random current wwe thoughts even though I don't watch the tv shows
I haven't been a real week to week WWE watcher since 2018 (when I moved out of my dad's for good), since then I've pretty much stuck to PPVs only (at my dad's), occasionally I'm interested enough to only look at one or two of the biggest storylines on YouTube the day after Raw or SD airs but not often. This is one of those times where I'm vaguely interested in the product and vaguely paying attention to the top of the card, so here goooessss
top five wrestlers or storylines I would say I am personally invested in or want to see succeed
BIANCA. BEL-AIR.
Rhea Ripley
The Rock
Cody Rhodes
Seth "Freakin'" Rollins
three scattershot thoughts on anything
I don't care how we got here I'm just hyped at Rock not only actually being back (part time) but him being a heel and reviving my all-time favorite Rock bit, telling the fans not to use his catchphrases. Any segment with The Rock from here on out is going to be gold and I'll probably watch all of them
i haven't seen 99% of it but let's go world champ iyo sky 👏👏 I guess she's going to drop it to bayley but holy shit at least she got an actual run I love that
i haven't cared this much about Seth Rollins since 2015

Who is your favorite AEW and/or WWE Wrestler?
Danhausen, easily. He re-ignited my love for cheesy gimmicks, he's incredibly funny, and I enjoy his out-of-ring content just as much as in-ring. I kind of feel the same for Abadon just because I'm a simp. For WWE it would probably be Seth, because he's a phenomenal actor as well as wrestler. He makes you believe the kayfabe without suspending disbelief. Or possibly Becky because she made me feel like even I could be a wrestler during The MAN Era. She made it badass to me in a way that no other female wrestler did, like her gimmick was tailored to exactly the wrestler I would pretend to be as a kid in my room.
For all time? Oof... apparently I was a HUGE Diesel fan as a little kid but I don't remember that, parents just dropped that bomb on me a few months ago. I loved Shawn and Triple H, Stone Cold and the Rock. Taker, of course. I was a HUGE wrestling fan from birth to 8ish but we moved to Germany when I was a kid so I kind of fell off as showings werent on TV for us anymore. Then I moved on until I left for college and started dating a person who re-introduced me. So then versus now are two different types of wrestling enjoyment. I watch AEW live now so I'm excited to be able to form my own opinions rather than having tumblr/twitter/my ex dictate them lmao

Aside from Punk, AJ and the 4HW, which wrestlers would you love to meet in real life?
Cesaro, of course. But I would probably pass out.
Triple H. I would probably pass out as well.
Kurt Angle. He is my favorite wrestler of all time.
Melina
Shawn Michaels
Bray Wyatt
Alexa Bliss. I need to tell her how more her battle against ED's inspires me to continue fighting against mine.
The New Day
Liv Morgan
John Cena
Sami Zayn
Britt Baker and Adam Cole
Kevin Owens
Queen Zelina Vega
And, of course, Seth freaking Rollins

“Chipped Tooth” - Timothy Thatcher x OFC
Title: Chipped Tooth
Theme: @12daysofchristmas Day 10 - Cookies/Baking/Gingerbread
Fandom/Character(s): WWE NXT/Timothy Thatcher x OFC
Warnings: None! Nothing but fluff here.
Word Count: 1,841
Notes: For the Thotchers! And me, because I’ve been toying with the idea of reviving my OG OFC, Hannah McMahon, and this was the perfect excuse. If you’re interested, The Shield fics I wrote back in the day featuring Hannah are still up on my (inactive) FanFiction page. For current fics, find my masterlist here.
Enjoy!

“Do you think four dozen is enough?”
Hannah put her hands on her hips as she anxiously surveyed the sweets strewn out over her kitchen island: two dozen peanut butter snowballs and two dozen gingerbread men. She’d decided to bake her favorite Christmas cookies for the NXT roster and crew as a small thank you for working two days before the holiday, and she’d thought four dozen would be more than enough. But now that she was done, it didn’t look like nearly enough.
“It’s enough,” Stephanie assured her. Naturally, Hannah had roped her sister and nieces into helping her bake and decorate the cookies. Her nieces had even made specific gingerbread men for specific wrestlers and made her promise she would give them to them. “I think the snowballs are just making it look like less than it is.”
Hannah frowned in contemplation. “True.” She crossed the kitchen and started pulling tupperware out of a cabinet. Now that she thought about it, she doubted the wrestlers would eat very many, anyway, what with how body conscious they all were, and they’d be working with a limited crew. Maybe four dozen would be more than enough.
“So who’d you do this for?” Stephanie suddenly asked.
“What?” Hannah gave her a perplexed look as she walked back over to the island. “It’s for the NXT roster and crew tomorrow, I told you that.”
But Stephanie shook her head. “No; I know you, Han. You don’t just do stuff like this.”
Her eyebrows arched. “Stuff like what? Nice stuff?”
“No,” Stephanie huffed and grabbed a tupperware container to fill with peanut butter snowballs. “Of course you do nice stuff, but you don’t just bake for the hell of it. You had someone in mind when you came up with this.”
Hannah faltered as she reached for a gingerbread man. “What?” she repeated.
“Come on, tell me. Who’re you trying to impress?”
A knowing smirk curled Stephanie’s lips. A blush tinged Hannah’s cheeks a warm shade of pink. She carried on carefully packing up the gingerbread men, hoping she didn’t notice.
But of course she noticed—she was her sister.
“Wade?” she guessed.
Hannah pursed her lips.
“Damian?”
“What?” she returned with a surprised laugh.
Stephanie shrugged. “I don’t know. He seems like someone you could be into.”
Hannah blinked. “No.”
“Well then who?”
She let out a short, annoyed sigh. Admittedly, Stephanie wasn’t wrong. There was someone she wanted to impress; and she knew Stephanie wouldn’t let it go until she fessed up.
“Tmm,” she muttered under her breath.
Stephanie’s brow furrowed. “Who?”
“Tim.”
“Tim?”
“Timothy Thatcher!” she blurted. Her entire face went red, and she pressed a lid onto the filled gingerbread container a little more forcefully than she needed to, avoiding Stephanie’s wide-eyed gaze. She just knew there was a smart-ass comment coming, probably about Tim’s teeth—
“Well, that’s not surprising.”
Hannah’s eyes snapped back up. “What?”
“It doesn’t surprise me that you’re into Timothy Thatcher,” Stephanie said. And then, after a second, “He looks like Jon.”
“Oh my God,” Hannah stopped what she was doing to fix her sister with a hard look. “Seriously? I dated Jon for all of three months seven years ago and you think I’m still not over him.” She nearly choked on the words as they came out of her mouth. Not because she wasn’t over Jon, but because the verbal realization that her time managing The Shield had been seven years ago made her feel, well, old.
“That’s not what I said,” Stephanie clarified, cutting into her thoughts. “I just mean Tim is your type. And besides… I know who you’re not over, and if Timothy Thatcher can help you move on from him, then by all means date him. Please.”
Hannah pursed her lips and continued packing up the rest of the gingerbread men. The last thing she wanted to hear right now was Stephanie’s commentary on her personal life. It was part of the reason she didn’t exactly look forward to the holidays—her sister and father always teamed up to nag her about when she would finally settle down and pop out a few kids. You’re not getting any younger, and all that. It was aggravating.
But, as much as Hannah didn’t want to admit it, it hit her a little harder this year. She’d turned thirty-five in the summer. Becky and Seth had just had their baby girl; Jon was going to be a dad. All her friends were building their lives outside wrestling, and she was still the same lonely workaholic she’d always been.
“I think they’ll appreciate the gesture,” Stephanie said, pulling her back to the present again. She could probably tell by the faraway look on her face that she’d been on the verge of being swallowed by her thoughts.
“I hope so,” Hannah anxiously returned. “I hope it doesn’t come off… I don’t know. Like too little a thank you for working two days before Christmas.”
“It won’t,” Stephanie assured. “Everyone down there knows how much you care about them and NXT.”
A smile pulled at Hannah’s lips. She did care about NXT, tremendously. She’d had a hand in signing nearly everyone who’d ever wrestled there; they felt like her extended family. She hoped she knew how much she cared about and appreciated them, especially these days.
But, mostly, she wanted to make Tim smile. Chipped tooth and all.
* * * * * * * * * *
As Hannah walked into the Performance Center the following evening, containers of homemade cookies in her arms, she couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. It seemed silly—everyone liked Christmas cookies. But she didn’t care if everyone liked them; she cared if Tim liked them. And Tim made her nervous.
He was just… different. Quiet, but well-spoken. Intelligent and thoughtful. He wasn’t flashy and he didn’t need to be because his grit spoke for itself. She liked that. Plus, Stephanie wasn’t wrong—he was her type. She didn’t like pretty boys; she liked men, a little rough around the edges, and Tim was exactly that. And his body… Hannah’s thoughts had a tendency to go to a less-than-professional place whenever she watched him wrestle. She wouldn’t mind being put in one of his submission holds—
“Okay, Hannah, calm the fuck down,” she muttered under her breath. “Now is not the time.”
She crossed into catering and made her way over to the food table. She figured she’d just set the cookies out and let everyone have at them. Oh, and she couldn’t forget to deliver the special gingerbread men to their recipients. Her nieces would kill her if—
“Hey, Hannah.”
She gave a yelp and whirled around, eyes wide and startled, and came face-to-face with Tim. Because of course it was Tim. Her face burned with embarrassment. Perfect. Just perfect.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” he apologized with a bit of an amused smirk. Hannah tried to ignore the explosion of butterflies in her stomach it caused.
“No, you’re fine,” she said with a shake of her head. “I didn’t realize anyone else was in here.”
“Well, that’s ‘cause there wasn’t. I came in right after you.”
“Oh.” She fiddled with her fingers, nervous. Did that mean he’d followed her into catering? Or had they just been headed to the same place at the same time?
“What d’you got there?”
He nodded at the tupperware. Hannah hesitated, legitimately forgetting for a second what she’d been doing. “Oh, I thought I’d make some of my favorite Christmas cookies for everyone,” she answered. “Just as a little thank you.”
His eyebrows arched. “You made them?”
Hannah bit her lip and nodded. Tim’s eyes seemed to light up, but she couldn’t be certain.
“What are they?”
“Um,” she glanced down at the containers, as if she needed a reminder of what was in them. “Gingerbread and peanut butter snowballs. Which are peanut butter balls dipped in white chocolate,” she explained—but then her brow furrowed with a sudden thought. “You aren’t allergic to peanuts, are you?”
She hadn’t considered that. Why hadn’t she considered that? But, thankfully, Tim shook his head.
“No, I’m not. I love peanut butter, actually.”
He grinned, and Hannah’s entire body went hot. She had to compose herself before she could respond “Oh. Well, great. Do you want one?”
She whirled around and picked up a snowball before he could say yes or no. The corners of his eyes crinkled with a smile as she handed it to him. Hannah inwardly grimaced; he probably didn’t want one and had only taken it to be polite. But when he bit into it, his eyes lit up—and there was no mistaking it that time.
“That’s really good,” he complimented, his mouth still half-full.
Hannah’s heart thumped. “Really?”
He nodded. “Yeah,” he confirmed as he popped the rest of the snowball in his mouth. “Don’t leave those around me, I’m trying to watch my girlish figure.”
