does anyone have tips for how to deal with the phenomenon of 'autistic need to sort and hypercategorize things, except that there are multiple different axes by which to sort them and you can't use them all at the same time, and the result is overwhelm and distress?'

i've learned that tagging systems help, at least, but sometimes they uh. sometimes they can only go so far

Bottled Joy continues to not give AF. 😂😂😂

I said i wouldn’t make another post about them cause to me it’s case closed and they really have that bias. but these ones are too good to not share and archive. cause maybe one day the wind will change and either wyb does not endorse them anymore or their social media manager or whatever will stop with pro-cpf posts.

P1: It’s so obvious. Red and Green which is their colors and that turtle plushie ( squirtle from pokemon ) which is closely associated to turtles. We call ourselves turtles and that specific character is used in CPF memes. It also doesn’t help that Bottled Joy attended YH family concert and they probably saw the red and green headband light signs used. Also someone brought yellow turtle signs. The track playing also had the words good view or what a view— which could be referring to that lovely view or red green and yellow from last night’s event.

They could clearly get away from red & green, but adding that turtle in the middle is the nail in the coffin. There is really no room for other interpretation here as far as i know. 🙃

P2: The Guangdian themed bottle and WYB green-black themed one together and their laces seem to be holding hands. Lol. So it’s not enough that this pair is featured together, they have look really close. like a couple. hmmmmm.. very interesting….

P3: Again, Guangdian themed bottle with the small green cup ( also at some point with the red one ). but the important here is the bgm, which is a pretty popular one, but it’s also one that GG sang in the 2020 NYE. It’s a cpf favorite because there is a candy that WYB seems to be singing the backing vocals so for them to choose it is 👀. and well knowing their history, it’s easy to think that this was deliberate.

P4: throwing a purple colored bottle. lol. I didn’t want to include this but it (kinda) shows how much they know about the fandom. I don’t endorse hatred towards their co-stars no matter how problematic we think they are but you all know who cpfs “hate” that loves this color. 😂😂🍆🍆

Anyway, if this is a marketing strategy or whatever— it is definitely working and people are paying attention to the douyin account at the very least. I love how, whoever is doing this knows a decent amount of fandom cpns and what would make us react.

The new trailer was interesting. It did the thing I didn't really want it to do by spoiling story related stuff and not reveal the actual new Pokémon we're missing, but for what it's worth it seems like the story will be pretty content heavy. Let's look at some screens I took and speculate on some stuff: and a friendly reminder that nothing I say here has any bearing on leaks that are possibly out there, so if I guess anything in the future, it was just a guess:

This crystal tree is pretty suspicious. Like first of all, this appears even DEEPER into Area Zero than we've been before, assuming. Did something or someone plant it here? Is it the remains of an underground world? Could it possibly be related to a legendary? Not to mention the FULL crystallization of the tree, vs the partial crystallization of the trees up top. It's definitely not safe to be here for long.

Next, Z move pose! BBA is off the coast of Unova, but there's a lot of Alola rep here. I wonder if they're doing this because Bank will shut down soon and this will be where they want us to get Alola forms for the next 5 ish years before they discontinue Switch online services?

Next, this is Crispin and what appears to be proof the BBE4 won't be restricted to singular types. My friend pointed out that this could possibly be a sun team with Exeggcutor there. Wonder why they opted for Kanto when Alolan is there? (I mean besides Kanto being why).

Next, the reveal of, WHOA WHODA THUNK, Champion? Corrupted Kieran anyway. I made a post a few months back when they showed off this guy from the neck down and made the prediction he'd be champion- that's not entirely confirmed just yet, but it does seem to be pointing in that direction. It's not really that much of a W because GF can be very predictable with their writing.

Anyway he looks heavily corrupted- YEAH LETS GO VILLAIN ARC!!!! His hair is fully purple now- honestly I'd have preferred it with black like before, but it's probably symbolic of his corruption. My friend even pointed out his hair kinda looks like the Toxic Chains the Loyal Three have- theory time, whatever gave them the chain is also corrupting Kieran because look at him. No light left in those eyes. Just rage. Fun :D

Next we have this- I assume it's Penny or Mela tbh, because I saw from a ways back where it seems like Team Star's Giacomo has reintegrated into Naranja/Uva Academy. Maybe Penny has stopped dying her hair and grew it out or Mela is being super proper now or something. Could also be a completely unrelated character.

