what a good girl you are,
giving youngie such a good fucking show
[4:24 AM]
And you were. Your panties hung off your ankle, pants long since thrown off in a direction you couldn’t recall, your legs spread wide open with two fingers stretching you open. The sliver of moonlight shining through the parted blinds reflected onto the sweat beading over your forehead, while that coating your thighs remained concealed by the shadow cast by your duvet. Breathy moans blew out of you, your eyes squeezing shut before reopening to check your screen for new messages.
You didn’t plan for this to happen, for an innocent friendship riddled with flirtatious banter—that you thought was entirely ‘just for fun’—progressing to this: touching yourself to Wooyoung’s words, the both of you naturally slipping into a role you’d wordlessly assigned to each other. Part of you wondered if he was doing the same, yearned to witness the pretty flush of his skin as he pumped his cock to your needy replies, but the pleasure you were feeling, encouraged by his lust-driven words, made you all too delirious to ask.
who knew my precious y/n would turn out to be a cumslut?
not only does she want so much cum filling her hole up that it leaks out of her
but my baby wants to come and come again, until she’s too sensitive to touch~
[4:26 AM]
Your pussy gushed hot arousal, sensing it push past your fingers and down to sink into your sheets. Clenching tightly at his words, your mind wandered and painted images of how Wooyoung’s cock would split you open to stuff you full of his thick cum, how veiny hands would find their way between your legs to play with your clit, mercilessly gliding over the sensitive nub until your body spasmed and shivered in his firm hold.
Spreading your thighs further, the duvet sliding down your body and allowing the cool air to infiltrate its interior, you curled your fingers into your g-spot and drowned out the sound of your squelching pussy as you desperately chased your high.
youngie will definitely touch baby when she finally falls asleep
and he’s gonna cum so many times
so so many fucking times on his baby’s body
[4:27 AM]
You shuddered at the thought. Your skin tingling, imagining Wooyoung ravishing you in your sleep, warm hands caressing your skin while you slumbered, dipping between your folds to feel how wet he’d made you earlier, drawing small circles over your sensitive clit and watching your muscles jerk unconsciously. He’d trace the hole he’d stretched out less than an hour ago, a trail of his cooling cum still seeping out, and he’d opt to plug you back up with his cock, making sure you held on to his seed for more hours to come.
You wanted to wake up in the early morning to the blackbirds’ harmonies, the warmth so eminent in your lower belly making you drowsy again, but Wooyoung would awake to the gentle squeeze of your walls around him, and fuck you back to sleep with a fresh pool of cum in your womb.
want to use you like the fuckdoll you are
because you're such a good fucking girl
the perfect, sluttiest baby, youngie could never get enough of you baby
[4:28 AM]
You huffed in annoyance as your orgasm remained out of reach, your thighs shaking as you flipped onto your stomach, laying your phone down on your pillow so you could read the incoming messages while your fingers continued to pump into your pussy, a stream of watery slick now dripping down your forearm. Your vision blurred as hot shots of pleasure seared through your body with every forceful prod into your g-spot, violent trembles overtaking your limbs as you fucked yourself to completion, all while Wooyoung’s words staring back at you through the bright screen.
You wished he could see you spread out for him like this, cunt up in the air and leaking as you thought about his cock ruining it, squeezing around his throbbing length so tight he’d never want to pull out. You wanted him to find himself unable to hold back from fucking you dumb every chance he got, for his every thought to be occupied by your cunt, your taste, your sweet sounds. You wanted his mouth on you, nose nuzzling into your clit while his tongue danced around your hole, slurping up everything you gave him before pushing his fingers past your entrance and forcing you to give him more.
Fuckdoll. You wanted to be Wooyoung’s fuckdoll. For him to use you like a toy, hammering his cock into you until every last drop of his cum had been milked out and swallowed by your greedy cunt.
youngie wants to make his baby cry
wants to make her cry out in pleasure
want y/n to shake from cumming so hard
[4:30 AM]
With the images now engraved into your mind, you reached your other hand down to touch your clit, your eyes rolling back and your spine arching painfully at the first contact. Black dots danced in your unfocused vision, the chat bubbles mushing together into one blob of light, and your sore muscles contracting when your orgasm finally rushed through you. Fingers chasing your retreating hips, your walls clenched sporadically while you attempted to elongate the pleasure, your body tense and nerves on overdrive during your descent down the steep hill of your high.
You could see more messages come in, but your eyelids drooped in exhaustion, and your fingers moved languidly to squeeze out the last of your energy, tingles of pleasure numbing your curled toes.
Flopping down onto the bed, you felt your cum drying on the inside of your thighs, a pool of it drying on the sheets under you. You rubbed damp, pruney fingers into your sore hips, reaching out to grab your phone with a shaky hand. Blinking slowly, the breath you’d just managed to even out quickened once more, heart hammering against your ribcage, and you eyed the call button for longer than you’d like to admit. It was a simple message, and despite this being the first time you’d done this with him, Wooyoung seemingly knew exactly how your body operated. He knew what you wanted to hear, what made you clench around your fingers, what made you leak and arch your back, and most importantly, what made you come.
is my baby cumming?

mingi jolts upright, looking around frantically, trying to determine if he’s still stuck in the nightmare. his eyes fall on your warm figure snoring lightly next to him, and his gaze immediately softens. he sighs in relief, knowing that at least you're safe in real life. as he lets himself lay back down, he gently puts an arm around you and snuggles up to you from behind, never intending to let you go again.

san pulls you in for more cuddles, burying his face in your chest. you would've gladly stayed there for the next few hours, but there was a slight problem: you were deadly ticklish. you try to pull away unsuccessfully a couple times but eventually give in, not in any small part because of how calming his morning voice is. he could say anything with that voice and you'd give him whatever he asked for, even if it meant painfully stifling your laughter until he was satisfied.
⋆ "let's sleep in," he mumbles, "the world can wait a little longer to see your beautiful face today." ⋆

seonghwa is making you both breakfast. when you awoke, you half expected to still be wrapped in his arms where you fell asleep last night, the two of you further enveloped in a blanket burrito against the cold. instead, the smell of the eggs cooking draws you into the kitchen, still half asleep. there, you see him expertly cracking the next egg into the pan with one hand. he smiles somewhat boastfully as he sees you come in, staring in disbelief at the perfectly halved eggshell.

you and yunho are out on a lunch date, taking a walk in the dog park and enjoying the breezy day after having some slightly overpriced yet delicious gourmet sandwiches at the family-owned cafe down the street. as you sip your iced tea taken to-go from the restaurant, you notice that every dog seems to want to approach yunho. he smiles back at you sheepishly, he can't help that they all seem to like him (and you can't blame them, either.) you both stop to pet all of them and eventually end up laying in the grass under the shade of a tree, breathing in the scent of freshly turned earth and contemplating the addition of a new family member:
⋆ "should we get a dog ourselves next time?" ⋆

wooyoung took you shopping at the mall, and he just came out of the fitting room for the sixth time with a new outfit. it doesn't bother you, since you had just changed into your fourth in the room next to him a couple minutes ago. you and him both insist on only buying entire outfits at a time, never settling for a single good piece that didn't go with the rest of the clothes you had. just as you're about to suggest how that jacket would be much better on him in red than in black, he suddenly pulls you into his stall and closes the door without warning, a shit-eating grin on his face.

[4:17 p.m. <hongjoong - draw and draw>]
you decided to follow hongjoong into the studio today. he'd promised to take you on a tour recently, and you were curious about the place where he spent so many of his waking (and what should've been his sleeping) hours. you both have an insightful conversation with the edenary team about what it's like to be a professional producer, since writing and producing music had once been a hobby of yours and you were familiar with some of the equipment and techniques, impressing hongjoong. he knew you'd made a couple songs but didn't really know how much you were interested in this. also, he hadn't pushed you about those songs because he was afraid they might be too personal to you. he knew from firsthand experience how making music could be a deeply emotional experience, and that those songs were the result of many nights spent aching alone in your room years ago. but after your studio date, he decides to take a risk:
⋆ "you know, i would love to hear some of your old songs, if you're willing to show me." ⋆

you had noticed yeosang looking a little overwhelmed at today's fanmeet. his professional smile had seemed to be fixed on his face and he had hardly spoken a word once they got out. and when you asked him if he wanted to go to the usual place, his only answer was a nod. the skate park is completely empty at this time, and you watch in awe as yeosang pulls tricks that make it seem like he's flying against the backdrop of stars. out here, he seems to release all his worries to the cool night breeze, his concentration fully on his feet, the rises and dips in the concrete, and the board he's trusting his life to between them. unnoticed, you slip away to the fried chicken shop a couple blocks from the park, knowing the owners will greet you with a meaningful smile as you and yeosang had come here countless times before. tonight, however, the restaurant is packed with students enjoying some fast food for a weeknight dinner, and you want to save yeosang the trouble. when he sees you returning with the chicken, the corners of his mouth immediately pull upward and he almost looks like he's holding back tears. he holds it inside, but he wants to thank you for everything, for noticing how he felt today, for offering to come to the skate park with him, for knowing what he needed without him having to ask, because you know he would never want to put anything on your shoulders. but you don't need all of those words to understand, so he doesn't say all of that, because you already know. and for that, he will forever be grateful.
⋆ "thank you." ⋆

[11:17 pm <ateez - one day at a time>]
the night has just begun at the coin karaoke you brought jongho to, and you're smiling ear to ear as he shows to you with each passing moment that this was the perfect place to bring him for valentine's day. singing was your absolute favorite thing in the world, and even though you couldn't hit the high notes as flawlessly as he did, you're both on top of the world as you belt out the lyrics to everything from ballads to musicals to rock. you already know all the rap parts to the songs you both chose by heart, and have a lot of fun almost outrapping top names in the industry. jongho teaches you the dance moves to some classic girl group songs, and you giggling at him only motivates him to dance even harder. around 2 a.m., you both end the night on a beautiful, familiar melody:
⋆ " when it's overwhelming, hold on tight i'll be here, don't forget it, cause in life, sometimes you need a helping hand, you'll be alright, just take it slow, one day at a time." ⋆

