My personal AK!Riddler headcannons. Some of these play into my story so theyre biased, but I tried to keep those aspects out as much as I could.

Riddler has never had a seasoned/fully cooked meal. He mentions in the game he makes himself healthy meals, but the VA mentioned he probably doesnt eat much. The reason I think he doesnt properly cook his meals or seasons them is because hes so infacuated on Batman, he doesnt have time to be patient. He either completely undercooks his food, or overcooks it. On the rare occassion he cooks it correctly, its bland and tastes like nothing.

Firm believer hes petty and has thrown tantrums at the other Rogues. Hes extremely petty, so people dont mess with him much, but, when he throws tantrums he physically has to stop himself from looking like a fool. He only does it in front of Batman, but because hes projecting his fatherly issues on to him.

Riddler only lets people hes REALLY close to call him Eddie. He doesnt have friends but has goons?? So the closest to friendship would be Catwoman. He doesnt get upset when she calls him Eddie, which is his real name. Batman has to call him Nygma, Sir, Mr. Nygma. Could be because of his hinted relationship with her, who knows.

I believe that when Catwoman showed interest in Batman, Riddler did get really jealous. Its one thing to try to move on with another rogue, and another to date your arch nemesis. It was really a punch to his ego when he was pretty much replaced by Batman. The whole trial is about proving to Catwoman that Batman won't be there for her, so 👀👀. I don't really ship them, but its obvious theres something else going on between them.

Riddler definitely has Twitter, Instagram, or some other variation of that. Ever since his #CancelBatman thing, hes had to use bots to drown out the hate. Does he delete the website? Absolutely not. He needs to prove it doesn't get under his skin!

Due to Riddlers projections, I think riddler just wants his fake parental figure to play with him. Explain how a damn race car track is a riddle. Hes playing cars with his dad. Not that im infintizing him in any way- but- what other explanation is there for him to make a giant sewage racecar track without a riddle attached to it. Yes catwomans life is on the line, and theres other actual puzzles, so what the hell is this about?

I like to think that Riddler does have some admiration for the batman. He mentions to Batman that he should take care of his car more, so to some degree he admires the his tech.

Harley Quinn is the only one thats been able to beat Riddler at chess. No one else played with him, but after that he stopped wanting to prove his intellectual superiority among the Rogues. No one really cares about that except him and it keeps him up at night.

Scarecrow has a soft spot for him. Yes he still treats him like he would everyone else, but he just treats him slightly better than everyone else.

Riddler probably has a childhood hamster that died in a horrific way. He loves how hamsters look but hates the idea of owning one from how traumatizing it was. Not that he abused his hamster or anything, from what I've read they tend to die horrible ways for no reason.

I think he loves the little group of people that stan him, but finds them extreamely annoying. Yes, he enjoys the love and attention, but when fangirls 16 year olds claim to be his girlfriend, or grown women claim to be his wife? Not so much. He also doesnt like when his fans plan an attack and try to give Riddler credit for some minor idiotic plan. It hurts his reputation.

He hates being around large crowds of people. He hates being around stupid people, unless the attention is for him then he doesn't mind.

Probably knows the court of owls exists, but thinks theyre full of bologney.

Enjoys hot chocolate more than coffee, but this one was obvious.

He probably tried making a robot family at some point, with a mom robot, dad robot, and brother robot. It didnt work out

Workplace is a mess, but its his mess. He knows where everything is.

He hates the idea of being alone, but does nothing about it. He probably has cried himself to sleep, not only from Batmans trauma, but also his issues that he can't fix.

Lgbt supporter. Batman villains are queer coded, and has shown he has two lesbian henchmen, so I don't think he'd have a reason to be homophobic.

Disliked Joker the most out of the Rogues. Not only because of the spotlight hed get, but because he was rude to him a few times.

Asexual. Never been interested in sex, never will be, unless its for reproduction purposes, but even then he wont get into bed with anyone. He wants his genes to be passed down, but it would be with someone equally smart that fits his description of a perfect woman, but no icky stuff. He'll be a sperm donor but thats as far as it will get.

Not used to being physical. Hates being hugged, touched, or slightly bumped into. He doesnt seem to get much physical contact with anyone aside from metal and some occasional firm handshakes.

to add to that, his fight or flight mode activated once when Harley jumped on his back trying to surprise him. He gave her a black eye and immidiately appologized. joker was still alive.

has had girlfriends before, never liked any of them.

Riddler secretly calls Scarecrow his work best friend.

Doesn't do riddles during Rogues meetings because no one answers him.

The Tragic Saga of the Goncharov Tie-In Game (1995)

so since everyone has discovered goncharov i get to talk about a personal fascination of mine, which is the wild n wacky tale of the goncharov video game tie in. If youre thinking "what the hell are you talking about, there wasn't a video game tie in" theres a reason for that, bear with me

so the game came out sometime around 1995 (different sources place it at various points between 1994 and 1995), and it was one of the first properties to be licenced by sony for a console. It was originally planned to be a SNES-CD release until that console was cancelled, at which point it was ported to the playstation. if youre wondering why goncharov got a tie in like twenty years after the film released, that's kind of why it's so unheard of. sony was testing the waters with its new hardware to see if there was an older audience for gaming, and a few investors were willing to put some money behind the idea. it was actually pretty well-funded all things considered, with a budget of around $1.1m, and the gameplay was similar to that of goldeneye, which released a couple of years later. it was also fairly sophisticated, featuring branching decision trees and several different endings (I think 4? there isn't a lot of gameplay footage available, but there were at least 4)

unfortunately, development was plagued with problems from the get go. Despite its healthy budget, the studio couldn't convince any of the original cast to return to do voice work. Of course they couldn't, the film was two decades old -- you think harvey keitel was gonna bail on pulp fiction to appear in some experimental video game? of course not. so the dev team went for the next best thing: soundalikes.

the problem is, the soundalike VAs they hired weren't used to doing longform work. don't get me wrong, they did their darndest, but their experience was very much rooted in things like radio commercials and short voiceovers. they hadn't really had to act before. oh, and all but one of them hadn't seen the movie. the anecdote goes that they showed up on day one expecting a couple of days work tops, and much to their shock were handed several dozen pages of script (remember the decision trees? branching dialogue baby) and told they were employed for the next six months. Good for them, I think?

