The almost unaninmous hate against some characters is pretty off-putting to newcomers like me, like Schuster doesn't just have dubiously ethical behavior, no, he's the worst etc and I wonder if it's a product of the show being finished for about 7 years and thus fan opinions having become echo chambers, compounded with the fact that Glee recently saw a revival in fan interest (but as "this show is cringe and couldn't be made today") and thus, a few influential voices have more or less dictated which opinions were "the right ones to have" (not intentionally I presume). I don't know if it even qualifies as an opinion? But I'd be interested to see what you have in mind on that subject. TL;DR Glee's fandom seems very one-minded from where I stand.

More show-centered opinions: Kitty's personality change after season 4 was a good thing for the show. Hunter didn't have nearly enough screentime to be compelling in the way Sebastian could be. Okay, this is the last one (for now?): while I understand why Mike rejected Tina's proposal in season 6... I don't think that was a good plot element. The double marriage is already whimsical and by season 6, realism has long disappeared from the show. I'm sure people liked Tina and Mike together (I personally largely prefer them to Artina), so why not (from a Doylist standpoint) just make them get together soon? I think the "lesson" (Tina's too young to settle for Mike, with whom she doesn't have a strong enough relationship to marry right now) fails to work when Klaine and Brittana are just as young but still marry. Both couples do have a stronger relationship than Tike but that's partly because Tike rarely had screentime.

I don't know, it just feels hypocritical of the show to be against Finchel marrying because they're young, but then going through it for Brittana and Klaine, but still not going through it for Tike.

Yeah, I mean, I’m all for having different opinions, but sometimes it feels like certain opinions aren’t actually believed and just ‘the right opinion’ to have.

Like, with Mr Schue, look, I’ve joked about him being the worst, but obviously he’s not actually Satan himself or anything of the sort. And even if he was? He is a fictional character. Like him as much as you want. Same with Rachel, Finn, Ryder, Puck, Kitty, etc, or basically any character widely disliked. The hate for characters is kinda off-putting and makes it feel like less people are genuinely believing it and more like they are just ‘following the leader’ (Which am I guilty of helping? Probably)

I love Kitty, and I love her personality change to try and become a better person. Obviously they should’ve given her a better arc along with the personality change, but yeah, def a good thing, IMO.

I can’t lie. I honestly don’t care enough about the Warblers to even remember who Hunter is half the time 💀. But, yeah, they didn’t give him enough screen time, so obviously he couldn’t be as compelling as Sebastian in the first place. Though, I disagree because I just don’t see Hunter being a compelling villain at all. Like, just use Sebastian? Ik he had a ‘redemption arc’ but IMO they should’ve kept him as a villain.

Yeah, I’m a big Tartie fan so I’m glad that they were endgame instead of Tike (which I’m mainly neutral on). But as a plot? There’s really no reason why Mike shouldn’t have said yes, because the lesson is essentially Mike rejects Tina’s proposal because they’re too young to get married…while they’re at a double wedding…with all couples the same age as them 💀💀. Honestly, just cut it out. What was the purpose of it other than to show Tina getting humiliated once again?

I mean, tbf Finchel we’re still in HS, while Brittana/Klaine had at least graduated and not getting married straight away. But I’m probably a bit biased on this because I hate them, so 🤷‍♀️

What are your favourite Sebastian ships?

My favourite, and most consumed Sebastian ship will always be Kurtbastian, no doubt about that, but if I had to put all of his (common?) ships into a list from favourite to least favourite, this is what it’d look like!

1: Kurtbastian

Kurt Hummel and Sebastian Smythe.

I don’t quite think I can fathom just how much I dearly love these two, both separately and together. The potential they bring to one another for growth, redemption, explanation and development is practically palpable. The chemistry, courtesy of Chris and Grant, in the show is so entertaining to watch, and the direction of their relationship can really take a turn at any point. Do they start off with hate sex? Is it Kurt learning that Sebastian is an actual person with a family, hobbies and aspirations? Is it Sebastian personally reaching out to apologise to Kurt and something blossoming from that? Do they run into one another again in New York? It could be any of these options, alongside many more, and yet they all bring us a beautiful outcome in this pairing. They’re not so cookie cutter, they’re unique and compatible in so many different ways. Their wit and humour is so easy to intertwine that I sometimes forget they aren’t a canon couple. I just absolutely adore them.

2: I need to distinguish how much I love Kurtbas by stating that nothing even compares to them.

Like seriously none of the ships below even remotely compare. That’s how much I adore these two.

3: Warbler Ships.