A wide smile broke out over Hannah’s face. She didn’t know what to say. She couldn’t think. Her insides felt like mush.
“But… I have to try a gingerbread man now, too.”
He leaned over the table and grabbed a gingerbread man from the open container. Hannah watched, still half in a daze, as he brought it to his mouth; and then she realized he didn’t have a gingerbread man—he had a gingerbread woman.
“No, not that one!” she shouted in a panic.
Tim froze. “What’s wrong with it?”
Hannah’s entire face went beet red. “Nothing. But um, my niece made that one for Candice.” She pointed at the purple icing hair that decorated the gingerbread woman’s head. “See? It looks like her.”
Tim pulled the cookie away from his mouth so he could look at it. “Oh,” he realized. “It does. Close call; I almost bit off her head.”
Hannah’s stomach flipped at his smirk. “Sorry, I should have been paying attention.” She took gingerbread Candice from him and exchanged it for a regular gingerbread man. “Here—that’s a generic gingerbread man.”
He took the cookie from her outstretched hand. “I don’t know, I think it kinda looks like me,” he said. He pointed at the mouth; it was imperfect and shaky. “See? It’s got a weird tooth.”
If Hannah’s insides had been mush before, they were goo now. Warm, tingly goo. It had been a long time since someone had made her feel like that.
“Thanks for baking us cookies,” Tim said. He started to backpedal away from her, but before he turned around, he took a bite of the gingerbread cookie. He made a noise of satisfaction in his throat. “That’s good, too!”
Hannah bit back a grin. “I’m glad you like it.”
“It’s dangerous,” he returned with a smirk. “I’ll definitely be back for more.” And with that he disappeared out of catering.
Hannah wiped clammy palms on her jeans. She felt like she was floating. She’d wanted to impress Tim, and she’d done it.
Now she just needed to work up the courage to ask him out.

Part 1/??
"Sadie?"
At the sound of his voice, Sadie Gibbs looked up from her hands. "Hey," she said. Her smile was brief. "How'd you find me?"
Seth Rollins smiled and leaned against the wall across from her. She was practically hunched on a crate at the end of a quiet hallway, well out of sight of anyone. Entrusted with the secret of her surprise return, he'd immediately gone to the small room she was supposed to be hidden in until her surprise later. After finding it empty, he'd had an inkling that he would find her as far away from the pre-show action as possible while still in the building. Which he had. He doubted anyone knew the dead-end hallway existed save for the crew that had pushed the empty crates into it. "You always find the quietest spot to hide," he finally reminded her. "Welcome back."
This time her smile lingered a little longer. She pushed her hands into the pocket of the hoodie she wore. "Who told you I was here?"
"Hunter."
"Still his favorite, huh?" she teased.
"Eh." Seth shrugged. Hearing voices at the end of the corridor, he straightened, reaching for his phone so he could pretend to be in the middle a call if someone looked down.
She leaned forward slightly to peer around the taller crate beside her, then slipped back, patting the space next to her. "Come on, hide with me."
It was as though the past four months had been just one night. Shoving his phone into his pocket and climbed onto the crate next to her with a grunt, making sure to pull his feet out of view. "I feel like I'm playing hide-and-seek."
"Hopefully no one's seeking us," she whispered.
The voices faded and, aside from distant music playing and the clatter of equipment, they were left in relatively silence. He felt her sigh and let his head rest against the wall. "You okay?"
"Clean bill of health," she announced.
"Sadie," he sighed. "How—"
"I don't know how he is," she whispered.
"Drew? You haven't talked to him today?" he guessed. It would make sense. Between travel and sneaking in without being seen, not to mention managing to sneak around to meet with Hunter and Vince, he would be surprised if she'd had time to take a piss, much less call and check on her boyfriend. "You—"
"Yeah."
Her voice was flat. He tried to gauge her expression, but she still had the hood pulled over her head, blocking his view of her face. He could sense the storm of emotions, though, before her lips settled into a firm line. "I'm lost, Sadie Jo."
"It's nothing," she said briskly, pulling her phone from the pocket of the faded Demon Bálor hoodie she wore and checking the screen.
"You know, I wouldn't be so lost if you answered my calls once in a while," he muttered. Then, sighing, he slung his arm around her and drew her in. "But I understand why you didn't."
"I wasn't ready to talk to anyone." Her arm slipped around him and she squeezed when he did. "I even sent Hunter to voicemail."
"Ouch. And you still have a job?"
She chuckled. "Amazing, isn't it?"
"Guess you're still his favorite," he mocked.
"I missed you," she said after a moment.
He pressed his lips to the top of her head, smiling at the faint scent of fabric softener. "Missed you too."
He held her to him, sensing she needed the comfort of an unquestioning embrace. Even though he had questions. At least several dozen. Gently rubbing her shoulder, he frowned when he heard her give a sad sigh. "You wanna talk later?"
He had an inkling that she didn't. Not about what she had to know he wanted her to talk about. She was already beginning to nod, though. "Sure."
"Did you drive?" Frowning when she tensed, he grunted as she pulled away from him abruptly. "Sadie?"
She closed her eyes tightly and ducked her head. "I don't drive."
He almost asked why. Before he could form the question, though, he remembered, and pressed his lips together. His gaze dropped to her hands. The sleeves of the hoodie were pushed up and he could just see the faint scarring on the inside of her right wrist.
"I got an Uber from the airport."
"Okay. Hey," he said softly, drawing her into another hug. "It's okay."
"Is it?"
"It will be."
She exhaled sharply, tilting her head to look up at him. He suddenly noticed the fringe of bangs slanted across her forehead. "Yeah?"
"You can ride with me."
"Because that's such an upgrade from an Uber," she snorted.
It occurred to him that maybe she'd wanted to ride with someone else. Maybe she'd wanted to take another Uber. Maybe she'd already made plans. He nudged the hood back, wanting to see the change to her hair, and couldn't keep the surprise form registering on his face.
"They had to shave the side of my head for stitches," she murmured, self-consciously smoothing her hand over the short cut.
Seth inwardly winced in sympathy. She'd loved her hair. At least twice a week she mentioned having some treatment or other done to it to keep it thick and healthy and strong and soft. He could well remember it falling nearly to her waist in alluring waves. Now, though, it was shorn close on the sides, the top styled in a pixie cut, slightly longer in the front, where her bangs slanted over her forehead. "Where were the stitches?"
She pulled back the bangs and he saw a jagged scar just above her right eyebrow. It extended into her hair, and he traced the length with his fingers. "It was the GPS," she explained. "One of those ones that hangs on the windshield. Fifteen stitches. As soon as I got home from the hospital, I shaved the rest. And it was easy to take care of, with my arm in a cast and not being able to hold a brush and hair dryer at the same time—"
"It looks great," he promised. He hoped his voice sounded sincere. It was a shock, yes, but the shorter cut highlighted the features of her face. Funny, how he'd known her for over two years and had never noticed the slight cleft in her chin "It really does, Sadie."
"Thanks." She smoothed the bangs back into place to conceal the scar.
"And you'll ride with me?" he asked.
She gave a brief nod and pressed her face to his shoulder. "Okay."
He held her to him for a long while, finally sliding his feet off the crate and reaching with his other arm to give her a proper hug. Aware of her fingers curling in the front of his shirt, he continued to hold her, ignoring the buzzing of his phone when it began to vibrate.
"You should probably answer that," she mumbled, sniffling.
"In a minute." Fearing she was crying, he slid one hand up to cup the back of her head, sighing when she sniffled again. He murmured what he hoped were soothing words, questions doubling and tripling. And when she lifted her head, he quickly brushed a tear from her cheek. "Sadie… Is it that bad?"
"Worse," she admitted in a whisper.
"We'll talk later," he promised, kissing the top of her head one more time.
She nodded, drawing back slightly to fumble in her hoodie pockets. A slightly crumpled napkin appeared in her hand and she dabbed at her eyes. While she did so, Seth checked his phone and groaned.
"I gotta go. Need to film some backstage bits."
"Okay."
But he didn't move immediately. Instead, he drew her in for another hug, needing to know she would be okay before he left. When her sniffles faded, he pressed a kiss to the top of her head, then reluctantly released her and slid off the crate. "I'll find you later."
 ***
They hadn't forgotten her.
Seth knew she had worried about it. Even though they hadn't spoken while she'd been out, it was a common fear. Every night not in the ring was one more night that gave another wrestler the opportunity to shine. Every week at home was another week without your name mentioned. He knew because he'd witnessed so many others experience the same worries through his years in the business. Had experienced them himself. And when one avoided social media while they were out, as Sadie had, it was likely that interest in them would wane.
But the crowd hadn't forgotten her.
He knew her name had been in the dirt sheets in the past month. First when she had been spotted arriving at the Performance Center in Florida. The fans knew it was nearing time for her slated return. Signs with her name had been spotted in the crowds for two weeks. Not many, but enough to make it clear that some people wanted to see her return. And although there had been no further sightings, not even at a house show as was the norm, the rumors had swirled that her return was just around the corner.
At the first strains of her new entrance theme, the confusion was obvious. The lights in the arena dimmed, a lone spotlight shining on the stage as she stepped out. Seth could barely hear her theme over the reaction from the crowd. He couldn't help but smile as he watched her on the backstage monitor as she remained on the stage until the lights came back full force. He couldn't keep from appreciating the way the clothes she wore flattered her figure, either. He was used to her in jeans and a t-shirt, or sweats, or yoga pants. He'd never seen her in leggings, now he thought about it, and he decided she looked so much better in solid white than anyone he'd ever seen wear the color. Her white tank top was arranged so just a glimpse of skin showed at her abdomen, and he silently agreed with the men standing near him that she should wear leggings more often. The woman were oohing and ahhing over her new hair, and the guys were murmuring appreciatively over the rest of her.
She strode down the ramp with confidence, and she had made it three steps when Seth gathered that she was returning as a heel. It was in the way she held herself, the way she glanced to the fans on either side of the ramp. Her bubbly, girl-next-door persona of the past was gone. She had always bounded down the ramp, greeting fans with high fives and a sunny smile. When she reached the steps she paused, shoulders lifting and chest expanding as she breathed in deeply. Then, as the cheers continued, she skipped the steps and pulled herself onto the apron, circling the perimeter of the ring so she could demand a microphone. The fans still cheered, while Charlotte and Asuka, standing in the center of the ring, their confrontation interrupted, stared at her.
He watched while she finally stepped into the ring. While she stood, letting the crowd continue their happy reaction to her return. While she raised the microphone and announced, voice somehow sultry yet sweet at the same time, that she was back. He stayed to see what she said, and when she launched into a passionate speech about recovering from injuries and working her ass off to return in time for WrestleMania. And how she would be damned if she'd returned to sit backstage and watch Charlotte have another Mania moment. She had been on the cusp of winning the title hanging over Asuka's shoulder, and she refused to go to the back of the line and claw her way to the top again.
Seth knew what was coming. She would be given a match against Asuka, or Charlotte, or possibly a triple threat, and if she won, she would be added to the women's title match at Mania. A predictable outcome to her return. When the women began to bicker and argue he smiled again. The arguing dissolved into a brawl and, confident she had been given a match later in the night to prove her worthiness of being at Mania, he headed off to get ready for his match.