The voice acting really suffered from this. a lot of it feels very stilted, it ruins the immersion. yknow how in elder scrolls oblivion all the voice lines were recorded in alphabetical order? It sounds similar to that (altho personally i think the goncharov voice acting is a bit better lol). the directors and actors really struggled to pull everything together.

the result was that, while the game itself definitely wasn't bad, it was outright innovative in places, critics really couldn't get past the baffling performances, which they near-unanimously agreed made the game a slog. someone suggested the game should be played on mute with goncharov the film playing on a second tv, though went on to say that you wouldn't even finish the game then, because you'd just end up watching the far superior goncharov film instead. The game flopped, causing its global release to be cancelled, and was only ever distributed in the UK, Australia, and Japan.

the game had a brief stint as a cult classic, garnering a small online fandom in the early days on the internet. there is allegedly an italian fan translation out there somewhere, although a copy has never surfaced and it is considered lost media. a couple of people have come forward claiming to have worked on it -- they also claim to have met in the neopets forums of all places. i believe them -- and there are a couple of youtube videos showcasing what appears to be an italian fandub, but without the game files it's not possible to know whether theyre real or edited in post.

so now you know the story of goncharov the movie the game, my favourite game i've never played and probably never will. while it may well have been a missed opportunity, i like to think it paved the way for such classics as enter the matrix, and ratatouille the movie the game, and what would the world be like without them?

i have a mortal kombat oc in the works so heheheee get ready to see them!! soon... when im not dying in school once again (its the final stretch of my term and im screaming)

in case u do wanna know a bit, i have some cursory rambles below. but pls dont take every detail down here to heart yet since theyre tentative!! very likely gonna change along the way.

full name: Rhy'savyn "Rhys" Alunan.

in the 1st/2nd timelines tho, they're only known as rhy'savyn (rhys for short) and doesn't have a surname. this is because they're like, half-human, half-outworldian species. however, they never got to know their human father in the first two timelines. they've always wanted to, but smth smth unfortunately lost contact with him?? they have the displeasure of eventually learning that he passed away later on in their lore, and so they live in their respective realm in outworld.

however bc of their half-human nature, they're seen a bit as an outcast of their species (i actually created the species! they're called Silvarians, and visually they're like a combo btwn dryads and wood elves. so yah, nature-based powers and jazz like that. not on like the same scope of power as Cetrion but u get what i mean) due to having a lesser affinity to magic. their mother and some relatives/friends are like the only few people nice to them, but rhys had to work quite hard to earn even a nick of respect.

1st/2nd timelines, Rhys's kind is actually sorta... brinking extinction? not quite sure how to back it up quite yet but I can imagine Shao Kahn's usurping of the throne definitely worsens that scenario.

in Liu Kang's new era tho, he obviously says "nah that's not happening" and basically the Silvarians are thriving again!! woohoo!! we love a guy trying his damn best to give everyone a happy destiny. he also gives his timeline's version of Rhys connection to their Earthrealm side/family, ergo their father also doesn't die and they kinda both live and visit between Earth and Outworld. hence, this Rhys is more like. chill (lack of better word) and obviously is much more happier and energetic, yada yada. this is also where Rhys gains their surname.

they still have to deal with being treated somewhat differently for being half-human and having lesser magic affinity, but they're not straight-up outcast i can imagine. i have a hc that their mother was a victor in a prior tourny, hence ppl in Silvaria try not to fuckin mess with Rhys anyways. though, it still happens.

i'm still trying to decide Rhys's fighting style but i settled on their current ones in MK1 timeline being eskrima (philippines-based martial arts. also i do recall it was Quan Chi's fighting style throughout like 5 games) and kuntau. (chinese martial arts practiced in SE asia)

(icyww yes Rhys is filipino on their human side. voiceclaim would definitely be vanille velasquez aka Neon's VA from VALORANT. although Rhys has like, probably deeper of a voice.)

they also actually do archery, but i'd imagine that'd probably make up like a bare amt of their moveset (their bow can actually turn into the dual blades they use in their eskrima fighting style) and would probably be smth they show off more in an x-ray or fatal blow. or they likely do use different weapons in past timelines, but that i'll decide soon LMFAO

It was the stupidest bad faith discourse ever but they react to everyone like this all the time and CONSTANTLY pick fights with tumblr randos about the stupidest shit and act like they're the pinnacle of righteous moral anger and whoever theyre picking a fight with deserves to be told what a shit person they are and have the ode to how much they fuckinh suck be reblogged uncritically by their 2957374728574 followers and theyre literally just being a massive bad faith dick for no reason and pretending its really important social justice to dunk on some random person who is literally also very leftwing but has an opinion very slightly different to them in some completely inconsequential way. its also so fun when you play gbf and you add a character to your party because theyre useful and they are so good you genuinely start to care for them (zehek my beloved/ also fire yuisis is such a beast, she is literally insane) because they keep showing up on the frontlines and eagerly helping you out. they became blorbo because they worked for it.

oh TOTALLY and also MOOD FOR FIRE YUISIS!!!

she was one of my very early unit so originally she was in my fire team mostly out of "i don't have much else", but after seeing just how hard she was going about it, i ended up caring for her so much???? After that even though i started to get meta units i couldn't replace her for the longest time, i kept wanting to have her in my main line.