Sebastian Smythe and Jeff, Nick, Thad, Wes, David and Trent.

These are the type of ships that I’ll read and I have no problems with, I just don’t actively ship them in my own glee universe. I read a beautiful fanfic a few years ago about Thad and Wes helping Sebastian overcome some self infliction habits, as well as a similar one with Nick where they’d write letters to one another. They were lovely and I thoroughly enjoyed them, I just don’t ship any of them religiously like I do with kurtbastian. KB are my endgame, I don’t even see these couples as midgame.

(That being said, I do think Jeff and Sebastian have most likely made out before. Not in a midgame type of way, more of a heated fling, I picture it to be a situation where Nick and jeff were on a break, and the boys kinda just got caught up in the moment while watching movies. It was something they just needed to try and get out of their system, and it’s followed by Jeff realising that Nick’s lips are the only ones he ever wants to kiss, and Seb understanding that maybe the idea of being romantically exclusive to somebody wouldn’t be a bad thing, and it would actually make him feel special. It doesn’t affect their friendship negatively, they’re still best buds, but Nick definitely gives Sebastian some side eyes when Niff are on the mend and he learns what happened.)

I think a good summary of how I feel about these ships is that when I’m reading their fics, I’m reading for Sebastian and Warbler characterisation separately, not Sebastian and Warbler romantically together, but they’re still cute fics!

4: Huntbastian

Hunter Clarington and Sebastian Smythe.

For me Huntbastian is kinda mid tier. I don’t actually like Hunter very much as a character, and I think Seb is far too good for him (I’m also very persistent when it comes to reminding people that the steroids scandal was all Hunter’s doing). However, there are definitely a few fics that I’ve read where this ship is quite cute. I suppose because we don’t know a lot about Hunter, nor do we know if the stuff we do know is even true, I think this ship is completely dependent on how the former is portrayed by each fic writer/artist. They have fanon potential, but I don’t appreciate Hunter enough to delve into that myself, despite the fact I have enjoyed little bits of media between these two every now and again.

That being said, I personally think these two actually have some very dark potential considering the power dynamic established in the show, and you know me, I love putting Sebastian in tough situations.

5/6: Starsmythe and Coopbastian

Elliott ‘Starchild’ Gilbert/Cooper Anderson and Sebastian Smythe.

First of all, idk if Elliott and Seb have a ship name, I just came up with Starsmythe on the spot, but if they don’t I think that should be the new one.

Much like with number three on my list, these are the kinds of ships that I don’t really see together in general, and I don’t see them happening in canon at all (well maybe Starsmythe could’ve if they’d actually met, but they didn’t), they’re just fun for experimenting with stories and ideas, or sometimes they’re a catalyst for other ships (Elliott with Kurtbas and Cooper with Huntbas from what I’ve read). I did read a really sweet KB fic where Sebastian got sick in New York, and Elliott helped Kurt look after him, so although they weren’t romantically involved, I thought it was just so sweet and had potential.

So again for these guys, I read more so for separate characterisation, and to get my Sebastian fix after I devour everything in his tag excluding seblaine, but they have possible fanon potential!

(And personally I’m a sucker for the whole ‘Cooper dates one of Sebastian’s family members’ trope that so many of us use. That never gets old.)

7: Sebklaine

Sebastian Smythe, Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson.

(Does it annoy anyone else that in both sebklaine and klaine Kurt is only the K? Like mmm it’s not a vibe.)

I don’t really know what to say about this ship. Do I hate it as much as Seblaine? No I don’t, but do I actively love it or consume it’s media on my own? Also no. The only time I’ll read Sebklaine fics is if the title and/or summary really grab my attention, or it’s primary focused on Kurtbas with only a smidge of Blaine, otherwise I’m not overly interested myself.

I personally don’t think this trio would work very well at all, I actually don’t think Blaine could be in a polyamorous relationship with anybody for that matter. As we see in the show, he’s incredible insecure and very jealous, imagine how he’d behave if he had to share his partner with somebody else? And I’m not putting my Bastian through that :(.

8: Sebofsky:

Sebastian Smythe and Dave Karofsky.

I think Sebofsky is such a neutral ship to me. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t actively ship it either. I’ve read a few fics of this pairing, nothing that particularly stuck out to me, but that’s not to say they were necessarily bad, just not my personal cup of tea. Something I actually would’ve liked to have seen from the show between these two was an apology from Seb to Dave after his attempt, but since we never got to see that I just like to assume it happened off screen. Now had we have seen a scene similar to that, maybe I would feel differently towards this ship, both positively or negatively, but we shall never know.