What is unfathomably more terrifying than ATEEZ playing mafia without supervision?
Dead silent dorms and intra-ATEEZ rivalry.
Ever since the shoot for the new retail collection for ARNURI, which marked the beginning of a prolonged collaboration between ATEEZ and your fashion brand, the tension between a certain two members was uncomfortably high.
Both Hongjoong and San had radically different ways of pushing each other into a rage mode headspace, which initially had been a source of light entertainment, but soon enough turned into a betting opportunity for some, and a major headache for the one remaining ATEEZ kindergarten employee.
Like how many times in one day can Hongjoong pull rank... how many times can San sneak in the dropping of honorifics and how many times can he start talking over Hongjoong JUST before he stops talking...
The list could go on. But it was a passive aggressive battlefield that made conversation between the members nearly impossible.
Take last night's dinner for example. After Wooyoung had spent an unreasonable amount of hours making quiche, with Seonghwa following his every move like a paper towel warrior, the members were hangry, tired, and in a mood to start drama.
The first minute, five, ten minutes... passed uneventfully, with the only outliers to the calm being Jongho tuning into a live football match on his phone and Mingi bobbing his head to something only he could hear in his head.
And then, the eleventh minute struck. And with it, Hongjoong's nerve.
"Right, guys, so we have another event with ARNURI tomorrow, and I don't know about you but-"
"-Do you guys think we should gift Y/N something? I mean, she has been so patient and so kind to us." San interjected, a sly grin on his face as he openly challenged the captain with his mischief.
"give me the won bills, my guy" Jongho mumbled, putting his elbow on the table and moving his arm so his palm was facing the ceiling, and as close to Yeosang as possible.
"not yet, needs to be three in a row for 'conversational edging' combo to be counted." he whispered back as-a-matter-of-factly, swatting the maknae's hand away by giving it a high five.
"Hold up are you bettin-" Mingi began, having left his musical trance once San and Hongjoong had started their episode, but was quickly interrupted by Yeosang's quick move to cover his mouth.
"Shh... you might get percentages." he warned and let Mingi come to his conclusions, and take up the business proposal.
"Ahem, as I was saying, okay I do have got to give it to San here, that is a really good idea and I am more than happy to pick out something for Y/N that I know she will like-"
"Oh and you know what, I think I already have the right gift for her so just leave it to me guys and we'll be sorted-"
"CHOI SAN!"
"Damn that was fast." Jongho cursed under his breath as he slid a crisp note to Yeosang under the table, who then motioned in cryptic body signals to Mingi that they will split it later. Maybe he understood, maybe he didn't, but the prospect of gaining something from the shitshow was encouraging enough.
"Yes?" San responded to the now vexed leader, totally unperturbed.
"Can you stop?"
"Stop what?"
"This shit."
"But you're unstoppable Hongjoong-ah." San quipped, grinning as gasps erupted around the table.
Seonghwa was beginning to get more and more concerned as he saw his roommate slowly lower his metal spoon and press it into the table, until it was nearly bending. He placed a nervous hand onto the captain's shoulder in an attempt to snap him out of whatever was about to happen.
But no chance. Hongjoong stood up, forcing Seonghwa away.
"Look. Choi San. I do not know what has gotten into you. Actually, I very much do. But why the fuck do you want to start beef all the time?"
"So what exactly-"
"What are you? KOREAN BARBECUE?"
That made San falter - an unusual response to the food, especially considering that upon hearing that, he glanced over at Wooyoung and Seonghwa. This made Hongjoong narrow his eyes, but as he was about to ask a question about whether there was some conspiracy he did not know about, San did end up mustering a response.
"I- I just think you are trying too hard and to no avail, bro."
"Trying to do what?"
"Oh we are talking about the same fine lady here, aren't we?"
"OH you mean how your thirsty ass is committing every form of social disrespect trying to get Y/N to notice you?"
"Excuse you, I am just making conversation unlike your mousy and terrified ass."
"Ass?" Mingi was back in the game, having zoned out for a couple of seconds.
"Yes, Mingi, they are fighting over ass, it's okay, it happens sometimes." Yunho rubbed his friend's back in a fatherly manner, patting it a couple of times for good measure as he nodded slowly.
"That is just rude, man what the-" Hongjoong diverted his attention to Mingi, who had already grasped the lever on his breakfast bar chair and started sliding downwards.
Not that it helped much, only making a previously stoic Yunho spin away to try compose himself, and Yeosang fold his hands in prayer and position them in the most magnificent 'boi' form.
"Oh, look at Hongjoong being a fucking white knight." a strong hit from San, using his opponent's momentary distraction to his advantage.
"That is an online term, you oaf." Yeosang corrected quietly, pointing his hands at the man, who had stood up to match Hongjoong.
"Get off my dick dude-"
Yeosang mimicked looking through a pair of binoculars in response to San's distressed whisper, making the man groan.
"All of this is so anti-bro code, shame shame." Yeosang continued, only this time a little louder, causing Hongjoong and San to roll their eyes. The former recovered a little quicker, and attempted to intercept, but San was fast on the comeback, not giving the older member any chances.
"Again-"
"SIMP~" San boomed, making a tube with his hands to amplify his shouting.
"DOUBLE KILL." Yunho joined in, covering his mouth to make his voice sound as close to the video games he had been playing as possible.
Wooyoung had fallen off his chair, and was currently becoming one with the carpet as he had reached the point of a laughing fit where one could no longer produce sound and had to resort to being a fish, flopping about in the drama.
"RIGHT! I cannot stand this childishness any longer. You have been the biggest pain for the last few days and I am DONE trying to handle it or to be the bigger person, OKAY? If you want no rules. You'll get no rules. Except now, don't expect me to go easy on you."
The room fell silent, aside from Wooyoung slapping the floor and wheezing, and a deep, exasperated sigh from Seonghwa, who was massaging his temples like a mother at a parent teacher conference.
Hongjoong stormed away from the group, nearly ripping his jacket off the coat hanger and shoving headphones into his ears, with an aggressive announcement that he was going to the studio.
Again. That same silence.
Wooyoung managed to fight off the rest of his giggles and stand up, leaning on San for support. As he wiped his tears away, he looked to the eldest member, who began to gather Hongjoong's cutlery and what was left over of the meal.
"Hwa, you good?" San tried, any trace of anger and rebellion having evaporated at an astonishing speed.
"Uh... don't you think that was a bit much?" Seonghwa looked up, concern etched on his face.
"But you know what I'm trying to do, don't you?"
"Yeah, and I still think it's a bit too much."
"Oh, just you wait. Hongjoong likes a challenge." Wooyoung added, wrapping an arm around San's neck while he snapped pictures of the nearly gone quiche as evidence that it had been, in fact, edible.
"So. Special ops unit 'flower umbrella', care to explain what the fuck are you guys plotting before I force the answers out of you?"
All eyes were on Jongho, who had put his phone face down, right in front of him on the table, and had intertwined his fingers in a 'plotting murder' manner. His unreadable expression made Wooyoung, San and Seonghwa uneasy, and they began to play the eye game of 'who is going to say it'.
--
As Hongjoong was stomping his way to the studio, he was blasting songs that he recalled you had mentioned to him in the little chats you had shared. Him being very music-driven, of course he had taken the chance to ask what you enjoyed listening to.
So that was how he had ended up embarking on the feels train listening to "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" by The Smiths. Not quite the best choice when he was ready to smash a fist through a wall, but alas, at least it reminded him of you, and how calm you could stay amidst chaos.
He wondered if San knew this information too. What had you been chatting about with him? He had seen you laughing a couple of times whilst with him. That sneaky bastard. Openly declaring war and then not... joking? Who did that guy think he was?
Hongjoong could not help but beat himself up inside. He really was a coward, wasn't he? Every time he talked to you he would just giggle like a stereotypical shy anime school girl, all while staring at you like a damn puppy. He could not help it.
Being around you had an inexplicably strong effect on him to the point where he struggled to even have the role of captain. Hell, he even missed instructions a couple of times if you were next to the photographer.
And of course "Be My Druidess" by Type O Negative had to start playing at that exact moment. He huffed, rushing into KQ and zooming past security. Studio, studio, studio. He needed to just be alone for a second.
Once he had arrived, and locked himself in, he turned off the music and left all his belongings by the mixing equipment. Then, he waddled over into the recording booth, cautiously shutting the door behind him.
He took a deep breath. Almost meditative. And then let out
the most FRUSTRATED SCREAM into the void that was the noise isolating foam and thick concrete walls.
Taking a couple more steadying breaths, he stepped out again, and crashed onto the spinning chair before him.
San was a little shit.
San did not know you like Hongjoong did.
Hongjoong missed you.
Hongjoong did NOT want you to be the one who got away even before you could get together.
He picked up his phone, fiddling with it a couple of times. Unlocking it and locking it again. He looked at the bracelet, the one you had complimented, still on his wrist. There was no other way. He had to do it. After a glance at the time on the screen, he deliberated once again - what if he came across as a creeper who was contacting a co-worker way outside of appropriate hours?
But he did have your number - you had given it to him on the first day, explaining that he was 'the lead figure of ATEEZ'. That had made his heart swell with pride. But also shit bricks because he had your number but did not text you a single time so you did not have his?
His mind was moving at lightning speed. Oh well, if he did not take this chance, there would never be another.
<Unknown Number> Hi! So sorry for the late hour, this is Hongjoong!
He bit his lip, doubting his use of exclamation points. Was he being desperate? Was this too much?
<you> Oh Hongjoong, hi!!! I was wondering when you'd text lol
<hongjoong> Yeah... so sorry about that, it's been really wild lately
<you> I get you :) hopefully the shoot and generally the collab isn't putting too much pressure on you? If it is just let me know and I'll tell the designers to back off for a bit!
<hongjoong> Nonono seriously it is the best part of my day!
<you> Wow well I am glad to hear it!
<hongjoong> You are amazing
He slapped himself across the face as he reread what he had accidentally sent. Now you were definitely going to beat any records of fastest time to block someone.
<you> haha right back at you :)
His heart swelled and he wiggled his legs, but quickly stopped himself and pondered whether this was genuinely because you thought he was amazing or because you were scared and thought he was mildly unhinged.
Well bold of him to assume one or the other, because in reality, you just found him adorable.
Out of all the ATEEZ members, as you had expected, he had gotten the energy of ARNURI straight away. There had been no hiccups with him, no miniature coaching sessions about how to properly pose in the clothing so that not only did it look good but also told a story.
He knew what you were trying to do without you having to explain it a million times (which sometimes even your own employees needed), and although he couldn't quite get his words out when he was talking with you, there was no particular need. PHANTASMOS had been second nature to him.
All you could think about was how the future ATEEZ x ARNURI collection was going to look on him. It would be the world's biggest lie if you were to say you had not been working on his selection of items the longest. As a matter of fact, long before the potential to collaborate had even appeared on the horizon.
It was only natural - you had seen him wear your items, and you had a good eye for fitting and guessing what styling would work on whom. So, he had turned into a vision, a muse for you. In the times when you could sit in your personal studio and hone your craft, create to your heart's content, Hongjoong would be in the corner of your mind, his form - a canvas for your sketches.
Though for the actual ATEEZ x ARNURI collection you had ended up preparing entirely new drafts since they had to match and 'speak' to the others', you did have a couple of samples done for Hongjoong's solo looks, simply to be displayed on a mannequin for you to admire and reminisce on your journey. One which this man had influenced in many ways.
And now he was right in your phone screen. You had no reason to give him your number, since the majority of business interactions were being handled by your PA, marketing and relationship management. But on a whim you did it anyways. You were kind of proud of how coolly you went about it too. Casually taking out a blank card, noting down the digits and passing them to him between two fingers.
Okay maybe a little cringey in retrospect but he was not one to judge - not from how you had noticed him smiling like an idiot as, after finishing the conversation and with you 'totally paying attention to what one of the makeup artists was saying', he had shuffled into a corner of the photo studio, behind some equipment, unclipped his phone case and slid the card safe inside.
Curiosity was getting the best of you - you were happy, yes, but there must be some reason why Hongjoong had spontaneously decided to get in contact with you.
<you> So what's got you burning the midnight oil?
After what felt to be a minute, Hongjoong replied:
<hongjoong> At the studio right now, kind of in the mood of wanting to compose but not knowing what.
<you> That makes two of us, just I'm in a fashion studio and wanting to sketch haha
<hongjoong> Now that sounds amazing! What kinds of clothes?
<you> Well I have been very much on the ATEEZ ship as of late, so most of my ideation is dedicated to that
<you> Actually, can we have a quick call? I want to run some ideas by you if it's okay :)
<hongjoong> Sure!!
And there you were, two workaholics in your respective studios, showing each other around and talking for what had ended up being a little over four hours. You had indeed showed him some of the ideas you had, including a couple of iterations for chain harnesses that could be used to complete looks for some of the members.
Needless to say, you could make him blush and exhibit obvious jealous undertones at your command, and at the same time, make him look like the happiest man on the planet just by a couple of well-timed words. He seemed to have a particularly sharp reaction to when you mentioned San, and a choker that you had prepared.
You were not sure what the story there was, because San had been nothing but friendly to you, and as a matter of fact, had been showering their captain with praise and practically giving you a Hongjoong sales pitch. But you decided to not press the matter further. ATEEZ will be ATEEZ.
When he had played a couple of songs for you and explained how he had been working on them, you decided to go into a compliment monologue. You wished you could translate his shy laughter into a design. How could one recreate Kim Hongjoong in an article of clothing? In an outfit? It would be lifetimes before that could be achieved. So for the time being, you were content with cradling your phone screen as you listened to Hongjoong.
Somehow, the conversation turned into My Chemical Romance appreciation, as you divulged that yes, you may be goth, but that did not somehow limit you nor did it mean you were to look down upon anything else. Quite the opposite, the culture you followed had given you nothing but love, and all you wanted was to share it. And a part of this love was given to the band, who you enjoyed blasting while working, while commuting, and simply just because you wanted to sit there, head empty, and listen to them.
While you were rambling away about The Black Parade album, the songs you liked from it such as the classic - Teenagers, and about MCR's legendary comeback, Hongjoong was slammed full force by a EUREKA moment, and discreetly he noted it down on a stray post-it note. He knew exactly what he would gift to you that would beat anything and everything. At least he hoped it would.
Once the call had ended, he did not go home. In fact, he had gone to the photoshoot directly from the studio, much to the discontent of his manager and the concern of his members. But did he give a shit? No. He had spent the entire night talking, and creating for his love. He was not going to lie about it anymore. It was true. He was not a fan. He wanted so much more. And he was going to fight for it.
Fight me. Choi San. I dare you.
Such calls became a regular occurrence, since conveniently enough both of you were night owls (to the point where it was confusing what time zone you actually lived in). They had also served to lighten up his mood, to the point where after a couple of days he had stopped giving San the silent treatment (aside from captain's orders) and promoted the member back to acquaintanceship status.
The members noticed that you and him had become much closer in regular, in person interactions too, and as the days went on, you would spend a lot longer in one another's company. To the point where San could not keep up his game any more. Not that he had any opportunity to, since as soon as he was to make a beeline for you, Hongjoong would be right there, with a question, a joke, a random comment, or a small gift.
He had taken to discussing clothing modification with you, bringing some of his projects with him a couple of times, which you were more than happy to feedback on and even wreak havoc together with him. With the various trinkets that he was giving you, thanks to Wooyoung's creativity, some of the members had taken to calling Hongjoong 'the magpie man'.
But weeks passed, the shoots and collaborative design sessions were being wrapped up, and Hongjoong had settled into some kind of odd routine with you - one which you began to be dissatisfied with. It was as though he had started decelerating. As you watched the ATEEZ members being prepared for another, now video shoot for a series of promotions for the ATEEZ x ARNURI collection (the designs of which had been finalised ahead of schedule thanks to a certain captain helping you catch the essence of his group), you wondered if there was something that had influenced Hongjoong's firey pursuit in the first place...
Whilst observing their interactions, your eyes finally settled on him. None other than Choi San. The one member other than Hongjoong who had been extra friendly with you, but recently also stepped off the gas. Were they competing in some way? But San was literally talking about the other member most of the time-
Oh.
Oh. Now it made sense. You could not help but smile. Oh this was elaborate. In true ATEEZ fashion. All you needed was confirmation.
"Sannie? Could you come here for a moment?" purposefully using his nickname to highlight how you guys were 'so close', you called for his attention. Thus calling the attention of every other member too.
He seemed to catch the drift, or at least the not-so-gentle shove from Wooyoung helped, as he called back with a nickname and sauntered right to you, resembling a cat on the prowl. You caught Hongjoong's glare darting from you to him. Soon enough, he was glowering.
"Alright, San," you beckoned him closer to you, to which he obliged, "tell me about your plan regarding Hongjoong, will you?"
"Ah so it was kind of obvious..." he rubbed the back of his neck, looking off to the side.
"Evidently not, since I am only bringing this up now."
"But yeah. Okay. Long story short - he likes you. A lot. And that has only gotten more intense, so we decided to give him a couple of nudges."
"We?"
"Oh yeah this was Woo's plan." he pointed in his friend's direction, who appeared to have been ready, all this time, to make a cute pose and wave at you.
"Right."
"And then Hwa kind of improved it so it's more natural."
"Unexpected, but okay I see it."
"And then... um. Basically something happened and the rest of the guys are on the cheer squad."
"This is unbelievable." you stated, keeping your voice intentionally monotone.
"I'm really sorry. I know this is probably really silly and-"
"I want in."
"You- what now? Hold up can you back track."
"Well I think the main point to address is that, yes, I do indeed like Hongjoong too. A lot. And I am disappointed that he is a bit to comfortable right now."
"Now we're talking! See, San told you." Yunho, who was halfway through getting his makeup done but excused himself to hear the monumental tea, had appeared beside you, and soon enough you three had formed a huddle.
"Yunho, it wasn't too hard to guess I recall explicitly telling you I thought Hongjoong to be handsome."
"Yeah but who knows... maybe it was a fashion thing. I was judging more from the body language. And some other stuff but that's a company secret." Yunho explained, and winked.
"Dang, well. Nice. So, I think we sort of understand each other?"
"We all want Hongjoong to stop being a little bitch and confess?" San asked, making your eyes widen, as you were nonplussed at the choice of words.
"Precisely," Yunho agreed, entirely not phased, "which is why I propose operation 'Jealous Joong'. Even though he is like a tired dad most of the time, hate to break it to you, he has this sort of switch. If he really wants something, he will do anything to get it. And I think the same applies if it is someone we are talking about."
"You are more devious than I thought." you praised him, slowly clapping your hands together at the fun facts you had just been given.
"Never trust the innocent-looking ones." San warned you in a light-hearted tone.
"Noted, mister 'I will burn through the camera with my sultry gaze'."
"I'll take it. Now, my lady, let's go give Joongie some hell."
"Let's get this show on the road!"
And oh boy, was this quite the show. San's demeanour towards you had changed almost fully. He amped up the touchiness, requested that it was you who would be finalising his looks, making you float around him, and him alone.
This was riling up Hongjoong until his blood was boiling. He felt cheated. At the same time, Yunho, Wooyoung and Seonghwa kept on trying to grab his attention, while simultaneously making not so pleasant comments about what they were seeing between you and San. Feeding Hongjoong's turbulent emotions.
And San kept it up, right until the end of the shoot for the say, when Hongjoong, after saying a curt thanks, bolted out of the building, not caring for the staff that had ended up having to chase after him. Initially you thought that what you had agreed to do might have been to much, but Seonghwa, with two thumbs up, had reassured you that what was achieved was the optimum.
Sure enough, it did not take too long for Hongjoong to make an appearance. At one twenty-three. In the morning. Somehow managing to sneak into ARNURI, and right up to the door to your office, where you were still sat, enjoying the pleasures of filtering through massive email chains.
A couple of knocks on the door made you take a decorative bird skull in your hand, before attempting to not stutter as you said 'come in'. But there he was. As promised. A disheveled and determined Hongjoong, holding something tightly in his hand.
"Hi. Yeah. I am back. So. Sorry. For this afternoon. I don't know what had gotten into me. But. I just. I just want to share something with you. It's been something I have been working on the last couple of weeks, and well, uhm, I guess before you make any decisions or anything like that I just wanted to... gift it to you? Sorry, I know it is probably ridiculous but-"
"I'd love to listen to it, Joongie. Is it on a memory stick?" you pointed at his fist as he nodded vigorously and approached to pass it to you.
Promptly, you plugged it into your computer, and in a matter of a minute, the air was filled with Hongjoong's incredible cover of 'Teenagers', with him having added a well-matched, self-composed rap verse. His nerve. His energy. They were incomparable to anything you had heard.
And to think you had begun to doubt that he liked you and was getting cold... on the contrary, his feelings only got deeper. When the song finished, and you two were in quietude once more, Hongjoong began to fill the silence with his worries:
"So yeah. That was that. I just wanted to play this for you because you know, you like the original a lot. And I am sorry for causing you the trouble you probably did not want to be disturbed and here I am-"
"I loved it, Hongjoong. Seriously."
"Thanks..." he trailed off, not being able to meet you as you stood up from your desk.
"Let me show you something in return. Follow me."
You led him through a side door in your office and into your personal studio. Once you turned on one of the floor lamps, you asked Hongjoong to inspect one of the mannequins. The mannequin. Hongnequin.
Hongjoong was speechless as he gaped at the intricate needlework, the hints of shimmer in just the right places, like deep space collected in a suit. He turned to you about to sing praises, but became even more floored as you said to him:
"This is yours."
"Huh?"
"Hopefully I got the size right."
"Wait... when? How?"
"It's... been a while. Care to make a poor designer happy and give them a little try on?"
As you asked that, suddenly, Hongjoong got bold and came close to you, so your faces were mere inches away. He studied you, and tentatively placed his hands on your waist. As you made not move to reject him, he pulled you a little closer:
"You actually made this for me... it is so beautiful. You really are a star."
"And what's your wish upon a star?"
"Can the star be mine?"
"Finally."
And you closed the gap between you with a sweet kiss, resting your arms around his neck and shoulders, relishing in the sensation.
Once you broke away, gleaming and with you giggling at the fact that Hongjoong whispered to himself that 'you were actually his girlfriend now wow', you couldn't help but want to make the moment even more delightful, perhaps just for yourself.
"I should definitely thank San and the gang for this."
"Excuse you?"
"Yeah, apparently if they had not provoked you... who knows..."
The group was in for an interesting night, as once Hongjoong was back, he announced his presence by yelling out a loving
"SEONGHWA YOU TRAITOR!"
"DON'T TALK TO HIM LIKE THAT HE MADE FOOD TONIGHT!" Wooyoung shouted back across the apartment, making some of the already sleeping members cuss him out from within their rooms.
"Uh, hi? Hongjoong? Back from studio?" Seonghwa was peering out from their shared room, an oversized hood covering the majority of his face as he tried to wake up.
"No, back from visiting my girlfriend who kindly revealed to me that I live with a bunch of rats????"
"WEE WOO WEE WOO LADS HONGJOONG HAS ACQUIRED A GOTH GF ALL IS GOOD IN THE WORLD!" Wooyoung sounded like a megaphone, racing out of his room and almost smashing the door open to San's, but the later was ready, for he immediately joined in by chanting:
"goth gf goth gf gotH GF GOTH GF-"
"I will end all of you. Now HWA??? HOW DID THOSE TWO DEMON CHILDREN FIND ANYTHING OUT IN THE FIRST PLACE? WHERE, INFO, WHEN?"
"You know the restaurant I showed you a bit of time back?" the eldest recounted.
"Yeah the one with A5 grade beef."
"Well... they took me there. In exchange for a Hongjoong info drop."
"You know what? I can't even be mad. Plus, I am too happy to do anything right now. You got lucky. Now let's sleep, I have a date tomorrow!" Hongjoong squealed, hopping to the room much to the amusement of the members who had been bothered to sacrifice their beauty sleep.
But as he walked past a smiling San, his smile had instantly turned demonic, as he tilted his head and whispered:
"And you and I will have a long and intimate talk tomorrow. Prepare yourself, For I like to extend the fun."
Although San was not looking forward to it, he gave himself a pat on the back. This was what the real bro code was.
--
After the launch of the collaborative line and the promotions, ARNURI's sales went through the roof. Some items had sold out instantly, others already had long pre-order lists. You were being invited to shows rather than having to fight tooth and nail for it. You had scheduled participations in official weeks, mid-season events and more. Again, all thanks to your inspiration, your muse, your partner, Kim Hongjoong.
As the collaboration had been close enough, you two could easily hide your relationship from the public. But after what had come to be a little over a year of you flying solo on the media, you had chosen to reveal your relationship in as an extravagant way possible.
Camera flashes. Journalists. Designers. Models. VIPs. At Seoul Fashion Week, there was no place were there were no people. Crowds of enthusiastic fashionistas combatted with the press to get a closer glimpse at those on the red carpet, and went wild as you stepped out. Dressed in a gorgeous onyx ARNURI gown, hugging you in just the right places. Hongjoong immediately followed, and joined you, with his hand on the small of your back to protect his star. Dressed in the matching suit that you had designed just for him, for your muse.

He was dressed like an angel that came from above to bless people with his mere presence for an hour or so.
But you knew better than to believe the innocent smile on his face right now, he IS the definition of wolf in sheep’s clothing.
They all should’ve known better, so you don’t even feel bad for what was about to happen.
The ringtone echoed through the walls of the dorm.
Seonghwa was the one that got the honorable mission of retrieving the food safely.
The food arrived right on time as everyone got as comfortable as possible to watch the very last episode of the drama you both did together on Netflix
It was Yunho’s request, one that nobody thought anything of it because it made sense, right? It was an event worth celebrating for in every ateez member’s mind, the end of a very promising drama, that could lead to a very successful career in the future, for both Yunho and you.
They were elated for this. Everyone promised to watch on their own and wait for the last episode.
They were dying to know if the couple got together or not, even it was obvious it was supposed to be a romance-focused drama. It was engaging, ok? No one can judge them for caring way too much about those fictional characters. (Maybe there was a huge debate about who was right or wrong on the last episode three days ago on their group chat, but that’s normal!)
The last episode ended on a high tension scene, both characters were hurt, and now they were confronting each other, saying things that they didn’t mean and making everything worse than it was before.
Wooyoung came barging in Yunho’s room to hit him with a pillow for being so dumb that same night.
“Why did you hit me??”, it was Yunho’s response.
“You know why”, Wooyoung said and left the room.
Yunho texted you about the incident, first confused and then extremely offended that he got punished for his character’s actions when he found out, but more importantly, because Wooyoung was on YOUR side.
Wooyoung, in fact, was on your side since that traumatizing day, because you weren’t on Yunho’s plan and therefore, you were now replacing Yunho as his favorite.
“It’s time”, Jongho said as he pressed play on the 16th episode.
You exchanged glances with Yunho before the room went dark.
He smiled as he held your hands in his, that same smile you learned meant business.
Up until now, the spiciness of the drama stayed in the first episode for the most part. The rest of the scenes were the perfect mixture of fluff and angst, something the viewers could relate to and then get to know the characters to a deeper level, but now there are only a few knots to tie and some happy endings to show, including yours.
What’s better than a full ending cycle?
Close to the 20-minute mark, you excused yourself to grab some water in the kitchen.
You waited for the chaos, for some screaming and curse words, the absolute drama that only them could pull off, yet there was silence.
Silence in their dorm always means something’s up. It’s a warning sign for trouble. In this situation? You could guess the whole group fell dead on the ground all of a sudden.
The scene you walked into was just as amusing as it was in the first episode.
The 7 of them were still on their seats, mouth agape, eyes wide as the scene kept on going.
Yunho sat there with an easy smile on his face, just as entertained as you were. He was having the time of his life as he watched their expressions change to pure shock.
There wasn’t much revealing than it was already done before, no, that wasn’t the cause of the silent commotion. It was the bold dialogue, to put it lightly. It wasn’t cringe, otherwise all of them would be rolling on their backs laughing right now, it was good, the writing of the drama was excellent in general, something you’d always be thankful for, it made your job easier.
“Damn, that’s hot”, Wooyoung broke the defying silence in the living room.
After that, it was a chain reaction. Mingi laughed, then Hongjoong, who pushed Wooyoung to the ground. Then everyone was laughing.
You laughed so hard, you felt tears pooling in your eyes.
When you managed to find Yunho again, he was laughing on the floor.
The rest 30 minutes of the drama was completely forgotten after that.
"What do you mean that's hot?", Jongho was the first to ask, still flabbergasted on his seat.
"Because it was, come on, every single on of you though the same thing, don't act like you didn't!"
"It kind of was, I mean, the writing is good and it's Yunho, he's a good actor", San said as he shrugged.
"OK, let's stop with whatever conversation is this and finish the episode", Hongjoong said.
And his wish is a command so, that's exactly what happened.
But it was clear that no one was going to forget this drama anytime soon.

