I have to keep reminding people that law enforcement isn’t about justice or serving people, it’s about maintaining the status quo. However unjust that may or may not be.
Further, it’s about ensuring that the only correct violence remains in the hands of the state.
Opposing that is the point.

as a fandom, I hope in 2023 my fellow villain stans (and those of us who identify as anarchists or socialists/communists and still try to find something ideologically worthy in this copaganda) realize that the League of Villains are not revolutionaries or antifa or any of the brave people standing up to fascism, and are incredibly traumatized people mostly on suicide missions led by a megalomaniacal man whose political views are best described as fascist. It's just not happening, y'all.
Spinner's embracing of Tomura led to his depersonalization and dehumanization. Twice's blood is being used in the worst way possible; his ultimate fear of being a clone while the original is dead is now realized and utilized. Dabi's grasping at anything to hurt his father while burning himself to death since he can't beat Shouto and because he's realized that people will use any excuse to not care about abuse victims, and he gave them the biggest one by trying to destroy society. Toga has given up on trying to make the world love her and discarded her need for it. Compress entrusted a society where the rich can't exploit the poor to Tomura, but actually managed to entrust it to a man whose plan involves tanking local economies so he can control them. They aligned with an ancapitalist-crypto-fascist army that preaches eugenics to achieve so much of their goals.
Tomura spent months trying to show he was his own person outside of All For One only to end up possessed. All For One wasn't kidding when he said it was all for him.
This is not a good end for them. This is not any shape or way or form of good. They're not going to come back from this sort of thing alive unless the heroes assigned to them save them.
Yeah, this is pessimistic, but someone really needs to wake y'all up. wake the fuck up. The League aren't happy. And they haven't managed to be happy. Tomura never wanted to be happy, either, even if he respected the wishes of his allies. He says it over and over because his trauma made him a depressed nihilist who justifies his lack of will to exist over and over again.
It's just so fucking frustrating, and I know I played a role in this for years, this beating of the drum of how much Hero Society is shit. it is shit, but the League aren't offering solutions. They're too hurt and traumatized to and some of you should really read upon on trauma-based politics and its short-comings.
Please, in 2023, get your head out your asses.
Boku no Hero Academia is a story with liberal values and ideals about reforming the status quo, not breaking it. You are not going to find far-left of center ideas actively pushed in this manga even if they are entertained, because in the end, the story will not have the League "win".
The ending to BNHA will not be revolutionary but reform, which means the saving of the villains will fall down to hero kids. You will not get amazing parables about how the villains should save themselves in this story because that's not what this story wants to tell. Please be realistic, for fuck's sake.
I'm so tired of reading takes that hinge on the idea that the League is a tight-knit family of antifascists and antistatists who love each other and will destroy the hegemonic systems around them. No, that's not what's happening. I'd fucking love if it did, but that's not Boku no Hero. Learn to read.
I love you all, but I truly think you would have happier times in fandoms if you started expecting less and less and realizing that the majority of the media produced in our zeitgeist is far from perfect and will also not cater to leftist ideals. Certainly not something published in Shounen Jump.

I think the funniest thing I've seen from "ML"s on this site is the consistent meltdowns about their AES (the most unserious possible assertion) that don't actually exist, the dearth of knowledge of antistatist theory leading them to make the most asinine statements imaginable with some of the funniest being equivocations to liberalism, and the immediate reliance on claiming that Stalinism was good because it lifted people out of poverty and unwittingly recycling the exact same rhetoric that capitalists use whilst misattributing the processes of industrialisation as socialism.
Bitch please 80% of the anarchists I actually know have done more effective political action in their lives than you screaming nonsense on Tumblr.

The state is an organized crime racket. It appropriates wealth by coercion and regularly uses force in violation of the nonaggression principle. The state is a parasite that perpetuates itself at all costs and extends itself by any means possible. Regardless of its putative leaders, the state grows and increases its power at the expense of its hosts and others who fall victim to its predations. As Hans-Hermann Hoppe poignantly wrote, states are “gangs of murderers, plunderers and thieves, surrounded by willing executioners, propagandists, sycophants, crooks, liars, clowns, charlatans, dupes and useful idiots—[the state is] an institution that dirties and taints everything it touches.” One of the state’s dirty occupations is war. When undertaking war, the state uses expropriated wealth and human capital to defend its territory or extend its reach and influence. Clearing away the fog of statist preconceptions regarding war, Hoppe explains that war is gang warfare: “Gang wars, then, typically involving some territorial issues, are always wars conducted by rival gang leaders with other people’s money, machines and manpower (just think of taxation and compulsory conscription!).” According to Hoppe, it follows from this recognition that the proper posture of antistatist libertarians toward war is neutrality. That is, we must equally oppose all state parties to war. This understanding forms the basis of any worthwhile libertarian treatment of military conflict—whether the war between Russia and Ukraine (and the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization) or the prospect of war between China and Taiwan (and the United States).

