#and out of NOWHERE she was like ''who's better: Tetsutetsu or Kirishima?''
Text
Over the weeks, I’ve learned that the best way to get kids to participate in math is to make all my word problems anime-themed, so if y'all have any (kid-friendly) anime characters you want me to pop into my student's word problems, hit me up lol.

Request: Can I request Hc’s for a darling who is freezing but the heater isn’t enough so she has no choice but to cuddle with the Yandere? With Bakugou, Kirishima, Shinsou, Monoma, Tetsutetsu and Tamaki?
So I assume that darling is a bit unwilling to interact with her Yandere? Underaged characters are aged up and this is post-kidnapping because it made more sense to me.
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, possessiveness, obsessiveness, delusions, paranoia, clinginess, touchiness, mentions of kidnapping
Human heater
Katsuki Bakugou
Tumblr media
💥Katsuki tries his best to be respectful, though he gets highly irritated with the fact that his s/o just rejects any sort of interaction. He gets it, alright, he ended up abducting her and she hates him for it, he’s frustrated about it himself. But he is not exactly the best guy to deal with a difficult s/o for a long time, he’s more on a short-tempered side. Really holds his tongue though, he doesn’t want to look like some sort of miserable and bad guy in front of you. On a side note, Bakugou needs cuddles too so the clear lack of any sort of physical touch kind of gets under his skin after a while. He’s probably just too proud to admit that he’d like a hug or two once in a while.
💥Due to his Quirk I’d actually cannon him to have a higher body temperature so it’s definitely an advantage. Not gonna lie, the poor guy was just plainly flustered and confused when his darling suddenly crawled closer to him and hugged him out of nowhere, his heart skipped a few beats as well. Tried to play it down through some words, whether you believed him or not is up to you. It’s only after he notices the way his darling shivers that he finally understands what is going on. Oh lord, he gets quite a little bit cocky after this new information though, he would have turned that way in either case and he ends up mocking his s/o a little bit over it before he stops to not change darling’s mind and use that chance. He’s happy with this situation after all and he won’t really let you leave his arms until who knows how long. Whether he’ll use the fact that you seem to freeze easy against you or not depends. On the one hand he feels sometimes a bit needy, on the other hand Katsuki is quite protective and wouldn’t really want to risk you getting sick.
Eijiro Kirishima
Tumblr media
♦️Kirishima regrets his actions as well, though differently from Bakugou he is not aware. This guy is far more delusional and will most likely end up justifying that he kidnapped s/o for her own safety since Kirishima needs a strong trigger to be pushed over the edge like this. That’s why he kind of hopes that him and you can work this out and can return to the relationship you once had, even if he’s not entirely dense and understands that it’ll be a little bit hard on your side. He’s persistent though and after a while turns desperate as well, yearning for the love he wants again. Kirishima is affectionate and doesn’t hesitate at all to show his love so you showing him the cold shoulder hurts him a lot.
♦️So the moment his darling ends up suddenly snuggling closer to him and pressing herself closer to his warm body, his heart almost bursts with joy and he is very quick to embrace her in his arms. Thank his delusional antics, but he truly believes that this is a good sign of you finally starting to grow more comfortable around him and he ends up cooing slightly, simply because he finds you so endearing, resting all safe and sound in his arms. It won’t be until a little bit later that he finally seems to realize that his darling is shivering and has goosebumps over their skin, hinting that she’s feeling cold. Don’t worry, it won’t discourage him though and make him think that you only cuddle with him now because you don’t want to freeze to death. His thoughts rather travel to the aspect where he decides to buy a better heater since Eijiro is protective as well and wants s/o to feel comfortable with him. In the meantime he’ll just settle with wrapping himself and s/o up in a blanket to give her even more warmth, he doesn’t want his little cutie to get sick.
Hanta Sero
Tumblr media
😁He tries to act as good as he can, but Sero is aware enough to know that he abducted darling without her will and it’s only natural for her to be pissed now. It weights him down heavily yet in public he does his best to appear fine and he wants to keep the same facade in front of s/o as well. Maybe to give her some sort of ease, the plan fires back though and the more time passes on, the more depressed he becomes. He misses the good times where things were right between him and you, but there’s no real way that it can ever be the same again, can it? He neglects the truth a bit, deluding himself in thinking that things might be fixed if his darling and him just work it out. A lie is less painful than the truth.
😁He’s affectionate like Kirishima, though not on quite the same level of the red-haired guy. It doesn’t change much of the fact that he likes to keep his hands on his darling though and so the complete ignorance and unwillingness of everything gets to him fast. He’s initially a bit surprised when he suddenly feels how you close the space between you and him, just having slipped out of his delusions and contemplating if the situation is just hopeless. His worries are quickly blown away though and a smile just suddenly shines on his face and similar to Eijiro, Sero won’t be able to stop himself from cooing quite a bit on you. Call him terrible for latching on the newfound hope that maybe he can still mend the broken trust, wanting to hide within his delusions once again. Part of him knows that you just did what you did because you were simply cold, but his mind will most likely settle for ignoring this. It doesn’t mean that he won’t memorize that he needs to buy a better heater. Sero is a little bit manipulative, but he’s also sincere and isn’t a fan of getting your love and affection out of such a cheap trick.
Hitoshi Shinsou
Tumblr media
💟He was irrational for a moment, let his fear and anxiety get the better of him and that is why he ended up in this whole mess. And Shinsou knows that he only really has himself to blame for this all. Shinsou was actually quite careful to hide this side of his, very similar to Bakugou, since he didn’t want to scare the only person away who had ever truly meant the world to him. He ruined it all though and he’s so harsh on himself, not even wanting to show his face to you at first. You probably didn’t want to see him either and so he just silently suffered without bothering you. He ends up hoping in vain that time will help a little bit which he doesn’t even believe himself. He won’t really get angry or mad at s/o for neglecting his presence, he knows that they have all the reasons in the world to act that way around him.
💟Honestly, he’s afraid to hope that things will get better since he wants to avoid a heartbreak that he doesn’t need. So just imagine his reaction when he suddenly feels darling wrapping her arms around him and resting against his chest. His brain probably stops working for a brief second. He did wish secretly for this and he gets more emotional about it than he should, on the one hand he already kind of tries to find a rational reason for this. He simply doubts that from one day to another you just forgave him, he didn’t even forgive himself completely yet and he doubts he can truly ever let go. So he finds it out so fast, that you are only feeling cold and for that chose to begrudgingly hold on him for more warmth. Is he a little bit sad and disappointed? Of course, but he expected something like this. It’s the best that he can get for now though and he will not reject a chance to hold his darling in his arms like this. As shameful as it is for him to admit, the thought to use the previous scenario against you a lot did cross his mind, but he quickly shook it off. He’d rather gain your trust and affection through less cheap ways back.
Tamaki Amajiki
Tumblr media
🌗From everyone here he deals the worst with himself and his darling after kidnapping. Tamaki is not violent to you, he’d rather chop his legs off than hurting his precious princess, but he just suffers from various mental breakdowns and ends up crying himself out in your presence. He’s evil, a devil, a shame for heroes, hideous and so much more for taking you away for his own selfishness. His crying and babbling sessions are exhausting for both himself and you and even if he does not believe himself to be worthy to even touch you, he is incredibly needy and becomes with time far too exasperated, desperately searching for comfort to the point where he might turn more delusional. He does his very best to help you after all, can’t you at the very least try to love him? Maybe this all isn’t as lost as you two might think after all.
🌗Having s/o near him makes him quite itchy to touch her and smother her in his love. Here he is, trying his hardest until you suddenly do the one thing he was silently praying for every night. Nuzzling yourself closer to his body, successfully helping Tamaki’s brain to stop functioning for a moment. His face grows red, his whole body stiffens up and for a short moment he wonders if he is perhaps just dreaming. His heart just starts swelling until it might burst and he definitely reacts extremely emotional to the point where he tears up a bit. How precious is this! He can’t handle this! Freaks out on the inside, but he is possessive enough to not let go now that he finally got what his hurt heart was craving for this entire time. A bit too overwhelmed with his emotions, Tamaki will need a while longer until he becomes aware why exactly you decided to suddenly become cozy with him. Turns a bit gloomy, though he tells himself that he should have expected this. Despite that not his entire mood is ruined, he’s honestly just happy that you decided to acknowledge him in some way and if you truly hate him, you wouldn’t have down this, right?