TW: Eating disorder!
summary: After a fight with your boyfriend Wooyoung, you have a relapse in your eating disorder.
Words: 2.1k
I watched my boyfriend pull this girl into his arms, laughing, and for the first time in my life, I felt this tugging in my stomach. It was something between raging anger and loneliness or maby sadness. Jealousy.
I couldn't decide whether I wanted to cry or punch Wooyoung in the face. But the urge to cry increased immeasurably when I saw my boyfriend kiss this girl on the cheek, who incidentally was one of the employees at KQ and with whom he was supposed to have a professional relationship. Or what?!
I averted my eyes and stared at the floor. Hongjoong, who was sitting next to me, nudged me and cautiously asked if everything was okay. I replied with a curt yes and put on my best fake smile. He still looked a little worried but mostly bought it.
I looked around the dance studio. Ateez had just taken a break from training on her captain's orders and so everyone was now standing around the room.
As I mentioned, Hongjoong was sitting next to me as he must have realized that I was a bit lonely because Wooyoung had asked me to come to her training but had almost ignored me since I arrived.
San and Seonghwa were also both standing around the staff member called Lia, who had just brought coffee and who had been hugged by Wooyoung until just now, so I quickly looked away from them.
Yunho and Mingi had each immediately grabbed one of the coffee cups and were now standing in one of the other corners of the dance hall, laughing and chatting.
Yeosang had gone for a breath of fresh air and Jongo had gone to the toilet.
I sighed and took my eyes off Wooyoung again, who was fooling around with San and Seonghwa and didn't even look at me. I wasn't sure if Wooyoung was 'ignoring' me on purpose or if he just didn't realize that I might feel lonely.
I looked at Hongjoong instead. At least someone who wanted to keep me company, if only out of pity. We talked for a bit until Hongjoong declared the break over and Ateez went back to choreographing ther new song.
~
I stared at Wooyoung in disbelief. The training was over and the idiot had just suggested that we could all go out to eat together. It didn't seem to bother him that he knew I had an eating disorder and therefore found it difficult to eat in the company of others and that restaurants were my absolute nightmare.
Mingi looked at me questioningly.
"Are you ok with it?" I smiled briefly and a little sadly.
"Don't worry about me, I'll just go home."
"Hey, should we do something else? It was just an idea. Sorry, I forgot that you don't like it. I'm sorry." Wooyoung said and I just stared at him. Wow, one of the first things he said to me today was that he had forgotten about me. Nice.
"No all good do what you want. I wanted to go home anyway." I said bitterly, grabbed my stuff, said goodbye curtly, and got a worried smile and a quick goodbye from each of the members except Wooyoung. I didn't have the energy to look at him before I left the room.
But when I had been out of the dance hall for about half a minute, the door opened again and my friend stood in front of me.
"Hey, I'm really sorry, I wasn't thinking. You know me, sometimes I talk before I think and going out to eat is what we usually do after training. But we can do something else if you want. Everyone likes it when you're around."
I laughed a little hysterically. It wasn't usually my style to make such a big deal out of such banalities, but I'd just been generally stressed over the last few days, partly because of the upcoming exam period at my university and the arguments in my family. I was just hoping to spend a nice relaxing day with my boyfriend. But this happened instead.
"You really don't realize what the problem is, do you? Wooyoung, I just sat in this damn training room for 3 hours, nobody talked to me except Hongjoong, but he also only out of pity and you just said hello to me. You told me to come to your damn training. Shouldn't you at least try to pretend that I'm not totally annoying you and ignore me? I'm sorry, but if you don't want me to come and would rather have Lia at your training, don't invite me." A short silence followed my outburst, during which Wooyoung looked at me a little confused and surprised.
"Y/n I'm sorry. I was acting like an idiot." He said and a short silence followed. Then he started to grin
"You were jealous? Of Lia?" I stared at him.
I had just told him how I felt and he brushed it off with a small apology and a stupid comment? I laughed angrily for a second, I knew it was often his way of avoiding serious topics with jokes or silly comments but seriously?! Couldn't this man just stay put? I turned around and walked straight out of the building to my car, ignoring Wooyoung's shouts.
~
I closed the door of my appartment behind me, feeling empty and so stressed and upset at the same time. I was about to let the tears flow, but I controlled myself and walked to the kitchen without realizing it. I was really hungry and wanted to cook myself something to eat.
However, when I opened the larder and looked at the jumbled food, I was suddenly caught in a kind of trance.
Surely it wouldn't be so bad if I let out a little stress, would it? Slowly, I began to take all the food out of the cupboard and sort it in front of me. Starting with the ones that had the fewest calories to the ones with the most.
Now the tears were streaming down my cheeks. It was so satisfying to do this. To do what I used to frantically stop myself from doing. It was one of those tics that I had developed with my eating disorder. And yet even though it was satisfying in a way, I hated that I was doing it. I hated everything but especially myself.
Just when I thought my eating disorder was getting better, of course, I had to mess it all up again. Deep down I knew it wasn't my fault, but the part of me that was part of my eating disorder and had just taken over my mind was trying to convince me otherwise. I knew that this other healthy part of me was crying out for help.
My whole body shook as I reached for my mobile phone and called Wooyoung. My friend answered the call as soon as it rang. Everything in me hurt and I was stabbed by the pain inside when I heard his voice say "Hi y/n are you ok?". My whole body was aching and I just cried and sobbed.
"Y/n what's wrong?!" I tried to speak. I really tried but I couldn't do it. I just cried, hugged my mobile phone to me and slumped down on the floor amongst all the food.
"I'll be there in ten minutes!" I then heard him say to the others that he needed to check on me and soon after the sound of a car starting up.
"Y/n please try to talk to me. I'm worried about you. What happened?" I took a few deep breaths and then let out a shaky voice:
"I wanted to cook myself something to eat…" then I started crying and sobbing again.
If you thought about it rationally, it wouldn't be so bad. I'd often had setbacks like this but with my therapist, I always got everything under control with a little patience. But I just wasn't feeling well, I had been stressed in general and Woo's behavior had given me the final push towards a breakdown. And so I just sat here on the phone and cried. Just letting all the emotions that had built up over the last few months run free.
Then I heard my front door open and quick footsteps approaching the kitchen. I laughed bitterly as the tears continued to stream from my eyes. Woo knew exactly that I was sitting in the kitchen, he had been present too often during my "fits". Each time they started in the kitchen. Oh, how I hated that room.
The door opened and I looked up at Wooyoung with my tear-stained face.
"Ok one thing's for sure I'm definitely never letting you cook ever again." He said, which brought a shaky smile to my lips. But then my boyfriend looked at me worriedly, surveyed the chaos in the kitchen, and finally knelt down to me.
He locked me in a warm and secure hug and gently stroked my hair. We didn't need words. Everything that had made me angry with my boyfriend was forgotten. I clung to his body and the tears slowly dried up.
Wooyoung carefully picked me up and carried me into the living room. Then he snuggled up next to me on the sofa. We just kept quiet for a while. Wooyoung knew that I needed some time to calm down and I got it. When he realized that I was feeling better again, he asked
"You're hungry, aren't you? Are you ready to eat again? How do you feel about pizza?" I laughed lightly and wiped the last tear from my cheek.
"I'll try," I replied cautiously. Wooyoung nodded and started to order the pizza on his mobile phone.
I grabbed the remote control. I sleepily zapped through the channels, looking for something that looked interesting enough to make me forget about all the other things buzzing around in my head.
"I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have acted like an idiot and given you more attention. After all, I'm usually the first one to whinge if you don't listen to me for a second. I don't even know why I was in such a stupid mood. I just blanked you out somehow. I don't think I thought about your feelings enough. I was just being totally selfish. Sorry. And just so you know, I don't even really like Lia. I was just really grateful for the coffee. I really needed it at that moment." He poked me lightly in the side with his last sentences. I smiled slightly at him.
"It's ok, don't worry about it." I replied.
"Says the right one. Isn't it mrs i'm always worried" He laughed. I pretended to hit him on the back of his head and Wooyoung Dramaqueen as Always immediately started pretending to be super hurt and crying fake. I laughed and Wooyoung retaliated by starting to tickle me. But I was thankfully saved by the food delivery girl who rang the doorbell at that moment and made Wooyoung jump up and run to the door.
When he came back from the door, he had two pizza boxes in his hand and a big grin on his face. Woo handed me the box with my pizza and started eating right next to me. I took my time. Woo, who somehow managed to hug me despite the food, calmed me down.
And even though I only managed to eat a slice of my own pizza while he was eating his whole pizza, I was proud of myself for managing it. I often hid away after such a setback and stopped eating. But my boyfriend helped me with his mere presence.
We both knew that he wouldn't miraculously 'cure' me or save me from my own problems and that wasn't my or his claim. He helped me just by being with me, holding my hand, and giving me the motivation to keep fighting. But the rest was up to me, it was my fight and I would win it no matter how many times I had to start all over again - I would make it! We both knew that.

in which you go on a getaway
wooyoung x f!reader
fluff, established relationship / wc: 1.1k
warnings: a creepy looking man, kissing
note: this is the continuation of this drabble. so read it first if you haven't yet. <3
wooyoung masterlist - main masterlist
Wooyoung promised he would take you on a romantic getaway a couple of days ago, so you could reconnect with each other again. Although, when you said yes to him, you didn't know he has already everything planned out, and was ready to go. Lately, you've been both working a lot, so it seemed necessary for him to spend some time together, just the two of you, far away from your usual habitats.
You only left half an hour ago, but you already have to pee so badly. But you'd rather keep quiet and say nothing because you know if you admit it and tell him to stop for a bathroom break, he would tease you nonetheless and would say "he said so", that's just not gonna happen. Yeah, this situation happens quite frequently, but it's not like you haven't gone to the bathroom before you left your apartment, it's more like a nerve thing.
"You know I'm really surprised we didn't have to stop yet," Wooyoung told you. His eyes are fixed on the road, both hands on the steering wheel, you wouldn't think so, but he is actually a very careful driver, especially when you are in the car too.
"Yeah" You bite into your lower lips. You couldn't lie for god's sake, and you hated to too actually, especially to him. After that, you stayed silent.
Your boyfriend noticed how this unusuality, you both are very talkative people, and with each other silence is not known at all. It didn't take him long to figure out what was behind it.
"You really have to pee, right?" You looked at him very quickly, your eyes completely wide. As if he was reading your mind, kinda creepy. You just nodded, too embarrassed to actually say it out loud.
"Why didn't you say anything? I have to disappoint you, but I can't read your mind." It's a bit of a reassurance actually. "You have to tell me okay? Plus, I have to go too, but I didn't want to be the first one."
You pout "Babe?!" For him, you looked adorable, but you knew how hideous you must look right now.
You stopped at the next opportunity, it didn't seem like the cleanest place, but what do you expect from a washroom next to a highway? Neither of you cared much about the look, the only thing you cared about at this moment where your needs.
At first, Wooyoung didn't want to let you go alone since, luckily for you, the women's and men's toilets were in completely different directions. He taught the place looked too sketchy to leave you alone, but you reassured him that nothing could happen, you both do your own things and then meet back at the car. So he finally agreed to it, you couldn't let him wait for you when he needed to go just as much as you had to.
You were walking towards the toilets when you saw a man sweeping in front of them, you were a bit hesitant to walk up there because the man looked a bit creepy, but you weren't someone to judge a person by his look. So you took the courage and walked past him, but politely greeted him in the meanwhile.
By the time you finished, Wooyoung was waiting for you outside of the women's washroom, his arms were folded in front of him and his eyebrows were a little bit knitted together. You wondered what is up with him.
"Wasn't we supposed to meet at the car?" When he heard your voice, he immediately turned towards you.
"Yeah, but you took forever and I got a bit worried." He confessed.
"I literally was inside for 2 minutes, babe." Now you couldn't believe him, your sweet boyfriend was worried about you, sure his a bit dramatic, but that's the way you love him.
You went back to the car and continued your journey. You should be there in an hour. You're not a big camping type of person, but your boyfriend has already everything sorted out and has been wanting to go see the sea for a long time, so who are you to say no to such an offer?
-
By the time you get there, the sun has been already setting. Neither of you went camping before ever, so of course you have no tents and Wooyoung was too lazy to buy one. So in the morning, before you left, you took all the pillows and blankets you found at home and threw them in the back of the car, it was your brilliant idea to sleep in the car.
Wooyoung took out two chairs and a small camping gas stove. You parked right at the beach so the scenery was breathtaking as the sun was slowly disappearing and the sky was painted in all different colors. It looked like a painting in real life.
It was getting kinda chilly so you took a blanket from the car at sat down on one of the chairs, while your boyfriend was struggling to put the stove together. You laughed a little to yourself, but without him hearing it. He was very determined to get this right and have a perfect night together, so this alone made you the happiest person.
"I think I made it." He got up and lit the stove. It lighted all of our surroundings, and your boyfriend's pretty face, it highlighted his already strong features.
"Nice job!" And you gave each other a high five. "Now finally sit down here next to me, and give me some company." You patted the chair next to you.
"As you wish my love." But before he sat down he grabbed a packet of marshmallows. "Can I get a bit of your blanket too?" You scooted a bit closer to him and put your blanket over his lap. He planted a loud kiss on your cheek in gratitude.
"Thank you for this honey." You told him as you leaned your head on his shoulder. Wooyoung stuffed a marshmallow in his mouth without putting it in the fire.
"For what?" He asked you with a full mouth.
"For you. For loving me. For spending time with me. For caring for me. Thank you." You raised your head to look at him when you heard no response. You had no time the analyze his face for reactions when he pressed his lips to yours. He kissed you so eagerly you forgot to take a breath. You had to pull away first or else you would pass out.
He didn't let you go too far, he held your face in his hands and your foreheads were pressed together. "You're not sleepy yet? I thought we could go to bed early." You couldn't help but smile at how cute he was.

birthday boy • k.ys
Tumblr media
a/n : happy happy birthday to one of my favorite boys ^^. i love you so much yeosang and i hope you have a fantastic day <3 -daisy
cw / tws : food mentions
wc: 1513
your boyfriend turned twenty-four today and although he says that he is not an old man, he sure is being grumpy.
“yeosang wake up, it’s your birthday,” you practically squeal at him. he groans, looking at the clock that tells him it is currently nine forty-five in the morning.
“let me sleep in, it’s my birthday” yeosang tells you as he puts his arm over his eyes to try and keep the sleep from leaving him prematurely. you move to the bed and you sit on top of him, moving to hold his arm and rest his hand against your face.
“i made you homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast since it’s your birthday so you gotta wake up because they’re still warm” you say as you pout. he tries to hold back his grin but ultimately fails.
“okay baby, i’ll get up since you made me breakfast,” he smiles back at you, forgetting that he wanted to sleep in. you smile at him brightly.
“okay, now give me a kiss”. he moves to a seated position and gives you a gentle kiss before resting his face into the crook of your neck, not wanting to leave the familiarity of your arms just yet.
“yeosang, i love you and want to hold you too, but the cinnamon rolls are going to get cold” you pout at him and he nods, giving you another kiss before you both move to the table to eat the breakfast that you prepared for his birthday.
after the two of you ate your breakfast yeosang wanted to spend the middle of his day with you. yeosang was never the one who wanted to do much on his birthday, when it came time to celebrate the occasion, it was left to you and his seven best friends to give him a memorable and joyous birthday. you both knew that his seven best friends were coming over around dinner time to eat and have a few drinks, in the window of time before that was spent doing miscellaneous things that yeosang had came up with.
he had you acting out his favorite scenes with him from movies he enjoyed to making different colored lip balms with crayons, eyeshadow, and vaseline. you two were having so much fun together that you almost realized too late that his friends would be on the way in a few short hours.
it was around five pm now, and his friends would be there by six-thirty. the both of you began cleaning the messes you had made as you both had been all over the place and you finished, just in time to hear a series of loud frenzied knocks from his friends outside.
yeosang went to go answer the door and everyone came in, quickly filling up the living room. it is quiet for a minute or so, everyone smiling at each other. it was nice to take in the presence of your boyfriend and all the people he cared about so much.
on the other hand, yeosang was taking in the sight of all of his best friends and his partner. almost all of his favorite people are in the same room, and even though he acts like he doesn’t mind celebrating his birthday, he looks forward to the same scene every single year. yeosang never gets tired of spending time with the people he loves, but he endears it so much more when there is a day they think just solely of him and his growth.
yeosang being deep in his thoughts did not notice yunho or jongho coming towards him in the slightest, engulfing him in a hug from both sides of him. the rest of you shortly follow. yeosang is engulfed in a hug for a while before everyone decides to let up.
you, seonghwa, and wooyoung enter the kitchen, getting ready to begin cooking and baking for yeosang’s birthday. some people may ask why you don’t just buy a cake and order takeout, but everyone just likes it better this way. yeosang gets to talk with the majority of his friends and you get to steal the friends of his that can cook, and it is never a dull moment cooking and baking with them. seonghwa and wooyoung usually do the main food courses while you bake and decorate the cake. you three have grown to like the system and routine that has been created and followed over the years that you all have celebrated yeosang’s birthday.
after the food is done and set out in the living room, the only room that can seem to fit everyone, you all begin to eat and talk with each other. the conversation is mostly geared towards yeosang, some of which he probably wishes wasn’t brought up based by how he has turned shades of pink when some were telling their favorite stories with yeosang.
at the end of the meal, you excuse yourself to go get the cake. san offers to go with you, knowing that you can be clumsy at times. you happily accept his help not wanting to mess up what you worked hard on. you and san come back from the kitchen, you bring the lighters and the candles to put on the cake after san sets it down on the coffee table in the centre of the living room.
you begin to put the candles in the shape of “two” and “four” on the center of the cake. as you light the candles you say,
“i wanted to get twenty-four individual candles but yeosang said there was no way he would blow them all out so i had to get these two instead,” you roll your eyes playfully at your boyfriend who is now trying to explain to wooyoung that he is fun but he did not want the hassle of blowing out twenty-four individual candles. yeosang moves so he can blow out the candles easier and closes his eyes as he does so, opening them to you and the members smiling at him.
“oh my god guys we didn’t sing happy birthday,” you say completely shocked that you all had forgotten. it didn’t take long before everyone was obnoxiously singing happy birthday, yunho making sure that he was being the loudest with his words.
wooyoung moves closer to yeosang, “so what did you wish for?” he asked cheekily.
“you know i can’t tell you what i wished for, woo.” yeosang told him. wooyoung never fails to ask yeosang what he wished for, and yeosang never failed to give him the same answer.
wooyoung pokes his cheek out at yeosang, because “obviously he needs to give me a kiss if he can’t tell his bestfriend what he wished for on his birthday” and yeosang obliges him, knowing that he either had to give the kiss or reveal his wish.
everyone is eating the cake you prepared and talking, and within an hour and a half everyone is beginning to get ready to go home. everyone is leaving, making sure to tell yeosang happy birthday and thank you for the cake and food.
once everyone is gone, you plop down on the couch and yeosang isn’t too far behind. he clings to you on the couch just now realizing how low his social battery has gotten. you feel yeosang moves his head to look up at you and he smiles.
“what’s up yeosang? i know you want to tell me something” you say to him, seemingly able to read him at all times.
“i know i wasn’t supposed to tell you my wish but…” he tells you, lowering his voice as he ends his sentence.
“but…?” you ask, now very curious on that wish of his actually was.
“can we please binge watch the avengers until we fall asleep?” he asked you.
“yes of course” you told him, thinking it was a bit silly that he asked you, he should have known you would have said yes but when he responded “really?” you were now curious as to why he thought you would have said no.
“well, you have been doing things for me all day, so i didn’t want to force you to do this with me if you didn’t want to” he tells you. you frown at him, feeling bad that he thinks you didn’t enjoy doting on him today.
“yeosang, it’s your birthday. i wanted to do all of these things with you, and i get excited for your birthday because i get to dote on you like this. please don’t feel bad, i enjoy it”. he eases at your words, and goes to turn on the beginning of the franchise.
“also, i know i don’t have anything physical to give you for a gift, but i may or may not have rented an airbnb with an indoor theatre for three days next week so we could binge watch this there.” you say this quietly trying to not have a really giddy reaction.
“you never have to get me anything, you are enough. AND REALLY?”

Wooyoung x reader
🍂🧸
It's night time while you are fully stressed out for your last exam paper. Because of some school issues you have two subjects together. 1 paper 3 hours...so from 8:00 am till 2:00 pm everything ends. You were just busy cursing at school and your phone hit notification, it was wooyoung asking to call him, but you don't have time to talk to him so you just ignored him and started forcing yourself to study.
You then received call from wooyoung, you didn't picked it up until he called you for 3 times, so you finally picked up his called him and shouted on him "what is it wooyoung don't you know about my exams tomorrow?" He then replied "I just wanted to tell you that you one book is here with me, you told me that in this one you have some questions written that may come in exam, so if you want then I can come at your place to give it to you..." He was waiting for your response but here your brain was just fcked up cuz that would have made your study more easy. You than shouted "ohh can you please come quickly and give it to me? Please please pleeeeease" "ok ok don't say these much please, I will be there in few minutes".
After hanging up the call you rushed to the gate outside of your house. You were waiting for him then finally saw the headlights of his bike so you rushed to him. "Thank you for bringing me the book" he replied "yes but why did you cane till here? I would have came there" "I am in hurry" after saying that you were about to leave but turned around and gave him a kiss more like a peck on his lips. Before you could leave he said "baby, during exam don't read everything cuz it may contain the question that you couldn't do, and also you will get tensed, so just go with a flow" after saying that you two smiled at each other and without wasting a second you rushed to your home and started revising only the question which you thought would come in exam.
The next day you woke up early and after your morning routine you started revising and left for home. During the exam looking at the paper and remembered what wooyoung said so you didn't read the question and started the paper and soon finished the first paper. Now here, when it starts getting worst, you started forgetting the answer of the other paper, at the point you really wanted to cry hard but you controlled yourself.
After the paper, you saw wooyoung waiting for you at the school gate. You saw his smile and started running towards him. You jumped on him and started crying on his shoulder. He held you tight while letting you cry. "I won't say anything about today's..." He stopped himself from saying paper cuz he already knew that your paper didn't went as planned. You then got down from him while he wiped your tears and you said "and what about your paper?" And he replied "do you think my paper will go better? It was the worst and the saddest part is that my exams are gonna tomorrow, ahh why am I older than you? You guys are having fun cuz your exams are end arghh" you told him "it's ok my baby let's go for walk before going home" he then nodded and you both decided to go to a garden.
You two were walking while eating the cotton candies. Wooyoung was distracting you from your exams the whole time. Then you two sat on a bench. While Wooyoung was talking his rubbish, you were just staring at his eyes and you knew that he was just distracting you. You turned fully to him, he looked at you too, you smiled at him and he smiled at you as well cuz he knew what you're going to do. You said "thank you Wooyoung" and he asked you "for what baby?" And you answered him "for everything sweetie" and after saying that you leaned to kiss him. He pulled up just to say "my pleasure" and he again kissed you. Soon you both pulled up and remembered that you were literally kissing in the garden so you both just laughed and started talking rubbish.

