I've been thinking for a while after reading Mika's character story about Capitano's eyes.. You know in lazzo trailer, we can't see anything on his face except just a black void. Meanwhile in Mika's character story, his eyes glows which intimidate everyone when there's a confrontation between the Fatui and Varka's expedition team.

idk why but i feel like Capitano can make his eyes blaze with intimidating aura at his will? 🤔 (also, the fact that he didn't do that in lazzo trailer really shows how respectful he is towards his fellow comrades even though a lot of them are always mocking and bad mouthing each other except Pierro lol 😂)

I really want Capitano so badly 😭🙏 why he is so cool and mysterious.. I really can't get enough of him 😔 I'm already at 210+ intertwined fate now and still saving (thank u Mi/Hoyoverse for that free IFs in adventurer's hand book 🛐), i really hope that when his banner finally arrived, i can get him to C6R5 🛐💞

That would be super cool! 🥺 I feel like he is a guy who avoids battle if possible, since he's respectful and all, so he just kinda. Intimidates others to back down. He's just a respectful guy in general, the first Harbinger probably can't be disrespectful to his comrades, all the npcs talk about his rep lol (I also think they didn't make his eyes blaze in the trailer because we'd never get over it. Are there any specific moments from IMBI (or any other fic of yours, really!) that you had in mind or knew what was going to happen very early on? Like, moments that already existed in your head and were just waiting for their time to arrive in the actual story?

Yes there were a few!

I think I've mentioned this before, but the scene in chapter 4 where Mikey is trying to convince the others that Leo is there and then Leo having to explain everything through sign language telephone is one of the first ideas I had for the fic, so I was basically waiting from the start to finally get to write it, haha. I also had the idea very early on for Raph and Donnie's fight in chapter 2, though it ended differently originally... but I always knew Raph was going to say something along the lines of, "You're talking about pulling the plug on my brother!"

I always wanted to make the joke about Leo yelling "ECHOOO!" in the Mystic Library because he can't get caught and also the joke where Raph got caught by the hush bats first this time.

Donnie smothering one of the elementals was also something I had planned early on, though again that scene originally had a different resolution because the fire elemental was going to do a heel-face turn. In the end I scrapped that subplot though because I felt like it just added some unnecessary plot threads and I couldn't quite make it work. So now they're just a scared lil guy (gender neutral) who never wants to see Donnie again, understandably.

I've also always had a good idea for what I think I want the final scene to be. It could still change between now and when I write it but we'll see. Probably not though because I've already hinted at it several times ^^ But we'll all just have to find out!

For my other fics...

When I first got the idea for Tapping Out I actually had the idea for the final scene (the +1) first and originally that was all I was going to write. But then I realized that stopping to explain what Leo was even doing that and why Donnie would be surprised by it just felt super clunky and then oops I turned it into a 5+1 fic just because I didn't like my two paragraphs of exposition LOL

Aaaand Sharing Ice Cream and Other Dad Things was actually the first idea I had for a Rise fic, even though I ended up taking awhile to write it after the idea for IMBI consumed my brain. But I really distinctly had the idea of Splinter asking Donnie to get ice cream with him and Donnie being so happy he spun him around and then later Donnie having a breakdown on the roof and I was like man I gotta write that eventually haha

Pitty party? 😭🥳

... I know its most likely the pms doing its thing and the rain's not helping but I just feel so sad today.

Like idk if my job is worth the hassle i barely make any money and I lose the clients if I up the prices and almost nobody working in social projects have the budget for design anyway and they're good projects so.

But Idk. And idk if im good at anything else like I dont remember being good at anything else I was ok as a waitress but that was like informal work 8 years ago. Idk what to do.

My computer's broken. Its been 4 months since i sent it to get fixed after it suddenly shut down and they're waiting for a chip to see if it would fix it or if we gotta replace a whole other thing, I mean we dont even know if it will get fixed. Im working on my mom's and my sister's laptops taking turns on them when the other one is needed. Im getting tired... And the money is not enough to get another desk pc obviously so I know if we cant fix my baby im gonna have to get a loan omg I hate loans im on (in? under?) debt as it is... But i cant keep doing this aaaaaa

And my room! The wall has some sort of leak in it from the roof we think but its the 3rd time theyre trying to fix it and as soon as there's a storm there's that fucking leak again. And so it has these ugly cracks on it and guess who said "I'll study how and fix it" over the pandemic lol 🙋🏾‍♀️👷🏾‍♀️ So that wall has been under works forever as you can imagine but also i cant touch the main leak yet bc like it wont dry properly until we find and stop the water from getting inside the wall and that is actually beyond me, like a wall and limewash-cement mix and stuff I can do but this is too much for me to go BobtheBuilder on like mmno. But is too much for the handymen too apparently bc it has never been fixed and its been what 3 years?