Neito Monoma
Tumblr media
🌆Good grief, Neito is honestly frustrating to bear with simply because his antics are a bit more…difficult. He is kind of in denial about the whole kidnapping and the sudden rebellion of his darling who doesn’t even want to talk with him anymore. His actions were born out of selfishness and maybe some part of him knows this, but he rejects the whole idea that because of him the relationship he used to have with you is ruined. Just like Katsuki, Monoma finds himself having a hard time because of your ignorance as well. He’s quite touchy-feely and enjoys being near darling all the time so the sudden distance he has to put between him and you doesn’t do well to his nerves. Out of everyone he’s probably the one who acts the most manipulative because whilst Katsuki tries to show patience and respect, Neito ends up beginning to guilt-trip s/o sooner than later. He did so much for you, can’t you repay the favor at least once?
🌆Why do I see the high possibilities that he might have influenced this situation to his advantage? Because he’d totally do this. He’s a drama king, but Neito is also quite sly and if he comes to realize that normal guilt-tripping won’t do the trick, he is the type to search for other ways which don’t involve letting him appear like the bad guy. No, he has to look like a gentleman and good guy in your eyes after all, slightly narcissistic traits getting the better of him. Whether he planned it or not, he’s still kind of flashed at first since it’s been way too long since he really had any physical contact with you. But after the first second of shock? This guy is over the moon and being delusional will see this as a positive sign, his mind twists images as much as it wants until he is happy with the outcome. In a generally better and smug mood after that day which spares you from any potential whining and emotional manipulation from him, makes you more prone to him forcing his affection on you now though. By the way, he will use that method again now that he knows that it works.
Tetsutetsu
Tumblr media
➕Tetsutetsu is a rather straightforward guy in regards of his feelings and his actions, the same does count for kidnapping his darling as well. He’s on the delusional side and similar to Kirishima, he honestly never suspected his feelings for s/o to be wrong. Boy is just in love, it doesn’t change the fact that he feels guilty about his actions though. Maybe even insecure about his abilities to be a hero because if he can’t even protect the person who is his little star, he feels like he can’t protect anyone at all. Being someone who is on a very affectionate and sensitive side though, he basically feels like a kicked puppy every time you just brush him off like he’s some dirt you want to remove. Obviously you’re angry with him after what he did, Tetsutetsu is despite his delusions very understanding and caring after all.
➕So he chooses to wait, in hopes of some sort of miracle since time is supposed to fix everything, right? Apparently he was right, at least he believes so when you suddenly cuddle him out of the blue, successfully melting him with your simple sign of affection. Tetsutetsu counts to the type of Yandere who gets without a little bit love from darling very quickly depressed so he’s nothing short of ecstatic about this situation. Good luck about getting out anytime soon, it’s your fault for deciding to initiate this sudden cuddling session in the first place. Even with the knowledge that you were merely feeling cold and wanted to use him as a human heater, Tetsutetsu’s good mood won’t vanish. Much more on the opposite, if darling tends to freeze so easily, he’ll end up cuddling them more often to keep them warm. Don’t misunderstand, he will do something about the problem with the heater since he’s protective, but doing a bit more to ensure that you won’t catch a cold isn’t exactly a wrong thing to do. Isn’t that right?

Imagine Reader/Katsuki Bakugo part 2
Part one here:
Be aware that English is not my mother language, but I am doing my best.
Also, it has been a long time since I last watched or read BNHA, some stuff may be out of the context of the anime.
Tumblr media
So far you got into the academy half semester, everybody was curious to know which quirk you had. They discovered it is regenerating when you got into an ugly fight with Bakugo after a rivalry over a P.E. class in witch you tied times. You and Bakugo are punished by having to clean the class together. You tell him your secret: Aizawa is your uncle and also that your quirk leaves scars in your body. You do so by showing your chest to him. Professor Mic gets you in what he thinks is a making out session
Now you are both sitting in front of Director Nezu, Aizawa by your side facepalming with what you are pretty sure is the most disappointed face he has ever made. Professor Mic stands beside him, holding a laugh.
"I mean... I know you humans have... peculiar, sexual habits, and you are in that age." Nezu says after a sip from his tea. "But it is a very grave rule breaking you are commiting here."
"WE WERE NOT ABOUT TO DO ANYTHING!" Bakugo screams for the third time. "If so, I was going to attack y/n"
"WHAT?!" Aizawa exclaims, as Bakugo burns red in realizing what he had just said.
"No! Attack likein assault... no! Like in beating the shit out of... "
"Shut up, you're not helping anyone." you say, putting your collar up and shrinking into the chair with your arms crossed.
"Look, y/n was the one who opened the shirt!" He continues.
Professor Mic is not even trying to stop himself from laughing anymore, he even leans against Aizawa, whose face is completely enraged.
"Well Aizawa, once you are the one responsible for y/n, you might sign the warning." says Nezu, putting a pen on top of a paper full of words. "And we will call Mrs. Bakugo tomorrow."
"Will call my... oh fuck." Bakugo pulls his hair in grief.
"And so the both of you know, as much as I don't think this will be necessary to say, if it repeats again you will both be... expelled" Director Nezu says, and you can se a sparkle of meaningness in his eye.
You can feel Aizawa's eyes burning onto you.
...
Aizawa gave you the worst lecture you've ever seen in your life. You apologize to him as much as you can, but he is still angry. This makes you upset, but you promise him you will stay out of trouble. He is the only family you have and you care a lot about him and his approval.
This makes you go back to your dorm, head down, thinking about getting back to keeping a low profile. People call you to seat with them and play some uno, but you refuse and go straight to your room. But as you open the door, Bakugo closes it back. You get face to face with him, both of you agressively staring at each other.
"This was on you!" He says bumping his index against your chest.
"What's wrong? Afraid of mama? Is Big Bom Bom Boy a mommy's boy?" You answer, pushing him away from you.
"What did you just call me, brat?!"
As you see Bakugo get his hands ready to fight, you prepare yourself yo fight back. But you sunddely remember Aizawa's disappointed look. You shrink your shoulders and put your head down once again. Bakugo stares, confused.
You step back and bow.
"Sorry. I didn't mean that. I apologize." you say, then you get inside of the room as fast as you can.
"What?" You hear him saying.
You sit, leaning against the door and sob a little. You,then, clean your face and go to your desk to study.
...
As the weeks go by, Bakugo tries to compete with you many times, at first you do it too, but when you notice Aizawa looking, you keep your pace down and step away not to cause trouble.
You can clearly see that Bakugo gets even more angry when this happens, but he does not talk to you or insists until the next time.
In a month you get back to being a quiet presence in the class. Except for you can always feel Bakugo's fierce eyes on the back of your neck.
Until a day you are studing for the tests and a ball hits the tree you are leaning against and shakes it very hard. A boy comes running towards you.
"Hey, sorry!" Says Tetsutetsu. "We are playing quirkball, and SOMEONE hit the ball way too hard" he says staring at the court.
"Quirkball?" you ask while he helps you stand and clean your uniform.
"It is like volleyball, but you can use your quirk yo cheat. Wanna play?"
"I... I don't see how I can use my quirk to cheat on volleyball." you answer, organizing your materials and ready to go.
"HEEEEY! Y/N COME PLAY WITH US!!" you hear Uraraka's voice, followed by Midoriya, Tsuyu and Kirishima.
They scream so much at you that you get too embarassed not to play. When you get there, HE is there, staring at you.
"Midoriya, Uraraka, Kirishima vs Y/n, Bakugo and me, Tusyu is the juge" Tetsutetsu announces and then turns to you. "Leave Midoriya's balls to me."
He immediately turns himself into iron.
You and Bakugo exchange a look, he seems a little surprized to see you there and you get confused feelings about it. For a brief moment you think you have seen him smile. But as you look at him again, he is making that rageful face.
"Stay out of my way." He says, pushing you aside and stomping to the spot near the net."I am gonna EXTERMINATE all of you!" Bakugo points at the other team.
"It... it is just a game Kaachan." Midoriya sutters while Uraraka facepalms.
"COME AT ME, BRO!" Kirishima screams back at him, turning himself into rock.
You barely see the game start. Tetsutetsu launches the ball, which goes straight to Kirishima. He recieves it easily, hitting it to Uraraka's direction. She touches it gently and it floats above the net, where Midoriya shows up and kicks it with his quirk.
"I WILL GET IT!" you hear Tetsutetsu scream, but the ball is coming straight in your direction.
"Wait, no!!" Midoriya screams and everyone gasps.