Not a bad ship, not an amazing ship, just a ship to me!

9: Seblaine:

Sebastian Smythe and Blaine Anderson.

I’ll just let Redditor Bea explain this one

This might be a hot take, and I’m probably going to get shit for it, but I think Sebastian deserves better than Blaine. I think everyone deserves better than Blaine, I do not like Blaine :).

Seblaine’s only redeeming quality, at least in my opinion, is that at least Blaine is a gay male and not a girl, or god forbid a lesbian girl.

10/11: Sebtana and Smytheberry.

Sebastian Smythe and Santana Lopez/Rachel Berry.

I will not touch these two ships with a ten foot pole. I’m all for personal expression, and at the end of the day you can headcanon characters as whatever sexuality you want to, there is nothing we can actually do to stop you, but I personally think there’s a huge difference between hc-ing a straight person as another sexuality, and hc-ing a canon gay character as straight. It’s reductive, you’re taking away their minority, you’re removing with a snap of your fingers the oppression people have been fighting again for years, these characters are iconic for what they represent, Santana especially: canon gays in modern media who aren’t totally defined by their sexuality. And I know some of y’all are looking at this with a side eye because it’s “not that deep”, but it is to me. If Sebastian and Santana had both been canon bisexual in the show, I actually think Sebtana is a ship I could get behind, but they aren’t, and therefore it’ll never be okay with me. They are both gay, a homosexual and a lesbian, so I will never see them romantically involved.

And as for Rachel, the compatibility between them isn’t very strong in my opinion, Rachel would be too much for him, I think it takes a certain type of guy to handle her, especially pre-S4. He’d lose his patience pretty quickly over her behaviour anyway, excluding the fact Sebastian likes men.

1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?

as a child all i ever wanted was to follow in my family's footsteps- to become a career military man, decorated, and to retire in the highest rank possible. obviously, life had other plans. while my younger self would likely be disappointed and confused with where i have ended up, however overall i am content.

2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.

graduating with my Ph.D. the process was long and difficult, as well as tedious to say the least. however through determination and hard work, i was able to achieve the goal.

3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?

i already do precisely what i want to each day.

where are they now?

after his unceremonious exit from dalton academy hunter was forced back into a military academy by his father. due to the strings his father pulled as well as the weight his family name carried he was able to avoid jail or juvenile time, though he was required to complete hefty amounts of community service, pay a fine, and attend both drug and anger management classes. once he had graduated high school and paid his debt to society he went immediately into college, where he followed an accelerated program to earn his BA in History in three years. Following graduation he enlisted in the military and attended bootcamp, quickly finished, and rose through the ranks. his time, however, was cut short when he was involved in a helicopter crash overseas. he survived, though not uninjured. during his recovery he earned a Masters in Anthropology, after which he moved to nyc and began working for the museum. climbing through the ranks he began earning his Ph.D and upon graduation was offered the position of curator.

So in the Barry Is Sebastian fic i will no doubt be writing soon, i’m totally thinking he cut contact with the warblers and his friends from those two (?) years at Dalton. I haven’t figured out why. 

But!!! I do know why he was going as “Sebastian Smythe.” I’m going to have the Smythe’s be Barry’s grandparents from Nora’s side (I know her maiden name is Thompson in the show but I’m playing fast and loose with canon so) and Sebastian is his second middle name, because dude has a lot of names.

Joe sending Barry to live with the Smythe’s for these two years because 1)his grandparents want him there and 2)Barry’s been running around and away chasing the impossible, so there is the hope that private school and its tight security and curfew will reign him in. Barry returning to Central, and to Joe and Iris, regularly and has scheduled calls with Joe and Iris. While Barry is loved by his grandparents, they can’t really deal with his insistence that Henry was innocent- because remember, Nora was their daughter, and her murder still weighs on them. 

He is Bi and yes, Kurt’s line about bisexuality to Blaine will be addressed. I honestly think that his initial reaction to Blaine came from his own feelings for him, and from not knowing much about bisexuality. So by addressed I don’t mean he’ll be terrible about it, I just mean that he might be explain why he reacted that way or there will be a throwaway line somewhere explaining it.

Which brings me to Kurt- I like him, a lot, but in my rewatch I realized that I don’t ship Klaine all that much. So as for Klaine, that will be in the past. Sebastian/Barry fell out of contact with the Warblers and Blaine sometime around the Klaine engagment- or after the engagement was broken. Still figuring that out. As for Kurt? I always thought that separate from Blaine, he had so much potential. Still, I’m tagging it Not Kurt Hummel Friendly just to be safe so the klainers don’t find me

Seb & Nick & Jeff & Thad & Trent & Blaine & Wes I fucking need it.