There is no such thing as an "Invisible Hand" in Economics. It has never existed, doesn't exist now, and never will exist, cause it is entirely impossible for a man-made concept to regulate itself. Either the people regulate the economy or the State regulates it; pick one.

Ugh, I forgot Jumblr is like... So disconnected to leftblr that very few people can recognize clearly more antistatist politics behind typically stating you're a Bundist. It's much different on twitter, fb, and quite frankly, irl, where I've met a lot of Jewish comrades who absolutely get immediately where I'm coming from if I simply explain I'm too antistatist for any state solution. It's really why I never posted on Tumblr about this because the circles here seem more liberal and incredibly assimilated if American.
Anyway, antistatist and antizionist Jews have as long if not longer history than political (statist) Zionism itself, have a midrash that makes their reasoning halakhically sound, and frankly, do not have to answer for our leftism or our Judaism to anyone but Hashem. We have always existed, in opposition, and are not going to wiped out of existence by exclusion or being smeared as Kapos or judenrats when we were always at the front lines of fighting those who threaten us in the Diaspora.
If you didn't know any of this, please read this interview with a professor of Jewish history to gain some knowledge about a core segment of leftist Jews and their history. At least educate yourself on how the community was far more fractured historically than today's Jewish community would have you believe. At least spend five minutes getting some historical background to why people like me exist and have existed for over a century in the community. I am not here to change your mind on I/P, simply more to explain that I have as much right to inhabit a Jewish online space as any other.

That villain hating anon has been going on for a while, is there any way to doxx them to get rid of them permanently? Even their real name?
That may sound extreme but that last ask sounded a bit threatening towards you
So they've been around for years, annoying villain stans. I also suspect they were behind the weird "shouto" asks I got a year ago. But no, I don't know who they are. If I did I'd have already made fun of their main blog on here (don't think they've really done much to deserve being IRL doxxed, afaik). But also, I don't think it was threatening. They're fixated on the idea of the villains having any redemptive qualities and like using terms way over their actual intellectual paygrade to make their points. They used to use emotional labor as a term freely or used to accuse me of not being a feminist due to my like of Shigaraki before I quickly shot them down agreeing that I'm not, lmao. But now they've moved on to using fascist since I'm very outspoken about being antifascist and antistatist on here. Essentially they're just looking at what sticks/lands and what paints "villain stans" as hypocrites. Outside of when I got annoyed at them for being weird about Toga and her sexuality, I honestly find them amusing tbh. Like clearly they're fixated on certainly people in this fandom and are not mentally well, but at the moment, I just think of them as our bnhablr equivalent of crazy Baptist ladies screaming their heads off about how we're all going to hell on the 2 train at 8 am in the morning. You know, part of the environment, like pizza-eating rats and pigeons.

Unemployment cutely will not actually acknowledge my appeal against them to pay them back a bunch of money. So I appealed and payments are supposed to freeze BUT they haven't. SO now it's accruing interest. SO now, I owe a payment of 88.88$ which has a LOT of connotations for me (not just the nazi ones, but for two family deaths close to me, as well as the number 8 as a symbol of energy transference akin to 'infinity' or whatever, I have a personal thing with it and mercurial energy), so I think it's funny that beyond solely the state's fucking incompetency, something leads me to believe I should just fucking pay it. Also if I don't they'll "take legal action" even though, jfc, I'm already taking legal action against them. but everyone knows you can't out legal a corrupt state.

Why I like the LOV despite “societal destruction”
Are the villains actually ‘leftist’? part 2
Some problems with categorizing villains as ‘leftist’ or not
My frustrations with BNHA’s (lack of) ideology, including the villains
I’ll add more if I get questions.
Bonus question: why did you write this, nerd? Answer: I wouldn’t have had to if so many people hadn’t made it painfully clear that they’re just roleplaying "fuck Trump” progressivism while ranting in very much the same ways conservatives do about (fictional) antistatist violence.
Note about sources
A necessary disclaimer (which is relevant to my sources but also the metal in general) is that I’ve only had minimal contact with Japanese studies at an taught-academic level, and writing this was further complicated by my reliance on English-language source material; although I’ve done my best to refer to material written by Japanese individuals and Japan residents published through Japanese outlets (with some reputable non-Japan based sources), because most of these articles are written for foreign audiences, it’s difficult to vouch for their complete accuracy and to fully avoid Orientalist depictions. While some sources were used to research specific facts and numbers, keep in mind that other sources were added simply to substantiate the existence of and roughly sketch the parameters of social discourses, so I don’t always completely agree with the portrayals put forward nor conclusions reached. That said, I do invite relevant corrections and additions.