He had barely stepped into Gorilla when he heard the news. Sadie was having a gauntlet match the next week. She would face all the women on the Raw roster, with the possibility of surprises from NXT, ending with Charlotte. If she won, Charlotte would be giving up her spot at WrestleMania and stood in line to go for the title at the next pay-per-view. If she lost, she went back to the end of the proverbial line. Every one of the women he ran into while making his way to Gorilla was abuzz about the news. A women's gauntlet match was rare, and usually only involved a few competitors. Sadie's was practically historic. And there was already the whisper that it would be the main event of Raw.
He wanted to find her and discover for himself if she was up for the challenge. He didn't doubt her physically being ready. One had only to look at her in the skintight leggings and tank top to see she was in top physical condition. Her muscles were more defined. He made a mental note to ask about her workout while she was recovering.
But was she ready mentally?
It had been just over four months since she'd been in a ring. Four months out could do a lot to a person's psyche. He knew firsthand that the mental anguish over being sidelined was just as bad, if not worse, than the physical pain of injuries and recovery. When he had been out, he hadn't been able to even watch wrestling until the week before he'd returned. And Sadie, who'd he always thought of as more than obsessed with wrestling, had probably done the same.
He couldn't shake the ever-present worry over her. Even though she was back and obviously deemed ready to make her return, he knew something was wrong. The Sadie he knew was vibrant and cheerful and always looked for the silver lining. Sudden thunderstorm with torrential rain caused her to pull to the side of the highway to wait? Perfect opportunity to fine tune her driving playlist or play a round of twenty questions with whoever was riding with her. Flight delayed due to snow and stranded at the airport? Time to talk someone into a race around the terminal, or pull out one of the decks of cards she always carried with her for a game, or time to hit the airport giftshop and spend way too much money on a board game to pass the time. Even backstage while waiting around for her matches or promos or whatever, she always found something fun to do. Impromptu social media Q&A with her friends, or backstage crew, or even venue staff. Sneaking outside to greet fans. Yes, she did seek out somewhat quiet spots to center herself, but even then, she was happy.
That was it. Sadie was a happy person and now… Now she wasn't.
Bouncing in place to hype himself up for his entrance, he couldn't shake the feeling that she had left that wreck with more than her wrist broken.
 ***
As soon as she'd found her way to the locker room after her segment, Sadie had had the feeling the women had been talking about her. An eerie quiet had fallen when she'd entered, clutching the handle of her suitcase. It had lingered until she'd sat down on a bench and begun to untie her shoes. Then they had all begun to chatter in that way that made her know they'd been talking about her. Because all of a sudden everyone was chatting about eyeliner and 4th of July plans, even though the holiday was months away. When she'd slipped off her shoes, they'd all congregated around her with hugs, welcoming her back, asking how she was feeling, raving about her hair. She could tell by the looks they sent each other that they all wanted to ask that question but no one had the guts to voice it. She felt welcomed though, especially when Becky and Liv sat with her to discuss ideas for the gauntlet match the next week. After a few moments, the chatter was normal.
"You look so amazing with the short hair," Becky enthused, playfully tousling it after Sadie changed into jeans and a tank top. "I tried short hair ages ago but it makes my jaw look huge."
"Did Vince say anything about it?" Liv asked, crisscrossing her legs while beginning to braid her own hair.
"He said…" Sadie screwed up her face in thought as she recalled her meeting with Vince that afternoon. It had been the first time he'd laid eyes on her since the wreck, and after his warm hug and enthusiastic welcome back, he'd gruffly complained about her hair. "It's not a direct quote, but something like 'Goddammit, Sadie, why the hell didn't you tell anybody you kept it so short? Can't the hair and makeup girls do something with it? You fucking want it that way? Why? Long hair is better! Ah, fine, whatever, but I fucking hate it, goddammit!'"
Becky snorted on a laugh. "Not a direct quote?"
"You sound just like him," Liv laughed. "No one imitates him better than you, Sadie!"
"It's a gift," Sadie replied with a shrug, then glanced to Becky. "And it might be a direct quote. I'm sure there were a few more goddammits in there."
"I've never heard him say that," Liv announced, finishing her braid and taking the hair band Becky offered. "At least, not to me. I'm almost jealous."
"Just get Sadie to imitate him?" Becky suggested with a grin.
They all laughed, and Sadie glanced up from zipping her suitcase when she heard a knocking at the locker room's door. An instant later her phone chimed and she pulled it from her pocket to see Seth's text.
Ready to go whenever you are.
"I'm gone, y'all," she announced, smiling when she was dragged into a hug by Becky. "See you tomorrow."
"Breakfast," Becky insisted. "We need to catch up."
Sadie nodded as they parted, almost sighing with relief when she heard that Seth was at the door. She exchanged goodbyes and made promises to work out, have lunch, and chat with some of the girls the next day. Stepping out into the hall, she grunted when she nearly walked into Seth.
"C'mon," he murmured, reaching for her suitcase.
"Where's your stuff?"
"Already loaded." He walked beside her down the hallway, pulling her suitcase along behind him. "I pulled the car up to the door. There's a crowd around the lot."
"There's always a crowd," she couldn't help but point out.
"It's different this time," he muttered.
She shrugged, not wanting to get into a discussion about how the crowd was different. She wouldn't have to face the fans tonight. She would be able to put it off for a little longer. She hadn't had the nerve to check her social media after her segment. She didn't want to read what they thought of her, bouncing back as though nothing were wrong after months of complete silence on all fronts. A stupid thing to do, she supposed, steps slowing when she saw Stephanie and Hunter. She should have posted something. Discussed her recovery. Discussed her worries. Kept it purely kayfabe and assured everyone that she would be back to take her rightful place. But she'd been scared. She still was. Because she knew what the replies and comments would be.
How's Drew? Is he okay? What happened?
Sadie looked up when a gentle hand landed on her shoulder. Looking up at Stephanie, she drew in a deep breath when she tilted her head to one side and stepped away from Hunter and Seth. She followed because it was Stephanie, and moistened her lips, unsure what to expect.
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Stephanie asked softly.
Sadie blinked. Not quite what she had begun to thought the woman would say. Puzzled, she blurted, "Huh?"
"This." Stephanie gestured to the backstage area. Not as wild as it was during a show, but still busy. Crewmen loading equipment. Production staff darting around. Wrestlers chatting and laughing as they hung around.
It was an atmosphere she had craved during her long months out. One she prayed she would be able to get used to now she was back. Sadie glanced around, smiling faintly when Dolph waved at her. She returned the wave before focusing on Stephanie. "I kind of have to be."
"Yes," Stephanie allowed. "The storyline is set. But… You could have stayed out longer if you needed."
"I couldn't. I can only work out so much. I can only clean so often. I can only watch so much Tv." She fought the urge to cross her arms and settled for pushing her hands into the pockets of her hoodie. "This is my life, Stephanie."
"I know, honey." Stephanie's voice was warm with understanding. She glanced behind Sadie, who turned to see Seth and Hunter watching them.
Her stomach twisted when she saw the worry on the men's faces. "I had to come back," she said after turning back. "It's where my friends are. My family."
"No one knows about you and Drew," Stephanie said softly. "Hunter and I didn't even tell Dad. It's up to you when to let people know."
"It's none of their business," Sadie muttered with bitterness. It was one thing she couldn't get used to after becoming somewhat of a public figure. It was bizarre, people wanting to know everything about her life. The questions about her childhood and her food preferences. The overt questions about her relationships. And the internet's uncanny ability to determine she was sleeping with or dating someone just because they'd been spotted together.
"Everyone will find out eventually." Stephanie sighed. "Have you talked to him? At all?"
Sadie shook her head. "Not since…"
Not since the night she'd called Stephanie, sobbing. Not since she'd what she'd thought was real had shattered like an interrupted dream. Not since she'd sat in her car, unable to even get into the driver's seat, and watched Sheamus drive up to be with Drew. Not since she'd been unable to answer the Irishman's questions before he finally went inside. Not since she'd finally called a taxi and texted him that last time.
I'll get my things tomorrow while you're at the doctor. I'll leave my key.
Fifteen months reduced to impersonal words. She might have been the cleaner that came in once a week.
"Oh, Sadie." Stephanie pulled her into a hug. "Are you still at the extended stay?"
She nodded, biting back the urge to cry. "I'm moving into my new apartment this week."
"If something comes up, promise you'll take mine and Hunter's condo."
"You mean y'all's Florida sex dungeon?" Sadie shuddered dramatically. "Gross."
"We don't have sex in the guest room…"
"Yeah, but I wouldn't be able to fix my morning coffee without picturing what pornographic things y'all have done on the kitchen counter." She narrowed her eyes slightly when Stephanie grinned. "You totally had sex in the guest room, didn't you?"
Stephanie smiled sweetly.
"Disgusting."
"Anyway." Stephanie cleared her throat and straightened her shoulders. "At least promise you'll think about it."
"I'll think about it," Sadie intoned robotically.
"Will you at least come up for a visit soon? Dad's worried about you. He doesn't like that you've kept yourself shut off all this time."
Sadie's stomach twisted. "I know he is. But—"
"And the girls think you don't like them anymore."
Gutted with guilt, Sadie blinked rapidly to keep from tearing up. True, she hadn't made her usual trips to Connecticut to visit Stephanie, Hunter, and their daughters. But she had called often. There had been FaceTime sessions and countless texts. "You know I love them more than anything."
"I know, but they're kids. When they find out you were here tonight…" Stephanie winced.
"Ugh." Sadie could only imagine the scene. "Of course I'll come up for a visit. But you're not playing fair."
"Have I ever?"
"I have it on good authority that you were a sweet, loving child." Sadie pursed her lips. "Of course, that good authority was Shane…"
"Call me in the morning, okay? I'll get your flight arranged. You can stay with us."
"I will." As though she'd stay anywhere else when she was in Connecticut.
"I love you," Stephanie murmured, drawing her into another hug. This one was longer, tighter, and ended with a sigh. "Be safe."
"Love you, too," Sadie promised. Turning, she grunted when she nearly walked into Hunter. "See you later, H."
He placed a hand on her shoulder before she could slip away. "Is she coming up for a visit?"
"Next week," Stephanie announced.
"You guilted her with the girls, didn't you?"
"It worked, didn't it?"
"We can bring the kids to the house shows this weekend."
"They'd like that."
"She would too. Did she promise she's coming up?"
"She didn't have to."
"She's right here," Sadie blurted, scowling at the couple. "I hate when y'all do that."
Hunter chuckled and lightly tousled her hair before pulling her into a one-armed hug. "Go on, get out of here. Seth's waiting."
"Night, guys," she said, slipping away and rejoining Seth. "Sorry, Steph had to play mother hen."
Seth merely nodded and they continued walking to the exit. When they reached the door, he placed a gentle hand on her back. "Let's go."
The car was barely five steps from the door. Sadie could hear the fans, and when she stepped out into the pool of light just outside the door she held her breath, expecting to be spotted. But the car shielded her from their view and she climbed in with a sigh of relief. The windows were down and she knew from the cheers when Seth had been seen. She heard the trunk open and then close with a thump. She was buckling her seatbelt when he opened the drivers' door and got behind the wheel. The car was already running, cool air blasting from the vents, and she opened her mouth to speak when the GPS suddenly shrieked that they needed to drive the highlighted route.
