Ari and Dante headcanons I have bc I recently reread the books lol

SPOILER WARNING IF YOUVE NOT READ OR FINISHED THE BOOKS

- Ari and Dante get married on a beach so Dante doesn't have to wear shoes

- Dante has only spoken to Daniel twice since the Incident, Ari always squares up to Daniel when he sees him

- Dante joins Ari when he visits his fathers grave for emotional support

- Ari keeps writing his journal for as long as he can, only stopping when his age catches up to him

- Dante regularly uses Ari as a model for his drawings, as well as Sophocles

- Only dante and Liliana are allowed to call Ari by his first name, and only them

- Ari will not hesitate to throw hands to defend dante, he's ride or die for his bf

- Cassandra, Gina, Susie, Ari and Dante regularly try and hang out when they're all in El Paso, or just the same state/place

- They also make an annual thing of going to the desert in Ari's truck, with beer, food and maybe a little bit of weed to just laugh and talk and have fun together

- Dante hates talking about what happened to him (the Incident) and on the rare occasion he does bring it up or talk about it, he's full of tears

- Ari likes making rules just as much as Dante, but will never admit it out loud

- Ari and Dante love babysitting Sophocles

- Cassandra and Ari deffo have super deep talks which are swiftly followed by them making fake insults at each other bc they don't know how to deal with emotions™️

- Gina, Susie and Dante are such menaces when left alone together

- Ari and Cassandra are basically their impulse control

- Gina and Susie like to tease Ari about how much he loves Dante (e.g. they make sure to tell Dante how Ari talks about him with such a love struck look to them, Dante adores hearing this, even if it's at ari's expense)

- Liliana and Soledad often hang out, they talk about their kids and Sophocles gets lots of attention from Liliana, making her reminisce about when her kids were that small

- I think that Ari has a rule now that prohibits the mention of Bernardo. He's over it and wants nothing to do with him

- Ari rereads his letters from his aunt Ophelia, and I think he deffo talks about her a lot