(i think i finally benched her only when i got the combo of Grand with Percival/Michael/Wilnas but i legit had her in my main fire team for years only due to that)

That's also how i ended up loving Nicholas!!! His dark unit was one of my very first unit, and originally he was just very useful because of his protection kit, but i remember especially that i was totally thrown out by the contrast of his unit's art VS his voice. Like he looked like the greatest edgelord of all time, and then he opens his mouth and he's the most cheerful guy you've ever heard. The guy carried me during my baby days bc he has a good kit, and eventually i read the Robomi saga only because i had grown to care about him so much that i needed to understand what was up with that. And then i ended up loving him even more! Even now while I have a lot more useful characters, sometimes with low stakes i bring him in the back just because. he's my bestie i want him to stay with me!!!

almost exact same thing happened with Gawain - his wind was one of my first unit, i knew he was linked to the kishi saga but in a weird way, and since he was a defense unit i was finding him rather useful. I got excited from playing him a lot and then he turned out to be a bitch in the FE, but i had grown to like him so much at this point that i couldn't go back and i've been a Gawain stan ever since (which served me SO WELL, i played the long game and the next year Savior of Dalmore came out and now everyone appreciates MY rude little meow meow!!!!)

also i bring those two up like that bc ironically both are voiced by the same VA so i definitely feel like this was a call out for me, bc i really did flag both of them as "big brother material" right away (esp after learning said VA voiced one of the character who has heavily impacted my childhood, on an anime i rarely watched in Japanese. I watched it recently in Japanese with a friend and i was like "ehehe look i love him, best-worst big brother of all t- wait why do i know his Japanese vo- WHAT THE FUCK.")

Altair also definitely counts in this category, he was the SSR i got from my SSR beginner ticket so he carried me early on, so i liked him soso much. Thanks to him i had a set up for "full team CA at first turn" before Relic Buster existed, and i was so proud of my set up. But now with RB he's basically obsolete.....

i'm sure there's more characters who would apply but those in particular really stood out to me bc i genuinely adore them so much and it really was first because of how useful they were.

onto the first event: Labyrinth Warriors! childe as well as xinyan will be part of the event story, so i’m excited! we can also get a free xinyan from the event. we will be entering the labyrinth, and we have to form two teams: attack and support. there are 5 levels and each level has multiple rooms.

second event: Shadow of the Ancients. it takes place on the new island, tsurumi island! it’s about a unique ruin grader which has regenerative powers and we will work together with a scholar from sumeru to figure out what’s happening! the event has different stages.

third event: Tuned to the World’s Sounds. the event involves kazuha!! he’ll be the one in the event story, but other characters will appear as well, such as ayaka, baal, xiao, zhongli, ningguang, kokomi and keqing! it’s the rhythm game from the windblume festival, and each of the above-mentioned characters has their own song we get to play! they also added a “hold” mechanic to the game, similar to other rhythm games!

fourth event: Dreams of Bloom! the event takes place in the teapot, and we’re planting special dreambloom flowers! players can help each other out during the event, and each seed can grow into a different colour. we get to choose between 3 different flower stands which we get to keep!

we also get another ley line overflow!

tea pot updates: we get a new layout, “silken courtyard” which is based on inazuma! it’s very pretty, the bridges are sakura blossoms- you can unlock it by levelling your sakura tree to level 40! we get new chests which involve blueprints, and so far they can be found on the new island. we will also get to place floating platforms! we can decide how high they will float and of course we can place things on there!

genshin impact has a collaboration with razer! a gaming chair, a mouse and a mouse pad!

rvb season 6 commentary track fun facts

season 6 commentary facts :) click here to check out the other commentaries i’ve recapped!

the voice over the speaker in the first episode is actually martha from trocadero

there were 72-80 characters on screen in the beginning of ep 1 and they had to film like 4 different games and glue them together n it took em forever

they said the counselor’s va being an improv guy fits him because like the counselor hes great with the uncomfortable silence

the mcrib is huge in japan. mcdonalds sponsored the commentary

gus and geoff like to get drunk and entertain people at conventions while burnie is forced to actually do the boring shit. very grimmons + church core

halo 3′s theater mode allowed them to do way better camera movements but also they had to do all of the headbobbing and then go into theater mode to set it up and see if the eyeline matched and if the headbobbiing will work with the camera movements. they basically had to film it without looking through the camera

which also made having to do retakes hell because theyd have to go back in the game and set everything up again

but we got nice sweeping long shots and good cinematography from it so it was worth it

reconstruction has a lot of different themes: reconstructing the bgc, reconstructing the alpha, and also the reconstruction of the world after halo 3 and the director and chairman squabbling for power after the war has ended

they took 6 months to play around with halo 3 when it came out before doing reconstruction and they were able to find out every exploit and possibility and familiarize themselves with the maps so they could write the story

for example when the meta calls sarge on a hologram they were able to do that because they figured out that dual-wielding the pistols and then lowering the weapons makes the characters arms stick out like that

the tex/shelia is one of their favorites because threading in the dramatic moments in both adds resonance/emotion to the story and makes the humorous moments mean more as a break from the drama. also kathleens voice acting is fucking good but we all knew that

shelia’s va is called first take yomary because shes the best

they used the mongoose’s headlights to light the scenes

wash’s worst throw ever of all time line was improved and shannon did a lot of that in general in order to keep wash from being boring

mark bellman is burnie’s brother in law meaning both theta and delta are voiced by church’s family (and elijah wood is possibly burnies long lost father)

they were anticipating the flamethrower as a weapon for years since it was cut from halo 1 and 2 and theyre stingy with using new weapons and then they wasted it on wash burning south’s body

donut’s va was having a baby during season 6 and said “I was too busy fucking to be in the show”

south and washes vas are improv partners oh my god thats so cute,

the meta’s character design uses different pieces from different armor sets which meant it took a week of playing halo to unlock the armor combos on all the different characters

they also cut the meta’s armor changing as he steals parts from different freelancers and even considered using after effects to make his limbs different colors, which would have been cool. however they said they were planning on having him change helmets so im glad they didn’t

fans could see the games on xbox live and predict what characters were going to be in what eps so they made fake donut and tucker accounts to trick people. they ended up taking them offline completely whiich caused about 20 different small annoying problems

they already had the plans for the AI that were going to be revealed in s10.