And, for some reason, it made her laugh.
 ***
Sadie was surprised that Seth didn't turn on the music one they were on the highway. But, she reflected, picking through the bag of snacks she'd bought at the gas station to find her Cheetos, he wanted her to talk. That was the whole reason she was with him. Well, no, she was with him because they were friends. Kind of? Maybe? She didn't know if she could still call herself his friend after practically ignoring his existence for months. Sitting back with the bag in hand, she adjusted her seatbelt before opening the bag. She savored the aroma and was reaching for one when Seth's hand dove in. Gasping when he brought out a handful, she glared at him. "Seth!"
"What?" he asked, tone oozing with innocence. "We agreed to share the snacks."
"Doesn't mean you can take half the fucking bag at once, goddammit," she grumbled.
"I didn't take half the fucking bag at once." Although his words were garbled, mouth crammed full of Cheetos as it was, she understood him perfectly.
"A third of the bag, then." She popped one into her mouth and chewed thoughtfully, watching him struggle to get the rest from his hand into his mouth. Able to see several fall, she giggled when he cursed and began wiping his fingers on his jeans. "Serves you right."
"It's nice to hear you laughing again," he said after a moment.
Levity fading, she focused on chewing another Cheeto. "It hasn't been that long."
"Has been for me," he pointed out.
"I'm sorry I never called you back." He'd called at least two dozen times that first week after she'd been released from the hospital. And left half that many voicemails. Twice as many texts. Asking how she was. If she needed anything. Why she wasn't at home. Over the weeks the frequency had waned, ending with one text that had left her sobbing into her pillow and cursing her inability to talk to anyone connected with work.
When you're ready to talk to me, I'm here.
After that, he'd texted her sporadically. No questions. Just pictures of stupid signs in public places with horrible grammar or spelling. Pictures of his new puppy, Twisty. Then, the day after she'd gone to the Performance Center to begin training for her return, two words that had once again left her crying.
Miss you.
His hand came over, but instead of reaching for more Cheetos, he plucked the bag from her hand and laid it on the center console before taking her hand in his. Giving a gentle squeeze, he sighed. "Sadie…"
"You can start asking all those questions you have now," she said, looking down at their joined hands.
"Are you and Drew okay?"
She sucked in a breath. "We're not together anymore."
"What happened?"
"I don't—" Sadie cut off with a sigh. "Okay, I do know. Nothing was the same."
Seth gave her hand another squeeze.
"I didn't expect it to be. He was severely injured…" She closed her eyes briefly. "He had so many surgeries. I knew things would be different. But even before he came home… He didn't want to see me. At first I thought it was because he didn't want me to see him looking as he did, but…"
"But?" Seth prompted gently.
"I figured out that he was still mad at me."
"Still?"
"We were fighting that night."
"At the hospital?"
"The night of the wreck," she whispered.
"Fuck. I'm sorry."
"He wanted me to go Scotland with him for Christmas. I'd already made plans with my stepdad," she explained, allowing herself a moment of something akin to happiness at the thought of her stepfather. One of only a handful of people she'd kept in contact with while she was out of work. "He was… I don't know. It was my fault. I could have come up with a compromise. I see Arthur a lot. I'd only met his family twice, and only once since we'd begun dating. But I was being stubborn and I let the argument keep going. It got petty."
Seth's sigh was one of understanding.
"We both started criticizing things about each other." She swallowed anxiously, remembering words flung with venom. Petty words that had turned vicious. And when the argument had reached its peak, words that had changed everything. Inhaling slowly, she moistened her lips. "I didn't see the red light until it was too late. I was so angry and upset. We were yelling, and it was snowing hard, and when I tried to brake, I skidded. Then I felt something hit the back of the car and the car began to spin…"
Spinning. Screaming. A deafening crash that had echoed like a gunshot inside the car. The sickening crunch of metal. The airbag against her face as glass sprayed. The taste of blood.
The sight of her boyfriend, body twisted and bleeding. Silent. His hand reaching toward her.
"Sadie."
She jerked her head up. The car had stopped. Above the blood rushing in her ears she could hear the clicking of the hazard lights. She could feel his hand still clasping hers, their fingers twined, and slowly looked down to see she was clutching him so tightly her knuckles were white. "The policeman that responded asked if I was having trouble seeing because of the snow. They found spots of black ice near where I hit the brakes, and they chalked it up to the snow and the ice. I didn't tell them otherwise."
"Sadie, it wasn't—"
"It was my fault," she insisted. "I know it was. If I'd been paying attention—"
"You still could have hit that patch of ice and skidded across the intersection. You don't know that you'd have missed it."
"If it wasn't my fault, why do I feel so guilty?" she asked, hating the weakness in her voice.
"Because it was a horrible accident." He sighed. "And because, even though you were arguing when it happened, someone you love was hurt."
"He wasn't just hurt. Half his body was broken," she whispered. "Why, Seth? Why did his side of the car have to be the one that slammed into the light pole? Why did he have to be the one whose body was destroyed?"
"Would you prefer it had been someone else?"
"I wish it had been me."
"No. You don't."
"Yes, I fucking do! If it had been me, maybe I'd have—"
"Don't you dare fucking say it," he warned.
She reared back. "Seth—"
"You can't let the guilt eat at you. You can't," he stressed when she opened her mouth to argue. "The guilt is worse than the injuries you had. It's letting you not be happy that you survived. You both survived. Yes, half his body was broken. All the injuries he had are horrible. But he survived. That's the important thing. It doesn't matter if you were paying attention or if he had been driving or if you hadn't been arguing. It still could have happened. It could have been so much fucking worse than it was. That's why it's called an accident. Because it's horrific and it doesn't make sense. Beating yourself up isn't going to change the fact that it happened. Remember Finn's injury at SummerSlam?"
Surprised by the sudden question, she could only nod. She had been in NXT at the time, but she'd been backstage and had seen the immediate aftermath. The shock. The horror. The realization that the injury was bad. And she had seen the grief and remorse on Seth's face when he'd come, wide-eyed and pale, backstage. "That's different."
"No it's not."
"Yes it is," she insisted. "We all know when we step into the ring that an injury can happen. No matter how careful we are."
"That's exactly my point. We all know it can happen. Just like we all know that when we get into a car and go for a drive that a wreck can happen. A plan we board could crash." He leaned forward, giving her hand a gentle tug so she would look at him. "You think I didn't beat myself up over it? You think I didn't sit up every night for weeks going over that moment again and again, telling myself what I could have done differently? I fucking stopped his career right when he was being pushed to the fucking moon."
"It's different," she insisted. "Because he didn't blame you. Did he?"
"No, he didn't," Seth sighed. "But that didn't make it any easier."
"Drew blamed me." She felt Seth's hand tighten. Could feel the tension creep up his arm and through his body. She saw his jaw clench before he pressed his lips into a tight line.
"What?"
"He blamed me. He still does." She ducked her head, hoping to shield her sudden, hot tears from his gaze. "That's why we broke up."
"He blames you for the wreck?"
"He'd just been released from the hospital. He was in pain. So much pain. I did my best. I was mostly healed up by then. I did everything I could think of to make him comfortable. I was just so happy that he was gonna be okay, you know? I knew it would take a long time for him to heal but I knew that he could do it. And I was prepared to stay by his side. I was ready to take him to all his appointments and make sure he did his PT. I memorized the doctors' instructions about rest and hydration. How to clean his stitches. I asked a nurse at the hospital to show me how to help him bathe because he couldn't stand up to take a shower. And he refused to hire a nurse to come to the house to do it for him." She inhaled sharply, using her free hand to dash away the tears before they could fall. "The first few days people were in and out. Then suddenly it was just the two of us and I realized…"
"Realized what?" Seth whispered.
"That I wasn't wanted. He was so angry. I expected that. I've seen enough people recovering from injuries to know all the stages. But… The anger didn't go away. I know it takes time, and that's one reason I delayed my return. I didn't want to leave him while he was still so mad. And he was depressed. He didn't want to talk. Didn't want visitors. Then one day Hunter dropped by, and…" She groaned, recalling Hunter's weary expression when he'd come out of the bedroom after speaking to Drew. "Afterward, we got into a huge fight. He kept telling me to go back to work, that he didn't need me hanging over him. I was getting on his nerves. He could manage without me. I got mad and told him he could barely wipe his own ass without help, and that just made it worse."
Seth gave her hand a gentle squeeze. And waited.
"I know now that I should have walked away and given us both time to cool off. But I was so mad, because I was there to help him and he didn't want me. It got so bad, Seth."
"How bad did it get?" he whispered.
"Things were thrown," she admitted. Then, feeling him tense up, she hastened to explain. "Not at each other. He didn't hurt me."
At least, not physically. But the glass shattering against the wall had mirrored the splintering of her heart.
"Then he told me to fucking get out and never come back, that me babying him wouldn't make up for the wreck. Something snapped inside me and I left."
"To give him time to cool down?"
She shook her head. "For good. I went back the next day when he was at the doctor and got my stuff. I deleted his number from my phone before I left the house. I left my key. I-I left the ring he'd given me."
"Ring?"
"He proposed the day before the wreck." She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to force the memory away. But it reared above her attempts and filled her mind. She remembered the happiness she'd felt that day, even before his proposal. Laughter as they worked together in the kitchen, music blasting. Stopping to dance when their song had begun to play. The smell of paint as they finished their project. Turning from washing her hands to find him dropping to one knee. His voice, accent thicker than she could ever remember hearing it before. The words of Robert Burns.
"'Till a' the seas gang dry, my Dear, / And the rocks melt wi' the sun: / I will love thee still, my dear, / While the sands o' life shall run.'"
The brilliant diamond glinting when he slid the ring onto her finger had paled in comparison to the glittering in his eyes. The taste of tears and the sound of joyous laughter and the knowledge that she had found her forever.
She had worn the ring for less than twenty-four hours. Had slipped it into her pocket when they reached the venue for the house show, because they didn't want to announce it so soon. It was their little secret. They'd tell the world of their engagement after the New Year. But the girls had known something was up. She was giddy and glowing, and tentative plans had begun to form in her mind. Of an intimate wedding in his beloved Scotland, of dresses and flowers and cake and forever…
Plans that had disappeared when the rental car had spun out of control.
She hadn't touched the ring again until the morning she'd returned to the house to get her things. She had thought of leaving him a note but hadn't had any idea of what to write. Instead she had left her key and the ring on his nightstand, where he would be sure to find it when he returned from the doctor. And she had left, slamming the door on what was supposed to be her happily ever after.
"Can we go?" she whispered, using the sleeve of her hoodie to wipe her tears away.
Seth gave her hand a heartfelt squeeze. "Yeah, we can."

Orphan Requests
I have an inbox full of requests and I cannot answer them. So I am opening them up to any writer who has the inspiration to fulfill them! Writers, if you’d like to reply to this post that you’re taking a fic, I’ll make a note so the anon requesters can know where to look for their fics. Thank you guys for any and all help!