Marley won’t be Supergirl because of the whole different Earths thing. So Kara and Marley are different people, but Marley isn’t even in the fic so it doesn’t matter.

Yes, there’s definitely going to be Seblaine. No, that is not the main purpose, the main purpose is Warblers’ friendship. 

Joe and Iris do know about Barry’s Sebastian Smythe era. 

The Warblers don’t know about ‘Barry Allen.’ They do know that he’s a secret softie and a total nerd, and that he is obsessed with the impossible.

I don’t know what do do about Hunter, but I do know he was Felicity’s ex from college. And that Felicity and Barry met in college so those three were definitely a chaotic trio. Felicity and Hunter both know about this double life then.

CAM: Are we sure my co-guest isn't an alien? Anyways. I'm looking forward to leaving for college and getting a fresh start. 2041 is a brand new year and soon enough, I'll be in a new city in a new state. Can't wait to start over.

WINNIE: Also, Snopes disputed. I'd like to also say that I'm like supes excited for new foreign exchange students. And the new Prada collection.

JOEY: You're right, people do love drama... But first of all, the Meeks sisters are awesome and they're not aliens. Even if I've heard that gingers have no souls and that's why I really don't trust Julien's mom. And I think if there was already an alien invasion, we would know! WINNIE: I thought we had like already established that. But yes, I had a nonsurgical nose job over the summer and I'm like so not afraid to hide it because not only do I look hotter, but the rest of my face and body are like totes 100% natural and 100% hot.

JOEY: You kind of look like a Barbie now... That's totally a good thing, but don't Barbies set on fire easily? Are you scared that one day you're going to melt because you're made of plastic now?

WINNIE: No, I'm like totes confident in my abilities to stay away from fire.

JOEY: That's good, that's good, fire is dangerous... Anyways, next question is for Cam: who do you think is most likely to get married first after graduation? And also, why are you being so dry to me when I text you?

WINNIE: Why is this a Cam question? My bets are like so on Juliet and Ivan.

CAM: Don't answer my questions. Anyways. I think most people are rooting for Theo and Zoe. I'd also like to see Frankie have her first wedding as soon as possible, so we can have a lit bachelor party. And I'm not being dry to you? We just don't have to hang out every second of every day.

WINNIE: Bite me, Evans. I have no fear of like totes slashing your tires when I leave.

CAM: I'll just turn my windshield wipers on and melt you. Witches can't handle water, right?

✎ BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

When Hunter was twelve and he had to describe his life in three words for a school homework, the ones he used were “tradition, family and honor”. While other kids were busy filling theirs with whatever boy group they were into at the moment or the name of an actor, Hunter repeated the words of his father. It wasn’t much to the man’s surprise that Hunter succeeded in everything that was thrown at him. Sports? Captain of the team in high school. Academics? All AP classes and the most perfect chemistry score the school had ever seen. Social life? He was polite and not hard to make friends wish - confident, aware of his skills, funny at the right time. His relationship with his family wasn’t as turbulent as people would expect it to be - they were strict, but Hunter didn’t mind the order and the expectations. He didn’t mind the responsibility. Or so he thought.

As Campbell moved away from their family to follow her dream, Hunter prepared to join the Air Force Academy. A process that usually takes time and preparation, a lot of networking and sometimes even someone on the inside. All things Hunter had taken care of already during several events his parents took them. The process was smooth and soon he was in. He chose a major, he chose a minor, he made friends. This was what he was used to, the life that had been laid out for him. Be great - and make a career out of it.

Hunter took care of his needs with the same logic he would take care of everything else. There was an order to it. Systematic. No feelings. A scene when a withdrawal was close, sex when he felt his body too heavy, having a someone submit to him when he had a headache. The Air Force didn’t mind the system the cadets had going on, they actually reinforced it. Classes weren’t easy and the majority of the students were stressed and sleep deprived, and so was Hunter. But he carried on, he had a role to fulfill. Responsibilities. His life continued on this path until he got a call from his mother - already done with college, already in active duty - Campbell was home, her claim had been killed.

Hunter took his leave and flew home. Even though he managed to stay a month, he couldn’t bear the sight of seeing his lively and full of adventure sister like that. The responsibilities once thrown at him as a child weighing on him once again. This was his sister and there was nothing he could do, nothing he could possibly think of doing. The leadership training at the Air Force did not prepare him for a shadow of what Campbell used to be. He went back to work with that in mind.

