Potential Willing Murderers...hm.

its really hard to do death games generally but they generally feel less interesting to me if its just like "heres a motive, now Kill" like. idk. the motives never really have felt strong enough for me to believe they'd actually kill people. except the second case of 2 bc yeah that one actually tracks for me, but otherwise I'm like. the locked room mystery of 1 actively makes me angry bc the motive is stupid as fuck. Things Like That

8. idk man obviously im gonna finish dr as a series bc a) I already own it b) it's too influential in the cosplay community for me to not, but it is genuinely kind of baffling to me how THIS is the spikechun game that got popular. its not bc of the M rating bc 999 is RIGHT there. at least the music slaps but it keeps feeling like a slog, and when I finished the last two games I played - both of which are 40+ hour games - in A WEEK because of how engaging they were...it feels a little more painful than it would otherwise