In order of longest sitting, with wrestlers requested in bold:
Hello!! I’m here to make yet another request if you don’t mind. I’m guessing I have a thing for short guys being dom af, because now I really need some dom!chad gable fic in my life. Can you write a fic where he’s really sweet but controlling? - requested by @khaleesikross
could you do a cena x male reader with it being cenas first time with a guy? and he’s really rough?
kevin owens x male reader where kevin lost a match and is angry backstage and just smutty smut?
Hi hope you are doing well; can you please do headcanons or a small fic of Lince dorado with a male medic s/o, like he gets injured and has to be put on painkillers n' s/o has to take of a very handsy lucha. You can make it as their already dating or just co-workers, whatever is easiest for you to do.😃 - requested by @vixxzial
[Completed] Hi! I love your writing about WWE! ❤ I saw that you have open requests. If it's not too much to ask, can you write two things about Ricochet? Dating with Ricochet would including / Sex with Ricochet would including / Thanks! ❤
Could you maybe do a request please? The Revival x Reader where maybe the reader is a female member of The Revival and they are currently fueling with The O.C. Maybe Gallows accidentally injures the reader during a match and the boys end up loosing it. They attack The O.C. And go and take care of their girl? Just a bunch of fluff and smut please if you can find somewhere for it, if not a bunch of sick fluff is fine! 😂🤗
I'm not sure if you'll take this request at the moment (which is totally fine and understandable) but whenever you get time, can you do a Finn Balor x Virgin Male Reader fic, where it's reader's first time (he bottoms for Finn) and Finn is just super sweet to the reader during the whole experience? ❤️❤️❤️ - requested by @issacloveswwe (Claimed by @neversatisfiedgirlfics) {Thanks, love!}
I know it might be a while, but could you possible do a real fluffy/smut fic of Drew Gulak and The Reader? Maybe the Reader is Drew’s valet and real life fiancé and they celebrate together after he wins the Cruiserweight Championship from Tony in the Triple threat between the two and Akira? 🤗❤️
[Completed] Hi is it alright if I request something really smutty as a FxF with Becky Lynch? If possible could you use my name Alexandra? - claimed by @lynchstan-516
this is probably a weird request, but -- I'd like to see some smut where the female reader is close friends with Seth and Becky, who are in an open relationship (but the reader doesn't know that they are, just that they're together.) Becky sees that the reader is stressing herself out on the road, and gives Seth his blessing to take care of her... ;) (Becky/reader content also encouraged!!) - claimed by @lynchstan-516
Hi! This is my first time requesting smut. I was wondering if you could do a Becky Lynch smut where she is sure that she is straight until one night when she shares a hotel room with Y/N. At first everything is platonic, but Becky starts to lose her cool as Y/N continues to tease her. Rough and kinky smut, please. 😉 I’ll leave the rest of the details up to you. Thank you ❤️ - claimed by @lynchstan-516
From prompt list one all for one story 40,42,44 with Luke Gallows please and thank u - requested by @braunstrowmangirl (We could never get down to which list they were talking about, so either ask them or pick your favorite prompt list?)
Can you please write something with dom Rhea, Shayna and Reader, please?
Hi love! Would you happen to write for Travis Banks? (NXT UK) I think I have a plot in mind but I just wanted to be sure!
Hi! May I ask you to write some Samoa Joe/Kevin Owen's smut? They don't have anything at all T_T
Oooo! Can I send in a request? I’m thinking with Either Dash Wilder, Noam Dar, or Jordan Devlin (I couldn’t choose I’m sorry! 😩) and a Female reader. Like a Love/Hate story where they’re always at each other’s throats but likes it’s also like ‘I can fuck with him/her but if anyone else does imma rip their heads off their shoulders’ because they secretly love them? and it’s just smutty and fluffy?
U was wondering if you could write some AOP smut and/or a threesome with an oc? That would be wonderful because I love them and I can't seem to find any. Thank you! - requested by @queenofdiamonds2019
Could you possibly do a Dash Wilder x Female!Reader? The reader is a women’s wrestler and The Revival’s manager as well as Dash’s longtime girlfriend. The both are cast members on Total Divas and maybe one day while out with some of the ladies filming she gets sick, this causing the other girls to have her take some pregnancy tests and maybe just a really cute fluffy thing where she announces to Dash that she’s gonna be a daddy and to Scott that he’s gonna be an uncle?
Can You Please Do A Drew Mcintyre X Male Reader.   Where Drew Is Really Rough(Degrading,Chocking Etc...)  And If You Could Can You Pls Do Daddy Kink - requested by @themangetrowdy
Could you do a smut where the reader is a WWE wrestler and Dean comes to cheer her on and the reader gets badly hurt but wins in the end and he patches her up in the locker room when the match is over and it ends in smut? This idea just came to me cause I love Supernatural and I love Sasha Banks.
Hi! Is there anyway you can write a Jordan Devlin x Female!Reader imagine?? Based off his World’s Collide Title won please? ❤️

Okay so question for you : how the idea of a polyamorous story came into your mind ? (I love these kind of story) Still for you : did you plan on writing a Reader (or OC whatever you prefer) X Roman Reign ? And same with Drew McIntyre ? Question for Seth from Welcome to Oblivion : how did you fall in love with Addy ? Question for Seth from Waking up in Vegas : you twat, why did you let Mera go ????
(I’m going to break these up by doing one Seth, then author questions, and then the other Seth)
WUIV Seth: (Scrubbing his hands over his face) Look, I’m an ass. I’m the biggest ass in the entire universe. I get that. And I was a selfish ass. Mera gave up so much so that I could follow my dream of being a pro wrestler and main eventing Wrestlemania. But when I got there--the fame and all that shit just went to my head. (leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees and sighing) I’d always had Mera. That was a given. And now... all these women were just throwing themselves at me. I got antsy, I guess. I loved--love--Mera so much, but it wasn’t enough to stop me being selfish. So... yeah... I didn’t let her go so much as shoved her away. And she left.
Q1: How did the idea of a polyamorous story come into your mind?
Me: Honestly, I’ve questioned before if I might be poly. I’m genuinely open to the idea of dating or being with more than one person at a time. And I think there aren’t enough stories that normalize poly relationships. Also, just in general, it’s really hard for me to pick my favorite Buck (but if I had to, Nick, all the way) or my favorite member of The Shield (that’s so hard... probably Ro). A poly story made it easy to not have to pick.
Q2: Do you plan on writing a Reader/OC x Drew McIntyre or Roman Reigns story?
Me: Here’s the thing. I have so many plot bunnies running around in my head. And I’m pretty sure that there’s a request that got lost in the chaos of the last few years that was an OC/Roman story. Am I open to them, absolutely. Hell, I think I have an OC x Elias story in a file somewhere. So the real answer is I would, but they aren’t currently on the plan. Mostly because I’ve not been watching WWE that much, so I’ve kinda fallen away from them. Plus, Ro’s been out with the twins.
WtO Seth: (looking thoroughly shocked) What? Me and Addy? Hell no. I get she’s with Ro and Dean--which was fucking weird to get used to at the beginning--but that doesn’t mean I’m into her. Not like that anyway. We’re friends. I’ve never met anyone who can put away coffee like me. She’s cool, but we’re just friends. That’s it.

"You'll be fine lass no worries I promise they're all excited to meet you I've talked about you a lot. Please come y/n you'll have a great time I know how much you love wrestling so here's your chance to meet some of them."
"I don't want to seem like that's the only reason I'm hanging out with you."
"You worry too much we all know I'm your favorite cousin now I'm not taking no for an answer I'll be there in five minutes I’m almost there so be ready."
"Alright, I'll be ready."
Deciding not to argue with her I hang up turning my attention to my suitcase I settle on a pair of (y/f/c) shorts and a black tee shirt. Sliding on a pair of sandals I grab my phone and hotel key knowing I would need it for when I came back.
Beck: What room are you in?
Y/n: 302 on the third floor.
Spraying on a little perfume and adding deodorant I check myself over in the mirror brushing my hair out a little. I was more than nervous to meet Becky's friends when I got the chance to come to LA for two weeks I jumped at the chance. When Becky found out she insisted I had to visit her and a bunch of her friends/coworkers at a get together she was throwing. We didn't see each other much with her traveling and myself working but the times we could meet up it was like we were never apart.
"Your favorite person is here open up."
Becky knocks on the door rushing over I pull it open nearly falling back as she throws herself at me in a tight hug.
"I've missed ya so much y/n you have no idea."
"I've missed you too Becks everyone back home told me to tell you, hello and your mum sent over a tin of your favorite sweets."
"Ahh can I have them?"
Nodding I walk over to my suitcase taking it out and handing it to her grinning as she excitedly opens the tin.
"Do you know how long it's been since I've had these forever I'll have to pace myself if I want them to last. Pack up all of your stuff up you're staying your two weeks with me."
"What?"
"When I found out you were in America for two weeks more specifically LA I went to Hunter and told him I was taking a week off. I don't get the chance to see you often enough we're going to have a blast and then your last week here you are going to experience the travel life of a wrestler. All of our house shows are within driving distance so you won't have to worry about flying on a plane."
"Have I told you that I love you?"
"At least twice a day every single day now lets get this packed and get you checked out Seth is waiting in the car."
Packing all of my things up and making sure that I haven't left anything behind we head to the front desk so I could check out. Putting my things in the back of her vehicle we get in the front music turned up and windows down.
"Hi, I'm Seth nice to finally meet you."
"Um hi, nice to uh meet you too."
"You have to give her a minute to get over her starstruck Seth you're one of her favorites."
"Becky!"
"What I'm not lyin."
Seth chuckles from behind the driver seat as he reaches a hand up between us I shake it with a smile.
"No need to be embarrassed I am honored."
"More like you enjoy having your ego inflated."
Laughing as he scoffs at her I feel myself relax if all of her friends were similar in their behavior like Seth I think I'd be fine. Chatting the whole way to Becky's I listen to Seth talk about the plans he has with a friend to open a wrestling academy while I explain about work.
"How old are you?"
"Twenty-seven."
"I can see the good genes run in the family you all look younger than you actually are."
"Thank you."
When we pull up I can't help but inwardly squeal in excitement I loved visiting Becky's house it was beautiful and always so welcoming. Grabbing one of my suitcases Seth grabs the other while Becky takes my hand pulling me to follow her.
"This will be your room while you're here."
"It's beautiful thank you so much."
Hugging her tightly for a few moments than pulling away I thank Seth for helping me bring my suitcases in.
"You're welcome so when does everyone get here?"
"I told them to show up at four I already have everything set up we'll just have to take out the food."
Walking down to the kitchen we grab the covered food and drinks setting them on the long table that is set near the patio covered with umbrellas.
"Doorbell yes come on y/n, Seth."
Taking both mine and Seth's hands we are dragged back inside by Becky speed walking to the front door.
"Sasha, Renee, Dean welcome this is my sweet cousin y/n."
"We've all been dying to meet you Becky has told us countless stories about the two of you."
Renee smiles pulling me into a hug followed by Sasha while Dean grins shaking my hand. I had to remember to breath it's not going to look good if I fangirl over him in front of everyone.
"It's nice to meet all of you to thanks for being okay with Becky inviting me to tag along."