You put yourself in reception position and the ball hits your arms, you can feel them breaking in an excruciating pain, but you are used to it. The ball bounces and hits Tetsutetsu's head, he was not even paying attention anymore, he was trying to reach to save you.
Bakugo comes from nowhere and cuts the ball with a huge explosion to the other side of the net.
"DIE!!" He screams.
It bursts against the floor while everyone is staring at you.
Tetsutetsu kneels beside you.
"Oh my god! Let's take y/n to Recovery Girl!" he says, trying to lift you in his shoulders.
"WHAT? No, I'm ok! I'm ok!" You say jumping away from him.
Everyone stares at you while you move your arms to show they are intact.
"What? That is my quirk, remeber?" You say, shrinking your shoulders, a little embarassed about all the fuzz.
"You are amazing!!" Kirishima screams, hands on head.
"Y/n can catch Midoriya's balls too!! I tought only me and Kirishima could do it!" Tetsutetsu says shaking you from your shoulders.
"Ahn... let's not overdo it, though." You say.
"ARE WE GONNA PLAY OR WHAT?!" Bakugo screams, launching a ball so explosive, it puts Kirishima to the ground.
As the game goes, you recieve the ball from Tetsutetsu and assist Bakugo many times. Each point you get, you and Tetsutetsu start celebrating more and more excitedly. Bakugo refuses to take part in this, but he seems to be having as much fun as you. Probably because he has already hurt everyone in the other side at least once.
Tsuyu announces the end of the game, you won.
Tetsutetsu pulls both of you into a forced hug. Your head meets Bakugo chest, it is all sweaty, but it does not smell bad as in most people. Bakugo smells like caramel, probably because of his quirk. Also, you can feel the extreme heat it emanates, it is like hugging a hot water purse.
As he screams and curses for Tetsutetsu to let him go, you blush. Why are you noticing these kind of things?! You look at him, eyes wide open and notice that your heartbeat has gone high.
He looks back at you with a confused expression. Your already blushed face turns completely red, and he stops fighting Tetsutetsu and blushes too.
When Tetsutetsu lets you go, you are both looking at the other side. You have your hands in your cheeks and shake your head. He right away starts going away without a word.
"He normally does that when he loses." Kirishima says, confused. "Nice game...oooooh..."
You look at him and realize he notices your blush. He is impressed at first, but then smirks at you.
"OOOOoooooh..." he says again opening a huge smile.
Not knowing what to do about it, you shake your hands at him, making an "x" trying to avoid letting him say anything else. Then, you do the only thing your brain can think of: you run the hell away from there.
...
Caramel smell. Who smells like caramel?! You head is confused, you can't sleep. You decide to stand up and study. As you sit in your desk all you can remember is that look you exchanged while locked together in Tetsutetsu's hug.
Oh dear, were you liking Katsuki Bakugo?! The jerk who thinks he is better than everyone else? The imbecil who got you in trouble with your uncle twice?
No, it must not be. Your brain is just confused because... you know hatred is often confused with love.
It also turns a lot into it, you've heard.
"Shit!" You say as you notice you left your pen so long on the paper the ink stained it.
You hear a knock on the door.
"Who the f..." you whisper, looking at the clock. It is too late for anyone to visit.
You slowly open it to check who it is. The door is forced towards you and you step back. It closes behind him with a bam.
Caramel smell.
You can't see anything, he has already come to you with the most furious kiss you have ever recieved. How else could he kiss, he was an agressive boy, he should kiss ageessively.
"What the hell?" You say, pushing him away, but he is stronger than you, you can only separate your faces, he holds you tight against him.
"Shut up." He says leaning on your neck and starting to suck at it.
"Hey! Hey! What the fuck is this?!" You ask taking some steps back, but he follows you. You can feel that whatever he is doing is gonna leave a mark.
"Do you want it or not?!" He asks, pushing you against the wall and pressing his body against yours.
You can fell the caramel scent taking over your brain. You fell your body getting soft against his. You can't get yourself to offer any more resistence.
"Want it or not?" He repeats, his red eyes staring deep into yours.
"I... I do." You say, putting your hands on his hips and lifting your chin in his direction.
He smiles at you, you wait for him to kiss you again.
You hear an annoying noise.
It is your phone ringing with the alarm. You were passed out in your study table. It is time to get ready for classes.
You lean your head on your hands and lose the count of how many "fucks" you say.
You like Katsuki Bakugo.

A Dream In Red Ch 16
A03
You awoke to the now-familiar walls of your dorm room. The past two months at UA had sped by after your eventful first week. You fell easily into your place in the Bakusquad, and you had never felt more at home. There were times where you ached for your old friend, Inasa, but you hadn’t gathered the nerve to speak to him since the incident.
In the meantime, you kept yourself busy. At Kirishima’s insistence, you applied to become Ms. Joke’s student aide. She quickly approved you, and it felt almost natural to help her tap into the feelings of your peers. It was a nice reassurance to you, if the hero thing didn’t work out, you could always follow in your mother’s footsteps as a therapist. You assisted her in some of your off time with counseling other students, with their permission. It was a taxing effort, but you always came out feeling like you were doing some good.
The only downside was it limited your time with your new friends. Outside of classes and Bakugou’s study sessions, you felt a bit distant from your friends. As you stretched out some kinks from last night’s rest, you looked around your room. The walls were now littered with mementos of your time with each of them. The photo booth pictures from your hookey day with Kirishima were pinned in the middle of a corkboard, surrounded by other pictures. After Mina spotted the damning picture, she insisted on buying a Polaroid camera. Slowly, your board had filled with pictures of you and the rest of the group, mostly from the nights they were able to meet up at Sero’s house for a night.
Seeing the pictures filled you with determination. If you didn’t feel like you were spending enough time with your friends, it was easy to see what to do. Make more time for them. With a burst of energy, you slipped from your covers to get ready for the day.
Water dripped from your hair as you heard a knock at the door. You didn’t move to answer. The knock was merely a courtesy at this point, as you knew it was either Kirishima or Mina at the door. After forgetting your key one too many times, they both held onto a spare for you. That quickly turned into them letting themselves in as they please. Mina made it a point to never settle on a schedule, and you had found her fast asleep on your couch more than once.
Kirishima was more predictable. If you weren’t downstairs by a certain time, he would usually come to make sure you were actually awake. He moved easily through your dorm room as he would his own. There wasn’t much of a difference at this point, he easily spent as much time here as you did there. At least you knew that your relationship with Kirishima was solid.
Friendship- you knew your friendship was solid. Even with how much time had passed, you still didn’t let yourself linger on how you felt for what could be your closest friend. You toweled your hair off, wishing that you had Mina’s magical hair powers.
“G’morning princess. You better dry your hair off before we leave, I don’t want you catching a cold.” Kirishima set a plate of bacon and toast on your coffee table before plopping down, watching whatever was on this early.
“A cold? Kiri, it’s the end of June. If anything, the heat will help my hair dry faster.” You stuck your tongue out at him, quickly devouring the bacon laid out for you. You quickly jumped onto the couch next to him, splaying your cold hair over his shoulder. He recoiled from the chill, trying to move further back on the couch to avoid your hair. You followed him closely and he quickly ran out of the room. Seeing that he was trapped, you quickly pounced, letting your hair fall onto his face. You laughed as he struggled weakly, joining you in laughing. You smiled down at him, your cheeks heating as you noticed your position. You held yourself over his body, your leg tucked in between his own. Your faces were ridiculously close. If he noticed your compromising position, he didn’t let you know. You quickly collapsed yourself onto his chest, a place you were far more familiar with.
You were both dressed for the heat and humidity, shorts and shirts with little to no sleeve. You weren’t used to how much skin was touching between the two of you. The thought made your breath hitch. You felt his hands clasp around your waist, resting on the small of your back. In your earlier struggle, your shirt had risen slightly, and you could feel the heat of his hands on your skin.
“Hey Lil Mama, I hate to be the bearer of bad news… but it is Monday. We do have classes in a little bit.” His breath fanned over the top of your head. You cursed your Monday classes, not the first time this semester. Kirishima chuckled as you pulled yourself from his embrace. You quickly pulled together your things and Kirishima took them without thought. You quickly ran a brush and your fingers through your hair, deeming yourself presentable.
Your fingers entwined with Kirishima as he pulled you out the door, locking it quickly behind him. The usual group was waiting downstairs, Kaminari and Tetsu chatting about some game on their phone, and Mina and Sero curled into each other while still in the cool building. They peeked up at you once you entered the room.