So in the meantime I'm sleeping downstairs in a sofa bed thats near the washing machine and its a small room and all my clothes are in boxes and I'm just... Tired! I wanna have a place to work and a place to sleep and a place for my socks and im like crying in my dad's bed bc mine is too cold and has no sunlight...

I want my room and my computer and my earnings from a job I'm good at, i think. Fuck this! I dont wanna be lile this anymore!

Maybe its not the pms yk... This sucks.

okay bestie i just gotta share this with someone cause my friend is being useless and deciding to no longer reply to me (right when i needed her help drafting a message too), but here's the situation: i'm in a two storey flat, and currently getting quite pissed off at the excessive thudding and banging one of my flatmates and his gf are causing by...well, banging. they're right above me so as you can imagine, it's very disruptive. to the point where my door actually rattles sometimes. i joked to my other flatmate that i was concerned about structural damage lol like that's how bad it is (and just before was the absolute worst). like there's only so much ignoring you can do, so after conferring with her on if it was the right move i decided to message him essentially asking to keep it down. i haven't bothered saying anything until now cause we're all moving out in about a month or so anyway. and now my anxiety is going through the roof waiting for him to read it and reply. this is one of the most awkward situations i've ever been in lol

Dissecting: Edens Zero Ch. 150-154

Rebecca vs Lyra

In this episode of Kakegurui...wait, my bad....In this card game with Rebecca and Lyra it's basically like strip poker but further than that...you'll lose body parts. Lyra's ether gear is manipulating cards so of course she would have the advantage in this game. But, Rebecca became smart like Yumeko and realized the truth on how to overcome the game by turning it against Lyra whilst revealing she's a cheater in front of a live studio audience.

Rebecca would possibly lose her legs if she didn't figure out the game was rigged (hence the world #? she leaped to). I was surprised to see Noah there...Like I said I still don't trust him. I feel he's an evil mf. Though, we do get a cute Shicca moment - I agree that grown-up Shiki was hot af. *_* Let's hope she doesn't reach that future or else she can't leap again.

Weisz vs Nasseh

We knew what the result would be for this fight. Obviously, if you're in anything or surrounded by anything that is made with technology, Weisz can fuck you up. And that's what he did with Nasseh. But, it seems like on this mission everyone is reaching overdrive. We got Homura, Weisz, who's next?!? Watch it be Jinn or Kleene LOL....👀👀👀

Lowkey digging Weisz' overdrive. I think I read somewhere that the design of his overdrive was censored a bit? Hope that doesn't happen in the anime but we shall see. I'm actually a little surprised that Oceans 6 doesn't use overdrive? They were kinda hyped up to be the best defense in the Aoi Cosmos but if they can't use overdrive then there's probably villains or minions much stronger than them in other cosmos. It would be cool to see some intense overdrive fights. I really like it when the fights are hard on the protagonists and they find a clever way to defeat them (if you know what I mean). I mean once in a while a protagonist can defeat a villain because they're born stronger or because they trained to become strong. Though, it does make me think about my theory with Shiki and Rebecca (as the main characters) - How far do their ether gear powers go? What happens if they push it to the limit? Will the result be Rebecca disintegrating in/with time or will Shiki's heart fall into the abyss from the weight of the gravity ether? Time will only tell and that time oracle Xiaomei will not reveal anything to us unfortunately...😩 But, she does give us hints...👀 (IYKYK)

Jinn + Kleene vs Callum + Lyra

Jinn and Kleene fly in to save the day. Though, that was a pretty quick entrance. Were they just chillin on the roof waiting? Wasn't Kleene fighting with Oasis? Since Kleene's ether gear is wind snatch, is she able to seal anything even Lyra's card explosions in her wind so it wouldn't damage her?