"Are you kiddin doll? Like anyone could change Becky's mind when she has it set on something besides you're her family if she cares about you then you're probably a good egg."
Taking comfort in Dean's words we walk out to the patio Renee and Sasha asking everything they could possibly think of. More people soon arrive and each time Becky takes my hand giving it a squeeze before pulling me to meet her friends. Everyone is so relaxed and nice there are a few times I have to stop myself from screeching in excitement. When Roman walks in with Bayley and Auska I have to bite the inside of my cheek to keep from screaming. He was even better looking and sweeter in person I'm not sure how much more my heart can take.
"Is that everyone Becks?"
"No Finn, Karl, and Luke are supposed to be here I'll have to give them a call."
"Finn? Didn't you train with someone back home with that same name?"
"It's the same exact person I think you'll love him he's great."
Nodding my head I excuse myself to the bathroom while she makes the call I had heard of a Finn but hadn't been able to keep up with him much since he's been recovering from injury. Washing my hands I head back downstairs to join the party.
"Y/n come sit with us."
Bayley smiles patting a space in between her and Seth walking over I sit down listening to their stories recounting old matches, events, and parties.
"Becky throws some of the best get-togethers it's always a great time to unwind and just catch up on things that aren't wrestling."
"She threw pretty good ones back home one of the things I love about her is she's always willing to make those important to her comfortable and welcomed."
"Has she changed much from when she was last home."
"Yeah, but in a good way she's confident, not willing to let people walk all over her and she's gotten more determined to chase her dreams. There's a fire there that seems to get brighter every time I see or talk to her."
When I hear the bell I look over seeing Becky preoccupied excusing myself I walk to the door pulling it open.
"Hello."
"You must be y/n it's about time Becky got you over here I'm Karl, this is Luke and Finn is currently getting something out of the car."
"Nice to meet you too Becky is busy but everyone is on the patio."
Shaking hands I walk to the kitchen to get another bottle of water turning around I bump into someone dropping the bottle.
"I'm so sorry I didn't know there was anyone else in here are you okay?"
"I'm fine lass trust me ya couldn't knock me over I'm Finn by the way nice to meet you."
"Y/n it's nice to meet you as well."
Finn smiles grabbing my water from the floor handing it to me holding out the same hand that wasn't clutching a guitar.
"Pleasure is all mine I've heard a lot about you and seen hundreds of pictures courtesy of your cousin and let me say they definitely don't do you justice."
He grins pressing a kiss to the back of my hand I literally have to try not to swoon on the spot I was a sucker for simple sweet gestures.
"Finn? Have you seen, oh there you are y/n I wondered where ya had gone off too."
“You were busy so I answered the door I came to get a bottle of water and bumped into Finn."
"Well, I'm happy you two have finally met Finn we're all in the backyard so whenever you two are ready come join us."
Sending me a wink behind his shoulder Becky scurries off I had a feeling there was more to her words then she was letting on.
"Do you play?"
"A little bit yeah when I have the spare time."
"I would love to hear."
"Then it's your lucky day Becky asked me to bring it over so I could play a little after we eat."
"Great."
Grinning I walk out with Finn to the backyard his friends and coworkers greeting him everyone grabs a plate standing in a line to fill it with food.
 "Over here y/n."
Becky smiles pointing to a chair next to hear and angled towards Finn sitting down I chat with her about plans she wanted to do over the next few days. Smiling as the friends begin to banter and tease each other it felt good being surrounded by so much happiness.
"What do you do for a living y/n?"
"I work for a magazine company in London I moved there two years ago after I received my English and Journalism degree at university."
"Do you enjoy working there?"
"For the most part yeah it's great I kinda wanna stretch my wings out a bit tackle some of the journalism or something along those lines. Becky wants me to think about finding a job over here somewhere we were best friends growing up and it's hard being separated by different countries. Sure it would be hard still because she constantly travels but it would be a little easier ya know?"
"Yeah, I understand I have the same difficulties with not being able to see my family as often as I like. Did she ever talk to you about applying for a job working for WWE?"
"No, I don't think it's ever crossed her mind I'm not sure if I would even be qualified for it."
"Are ya kidding? It doesn't take that much I'll mention it to her later I'm sure she'll jump at it she can help you apply if you want then you could see her and everyone here as often as you like."
"That sounds too good to be true.”
"Trust me Becks will do everything in her power to convince Hunter to consider it and I can promise it won't be just because of Becky you get it. Hunter may tell her he'll look right away but he'll read over everything carefully speak with your current boss and if you're as talented as I imagine then it should be easy."
"Thank you so much."
"No worries at all love."
Finn winks throwing his things away I lean back in my seat letting the thought go through my mind. It would be wonderful to see Becky often and I wouldn't mind getting to see everyone here again the girls all practically stole my phone to put their numbers in it.
"Finn are you ready to play for us?"
"Sure thing."
Everyone gathers close as he picks the guitar up tuning it a little before looking at me.
"Any requests?"
"Oh um what can you play?"
"Quite a few songs."
"Play her Wildflowers by Tom Petty that was a favorite of ours growing up."
Becky smiles as I look at her with a grin before glancing back at Finn with a quick nod.
"Could you please?"
"Of course I'll give it my best shot."
We all clap as Finn's cheeks turn a slight red the rest of the evening is spent listening to music, the laughter of everyone and occasional more songs from Finn. The evening was better than I could have ever dreamed slowly everyone began leaving making Becky and I promise to come to one of the house shows so they could see me again. When all that is left is the two of us, Karl, Luke, and Finn we head inside once everything is cleaned up.
"We better get heading back to the hotel we have an early drive tomorrow."
Holding out a hand I have to hold in a yelp when I'm pulled into a group hug by Karl and Luke promising to see me again they head outside. Turning to Finn I see Becky made her escape standing in the kitchen humming.
"It was wonderful to meet you y/n I spoke to Becky about talking with Hunter and she nearly hugged the life out of me so prepare yourself."
"Thank you so much I'll be careful it was wonderful meeting you too."
"Could I maybe call you sometime this week coming up we have a show in LA at the end of the week. We could possibly get together for coffee or something?"
"I'd like that."
Smiling we exchange numbers than with a kiss pressed to my cheek Finn heads out the door closing it after they drive away I lean against it.
"Come on you we have a lot to talk about and that kiss to the cheek is one of them."
Becky smiles motioning me to follow her upstairs sitting in her room we spend the night reminiscing and chatting her promising to help me fill out an application later this week.
"You and Finn seemed to really hit it off."
"He's really sweet and I couldn't help falling in love with his guitar playing."
"Yeah, I could tell when I had to whisper your name five times before you heard me."
"Sorry about that."
I grin as I look around the room my phone goes off and I reach over taking it off her stand.
Finn🎸: The guys left it up to me to let you know we made it I'll message you in a few days about the coffee?
Me: Thanks for letting us now and sure sounds perfect.
Finn🎸: Great well sweet dreams y/n x
Me: Sweet dreams Finn x
Becky grins reading the messages between us before the two of us lay in her bed gossiping like school girls. My excitement for the next two weeks was high but I was just a tad little more excited to see Finn again for coffee.

Whole - 2/?
Rating: E
Pairing: Finn Balor/Seth Rollins
Summary: The person we know as Seth Rollins is actually a demon who currently shares a body with a 30 something emo warlock/professional wrestler named Tyler Black.
Authors Note: Okay, timeline wise the bulk of this chapter takes place the morning of Super Showdown...everything up until then is canon including Mox being in AEW
'Demonspeak'
Taglist: @the-beastslayers-queen @scream-qween @swifteforeverandalways @sethsevolution @finnsauroraborealis @deepdisireslonging @winged-time-criminal @moxley-unhinged

Then
'Are you quite certain this is what you desire, little one? To be soulbound to one such as I? It will change everything you are, everything you ever will be and you will never be solely Tyler Black ever again.'
"Yes, I have to be stronger, I am destined to be more then this" a 20 year old Tyler Black said confidently despite the tremor in the hand holding the glowing, bespelled tarot card.
'Then speak the binding words and crush your fate'
"I am thou, thou art I……." Tyler started to chant, sealing his future
Now
Tyler had been young when he'd sacrificed himself to Seth, and it wasn't an easy life having the spirit of a demon that had once been worshipped as a God inside of you, It'lp been a miracle he'd even survived the binding ritual, let alone been powerful enough to forcefully of I put Seth to sleep for 4 years.
Tyler was a very powerful warlock but even he shouldn't have been able to do the things he'd done, he thought to himself as he stretched his arms above his head, getting used to the feeling of his soul being fully bound to Seth's again.
'We are bigger then we were before' Seth says from inside him
"I had to make up for not having your strength to rely on" Tyler replies easily, staring in the mirror as he practiced switching back and forth between his human and fully demon forms and smirking each time the color leeched from his form and he glitched in and out of existence ever so slightly.
"I think I like our new look, we look much more intimidating" Seth said finally
"You'd better…It took a lot of hard work when I was hurt and after to get like this." Tyler replied, happy to not feel the crushing emptiness of being alone in his body anymore. It was something only Finn and Dean had ever understood. Once you became a host…and knew what it was like to truly never be alone, the loss of that wasn't an easy thing to manage.
'I….tried to heal us..why didn't you let me help?' Seth whispers inside their mind.
"I thought getting hurt was my punishment for the things we did" Tyler whispers back
"Oh little one…It was I that took things too far. I….wanted them back and yes I was fully prepared to end that man's life to do so, once Cena did as we demanded…I thought they cared about us as much as you did…and we were both fooled." Seth confesses.
"Roman used to say that you, and Moxie and Balor weren't capable of love…or regret." Tyler says
"Roman was raised with beliefs that directly contradict our very existence. I'm not surprised."
"I'm surprised he never tried to exorcise any of you... especially you and Moxie" Seth replied
"Mox is so well entrenched into Dean's soul that the separation would certainly kill him and most likely destroy Moxley as well, not only is Dean himself human, they've been soulbound since he was a very small child" Seth explained in more detail then he ever had before.
"And the rest of us?"
"Separating the two of us and Finn from the King without express consent would be practically impossible…not only did you both sacrifice yourselves willingly…you are botho powerful supernatural beings even without myself and the King augmenting those abilities with our own."
"There are still only 4 S class demons fully manifested in this dimension. Myself, The King, Moxley and Kane" Seth reminded him "and as much as I am loathe to admit it both King Balor and Kane are much more powerful then we are. Kane especially because he doesn'thave a human soul to contend with.
Just then, they heard he beeping sound signalling the door unlocking and they turned to see Finn walking in.
"Hey babe" the Irishman said walking up to him and tilting his head to the side said "Ah, I see you used your birthday gift."
Tyler smirked and let Seth take over "Thanks, Irish…Tyler probably would have never gotten to a place where he was willing to let me out again if it weren't for you and the King."
Tyler and Seth had always had a more contentious relationship then Finn and Balor, or even Dean and Mox.
Finn nodded "I'm glad I could help."
"Even though your a sneaky snake and didn't tell me that's what all the spell work we were doing was for" Tyler says with a smile.