You are my safe place
Chapter 1.
Pairing: Wooyoung x fem!reader
Trope: Friends to lovers (I guess)
Genre: romance, angst at some point.
Sorry just wanted to fullfil my delulest desires with this. English is not my first language. I wote this in spanish to have some fun and later decided to post it in case someone might find it entertaining so forgive me if there are some mistakes.
I wake up in my small studio. It's raining. The weather has been horrible these past few days, almost as if it was trying to warn me of what was about to happen.
I eat my breakfast and get ready as quickly as I can. I'm short on time since, as always, I've postponed the alarm too many times, but I try not to punish myself too much for it.
I gather my things and leave my mini studio. I get on the subway, which is especially crowded due to the rain, and head to work. When I get off I walk for 5 minutes and finally arrive at my company. I greet and smile at everyone I pass by. When I finally open the door to the infirmary I sigh and relax. I may be a nurse, but I love the quiet and enjoy my time alone.
As soon as I arrive I star to work. Today is an important day since it's time for the boys' check-up. I still have an hour until the first one arrives, so I write to Nolan, my situationship, I guess. I met him when I joined the company as a nurse, at the first party I attended. He immediately approached me because, apparently, I looked "uncomfortable" and "out of place" and he wanted to include me in the team, in his own words. After that we exchanged numbers and started talking quite often. From time to time we would also meet up, although always at his house despite my multiple attempts to have dates that did not include sex involved.
I say good morning and wait for a response that doesn't come. Lately he's been a slow texter, but when I asked him why, he assured me that everything was fine, that he was just trying not to be on the phone so much.
I stare at my phone when someone knocks on the door. Wooyoung walks in and sits on the chair on the other side of the table. He automatically smiled at me and I do the same.
- How are you Y/N?
- Good and you? - I look at the hour in the computer on the table in front of me - You've come too soon. Is there a problem?
-None. I just had a little free time before the checkup. -Wooyoung stares at me, as if he were looking for something-Were you able to get some sleep?
-Ah, so you were analyzing my dark circles.- I smile.
- You don't have any. You look fresh as a rose. But we finished talking at 3 in the morning so I was worried. - He pouts.
- But our conversation was too interesting, I couldn't just abandon you. -I respond, corresponding his pout. - Seriously now, I'm fine even though I haven't slept much. Don't worry.
Wooyoung smiles again, something he's been doing since he walked through the door. But that perpetual smile fades when he looks at my cell phone.
- You're waiting for him to answer you, right?- He asks me with a stern face.
- It is that obvious?
- A bit. You were turning your phone on and off when I came in. -Now he looks sad. - Y/N, let me give you some advice, again, stop talking and seeing him. He's not trustworthy. I can make a two-page list of his red flags and the things he does that are wrong.
- I know you're right, but... - I hesitate to continue but I do anyways.- It's just that when we see each other it's perfect. There is chemistry and he treats me well.
-Which part of only wanting to see you in his house and answering you when he's bored is treating you well?
My eyes widen in surprise at his response. We've talked about this many times, and deep down I know he's right, but he's never been this blunt before.
Instantly he seems remorseful. He stands up and bends down to hug me. I hug him back awkwardly. Despite having had Wooyoung as a friend for the last 3 months, I still can't get used to these gestures of affection.
The boys, including Wooyoung, and I met at the party where I also met Nolan, although I didn't start making friends with them until I did their first checkup. After that, they invited me to have a drink with them and other coworkers. Since then, Wooyoung and I have been friends. Although almost all the credit for the birth of this friendship is his.
- Sorry, I shouldn't have said it like that.
- No, don't apologize. You haven't lied. I know I have to end this. But I don't know how to do it.
- Why don't you talk to him in person today and tell him how you feel? You can write it beforehand to know what you want to let him know. But above all...-his smile widens.- You should kick him out. Close the door and throw the keys away.
- I think you're right. I'll follow your advice, for once. And it better go well or I'll sue you. - Wooyoung and I laugh and talk for a while longer, after which I force him to do the checkup, then I send him off so he can stop lingering and go to his dance practice.
Wooyoung walks out the door but not before making me swear that I will tell him everything and let him know if I need anything
When the door closes behind him I smiled to myself. Wooyoung is like a whirlwind but there isn't a day that I'm not grateful to have him in my life. He is always there when you need him.
The day continues with his unstoppable progress and I do the rest of the boys' checkups. In my free time I follow wooyoung's advice and write down everything I want to say to Nolan. As the hours go by my anxiety level increases. And when it's time to leave, my whole body is shaking.
I close the infirmary and head to the office area. I have texted to Nolan to meet and go home together so we can talk, but I haven't received a response. So I go straight to look for him knowing that if I don't do this today maybe I never will.
His office colleagues inform me that he is in the break area, so I head there. When I walk through the door I freeze. Nolan is there but he is not alone. He is accompanied by a woman our age. They are kissing passionately, not realizing that they are no longer alone. Nolan finally opens his eyes and when he looks at me his face changes as if he had seen a ghost. I turn around and try to leave, but Nolan is faster and stops me, grabbing my wrist. I'm crying but I don't care, I turn around and look into his eyes.
- Don't you dare come close to me again in your fucking life.
When he starts to try to explain himself, I free myself and leave the building, without looking back.

Tumblr media
You were off all day, they all knew it. That's why Hongjoong offered for you to come with the group to practice rather than you spending your time alone. None of them wanted to leave you alone. That's how you ended up sitting on the black leather in the corner of the practice room while the boys all did some more dance practice.
San and wooyoung were the firsts to wander from the group when they were taking a 3-minute break. They always gave you affection together. They were inseparable, and with you in the mix, it was perfect for them.
"Hey, sweetheart." They both purred cuddling up to you to check if you were okay. The first indication of your sadness was not returning their goofy affection. You just sat there, not sad anymore, it was like all the crying from hours ago drained every emotion, leaving you feeling empty, numb...
"Doll, hey, please look at me." Concern entered Wooyoungs voice, pulling your face up by your chin making your glassy eyes look at him and San. They've never seen you like this before.
"Hyung! Come here for a sec..." Sans words made all the boys turn heads, seeing your figure slump against Woo. Seonghwa instantly came over crouching in front of you, placing his hand over your cheek.
"You okay Princess..." His words were soft motherly, if any of the members needed something they knew Seonghwa could get it out of you. But it didn't seem to be working.
"Honey," "Tiny?" "Darling," ....
All the boys came over at this point trying to get your attention. Looking at all of them you see their caring faces. How did all these men love you? You weren't the prettiest. There are so many female idols they would have instead of you.
Seeing all the comments about your appearance ever since Ateez confirmed they were all dating someone. (Not even letting atinys knows they are all with the same person and dating each other). But some antis started talking about your appearance even without seeing what you looked like.
You never liked what you looked like, and having millions of eyes on you, took the cake. But the one thing you didn't think about was how much love you were getting from each other these men. They all loved you so much, and they were willing to do anything for you. No matter what you looked like. Was that enough?
"I'm s-sorry..." was the first thing you said, finally coming back to reality, falling into Seonghwa's arms, crying lightly. He patted your head, getting all the members to comfort you.
"There's our baby." Yunho smile seeing your eyes peak over Seonghwa's shoulder.
"Hey, bun." Mingi gave a gummy smile while opening his arms put letting you move from Seonghwa to Mingi. You curled yourself in the big man's lap while he leaned against the couch.
"What happened sugar?" Yeosang asked, stroking your hair, while everyone sat in a circle. Putting their attention on you. You began explaining your thoughts, you didn't want to worry them but they would have kept pushing.
"Hey Angel is okay, we all knew this was going to happen once we all confirmed our relationship status. We are sorry you feel like this, but you mean so much to us. We are here for you, no matter what others think." Hongjoongs words were just what you needed. Reassurance.
Leaving Mingis lap, you hugged Hongjoong, saying thank you, making the others giggle at your cuteness. You all stay like that for a moment, moving to Jongho and Yeosang while Hwa, Joong and Yun all went to get food for all of you. The boys spent the rest of the night keeping close attention to you.
Playing games, making you laugh, with little sneaky sexy comments from San to try and boost your ego. It wasn't much, but you knew when it came to all of them. Their love was enough.

▬ ﹙𝗦𝗪𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗪𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 | 𝗞𝗜𝗠 𝗦𝗨𝗡𝗪𝗢𝗢﹚: “baby~”
sunwoo whined, his plump lips forming a cute pout. you laughed at him endearingly, to which he replied with a frown.
he's been asking you to cuddle with him for the last hour, but since you were in class, you told him to wait. I'm telling you, neither do you like the fact that you have to wait another thirty minutes to cuddle with your boyfriend.
“five more minutes,” you smiled at him rather apologetically.
however, he couldn't take it anymore. sunwoo stood up and went to you, making you panic for a moment. he took another chair and placed it beside yours, sitting on it before pulling your figure to his warmth.
“My camera is on, sunwoo!”
“who says I care?”
“well, I do—” he cut you off by placing both of his sweater paws on each side of your cheek, leaning forward to connect your lips with his. your heart was beating so fast, nervous about the fact that some of your classmates must be watching you right now. although, you liked it, a little.
when sunwoo pulled away, your cheeks heated, eyes glancing on the ongoing class that was now awkwardly silent. you looked at your classmates and noticed them having all their mouths agape, even the professor.
“y/n, if you're just going to make out in front of us, make sure to have your cameras off. geez, kids these days...” the professor muttered, talking to you.
you laughed nervously, glaring at sunwoo, who was now smiling sheepishly at you. “I hate you,” you mouthed.
“I don't think so,” he teased, pulling you for another kiss. but before he could, you stopped him and faced your laptop again, leaving the class. sunwoo was surprised with what you did, but he didn't waste any seconds before engulfing you in his arms, placing kisses all over your face.
“If I fail this semester, it's going to be your fault, you clingy baby.”

Ding-dungg-ding-dungg-dung-dungg-ding-dunggg
On a bright yet cool sunny day, the 17-year-old science students of HaByeol High had to stay back until 6pm for extra tuition classes. That meant that Wooyoung and his friends had to spend more torturous hours in school seeing each other's greasy faces and crinkled school outfits. They were exhausted to say the least.
They have extra classes 3 times a week and they never change classroom locations like the art students did. They had no reason to. All science related labs just so happened to be located on the same top floor of the school building. While the art kids got to walk to different buildings or small sheds on the school grounds depending on which class and which teacher.
"it's going to rain" muttered Mingi, looking at the bright sky while spacing out. They were all resting waiting for the tuition teacher to enter and start class.
"how do you know that?" some classmate of theirs asked, fanning themselves with one of their notebooks as a makeshift fan.
"i have a sixth sense .... i can feel it in my right boob" he answered with a straight face. Nearly 6 students turned around to look at him baffled and perturbed..
"He did not just say 'his left boob' ..."
"No he definitely said it ..." another said with their eyes closed.
"Wasn't it his right boob tho?" another student said, mouth stuffed with bread.
"Can we please stop talking about boobs!!" the only voice that was not monotone only because they got woken up.
"Why is it always Mingi man ...."
The person didn't know if they regretted asking or not but by the looks of it, seeing as their mouth couldn't close in disbelieve, they did in fact ... regret it.
The science students of HaByeol High were fairly quiet kids, they preferred to stick to their books or sleep when teachers weren't around. And it was quiet; until,
"NO!" dramatic Wooyoung starts again. He wiped non-existent tears while laying fetus position on the floor, cradling himself.
It was AP Biology class again. As you can see, it is most definitely his absolute favourite class. He wasn't anywhere near failing the class, it was just that he absolutely hated the way the teacher taught. He swears 'he's out for me with that nasally voice and broken stick of his'. So he must escape while he can. And escape he will.
"CHOI SAN!" he yells out the window, "AMICUS!"
"AD" someone shouts back, all the way from the opposite building. Quite impressive really if you consider their distance apart.
"ARAS!" they holler in union. They're on thin ice around the disciplinary teacher.
Soon after, the science students were greeted by a blue-haired boy with killer dimples. This art boy was Wooyoung's escape excuse. The blue-haired boy named San casually walked into his friends' classroom.
"San-ah!" and the blue-haired boy curved Wooyoung to keep walking further into the room. To a girl sitting alone with earphones in.
"Did you just ..."
"Hey. Hey. Wanna go to the snack bar with me? *wink*" and the blue-haired boy was met with no reply. So he'll try again.
"If you go with me .... I'll buy you chocolate milk. Wanna go?" very casually did San ask her out, pointing towards the door with the other hand tucked in his pants pocket.
"pshh ... why is he trying to act cool" scoffed Mingi, amused by what his art friend was trying to do.
"sdfgkl he even winked! eeww" laughed Wooyoung. His eyes went to his girl friend and his bestfriend. No, in fact, Wooyoung was straight up smirking. And only he knows why.
"I don't even like chocolate milk" she calmly replied, eyes closed as if she was sleep talking. That caused her friends around her to snicker remarks, looking at her in disbelieve.
"wah...you, my friend, are shamelessly lying" confronted Yeosang. He wasn't planning on interrupting his fools of friends, but this was too ear catching to pass by.
"couldn't she have thought of a better lie?" shook Mingi.
"and yet records would tell you, you were the one to finish the chocolate milk stocks!" yelled Wooyoung.
All those who go against her, she plainly ignored. If she can block her ears, she is innocent.
"If you go with me, I'll buy you all kinds of delicious snacks" offered San again, ignoring his background, still focusing on her alone.
"what are we ... 4?"
Finally, the girl sighed and took of her earphones slowly. Neatly she tucked them away and gave San the attention he was asking for. To everyone else, including San, it seemed like everyone and her friends are a bother to her. But not to Wooyoung, nope.
"If i go with you, strawberry milk, pockys and yogurt?" if San wasn't going to agree, sadly she was going to turn his offer down.
"Sure" wait what?
"Sure, anything you want" San winks again. He was too composed, charming indeed. His deep voice was like silk.
She wasn't stupid. No one turns down free food. Not she.
"Me too me too!" jumped Wooyoung in between his 2 friends.
"You pay yourself"
And that was the first time San got to talk to her. The only girl friend he ever saw his bestfriends hung around with, especially in school. He liked teasing her. In some ways, she was the a lot like Yeosang. Quiet yet does not shy away from savage remarks.
What San didn't see though, was her lightly blushed cheeks when she looked down to 'see her steps', cleverly using her long hair as frame to gain composure in milliseconds. And on San's other side, was a surprisingly behaved normally loud boy, smirking to himself, thinking to himself. But you know what?
Wooyoung always knows.

Revenge Is A Bitch (1)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Nichkhun x Reader | Jaehyun x Reader
Warning: Eventual smut, cheating, angst
Word Count: 1.7k
A/N: Surprise! It's now a series. Let me know if you wanna be tagged!
Summary: You're life with Nichkhun was amazing, until you went to visit him on a business trip, where you meet Jaehyun, a friend and coworker of your boyfriend. Things escalate quickly from a little flirting in a club, but things get even worse when Nichkhun finds out. "
Y/N." Nichkhun growls. "Give it back." He says, trying his best not to smile. You stand on the other side of the couch, his phone in your hand as you stick your tongue out at him.
"You want it back?" You ask.
He nods his head.
"Then come get it." You yell, laughing as he charges for you, bursting out into laughter as well. Sometimes you were needy, especially when you felt like he was paying more attention to his phone than you. You giggle and scream as you run around the couch, Wooyoung sitting on the couch watching the two of you in disgust. Nichkhun grabs you, pulling you into him, peppering your face in kisses. You stop fighting him and he sets you down as you both continue laughing. You give him back his phone and he slides it into his pocket before tucking a piece of hair behind your ear.
"I love you, beautiful." He whispers.
"And I love you." You grin, placing a kiss on his lips.
"And I'm gonna be sick." Wooyoung groans, leaving the living room as the two of you laugh at his annoyance and disgust of your love. It had been two years of just pure bliss and happiness with Nichkhun, something you never thought you'd ever find, until you found him.
A few hours later, you were sitting on the edge of the bed with your arms crossed as you watched Nichkhun pack a bag. As usual, a last minute business meeting came up, and he was taking off for a week.
"Babe, where's my blue suit? The one with the stripes.. yanno?" He yells from inside the closet. As much as you didn't want to help him, you begrudgingly stood up, shuffling towards the closet to help him find the suit he needed. You roll your eyes as you walk in, and Nichkhun is on one knee, holding a ring pop, making you laugh. "I'm sorry I have to leave my love, but with this ring, I hope you remember that I love you, and I can't wait to come back to you and marry you one day." He grins.
He always knew how to make you feel better and put a smile on your face. Some days you swore he knew you better than you knew yourself. You take the ring and stick it on your finger as he stands up.
"Now, I actually do need my suit." He laughs.
"You mean the one that's hanging right in front of you?" You giggle, taking it off the rack and handing it to him.
"My savior." He grins, putting it carefully in his bag.
"Toothbrush?" You ask him, beginning to list off the items he needs.
"Yes!" He exclaims.
"Underwear? Socks? Passport? Wallet? Casual clothes?" You ask.
"Check, check, check.. where's my passport?" He asks worriedly. Despite only going to a different city, he still needed it.
"Nightstand, left hand side." You sigh. He quickly leaves the closet, going to his nightstand as you zip up his bag, bringing it into the bedroom.
"Like I said, my savior." He grins.
"I'll call you when I land." He says before answering his ringing phone. "I'll be right down."
He gives you a quick peck before heading through your lavish apartment, with you following behind him, watching him walk out the front door, leaving you alone.
It had been a few days and you still hadn't heard from Nichkhun. This really wasn't unusual for him, considering he got very busy with work but he hadn't even sent you a goodnight text in the last 3 days, and that made you really sad. So you decided to do something about it. With a plan in your head you went to sleep, knowing you had an early morning ahead of you.
When you woke up, you booked your last minute ticket, and began packing your bags. You felt a frisson of excitement skate across your nerve endings as you zipped up your bags and waited for your ride to the airport. You very rarely, well actually never had surprised Nichkhun, but this time it felt right. It felt like it was going to be a wonderful surprise.
After a smooth flight, you caught a cab, and told him to go to the hotel Nichkhun was at. You felt like nothing could go wrong, this was the perfect plan, with a perfect execution. You paid the nice cab driver, who also took your bags from his car for you and you went into the lobby to wait for Nichkhun. You called his phone a few times, but he didn't pick up. You look around the fancy hotel and observe a couple who seemed to not be able to keep their hands off each other. You loved that for them. You smiled to yourself, imagining you and Nichkhun being that publicly annoying. You wished you could show your love and passion the way they were. The way they touched each other, it spoke of passion and need and familiarity.
You looked at your phone that has now gone to voicemail six times, you glance up once more and see the faces of the couple that enter the elevator with tears in your eyes.
**
“Welcome to Club Arriba! What can I get you to drink?”
"6 shots of your strongest liquor." You yell, slapping the credit card that Nichkhun had given you for emergencies. Clearly this was one, and so was the lavish hotel room, and the room service you had ordered before coming to the club.
"You got it." The bartender smiles, sliding the cars off the bar. You stand there waiting for your shots when three girls approach you.
"I love your dress." One giggles. You hold up your finger, asking for a moment before you quickly, and quite professionally down four of the six shots you had bought.
"Thank you." You grin. You turn to the bartender and wave him over. "Four more shots for me and my new friends." You yell, taking the last two shots on the counter.
And like that, you had made friends with some really nice girls, who bought you drinks too. The four of you were dancing, laughing and having a great time when you feel a pair of hands land on your hips. You look behind him and see an extremely handsome man smiling down at you. You don't mind, you enjoy the attention, besides it wasn't like you were getting much these days anyways. You move your body closer to his, swaying your hips to the beat of the music, while smiling at your new friends, who were also dancing with others. As you were getting more into it, you felt a hand wrap around your wrist. You look up and see a man that you absolutely recognize trying to pull you away from the other man that had begun groping you.
"What are you doing?" You ask. Glaring at the man. You know him.. from.. Nickhun's office. "Jaehyun?" You ask. He looks at you surprised that you remembered his name. He pulls you away from the man, through the crowd to a secluded hallway. He swings you around, pushing you against the wall as he crosses his arms.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asks. "You're in a relationship with my good friend and my boss." He hisses.
"Mhm, are you sure you're as good of a friend as you think you are?" You ask, tilting your head to the side.
"I don't understand what you mean." He sighs.
Of course he doesn't. No one knows, you didn't even know until this morning.
"What do you want, Jae? Should I blow you so you don't tell my precious Nichkhun?" You ask, pouting.
"I would never do that to Nichkhun." He deepens. "I'm going to have to tell him about this." He finishes.
You shrug your shoulders, pushing yourself off the wall. "Do what you gotta do." You say. “You know what I’ll help you tell him." You say, taking out your phone. Jaehyun stands there, watching you, unsure of what you're doing.  You turn around with snapchat open, and kiss him on the cheek before snapping a picture before he moves away from you.
"What the fuck are you doing? Do you realize that this looks fucking bad?" He yells.
"I've seen the way you look at me when I come into the office. Do you want a taste Jae? Would you like to feel me gripping you while inside me? How about how wet and warm it would feel to cum inside me? So good."  You whisper into his ear.
Jaehyun moves back from you, looking partially offended, and partially turned on from what you said. He doesn't say anything to you, he just walks away, and you watch him disappear into the crowd. You adjust your dress and throw your shoulders back and walk back to your new friends.
As you continue to dance, you can feel eyes on you, raking your body up and down. You look around and see Jaehyun leaning against the bar, his arms crossed as he watches you. The way your hands roam your body, the way you lick your lips as you watch him. You can feel his guard being let down as he begins to inch closer to you. The rush of victory flows through your body as he walks towards you.
"Let me take you home." He says, offering his hand to you. He slides Nichkhun's credit card back in your purse and he weaves the two of you out of the club.
"Are you trying to get in my panties, Jaehyun?" You ask, looking at the handsome man.
"I'm just taking you home." He says.
The two of you are standing outside your hotel room as you put your key in and open the door to your large suite.
"Don't tell Nichkhun I'm here." You say, walking inside, Jaehyun following you.
"Let's just get you to bed." He sighs.
You stand in front of him, pulling your dress off, dropping it on the floor. You're almost naked, in front of your boyfriend's good friend, feeling nothing but lust and attraction for this man.
Jaehyun takes a deep breath. "Fuck it." He whispers, crashing his lips onto yours, pushing you onto the bed. Your fun starts now, and soon Nichkhun will know that revenge is a bitch.