Looks like Callum and Jinn knew each other in the past. I wonder where Kleene was or what she was doing while Callum and Jinn were training at the Skymech Dojo? Did Jinn teach her how to use wind ether? Callum and Jinn/Kleene have similar last names...Steelford vs Rutherford. WE'RE ALL FORD'S HERE APPARENTLY!

BUT HOLY SHIT!!! Callum pulled an Acnologia and destroyed the left side of Jinn's torso. Ngl Callum's ether gear was confusing to understand at first cause I was like, "does he turn things to mist? If he touches you does an explosion follow after?" Though, I didn't get it when Callum left a handprint on Shiki's face? Was he disguised as fog in order to initiate the opening attack against Shiki...kinda like a...NINJA!! I guess that was to emphasize his ether gear. Honestly, his ether gear is still a little confusing...Is it carburetor? Is it mist? Is it fog?? Can he also use other Skymech elements like wind? Hmm questions, questions. Back to Callum using empire ether...How much of Jinn's body is human? Will this kill him? Is he able to survive? I don't want Jinn to die. 🥺

Outside the city walls was just as chaotic as usual. The massive crowd of WCKD's forgotten filled the streets. Jasper started shouting his new speech through the megaphone as the van we were all on slowly drove towards the blockade. Andy sat next to me on top the roof of the van. Both of us in our full riot gear. At this point in my stay here I'd gotten use to this attire and the usual speeches Jasper liked to give to hype up the inhabitants of this massive hovel. As we drove slowly down the sand covered road I spotted a familiar face in the crowd. My heart sped up as I looked straight at Thomas. The greenie from WCKD's maze. He was unknowingly staring right back at me. My full face mask kept my face hidden. As we drove past I saw Newt, Fry, and.. Gally.

"Holy shit" I whispered.

My heart thumped in my chest as my brain and thoughts were propelled back to the last time I had seen them. The last time I had seen Gally.

My heart shattered into a million pieces as I watched Gally turn his back on me. He followed Thomas and the others into the maze. Everything we had been. Everything we had told and promised each other was gone. It was like none of it meant a damn thing. Len patted my shoulder softly then started walking back to the homestead with the handful of boys that decided to stay. I continued to stand there staring into the maze. The group could no longer be seen. They turned the corner out of sight. Part of me hoped this was a bad dream or some horrid prank. Any second Gally would pop back around the corner looking at me with his big puppy dog eyes and his ridiculous eyebrows and say it was all just a bad joke. He'd say he loved me and he could never truly leave me.

As the minutes ticked by I knew I was kidding myself. He was gone and he wasn't coming back. He'd chosen his side. He'd chosen that idiot greenie over me. Over the person he'd spent the entire past three years with. A shudder ran down my spine as a griever shrieked from somewhere behind me.

"Shit" I gasped.

I turned back towards the homestead to see the boys looking around frantically.

"Get inside! Get in the homestead!" I shouted as I started to run towards them.

Each of the boys made it inside but as soon as I reached the door a pain like no other took over my body. I fell to the ground as my body convulsed. Every limb and nerve was set ablaze. Images flashed through my mind at lightening speed.

WCKD. Thomas. Teresa. Water. A test.

I screamed as I rolled onto my stomach. All the memories flooding my brain had me clawing at the grass to get back to my feet. I had to stop them. They'll never survive. I clenched my teeth together as I used all my might to stand.

"(Y/N)?" One of the boys questioned from behind me.

"She's been stung." Another boy said.

I growled from somewhere low in my throat as I took off running towards the maze. I have to stop them. I can't let them leave. They can't leave. He can't leave. I ran faster than I ever had before as the burning under my skin continued. I can't stop. I gotta keep going. Keep running. I don't know how I knew where to go but I made every turn without a second thought. I came to an area that seemed to be where the others had been. A single spear laid on the ground covered in blood. I stepped up to the concrete wall in front of me. There was no surprise in me when the wall lifted opening up a path. Two dead and squished grievers laid before me. I stepped over them without a thought. I could see the light of my exit. I knew I had to be close to them. I pushed open the door into a brightly lit hallway. I immediately turned to the right then started jogging.

I stopped in front of a door for only a moment. I knew this was it. I pushed it open. Only a few steps inside I found a few dead bodies. One of the ones closest to me had a small pistol in their hand. I picked it up then held it tightly in my hand at my side as my body started to shake. I slowly walked around the corner.

