It’s always bothered me that Antoine’s last name, D’Coolette, is close to an actual French word but just fucks it up.

Words and surnames often start with d’ (as the word de just means from, and d’ is the abbreviation of de) but you only shorten de to d’ when the first letter of the word after it starts with a vowel (so D’coolette starting with D’c doesn’t work, it’d be De Coolette).

In addition, usually when name start with d’, the d isn’t capitalized, the first letter of the word after the d is. This is because those names usually mean “from a place”, so the place name is capitalized and not the word From in front of it. For example, say your family is famous for coming from a town named Anguille, so much so that their surname literally means “from Anguille”, it’d be spelled d’Anguille and not D’anguille (as it’d be weird to capitalize it the other way). The closest English equivalent would be those medieval dudes named stuff like John of Quincinghamshire, though you don’t see many modern last names include the Of.

Instead of starting the word with D’c, I’d use d’Éc, it just functions better that way in French spelling conventions (é is a sound that isn’t really in English, but it’s close enough to sounding like ay that I’ll say just imagine that)

Finally, though the English “oo” sound is found in French, it’s never spelled like that, instead being spelled as “ou” (and it’s pronounced slightly differently but for this purpose don’t worry about it). French loves its two vowel combinations that have unique pronunciations.

In conclusion, I wish it had been spelled d’Écoulette, that would’ve fit French spelling conventions much better (though it does not matter at all).

So, we all know how all of Ken Penders’s characters were abruptly ceased to appear in the comics because of copyright reasons

Well, i was re-reading the Suppression Squad Arch, characters created by Ken Penders, and i noticed that we missed a lot. Like, we never got to see many things about the Antis.

Such as:

1) We didn't get to see Scourge taking Patch's eye out

2) We didn't get to see Miles on command

3) We didn't get to see what horrors Antoine faced on Moebius while impersonating Patch

4) We didn't get to see Antoine, Bunnie and Sally trounce Patch's ass after all the shit he put them through

5) We didn't get to see what ACTUALLY happened to O'Knux

6) We didn't get to see ALL of the Squad members childhoods, who are their parents? (all we have are Scourge's backstory, his father and Alicia's father)

7) We didn't get to see what did Scourge exactly did on Moebius when he came back with Fiona

8) We didn't get to see the details of Scourge making the Squad change their appearences and names when he came back

9) We didn't get to see Scourge and Fiona beating the Squad into submission

10) We didn't get to see Miles and Boomer stealing Dr.Kintobor's globe posts

11) We didn't get to see Buns getting kicked out of the Squad because of her illness

12) And we didn't get to see Rosy's Relationship with the Squad before and after becoming insane because of the special ring she used to make herself older

There, i gave you all other reasons to hate Ken Penders more. And because of him, we will NEVER get to see ANY of these things cause they no longer exists... and the worst thing is that The Sonic Archie comics are over. Thanks a lot, mother fucker.

Hi! i think there’s 2 options you could go in any case ^_^

you can base a design on Antoine D`coolette’s who is a coyote

you can play with the cheek-fur and eyes, but the main features on this are the pointy and angular ears, the muzzle and nose

the other option you have is to use the actual animal as reference:

i concerved the pointy and angular ears, but you can make their ears be more round ^_^

this is just a rough example, not really something that “should” look like that... XD you can play and experiment with the design, playing with the eye design, the fur design too, etc ^_^