Lastly for major story stuff, this is cool poster material. Kieran's rage or possibly fear of Terapagos, Carmine's worry for her brother, Briar... I mean come on, she's a villain in waiting, look at her face. Idk if I'm too quick to claim Terapagos is evil though, because the anime has firmly planted him in Just A Little Guy territory and I don't think they'd want to ruin that image considering they've been in charge of hyping him up since Horizons first started.

But yeah, the culmination of everything we've been through in one image. Kinda exciting.

It's odd that they paired these trios together to me. Pokémon loves sprinkling breadcrumbs to tease at future projects, and these could pass for potential Legends starter trios.

But not for Unova.

Tepig and Snivy are the odd ones out here because it'd be kinda dumb to re use Unova starters for a Legends Unova game- now for Johto? Squirtle, Treeko, and Tepig COULD work, but Squirtle is also pretty close to home.

If I'm being real, this is probably nothing and just meant to highlight the starters across different generations coming home, with Tepig and Snivy being stand outs because this will be their first time being available on the Switch. Ever.

Other notable things I didn't screenshot:

BQs: basically side quests.

Synchronization? I guess? We can actually control a Pokémon. Conspiracy brain wants to say this is alluding to something, but I'm unsure. It's at least kind of neat because this has been a topic of various NPCs in the series for years. Those were probably just alluding to Mystery Dungeon games, but when Game Freak does something like this in DLC, it could hint at a future mechanic or possibly a feature in a future game.

Legendaries returning: I'm gonna be real, I'm not really all that excited by the prospect of yet another Legendary Bargain Sale that they've been doing since ORAS at this point. ORAS, USUM, Crown Tundra, and now Indigo Disk. At this point the legendaries are more common and accessible than some common pokemon like Furfrou or the elemental monkeys.

What's interesting to note are a couple of things:

1. DLC pokemon from SwSh are here too, including Kubfu. That's interesting, I wonder how it will evolve considering we needed the two towers in IoA last time? An NPC from the dojo?

2. Boi if you thought I wasn't gonna talk about the Unovan dragons- they didn't HAVE to single them out like that! They didn't have to. They did, though. I'm pretty sure we all know their next projects.

You may be saying "but it's too fast!" And I agree. They need to stop rushing things and take their time, but we all know they won't. All we can do is hope they actually try this time.

Anyways that was the last trailer for Indigo Disk. Maybe it's my severe depression talking, but I'm actually excited for Indigo Disk. It looks very content heavy and a bit prettier to look at than before. I hope it runs okay- I mean it won't, but I still hope it. I also hope this isn't as quick as Teal Mask was.

okay, starting with the canon boys: Jacob i've made a son of Venus and i've decided is best friends with Terrel and Bobby. He's a shy and quiet kind of guy but he's doing his best. Also insert my hc about 5th cohort being more likely to be direct descendants versus legacies here (cause something something lack of letters of recommendation). Also because of a mistranslation about his job title my group chat has decided his demigod weapon is a gun. Julius i made a legacy of Indiges (deified Aeneas) based on his name. I haven't decided too much for him other than I think it would be interesting if Jason used to have a crush on him at some point.

VES okay Ves is fun. So first things first: scene kid my beloved. Scene kid with a bee theme. The joke is the hair stripes. His lore is that he's a legacy of Mellona (goddess of honey/bees) and he has a big ol' crush on Gerard, because Gerard is emo and they have similar music tastes.

Gerard i am going to be completely honest is 100% themed on MCR. I like listening to music when I design characters and I thought it'd be funny also i realized the name Gerard works thematically for a Mars kid. It all came together. Anyways he's emo, he's an MCR fan, no he does not know Ves has a big ol' crush on him. Ves is dying, squirtle.