(they also intentionally based the different AI on different types of alters in DID systems and tried to say that theta is a little and omega is a persecutor)

the creepy we missed you delta line when the meta gets delta is theta speaking

at this point their idea was that carolina was dead and that having two AIs had killed her

they filmed the church shots by using two takes and overlaying the opacity of the church shot but then someone on the forums guessed that they used poor camo to do it and they were like “fuck thats a way better idea lets do that”

they talked a lot about maps but they didn’t say which scenes used which maps so i don’t fucking know what they were talking about what is standoff

burnie blasted through it but it sounds like they were planning the alpha reveal since s3

they cut references to tex because they wanted reconstruction to be a stand alone piece and didnt want to confuse people by talking about her if they hadn’t seen 1-5. there was a scene where wash told church that tex was the one who went to break out the alpha and that helped convince him to stay and fight the meta

i showed my friend season 6 to start. he was super confused anyways it doesn’t make sense to start there. this was a bad call and i’m mad

people really thought that with two episodes left they were going to go find tucker due to his cameo at the end of s6

its the penultimate episode and they’re still fucking talking about McRibs

they couldn’t remove the HUD in normal halo gamemode for shots that didn’t need camerawork and this made it take 3x as long as when they used halo 2

burnie added two lines to the director to emphasize that theyre not there and controlling remotely and then when joel watched it he instantly thought that the director was a robot and was mad they didn’t hype up the reveal enough

the emp shutting down the vehicles is just someone offscreen shooting the cars with a plasma pistol

no matter whats going down or what conspiracy is happening, the reds are just the reds. the sun could explode and theyll still be the reds

besides all the glitches and bugs, are the games any fun? are the stories any good if they are non canon stories? are the voices and designs good?

this should be a basic question, but its actually weirdly not when considering frogwares games (i should state i havent played all of them ftr so take this all with a grain of salt)

first off, you really cant forget the bugs and glitches- they can make the games either so frustrating that it doesnt matter if the rest of it is good, or they can make them legitimately unplayable. however, there is apparently a patch (released YEARS late! but whatever!) on the way to make the older games fully compatible with modern pcs! so, lets pretend you can actually ignore the errors;

the stories are... good. just good, i think- maybe pretty good sometimes- and certainly entertaining, which is all they need to be for a video game. they range from original to highly canon-influenced, depending on the game. (ive been avoiding one of them for its story but thats just because ive got Opinions on part of it)

cosmetically, like character, set, and voice design, it really depends what youre playing. the older games have very generic character and set design, and the voice work is completely understandable, but charmingly bad; like its kinda shit, but in a tolerable and funny way, and after a while you just get used to it and hardly notice. newer games have va work that's just completely unremarkable, if not a little awkward- you really wont take note of it, likely, which isn't a bad thing. newer game’s set design is actually very nice, i think, all things considered. not super remarkable but not at all bad to look at- they can even be beautiful, from time to time. character design in crime and punishment was good actually- it felt like hd versions of the older games, and that was just fine- however, it seems that after that things have/are going down hill, eh? not sure what the hell is up with devils daughter and... “sherry” and “jon,” but... technically thats all superficial. theyre not bad to look at after all, just... well.

in terms of game design quality (mechanics, options. blah blah), i really cant describe it. i think from the most general view, usually its fine, if not plain good; game’s puzzles and mysteries are not too hard imo, but also not uninteresting or downright simple (well, some are, but “some” is not a crime). exploration is functional and mostly interesting, and for the most part you are given clear direction when playing, so time wasting is minimal. certain mechanics (which are not present in all games, but showed up slowly as the studio seemed to be figuring out what exactly they could do) like deductions can and conclusions can be a lot of fun. i think if youre looking for something stellar you should curb your enthusiasm, but if you just want simple fun some of these game will actually really suck you in- i played crime and punishment for... some hours straight. specifics not necessary, just know it held my attention.

other aspects are just lazy; many of the games lack many otherwise standard game and setting manipulation options, like any video manipulation for some, difficult settings, etc. all do let you manipulate volume, though, and captions are always on (you also have a dialogue log to reference), so at least there's that. additionally, for some puzzles, for some of the games, they dont offer any instructions of any kind- i assume this is to pad difficulty curves, and to an extent you could argue that “well, real life wouldn't have instructions,” but its not real life. its a game. they should have added at least a toggleable blurb. theres other issues with the game’s construction at times, but honestly i cant think of them off the top of my head with any coherence. i dont leave much weight to steam reviews, but i think if you want a better understanding of whats wrong with some of these games id read the reviews or the discussion pages. overall, the default settings and the construction of the game should be playable for most people and on most machines- they're not particularly demanding or visually/auditorily complex games, and the puzzles are not too hard to figure out, even without instructions. (WARNING: there IS a glitch in crime and punishment that can effect some people that makes lighting fuck up on many objects, and it may not be friendly to more photosensitive people, though it also doesn't seem like something that would be downright dangerous, and as someone without any photosensitive issues i was not bothered by it.)

lastly, some of the games are dated, or jokes are in poor taste, or they present something or some attitude historically accurate, and their content shows this. it is not common or consuming, and you should be able to move past it with just a bitter taste in your mouth and nothing more, but its worth it to mention. its nothing someone used to consuming retro or janky media would be unfamiliar with, but i certainly didn't enjoy it- i cant imagine anyone sane would.

i am full of complaints. i have written goddamn dissertations to my long suffering friends. BUT..... i have had a lot of fun, honestly. ive got the patience to deal with the glitches, and the disposition to reap simple fun out of broken and awkward content, simple puzzles, and the story lines presented to me, however silly they may or may not be. i would recommend it, personally.

AHHHHHHHHHH THIS IS GOING TO GET SOOOO LONG!!!! i have a different view of the indo fam as a whole. i call them the indo fam but i mean the found family trope!!!! theyre like a group of college students sharing a dorm if that makes sense, since their servant selves are obviously different from their initial myths/human vessels!!!