[9.55] mafia!wooyoung × reader
⇀ good thing you're smart, if not Wooyoung wouldn't have a whole attitude change
⇁ tw : violence, torture, kindapping, mafia life
⇁ part 1 / 2 / 3
⇁ disclaimer : the author does not support any and all criminal/illegal acts. the narrative written in this story is purely fiction out of the author's imagination. the things written here does not portray real mafia life nor is the author aware of how the mafia life is like. the author is a hermit loser.
You don't remember how long it has been since they captured you. Being stuck in a basement would do that apparently.
Whoever was behind your capture had been torturing you beyond your own imagination. They had starved you, hit you, kicked you, attempted to drown you, tied you in an uncomfortable position every night, and sent in someone to make sure you don't get an ounce of sleep.
All that just to get information on Wooyoung.
Currently, you're being tied to a chair, being once again interrogated for informations you had no clue about, "things would be much easier if you'd just give us what we want," the buff man in front of you said, he held a knife to your cheek but at this point you couldn't even flinch, "where is Jung Wooyoung's headquarters?"
Your cold outfit was clinging onto you like second skin, it's uncomfortable and it's dirty, the cold had definitely impacted your health.
Recently all you've been able to feel is just the headache and the burn from inside your body. Not even the abuse given to you was able to inflict you pain.
Everything's just numb.
You look up at the man, almost with a challenging look as you press your face daringly to the blade, "I. Don't. Know." you spat each word like venom.
The man laughed, pretty amused at how daring you are being, "you're his wife, there is no way you wouldn't have known," you rolled your eyes at him, bitter that he used the word 'wife' because you know fully well that Wooyoung would never treat you as such, "then I must've not been his wife now, am I?" You retorted back at him, slightly shocking him because this is the first time within the (apparently) 7 days you've been captured that you had said something else other than 'I don't know' or 'fuck you'.
Everyone was startled at the revelation, they probably hadn't concidered that you might not be Wooyoung's wife. No one really know about Wooyoung's personal life, it seems.
Seeing their hesitance, you take this as your chance of escaping.
The buff man grab your hair harshly, his eyes narrowing at you in suspicion, "don't lie to me, whore, if you're not his wife, then why'd you have a wedding ring on?" "Stole it from my mistress before I ran away, needed the money," you lied easily, surprising yourself.
"And why are you wearing it?" He asked again, "to make it less inconspicuous, people need to believe that this belongs to me or else they'll alert the cops that I'm a thief,"
He seemed to be having an inner turmoil on whether or not he should believe you.
With how you've been acting and the lack of evidence that you are Wooyoung's wife, you could really have been the wrong target.
"That means Handong lied to us," he said as he push your head away, talking to one of the men next to him, "bring him in and get this bitch out," he said simply before turning back to leave.
But before he walked out of the room, he looked back once more at you with a bitter smirk, "make sure to... deal... with her first, insurance for your silence,"
When the doors closed, 5 men approach your figure, still tied on the chair.
One of them crouch down in front of you, he brush your hair out of your face with a sad smile, "I'm sorry that we have to do this, pretty girl," confused at what he said, you just stared at him. But then he suddenly slap you so hard that you fell down along with the chair you're tied to.
And thus began one of the longest night of your life.
Meanwhile Wooyoung was getting antsy. His men couldn't find you anywhere and there isn't a second when he didn't regret turning his abundance of cctv off
He spent his days either in meetings or trying to track your whereabouts. San had to step in and actually force him to eat, going as far as cuffing him to his chair and spoon-fed him, even throwing a cheesy "would (Y/N) be happy to see you in this state?" At him to which he replied, "considering how I treat her, I wouldn't be surprised if she is,"
So far, neither yours nor his parents were aware of your disappearance. His dad only asked about you once to ensure he still has leverage, which of course Wooyoung lied, he's already stressed over your disappearance the last thing he need is for his dad to bit his head off.
Each night he spent sleeping in his bedroom, moping to the fact that he genuinely misses and worried about you. He regret taking you for granted, taking your presence for granted. Now, he could only imagine your sleeping form next to him using the memories of when he actually slept in bed with you. He used to be able to feel your warmth next to him, now it's just cold and he dislike it.
Tonight was no different. Before he got into bed, he went to the walk-in closet and look at all the dresses he had brought you to events that you went to (re : events he was forced brought you because his parents would be there). He remembered every how you looked in every single one of them.
It's pathetic of him, to be pining over the woman he claimed to have no care about.
Just as he turned the walk-in closet's lights off, there were commotions from downstairs, then a huge bang like his front doors had been barged open.
Diving into his instincts, Wooyoung grabbed the nearest gun he had hid all around the room and ran out, thinking that it was a raid by his rivals.
But when he looked down from the second floor to the living room, his heart wrenched and he froze.
San had you in his arms, you looked sickly pale with bruises all over your exposed arms and legs, clothes had chunks of them torn, and you weren't moving. One would assume that you're dead.
Wooyoung dropped his gun and ran to his friend who had just put you on the couch.
The sight of you looking so broken panicked him. He wanted to hold you and be glad that you're home, but he doesn't wanna hurt you. He wanted to tell you how sorry he is and that he'll make up to you but he's not sure whether or not you're still alive.
He snapped his head towards his staff, "call the doctor! Call Kang Yeosang in!" He barked to which his staffs immediately obeyed, scrambling to do as he ordered.
"God, baby, who did this to you?" He muttered to himself, reaching forward to brush your hair out of your face.
You stirred a bit when you heard his voice ans managed to open your eyes despite the splitting headache and the soreness all over your body.
When your eyes met his, you smiled, "hey, what are you doing in my dreams?" You croaked out, throat obviously sore and beyond parched from having been denied fluids for so long. It was your turn to brush his bangs from his eyes, something you've always wanted to do but know never could considering his dislike that turned out to be hatred towards you.
You suddenly frown at him, making his gaze on you softer, "I'm sorry," you muttered, not able to speak louder. At that, he tilted his head, "for what?" "Not being able to stay gone, I had to had the will to live, I should've let them kill me," you said before you slip into unconsciousness, rendering Wooyoung speechless at your words.
Before he was able to retaliate, San had swoop you back into his arms to take you to an empty room so Yeosang could come in and treat you.
"No," Wooyoung called, stopping San in his tracks, "bring her to my- our room, she should feel comfortable," to which San just nodded and obey, knowing how important it is to have you next to him as much as him next to you.
Yeosang came in not long after and spent 3 hours cleaning and stitching your wounds, checking for possible internal injuries, all the while making sure he's handling you with the utmost care as Wooyoung had been glaring daggers at him. Whether it serve to be a warning to not harm you or a sign of jealousy as Yeosang had a perfectly valid reason to cut your shirt and shorts off for handling.
"I can't make a clear diagnosis without checking for internal injuries, we have to take her to the hospital," Yeosang said. But Wooyoung just snap at him, "then freaking bring the machines here! She's not leaving this mansion and she's not leaving my side!"
Both men just stared at each other for a few minutes, Yeosang holding onto his ground on wanting simplicity, and Wooyoung being afraid of losing you from his sight again.
Knowing how stubborn his friend can be, Yeosang was first to crack, sighing and nodding at Wooyoung, "I'll see what I can do," he said simply before going out to talk to San about possibly transporting some of his machines.
The rest of the night, Wooyoung took care of you. He had put you in one of his large, white button up because it's the easiest to put on you. He stayed by your side in a chair, afraid that he might hurt you (than he already necessary does with his words) if he were to slip in bed with you.
As he watch you, his hands moved to held yours in his. His thumbs were rubbing the back of your hand when it suddenly caught on something.
Looking down, he noticed that it's your wedding ring, matching his own which he's wearing.
It brought a smile to his face seeing you're still holding onto it so dearly. You could've left it for him to find and throw away the day you left, but you had decided to take it with you.
Could it be that despite everything he's done to you, you don't want to completely erase him from your mind?
And that's what made Wooyoung broke down and cried.
He didn't deserve you, not one bit. But despite that, he knows that he's the only one capable enough of taking care of you, to provide for whatever it is that you need.
So at that moment, with you back in hia arms, he decided to step up and assume his responsibilities and treat you as how you deserve to be treated.