“Took your time this morning, Sweet Cheeks,” Kaminari threw a wink your way, “Not that you need it with that rockin' bod.” You blew a kiss his way and he mimed catching it and holding it close to his chest.
“It’s a lil early to be going so hard, Sparky.” You laughed at his motions, surprised with how much energy he had so early in the morning. It was unlike him.
“He’s just all riled up since he heard our class was getting together for summer break. I think he just wants to get back with his girlfriend.” Mina cackled at him, “Or maybe his not-boyfriend.” She laughed harder as Kaminari flushed and tried to stutter out a response.
“Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Everyone RSVP’d, didn’t they?” Kirishima asked Mina as the group wandered towards the door. She nodded quickly.
“Yeah, we’re all going of course. Midoriya, Ochako, and Todoroki are coming from the states for a week, and the rest are confirmed for the whole three weeks.” You paled a bit, you hadn’t thought much about Summer Break, but you had assumed the Bakusquad would be around. You were getting nervous. Was this going to be three weeks like you used to spend, all by yourself? You would probably give in at that point and talk to Inasa. Hell, you’d probably stay with your parents the whole time.
Kirishima drew you out of your thoughts with a thumb rubbing across yours. “What about you, Princess? Got any plans?” He has a gleam in his eyes as he asks. You quickly shake your head, you had nothing. The feeling sat heavy in your stomach.
“Good! We got an empty bed in our cabin, you should come with.” Your head shot up quickly, and he smiled down at you. “What, you thought I’d leave my favorite girl all alone all Summer? Don’t worry about paying for it or anything, Yaoyorozu said she was covering it.” You quickly nodded, not trusting your words. Mina laughed at your excitement, throwing her arm over your shoulder.
Bakugou joined the group shortly, and the group quickly dissolved into chatting about their various plans for their vacation. He had opened up to you considerably but still held himself back from being too close to you. The two of you had decided to act like the night at Sero’s hadn’t happened, but you could tell he pulled away from you because of it. The anger and desperation you had seen in him had burned out a bit more, but the bitterness remained. It was a bit of a tightrope act you were pulling, balancing your relationship with him and also trying to help heal the wounds in his head. You tried to talk him into counseling, but he refused in typical Bakugou fashion.
You had a soft spot for Small Might, but even this couldn’t keep you focused. With less than a month left in the semester, this class had devolved into Common Sense 101- don’t get into fistfights with reporters, try not to get photographed while intoxicated- all things that should be obvious.
You took notes here and there, but your notebook was filled with small messages from Kaminari and Kirishima and small games like tic-tac-toe. Your head rested in your hand, urging yourself to not get drowsy. You knew from experience that wandering into Fatgum’s class sleepy would end with some pretty bruises by the end of the day if you were lucky. The class was dismissed and you quickly said your goodbyes as Kirishima ushered you out the door.
Today was another team exercise, and to your surprise, you were teamed up with Iida. Fatgum seemed to push you and Kirishima together at any point that he could. You and Iida had only spoken a few times, mostly due to Kirishima’s friendliness with the man. You greeted him with a quick wave and he responded with a nod.
Iida was all business. As soon as the two of you walked to the training yard, he was already trying to form a plan of attack.
“Iida, we don’t even know who we’re up against.” His high-strung personality was making you a bit unnerved.
“That is precisely why we must be prepared.” He swung his arm in front of you, almost robotically. Someone needed to teach this boy how to calm down. The two of you spent the warm-up time prepping your game plan and establishing a mental connection.
After a few matches, you and Iida were called to the field. Your nerves sat heavily in your stomach as you squared off with the people across from you, the people you would be least effective against in this class: Kirishima and Tetsutetsu. You had worked with both of them throughout the semester to strengthen your quirk, and they had become pretty good at blocking you out in return. Iida sensed your apprehension to square up against Kirishima, and thankfully placed himself between the two of you.
Fatgum signaled for the match to start, and you immediately summoned your war hammer to your hands. The lance was nice to keep the distance, but its heft was nowhere near what you needed to break the steel and Unbreakable forms of the two you were up against. Iida sent you updates on how he was faring with Kirishima, so you were able to focus on the shimmering man in front of you.
Tetsutetsu didn’t seem hesitant to approach you, but he was moving cautiously. You readied your war hammer, but he didn’t stray towards its range. Seeing the momentary lapse of movement, you made your way quickly into his head. He was ready for you, a simple melody he had stuck in his head was repeated quickly, seemingly blocking any thought you could discern. You had no choice but to push deeper, eyes glazing over slowly as you focused more on penetrating the looping firewall he had put up. He used this to his advantage, and you barely felt the push of adrenaline from him to warn yourself.
You blocked his fist, barely, with a swing from your hammer. The heft helped against his armor, but what you gained in damage was more than taken in speed. You had to think quickly. He had grown to expect the hammer from behind, so you altered direction. Your manifested weapons were now approaching from his sides. The element of surprise was ruined by his impressive peripheral vision, and instead of moving backward, he dropped. Your hammer swung through the empty air at the loss of the opposing force, causing you to stumble forward. He tucked his head down and led with his iron shoulder, hitting you hard in the stomach and forcing you to the ground. You felt a pop, and your next intake of breath felt sharp against your ribs. You could already feel his remorse rolling through your head and used that to slip further in.
As soon as you were in his head, you thought of your nightmares. The fear and terror. You thought of your screams and echoed their sound into his head. You watched as he grabbed at his temple, swaying above you. You maneuvered yourself out from under him, not yet able to get a full breath in your lungs. As you stood, a blur of silver and blue buzzed past you, and a Recipro Burst knocked into Tetsutetsu’s face full force. You watched the silvery boy go lax on the ground and confirmed the inky darkness in his mind. He would be down for a while.
You released your connection on Tetsu and turned to see a full Unbreakable Kirishima close behind you. It seemed like Iida wasn’t fast enough to take Tetsu out and still keep the redhead off of you, not that you blamed him. You didn’t let off that you could barely breathe, you just stood as straight as you could, urging another hammer into existence. If you could just stall long enough, Iida could get the upper hand, and the match would be over. Two against one, with Iida’s speed, should be an easy win.
You tried desperately to get in his head, but he was the one you practiced with the most. He didn’t even rely on the melody method Tetsu put into effect earlier, he simply kept you busy in his head. A never-ending deluge of questions battered you, ones you knew he already knew the answer to. You had to think of something to break his concentration, but nothing was coming.
It was getting harder for you to stand on your own, your head was getting dizzy. It wasn’t an unpleasant feeling. Your mind was drifting a little too, like to the night Kirishima stayed in your room. You pictured it clearly in your head, the way he looked curled up next to you. You blushed a bit as you realized you were still connected to Kirishima, sending him glimpses of abstract memory. You could only think of one question.
Why did you kiss me then?
Kirishima’s body was rigid, not only due to his quirk. He was frozen trying to think of an answer on the spot. This was your blessing, you thought a little too loudly, as Iida’s foot appeared behind your friend.
You had a collapsed lung. The force of Tetsu’s impact and your subsequent impact between the ground and the man snapped the end of your rib, poking it into your lung. It hurt, yes, and it was a major inconvenience, but the medical staff on call patched you up fairly quickly. They were no Recovery Girl, but they easily slipped your bones back together and mended the hole in your lung with ease. Unfortunately, the pain lingered and your skin was dappled with green and black bruising along your side. Fatgum seemed happy that you were able to take the hit at least, and you liked to think you tasted a bit of sweet, tangy pride as your mind skimmed over his.
The downside was that you were bed-bound, or at least dorm-bound until the bruising let up. The boys got off easy, with some black eyes and a concussion, easily fixed and sent on their way. It made you wish you had some better form of defense.
They were waiting for you as you left the medical office, one on each side of the door. You were still a bit out of it from the lack and sudden rush of oxygen your injury provided, and you quirk roamed free among their minds. Tetsu’s guilt washed over you in heavy waves, pulling at you like the riptide. On the other side, Kirishima’s bright worry and sharp anger cut through your mind. The combination almost made your head swim. You grabbed for their hands, and they gave in easily as you made your way to the dorms. Neither spoke, much less to each other.
You cleared your throat, uncomfortable with the silence between the boys. “So, Tetsu. Nice tackle, I was really in a bind there.” He looked away, ashamed.
“I’m sorry…” Kirishima’s hand tightened around yours, his anger flaring. You shot him a glance and squeezed his hand firmly.