OK SO. RECENTLY, i have an oomf that found books about arjuna that summarize his exploits in the mahabharata(I DONT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO READ IT ALL IM SO SORRY) and also talk about him in a more philosphical manner such as his states of mind during each event etc and i’ve been meaning to read said book because im genuinely interested in arjuna now!!! and i’d like to know more about this indo prince because from what i’ve seen, he is portrayed in a rather bad light(?) in FGO which i find extremely !!!!!!!!!!! and incrdibley !!!!!!! strange !!!!!!! the mahabharata’s conflicts can be put in a mostly grey area where there’s no good nor bad, its not black and white. so seeing arjuna get bashed because of the way his conflict with karna was written is... hm. let’s say that im REALLY starting to understand arjuna fans that dislike seeing him get mischaracterized so much. OTHER THAN THAT, his design is adorable, his travel outfit is my favourite because he deserves to relax and have some fun!!! fgo making him a chuuni is cute and his VAs little moans are cute cute cute!!!!!!!!!!! (mash grabs my shoulder and forces me to sit down) i think that arjuna deserves better and im really happy to see him have fun in his travel costume voicelines. i think we should take arjun on a date!!! he’s a great lover, we’d have the best time!! OH ALSO, kama seeing him as the student council president in their interlude makes me SOOOOOOO HAPPY its unreal, i think it fits him very very well, the seitokaichou who was elected because of everyone’s hopes and recommended by teachers because he’s suuuch a good student but because of that, the pressure to be good is constantly towering over his head and everytime he looks out the window he wishes he could ditch class and skip a day just because he felt like going to the arcade and be a bad student.......just this once........i think hes very very cute...... i want him to cook for me. HAVE YO U READ HIS BOND 4 VOICELINE ?mmmmmggg i want him to get embarrassed everytime i praise him for having such a muscular waistline. AUG

ANEWAYS i also have quite the thoughts about karna, his characterization in the game is linked to arjuna’s and thats fine but i think that forgetting how much of a little sassy bastard he can get was a mistake! did you know that in apocrypha’s german dub on netflix, when jeanne calls his name like “You’re Karna, aren’t you ? The son of the Indian Sun God !” HES LIKE “So ?” AND THAT WAS SOOOO BITCHY OF HIM, i think that karna is a good boy in fgo but the fact that he was such a fighty old man in the mahabharata shouldnt be forgotten and is a charm trait. I MEAN ???? HE THREW HANDS WITH AN 18 YEAR OLD(ARJUN) WHILE BEIN LIKE... THIRTY TWO. WHATS WITH THIS ANNOYING OLD MAN !!!!! knowing these little facts about him made me like him so much more actually !! i think karna being so nice is adorable!! but the little bitchy energy u can find in his voicelines is also very charming!! i think karna looking at me emotionless as i ask him to lend me his notes for the nth time that week and then saying “...Mn.” when i thank him is cute!!! his voiceline towards things he dislikes is interesting to me. karna seeming aloof and mean bc he doesnt know how to communicate but is actually nice underneath...... hey... thats a little delinquentcore........ i wouldnt say yankii but hes like... hes like... u know hes the handsome quiet one of the group of yankiis... u know the one...? hey where are you going

ganesha is also a character im deeply interested in but i havent played CCC so i dont know that many details about jinako herself !! my brain goes HMMMMMM it seems lord ganesha is trans in fgo ! (since kama used to be a male god originally as well!!) ganesha uses all pronouns!!! and ganesha is also special to me because they share similar traits with kama when it comes to their characterization AND mischaracterizations. ganesha isnt JUST jinako. theres a part of a god in the servant mix!!! and jinako HERSELF is actually a pretty sad character imo. the whole otaku/neet thing is obviously a facade and her true wish being that she wants to redo her whole life is also proof of how much she hates what shes become, yet at the same time, she doesnt know what else she could do. but anyways, i prefer looking at servants from a lore POV so i think that ganesha should still be considered a god and be adressed as such!! i like seeing people portray ganesha as jinako but i prefer it when a certain lavish more godly side of them is put forward. a side of jinako that managed to move on a little bit if that makes sense ? that got more serious. and became someone else entierly despite sharing similarities. needless to say their bond with karna makes me happy since he shows them respect as you should towards a god!! its a bit different from their bond in CCC... like they matured somewhat!! anyway ganesha is the one who taught everyone else in the indo fam about video games and technology and i will NEVER shut up.

miss lakshimi makes me very sad! because every female servant in the indo fam is an already known face. (... would sita count.) and lakshi being a jeanneface is a waste. well, she’s still very pretty and her lore is also quite interesting!! i havent looked into it fully yet but i think she should be kissed on the mouth. her bad luck makes me slip on a banana peel whenevr i get close to her to kiss her and i hit my head on the pavement and pass away-

parvati is on a tough spot for me atm. i genuinely love thinking of her as the way the indian goddess herself is portrayed because thats where the fun lies for me in her character. especially when shes involved with other indian servants, thats a given!! i would like to see parvati grow, suffer and heal. because branding her as an “all-knowing mom” is easy, but every single parent makes mistakes if you follow that logic. also, since shes the sakura servant “thats closest to her initial personality”, she’s got some of the most Repulsive fans ive Ever witnessed in fandom spaces and lets say that im trying to work my way out of this hellhole and find things to like about parvati without the fandom’s influence. needless to say, im going to keep looking into her mythos and her lore by myself at my own pace and keep doing my own thing in my little corner.