"A surprise is a surprise." His lover replies kissing him
"Where is His Majesty?" Seth asked
"Still Sleeping to prepare for tonight." Finn says "He's ready for tonight but the middle east is not his favorite place...too much old energy"
"So what happens now?" Finn asked
"It's OUR turn to have fun" Tyler and Seth replied together
Later that night
"Seth Rollins has gone on a rampage with a steel chair to open up Super Showdown having laid waste to the Beast in the Bank after defeating Baron Corbin, thwarting his cash in for at least this night." Michael Cole screamed
"What did he do?" Roman growled, walking up to Balor
'He's whole, Slayer' The King replied, 'Our Mate is whole once more'

I know I shouldn’t comment on this and just let it go:
I look at the Seth Rollins/Jon Moxley comments sort of like this.  A line stands out to me “not everybody's equipped to handle the rigors of WWE and the schedule and how it affects you mentally and emotionally”.  After hearing Moxley’s comments on Talk is Jericho I feel like this statement is sort of accurate description of the situation.  Seth Rollins has made a decision that he is willing to navigate the backstage workplace of WWE, Jon Moxley made a decision that he was not.  What is perfectly acceptable for one man, may not be fine for another.  Mox was always pushed but never seen as a star, Rollins has always been seen as a star.  He would obviously have an easier time backstage because WWE would never let a star look stupid.  He might have to fight for better positions or promos but Mox had to get around Vince’s worst instincts.  The ringwork + the travel + WWE Creative may not add up to the same place for everyone.  Some people can just lower their heads and stick it out.  Some, like Mox, don’t re-sign.  Some walk out.  Seth Rollins is fine with the WWE system, just like I’m sure that many people are.  However, just as many, aren’t fine with it.  Seth and Mox have had two very different versions of the WWE ride and that made Seth miss the mark on Moxley’s comments.  He doesn’t get it, but WWE has built a system that would result in most people that are “serious” top talent would never truly understand it because the system they work under has never wronged them.  Moxley couldn’t handle working for WWE, it was to mentally taxing for him, but I see how that could be the case.  I can also see how Seth Rollins can handle it, he has had it easier yes, but others (like Zack Ryder) also seem happy within the WWE and he has been mistreated for years.  So it’s all about where your line is.
To me this is just a situation that neither of them would be able to see where the other is coming from.  These two love each other like brothers, brothers disagree and fight and say things they shouldn’t say but that doesn’t change the fact they are brothers.  I don’t think that either man are wrong for stating their opinion on the situation but I feel like Seth does owe Mox and apology (nothing public just a personal one).  I’m not even saying it was meant the way it was said but it is always better to say your sorry, even if the other person doesn’t care.  Seth has been on a crusade to try and defend the company he works for, a place he clearly cares a lot about and doesn’t want to see anyone bash it, and he has every right to defend the WWE as others have to bash it.  However, even if he didn’t mean it like the way it has been taken, his comments about Mox were a little overboard.  I’m not mad, I love them both.  Seth Rollins is my favorite wrestler in the world and I don’t think this should negatively affect him or follow him but I do feel like commenting on it is important because he probably shouldn’t have said it, at least not how he said it.
At the end of the day, this is between the two of them.  I’m sure this will all blow over and this probably isn’t even that big of an issue between the two but this is a situation that should be addressed between the two and I’m sure will be.
TL;DR: Seth was wrong but I’m not mad at him for having an opinion.  WWE’s system likely caused uppercard “main eventers” to not be able to see things the way of the lower card guys because they make it easier for them.  He should apologize to Moxley privately (he’s a private guy).  They need to work this out between the two of them if there is anything to work out.

What-If The Rock Never Came Back?
The WWE after the unfortunate retirement of superstar, and champion Edge, was a baron wasteland shallow on talent. Arguably, a worse roster than the first couple of years post-Hulk Hogan in the mid-1990’s. Where at least then creative was willing to take risks and search for new guys to be that top Babyface, WWE didn’t feel the need to do that and instead relied heavily on John Cena and Randy Orton, and called in favors whenever they felt it necessary.
Chris Jericho, Kevin Nash, Triple H, The Undertaker dragged out of retirement with mixed results. Though Jericho was successful, the company pushed their chips in the middle of the table for the pasty Irishmen Shaemus. A wrestler who makes Roman Reigns look awesome in comparison. To put it bluntly, Shaemus was disgusting.
This era seemed all too hapless. Alberto Del Rio, a decent heel, talented wrestler won the Royal Rumble and faced the champion Edge in the third match on the WrestleMania card. Before 2006, winning the rumble meant you would main event WrestleMania. But, like all things, corporate meddling ruins a perfectly good thing for no good reason. If Vince McMahon doesn’t believe Del Rio to be main event material, then put somebody else over at the event. Nobody overthinks and under-thinks likes the WWE.
If there’s one thing WWE did right it was how they told the three-year story of John Cena and his feud with returning superstar The Rock. Starting off at WrestleMania 27, Cena gunning for The Miz’ WWE Championship. Though creative did allow Rock to bury both Miz and Cena, it is an otherwise small blemish on a well told, large scale story.
Miz deserves credit for getting himself over. His name is stupid. He has a very punchable face. His brash, egotistical demeanor built him up to status of champion. His fame from the Reality TV show MTV’s The Real World: Back to New York shotgunned him to stardom. He started appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s show and for the first time in a while WWE had an organic star. Cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Randy Orton on a November 22nd episode of Raw after Orton defended against Wade Barrett.
Heading into ‘Mania, Miz was 133 days into what’ll end up as a 160 day title reign. Rock overseeing the festivities foreshadowed the larger tale in its beginning stages. The Miz retained twice that night. Once on a count-out, the other when Rock intervened and Rock Bottomed Cena from behind. The Miz left still the champion. But with Rock standing above his lifeless body after taking a devastating Spinebuster, followed by a People’s Elbow, the Miz’ push was effectively over as we transitioned wholly into the Rock-Cena feud.
Outside of The Miz, WWE didn’t really bulldoze anyone while building to their “Once in a lifetime” fantasy match. In fact, someone else rose to prominence during all of this. C.M Punk. The C.M stands for many things. Chick Magnet. Chicago Made. Punk dallied around in the second tier of WWE contending for the World Heavyweight Championship strap. Gaining wins over the likes of The Undertaker, Jeff and Matt Hardy, and Batista.
His intel gimmick was promoting his “Straight Edge” persona. Normally an Atheist, Punk portrayed himself as a cult leader absolving troublemakers of their sins. Wrapped around his fists is tape with big X’s on each hand. This is what club bouncers would do to underaged club attendants to notify bartenders not to drink. On his knuckles “Drug” and “Free” are tattooed. Punk lived this gimmick and cranked it up to 11.
Eventually, Punk’s gimmick ran out of steam and he was forced to go back to the drawing board. With his contract set to expire after 2011’s Money in the Bank, Punk was set to square up against champion Cena. In effort to juxtapose himself with the usually straight laced Cena, Punk decided to incorporate his real-life frustrations with WWE’s creative into a promo one night on Raw. Promising to take the belt with him out of the WWE showing no intentions of re-signing. Punk mentioned that Hulk Hogan, Rock, and Cena was good for was kissing Vince McMahon’s ass. He derided the fans for their superficiality. Harangued the McMahon Family for their stupidity. Punk wasn’t just an average run of the mill heel to be beaten. Punk portrayed himself as someone with a purpose.
How this was all packaged felt so unnatural fans actually believed Punk was leaving the WWE whether he won or lost. That even if he did win, he’d just leave as champion. With special guest referee Triple H watching, Punk defeated Cena (though Cena clearly had his foot on the ropes rendering the pin nullified, HHH didn’t see it) and absconded with the belt never to return...
Tumblr media
He’d be back in eight days.
The new champion was fan favorite Rey Mysterio. A 5-foot, 6 inch Mexican luchador. His only main title was his brief reign as World Heavyweight Champion years ago. Just as fast Rey rose to the top he found himself in the mid card. Still, after defeating a lukewarm The Miz in a meh match the crowd become unglued. Their masked hero was given the push he deserved. Though it wasn’t on the grandest of stages it didn’t matter.
In less than an hour Cena would take the belt back from Rey.
One word: Bastards.
Why act like you’re giving the fans something they desperately wanted only to take it away so fast? Having Rey as champion meant nothing. He didn’t even hold it for a week.
Anyways, Cena is champion only to again fall to Punk at a match for Summerslam. Within minutes, Money in the Bank winner Del Rio would cash-in his briefcase and win the belt for himself. Del Rio was in the tournament Mysterio won for Punk’s vacant belt. He lost to Kofi Kingston in the first round. I understand why you can’t have a heel vs heel match for the championship, but of all the people to get one over on the conniving Punk why does it have to be the uninspiring Del Rio?
This was basically done to get Cena out of the title picture so he could let Rock go over at ‘Mania. Why does Rock need to win at ‘Mania you ask? Because we need a reason to do this again the next year. Why do we need to this same match again next year? Because fuck you.
Punk entered WrestleMania the champ, winning the strap back from Del Rio at Survivor Series. Punk would go on to hold the belt for 442. A returning Chris Jericho came in second in the Royal Rumble and earned himself a title shot, losing by submission. This was the highest profile win for Punk during his long reign.
Punk’s title reign came to an end at the hands of The Rock at the Royal Rumble to set up a rematch with Cena. While the first Cena-Rock match did gangbusters at the box office was well received critically, the second incarnation fell flat. We can’t really blame WWE for chasing the cash. That’s their prerogative as a corporation.
But say we lived in a perfect world? What-if Rock simply never came back?
Well, WrestleMania 27 goes down as perhaps the biggest disaster in the companies history since WrestleMania 9. That card was severely lacking in star power which is exactly why The Rock was needed to host. The top heel going into the event was a mysterious G.M who only made their presence known via email from a laptop next to the announce table.
WrestleMania 28, Cena likely goes into the PPV the challenger to face the champion Punk. Royal Rumble winner Shaemus (yuck) sadly beats World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan in 18 seconds.
The biggest loser is Jericho. Given absolutely nothing to do, despite being incredibly talented and superior to Shaemus. In our timeline, Jericho earned his title shot by winning a Ten Man Battle Royal on Raw. That definitely doesn’t happen. WWE was pushing Shaemus HARD. In my perfect world, Jericho and Bryan have a show higher up on the card with the young heel Bryan going over.
But, as we’ve previously established. The WWE run by a bunch of talentless, thoughtless bastards who wage constant war with the people they are supposed to try and get money from.
For my preferred scenario, Bryan going over even with the secondary belt probably placates his rapid fans for at least a few more years.
Cena likely goes over Punk clean as a whistle after losing (via shenanigans) twice before.
From simply making The Rock disappear we’ve cost the WWE millions, elevated Bryan, and destroyed Punk’s illustrious lengthy title reign.
The second year of this scenario, instead of a “Worst Year of Cena’s Life” shtick, perhaps we’re treated to his best year. He main events every PPV, successfully defends his title beating back various heels. Cena’s title reign is unspectacular outside of the walls of WWE.
Tumblr media
Okay, on second thought... Punk retains. He retains versus Cena, Jericho, Kane, Ryback, Orton, simply runs through the roster. At the Royal Rumble with no Rock to push Punk down a peg he retains heading into WrestleMania 29. The only hurdle he hasn’t overcome is The Undertaker and his WrestleMania Streak of 20-0.