Edgar is a son of Lua, a goddess to whom weapon spoils of war were sacrificed to. He's just kind of a cool edgy guy. Not pictured is his bestie, a girl named Felicity Pace, who is a legacy of Abundantia and Pax, and is also in 4th cohort. They're opposites-attract thematically (war vs peace, low energy vs high energy) but also they're both fashionistas and extremely dramatic.

Anton is my extremely self-indulgent pointing at Mars and how to the Romans he was also a god of civilization and ideal Roman life, which included him being an agricultural god, so legacy of Mars and child of Ceres. He's grumpy but he's very passionate about plants.

They're all mostly just meant to be background characters fleshing out Camp Jupiter for Deadangelos so they don't have a ton of meat to them, but I like to try and give them all at least something. At the very least a hobby, theme, interest, or relationships. Something along those lines.

Oh making the Kanto and Johto Ash teams is gonna be kinda hard actually. Not just because I'm actually keeping Kanto and Johto together with the same companions and everything, but I want Ash to keep his rotation team. Where like, he's still finding his footing as a trainer and his struggle with said rotation team is part of why he wants a blank slate. Which like... man how do I show that on Pokecharms without getting kinda sloppy jsldkflksdf

I mean I guess I could list his rotation team in text but where's the fun in that

#btw i know i rag on ash's teams where he gets all 3 starters cause it makes for bad team diversity usually #but i actually think he's gonna keep all 3 kanto starters. mostly cause i think they're all really solid and they all work best with him #like. ok sure MAYBE bulbasaur could go to brock and squirtle could go to misty. but is that what we really want?#they get pushed as an iconic trio pretty often in a way his johto and unova starters arent #that combined with him getting a rotation team here- i think its safe to keep that little trio together #maybe even flesh them out more as a clique #they were all abandoned too so they probably bonded really well bc of that #i think im gonna evolve squirtle too just bc i love wartortle. ik it breaks the squirtle squad cohesion #but like. i dont know if hes going back to the squirtle squad here anyways lol #echoed voice

LT Ghost: Fucking hell. We've only been here three years it feels like. God, Captain is going to lose his fucking mind when he meets you all.

Soap: He means Captain Me by the way. I'm apparently a captain in this universe.

Alex: Well, don't get too prideful, Soap. *chuckles* Anyway, this is fucking crazy. So, you came to me?

Soap: Funnily enough, I thought you'd question it the least. You seem... fairly open minded about this place.

Alex: Yeah, I've had personal experience with these fuckers. Hey, what do we call this second Ghost?

LT Ghost: You guys can call me Riley if you want.

Alex: Hell, I'll take it.

Soap: Hey, Riley? I'm curious are you and your Soap... close?

LT Ghost: Closer than close. We're married.

Soap: What?!

Alex: *laughs*

LT Ghost: Are you and your Ghost not... together?

Soap: No- Alex stop laughing you asshole. No. Ghost... isn't interested in me like that.

LT Ghost: Yeah, Roach and Soap eloped shortly after we escaped Shepherd. They decided to be legally married and then we had a small ceremony with me as well.

Soap: WITH ROACH?!

Alex: *laughs louder*

Soap: You all three are together??

LT Ghost: *laughs* Yeah. I guess Polyamoury is a weird concept here?

Alex: Not at all. Soap just-

Soap: Alex, go back to Gaz.

Alex: I will gladly go to my boyfriend. I'll leave you with your pseudo-boyfriend- ow! Why did you throw that at me?

Soap: You fucking know why, Keller. Go. Shoo. Riley, where did you say you were?

LT Ghost: O5 I think if I read the sign right. Roach is telling me that's correct.

Soap: Is Roach mute in your universe as well?

LT Ghost: Selectively. But yes. What about yours?

Soap: Completely. An accident.

LT Ghost: You said you were also betrayed by Shepherd earlier... How?

Soap: It's a long story. Some missiles went missing and we were sent to Mexico to find them.

LT Ghost: Mexico?

Soap: Yeah. I met my best friend, Rodolfo, there.