"We can't leave him alone for even one second," Hongjoong announced. "Even if he's wearing these shackles and is as powerless as he could be right now. I'm not taking any chances."
"Agreed," Seonghwa nodded grimly, staring down at Junyoung who had his head down, his black hair matted on his forehead. He was tied to a chair just so he couldn't physically move. Magically, he couldn't do anything either.
"How much time?" Yunho asked Yeosang, and he took out his pocket watch.
"We've spent 3 hours here," Yeosang looked at Hongjoong, "If she's in the same dimension we went, a month has already passed there. If she's in the one she went while little, it would only have been a few minutes."
"Are you sure these are the only two she could have gone to?" San asked.
Yeosang shook his head, "Let's hope it's one of the two for both our sakes."
Brian and Lisa, Mingi's Captain and Vice Captain of the Guard entered the dungeon room, surprised to see the 7 Princes gathered here even when they had heard of it from Jae- Prince Mingi's Right Hand. The princes were looking grim but Yeosang came forward and briefed them about how they were to keep their eyes on Junyoung and stay at least 5 feet away from him.
Brian possessed fire magic as well so he was instructed to use it in case Junyoung tried anything. Lisa possessed light magic, so she was instructed to make sure the shackles were in full power every minute. The Princes had only allowed them to watch so they could rest, since all of them felt like they had been up for days now.
As soon as they reached Mingi's room, Wooyoung went straight for the couch and passed out in an instant. They supposed he deserved to rest peacefully after using his magic for hours now, without taking a break. Seonghwa and Yeosang sat on the sofa in the living room, zoning out in their own thoughts as they stared into space. Hongjoong and San forced them to eat a sandwich each at least.
Jongho and Yunho stood in front of the picture wall, faint smiles on their faces as they looked across the endless memories captured in photos. Jongho asked Yunho if he remembered Yena, but Yunho shook his head, saying it was only flashes he remembered. Jongho looked at the three princes who did remember Yena.
"I hope she returns safe, whenever she does," Jongho didn't look away from Seonghwa as he said that. "Both her and Mingi."
Yunho met his gaze and looked at Seonghwa too, who was absently nibbling on his sandwich. "I hope so too. Whenever it is."
They were still looking at Seonghwa and Yeosang when Yeosang dropped the sandwich he was holding, looking at Seonghwa, San and Hongjoong wide-eyed.
"What's wrong?" Seonghwa scanned his face, frowning.
"She's... here. Right now, she's in this room. Yena is here."
Seonghwa's mouth fell open as he looked at Hongjoong and San. San looked surprised too, but Hongjoong's brain was already working. "You feel her magic?"
"It's too weak," Yeosang said, "It's like she's far away-" Yeosang frowned, shutting his eyes, trying to feel the source.
"It's gone."
"What?"
"Her magic, it was here one second, and then it was not," Yeosang leaned forward, drinking a glass of water, "That means... she may be in the same dimension we went- where time travels fast. She couldn't have appeared and disappeared so quickly otherwise."
"That's... good, right?" San said, "When she does come back, it won't have been too long here."
"Good for us," Yeosang pursed his lips, "Not sure about her."
Seonghwa bit his lips, bringing his knees up to his chest as he exhaled. It had only been a few hours, but he couldn't imagine what she must be going through.
And he couldn't get those words out of his head- what Junyoung had whispered to him with a grin when he was being taken to the carriage.
She doesn't remember you anymore.
Did he take her memories? Or was it something else? He hadn't even asked- he had almost punched him in the face but was held back by Yunho, and scolded for being reckless. He hadn't told anyone what he had said- it could have been to rile him up, but if it was true...
Yena. The one who went back in time for him. The one who made him fall in love with her not once but twice.
He silently prayed it wasn't too bad- after all that had happened, she might not even want to come back to him anymore.
----------------------------
Mingi had left no part of his kingdom unturned- he showed Yena everything.
Yena supposed being in this dimension was convenient enough for exploring- there was no soul present other than the two, and they could barge in wherever they wanted, whenever they wanted. She had to admit- she felt free.
Especially when Mingi decided he would explore his castle starting from the dungeons- he had never experienced roaming around the whole body of the castle in one trip- and he found more than he had ever seen. Yena decided she would learn every part of her castle too, when she got back.
If. If she got back.
A month had passed, and Yena's powers weren't fully back- according to Mingi. She felt like they were, but it was only because she was used to the small amount of power she thought she possessed before she found out that she was a princess. This amount wasn't enough to get the two of them back. Not together. Not properly.
Mingi had resorted to teaching her about shapeshifting then, since there wasn't much they could do in this dimension. They were on the roof of the castle, Mingi explaining how shapeshifting was something that felt like peeling your own skin off and wearing another.
As helpful as San telling her to 'imagine' phantom hands. Or Yeosang telling her to 'imagine' the world cleaving apart in two.
"What is with you princes and making me 'imagine' the magic but not teaching me the 'how'?"
Mingi scoffed. "Try explaining to me how you open a portal."
Yena smirked, nodding, putting a hand on her hip as she began, "Just stare into the space and-"
"And?" Mingi was grinning devilishly now. "Imagine a tear in the space?"
Yena searched for another word in her vocabulary, but failed. She pursed her lips. "Sorry, I guess."
Mingi burst out laughing, but said, "It's how we all learn. Magic- you can't really see it now, can you? You have to let your imagination go wild and do the work."
"Please, whenever I run my imagination wild, things happen."
Mingi put one leg on the other, leaning back, "Like what?"
"Well," Yena sat in front of him, done pacing and trying to attempt shapeshifting, "This one time when I got lost in the portal because I wanted to attempt travelling a longer distance."
"I remember that one," Mingi nodded, "Any other incident?"
"The time travel I did when I had to save Seonghwa," Yena shook her head, "I could have died. Yunho saved me that time. Also... I think it counts? The time I met the darkling?"
Mingi's mouth parted as he thought, running a hand through his bright red hair, "Do you remember how it happened?"
"Just like it happened this time," Yena began, "I was held for too long without using my magic and-"
Yena felt her heart sink. She stared at Mingi, biting her tongue in surprise. Mingi leaned forward, frowning.
"And?"
"And... I- Mingi, I think... I think I'm on to something." Yena got up abruptly, pacing and biting her nails as she tried to make sense of her theory.
That time, more than a decade ago, in Rukbat. When Joon Hyuk had forced her to time travel, she had opened a portal, but before that-
She had entered another dimension before opening the portal- it was why it felt different that time. Wasn't it?
Yena almost bumped into Mingi- he had got up when he noticed Yena's eyes glaze, as if she had just realised something big. Yena looked up at him, then sighed, going to the edge of the roof, letting the faint wind blow her hair back.
"When I was in Rukbat," she explained, "Joon Hyuk was forcing me to time travel. I think I may have entered this dimension- or another like this. And I opened a portal in that dimension. The darkling- he must have been wandering around in that dimension- a big coincidence. What are the chances I could try that again and meet him?"
"It's not like the darkling is always in this dimension, right?" Mingi asked, "Is there another way?"
"What if," Yena narrowed her eyes at Mingi, "It wasn't a 'coincidence'? What if he, somehow, detected something- I don't know what, but what if he knew about me? What if he was waiting for me?"
"Not impossible, but not that probable either," Mingi rubbed his chin in thought. "But then again, with you... Anything is possible, I guess."
"I wonder what exactly was the favour he wanted," Yena stared down at the city stretching in front of her.
"Maybe he wants Junyoung," Mingi suggested. "He is a darkling too, after all."
Yena made an impressed face- it definitely could be. "He said he was corrupted now. Even as a darkling. Why would he want him?"
"Who knows? Maybe he doesn't like the idea of a darkling prowling around on our planet and tarnishing the name of their kind."
Yena shrugged. "Should I try opening the portal?"
"Won't it work better if we're in Rukbat?" Mingi thought, "Since that's the spot the darkling would expect you- if it's even what we think it is."
"Should we go to Rukbat then?" Yena wiggled her brows. "It's not like we have anything better to do."
A smile grew on Mingi's face, realising that they indeed did not have anything better to do. "Bored of my kingdom already?"
"Oh please," Yena scoffed. "It's not like you left anything for imagination now."
"Hey!" Mingi scoffed back, punching her arm playfully. "It was your idea!"
Yena grinned, and Mingi said they should just start their journey since they had 'nothing better to do'. The duo descended down the stairs, reaching ground level and Yena felt weird travelling empty handed- she would never get used to this feeling, she realised. They walked all the way to the coast, where boats stood still.
"Isn't it weird how there's still wind and water moving here?" Yena wondered out loud.
"So you don't go insane, probably," Mingi answered, pointing to a small boat. Yena smiled at his comment. That might be true, she thought.
The two started rowing, and Yena wished Wooyoung was here- or Yunho. It felt very strange to cross the sea without one of them speeding their journey up. Mingi met her eyes, passing a sad smile as he understood what she was thinking.
The one month they had spent together had made them very familiar with each other- habits, thoughts, and all. They could read each other's thoughts now, sit in long, comfortable silence as well.
Yena suggested opening portals every few minutes, just so they could speed up, but Mingi said he liked rowing normally- it felt very human. Yena laughed at his choice of word- they were faeries. She supposed it was okay to do things the human way once in a while.
Giving up halfway through rowing, she lay down across the seat, staring up at the dark sky, at the unmoving stars, sun and moon. She closed her eyes- she couldn't sleep, but she could very well try. She missed sleeping- if the two weren't keeping each other constantly busy, they would have very well gone insane.
She heard Mingi shuffle and opened one eye to peek at him. He had ditched rowing as well, lying down where he previously sat, mirroring her position as he put his arms behind his head.
"I want to sleep so bad."
Yena smiled sadly- it was her fault-
"No, it's not your fault," Mingi looked at her, "I know what you're thinking. It's not your fault."
Yena looked up again, feeling a burning sensation behind her eyes. "Everyone must be waiting for you- for us. But here we are, here I am, acting like the time in Algieba didn't happen. I know once we go back, all it will take is for me to sleep- and I'll start having nightmares again, of the time with Junyoung. I guess that's why my magic is taking so long to come back- it knows."
Mingi sighed loudly. He wanted to tell her that it was okay, but he knew that she was anything but okay. The fact that even her magic was afraid to come back said enough. To make it worse, Junyoung had made sure she knew what memories he took away from her- of Seonghwa. She somehow remembered liking Seonghwa but not how it happened. And it was eating her away- because she did not miss him like she should have anymore. Junyoung made sure she realised that very fact.
"If anyone of us would have gone through the things that you went through," Mingi began, "Scratch that- I can't speak for anyone but if I would have gone through that, I would never want to use my magic again. The fact that your magic is willingly coming back, even if it's slow, it's enough. And the fact that you're still okay with your magic speaks for how strong you are."
Yena pursed her lips, trying hard not to cry. She only nodded, whispering a thanks, and the two stared at the starry sky endlessly.
—---------------------------
"This forest reminds me of Altarf," Yena said, hands on her hips as she looked around her, the trees in full bloom, providing a shadowed pathway through the forest. They had reached Wooyoung's territory and were in the forest- Kaus Medionalis- and it was eerily silent, which was very unsettling.
"It's better in real life, if that makes sense," Mingi felt a shiver run down his spine, "It's not this quiet- you can hear birds chirping, and there are many animals too."
"This feels too weird," Yena rubbed her arms, "Let's get out of the forest quick. It feels like someone is gonna attack me from behind."
Mingi agreed, and the two started walking- almost running through the forest. Yena suggested burning the forest altogether to clear the path as a joke, but Mingi was not having any of it- he was still traumatised by his experience in his childhood when he had burned almost all of the forest down.
They were half running- they wouldn't get physically tired, and it only took them an hour to cross the forest. The two stopped as if to catch their breath, except they weren't out of breath.
"If I'd run this much in reality, I would have disappeared into ashes," Mingi laughed.
"I'm sure I would have too," Yena laughed back. "So are we walking all the way to Rukbat now?"
"Times like these are when I wish I had wings," Mingi shook his head.
"You can always turn into a lizard and slither all the way to the mountains," Yena teased, "I'll chase you."
"And risk getting stepped on by you and getting crushed? Nah, I'm good," Mingi laughed, and Yena punched his arm playfully, saying she wasn't that careless.
"We could take a bicycle!" Yena clapped in realisation, "I used to ride one when I was little, a lot. I'm good with them."
"Nice idea," Mingi said, "Now where would we find a bicycle?"
"Well, you should know this area, I've never been here," Yena looked around, the forest behind her, and a few buildings in the distance.
"Probably in a market or residential area," Mingi said, "I've stopped feeling guilty about stealing all this stuff. Can I still not take anything back?"
“If you do manage to," Yena said, beginning to walk to the city, "that's when you'll actually feel guilty."
"True," Mingi grinned.
------------------------------
After spending days crossing the Kingdom of Sagittarius, Yena and Mingi finally reached Rukbat. The two wistfully gazed at the tall towers that belonged to Wooyoung's palace, and with a heavy heart, Yena decided she would just portal them both to the house in the mountains, impatient to test her theory now.
Yena opened the portal, taking Mingi's hand and crossing it, and as they exited, Mingi wiped sweat off his forehead- the first time he had experienced that since he entered this dimension.
"This is the place," Yena waved her hands around, turning to look at the small lake and then back at the house. "It's where they kept me."
"Seems pretty normal from the outside," Mingi commented.
"It's normal from the inside too," Yena opened the door, entering the room. "This is where I stayed."
Mingi looked around- the room was quite small, but it would have been okay for Yena because she was a child back then. "This looks like it's been cleaned well."
"Joon Hyuk probably," Yena scoffed. "He cleaned every trace meticulously."
Mingi peeked outside from the window- spotting ice coated tips of distant mountains from the little vision he had that was not blocked by the rocks of the mountain they stood at. "Not much to look outside, was there?"
"Only the moon shone here," Yena sighed, "It kept me company."
Mingi suddenly had a flashback of his mother telling him about soulmates- he didn't believe in soulmates yet. Maybe because he hadn't met someone like that yet- apart from his friends, which was different, of course. But at that moment, he really felt like Yena and Seonghwa were supposed to cross paths like this- Yena finding comfort in the moon that was the symbol of Seonghwa, Yena finding San accidentally and meeting Seonghwa through him, Seonghwa having dreamt of her way before he met her.
"What are you thinking?" Yena's eyes were sparkling with curiosity.
"Nothing," Mingi dismissed her, but she pouted, folding her arms.
"Is it related to Seonghwa and me?"
Mingi gaped at her- they really could read each other so well now. "Kind of."
Yena pursed her lips. "Do I want to know what it is?"
"Maybe," Mingi shrugged, "Maybe not. Now is not the time though- you should test your theory. Is your magic feeling okay?"
"It is," Yena admitted, roiling her magic up. It wasn't fully back yet, but it was close enough to take them back now- but she had to figure out which dimension they were in to do that, or else they would get lost forever.
Yena shut her eyes, recalling the feeling from decades ago. She couldn't- the emotions were gone now, but what was left was a memory, and it could work.
It just needed a jump.
"I think I might need your help," Yena said, not opening her eyes. "Lend me your power but force it instead of slowly giving it to me. Surprise my magic- it would trigger me and open the portal."
"Do you really have to go down that lane?" Mingi shook his head, "You could just take your time."
"I might have gotten bored of this dimension and your company," Yena scoffed, making Mingi laugh. "So if we're closer to going home, I want to do it quickly. Don't make me pull rank."
"As if you could do that!" Mingi gasped dramatically, "No one has ever been able to pull rank on me! Except Hongjoong. And maybe Seonghwa too. And maybe that one time when-"
Yena was about to slap Mingi, but he took that chance and grabbed her hand, sending his power instantly, not knowing how much was okay but hoping it was enough. Yena's magic recoiled and Yena used that feeling of invasion- violation when it was Joon Hyuk- to trigger open the portal.
Surprisingly, it worked. Mingi and Yena stared at the space in front of them where the door had been, now cleaved apart in two like a tear in a cloth, and various dark colours swirling inside.
"Is that a gateway? Or a portal?" Mingi's eyes were wide as he looked at Yena, who was still in shock from Mingi's sudden power rush.
"You could have warned me, Mingi," she said, "I think it might be both."
"You said to surprise you," Mingi was beaming at this point and Yena passed him an annoyed look, "Are we supposed to enter it?"
"We are supposed to wait," Yena started thinking of the possibilities. "At the very least, the darkling would have felt the magic. He might not come now, but he would come at one point. Unless he's forgotten me. Or unless someone else with the same power finds us first."
"In which case, we'd have to be very, very careful," Mingi gave her a look. "As of right now, I'm questioning why I'm even letting you meet a darkling who might very well do something to you- to us."
"What's the worst that could happen," Yena shrugged. "I can't think of anything worse that could happen that hasn't already happened, so I'm good."
Mingi shook his head in disapproval.
"And it's too late to think of the worst," Yena said, mouth parting in surprise as she spotted movement inside the portal.
Mingi pushed Yena behind him protectively- more reflexively, and Yena grabbed his arm, peeking at the figure that grew taller by every second, until it stood at the edge of the two dimensions.
"Someone grew up well," the darkling grinned at her.
It was the same face that Yena remembered- cruel. His black spiky hair was tied back, dark eyes twinkling devilishly at the two. Something about him still radiated a darkness to him, as if he would hang them both by their skins and enjoy the view- the sadistic smile said enough. But...
"You remember me?" Yena managed to ask after she was done scanning him.
"Of course I do," he said, "The faerie with the same power as me. Are you still a hostage?"
"No." Yena shook her head, "I was freed thanks to your warning- but things took a wild turn."
"I guess we have all the time in the world to discuss," he shifted on one leg, hand on his hip, "I'm curious. And who's this with the fire magic?"
"My friend," Yena cut Mingi before he could reveal his identity, "Anyways, the man who kept me hostage took all my memories before freeing me. He had a greater purpose in mind, if you recall."
The darkling nodded and Yena continued, "He wanted to travel back in time to save his nephew, but Junyoung- who's also a darkling, thank you so much for the hint- " Yena rolled her eyes, "-killed his uncle and wants me to do the same- save that nephew but for a different purpose."
"And what purpose is that?"
"To join hands with the Prince of Illusions, control him and me, use us to conquer this planet and take revenge on your people who abandoned him and didn't search for him all these years, apparently. Unless that's a sob story and he's just doing it for fun."
"It's probably a bit of both," the darkling said, "So why did you summon me?"
"You wanted a favour," Yena managed to say, her grip on Mingi's arm getting tighter, "What was it?"
"You tell," the darkling smirked, "What would I want to do with you?"
Yena thought for a good minute, then shrugged. "We have the same powers, so maybe nothing, or maybe the same as Junyoung?"
"Oh please, I'm not as pathetic as that corrupted darkling," he waved a hand at her, "I don't want you. I want him."
For a second, both Yena and Mingi thought that he was talking about Mingi, but then Yena's mouth widened in surprise.
"Why would you want Junyoung?" Mingi asked, "If he's a corrupted darkling, like you call him?"
"Just for fun," his smirk shook them both- their ideas of fun probably did not match, "And it's a win-win situation. You get rid of the headache, I get to have fun with Junyoung."
"What's the guarantee that you won't side with him and do what he wants?"
"Are you mocking me?" the smile vanished off his face, his eyes growing darker than they thought was possible, "I'm content with peace. My people are living their best lives, and that is all that matters. Why would I want power over planets? I'm not a kid- and I'm definitely older than I look."
Yena supposed he must be- it seemed like he spent a lot of time in different dimensions, which meant he must be older than he looked like- or maybe even younger, depending on which dimension he spent time on. Yena took a deep breath. "How do we know that we can trust you? You have to give us something."
The darkling looked from Yena to Mingi and back to Yena. "How about I teach you how to use your time magic so you can get back home? Without changing the timeline, without having spent too long here?"
Yena and Mingi both couldn't hide the surprise that crossed their faces and the darkling just laughed in a mocking tone. "You thought I couldn't guess? Why would you summon me otherwise?"
"Well," Yena began, her mouth dry, "I might be able to go back on my own-"
"Oh please, you don't even know which dimension you are in right now," he shook his head, "To your relief though, you are in the one where time travels 3:1- 3 here and 1 in reality," he paused as he saw Yena's legs go weak with relief, hanging on to Mingi tighter. "But to go back without time travelling, you'll need more practice- it doesn't look like you've been here many times."
"How are you able to guess?" Yena frowned, and Mingi tsk-ed at her, saying faeries with the same magic could, so darklings could too. The darkling just stood smiling, arms folded arrogantly.
Yena pursed her lips, looking at Mingi, and the two shared a subtle nod. Yena looked back at the darkling.
"Alright then. I owe you nothing after this."
"Wait!" Mingi put a hand up, stopping the darkling from stepping through the portal, "If you step here now, that means you'll be on the planet Mirinae?"
The darkling shook his head, "This is just an alternate dimension. When I go back, I'll have to open this portal and step on my planet before going back to reality."
"So what is the guarantee you won't decide to just live here?" Mingi narrowed his eyes.
"Son, I've been to not two but tens of planets, and as pretty as yours look, it's not my type," he said, stepping in the house and Yena shut the portal, drained. "She could do that too. If she wanted to."
"I'll pass," Yena mumbled. Somehow the thought of exploring different planets was overwhelming when she hadn't even seen half of this planet.
And she needed a long, long break before she ever attempted that.
"Since you're clearly drained," the darkling began, having spotted the beads of sweat on Yena's forehead, "Why don't we change locations and wait while you get your energy back?"
Yena shrugged, and the darkling opened a portal, making the two narrow their eyes. He groaned, shutting it, looking at Yena. "You do it then if you still don't trust me."
Yena mustered all the strength she had, Mingi putting a hand on her shoulder, lending her his energy too, and she portaled them to one of the grounds she had seen in Rukbat near Wooyoung's castle.
Yena slumped on the ground, Mingi sitting down with her, letting her use him for support. The darkling sat cross-legged too in front of them, eyeing Mingi.
"Prince of Fire?"
"Do you have such hierarchies too?" Yena asked, and he nodded.
"I'm the Prince of Space and Spirit. I don't have a twin like you."
"What's your name?"
"Neve," he answered. Yena nodded slowly.
"What's it like on your planet, now that the faeries and darklings don't live together anymore?" Mingi asked, resting his face on his hands, "Do you have internal conflicts?"
"Not as peaceful as I'd like it to be," he shook his head. "But way better than we were on Earth."
"Why did the faeries and darklings fight anyway?" Yena mumbled.
"Haven't you heard the stories?" Neve raised an eyebrow.
"I'd like to hear yours," Yena raised an eyebrow back.
Neve let out a short laugh. "Unless your ancestors lied to you, it was mostly a conflict for power. Conflict for the upper hand. We're guilty for toying with humans, but you're more guilty for fighting for power."
Mingi and Yena looked at each other- he wasn't lying. Their ancestors hadn't told them much, but it was something along these lines too.
"How did you get stuck here?" Neve looked at Yena, "Haven't you had training?"