Does Punk end The Streak? Should he? Oh, hell no! Punk probably had one foot out the door by then for a multitude of understandable reasons. Regardless, the money in this universe is pitting Streak vs Streak.
Our good friend Daniel, his reign eventually ends, but he isn’t shuffled so far down the card so his epic, long-standing push culminating in his crowning achievement in WrestleMania 30 is pushed back a year or two. Maybe in WrestleMania 31 it’s Bryan in Seth Rollins place cashing in his MITB briefcase mid-match to steal the World Heavyweight Championship from under Brock Lesnar and Roman Reign’s noses.

You know you're still allowed to like your faves if they're heels, right? ;)
Is this because of Dean? Because I still like him. (And I love my boys as heels???) He's my favorite wrestler. My issue is the current story got, and is, a little too gross and a little too real for me to enjoy. For a lot of reasons. Like at all. And boardline feels like character assassination. But that's just my opinion. So for the time being, I can only deal with current Dean in short burst, away from Seth, and if I don't think about any of the story surrounding him. Otherwise, I'd just be sad and uncomfortable when ever I think about him. And I can't have that.
My (probably) irrational fear for Seth is that they're gonna turn him heel in a "he's back to the person he was" type of angle. Which will also make no sense and feel incredibly gross and backwards to me. And make me want to avoid him currently for the time being so I'm not sad.
And when I say stuff like "Ro will be all I have left" I mean he will be the only one I can think about without my heart feeling like it's being ripped out. (Well it does for him too. But that's for the other reason. And that's... that's ok. Right now at least.)

top ten wrasslin’ matches of 2018
So before I get into this, I’m gonna lay down some ground rules--well, more like tell you the rules I gave myself and those rules are 1) did it make me laugh a bunch and forget about how stupid the world is? (which is the basis for every one of these kinds of lists really) 2) would I show this to someone who had never seen wrestling before? and 3) one (1) match per episode/pay-per-view with one (1) exception for a good reason With that in mind, I’m going to get some honorable mentions out of the way:
Kazuchika Okada vs Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, Kenny Omega vs Chris Jericho for the IWGP US Championship, and the Fatal Four Way for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship between Marty Scurll, KUSHIDA, Hiromu Takahashi, and Will Ospreay from Wrestle Kingdom 12-- they’re all really good and fun and worth checking out, but another Wrestle Kingdom 12 match is going on this list
The other two Chris Jericho NJPW matches versus Tetsuya Naito and EVIL--not on this list literally only due to the “one match per ppv” rule, but they’re all very fun, Chris Jericho is delightfully dickish and you should watch them in order to see Chris Jericho become a progressively more goth dad (he out gothed a dude named “EVIL” (all caps theirs, not mine) that’s how goth Chris Jericho got)
As much as it pains me and as much as it is a testament to what good wrestling there was in 2018, none of the Johnny Gargano-Tommaso Ciampa matches (1, 2, 3, which I can’t find online and whatever) are on this list (my favorite is probably their second match), and neither is Velveteen Dream-Tommaso Ciampa which rips (can I interest you in a fight between a Prince inspired wrassler who refers to himself in the third person and whose act became a giant subtweet of Hulk Hogan against just the biggest asshole in the world?). There is only one Johnny Gargano match on here, and if I’m writing a list of the best character arcs in 2018, the list goes Gargano’s redemption only to succumb to the dark side, Kazuchika Okada’s existential crisis after losing the championship, and Becky Lynch becoming The Man in that order. Becky’s arc really only started four-five months ago and much of it was spent by creative trying and utterly failing to get the crowd to boo her, and Okada’s arc was, by design, slow and frustrating after he lost the championship, but Gargano basically started the year as Luke Skywalker getting his hand cut off and ended the year as Kylo Ren yelling at a ghost on the salt planet, with every character turn making sense. It’s fascinating.
Speaking of, no Aleister Black-Johnny Gargano at NXT War Games 2 match which might be as pure a classic wrestling story as there is, second only to the Gargano match that is actually on here. (In real life, Aleister Black hurt his leg, so in story, they explained it that he got attacked in the parking lot by an unknown person, so the mystery of who attacked him would go on for months (coincidentally the same amount of time it would take someone to recover from an injury like Aleister Black’s) until Johnny Gargano fessed up to the act by kicking him in the face, so now Aleister is seeking justice. Wrestling is delightfully extra.
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs Asuka TLC match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship (no link, couldn’t find)-- whew (not “woo” in this house we boo the woo) Asuka was finally Asuka again (her first and last ppv matches in 2018 (this and against Charlotte at Wrestlemania) are super great and everything else is super not), Becky Lynch continued being the actual greatest, and I literally do not know how Charlotte Flair did not end up in the hospital after this. It’s not making the list for how the match ends in bullshit fashion even though it ends perfectly in character with consistent story logic (a pleasant fucking surprise from WWE especially considering, again, the rest of Asuka’s year)
None of the Shayna Baszler-Kairi Sane matches (can’t find NXT Takeover Brooklyn 4, but I found Evolution and NXT War Games II) (NXT was really good this year), which is a shame because all of which are great, but my personal favorite is on Evolution, and another match beats it out. As I’m writing out the list, I realized there aren’t a bunch of women’s matches, but that’s because WWE’s creative ideas for its women’s division was garbage until the Becky Lynch turn happened in August and got a crowd reaction they super didn’t want and tried to change until they were finally forced them to lean into it. However, Evolution was easily the best main roster WWE ppv.
Nothing from All In literally only because that show is for Wrestling Fans, and this list is supposed to be a “if you’ve never watched wrestling in your life” list. All In is good good fun, but if you show it to someone who’s never seen wrestling before, they’re gonna ask why are there dick druids, and you’re gonna have to explain that Joey Ryan, a dude who wrestles with his dick, came back to life after being murdered and the number one suspect was the guy from Arrow (really). Get into wrestling, then watch that PPV.
Good god, that’s a lot of honorable mentions. Anyway:
10. Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens, an open Intercontinental Championship Challenge on Monday Night RAW, August 27th - this is just a really fun wrestling match between two talented guys who were stuck in other feuds that were prolonged needlessly in 2018, and it was just fun to see these guys branch out, do something different, and tear the house down against each other like, “oh yeah, these two are really good at what they do, I almost forgot.”
9. Andrade Cien Almas vs. AJ Styles - Smackdown Live on September 18--Like Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins, AJ Styles was stuck in bad storylines that meant to make him look like a strong champion but ended up making him look like a plot armored goober. Here we have the story of the cocky upstart Almas taking the veteran champion Styles to his absolute limit with a finish that is smooth as hell.
8. Hiromu Takahashi vs. Will Ospreay, IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Dominion on June 9th - Spoiler for the number two entrant but this is where I’m breaking the “one per ppv rule” because Hiromu Takahashi has a broken neck and no one knows if he’ll ever wrestle again, so this might be his swan song. (He doesn’t break his neck in this match, I wouldn’t introduce him like that) These are two dudes who flip with zero caution to themselves with some incredible flippy shit. Watch it and pray for Hiromu to make a full recovery.
7. Six Man Ladder Match for the NXT North American Championship with Adam Cole, Ricochet, Velveteen Dream, EC3, Killian Dane, and Lars Sullivan - Okay, so, about this. Excepting Killian Dane and maybe Lars Sullivan, everyone here has had a better match elsewhere this year (Lars probably had a better match against Keith Lee, Adam Cole had his best match against Ricochet, Ricochet and EC3 had their best matches against Velveteen Dream, and Velveteen Dream had his best match against Tommaso Ciampa), but everyone gets a moment to shine here, and this is the NXT introduction of Ricochet who is basically a flippy videogame cheat code who is made out of some sort of alien substance. At one point the two large men Lars Sullivan and Killian Dane toss Ricochet across the ring to each other like they’re playing fucking catch. It’s hilarious and maybe the fifth most insane thing that happens here. If someone was to come up to me like, “I know nothing about wrestling, what should I watch to find out if I like it?” I would probably show them this.
6. Kenny Omega vs. Tomohiro Ishii,  G1 Tournament Match - I’m laughing just thinking about this match. I don’t think anyone would call Tomohiro Ishii the best wrestler in the world, but I love him with my heart. Kenny too, but a boyish giggle comes out of me every time Tomohiro no sells someone slapping the utter shit out of him and he says (presumably) something like “that it?!” (I’m a fan of this gif of Pete Dunne slapping a no-selling Tomohiro for Pete Dunne shaking his hand afterwards. Physical comedy!). Anyway, the story here is Kenny Omega has gone 6-0 in this tournament, Ishii (who he has a competitive history with) has gone 0-6 in the tournament, so Kenny takes him for granted and when he realizes his opponent won’t go down that easily, it’s too late. It’s quick, it’s fast paced, and very fun.
5. Meiko Satomura vs Mercedes Martinez, Mae Young Classic Quarterfinals - I had no idea who these women were before the Mae Young Classic, but I loved Meiko with her first match in it, while Mercedes was just, you know, fine. But this? Wheeew. Two veterans giving it their all, and if you don’t turn into a Michael Scott crying gif after when they show each other respect, we ain’t the same.
4. Johnny Gargano vs Andrade Cien Almas, NXT Takeover: Philadelphia -  Going with this one because it’s the most newbie friendly match, it kicks off Johnny Gargano’s year storyline at the finish, and Andrade Cien Almas is really really good at his job. It’s a simple “good guy versus arrogant heel” match, and Andrade comes out to a masked mariachi band as his entrance.
3. Kota Ibushi vs Cody Rhodes, Wrestle Kingdom 12 - there are probably better matches from Wrestle Kingdom 12 but this is my list so fuck you but this is the match where pro wrestling finally clicked with me after starting to watch it because of GLOW. Folks, this is a 20 minute Jackie Chan fight with Kota as the daffy Jackie Chan-like hero and Cody as Anime Biff Tannen. It is fast, has some wild acrobatics, and it is funny as hell.
2. Kazuchika Okada vs Kenny Omega, 2/3 Falls Match for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship (Part 1, Part 2), NJPW Dominion on June 9th - If the last one was a comedy, this is an epic. This thing last an hour and a half, and it goes by in a flash. The entire Okada-Omega series is basically wrestling’s Lord of the Rings, and this is its Return of the King. The only reason it’s not number one because of the match’s lack of follow through in the months since, but man, this is great.
1. Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair, Last Woman Standing Match at Evolution (start at 29:45 then watch the end here)- *types then deletes a bunch of unintelligible vowels* Okay, so this is the first match that really took advantage of the NXT Horsewomen since their call up in a good long while and it rules. I’d say Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch had been given nothing for 2018 until August, but “nothing” would be a step up in some cases *cough* group therapy *cough* *cough* Nia Jax injuring every single one of them plus others and the only reason she still has a job is that she’s The Rock’s cousin *cough* Charlotte had her Wrestlemania match against Asuka, but this? This is mean, this is rough, this is the story of a girl, no this is the story of two former friends wanting to throw the other through a table. When pro wrestling is bad, it’s “what the fuck am I doing with my life watching this shit” bad, and when it’s good, there is nothing like it. This is the latter (not the ladder, but there are those here).