rama shouldve been a jock. THE RAMAYANA IS OLDER THAN THE MAHABHARATA, WHY IS.....Hrm well him being summoned as his baby version gives me hope for a future rama alt perhaps??? but i think that he shouldve been a total jock and he shouldve been huge with a huge red lion-like mane for his hair and a teethy grin and big biceps and intense love for his wife. SPEAKING OF SITA, her charm point is her purity but i wish.... that their artist still hadnt drawn them like That, im not a fan of lily servants and i think purity = being young is a bit of an annoying excuse!!! rama and sita looking similar is because of their shared history which is fine but... rolls my eyes............. rama shouldve been 6ft tall and sita shouldve been a milf to match...... anyways i doubt ravana would be added as a servant but i’d love to have a ramayana centric event!! where all indo servants have their own lore centric role to play!!! oh thatd be a dream.... but i have learned to not expect much from a fanservice game so im jus gonna draw my own stuff! Just finished season 10 of Ninjago. Its been good watching the show again. You get used to the change in animation quickly and while things like Kais hair and Lloyds voice are still off its mostly fine. Season 10 was short and simple but still felt good. It felt like a good sendoff to the “official” series. I know things ramp back up in the second half of 11 and onwards but the first episode (Wasted True Potential) is obviously calling back to the first episode of the show (minus the pilot episodes, which still count) Rise of the Snakes where theyre lazy and playing video games. I like it. Its easy and casual and a good shift from the ending of the final episode of 10. I know there are 5 more seasons but that ending sequence with Lloyd and the first master is a final episode of a show and season 11 on feels like a +More. New stuff keeping things fresh, but season 10 is the end to the full adventure from the story so far. I could totally be wrong though.

Speaking of season 11 you can tell in the very first scene this is by a new animator. Similar enough to the movies animations but their mouths move around their face! They arent always in one place anymore. And all the action lines when theyre going fast. Its a little wierd but it adds a cartoony lightness the show needs after the finale.

The last post i made on the show was midway through Season 8 and i gotta say that season felt the least like Ninjago. Maybe it was the new style and VAs and everything but it felt like it went against a lot of what the show had already done. Garmadon had his full arc. Evil, good, noble sacrifice. And then they just.. bring him back. The snakes are easy to find a million ways to bring back. Oh yeah, these guys are the spawn of the devourerer! Oh, Pythors back! Oh, this guy is using magic to turn himself into a snake! Its the same enemies and somehow still fresh. The season with the Djinn felt really cool because it was an original enemy with no ties to the serpentine. Bringing Garmadon back BuT oNlY tHe EvIl ParTs felt kind of cheap. Season 9 and 10 felt alright because of the introduction of the first realm and the dragon v oni and the hunters. And they got one last tornado of creation in which was nice. When i first saw it in the pilot i figured they would use it more often to be honest.

So yeah. In a few days ive caught up to season 11 already. Excited to see more content and catch up. I know they were still making it but i didnt know Seabound came out three days ago. Excited to see that so i can look at the tags and not be spoiled.

(also remember that one scene where Misako did spinjitsu in season 2 or 3? And then the show writers never brought it up again? And she wasnt part of the tornado of creation and never fought enemies and just kept getting kidnapped and held hostage even though she DID SPINJITSU RIGHT THERE THAT ONE TIME)

Idk if it counts bc there’s no character w this element yet but DENDRO IS THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE. I’m a pyro main, which means that I’m constantly on fire and taking dmg that way regardless, but the MOMENT dendro gets thrown into the mix, I start taking MASSIVE damage bc suddenly in addition to being on fire, I’m BURNING. The little dendro samachurls? I hate them. So much. Every time I see them (or honestly any samachurl) in a hilichurl camp I make a BEELINE for em to take em out first bc theyre SO ANNOYING. STOP INDIRECTLY SETTING MY CHARACTERS ON FIRE, I’M FLAMMABLE ENOUGH AS IS AAAAAAAAA

I’m assuming this one means Daily Commissions bc tbh I don’t really know what this q means by “mission” ALJSKMSS

Weirdly enough, I really like the “This Novel is Amazing!” commission even though it’s basically just a fetch quest?? I think it’s bc you can peek at the novel you’re delivering KAMWKSMSMSJS something about that commission in particular is weirdly heartwarming and I really like it uwu

Maybe it’s also bc it has an indirect connection to Xingqiu, who is one of my top favorite characters lmao

Bc I’m so accustomed to the way claymores work (the 4 slow strikes w a longer animation that you need to dash/jump to shorten on the last strike) a lotta times I’ll mess up my sword and polearm gameplay by dashing to animation cancel before my series of attacks are over OTL i’ve ended up losing out on a lotta the dmg I should be dishing out as a result and it SHOWS on my alt acc w Xiao 😔

I also like claymores bc they break ores easily and bc their hard hitting attacks mean you can stun lock enemies p easily as long as you’re good on the uptake! I like seeing the large dmg numbers uwu

OH idk if this counts bc this teeechnically isn’t really directly about the game itself/what happens in the game BUT I adore genshin’s va community! The english va’s are HILARIOUS and the chinese va’s are FEEDING us w all the lovely music content they’ve been putting out recently! In particular I really like Albedo’s english va Khoi Dao bc his twitter is just. ITS HILARIOUS AKJSKSJSKSKSS like does he realize that he’s an absolute comedian or??? Wksjsjwjjs I also live every day in fear of Childe’s english va... Griffin’s content is SO cursed and I am ✨Afraid✨

I have more to say about the cn va community bc I keep up w them a little more ALJSKSJAMKS I adore them so much and even though I can’t read very well, I go on bilibili JUST for them! In particular my favorite va’s are the ones for Venti (喵☆酱/“Miao Jiang”), Xiao/Chongyun (kin sen), Aether/Scaramouche (鹿喑kana/“Luyin kana”), and Paimon (多多poi/“Duoduo poi”)!