“It was training, that’s what you’re supposed to do. I doubt Fatgum wants us to hold back. Besides, I’m training to be a full-fledged hero just like the two of you. I can’t afford to be treated like a doll.” They both knew you were right, but it didn’t seem to make them feel any better. The door of your dorm house was in sight, and Tetsu stopped.
“I… I think I’m gonna head back. See you guys later.” You sighed as he walked away. Maybe you could get Ms. Joke to talk to him if he kept being so mopey. Kirishima didn’t even acknowledge his leaving, instead, ushering you into the dorms and up to his room. He dropped your hand once the door shut behind you. You watched in silence as he busied himself around the room, grabbing cushions and blankets. He gathered them up around his couch before leading you over. He motioned for you to lay on the couch, propping up pillows and laying blankets over you until he deemed you were sufficiently comfortable before sitting in front of the couch with a huff.
You obliged him for a while, the two of you absentmindedly watching the awful hero soap on his TV. You could see the bruise forming on the side of his face, darkening as time passed. It bothered you almost as much as the unfamiliar pout marring his face. This wouldn’t do.
You opened up your mind to his, catching his attention. He glanced up at you from the side of his eyes. You grabbed for him, scooting back into the couch. It seemed like he was going to ignore your request, but he slowly scooted in beside you, trapping you between himself and the cushions. His arms tangled around your waist gingerly. You could feel his breath on your neck and it sent shivers coursing through you.
“You shouldn’t be angry at him.” It came out as a whisper, pressed up against his forehead.
“I know.” You weren’t able to run your hands through his hair like you wanted to, so you settled for rubbing his nape.
“I’m alright.”
“I know.”
“You’re sweaty.” This time you earned a laugh.
“I know.” He finally looked up at you, searching your face. You weren’t lying, he shouldn’t be mad, you were OK, and you were both tacky with sweat. His face didn’t move as he studied you, and then he remembered. He quickly untangled from your hold, standing straight up in front of you.
“Why don’t we both get a quick shower, yeah?” You nodded, easing yourself up. He helped you get up and followed behind you as you hobbled your way into the bathroom. He rummaged through his linen closet, tossing you a towel, and ran to his room to try to find something for you to wear. He returned with an oversized Crimson Riot shirt and a pair of baggy shorts, laying them on the counter.
“Hey, lemme see?” His voice was soft as he looked at your side. You lifted your shirt as much as your muscles allowed, giving way to the black and green bruises enveloping your side from your ribs to your hip. He winced as he traced the edge, but the heat of his skin on yours felt wonderful to you. He stepped closer and pulled your hand away from your shirt. His arms enveloped you lightly and you felt a warm kiss pressed to your forehead. “I know I shouldn’t be mad. I just don’t like seeing you hurt.” You felt warm in his arms. You met his eyes, chin resting against his chest.
“Lucky for you, I usually have a pretty badass shield.” He grinned.
“And I would have won that round if I had my amazing spear. I’ll let you get in the shower. If you need me, just yell. I won’t be far.”
“You never are.” You teased. It felt right, though. You were never really that far from each other.

BnHA Chapter 037: More Hallway Encounters
Previously on BnHA: Aizawa taught an entire audience of people how to respect women. Bakugou faced off against Ochako. Bakugou tried to blow her up, but she very nearly outmaneuvered him with a masterfully played strategy that culminated in 3 tons’ worth (apparently) of floating rubble nearly smashing him to bits. But in the end he managed to defend himself with another explosive blast, and she was too worn out to continue.
Today on BnHA: Bakugou tries to get me to ship him and Ochako because he knows I’m weak. Ochako tries to make me cry because she knows I’m weak. They all fucking know. Fucking shit. Kirishima arm wrestles Tetsutetsu because this series gives the people what they want. Endeavor stalks Deku in a hallway and tells him to fight Todoroki seriously since it’ll be a good test of how Todoroki would fare against All Might. Deku is all FUCK YOUUUUUUU but not really, but basically though. Then Todoroki and Deku get ready to fight.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 82 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
“MIDORIYA AND ENDEAVOR”??!!!
Tumblr media
OHHH MANNN. LOL THIS WOULD NOT PAN OUT IN A NON-COVER SITUATION, THOUGH. SHOUTO WOULD HAVE HOPPED ON OVER TO ALL MIGHT AND DEKU’S SIDE IN A FLASH
Deku seems really distraught that Ochako lost
Present Mic seems even more distraught
Tumblr media
thank you Aizawa for keeping some semblance of impartiality
so now the first round is officially over and there’s going to be a short break before the quarterfinal round
I sure hope you’re ready, Deku. also, based on the title, maybe keep an eye out for Shouto’s psychotic dad who’s been making a habit of trolling people in the hallways today
OHO A WILD BAKUDEKU MOMENT APPEARS
Tumblr media
HAHAHA
I love how they both go “!” when they see each other
I also like the face Kacchan made for like .001 seconds before he shifted into the DOOM face
lastly, I love Deku congratulating him after a brief moment of hesitation. like, he didn’t have to do it -- in fact, oddly enough, he risked pissing him off by doing so -- but you can see he wanted to, or like at least didn’t feel right not doing it lol
and then he walks off like a total weirdo
EXCEPT HE DOESN’T MAKE IT VERY FAR BEFORE KACCHAN HOPS UP THE STAIRS AFTER HIM
THESE TWO NEVER LET ME DOWN
I’M TRYING NOT TO POST EVERY SINGLE PANEL OF THEM, BUT JUST. LOOK AT DEKU’S FUCKING FACE HERE
Tumblr media
anyway so now Deku, tell him that you didn’t suggest a damn thing. even though you tried to you sneaky sneak
and he is doing just that
giving her all of the credit. just like she fucking deserves
“so if it really was a lot of trouble for you... that was Uraraka”
and now Bakugou is dotting like he doesn’t quite believe it
Tumblr media
BELIEVE IT, BUSTER
AND DON’T FORGET HER NAME, EITHER
whew! back to the stadium! Bakugou, you better get out here too if you don’t want to miss your rivals’ deathmatch
everyone from class A is heckling him as usual
I like that none of them are really scared of him at all. he’s only been at the school for about a month, and you can already see the difference that it’s made
Kaminari is saying that Bakugou should have held back against “that frail little girl”
uh. were you not paying any attention at all to Aizawa’s speech in the last chapter my dude. come on man
BAKUGOUUUUUU
Tumblr media
LOOK, YOU. I CAN’T SHIP YOU AND OCHAKO BECAUSE I ALREADY SHIP HER AND IIDA, AND YOU AND DEKU, AND MAYBE TODOROKI IS CONFUSINGLY WEAVED IN THERE AS WELL, AND KIRISHIMA SEEMS TO BE VERY FOND OF YOU ALSO! ANYWAY I’M GETTING SIDETRACKED, BUT WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY IS THAT I SURE AS SHIT DO SHIP YOU GUYS AS FRIENDS, IF YOU EVER WERE SO INCLINED TO FEEL LIKE POSSIBLY MAKING A FRIEND, YOU OLD SOFTY
AND ALSO MAYBE I DO SHIP YOU ANYWAY GODDAMMIT
RESPECT WOMEN, EVERYONE!!! IF THIS ASSHOLE CAN DO IT SO EASILY NONE OF YOU OTHER FUCKING CHARACTERS HAVE ANY FUCKING EXCUSE
OCHAKO IS AWAKE!!
Recovery Girl has already healed the majority of her scrapes and burns/bruises! she’s so great
Ochako is also great
Tumblr media
“darn it!” omg. I fucking love you so much. you did so fucking great, please be proud. and you earned my asshole son’s respect, which you should know takes a whole fucking lot. he sure as shit doesn’t give that out to just anybody
moral of the story: all you have to do to earn Bakugou’s respect is nearly kill him
I’m glad Ochako’s not getting too down on herself, even though she’s disappointed! I mean, she should be a little disappointed, because if she wasn’t, it would mean she didn’t care at all and wouldn’t have a reason to keep pushing and improving for the next time. but like, she’s doing it productively and not getting all depressed and shit
ohhh! Present Mic’s voice is coming in over the loudspeakers! he’s talking about Kirishima versus Tetsutetsu! right -- I forgot all about them
lol are they really gonna arm wrestle? you know what it should be -- good old rock-paper-scissors
although now I have this mental image of the two of them just endlessly picking rock over and over again
anyways, they are indeed arm wrestling
AND KIRI CRUSHES HIM LIKE VELVET
Tumblr media
THAT’S MY BOYYYY
AWWW HE’S EXTENDING THE HAND OF SHOUNEN FRIENDSHIP
Tumblr media
LOOK AT THESE GOOD BOYS FORMING BONDS OF RESPECT IN THE SPRINGTIME OF THEIR YOUTH
ANYWAY. TIME TO DIE NOW, DEKU :’D
-- oh my god Ochako is calling her dad
I can’t handle this fucking shit
what the fuck are they trying to do giving me feels out of nowhere when I was unprepared and expecting to jump right into the Deku vs Todoroki fight for crying out loud
her parents are so proud and encouraging!
they’re saying it was really close. Ochako says it wasn’t. well, it wasn’t super close, but she put up a damn good fight and she nearly had him for just a moment
her parents are saying it’s not the end of the world and she can try again next year
they’re saying it’s no rush
oh my god Ochako
Tumblr media
then silence for a sec... then they say she doesn’t have to push herself just for them
fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Tumblr media
omg. what the fuck. like, I already love her?! so why do they keep...?!!!