LT Ghost: I look forward to meeting him. I got to say, you sound a lot different from my Soap. His accent is a lot thicker.

Soap: I keep it more neutral so everyone understands me. I get sick of constantly getting told to speak English.

LT Ghost: Makes sense. And you also are still a Sergeant?

Soap: Yep. Your Soap is a captain, though?

LT Ghost: Captain John Soap Mactavish, yes.

Soap: Fun.

LT Ghost: You two are fairly different, even in the way you act, though. I mean, I haven't seen you move but you speak in different manners. You're a lot more carefree.

Soap: I'm not more carefree, I don't like being miserable.

LT Ghost: I guess that's a good outlook on life to have.

Soap: Check back in in 2 hours, Riley.

LT Ghost: Yes, sir.

Rodolfo: But no second me, right?

Soap: No. You don't exist in that universe. I mean, I'm sure you do but they never go to Mexico to meet you.

Rodolfo: Fascinating. And this second Ghost is coming here to meet us?

Soap: As far as I know, yes. And the second Roach.

Rodolfo: Does Price know about this?

Price: He does now.

Soap: Price! I didn't know you were on the radio.

Price: I'm always on the radio. Especially since Ghost disappeared. What's this about a second us?

Soap: Someone got on the radio calling themselves Lieutenant Ghost Riley. They called me Captain John Mactavish.

Price: And you invited them to our camp?

Soap: I thought we were here to gain information, sir.

Price: You're right. We are. Safely. How do you know they're not a threat?

Soap: I mean, I guess I don't but... how do they know we aren't?

Rodolfo: I think it will be interesting to meet them.

Price: I suppose. I'm sure Roach is excited to meet his counterpart.

Soap: Practically bursting with it.

Price: Let me know when they are set to arrive.

Soap: Yes, sir.

CPT Price: Will he come on the radio?

Price: Already am.

CPT Price: It's nice to meet you, I'm Captain John Price-

Price: I've been informed, Captain. We await your arrival.

Soap: You two sound exactly the fucking same!

Rodolfo: It is uncanny.

Soap: That's wild. I suppose Price is universal

Rodolfo: *laughs* I will tell Alejandro what is going on.

CPT Soap: Why do you have Mexican Special Forces with you?

Soap: It's a long story but he's practically my best friend. Technically his best friend is Alejandro but... well, it's a long story. Riley said you, Roach, and him were married?

CPT Soap: Are you and your Ghost not married?

Soap: No. I'm not that lucky, I suppose.

CPT Soap: Hmm.

LT Ghost: John.

Soap: It's alright. I'm a suspicious man, I get it. Anyway, we await your arrival. You should arrive before the lights go out.

LT Ghost: It looks that way. We will see you then, Soap.

What is your favourite genre of music? Or if you don't know how to categorize the music you listen to (like me), what is your favourite song? Or band? Or album? Something like that.

ohhhhh #1 question i am categorically incapable of being normal about <3

i typically just define my favorite music as "loud" or "aggressive" or "abrasive" bc most stuff that fits those descriptors will be in my faves regardless of the genre.

a more specific answer is that there are 3 main things i've noticed that will typically make me go apeshit without fail and they are: 1. hardstyle/gabber/industrial hardcore- sorta basskick 2. sickass metal guitar shredding 3. huge dramatic grandiose orchestral

if something has 1 of these i will probably like it, if it has 2 it will be a top fave, and all 3.... well i have yet to find it yet but im sure i will Ascend. here are examples of said top fave combos.

laur covers hardstyle+orchestral and i Cannot Get Enough of his shit man it goes so fucking crazy hard

metal+orchestral is unquestionably ruled by nightwish, but theyre not on bandcamp and i dont feel like finding other links so this one goes to the still-very-fucking-awesome runner-up, POWERWOLF

riikira and rabbitjunk hit metal+hardstyle, though it's less strictly hardstyle and more just general hardcore* electronica. if its got crazy amens its enough who cares. i put the ones that use actual kicks for the sake of illustrating the point here but these tracks are both pretty far from my faves from each lmao *hardcore referring to hardcore [edm] in this case, even though the genre these belong to is called "digital hardcore", which instead refers to hardcore [punk]. it's a mess out here. did you know theres two completely different things called doomcore where one is derived from metal and the other is derived from hardcore. and you never know which itsd going to be when you click on something in the doomcore tag. im dying squirtle