The following months were a downward spiral. Each phone call from his mother would leave Hunter more worried, each withdrawal he missed would leave him more stressed, each morning he slept in would leave him feeling more guilty. His own order had been broken and Hunter had no idea how he could put that back together now. So he did what any sensible person would do: he snapped. Over nothing. A cadet had dropped a pencil case from a desk and made a whole lot of noise and Hunter insulted him, his wits and everyone present in the room. Storming out, shutting doors, even beating a colleague that tried to stop him, yelling at everyone in sight.

The next day, he was sent to get an evaluation from one of the healthcare workers of the facility he was working at. The stress, the amount of missed withdrawals and the obvious weight on his shoulders were all written in the report that had him suspended for undetermined time and transferred to the Dalton Sanctuary for treatment. At first he thought it was a horrible idea, so much work would end up piled up because of it, but after a few sessions with the base’s therapist Hunter was convinced to at least try to have his own life for once. He had no idea he would find his own sister there.

Clarissa Renee Clarington was born December 19 on one of many military bases her family would inhabit as she grew. Growing up in a staunch, strict military household and born to a lineage of military men, Clarissa spent most of her life trying to find her place. Torn between the respectable, prim, precise figure her parents brought her up to be and the sense of adventure and want for freedom contained in her own soul. Aiming to please her parents and determined to uphold her family’s reputation, she spent the first 18 years of her life adhering to every expectation placed upon her. She earned top marks in every class she took, and quickly excelled into leadership positions in all of her extracurriculars. Graduating top of her class Clarissa was accepted into the college of her dreams, though it meant moving on her own to LA. Although nervous to be away from her family, she cherished the opportunity to figure out exactly who she was, in her own space and on her own time. This worked well at first, but midway through her second semester, she began her downward spiral. Her roommate, whom she absolutely detested during their first semester, came to her for help one evening after getting herself into a mess of trouble at a party. Clarissa acted kindly, helping her which ultimately sparked their friendship. Unfortunately, her roommate Candi wasn’t the best role model or friend, and she drug Clarissa into the LA party scene. Two short months later, she found herself strung out and out of control. However, despite her antics and where she found herself, she was still deposited on Dalton Island at the age of 21.

Just when it seemed all hope was lost, Clarissa's saving grace was dropped in her lap like some sort of miracle. Thankfully, she still maintained the gumption to realize what she’d been given- a second chance. Clarissa's miracle came in the form of a petite, gorgeous, spitfire of a submissive, whom she met after coming to the Island at the age of 21. After she helped Clarissa get clean, she set to work on helping her with her courses at Dalton Community Center. What began as a desperate attempt at saving a perfect stranger’s life turned quickly to love, which lead directly to a claim once they’d both graduated and established themselves within their community. Living away from her family, but still maintaining connections after having worked to mend the relationships, Clarissa was able to learn how to appropriately balance herself for what was perhaps the first time in her life. She was happy, having moved with Avery to New York following graduation from the Island/claiming. The two shared what many would call the perfect life, and Clarissa was both positive and content that this would last forever. That was, until she wasn’t. What began as a routine Doctor's visit soon turned dark and dismal when Avery was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Despite the best medical care the Clarington's could afford, Clarissa's love only survived for a year following their claim.  

Following Avery's death, Clarissa tried to maintain the life she’d built. But without her submissive, and love of her life, the house they’d once shared felt like nothing more than a gaping wound. The streets they’d once walked were haunted, and everywhere she looked she only saw more now tainted memories. After a year long bereavement period Clarissa returned to the Island approximately five months ago. She has taken a job as a Job Placement Coordinator at DCC, to help keep herself busy. Although she still grieves, she is ready to move on, and hopefully find a second claim. Clarissa is looking forward to seeing her brother, Hunter, someone she has been close with since birth. This is the second time in her life she’s been blessed with a second chance, and she’s petrified of losing it once again.

Being born into the Clarington family meant being raised on a diet of challenge and discipline. Physical fitness was always incredibly important as a military family, but so was mental awareness. In order to pursue the best version of himself, Hunter got involved in ROTC, gymnastics, and dance very early on. He had to be the best at everything that he did, and even the hint of a second place position would send him into a fit of anger, but it was manageable before he got his mark. He takes after his father, and is very traditional.