I don’t know what else to do with these feelings about this girl lol. she tried so hard and did so well and she lost and she’s disappointed but her parents are so encouraging and she wanted to do well for them but they’re telling her it’s okay and just. I HAVE MENTIONED SEVERAL TIMES THAT KIDS TRYING HARD AND FAILING IS A TEAR TRIGGER FOR ME OKAY fucking shit. fuck. okay
whew. okay
fuck and Deku’s still within earshot. YOU SCOOT ALONG THERE, DEKU. LET HER BE. YOU HAVE A SAD BOY WITH DADDY ISSUES TO FIGHT
-- DEKU IF YOU CRY TOO I SWEAR TO GOD
-- HWHOWHKHL
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD THE DREADED HALLWAY ENCOUNTER AT LONG LAST
I GOT SO CAUGHT UP IN THE OCHAKO FEELS I COMPLETELY FORGOT AND I LET MY GUARD DOWN
Deku is freaking out
Tumblr media
this is the number two hero in the world, after all. he probably has so many notes about him. he probably would have asked him for his autograph just like he did when he first met All Might... if this encounter had taken place literally at any point before today
Endeavor is complimenting him on his quirk
“in terms of power, it seems on par with All Might’s.” hahaha. funny you should say that. what a funny coincidence huh
so is everybody and their fucking mom going to figure this out before this is all over, or
Deku is trying to storm off “innocently” and it’s just. the single most suspicious thing anyone has ever done
Tumblr media
also, I hadn’t thought about it before, but when he thinks to himself that he has to keep it secret from Endeavor more than anyone... yeah. just think about what this asshole would do if he knew it was possible to gain All Might’s quirk. look at what he’s already done to his own child(ren??) just in order to surpass him. not only is he a piece of shit, he’s a very scary and powerful piece of shit
speaking of him being a scary and powerful piece of shit
Tumblr media
welp
it’s amazing how he just goes and independently verifies everything Shouto already told Deku about him without being prompted. like if Deku had any doubts at all -- which of course he wouldn’t have, but if he did -- you have to assume that’d all be completely wiped away by this single page
he’s telling Deku to give it his all
well it’s not like he’d have any other choice, given how powerful Shouto is
now Endeavor’s walking away
but Deku is hitting him up with one of his trademark slightly-time-delayed Honest Shounen Responses!
“I’m not All Might...”
oh SNAP
Tumblr media
YEEEAAHHHHHH. SUCK IT ENDEAVOOOOOOR
I’ll say it again -- if and when Todoroki wins, it’ll be in spite of him, not because of him
now the kids are finally facing off in the ring!
Tumblr media
MY GOD but I love me a good fucking tournament arc :DDDDDDDD
BONUS:
Tumblr media
well if it isn’t Todoroki “fuck you” Enji
he’s 45 years old omg
-- then just how fucking old is All Might?!
after a moment’s consideration, I’m still willing to date All Might if he’s 45
also, he looks damn good for 45. if he really is 45
I’m glad he isn’t part of the U.A. faculty, seeing as he’s an irredeemable sack of shit and U.A. doesn’t need any more of those. bad enough we have to put up with Mineta
“I hope to eventually portray exactly why that is” no need. for some things there’s just no excuse. again, see: Mineta
(ETA: although I assume it’s actually because this superhero society is so systematically fucked up and prioritizes just about all of the wrong values. like, I get that, and I can understand how he ended up being such a garbage person. but it doesn’t excuse it, nor does it excuse his being an abusive father and husband not to mention a just-this-shy-of-confirmed rapist to boot.)
also I’m kind of mad that he’s so good-looking without his flame beard and mustache. I suppose Shouto had to get those looks from somewhere
also also, “he can switch them on and off but typically leaves them burning as a flashy show of power” -- exactly like Vongola Primo! how fitting, since Primo is also a giant sack of shit lol
yeah I’ll just end this recap right there on that sick Vongola Primo burn okay bye

Katchan is a Dumb, Oblivious Werewolf
I wrote a sequel to that silly Halloween fic I wrote last year.  This one takes place in their third year of UA.
Enjoy and Happy Halloween!
Izuku was already regretting his decision to follow his classmates.  A group of them had bailed on school, opting to try out a haunt that Kirishima had brought up.  They were all in their costumes, a silly decision made weeks ago to enjoy the holiday.  They stood out, he was sure, the lot of them walking the streets in their outfits.
They stood out like sore thumbs.  It would be easy for any adult to call them out for their truancy.  Even if most of them were technically adults themselves, they should still be in school.  Izuku should be in school.  How did he get talked into this?
And then Katsuki was looking back at him, grinning, reminding him of his taunting before. He had been challenged by him, not directly so much as him just saying he wouldn't be up to going.
Scared, Deku?  Just like when we were kids?
That was why he had come.  They had become friends again after a long road since first year, but there was still that bit of rivalry driving them on.
The small group of six was led by Kirishima.  He had heard of the haunt from someone in class 1-B (he assumed Tetsutetsu), and convinced them just before getting into the schoolyard.  He had been talking to Kaminari and Katsuki about it, convincing them to go off with him.  Izuku had just been walking up, and he only heard the tail end of it before he was called over and invited.
Despite the half-hearted argument Katsuki put up.
Izuku had declined at first.  Katsuki did a one-eighty, commenting that he was scared.  He had been confused, but he still rose to the bait, and agreed to go. Katsuki almost seemed pleased by that answer, though he quickly hid it away again, acting as if it was an inconvenience to them.
Kirishima nudged him, giving him a knowing look.  Kaminari just laughed.
What was going on with them?
They picked up Ashido and Uraraka on the way out.  They would have gotten more, as Kaminari said, but they didn't want to risk going on school grounds and getting caught.  So they left, Izuku in the back of the group with Uraraka, who seemed rather enthusiastic about the trip.
The thirty minute trek (which included a bus ride, how far out were they going?) brought them away from busy streets to secluded school building.  Izuku was put off at first, not sure what had led them this way.  But as they got closer, he noticed the state the building was in: it was falling apart, the disuse evident by more than the 'No Trespassing' sign on the gate.  The windows were broken out, the paint was peeling, and the grass had grown wild.
Was this where the haunt was?  Izuku couldn't hold the shudder that went through him.  How creepy...
He looked over at the others.  Katsuki's gaze was intent on the building, a slight smirk on his lips.  He seemed eager about all of this.
"So we just... go in?" Kaminari asked.
"Only if you aren't too chicken shit to."  Katsuki was already jumping over the gate.  Kirishima grinned and followed him without question.
Within a few moments, they were at the entrance to the school.  Were he feeling more brave, he would think about exploring the grounds.  Anything to keep away from the darkened doorways leading inside.  But when he looked around, he found various debris of desks and chairs and overgrown plant life everywhere.  There was nowhere else to go.
Nowhere else but inside.
"Nervous, Deku?"
Izuku rolled his eyes.  "I'm a hero, no silly haunted houses are going to get to me."
Katsuki only smirked.  Why was he so focused on him today?
"C'mon, Deku," Uraraka chirped.  She looped her arm with his, Ashido on her other arm.  They formed a line behind the other three and followed them in.
Somehow the locker area was almost pitch black.  The windows were covered in boards and paint.  There was a divider just beyond the foyer step.  There seemed to be a slit in the middle, probably were they would be going through.  And in front of it was an offering box, like at a Shinto shrine.
Something about it seemed oddly familiar.
"Do we just go or we wait?" Ashido asked Kirishima.