anyway on the other side of the hardstyle+metal combo is kobaryo [with his alias blaxervant], who's much more about the hardcore side of things and just has the metal as flair, but it is still: the best shit ever

laur also on occasion hits this side of hardstyle+metal becaue he just likes using whatever the fuck instruments

there are of course many other things i love a lot, primary examples being ambient/atmospheric, folk, and anything with a lot of Texture. im not gonna get into all that but i do have an extended list of faves/recs from the last time i was asked about this and went insane abt it. it took forever to make and my actual recs are not entirely the same as my Faves so im putting it on here too.

i keep these curated to the top of my bandcamp profile so they're the first things that display there. it's a bit old by now and some have since been shuffled out, but it's still like 80% accurate.

as for the actual recs: the angel's message is there because it's my fave brand of intense and chaotic stuff and want it to kill you full force. it already has some tracks up there so im not re-linking it

this one i recommend just because i think it's really interesting and out there and i'm curious what other people think of this sort of stuff. it's also the prime example of what i mean when i talk about Textures in music.

wolfgun is an actual rec for being genuinely just really good music. probably the most objectively cool/platonically enjoyable thing in my library

This was just gonna be another comparison but then I pulled out my binder and ended up with an illustrated essay.

So while the new cards are PRETTIER, at the same time, the quality on the new cards can't compare to the old ones. Ceruledge is super shiny, but the cardstock is VISIBLY thinner than Gengar's (and the fancy pants full art foils are even thinner), and the ink is so much DENSER on the old cards. The difference in ink saturation is most obvious when you compare the cardbacks

The old card is on the right in the first picture. Basic bitch 1999 nonfoil Dragonair feels 20× nicer to hold than 2023 glitterbomb hyperfoil. 💀💀💀

Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk, but while I have you here... let me give you a glimpse into the mind of me as a child. You might be wondering why the edges of all my old cards are so fucked up, it's because 1: they've been crammed in here for 24 years (holy shit, I'm old).

Which shouldn't be a big deal except for 2: As a Real Pokemon Trainer, my binder is in pokedex order and every variant I have of the same pokemon lives IN THE SAME SLEEVE TOGETHER (top card dictated by how shiny and/or how much 10-year-old-me liked the art), none of that side by side entire sheet of 9 squirtles bullshit. I stacked the squirtles.

(Yes, you are correct in the assumption that this means I was, 3: constantly taking them out of the sleeves and keeping 10+ cards in the same card holder, especially if I had a lot of cards of the pokemon on both sides of the page. I had to replace the sheets in the whole binder at least 2-3 times because I'd stick so many cards in them that the sides would rip and drop $500 in cardboard all over the pavement). I mostly fixed that when I stopped keeping dupes of the same art in there too.

But Raie, you say. Surely, this doesn't include foils and rare cards, right? Great question! Glad you asked!!

Will I continue this tradition as an adult that should know better? Yes, absolutely.

What number am i on? 4? A few of them most definitely went through the washing machine at some point. Idk when i got a new one, but I got my original Pidgeot from a friend who'd left it in the pocket of her jeans and 80% of the card was fuzzy.

(Please don't ask why this mangled common Pikachu is the one I decided to display on top. Adult me doesn't know. Maybe mangled, stained, washing machine Pikachu was my first Pikachu and thus had sentimental value over literally any of the 30 other copies I had of that same Pikachu.) Now that I think about it I probably just put the FIRST copy i got in the binder for emotional attachment reasons, idk.

Speaking of sentimental value: I keep my ticket stub from the first pokemon movie between my Mews.

And i was going to end on that note until I saw this INSANE THING LOOK AT THIS. THIS. FISH. THIS FLAT, COMMON, BASIC FISH POKEMON IS OBJECTIVELY BETTER THAN FUCKING CHARIZARD.