Nick Duval was born to serve him, and the two were raised together with the knowledge that when they became of age they would enter into a claim. However, Nick was marked a Dominant and the Clarington contingency plan had to be taken instead. According to family law, he would claim some other unclaimed Duval submissive or find someone of equal birth right. Hunter's plan was to focus on success instead, he didn't know what to do with the fact that something hadn't worked out for him. Both before and after becoming a Dominant, the apple of his eye was his younger sister, Campbell. He always made sure that he knew everything that was going on with her and treated her almost like a second father. He spoiled her, he praised her, and when she needed him to help her rise to the top he was there to give her his shoulder. He kept in contact with her until she transferred to The Academy and their rules got in between them.

Which was half of how he ended up transferring there too. The other half was an incident with steroid use, which was an expellable offense at the number one military BDSM academy where he had been caught giving steroids to himself and his unit. Because he was a Clarington, he'd been given a high amount of responsibility and in order to get his unit at the top of the rankings, he pressured them all into taking steroids to enhance their performance. He got caught because he couldn't control himself and his erratic behavior drew attention to himself and his unit. Instead of facing the scandal, the Claringtons have bought their way into an easy exit and Hunter will be able to say that he was asked to transfer to Dalton in order to join his sister, help their club activities, and add to the prestige of their student roster without spreading the real truth too far. As long as the truth doesn't get out, he still has a chance of becoming the great military leader that his family wants him to be.

Nate was the accidental product of a series of one-night stand between his career military father and anti-war protesting mother. The two met at a protest against the Vietnam War in 1971 in D.C., where a fresh-out-of-training Daniel Clarington found it particularly amusing to debate Claire Hayes, a college-drop out who, upon the release of the Pentagon Papers, decided her time was better spent getting the war-and military-shut down. One would think such a thing could blossom into love–it did not. But the sex was good, so around once a year, when they were in the same place, they would debate. That effectively ended when 9 months after their last meeting, Claire landed on Daniel’s doorstep with a bundle in her arms and a piss-poor explanation that she couldn’t keep him. Daniel, now 35, retired from the Army to care for his child.

With both the unceremonious arrival of an illegitimate child and his retirement from an esteemed position in the United States military, Daniel and Nate both were low on the totem pole of Clarington consideration as Nate grew up, which treated him just fine. While he and his father didn’t have the symbiosis of a close relationship, they held a mutual respect, as Nate was a good kid. He had good grades in school, the captain of multiple school sports, and was good at not getting caught with any of the trouble he’d get into.  

Nate joined the military for the same reasons many joined in the early 2000’s, what he calls a genetic disposition for patriotism soaring through him at the 9/11 attacks. His home had been attacked, and he wanted to defend it. However, joining the Marines, he would later admit that perhaps he was looking for at least a little glory as well. With outstanding scores on both written and physical tests (and the desperation a fully stocked Recon unit), Nate was quickly moved into the 1st Recon Battalion.

Despite the rocky start of his first deployments, the core connection of brotherhood and feeling of duty to his country kept him in the Marines for now 17 years. His current rank is Gunnery Sergeant. As of now, he’s providing training for incoming Marines at Camp Pendleton, about an hour south of Los Angeles. But with his love and knowledge, he works weekends at Fix-It garage just to pass the time.

Growing up, he assumed he was straight, really. Guys never really appealed to him, girls definitely did. But working closely with mostly sexually repressed men, including himself, his horizons were…broadened. He’s not one for relationships, really. Getting attached never did him any good.

His relationship with his mother begins and ends with the recognizing that she’s there. 1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?

When I was younger and for the entirety of my life, I wanted to be in the United States Army. Initially, my goal was to climb the ranks as quickly and as efficiently as I could, and to retire from the service. Just like my father, and his father, and his father, and his father before that. I accomplished my goal to the best and best extent of my ability, and therefore I am quite secure in stating that my younger self would be pleased. My current position is not one that I ever would have aimed for, however under the circumstances I have done my best, and continue to serve my country in any manner I am able.

2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.

My proudest accomplishment was and is serving my country.

3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?

I do exactly what I want every single day. Anyone who does not has obviously missed the plot.

where are they now?

-After Hunter was placed on trial for everything that happened at Dalton his parents were forced to pull a lot of strings to keep him out of any lasting trouble. In the end he was sent back to an even more strict military academy than the ones he had experienced before, where he was watched, trained, and drilled more than he had been in order to regain his focus and to remind him of what was important in life (at least to his family). While there he was court ordered to maintain a minimum of a 3.5 GPA, an impeccable behavioral record, and to complete 200 hours of community service. His parents made sure the latter was able to happen in as public of an eye as possible to ensure their image and his was somewhat cleaned up.