"Over here!" I heard Chuck's voice before I saw them.

A searing pain went up my neck. Stop them. I have to stop them.

"No!" I shouted as I stepped into view of them.

The whole group turned to face me. I kept my eyes trained on Thomas. This was his fault. All of this is his fault. He helped them put us here. He didn't deserve to be alive. He doesn't deserve to get out of here. I won't let him. Kill him. Kill Thomas. I shook my head trying to clear it. I can't kill him. I'm not a murderer. Kill him!

"We can't leave." I choked out as I fought my own thoughts.

"We did, (Y/N), we're out. We're free." Thomas said as he raised his hands slowly.

I faintly heard Gally's voice say my name. I twitched as another burning sensation took over my chest.

"Free?" I choked out as I tried to stretch my neck.

The burning was increasing as it moved slowly up my neck. Kill him.

"You think we're free out there? No. No, there's no escape from this place." I told him as hot tears stung my eyes.

Kill him. I shook my head again. No! I won't! Shoot him! Shoot him!

"(Y/N), listen to me, you're not thinking straight. You're not. Now, we can help you." Thomas spoke as he kept his arms raised.

Kill him. I shook my head.

"Just put down the gun." Thomas begged.

Kill him.

"I belong to the maze." I cried as I raised the gun pointing it straight at Thomas.

Kill him.

"Put down the gun." Thomas repeated.

Kill him now!

"We all do." I pulled the trigger.

Only a second later I was suddenly gasping for breath. What happened? I stumbled backwards as I looked down. A spear. There's a-

I dropped to my knees as I tried again to get air into my lungs. It didn't hurt. Not like it should have. The burning took over my entire body as I fell limply to the floor. My vision started to blur but I could make out the outline of someone running towards me. They dropped to their knees in front of me. They seemed to get close to my face. I couldn't tell if they were speaking to me or not. Everything had went quiet. All I could hear was my heart struggling to beat but it was still beating. Large rough hands grabbed each side of my face slightly lifting my head off the ground. The next second I felt soft, wet, and warm lips pressing against mine.

Gally.

I tried to will myself to speak. To kiss him back but I knew my body was no longer under my control. I was nothing but a disembarking passenger just waiting for the train to finally stop. I felt the hands leave my face in a quick jerk. The outline through my blurring vision looked like he was being dragged.

"Gal-" then everything went black.

I leaned over so I could whisper to Andy. He immediately leaned closer to me.

"New comers in town. They're immunes. I know them." I told him.

He pulled back most likely to look down at me through his mask. He nodded then hit his fist against the roof of the van. The vehicle stopped immediately. The both of us climbed down. Andy went to the driver to tell them what I had just said. When he came back to me he had two other men with him.

"Let's find them. Henry and the others will wait to grab them." Andy told me.

I nodded then started to walk with the slightly older man to find my old friends. It took a few minutes but I finally spotted Newt and Fry quickly followed by Gally. Jasper and Rick went around the mob of people to follow them. Andy and I kept our distance behind them the best we could. We had to keep shoving people out of our way which seemed to attract Newt's attention. I saw him nudge the others. Fry and Gally turned around. My heart skipped a beat when Gally looked right at me. He hasn't changed a bit.

We were only a few feet from them when they got to Thomas. The alarm sounded as warning for the guns. Andy and I stopped in our tracks.

"They're not seriously about to open fire." I said in disbelief.

A second later all hell broke loose. Bullets and explosives rained down as people ran in every direction. There was nothing we could do. Andy grabbed my shirt dragging me behind him. We ran as fast as we could back to the meeting spot for the vans. When we got there both vans were parked and waiting. To my surprise Thomas and the others ran straight into the small square. We didn't hesitate to start grabbing them. Andy grabbed Thomas throwing him into the van. I grabbed the back of Gally's shirt to guide him into the same van. Jasper tossed some girl in then all three of us climbed inside closing the door behind us.

The drive was quicker than usual back to base. It was unusual for us to pick people up like this but the others knew if they were inmunes we needed to save them. When we pulled into the run down building I jumped out first as Andy and Jasper ordered our three captives out of the van. I moved to stand a few feet away as I watched them find their feet. The other van pulled in then Alex was thrown from the back only to have some man jump on top of him. He punched Alex as he screamed for some girl. The girl we had taken ran over to him with her arms raised. The man was fine the next second.

