The thing about the fabric of reality rewriting itself is that it also rewired Miro’s brain. One minute he was dreamlessly asleep, alone; the next minute he woke up with a direct link to Luka in his head. He could feel the man sleeping across town, could feel the tremors of his bad dream and how it shook his body.

THIS IS WEIRD. AND NOT JOYFUL. The ending is ambiguous on purpose, but I welcome theorizing because I had a blast when all the pieces fell into place as I was editing.