-After his graduation Hunter was allowed to attend an accelerated Bachelor's degree program, where he earned his degree in Political Science with focuses on Public Relations and Policy Analysis. He graduated in 2.5 years, and at the age of 20 was sent to the military to fulfill his Clarington destiny.

-Hunter was in the military for 9 years, and climbed to the rank of First Lieutenant. He loved everything about his job and his time in the military and felt that he was doing everything he had ever been meant to do, despite his blunders. He spent many years overseas, during which time he was exposed to war from the frontlines. It was during his time stationed in Afghanistan that himself and his platoon came under attack. Hunter saved as many men and women as he could, risking his own life to make sure his team made it out safely. He was unable to save two of his team members, and was gravely injured in the blast which claimed their lives.

-Following his injuries Hunter spent four months in a hospital, unable to leave the bed and enduring several surgeries on his shoulder, and completely losing his right leg. After he was discharged from the hospital he was forced to attend a live-in rehabilitation center, which claimed another six months of his life. Following that he was released, and was awarded both a Purple Heart and a Medal of Honor.

-Hunter was left embittered and heartbroken that his dream had come to such an end, and that his body no longer functioned or looked the way it always had, the way that he had taken such care to focus on, enhance, and maintain. With no idea what to do next, he became depressed, though it was something his parents would not allow for long. His father once again pulled some strings using Hunter's impeccable service record, and got him a high up job within the United Nations, using his degrees and his Military expertise to secure a position that would keep him involved in what had been his passion all his life.

-Hunter acts like he is better, that he has healed, but he has PTSD which he has never addressed and in fact flat-out refuses to do so. He is bitter, he is hurt, and he feels useless. He is harder on himself than anyone else ever could be, though he never opens up about his feelings, continuing to act as if everything is just fine. He maintains a steady pill habit, though it is a functional one.

Hunter grew up in an extremely privileged household, He was taught from the beginning that because of his family and who his dad was, he was superior to most if not everyone. For the most part he didn’t question it. He still doesn’t, apart from certain times after a human puts up a particularly good fight, for a human anyway. He can’t imagine voicing these thoughts though, so he pushes them and really any doubts about the NWG to the back of his mind. As the son of the Mayor he had an important image to uphold and he couldn’t show even the slightest hint of doubts.

While his telepathic aren’t as strong as his sisters his talent came from blocking others out, he doesn’t even have to really try to hide his thoughts, in fact most of the time he’d have to make an effort not to, not that he usually does. There’s a select few people he’d ever even consider letting hear what he was thinking.

Hunter was always pretty reserved as a kid and that’s continued to now, he doesn’t like to draw attention to himself and his family. It’s easier for him to keep up the family image if he’s hardly noticed. He has a very small circle of people that he trusts enough to actually be around willingly, otherwise he just kind of… exists. Most people in the night world recognize him as the mayor's son but that’s really it.

The only person he would ever put himself at risk for is his sister. He’s been fiercely protective over her since they were kids, often times taking the blame for things she had done, making sure their parents favored her over him, he’d do anything to make her happy.

Unlike most of the people around him he never developed the habit of playing with his food, he found it unnecessarily cruel and would much rather a quick kill. and despite clearly having the mindset of being above humans he didn’t take it to that level himself, but he also has no issues with it being done, it’s just a personal preference.

Bio: Sienna Marlene Banks was born straight into a Southern American dream; a large, loving extended family with a home surrounded by the picturesque white picket fence. The baby of eight children, Sienna wanted for nothing. Her father, Nelson, was a respected member of their neighborhood fire department while her mother, Renee, worked tirelessly as a stay at home mom and president of the The Marianne Scruggs Garden Club. Life was great; full of endless warm days and the joy of childhood. Sienna benefited from the guiding hands of her parents who encouraged her to find something she was passionate about. While she tried her hand at a number of different activities, only two managed to stick: singing and running cross country for her school’s track team.

With the Banks name came great responsibility. Sienna was schooled in the art of etiquette from the moment she could walk. And grew up knowing that one day she would be expected to entertain guests from every walk of life alongside her mother. With her outgoing and kind nature, hosting and the responsibilities that accompanied it came easy to Sienna. The only exception came in the shift in conversation as she got older. Suddenly everything revolved around who she imagined herself marrying and if she would have kids to carry on their family traditions. Slowly she found herself doing something she had never been forced to do before- keep a secret from her family. Because the sole crack in their picture perfect life came in the form of her parents’ strict conservative views and Sienna was slowly coming to the realization that she was gay.