"Everybody relax! We’re on the same side here!” I shouted.

The whole group turned to look at me. The look on Thomas’ face as he pulled himself from Andy’s grasp could only be described as completely annoyed and pissed off.

“What do you mean the same side? Who the hell are you?” He asked me harshly.

I sighed as I let my gun fall to my side. I took in a deep breath then pulled off my mask. I turned to look straight at Thomas.

“Hey greenie” I said softly.

All the boys looked completely shocked and even a little terrified. My eyes moved to Gally who was looking at me like I was a real ghost. In his eyes I might have been. To me all I saw was my happiness in a person. I had never been the same since he left me in the maze but now I understand why he chose to leave. I couldn’t blame him. I couldn’t resent him. I still loved him. I always had. It’s always been Gally or no one.

“(Y/N)?” Thomas questioned in disbelief.

My eyes stayed on Gally like there was no one else in the world. I wanted to run to him. Tell him how much I missed him. Tell him that I love him. Tell him how stupid and sorry I am. Instead of a loving moment with Gally I was suddenly being lifted by the front of my shirt. Thomas held me tight as he held one fist back ready to strike. The fire in his eyes was being held back. I could see the hesitation. He wanted to hit me.

“Stop! Stop!” Newt yelled coming to stand next to Thomas.

Thomas panted as he glared at me.

“She killed Chuck.” He said through clenched teeth.

“I know. I remember. I was there too. I also remember she was stung and half out of her mind.” Newt told him.

Thomas glared at me even harder as a tick started in his jaw.

“Just calm down.” Newt said softly.

Thomas huffed but let me go. He stepped back running his hands through his hair. I took a moment to take in each of their faces. Fry and Newt looked stunned. Thomas looked pissed. Gally mostly confused but also stunned.

“How? How is this possible? We watched you die.” Newt said in bewilderment.

A sudden rage washed over me at his words.

“No, you left me to die.” I corrected harshly.

Gally softly said my name sucking all the anger right out of me. I turned to face him again. He visibly gulped then took a step towards me. That was all I needed. I ran straight to him as the overwhelming need to feel his arms around me consumed me. My body hit his with a thud. I wrapped my arms tightly around his neck as his arms wrapped around my waist.

“Gally” I whispered into his neck.

“Holy shit (Y/N). I never thought I’d see you again.” He said softly as his arms tightened around me.

I pulled back so I could look him in the eyes. I grabbed his face with both my hands.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I should have went with you. I was so stupid.” I cried.

He smiled softly down at me. My heart lifted at the sight.

“It’s okay (Y/N). None of that matters now. We have a second chance. I mean if you want it.” He said hesitantly.

My mind, body, and soul soared higher than ever before. I crashed my lips into his making him chuckle. He kissed me back with the same force. His soft warm lips felt like a dream. A dream I’d had so many times but never thought would come true. Yet here we are.

“Of course I want that. I’ve never stopped loving you.” I told him as I pressed my forehead against his.

“I never stopped loving you (Y/N).” He whispered.

You decided to take your lunch up to the roof of Stark Towers, where you worked, today. It was sunny and warm but breezy up so high. You liked to dare yourself to go as close to the edge as you could, keeping your balance on the railing and peeking over to the city below. However good an idea it seemed, dares have consequences.

You were holding your arms out for balance and walking slowly on the railing, laughing to yourself and sinking in the sun when a bird flew by you, taking you by surprise. With a scream you began to fall.

“This is how I die? Death by bird fright?”

You closed your eyes, still screaming, and braced for the inevitable impact of the hard concrete when you hit the streets below. But it never came. Instead of concrete, you felt a pair of strong arms scoop you up and you began to swing. You opened your eyes and saw a masked man, which made you scream even more.

“Hey hey, shh its alright I got you, I got you.” A surprisingly high voice said and you closed your eyes again. You landed on the pavement softly and he spoke again. “Are you okay?”

You realized he asked you a question and finally remembered how to use words. “Uh. Uh yeah. Thank you for saving me. I lost my balance.”

“No problem. Well. I gotta be going. Stay safe!” And with that, he swung away.