"Not enough, apparently," Yena sighed, "When we met- after that, I had no memories of being the Princess of Space. I only remembered my name. It was only until I couldn't get my portals to work better and had these really bad headaches that I found out about the block in my mind, planted by Junyoung, which I found out later. It took me time, but then the princes gathered and Junyoung had plotted to kill one of the Princes, which ended up with me going back in time to save him."
"How long did you learn?"
"About 3 months in here," Yena said, "Anyways, it turned out he had plotted this to get me to learn the time magic in the first place. The rest you know."
Neve grinned, "I shouldn't say this, but as expected of a darkling- he really put a lot of thought into this."
Yena looked around the grass to search for a pebble to hit his face and wipe that grin off, but he just laughed, shaking his hands. "Why do you really want Junyoung back?"
Neve took a deep breath, "The Prince of Illusion is alive on our planet, and Junyoung is his son. He's my friend, so I ought to get his son back- even though he's a lost cause now. He'll know what to do with him."
"Are you sure that is a wise decision?" Mingi straightened, "Apart from him being almost insane, I don't think his father would be too pleased to see him- I know Junyoung won't be."
"His name is Kieran," Neve revealed. "Even he might not know this."
"Kieran," Yena's mouth went bitter, "Thanks for telling me- I felt guilty calling him Junyoung when the Junyoung we all know is dead and innocent. How did Joon Hyuk manage to summon... Kieran?"
"Apparently before he left Earth, he was in contact with a darkling," Neve shifted as he said, "Darklings are well informed of summoning magic- anyone with the right amount of power and connections can do it, really. We captured the darkling but he confessed that though he did teach him this method, he had no idea Joon Hyuk would use it to steal Kieran."
"He didn't foresee Junyoung's death, which is what made Joon Hyuk attempt it in the first place," Mingi said, and Neve nodded.
"What did you do with the darkling?"
"Used him to try to get Kieran back, but when that didn't work, we got rid of him."
Yena gulped- the simplicity with which he talked about such stuff reminded Yena that he was not a faerie but a darkling indeed. "Why did you help me at that time? Years ago?"
A faint smile grew on his face, and Yena frowned as he began, "It was kind of sad to see the Princess of Space at the mercy of the man who took Kieran and corrupted him too."
Mingi eyed him suspiciously, "Why did you not take Kieran back at that time?"
"I couldn't," he answered, and from his tone, both Mingi and Yena knew he was speaking the truth, "I had no idea if I would be able to take him back- I didn't possess the ability at that time. I might have tried, but I could have ended up going home and getting Kieran lost. Better he stay there than get lost in space, I thought."
"And now?" Yena asked.
"I spent the next years mastering that magic. You were able to bring Mingi here due to pure luck- your magic was held too long against your will so it worked. Now you'll have to learn the 'how' if you want to take him back with you. Unless you'd like to leave alone," he smirked at Mingi, whose mouth went dry at the thought of being alone in this dimension.
Yena, however, felt burdened by the knowledge that Mingi was relying solely on her to take him back. She would never leave him alone here- he had kept her from breaking down multiple times, kept her from going insane by providing company and hadn't let her feel alone for one second. Yena squeezed his hand in assurance.
"Teach me then."
-----------------------------
In ten days, Yena was able to muster an insurmountable amount of energy. Her power spoke out to Neve in a different way than it did to Yeosang or any of the other princes- it did not recognise him but wanted to get familiar with it, which was why her power willingly came back, a lot more sooner than Yena and Mingi had imagined.
Yena asked Neve if his power also reached out to her, and he admitted that it did. "Like magic always speaks out to the other- you cannot help it. Faeries or Darklings, we are the same species."
"Has there ever been a faerie and darkling child?" Mingi, who always monitored their sessions closely, helping out Yena every time she felt hopeless, asked.
"Many times, it used to be more common a century ago. Then the conflict began."
"So what were the children like?" Yena asked, wiping her sweaty palms on her shirt.
"Sometimes more faeries, sometimes more darkling," he shrugged.
"It feels like you're an ancestor of one," Yena smirked, grinning wider when his eyes widened at her deduction.
"How did you guess?"
"You're a big softie, that's why," Yena scoffed. "I thought it was age getting to you, but you can't be older than 30s- mentally older, yes. But I've spent ten days with you and you could easily pass as a faerie- if you would just wipe the permanent cruel grin off your face."
Neve shook with laughter, trying to not make a sound. "That is my staple."
Mingi shook his head at the two- they really had warmed up to each other a lot in the past days- practising nonstop, stopping only when she was drained during which time Neve would tell the stories of the different planets that existed, of the other creatures that lived but no one had a clue of. Mingi had to admit he enjoyed his stories- it was no surprise that he was part-faerie.
Plus the fact that he had saved Yena's life when she was little. The one act of kindness he did on her more than a decade ago was the reason why Yena was alive today.
Mingi's attention went to the two who had now started arguing over something about the science of portals and dimensions, and the wicked look Neve had on his face made Mingi realise he was a darkling after all. A better one though, he assumed, than the most of them.
"How much time can you afford here anyway?" Neve glared at Yena, "You've already spent more than a month here, do you realise? About three hours have passed there."
"It's not like I love staying here!" Yena rolled her eyes, "I can't risk it with Mingi."
Neve glared at Mingi who only pouted, and Neve looked away with a disgusted expression but half a smile, "If this were the other dimension- the one where time went slow- would you have been more desperate?"
Yena felt as if a bucket of water had been thrown over her. She glared at Neve, her breath quickening. "It took me a month to get my magic back, thanks to Kieran messing me up," her lips quivered as memories threatened to surface, and from the corner of her eye she saw Mingi get up to but she raised a hand, stopping him. "I don't want to cry it out in front of you, of all the people in this world, so I'm trying my best to get my magic to cooperate with me- the magic that is still afraid because of being violated so many times. So forgive me if I'm being patient, darkling."
Neve's mouth parted in surprise at the way she addressed her, but then he slowly nodded. Yena shook her head. "Only three hours have passed there," she said to herself, "So I'll take my time. And the only person I'll be sorry to when I go back is Mingi."
Mingi's heart ached- Yena wasn't meeting eyes with him. He wanted to tell her that it was alright, but he knew that no matter what he said, she would always be guilty for keeping him with her for so long here. He wanted to tell her that he did not mind at all, but he knew she wouldn't ever really believe him, because she too was tired of being here- he could see it in her eyes whenever they talked about reality.
Yena took a deep breath, and looked at Neve. "Let's start experimenting- but whenever we go through a time portal, we all go together," she looked at Mingi. "I won't leave him alone here- and you'll be with me so if I mess up too much, you can set it right."
Neve looked at the two, then shrugged. "Fine with me if it's fine with you."
The two looked at Mingi, who put up his hands in surrender, "I'll do whatever Yena says."
Yena laughed at the sight, finally relaxing. She looked at Neve, "Sorry if I went too overboard just now."
"My fault, really," he grinned, "Now, shall we begin our journey back home?"
Yena, eyes sharp with determination, nodded.
She would do this. For Mingi's sake.
For her sake.
--------------------------
"Do not make a sound. mask your powers."
Yena cursed internally as Neve glared at her, Mingi's mouth gaping open but he took to masking their powers along with Neve, who created a sphere around the three so they would be able to talk without anyone hearing.
"You messed up again."
Yena wasn't listening- she was looking at the bed- where Seonghwa and Yena from the past lay, sleeping. Yena's frown deepened as she looked around.
"We're in Hongjoong's palace- how are there two of you?" Mingi looked from the Yena that lay in bed to the Yena that stood next to him.
"We're in the past- this has to be some time before you and Yeosang arrived- when I was getting healed. Why are we here though?"
Neve shook his head, "Were you thinking about this particular moment? Seems like you got yourself a lover boy there."
"Please, Kieran took all my memories of my 'lover boy'. I don't even remember this," Yena bit her lip, thinking. "We must be here for a reason. Can I know what date it is here?"
Never glanced around, spotting the calendar, "11th."
Yena took a moment to rack her brain, "Seonghwa had a dream about killing Hongjoong. Kieran admitted to planting the dream where Hongjoong kills Seonghwa and I tell him I'll save him, but I don't remember him talking about this one dream."
"And why would he have planted this dream anyway?" Mingi said, "It helped you realise what was going to happen in the first place. His work- planting the trigger to make you time travel- it was already done."
"Ah," Neve looked around, smiling faintly as he shook his head, "I think we're here for a reason after all."
Yena looked from him to Mingi, "We planted that dream in him?"
"Let me make sure-" Neve went ahead, treading to where Seonghwa lay and touching his forehead lightly, shutting his eyes.
"You're right," he said, "We are planting this dream."
"How exactly?"
"Your brother must have that ability," Neve straightened, "Prince of Spirit- can plant dreams or look into the mind. You, however, are limited to space. Me? I'm both. So with my help, you are going to plant that dream in his mind so the timeline doesn't change."
"What if I don't? What if I just decide to stay here?" Yena countered, "This is the past, right? I could stay here, this Yena-" she pointed at herself sleeping in the bed, "-would disappear, leaving me. I'd kill Kieran, or you can take him back or whatever."
"Yena darling, it doesn't work that way. If you change what is supposed to happen, irreversible damage could be done. You only came here because of me. If you stay here, there's no guarantee which Yena will disappear. And if you do..."
"I don't understand," Yena groaned, "But... you're probably right. All of this... it was meant to happen, right?"
"It was meant to happen," Mingi smiled sadly, "otherwise you wouldn't be here."
"Changing the past always comes with a price, you've learnt that the hard way," Neve patted her shoulder. "You can only change the future, and for that, you don't really need to time travel."
Yena sighed. "Alright. How do I do this?"
"I could have done this on my own, but you have the memory of that night. So recall the event and when you have, tell me. I'll extract it from your mind, and plant it in his."
Yena took a deep breath, recalling the memory- not the dream Seonghwa had told her about, but the scene she had witnessed- Hongjoong looking at Seonghwa with cold eyes, Seonghwa picking up the sword-
Yena waved her hand, Mingi holding back his laugh because she was flapping like a duck. Neve shared an amused look then touched Yena's forehead, holding Yena's hand with his other hand and Yena opened her eyes, watching him plant the blue tendril of memory to Seonghwa's mind.
"That simple?"
"That simple," Neve smiled, "He'll wake up thinking it was a dream."
—----------------------
"You, of all people, shouldn't be here, Seonghwa."
Seonghwa glared at Hongjoong, who had dismissed everyone so he could talk with Junyoung. Seonghwa had insisted he joined, and Hongjoong had denied, taking Yeosang with him instead. However, he followed soon after.
"If you do have to be here," Yeosang said, "You can quit lurking in the corner like a bat and promise to behave when we talk."
"I'll try my best," he dragged a chair to sit with the two, facing Junyoung who was half-asleep due to lack of energy after Wooyoung had restricted his air intake for hours. Folding his arms, he leaned back and Hongjoong dragged his chair close to Junyoung.
"You, wake up," Hongjoong moved his fingers to send a spark at him, waking him up abruptly.
Junyoung's amber eyes were still angry. "Come to kill me now?"
"Not so easily," Hongjoong smirked, sitting down. "I have some questions."
"As if I'd answer them," he spat on the ground, narrowly avoiding Hongjoong's boots.
"You will, or I'll have to wake Wooyoung up too. I'm sure you don't want to be out of air again, do you?" Junyoung rolled his eyes, but it looked like he was half-convinced. "So tell me. What magic were you making Yena practise?"
"You know it's time magic," Junyoung said, "You already know why we were doing it-" he paused, looking at Yeosang and Seonghwa then back at Hongjoong, "Or perhaps... you don't know which dimension she went in?"
Junyoung's body shook with laughter as he realised they didn't. Hongjoong rubbed his hands, making the shackles burn him, and he growled in pain, frantically scratching at them. After a few seconds, Hongjoong stopped.
"Now. Tell me what magic you made her practice."
Junyoung sucked in his breath, "Like you did. A few minutes back, a few minutes forward. I knew she couldn't learn it so quickly, so I wanted her to at least learn a good few minutes before we went into another dimension where we could easily have all the time to learn."
"What went wrong?"
"She fought me back too many times," he shook his head, "I thought I had her convinced- I didn't see Mingi coming into the picture. I guess I should have known- it happened before too, in Rukbat. Keep her power blocked for too long and she ends up exploding."
"What happened in Rukbat?" Yeosang asked, putting a hand on Seonghwa's thigh so he wouldn't go to punch him.
"She accidentally transported us somewhere- it must have been another dimension or something else- I don't know what it was. Anyways, a darkling was there too."
Seonghwa and Yeosang looked at each other- the same darkling Yena saw in her dreams? It had to be.
"A darkling? Other than you?" Hongjoong asked in disbelief, "Are you sure it was another dimension and not some place else?"
"We were still in the same room, only it was darker- and that darkling must have the same magic as her to be present there."
"Coincidence or was this planned?" Seonghwa asked. "How do we know this wasn't all a part of your plan?"
"Do you think we saw that coming?" Junyoung scoffed, shaking his head so the hair would get out of his eyes. "We were as surprised as Yena herself. And the darkling- he knew I was one too- he could have taken me with him. Yena wasn't the only one suffering, you see."
For a second, Hongjoong felt pity. "How old were you when you were summoned?"
"Barely one. Joon Hyuk- that filth raised me as Junyoung- I don't even remember my name. I didn't know I was a darkling until the darkling we met told me so."
That was news to all of them- Hongjoong leaned back in his seat, surprised. He too had been robbed of a life he could have had, just like Yena.
"Sure, you were robbed of a normal life," Hongjoong began, and Junyoung was surprised to hear it, until he saw him glare at him. "Does that justify all of your actions?"
"What do you mean?"
Yeosang got up from his seat. "Sure, Joon Hyuk controlled you until you left Yena at Fomalhaut- let's say we don't hold you accountable for those 4 years. Let's say Joon Hyuk is to blame for all that happened for those 4 years. What do you have to say for yourself for the rest that happened?"
The look in Yeosang's eyes made Junyoung gulp, and he dreaded what came next. "You made sure the block was kept in her mind when you could have told her who she really was. You could have come to us as Junyoung and we would have made you a prince. Let's say you were still intimidated by Joon Hyuk- but you killed him about 3 years ago, didn't you?"
Junyoung looked down. He knew anything he said would only enrage them.
"What do you have to say for yourself, darkling?"
Junyoung's life flashed before his eyes- of tolerating Joon Hyuk; sometimes he treated him like a nephew and other times like filth, of the time he was Seoho and became Yena's friend, starting anew. The first time he had felt what it was like to be normal- only it had to be with Yena, of all the people. The time he killed Joon Hyuk when he had come to get rid of him altogether and kidnap Yena again. He had ended up in the bottom of the ocean, and Junyoung had realised then- that he was not going to tell Yena who she was after all. He wanted power- the power he felt when he finally got rid of the one who had controlled him all these years.
Junyoung began to laugh, slowly at first, but it turned hysterical. He put his head back, laughing as he looked at Yeosang.
"It was fun while it lasted."
Before Yeosang could punch him, Seonghwa was already holding him by the collar, already having broken his nose and making blood spray on the both of them. Hongjoong and Yeosang held him back as Seonghwa cursed at him, trying to bite his face off.
They heard a shuffling sound, and San and Wooyoung entered, eyes wide and faces pale.
"She's here. They're back."
Even Junyoung paled when he heard those words and Yeosang almost fell as he walked to the two. "Where is she? Upstairs?"
The door to the dungeon opened, and the princes entered, followed by Mingi, Yena and... a stranger. All it took was one look as Yena looked at Yeosang before she rushed to hug him, crushing him as she tried to hold her tears back.
She wouldn't cry. Not right now.
"Are you alright?" Yeosang asked, breaking the hug to check her face, "Are you hurt?"
"I'm okay," she said. She looked at Hongjoong and Seonghwa-
Her heart ached at the way he was looking at her, but she... she didn't remember. The emptiness in Yena's eyes when Seonghwa met her said enough.
Yena shook her head, clearing her throat, walking towards Junyoung, Neve following close behind.
"Hello, Kieran."
Junyoung's face paled as he looked at Neve, realising that he was both the darkling they had met and someone who knew his identity- his name, apparently.
"Who are you?"
"Who are you is the real question, Kieran," Neve smirked, "You're the Prince of Illusion- at least in our world. And I'm here to take you back."
"I don't want to go back," Kieran started struggling in his chair. "You didn't take me back when I was little, why now?"
"I wasn't sure what to do with you," he circled slowly around him, scanning the 7 young princes in front of him as he did, "Your father missed you terribly, but would he have wanted you back if you were corrupted? I don't think so. You see, even we darklings have a moral code. You'd kill your own just to have fun, I saw that in your eyes all those years ago."
"You're lying."
"Okay, one of the reasons was because I didn't have the means to take you back... but turns out my assessment of you was right, wasn't it?"
There was a moment of silence, and Yena watched sweat drip from Kieran's forehead. Yena walked towards him slowly, nodding subtly at Neve before fisting Kieran's hair in her hand and making him meet eyes with her.
"How do you like it now, Kieran? Now that you are in my place," she looked at the shackles on his wrists, realising they were Hongjoong's. "Go ahead and beg for your life, Kieran. Maybe I'll think about it."
"Come on, Yena, don't you think you're going too far-"
"Don't say my name," Yena spat, pushing him back, "Don't you dare say my name with that filthy tongue."
"Don't take me, you can just kill me," Kieran pleaded, "Please."
"I asked you to kill me too, didn't I?" Yena's voice was low, and everyone looked at her in surprise, "When you took my memories. When you tried replacing Seonghwa with yourself- I asked you to kill me. Did you?"
Seonghwa staggered, and Hongjoong caught him, rubbing his back as they heard Yena go on, "When you repeatedly touched me- tried to force yourself on me, I asked you to kill me. Did you?" Did you?!"
"Yena-" Neve held her back before she could try something, and she pushed frantically.
"Give me my memories back, give them back, you bastard," Yena sobbed, turning to face Neve as she cried, not wanting Kieran to see her sobbing when she hadn't broke down like this in front of him even when he had at her at her worst. Neve half hugged her in comfort, glaring at Kieran, and the princes other than Mingi looked at the two, surprised.
"Take him, Neve," Yena wiped her face, "I don't care what you do with him- just take him away from me, please."
"I will," Neve promised, "But if you want to kill him right now, I won't stop you."
"Yena-" Yeosang's voice sounded, but Neve held his hand up.
"It's her decision. Let her."
Yeosang stopped, nodding. If she wanted to kill him...
"Take him," Yena said, satisfied when Kieran started struggling again. "He's not worthy of getting my hands dirty."
Neve squeezed her hands, taking her to the side. "I'll go now. I'll take him to our planet, hand him over to his father, and he'll decide what to do. I won't take these shackles off, but we'll make sure he won't have enough power to try anything."
"Won't you stop? For a while?" Yena asked, and Neve chuckled.
"Is this coming from the same person who wanted me gone the second we got here?"
"Well, the one month I spent with you wasn't all that bad," Yena smiled. "Thank you, Neve. For everything. For that time, too."
Yena took that time to scan his face one last time before he left- the cruel lines etched on his face, the scar near his eyebrow, the dark eyes, tendrils of hair falling on his forehead with the rest slicked back, turning at his neck. Neve smiled, and this time, there was no cruelty in the lines of his face. "Take care of yourself, kid."
Yena rolled her eyes and looked at Mingi, who joined too. The two shared a brief hug and Mingi thanked him, "If you ever wish to explore, you know where to find me."
"Back at you. Thanks for the offer," Neve nodded, and looked at the other princes one last time, then looked at Yena, ruffling her hair. "Goodbye kid. Be the princess you were meant to be."
"Are you sure you're a darkling?" Yena asked for the umpteenth time, and Neve laughed out loud, shaking his head as he went to Kieran.
"He's taking him," Yena looked at Hongjoong, Seonghwa and Yeosang, who stood together. "If you have anything to say, say it now."
The three shook their head, and Yena turned, nodding at Neve before opening a portal with just a wave of her hand, Yeosang watching in surprise- she truly had mastered it. Kieran shouted, trying to break free, and Neve looked at Wooyoung.
"Prince of Air?"
Wooyoung straightened, nodding.
"Do me a favour and put him out cold before he makes my ears bleed," Neve shook his head.
"Darkling indeed," Mingi, who was standing next to Yena, mumbled, making the two grin. Wooyoung grinned as well, waving a hand and putting him to sleep in a second. Neve grabbed the chair and Yena brought the portal forward, sharing one last smile before he disappeared.
Mingi put an arm around Yena, and the others watched as they stared into the space in silence, probably sharing words that none of them could hear. They let the two have their moment, until Yena finally turned, smiling at them all sadly.
"I'm home," she said, tears rolling down her cheeks, and Hongjoong went first, hugging her, Yunho and Jongho joining soon, then San and Wooyoung saying she could have done this when she arrived in Mingi's room out of nowhere and insisted that they go straight to the dungeon. The three shared a group hug, and then Yena spotted Seonghwa watching her.
"I do remember you," Yena said, and Seonghwa frowned, "Just not the way you do. But I remember you being my friend," Yena walked towards him slowly, and Seonghwa held himself back. She hugged him, brief but sure, before looking him in the eyes, searching his face.
"Take your time," Seonghwa said, smiling in relief that she hadn't entirely forgotten him, though his heart hurt. Yena nodded, turning to Yeosang.
"Take me home."
---------------------------
Cheetah rushed to the Prince's chamber as soon as she heard that Yena was back.
Yena was pacing back and forth in the living room as she heard about the princes' visit to Fomalhaut and how Cheetah had been with them the entire time, searching for her and waiting anxiously.
As soon as she heard her footsteps and saw Cheetah, Yena sighed in relief to see her mentor- the closest thing she had to a family, to a sister, and rushed in her arms as she spread them, the princes smiling as they left the room, giving the two space.
Cheetah broke the hug, holding her face as she scanned it, "I am so glad that you're okay!"
Yena smiled, nodding, "Thank you for looking for me."
"Of course I would, silly," Cheetah waved a hand at her, "Why wouldn't I?"
The two sat, and Cheetah caressed her head as Yena told her all about how her life had changed since she left Fomalhaut. "Thanks to you, I'm home now."
"It's all you, Yena," Cheetah smiled, "All you."
Cheetah then told her about how Kieran, as Seoho, had come to Fomalhaut inquiring about Yena, which was how he had found her in Altarf- nothing had been a coincidence. "I just can't wrap my head around the fact that it's our Seoho who was... him."
"I think it's better if we just remember Seoho like we do- a friend. It's the only way I can move on. I feel like he himself, as Seoho, saw what could have been a normal life. Up until he left Fomalhaut... I want to remember him as Seoho, the friend we knew. After that... He's just Kieran. I guess I can't really wrap my head around it too."
"I understand," Cheetah said, "Anyways, the past is the past, Princess," Yena smiled at how she addressed her, "It will take some time, but I hope you get to move on and live happily."
"I hope so too," Yena said, staring into space, "I hope so."
-----------------------
Yeosang insisted that they stay the night here so they could travel properly tomorrow, and Yena agreed. They went to the living room, Yena sitting with Yeosang as they told her how they had found out her location but had been only a few seconds late.
"If I had known, I would have stalled more time," Yena said, "Mingi came to me as a salamander that day! I was so startled when he started moving in circles trying to convince me that he was... Mingi."
Wooyoung laughed loudly, slapping Mingi's arms. "You could have done something else!"
"I did!" Mingi huffed, "I wrote my name on the floor and then she realised!"
"How did you figure it out, Mingi?" Hongjoong asked.
