so we got another 'Funeral Grey'… the lyrics are like… why? but the melody is catchy.

i actually liked the synths parts, it's kinda what makes it sound like Waterparks, if that makes any sense. and i'm honestly surprised that the amount of effects on his voice doesn’t bother me as much as it normally would.

what i would like to know, however, is what do Otto and Geoff do in the band anymore? i mean, i guess he needs them to play the old stuff (and they’re friends.) and we all know Otto is the eye-candy. also, we need Geoff because he keeps Awsten sane on tour. but i was talking about music-wise.

🤡 How many Wips are you actively working on?

that's the right emoji for this question, i'll say. 🤡 it sort of depends on how we define "actively working on", but i would estimate that there are seven-ish that i've rotated in my mind (or added words to) in an actually useful way over the past week or so. that's three for bad buddy (one that's essentially a group hangout, another extremely sugary pat/pran story, and an ink/pa thing that's very close to finished), two for starsky and hutch (both of which are essentially done but taking me an eternity), and two for h50 (one shorter fic that's going places, and the next flip-flop state of mind chapter).

🛠 Is there a scene or anything in the WIP you are struggling with right now?

yeAH. in traditional me fashion, in nearly all of the things mentioned above there's some level of connective tissue missing, but for one of those starsky & hutch fics it's especially egregious. the fic has been good to go for so long, except for one paragraph that doesn't want to materialize in a way that's not painfully clunky. 2024 might be the year that i need to relearn the hard way to just. elsa frozen voice let it goooo.

also... not counted in the wips above, but i've written yet another long stretch of dialogue that i think is very fun and deserves a chance to be something (a bad buddy something), but it's the sort of situation where that means i need to find a way to wrap enough words around the current already 1000+ words of pretty much only dialogue line after dialogue line (it doesn't even say who's saying what) to make it feel like a Real Story that Flows Well. which is often hard work, which i know, because i keep doing this to myself, and i also keep writing all kinds of dialogue while envisioning the characters just. just sitting! just sitting around a table! which is cute and makes sense but is horrible and awful because how many fresh and inventive ways are there to describe people sitting around a table and talking, really. i'd consider posting it as dialogue-only, but unfortunately there are eight people in this scene, which is altogether too many to make that format work without additional help. ah, struggles.