Two days later you were at work, working as Tony Starks assistant. Most of the time it was mundane things such as getting him coffee, handing him things, and sometimes because of your knowledge of science and technology, he would ask your opinion on some things. You were getting quite bored when a guy walked in. He seemed about your age, maybe a little younger, with wavy brown hair, brown puppy dog eyes, and a figure you couldn’t help but to stare at through his t shirt.

“Mr. Stark?” He asked with a hint of a squeak in his voice.

“What is it, kid? Friday, save this to my new projects.”

“I need help with something?”

“Alright well get to it, I don’t have all day.”

“Actually Mr. Stark,” you spoke up, “you don’t have anything until tomorrow at 11 AM.”

“Oh. Well anyway what is it, Peter?”

So his name was Peter.

“I had an idea for some modifications to my suit, but I needed your opinion on something. I hope you don’t mind.”

His voice sounded so familiar, but you couldn’t pinpoint where you knew it from.

“Sure let me see.”

Peter unzipped his backpack and pulled something out. As he spread it out on the table you almost spat the sip of coffee you had taken out.

“You’re Spider-Man!” You blurted.

“Yeah.” Peter said, almost blushing.

“You saved me the other day!”

“You saved my assistant?” Tony asked, clearly amused.

“I...I guess so. Were you the one that was scared by the bird?” Peter asked.

Now it was your turn to blush. “Yes that was me.”

“You know what?” Tony said. “I have way too much to work on right now to help you Pete, and I was going to have a nice romantic dinner with Pepper tonight. Why don’t I leave you two to work on it? I’m sure miss Y/L/N would be delighted to help you.” Tony started to leave the room and you could almost swear you saw him wink.

“Friday, play AC/DC.”

The weeks passed and you and Peter grew closer and closer. You spent the evenings and weekends working on his suit with him, making adjustments that would help him on missions and patrols. And as the suit became better, the two of you grew closer.

“Y/N?” He blurted out one day as you were working on a new web solution that would last for much longer.

“Yes?” You smiled.

“Do you want to be my girlfriend?”

“Oh Peter!”

“It’s fine if you don’t I get it…” he started, inching his way away from you slowly.

“Of course I do! I was only waiting for you to ask!”

His face immediately brightened.

“As much as I didn’t want to admit it, I’ve fallen for you, Peter Parker.” You said as you pulled him into a hug.

“Well that’s good.” He dipped you down. “Because I’ll catch you whenever you fall.”

Gotta Be Somebody

Pairing: Mason x Gemma McKenzie

Warning: None? Slightly angsty

Summary: All my detectives have a habit of singing to themselves and literally every time I listen to music now I always imagine scenarios it could play into. Taking place sometime after that scene from the book 3 demo.

Gemma sits surrounded by the books Nate loaned her, trying to learn all she can on the Supernatural. She rubs at the jagged scar on her neck, absorbing as much information as she could so next time she was prepared. Better. With the new threat looming, she needs to know she won’t be completely helpless.

Sure, she can hold her own in a fight and reads people well, but what use is that if she doesn’t understand what she’s fighting against? As much as they try, the Unit Bravo can’t always be around to protect her, he wont always be around. He’s made that perfectly clear. What if there’s another type of supernatural that can travel through mirrors, or hell, teleport?

She decides it’s time for a break around the three hour mark, when the words start blurring together and she finds herself reading the same paragraph over and over but still not comprehending what she’s reading. She bundles her red hair into a bun as she sits up, lightly groaning as her stiff limbs protest having been in the same position for nearly the entire three hours. She puts in her headphones, putting her playlist on shuffle with the sound on low while she tidies up, and like always, mumbles the lyrics.

This time I wonder what it feels like

To find the one in this life

But dreams just aren't enough

Grabbing the stack of books she’s already finished, she heads down the hall to return them. She begins to mumble quieter, not wanting to disturb the agents on the off chance any of them were asleep but still not able to just listen.

‘Cause nobody wants to be the last one there.

'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares.

Someone to love with my life in their hands.

There's gotta be somebody for me like that.

'Cause nobody wants to go it on their own

And everyone wants to know they're not alone.

Mason sits on the rooftop, fiddling with his unlit cigarette enjoying the peace and quiet. Well, almost quiet. With the detective there, he can never seem to find complete silence. He always hears her, always senses her. Like now, even though she’s obviously trying to keep her singing to a minimum he still hears her. He doesn’t know why she does it, but she’s always singing. He also doesn’t know when he stopped minding. But it doesn’t bother him, not anymore and not as much as it would if it were someone else. Huh.