"I had a hunch, but I decided to check out Yena's kingdom before going to mine, just to be sure," Mingi began, "Once we entered my territory, even Wheein and Taehyung felt it- they're alright, aren't they?" Yeosang nodded, and he continued, "I ditched going to Regulus first and went straight to Algieba."
"We sent a letter in Regulus," Wooyoung said, "About who Junyoung- Kieran was and what he wanted. It never got to you. Instead, your message got to us."
"We weren't sure still," Yunho said, "It could have been a distraction, so we decided to split when we came. Hongjoong, Seonghwa and I stayed back. As soon as the rest reached, they informed us, and we were there in an hour then."
"By then it was too late," Yeosang shook his head, "Where did you go, Yena?"
"The dimension we went to when I was learning time travel to save Seonghwa," Yena said, "but I didn't know that. I just had time to attempt it and failed two times before succeeding the third time. And I-"
Yena stopped as she remembered how she had screamed when she had finally found herself safe. She looked at Mingi, and he understood. "She didn't know where we were- she was too exhausted. Her magic, it screamed, Yeosang. And I thought all her magic left her- I could feel nothing on her."
Yeosang frowned, looking at Yena worriedly, "Did you lose consciousness then?"
"Only for a few hours," Yena said, "then we decided to wait for my magic to come back, and got out of that place."
"So you spent how much time there?" San asked.
"About two months," Yena said, and Seonghwa cursed under his breath. "Thanks to Neve, it was a shorter time than expected."
"He's a darkling, isn't he?" Jongho asked, "I could see it as soon as I saw him."
"He's part-faerie," Yena defended him, making Mingi laugh, "Kieran made me remember that time, when I used to dream about him-"
"You told me," Seonghwa looked at Yena, whose eyes went wide in surprise- she didn't recall ever telling that to anyone. The fact that she had told Seonghwa... "You owed him a favour."
"I did," Yena nodded, "He had saved me that time in Rukbat. I had accidentally done the same thing I did now, and he happened to be in the same dimension- pure coincidence. He has the same magic as me- he's the Prince of Space and Spirit in his world. That's why he didn't like seeing me in that state. He recognised Kieran too."
"How did you meet him again?" San asked.
"After twenty days, we went to Rukbat in hopes that I could summon him. I did- except I learned that I had opened a portal to his planet. A gateway, if you will. He remembered me. We made a deal- he'd teach me this magic so we could go back, and in return, he'd get to take Kieran."
"But he offered you the choice," Jongho frowned, "He offered you to kill him."
"We spent many days together, Jongho," Yena smiled. "Even a darkling gave in to my charms in that period of time."
"And, Yena's back," Hongjoong announced as everyone laughed.
"No, but he's a nice person," Mingi said, "He's part-faerie which probably is a factor, but he had values. Darklings aren't all that bad."
"Not all darklings," Wooyoung rephrased, and Mingi nodded, yawning.
"I haven't slept in 60 days," Mingi realised. "This is the first time I yawned. Wow. I feel... strange."
"Tell me about it," Hongjoong shook his head, "I spent 120 days there. It's a miracle I haven't gone insane."
"You sure about that?" Seonghwa teased, and Hongjoong shook his head, smiling.
"You both should rest," Yeosang said, "Let's all go to my kingdom tomorrow. We deserve a break."
Everyone agreed, and Mingi went to his room, glad to see his bed, slumping and falling asleep instantly. "Make sure he didn't die just now," Wooyoung said to Jongho, who actually went and checked if he was still breathing, making an 'ok' sign. Yena shook her head.
"Come on, you can sleep with me," Yeosang said, and Yena nodded, following him to their room, staring at him as he took off the extra layers.
"What?" Yeosang asked.
"I'm just glad to see you," Yena smiled, and Yeosang smiled back, ruffling her hair. Yena washed up, changing into one of Yeosang's night suits, and slumped down next to him.
"Yeosang, I'm not sure if my memories of Seonghwa are all he took," Yena said. "How much time have we spent together, you and I?"
Yeosang looked at her. "We met in the previous timeline for a day, then spent four months in the dimension, then when you came back, everything went wrong."
Yena sighed in relief. "I remember I met San first- I think I remember all of him. Then I met Jongho, Wooyoung, then Seonghwa and Hongjoong. I remember the first timeline. But then, after changing the timeline, Yunho saved me... I remember that I spent some days with him. We went to Seonghwa's castle, and that's where it gets blurry."
"Do you remember some of it?" Yeosang asked. "What happened between you two?"
"I remember arguing with him a lot," Yena admitted, "I remember flashes of the three of us together, but when it was only Seonghwa and I... I don't remember any of it. We went to Antares together, right?"
"You stayed in his room for a week," Yeosang said, "I guess you two were... close by then."
"Really? I don't remember that. I only remember searching for 'Junyoung', and the time I realised who he was, and the rest."
"So he only took the good memories with Seonghwa," Yeosang shook his head, "That's cruel. Seonghwa can give you your memories back, you know."
"He can?" Yena frowned, and Yeosang tilted his head, "Don't you remember how he showed you his childhood memories with you?"
"I remember that memory," Yena admitted, "But I don't remember him showing me that."
"Then he took all the good memories including the previous timeline. Do you remember waking up all night with him in the garden and just talking?"
Yena tried to recall, getting flashes. "Some of it."
Yeosang sighed, "Seonghwa can give you your memories back, if you want. Take your time, Yena. You don't have to feel obligated to recall those memories if you're not ready."
"Thanks," Yena said, watching him yawn, "And go to sleep."
Yeosang smiled, shutting his eyes, and Yena watched him, falling asleep as well.
Only to wake up drenched in sweat. The nightmares had begun.
Yena shook her head, making sure not to make a sound and wake Yeosang up as she went to the bathroom and washed her face, looking at her reflection.
She looked... older. Her face wasn't fresh anymore like it used to be. She supposed all that time took a toll on her.
Yena tried opening the window, but it was creaking, so she decided to go out to get some air. She was on the way to the terrace when she spotted Seonghwa wandering in the hallways. "What are you doing up?"
Seonghwa jumped slightly, sighing in relief when he saw Yena, "Wanted to get some air. You?"
"Same," Yena said, "Aren't you... a night-owl?"
Seonghwa gave her a sideway look, "You remember?"
"It just came to me," Yena admitted, following him to the terrace. "I remember flashes. We used to wake up all night because I couldn't sleep, right?"
"And here we are again," Seonghwa smiled, patting the space next to him so she could sit.
Yena stared at the purple moon- his moon. The orange sun glowed in the background. "Yeosang said you could give me my memories back?"
Seonghwa scanned her face, "Take your time. I won't do it right now- you'll feel overwhelmed."
Yena smiled at how similar he sounded to Yeosang then- and protective. "I will," Yena agreed, "But when I'm ready, don't refuse."
"I won't," he laughed.
"Can you tell me, though?" Yena looked at him, "What was I to you? What were we? Why did Kieran take these memories away, what did you mean to me?"
Seonghwa sighed as he looked at her. "You made me fall for you not once, but twice," Seonghwa said, and Yena's heart did a somersault, "In the first timeline, when I healed you. Nothing much happened between us, so you might remember most of it."
"I do," Yena admitted, "You were an uptight sadist at first, but warmed up eventually."
Seonghwa laughed out loud- so San hadn't lied when he had told her what Yena thought of him. "That's your first impression of me, yes. We used to sit like this in Hongjoong's garden all night, talk about anything and everything. I showed you your memories of your childhood."
"I don't remember that part," Yena admitted. "I remember the memory you showed me, though."
Seonghwa nodded. "I didn't know at that time- and then I died, and then we were back in the past, and this time you were the hot headed stubborn girl I met who claimed to be the Princess."
"Ah, I see," Yena smirked. "I remember that, you know."
Seonghwa grinned, "You remember how we argued so much?"
"I do."
"Do you remember when you kissed me?"
"I kissed you first?" Yena flushed, and Seonghwa laughed.
"And caught me quite off-guard. It's how I show my memories- I join my forehead with yours. That's how I showed you my memory, and you wanted to... test a theory."
"Oh," Yena bit her lip, looking down. "This is embarrassing to hear."
"Wait till you see it," Seonghwa smirked.
Yena looked at him, "Look at you enjoying this!" She slapped his arm, hoping he wouldn't see her flushed cheeks.
Seonghwa smiled, "Anyways, we spent a lot of time together. I fell in love with you, and realised that I was in love with you in the previous timeline too. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you... couldn't find you."
"Seonghwa," Yena sighed, hesitating before putting a hand on his, "You don't have to be sorry for anything. Let's blame everything on Kieran and live happily, all of us. It's no one's fault- some things are meant to happen."
He only sighed, looking down at his feet. "Anyways, we're friends before anything else, so don't hesitate to talk to me whenever you want. And if you don't want your memories back... I would understand."
Yena shook her head at him, making him face him. "I didn't forget the feelings I had for you, Seonghwa," she said and Seonghwa's eyes widened. "I know that I love you- even Kieran couldn't take that away from me. I just don't remember how it happened. He thought he could take your place- but he didn't know my feelings for you won't change even if he replaced the memories. My heart knows you, Seonghwa. My mind doesn't."
Seonghwa's breath hitched, his lips parted in surprise. She did remember that she loved him- that was enough for him. Yena hesitantly touched his hair in front of his face, pushing it back. "It would be too overwhelming to get the memories back all of a sudden. So I'll wait, and when I'm ready, I'll come back to you, okay?"
"Are you sure?" Seonghwa asked.
"I am," Yena assured him, nodding. "I am sure."
Seonghwa smiled, unable to resist as he leaned forward and kissed her cheek, lingering before drawing back, smirking when he saw he flush again. Yena pushed him, laughing. "See? My heart knows."
Seonghwa held her hand, and the two sat side by side for the rest of the night.
----------------------------
"We're portaling, or you lot can take your damn time," Yena glared at Wooyoung and Jongho, "Come on! It's just one time!"
"It makes me nauseous!" Wooyoung complained. "I'm gonna throw up on you if I feel sick then. Are you okay with that?"
"I'd like to see you try," Yena challenged.
"The darkling- was his name Neve?" Jongho asked, "Some of his attitude clearly rubbed off on you."
"Rich coming from you when you've been whining like Wooyoung here," Yena scoffed. "I think you two should take a break from each other."
"God help us," San sighed, looking up at the ceiling, going in between Yena and the two who were having a staring contest. "Can one of you be mature about this?"
"San," Yena whined, "I just want to go back home, as quickly as possible. Sure, I'm being impatient, but I am done travelling for a while. I can portal us all now, what's wrong with that?"
San looked at Wooyoung and Jongho. Wooyoung sighed, "You know I got sick that time too. What if I throw up?"
"If it would save us about six hours of travelling then I don't mind you throwing up," Yena said. San actually agreed with her- he was done travelling for a while now too.
"Let's vote," Hongjoong, amused as he had been watching the three bicker back and forth all the time with the others, said. Yena clapped her hand, mentally taking a note of who would vote in her favour.
"All those in favour of portaling to Yeosang's castle?" Hongjoong asked, raising his own hand along with Seonghwa, Yeosang, Mingi, San, Cheetah and Yena.
"Seonghwa only voted because he's her boyfriend!" Wooyoung shouted, getting up, making everyone laugh. "And Mingi- he's probably used to it now! And San- you little-"
"Please," San shook his head, "I'm used to portaling. I've probably portaled the most out of all of you, don't even come at me."
Yena put an arm around San's neck, thanking him as the two smirked at Wooyoung. Jongho looked at Yunho. "Does it also make you nauseous?"
"No, I just wanted to make it hurt less for you both that's why I didn't vote."
"Hey!" Wooyoung scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief. "I hate you all."
"Come on," Yena punched his arm playfully, "You can throw up on me if you feel like it. Deal?"
Wooyoung looked at her, thinking. "You hear that, Jongho? You can too."
"Deal," they agreed.
"Now that you're done arguing," Yeosang shook his head at them all. "Shall we?"
With everyone present, Yena looked at Yeosang and nodded. Neve had told her that she could open the portal to an unknown place as long as someone with her knew about that place. So Yeosang, holding Yena's hand, envisioned his castle- just outside the castle where Yena would be able to see the whole thing, and with a nod, they entered, hand in hand.
In an instant, they were outside Yeosang's castle- the black and white magnificent towers high among the clouds, the sound of the sea welcoming them. Yena looked around in wonder- it was beautiful.
"Welcome home," Yeosang took her hand and led her towards the entrance. The guards all bowed, saying "Welcome home" in unison as well. It looked like they had been informed beforehand. Yena bowed back to everyone as she went, not missing the look of pride and wonder in everyone's eyes as they walked inside.
The wooden doors opened, and then she was inside the castle, the gardens full of blue, purple and white hydrangeas. Once they reached the main door, they were welcomed by Taehyung and Wheein, who looked at Yena with wonder, their eyes laced with silver. Yeosang told her that they were the ones with Mingi, and Yena shook hands with them, thanking them for finding her, saying she was in their debt.
The inside of the castle was elegant- silver and blue themed, like their magic. Yeosang led her to the throne room, where two instead of one chairs awaited- for the twins. Namjoon was already present, bowing at the two.
"Welcome home, Princess. I'm Namjoon, Prince Yeosang's Right Hand."
"Thank you," Yena said, looking at San for help, who laughed silently. He knew the change was making her uncomfortable- she was not used to people bowing at her. Yeosang noticed.
"I guess you'll have to get used to the bowing thing and being addressed as Princess."
"I guess so," Yena smiled.
Yeosang left her hand, going to Namjoon and muttering something to him. With a nod, he left the room.
"What are you planning?" Yena narrowed her eyes.
"Your coronation," Yeosang said, "Your crown awaits you. If you want to do it here, or in your palace, that's up to you."
Yeosang had told her about her coronation the night before- saying that once she entered her kingdom, she was bound to be crowned. Despite that, Yena cringed, making everyone laugh at her expressions and Cheetah wriggled her eyebrows. "Can we keep it small? Just us?"
"Of course," he laughed, "If you want it to be grand, we can arrange that too."
"I only need you guys," Yena looked at all of them, "So let's just get it over with."
Namjoon returned with Wheein, Taehyung and various other people. "The court members insist they be present when you finally crown our Princess."
"Yena, you're a Princess of this land too, like I am of yours," Yeosang looked at her with pride, "These are your court members too. Allow them."
"Of course," Yena looked at all of them, who smiled in victory, "How can I reject so many people?"
"Can we have a party too while we're at it?" One of the women with a deep voice shouted, and everyone hooted, making Yena laugh in disbelief.
"Let's make it grand for us!" A man with blonde hair said, and Yena looked helplessly at the Prince, who waited eagerly for her response.
"Uh, I guess we can, tonight?"
Everyone cheered, and the women came forward, saying they would be stealing Yena to prepare her for the ceremony after they had lunch. Namjoon rushed them to the dining hall, where food was served and Yena sat between Seonghwa and Yunho, marvelling at the effort the chefs put in the food.
"If I eat so much now," Yena said, drinking the soup from her noodles, "What will I eat at dinner?"
"I thought you missed food staying in that dimension for so long," Yunho scoffed.
"Don't underestimate how much I can eat," Yena said, "But I suddenly feel full."
"It's the nerves," Seonghwa told her. Yena realised he was right.
"When did you all get your coronation?" Yena asked.
"Before our parents died, they crowned us," Seonghwa replied, "We were little, but we were very, very nervous."
"Very," Yunho added, and the two grinned when Yena blanched.
"What will I have to do?"
"Someone should walk you down the aisle," Seonghwa said, "And Yeosang will be waiting at the other end, and read the formalities- he'll probably skip that, and then crown you. You'll sit at the throne, and everyone will bow once. Something like that- it's been too long."
"Am I ready?" Yena asked out loud.
"I'd say you are," Yunho said, "But you can take your time learning about how to be a princess. The reason Yeosang is doing this is to let the world know that the Princess is back."
Yena took a deep breath. She would do this. For all of them.
For herself.
Seonghwa put a hand on her thigh, rubbing it to comfort her. "You'll be okay."
Yena took his hand in hers, squeezing it. "We'll be okay."
As promised, after lunch, the four women led her to their room with the makeup and accessories already out on the dressing table. They seemed to be quite close.
"I am Solar," the woman with a blonde bob and the friendliest smile said, "I'm in charge of managing the communication between the two castles and making sure everything runs smoothly. Basically, I'm the Left Hand."
The others laughed at the choice of her words, and Yena nodded, saying she seemed to be doing a great job. Next, the woman with beautiful lilac hair greeted her, "I'm Moonbyul, Yeosang's bodyguard along with Jungkook. For when he travels, unless he takes her and Taehyung," Moonbyul pointed at Wheein.
"I'm Hwasa," the woman with dark hair and bronze skin said, "I'm the Prince's Healer."
"Really nice to meet you all," Yena bowed, noticing they must be friendly enough with the Prince to address him by his name, "What's cooking here?"
"Well," Solar went to the wardrobe and took out a long, navy blue gown made of net and tiny sparkles making it shimmer, a silver belt around the waist area. Yena gaped as she scanned the dress.
"This was your mother's," Moonbyul told her. "She wore it when she crowned Yeosang- you were not present. Yeosang thought you'd wear it now."
"It's lovely," Yena was speechless. "Am I really fit to wear this?"
"Of course you are," Wheein smiled, "Let's get you ready."
After wearing the dress and admiring how it looked on her, Solar gave her silver heeled sandals that she said she went and bought yesterday, just for her. They tied her hair in a crowned braid, letting the rest of her hair flow down naturally, and applied some makeup, joking about how it felt like they were doing makeup on Yeosang. Yena laughed, saying they don't look that much alike anymore, but Hwasa insisted this resemblance was enough.
"Who should walk you down? We'll call them here."
Yena bit her nails nervously. "I don't know who. It would feel like I'm favouring one of them over the other."
"You can have two. You can have all of them walk behind you," Wheein suggested, and Solar shook her head.
"You can have two, if you want. They won't mind, I know them," Solar assured her, "Just think about who you're most comfortable with."
Yena thought then. It had to be San, who found her. Who led her to where she was today. Did she want someone else with him too?
Maybe Hongjoong and Seonghwa, who had healed her. Maybe Wooyoung and Jongho, who led her to the place she had been kept hostage. Maybe Yunho who saved her life. Or Mingi who kept her from going insane in that dimension.
"I don't know," Yena groaned, "If I choose one or two, what will the rest of them be doing?"
"They'll each be present with some of your mother's items, I think," Moonbyul said, "Like your mother's ring, her brooch, and some flowers. First they'll put the brooch on your dress, then they'll put the ring on you, and then Yeosang will crown you."
"Okay," Yena nodded. "I'll walk with San and Cheetah. I think... yeah. San and Cheetah it is."
"Sounds good," Wheein said, "Prince San- it's because he found you, right?"
"Yes," Yena smiled. "I wouldn't be here today without him."
"We'll call them," Hwasa said, rubbing her arms, "Good luck, Princess Yena."
"From tomorrow, you're all calling me Yena," Yena pouted, and the four laughed, leaving her alone to get San and Cheetah.
For the few minutes that they were gone, Yena kept nervously pacing in the room, tugging at her dress, wondering if she had made a wise decision by choosing San. She hoped no one would mind- if she could, she would have gone hand in hand with everyone.
A knock sounded and Yena cleared her throat, and San entered, clad in a black embroidered jacket with silver. His hair was swept back, and as he entered, he sucked in his breath, running a hand through his hair.
"Princess Yena," he huffed, "It is an honour."
"Oh please," Yena rolled her eyes, making him smile, "I was so nervous, it was such a hard decision! Did anyone mind? Where's Cheetah?"
"Of course not," San said, coming near her. "Cheetah's getting ready, she'll be here in a few minutes. I understand why you chose her, but I'd very much like to hear the reason you chose me."
"If I could, I would have walked with you all, hand in hand."
"Too bad you're not an octopus," San grinned, and Yena shook her head.
"Anyways, the reason I asked. You know it. I wouldn't be here without you today, San."
San smiled proudly at her, "It's all you, Yena. Trust me when I say that."
"Come on," Yena punched his chest lightly, "Admit it. It was a little bit you too."
San thought. "A little bit? Maybe."
Yena laughed, "Seriously, though. Thanks for not ignoring me that one time you found me."
"Thanks for not ditching me," San raised his brow, "when I was clearly lying about who I was."
"Look at you being all humble now," Yena rolled her eyes, "I'm so nervous, San. How do I look?"
San scanned her, "Honestly? You look beautiful. I can't wait to see Seonghwa's face when he sees you."
Yena flushed, making San smirk. "You never blushed at his name before. Do you remember?"
"I don't, actually, which is probably why I do," Yena admitted. "Once I do, I think I'll handle the idea better."
San looked grim. "Did you forget... everything?"
Yena breathed, "Only the... romantic parts, I think."
San whistled, and Yena shrugged, "I'll remember soon. It's coming back to me slowly, I guess Kieran didn't do that good of a job."
San made her sit, saying they had time, and looked at her. "What did he do to you, Yena?"
Yena bit her lip, and San waved his hand, "If you want to talk about it. I'm here, anytime you want to."
"You're the only person I'll be comfortable enough to talk about it with," Yena admitted, "Since you know first-hand what they did to me in Rukbat. Apart from you, Mingi knows most of it too."
San knew she was referring to him seeing her memories whenever he soothed her magic. Yena took a deep breath, "I won't tell Seonghwa- it would make him... angry. But San, Kieran... he was twisted and damaged beyond repair. He wanted to make me queen because he wanted to use me as a weapon too, apart from the other thing he meant. While I was tied up, at first he was being cruel- but then he started being all... weird. It's like he wanted me to think of him as Seoho, and then wanted me to... love him, like I love Seonghwa."
"Did he-"
"That's why he took my memories," Yena nodded, "He wanted to replace himself with Seonghwa- he didn't know it wouldn't matter because my feelings were in my heart. I know I love Seonghwa, I just don't know why, or how. And Kieran... he touched me, San. He..."
San sat down beside her, rubbing her back, "You don't have to talk about it. At all."
"I want to, before I walk down and become a princess. I want to get it out as Yena- not Princess Yena."
San understood- everything was going to change tonight. It was the last hour of being simply Yena.
"I owe you an apology, San. For a few moments in Rukbat, I hated you."
"Why?" San almost whispered after a pause, his heart twisting.
"He made me see illusions, and memories," Yena sighed. "He knew I was the closest to you, and he used that to get me to spill information, to get anything from me. He would wear Seonghwa's skin and your skin, and even Hongjoong's skin, and he-"
San put an arm around her as she cried silently, wiping her face, "He made me hate you three for some moments. I owe you all an apology."
"You don't owe us anything, Yena," he said, "I'm sorry that he did that to you. I'm sorry we didn't find you sooner."
"You couldn't have," Yena shook her head. "It's a wonder Mingi did."
San sighed, wiping her face. "It's alright now. The nightmares- they'll go away, everything will become a distant memory. You'll be fine now, Yena. And if you want- Seonghwa can take your memories away too, if you want."
Yena shook her head, "I'm fine. I'll be fine, thanks to you all."
San smiled, "I'm so proud of you, Yena. You only break down in front of us. I'm so proud that Kieran didn't get the best of you," he kissed her forehead. "Your parents would be so proud."
Yena smiled, "Thank you."
"Come on now, you look terrible. Let's fix your makeup," San said, grabbing her hand and making her sit in front of the mirror, holding her hair back as she fixed her makeup, and Yena smiled, "This is reminding me of how you used to hold my hair back every time I threw up."
"A memory I'd love to forget," San scrunched his nose. "There's a thing called hair-ties, you know?"
"They make my scalp hurt," Yena shrugged.
San rolled his eyes, and a knock sounded. It was Wheein and Cheetah. She gasped when she saw Yena fixing her makeup, and glared at the culprit.
"Prince San! Did you make her cry?"
"I did not!" San raised his hands in surrender, "She cried herself!"
"I'm done now," Yena looked at Wheein and Cheetah, "I look okay, right?"
"Beautiful," Cheetah smiled proudly at her.
Wheein nodded. "It's time."
Yena got up, and San offered her his arm, which she took with a smile. "Goodbye, Yena. Hello, Princess Yena."