She toiled under the weight of this secret all the way through her senior year of high school. Sienna had accomplished all of her parents’ dreams, she had graduated high school near the top of her class and had an acceptance letter to Brown University safely secured within her grasp. Despite her concerns about eventually coming out to her family, Sienna felt like she was on top of the world. That is, until the summer before college when one of her siblings caught her kissing a girl behind the bleachers at a track meet. The rug that was her perfect life was pulled out from under her feet. Suddenly Sienna found herself kicked out of her childhood home and cut off from contacting any of her immediate family members.

Sienna was left with one choice. She moved to Providence, RI and got her education degree from Brown University. Not a single member of family attended her graduation, a fact that made it easier for Sienna to apply for teaching positions across the United States. Outside of the social restraints of her family she discovered that she was much more easygoing and the idea of throwing applications to the wind and seeing where she landed enthralled her. At the age of 23 she accepted a position as a health teacher for Robert F. Wagner Middle School in Manhattan. The move to the big city opened up even more possibilities for exploring her identity.

It was a lazy Sunday afternoon a few weeks after she moved when Sienna wandered into a local flower shop and met Reagan Lane. They bonded over a shared love of plants, a fact Sienna utilized to her advantage before purchasing a pale pink peony to present to the shop owner. This blossomed into a routine. Every Sunday Sienna stopped by the shop to purchase flowers, becoming one of Reagan’s first dedicated customers. Every Sunday she gave Reagan a flower, until a few months later when Reagan surprised her by asking her out to dinner. It wasn’t long before they were dating exclusively and what started as a casual relationship quickly became something much deeper. They moved in together and whispered dreams of the family they would surely have someday. Much like her life back in Dallas things were going perfectly. Until Sienna realized she was falling right into the plan that had always been written for her. Here she was just twenty-four years old and settling down. She felt unexplainably trapped and instead of turning to the one person who had captured her entire heart and soul, Sienna turned to the unfamiliar arms of another woman.

This continued for months until the day that Reagan caught them in the act. She left her job and spent the next couple of years doing substitute teacher gigs across the United States. This wandering lifestyle suited her free-going nature, as did the number of casual lovers she picked up along the way. Sienna isn’t sure why she recently accepted a teaching position with East Side Middle School. Maybe it’s because she’s finally ready to settle down. I actually wanted to be a fucking teacher after I found out about Benny. When I was a kid I wanted to be a decent brother but I never got the chance because I was off at stupid military academy and never got a chance to know him. In the end I went with political studies because had to fucking do what Dad said.

So what if I had a fucking Adderall problem, if he was your father you’d have a fucking Adderall problem too; he’s lucky it’s not speed. I just spent six weeks in some stupid rehab center because clearly he has fucking spies at this school which isn’t even a fucking joke because he really does have eyes everywhere I should have been smarter but I thought I was being careful enough making my purchases. I really fucking hope it wasn’t Ben that told him.

I’m a fucking genius, I could do way more with my life than just being some Military grunt but here I am doing what I’m told getting ready to worm my way up the Military ladder just like him.

You could say I resent my upbringing and father and brother. Yeah it can make me lash out both verbally and physically. I heard enough about my temper from my father even before being shipped off to Military School.

The only way to attempt to control my anger is through exercise that I learned from our joyful father and military upbringing. Since you want to know all my deep dark secrets here’s one: sometimes, when the feelings of resentment are high, I will just wallow in my sad little feelings rather than working them because all this brainwashed need for physical exertion was indoctrinated by father but you know what I’m more likely to explode at anyone who comes near me when I get on that road.

I’m not going to talk about my mother like some baby, my eyes aren’t filled with the ghosts of my past and all that but yeah she passed when I was ten, nothing I can do about it, she was sick for a long time, that’s probably why I was always sent away to school, not that my old man ever wanted to see my fucking face anyway.

What made you want to attend Joie University? The old man picked it out for me so not really any “want” involved. Fuck knows I’m surprised the old man hasn’t forced this school to create a Krav Maga club after sending both his sons here.

Father has instilled determination and ambition in me so I never can fail at anything. We have to have three of these damn things? Okay I’m really fucking attractive. Does having a asshole dictator for a father count as a negative trait? Otherwise my temper can get my in trouble, people just piss me off and my fathers brainwashing doesn’t help. Being a perfectionist is another thing I got from Daddy dearest; sometimes my fucking obsessiveness can drive myself mad. My nicotine habit is definitely the one negative thing I’m trying to kick. At one point I would do anything to try and release my anger but fuck knows all I’m doing is practically begging to kick the bucket early.

Which of your traits do you value most? Being a genius is pretty fucking valuable.
