We all know im the resident "defending Lloyd" girlie. However. I cannot defend him in his teaching method when it comes to Arin.

Lloyd, I love you, but telling your student who is CLEARLY struggling with self esteem that he is "going to be a better ninja" than the literal saviors of Ninjago, Arin's idols since he was a young boy...

Urggh it hurts because that's not the reassurance that Lloyd thinks it is and it's only contributing to and fueling Arin's feelings of inadequacy because he feels like he has to live up to Lloyd and the other Ninjas legacy.

Of course, this is kind of multi-faceted because Lloyd grew up as a destined hero prodigy and being told that he was going to be the greatest. It's normal for him... and it "worked", to some degree. So why wouldn't it work for Arin?

I think Lloyd needs to stop "reassuring" Arin and actually sit down and listen to him. If he just listened, it would help Arin so much. But Lloyd isn't listening. It's like every time Arin essentially pleads for help, Lloyd just shuts him down because of what he could be.

It's just so beautifully tragic.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who saw the magic box thing as a closet allegory.

Like. They put the very obvious trans allegory character in a literal BOX so she could be protected from the villains who didn't see her as what she really is and wanted her to go back to her old identity. But the box didn't work for a single second and in fact trapped her, making everything worse.

It was a "putting people into boxes" and "hiding in the closet" allegory, right ? RIGHT ?

Each of the ninja have different source dragon badges on them!!

I'm guessing that they will be sorted into groups based on what source dragon their element comes from, or they get chosen by one as their champion (cuz sora doesn't really have one and I can see the source dragons picking the obviously best fighters as their favs)