He shrugged in response.  "I was just told where it was, nothing more."
"Maybe this is the wrong?" Uraraka suggested.
Katsuki was looking over the box.  Izuku came to his side, a small smile on hi slips.  A wave of nostalgia had flooded over him.  He was thinking of when they were younger, when they spent so much time together, even during their ambiguous bully/friend stages of elementary school.  He thought of all the Halloweens they spent together, even if sometimes it was forced on them by their parents.
"Hey, Katchan," he said.  "Remember all those haunted houses you used to drag me to?  When we were kids?"
Katsuki scoffed.  "You mean the ones you followed me to?"  He was smirking, his teasing clearly good natured.
Izuku rolled his eyes, but still smiled.  "Oh, please, you never wanted to go alone to any of those."
"If that's the way you need to remember it, Deku."
Izuku laughed.  Even Katsuki had to chuckle.  It was nice to finally be at a point where they could talk so casually.  He felt at ease around Katsuki, and he thought it was the same for him.
Behind them, the others were discussing whether to go forward or turn back.  It seemed half on the side of staying and just exploring the building.  Kaminari and Ashido, though, were okay with just leaving and hanging out at a local mall. There was a consensus not to go back to school, but that was about all they agreed on.
Izuku looked at them over his shoulder, just listening to their conversation. Katsuki glanced back, but he didn't make any comment.  He fiddled with the nails on his wolf costume, almost like a nervous tick.
Katsuki had worn the outfit for Halloween off and on for years.  Izuku assumed it was for a similar reason he was wearing his ghost costume for the third year in a row: it was just easier to wear the same thing.  Why bother with a new costumer?  They were too busy training, anyway.
Well, that was his excuse, anyway.  Almost everyone else in the class had different outfits each year.  The only other one he knew not to be bothered with it was Todoroki, but he normally didn't even wear one.  It was the girls in the class that pulled him to the side and put makeup on him, but it worked for him better that way, it seemed.
They were quiet, both of them just standing over the box.  The others didn't bother them as they continued their discussion. For a moment, it felt like they were the only two there.
"...hey, Deku."
Izuku glanced over to him.  His brow was furrowed, and he was still staring at the box.  Something serious was on his mind, he could tell.
"Yeah, Katchan?"
"Do you... have you ever...?"
"Welcome, boys and girls!"
The whole group yelped and jumped back at the sudden appearance of a tall and thin man just behind the offering box.  He was dressed in a tattered suit that looked stained with age.  He seemed to be a teacher, or at least that's the way the outfit came off.  It was a little off-putting with his pale makeup with bright cheeks and a wide grin.
Izuku thought he looked familiar, he just couldn't place it...
"Were you there the entire time?" Uraraka asked incredulously.
The man ignored her question.  "Shouldn't you all be in school?"
"And miss this?" The excitement was clear in Kirishima's voice.
The man's grin grew.  "Well, how can I say 'no' then."  He gestured to the box, and said, "You can go in after you leave an offering to the spirits here."
It was clear that was just a set-up.  No one called it on him, though.
He held up two fingers.  "But you can only go in, two at a time."
There was a couple of groans among the teens.  Izuku looked over his shoulder at Uraraka, opening his mouth to ask for her companionship, when he felt a shove from his side.  He glanced over to find Kaminari nudging him closer to the offering box.
"Midoriya, you go with Bakugou," he insisted.
Izuku held an expression of confusion.  "What? Why?"
Katsuki looked over at Kaminari, his brow furrowed.  Both Kaminari and Kirishima were nudging them on with wide grins. Izuku looked back at Uraraka and Ashido, but they both shrugged it off.  His friend only mouthed it's fine to him.
"Let's just get through this," Katsuki growled.  He pulled out a yen piece and tossed it into the box.
Izuku sighed and followed suit.  The man watched as the coins fell into the box and settled at the bottom.  He looked at the two youths, the corners of his mouth upturned to his ears.  He stepped to the side, revealing the slit in the divider.
"Right this way, boys," he called.
Izuku stepped forward first, expecting Katsuki to be right behind.  He hadn't, though, hanging back to whisper harshly to his friends.  He only barely caught the exchange.
"...thinking," Katsuki all but snarled.
"Don't complain," Kirishima insisted.  "This is exactly what you were talking about."
"The hell it is."
"Just go," Kaminari ushered.  "Give it a shot."
Katsuki let out a huff through his nose.  For a moment, he reminded Izuku more of a bull than a wolf.
"Katchan?"
Katsuki turned and came to his side.  "Let's go, nerd."
"Katchan, what are you--?"
"Leave it, Deku."  He was pushing past him and into the other side of the divider.  Izuku frowned but followed close behind.
The curator watched them as they went, his odd smile still in place.  He moved to cover the hole as they passed into the other part of the foyer.  It was even darker on this side.  The only light was a path on the ground made by cheap flameless green tea lights.  It led on down the hallway and just beyond their sight.
"Follow the lights," they were told.  "Be mindful of your steps.  How long it takes is up to you.  You'll be going through the whole school."
Izuku nodded his understanding.  Beside him, Katsuki fidgeted.
"Have fun, boys," he said.  "And this time should be much more... interesting."
Izuku blinked.  What did he mean by that?
He gave a start when his wrist was grabbed and pull on.  Katsuki's grip was tight as he dragged him down the corridor along the green lit path.  He objected to the treatment, but he didn't pull away and instead let himself be led.
Katsuki's hand was warm, he thought.  And not too unpleasant.  Not that he would mention that out loud.
Izuku glanced over his shoulder, and as they went further down the hallway, he noticed the beginning part of the path changed from the sickly green colour to a dim glow of orange that led in a different way.  He guessed it was the path the new two would go down, so there wouldn't be much of a wait.
Katsuki's step was purposeful as he led them.  He didn't let go of Izuku, but he wasn't really pulling either.  Izuku was able to keep up with his only somewhat rushed step.  He couldn't see him too well in the lighting, but he could still see the way his jaw was tight.
"What is it?"
"This place is going to be lame," he answered.  "Probably full of paper bats and shit."
"What makes you say that?  The set-up is actually pretty—"
Izuku was interrupted as Katsuki suddenly went still.  He ran into him, their bodies bumping.  Izuku stumbled back, thrown off by the hard boy.  Katsuki hadn't let go, instead pulling him back so he didn't fall.
"You didn't recognise him, did you?"  The lights came from underneath, leaving an odd glove over the fur glued to his jawline.
He would be cute with a beard, came the thought.  Izuku shook his head, both as an answer, and also to get the image out of his head.
"Should I?" Izuku asked.  "It's not some villain, is it?"
He furrowed his brow.  He didn't remember hearing anyone that fit his description over any police reports, but he had been focused on Shizuoka more lately.  But he should still be able to recognise a bad guy, right?  Should they go back?  It shouldn't be hard to subdue him.  Even if the others were too far away, he had Katsuki.  The two of them were unstoppable, they'd shown that many times before.  They could easily—
"Deku."
Izuku looked up as Katsuki was pulling his hand away from his mouth.  He'd been muttering, he could tell by Katsuki's expression and the lingering feeling of teeth on his thumb.
"We've been to one of this guy's haunts before."
Izuku gave him a slightly confused look.  "We have?"
Katsuki frowned.  Even in the lowlight, Izuku could tell he was disappointed.
"Let's just get through this."
Izuku felt a coldness as Katsuki fully let go of him and started to walk down the path. He watched him go, the tail of his costume almost showing the slight dejection he had seen on his face with the lifeless sway.
What was going on with him?  It hadn't been the first time he thought about it that day, and he didn't think it would be the last.
The two fell into a tense silence as they continued between the green lights. Izuku's eyes never left his back, using him as a guide more than the path.  He almost wanted to reach out, to get led by his warm hand once more, but Katsuki seemed too distant to reclaim the past moment.
The lights led them to a courtyard outside.  Izuku had expected some of the sunlight from the day outside, but the courtyard had been boxed in up top.  There were several sheets of cloth stretched out from the highest floor windows, thick and plentiful enough to block out the sun.  There were little lights in the trees, not really a lot, but enough to see all the windows in the upper halls and classrooms had been painted black.
It was more atmospheric than anything else.  The subtle lights were more of an eerie beauty than anything scary.  Izuku found himself in the middle of the courtyard, admiring the foliage.  Next to him was a fountain, running slowly.  There were more dim lights in the bottom, making a beautiful cascade.