What are your opinions about Jungle cubs? I loved that show as a kid!

hi hello!! thank u for humoring me!! i love getting asks about the stuff im currently obsessed with that nobody really cares about, it makes me feel valid! also i dont have well constructed opinions, i just have a very messy, manic head so i just babble all my thoughts. for that i am sorry

im not gonna say jungle cubs is the best damn cartoon to hit the tv and maybe its just my own biased love speaking when i call it a good show but it means a lot to me personally. it brought me comfort as a little kid, i came back to it as a teen when i was feeling very alone and came back to it again as an adult just cuz of my recent love of baloo and talespin and needing something to keep me upbeat during the quarantine.

and ive watched quite a few cartoons i loved as a kid that i dont really vibe with anymore. i tried rewatching gummi bears. its not my thing. but jungle cubs is?? really good?? its just so charming to watch. i love the expressive animation, i love the smooth flowing dialogue, i love the playful and naive tone it has of just a bunch of kids being kids, i love the depiction of these characters, i love the performance of the voice actors, i love the layers it adds to the original film. layers that were never intended to be in there in the first place but isnt that just the beauty of interpretation and ones own imagination.

its such a formulaic concept isnt it. to take a classic show/movie and make its protagonists babies for a spinoff. but i dunno, i always got the feeling that whoever was the backbone of this story actually cared about the characters they were writing and took a sincere approach to it.

they thought in-depth about how to devolve them from their current personalities in a realistic way and what aspects of themselves are so core to their being that they would have been ingrained since childhood. the cubs feel pretty three-dimensional and considering theyre cash grab spinoff babies, that is an amazing feat.

but also, i love it for the very very very simple reason of its really adorable. bagheera especially. to see such a stoic and levelheaded character in his earliest stage as a child just Hits for me. cub bagheera is clever, hes cautious, hes a little stuck-up, all traits he has in the movie. hes also not the best hunter, doesnt know how to roar yet, is a little cowardly, sorta awkward at times and is often trying to prove that hes the best even though hes aware that he is nowhere near the best.

like its easy to believe the kind of person he grows up to be but at the same time, its really interesting to see the more childish aspects of himself that he eventually matured past. and hes adorable dude! baby bagheera voiced by EG Daily is the sweetest goddamn thing, i love him so much

also shere khan who is a fuckin doozy. hes very interesting in this too. everything about his attitude is reminiscent of a preteen who says mean things to you on voice chat while playing overwatch but if you tell him you’re gonna call the police on him, he starts panicking. thats shere khan’s vibe, a real edgy little tiger who thinks hes hot shit cuz he probably caught something bigger than a mouse like one time and its gone to his head.

hes constantly stalking around, subtly bragging about what a natural predator he is. but at the same time, he’s still around?? hes still hanging around with the other cubs cuz hes ALSO a cub and likes to play around with other kids his age. and he fucking loves his friends. the amount of times he’s scared off bigger animals who were about to harm them. and its really sweet cuz they like him too. while his attitude is definitely annoying sometimes, they still consider him their friend and enjoy his company. its just wholesome.

plus hes also pretty vulnerable as hes a cub. he doesnt stand a chance when they come across a grown animal as a threat. he gets scared just like the rest of them, hes just so arrogant that he never admits it.

in fact the appeal of the show in general to me, is the vulnerabilities of all the characters that comes with being in their most immature state. they dont know any better when it comes to stuff. this show is real dumbass hours

EVERYTHING about baloo is just great. he does not change even slightly. he is exactly the same except hes little and his voice hasnt broke yet. his child voice is amazingly fitting also.

i mean i guess one thing that differentiates him is adult baloo had some semblance of a philosophy. he was wise....in a way. baby baloo does not know shit about shit. he does not think. he just vibes, okay?? i love him mwah

i dont have much to say about the others but i DO like this interpretation of them more than their adult selves. it also just feels bittersweet that they grew up to be such dicks. Haithi is lovely, i love that hes just out here TRYING to be a colonel but he lacks the authority that comes with being a grown elephant and he doesnt have the self confidence to command anybody yet. he is simply babey.

louie is a very cute little dude, i love him and baloo as just an idiot squad. he also has a very good voice

kaa.....i dont trust. on one hand, hes very sweet as a child but on the OTHER HAND he grows up to be the creepiest fucking creation disney has ever put in a movie so that snake will always rub me the wrong way even when im trying to like him.

also ONE THING thats driving me crazy about this show is like. it has the best depiction of pre-adolescent boys that i have ever seen in a cartoon ever. just the way they behave. theyre sweethearts one minute, extremely mean the next minute, going from building eachother up to lightly bullying eachother, lots of unprovoked play fighting, laughing over dumb shit, rude to strangers for no goddamn reason, theres just a lot.

it fuckin knocked me back like 15 years cuz it reminded me so much of kids i used to play with. and these arent even human children whose brain development is documented, these are animals, this show had no business being this spot-on.

i dont like season 2. it has a few gems here and there that i get a kick out of. but as a whole, its really disappointing. since the show swapped production companies, they seemed to uproot it completely and start from scratch. and its kinda sad cuz i think they were TRYING to do something poignant when it came to a future narrative but it just didnt land. firstly there was a huge animation downgrade and looking at the two season in comparison is kinda depressing.

also they redesigned the characters, some looked worse than others. baloo looked fine but i still preferred his og look. bagheera....was the worst. rip bagheera.

they all underwent a huge personality change. and not in the way that showed subtle maturity, i mean a vapid exaggeration of their original personality. the only characters who were left relatively alone in this regard were baloo and kaa. and i dont mind gradually changing a character since there IS an adult version of them that they should be growing into. but the season 2 depictions are literally the furthest things from their adult selves that its unbelievable.

another pet peeve is they changed a few of the voice actors and.....i love these season 2 voice actors in other work theyve done. dee bradley baker and cree summer specifically who are both very talented people. but they did not fit these roles in the slightest. (not to mention having cree summer play an APE and suddenly having her do a LOT of monkey noises that the previous va never had to do. im not gonna get into all that BUT hmm.) and if youre gonna recast the characters to make them sound “older” as least make them sound somewhat similar to the jungle book actors, so you can picture them eventually growing into those voices.

also the tone shifted so much between seasons. the way they tried to make this jungle more of a “society” with shit like talent shows and sports games and celebrities and like fuckin. STOP. theyre animals. just let them be animals. along with that the writing just feels really off and its just. not fun. i dont like it

and as i mentioned, they WERE trying to do something here. the fact that the cubs didnt hang out with eachother as much and were starting to drift apart is kinda sad and wouldve liked it see it handled a little better. but instead i got season 2, which was stupid. and im 21 and im petty.

anyway i am very sorry that ended so negatively and im very sorry that rant was completely all over the place i have no sense of proper organization i just wanted to gush about what i love. but on a positive note i love jungle cubs!! its very dear to my heart and makes me very happy and i wish it had gotten more episodes

Democrats woo Bullock for Senate. They’re over Beto.