You can't give up

Despite the singing getting louder, likely because she’s getting closer, he finds himself more at peace, everything around him dulling until all he hears is her. Her mumbling, her footsteps. Her heartbeat.

He’s heard her sing this before, in the car, around the warehouse, everywhere. She mixes it up a lot but this is one shes sing to a lot. Curious why, he begins to listen closer, focusing on the lyrics instead of her heartbeat.

‘Cause nobody wants to be the last one there.

And everyone wants to feel like someone cares.

Someone to love with my life in their hands.

There's gotta be somebody for me.

Yeah, me, he scoffs. His brow furrowed as a frown forms, confused by the intrusive thought. Confused on a lot of things. Nate’s knowing smiles every time he observes a moment between him and the detective, but never elaborating. Confused on the something else that lingers between them. Confused why he regrets the way their last conversation ended. Annoyingly confused on why he’s bothered that she’s here, at the warehouse, and avoiding him.

Clutching his cigarette and frowning deeper, he decides he’s done listening and hops off the roof, needing to put some more space between them, enough that he can’t hear her ridiculous songs anymore tonight. Groaning at himself and taking faster strides when he finds himself not wanting to get farther away, tensing and reaching for his lighter when everything else start slinking back in. Finally taking an inhale, he turns back, looking down at the ground as he walks back, the cigarette calming him enough.

The detective hears a thud as the song comes to an end, reaching for her phone to pause it and she looks around the hall. Seeing movement through the window, she moves closer to see what it was. Down below, with the help of the moonlight, she can just make out his figure. She watches him walk away and then start moving faster, her forehead crinkling with worry. unable to bring herself to look away.

She adjusts the stacks of books, propping them against one hip so she can stand more comfortably when he stops walking.

Her heart stops when he turns back, relieved that he’s looking down. She knows she should stop watching, especially with how their last conversation ended, and just continue down the hall. But she can’t. She can’t ever seem to help herself when it comes to him.

She’s about to walk away after a few moments, but freezes and chokes on a breath when he looks up. That undeniable thrill running through her body despite the hurt.

They lock eyes, both of them frozen in their tracks. Mason with his cigarette halfway to his mouth, Gemma midturn from the window.

He moves first, bringing the cigarette to his lips and inhaling but not breaking eye contact. As he exhales, she hurries away.

Waving the cloud of smoke out of his face, he frowns again to find she’s gone. Snuffing out the cigarette butt, he growls to himself as he stomps back towards the warehouse. Obviously walking away doesn’t help, but maybe a match against Adam will.

man so my situation i had before with the uninhabitable house is now even worse. someone in my housing group has dropped out of uni, meaning our choices are find someone else to live w us, or end our tenancy and find somewhere else. otherwise we've gotta pay a shitload more rent and it's already way too expensive for what it is. and everyone's decided they don't want this fuckin house (even tho they're supposedly gonna fix the roof and everything by the 15th - like 3 days before uni starts lol) so now we've gotta find someplace else to live. but.... there is nowhere. every house available to rent has a big fuckoff disclaimer saying "NO STUDENTS" and all the private uni accommodation is filled up and the uni's own campus halls have a waiting list of like 500 people already. im looking around for people renting out rooms but there's like nothing. im hoping when term starts you'll get people dropping out and whatnot so more places become available. but until then ive got like lectures and shit starting a week next wednesday. not a lot of time. and while i live close enough i could technically commute i can't fucking drive so. to get to a 9am i'd have to get on the train at 7am. so i'm gonna have to couchsurf a bit. my friend amelia on my course is lovely and has offered for me to crash at her place when i need to, but i hate to impose. i'll stay with my boyfriend some of my time but if i'm there too much the guys in his house will start to resent me bc they're weird and petty. so my situation is stressing me out rn, just wanted to vent

I hate New England and can't wait to move to LA. I agree that the people are kind of...what the fuck but other than that the job market is much more interesting and better suits my needs, and the environment is 200x better. I hate the cold and snow, and the amount of rain we've been getting lately is awful. Our humidity has also been through the roof the last 2 months and I'm over it. You just gotta' find a group of people who also moved to LA so they're more like you lol.