Katsuki didn't rush him.  He didn't even say anything as he waited for him, sitting on the edge of the fountain. When Izuku was done looking, he turned to announce he was ready to move on, only to find eyes looking back at him. He started at Katsuki's intense look, and he averted his gaze, a blush creeping up.
How long had he been staring at him?  What with that look?
"Let's move on..."
Katsuki stood and moved down the lit path to the double doors across the way they had come.  Izuku fell in step, close to him.  He eyed his hand and the fake nails pressed onto it.  He thought of how even when he grabbed his wrist earlier, he hadn't felt them. Katsuki been mindful enough not to hurt him even when it was clear he was frustrated.
He remembered how he was the same way when they were kids.  Even when he was dragging him around, yelling at him for some perceived inconvenience, his hold was thoughtful and never hurt.  They used to hold hands so much...
Would it be weird to hold hands now?
"Did you need a moment?"
Izuku blinked.  He looked up to find Katsuki too close, his eyes intent on him.  He hadn't realised their proximity, so lost in thought and memory. But now his warmth was everywhere around him.  Katsuki was always so warm, his skin always radiating heat.  He had known it since they were little, but it meant something different as they had gotten older.
Everything was different now they were older.  Everything looked the same but meant something else.
It would mean something else if they held hands now than when they were little.
Izuku shook his head.  "No, we can go on."
Katsuki shrugged.  He came back to the door and reached out for it.  As his hand connected with the handle, the whole courtyard plunged into complete darkness.  Katsuki cursed and Izuku made a startled noise.
He pulled his hand back, unnoticed by Katsuki before he could reach his.
Izuku looked back over the courtyard, though he couldn't see anything.  It was a little spooky, he thought, but nothing really worth fretting over.  He turned to Katsuki, waiting for him to open the door and go to the next room.  All he heard was the door rattle.
"Katchan?"
"The door's locked."
"What?"
The door rattled again.  Silence. Izuku gave a start when he felt warmth on his arm.  Katsuki's grip was light on his forearm but was still leading.  He pulled him away from the door and back into the courtyard.
"Some gimmick."
Izuku would agree if something about the dark made him apprehensive.  There was no reason to be so nervous, though: it was just a haunt, there was nothing to worry about.  But the air still had him on edge, and he was silently grateful that Katsuki was holding onto him.  It was silly, but that was the point of haunts, right?  Being scared was part of the whole experience.
He remembered the ones he went to when they were kids.  He remembered being so scared sometimes that he almost couldn't be removed from Katsuki.  He was terrified in the moment, but when they were done, he felt excitement.  He enjoyed it, if only after the fact, and he knew part of it was because he had his 'hero' with him to protect him.
Now that hero was with him again, but he was a hero, too.  That meant he wasn't allowed to cling to him anymore, doesn't it? Something about that was disappointing. He felt that took out some of the fun of the whole thing.
"Katchan."  He moved closer to him, navigated by his body heat.  He wasn't pushed away: if anything, Katsuki seemed to move into him. He let go of his arm and bumped shoulders with him.
"Hold on."
Izuku nodded.  He twitched, feeling something on his hand.  He scratched at the tiny sensations, and he could have sworn he felt something under his fingers.
A large flash filled the courtyard in front of them, coming from Katsuki's outstretched hand (the one not so close to Izuku he had subconsciously grabbed onto).  The area lit up and showed the fountain, though something was off about it.  There were also little flecks in the air, something Izuku couldn't place.
Katsuki pulled him forward, guiding him toward the middle of the courtyard.  By now, Izuku's hands were holding onto his bicep, using it as a lead as he moved them.  Katsuki was always better at seeing in the dark than he was.  He didn't pull away, keeping him close as the sound of the fountain got closer.
Izuku scratched at his neck.  Then his arm. Then his face.  It felt like something was crawling on every part of exposed skin.
"Do you feel that?"
He could hear Katsuki scratch at himself.  "Don't worry about it."
Izuku frowned.  What was the point of all this?  Was it to scare them?  What were the other rooms going to be like?
There was a loud click that drew his attention back to the fountain.  There was a pause and then the light came back, but this time the lights were red.  The water seemed thicker, flowing just a bit slower, and it looked more opaque than before. There were large flecks of something in the water, but he couldn't make it out what it was.
Another itch on his arm.  Another scratch.
The lights in the courtyard slowly started to return, illuminating the boxed in area with more light than before.  He found the flecks everywhere, on the trees, the fountain, the ground, the air. He squinted, trying to see what they were.  As the light came up more, he could see something protruding from each. Legs?  Yes, those were legs...
"I think these are—"
"Yeah, but are they real?"  Katsuki scratched him again.
Izuku flinched at another tickle on his neck.  He swatted at it, but he didn't want to know what caused the sensation. His eyes fell to Katsuki, but he was looking into the fountain, his brow furrowed.  Izuku followed his gaze.  In this light, the fountain almost looked like it was over-pouring with blood.
He almost opened his mouth to ask, when he caught the movement.  Something just beneath the waters.  Ripple after ripple...  And coming close to the edge.  The water divided, and a scaled hand came from underneath the surface. The hand turned into an arm, then a shoulder.  More and more of the body was coming up.
It was almost a distraction from the continued itch of the bugs in the air.
Katsuki grit his teeth and readied his hand.  As a spark started, the lights went out again.  The body had only started to emerge when it was hidden in darkness again.  Katsuki cursed and a small flash came his still outstretched palm.
Izuku looked around, trying to see more, though he couldn't in the darkness.  Nut until the path of green lit up once more, this time leading down another path.  The itching let up as the lights came on.
A misdirect.  Of course.
There was another spark from Katsuki's hand.  Izuku rolled his eyes and grabbed at his wrist.  He let out a confused growl and started to question what was happening.  Izuku led him on, dragging him down the new path.
"What—"
"This way," Izuku said as they came to another door.  He pushed on it, and it easily gave way.  There was a loud wail from the direction of the fountain as the door was opened.  Izuku dragged them both over the threshold, silencing the cry as the door closed behind them.
The corridor they came into was a little better lit with the green light.  Izuku was able to see Katsuki a lot better than before.  He was glaring, his jaw locked tight.
"What the hell do you think—?"
"It's supposed to be scary, right?" Izuku interrupted. "Supposed to have you on edge, all of that?"
It was a moment more before it seemed to register what he was being told.  His brow was still furrowed, but his expression came more mortified.  He said nothing, only scoffed.
Izuku chuckled.  "You were ready to attack, weren't you?"
"Listen—"
"Were you trying to defend me?"
Katsuki was taken aback by the question.  Even in the green light, he could tell Katsuki was blushing.
Izuku smiled.  "You used to do that when we were little."
Katsuki was quiet for a long moment.  He seemed to be thinking hard on something.  "...do you remember the hero's reward?"
It was Izuku's turn to blush.  He did remember what he used to call the 'hero's reward.'  Though he only did it a few times for the few times Katsuki let down his arrogant façade to be his hero again, he could recall how important it was to him.  He also remembered Katsuki waiting for it, even if he verbally said his disdain for the action.
Izuku nodded, his expression soft.  "I remember."
There was a pause where neither said anything and only barely looking at each other. Katsuki was the first to move, muttering something under his breath.  He went to move around him, and get back onto the path of green lights.
He stopped when Izuku reached out for him, pulling on his sleeve.  Katsuki looked back at him, brow raised.  Izuku was quiet as he moved in to kiss his cheek.
Katsuki closed his eyes and sighed, a light smile on his lips.
Izuku didn't move at first, staying close.  Before he could, Katsuki had put his hand on his cheek.  He leaned in, and he watched as Katsuki came closer.  He closed his eyes just as dried lips touched his. He held in his breath for all of a moment, and then Katsuki was pulling away.
"Katchan...?"
"For stopping me," Katsuki said, "before I blew some dumb show worker."
Izuku grinned and nodded.  "Of course."
He looked over his shoulder, down the hall, then back to Izuku.  "Ready?"
Izuku glanced down the row of green lights.  "Only way out is through, right?"
"Unless you want to see who was taking a swim."
Izuku snorted.  "Not really."
"The let's get going," Katsuki said, shoving his hands in his pockets and turning.
Katsuki had started down the hallway, but stopped when Izuku called his name.  He looked back at him, brow raised.
"...can I hold your hand?"
Katsuki huffed.  "Stupid nerd," he said.  "Shouldn't come if you get so scared."
He still removed a hand from his pocket, one that Izuku took with a laugh and a smile.