But even as party officials are desperate for Bullock to run, they’re taking a soft approach for fear going too hard would backfire. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said he hasn’t talked to Bullock or O’Rourke — a shift from his strategy with potential Georgia Senate candidate Stacey Abrams, who spurned his requests. Still, Democratic senators are publicly encouraging Bullock to join their club.

The different opinions toward the unsuccessful presidential candidates stem from the fact that Democrats are fairly comfortable with their current roster of Texas candidates. Yet in Montana, Bullock would be a game-changer: Without him in the race, GOP Sen. Steve Daines is the overwhelming favorite for reelection.

“I would hope that Steve Bullock reevaluates,” said Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), who is close to O’Rourke but has not lobbied him to run for the Texas seat. “If it was important enough to run for president … the most powerful thing [Bullock] could do to help the country and his state, I believe, would be to run for the U.S. Senate.”

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) is eager to explain what it’s like to be a former governor in the Senate, emphasizing the sway senators have over international affairs and what being in the clubby chamber of 100 is actually like compared with Bullock’s impression of it.

“Him running would turn it from a race where we would have a massive mountain to climb to a race where we would start at least 50-50 and maybe better. It would be transformative,” Kaine said.

Democrats have a fairly narrow path to retaking the majority, with three or four seats needed to win the Senate. Putting Texas and Montana in play would immediately reshape the map.

Texas Democrats have run polls, reported by the Dallas Morning News, showing O’Rourke is the most competitive against Cornyn and the favorite in the Democratic primary. O’Rourke told the Texas Tribune on Thursday night that nothing has changed and he’s not running.

But Democratic senators aren’t convinced O’Rourke can replicate the 2018 magic after his presidential fizzle, particularly given the baggage he accumulated from urging the seizure of assault weapons and taxing churches that oppose gay marriage.

“Steve would be great, I really do [think]. He’s connected well and didn’t hurt himself at all in the campaign,” said Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who won reelection last year in a conservative state. “Beto, I don’t know. … In a state that’s got a gun culture like my state’s gun culture, I don’t think he took a reasonable approach to that. It would hurt him in West Virginia.”

“It’s not clear to me that Beto is the strongest candidate anymore,” said one Senate Democrat familiar with the Senate races. “If we’re going to have a failed presidential candidate run for the Senate in Texas, what’s wrong with Julián [Castro?]”

Castro, who’s still running for president, has shown no interest in the Senate. But Democrats are pleased with current contenders and eight candidates have already filed, including state Sen. Royce West and activist Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez. MJ Hegar, a former fighter pilot who lost a competitive House race in 2018, will file to run Monday, according to her campaign. Amanda Edwards, a Houston City Council member, also plans to file in the coming days, according to an adviser. Hegar has thus far led in fundraising and is currently the likely favorite.

O’Rourke faces a Monday deadline for his decision and he would start from a tough position against Cornyn, a strong fundraiser without the bruises Cruz suffered from fights with his own party. Democrats have time to coax Bullock into the race: Montana has a March 9 filing deadline.

Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), who is close to Bullock, called it a “mistake” to pressure the governor now. But Tester acknowledged how important Bullock is to the party.

“He’s the best chance for us to pick that seat up. He’s got better popularity than anybody else in the state, Daines and myself included,” Tester said. “It’s sitting there. But it’s his call.”

There are plenty of examples of politicians changing their minds after repeatedly turning down runs for office. None is more salient than John Hickenlooper, the ex-Colorado governor who ran for president this year while insisting he was not “cut out” for the Senate.

Yet shortly after ending his presidential campaign and some personal reflection, Hickenlooper reversed himself and quickly earned an endorsement from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

“What I said to him was: ‘You’re the only person who can decide whether this is right for you.’ What I told him was the good, the bad and the ugly of serving in the Senate at this time,” said Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), another presidential contender who has so far not gained traction.

Given the recent history of politicians like Hickenlooper and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) changing their minds on Senate runs after their presidential dreams collapsed, Daines and Cornyn both said they are prepared for the possibility of a surprise but insisted their would-be opponents are weakened. Cornyn has even mentioned O’Rourke’s possible entry in his fundraising solicitations this week.

Despite his fundraising prowess, there’s bipartisan agreement that O’Rourke has made future runs for office much more difficult. But Republicans are still keeping an eye on Bullock. The Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC aligned with GOP leadership, has tracked all of Bullock’s shifts to the left, including endorsing an assault weapons ban and an impeachment inquiry. A race against Daines would be no cakewalk.

Ultimately persuading Bullock to seek the Senate may prove most difficult. He has young children and the frequent commute from Montana is brutal. He said bluntly earlier this year that President Barack Obama saw his kids more than Bullock would as senator. He’s said no countless times.

Several Democrats are already running in Montana, including Helena Mayor Wilmot Collins, Navy veteran John Mues and Cora Neumann, a public health expert who worked in the State Department.

Neumann said in an interview she spoke with Bullock before launching her campaign in October, and he “gave me his word he wasn’t going to run” for Senate. She said her profile, campaign organization and fundraising would “turn heads” and force people to take her seriously as a contender.

But the reality is until the Monday deadline in Texas and the March deadline in Montana comes and goes, some Democrats are going to be looking to land the big names.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) said he thought O’Rourke and Bullock would be strong candidates, but didn’t consider it helpful for senators to be “clamoring” for them.

“Ultimately, this has got to be about what the people of that state want and what he wants, not what we want,” Murphy said of Bullock. “He’s obviously our strongest candidate in that state. But I don’t think he cares what we think, and he shouldn’t care what we think.”
