Kiyotaka Ishimaru - AMAZING CHARACTER, I LOVE HIM SO MUCH, LITERALLY KIN HIM SO MUCH, love the VA, hated his death and trial. - 10/10

Mondo Owada - He's also the best, I love his design, his character, his VA, his motive, his trial, his execution was kinda.... BUT I STILL LOVE MONDO - 10/10

Sonia Nevermind - She's so funny and her ftes are great! So good and love her in trials. Great VA, sondam is awesome. - 9/10

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu - Great Ch.Development after chp2 love him so much. - 9/10

Gundham Tanaka - I love him SO MUCH he's amazing and funny and his execution made me cry alot. Sondam for life - 9/10

39. Mukuro Ikusaba - Wish she was in THH longer! OMG FAKE-JUNKO WAS SO COOL! Didn't see enough of her to rate higher. - 5.6/10

40. Izuru Kamakura - Cool concept, overrated tho- 5.5/10

41. Junko Enoshima - Cool ch. shit motive. Killed my faves- 5.3/10

43. Usami/Monomi - Cute mascot but I skipped her ALL of her dialogue because she annoyed TF out of me. - 5.1/10

44. Tsumugi Shirogane - GREAT VA but, I kinda don't know what to think about her. - 5.1/10

45. Yasuhiro Hagakure - A bit of a silly-billy, I dunno how he survived. He's closer to like than dislike tho. 5/10

46. Kirumi Tojo - She has the same VA as Hiyoko. HOW. Anyways, talented VA, cool execution, wish we got to see more of her tho. 5/10

47. Monodam - Apparently not as bad at the other ones? Byakuyas VA- 5/10

48. Angie Yonaga - PRETTY DESIGN, GREAT VA, still not sure about her tho tbh... 4.6/10

49. Mahiru Koizumi - Boring, annoying, complains alot tbh, had great potential which wasn't used well. - 4.4/10

50. Teruteru Hanamura - Kinda... interesting. Surprisingly humane motive. I actually prefer him to Mahiru now... 4.3/10 (changed to 4.5/10)

51. Miu Iruma - There's alot to say about this girl... uh... 4.2/10

52. Hiyoko Saionji - Insufferable. I hate her, WHINY AND ANNOYING, I skipped all her dialogue. 3/10

53. Hifumi Yamada - I hate him, but I put him in this category bc why not. Skipped all of his dialogue, he annoyed me so much. I ignored him. He killed Taka for no reason. 2.5/10 because he was helpful in one trial.

HATE:

All the Monokubs, except I forgot their names. Incest weirdos, no point in the whole thing. 2/10

So I’ve always been more of an UnderTale centric blog, but I’m also in the Danganronpa fandom.

(Yes yes, Danganronpa, UnderTale, Kayne West, Fingers, MOVING ON!)

So I was looking at V3’s cast, and I thought to myself “hey! Shuichi is kinda like a Makoto/Kirigiri fusion.” And more than once I’ve seen AUs where Shuichi is there kid.

Then I thought of something. “Oh my god... are ALL the V3 members fusions?!”

And if you do the math, it adds up. 32 students from the first two games, 16 in V3.

So I went to work trying to determine if this theory bore any real fruit and started pairing characters (in a non romantic sense, this isn’t some big shipping post). When it came to determining these fusions, I focused on a few different traits for each character. For some it was their talent, others it was their personality traits, and sometimes it was both.

Some fusions admittedly make more sense than others, but I’m going to send each fusion and my reasoning for them.

Starting with Shuichi, who is a fusion of Makoto and Kyoko. (Side note, I’ll be sticking to everyone’s first names.) So the parts he got from Kyoko are pretty obvious, they’re both detectives and emo. From Makoto though, he gets the role of protagonist as well as a good amount of Makoto’s “good boy energy” or G.B.E. for short.

Next we’ve got Kaede, a Sayaka and Aoi fusion. Kaede and Sayaka have a few things in common. Their personalities are both cheerful, they’ve both got musical talents, they both wanted everyone to be friends, and they both jumped the gun and got themselves killed. Yeah... as for Aoi... uh... yeah this was one of those “I don’t really know where to put you so I’ll put you here” scenarios. I mean, Aoi ALSO kind of jumped the gun and almost got everyone killed, which is why I chose to put her in the Kaede fusion pair.

After our protagonists, who better than the rival? Kokichi’s fusion is easily one of if not the least surprising. He’s a fusion of Nagito and Byakuya. Like Nagito, he’s completely insane, obsesses over something (in his case lies) and he sacrifices himself in chapter 5, though for a relatively more selfless cause then Nagito. Keyword being relatively.

On the other end of the spectrum is Kaito, a fusion between Nekomaru and Yasuhiro. Hiro’s inspiration is pretty obvious once you think about it. There’s the jacket and it’s abnormal way of being worn, the airheadedness, and they both have space relations. (Didn’t aliens steal Hiro’s burger or something?) As for Nekomaru, well, it’s obvious right? He was a constant pillar of support for his friends and did exercises with Shuichi and Makinto help them both physically and mentally.

Speaking of Maki, she’s a Mukuro and Hiyoko fusion. Yeah, that’s a weird one right? Well here me out. The Mukuro part is obvious enough, she’s a solider and Maki is an assassin, each having a murder related talent, plus they both fell for lovable dorks. Hiyoko is another situation like Aoi unfortunately. The only common ground I could find was that Maki is kinda short and pretty mean at times. (Her talent could’ve been the Ultimate Tsundere tbh)

On the topic of short girls, Himiko is a Chihiro and Ibuki fusion. Yeah... definitely a weird one there. Chihiro has two main things that lead me to one conclusion. One is they’re both pretty meek except for when it comes to their talent. The other thing was that Chihiro was a tech wiz. Eh... get it, wiz? Right, moving on...

K1-B0 is a Hajime/Chiaki fusion. Like Chiaki, Kiibo is an artificial being, and then there’s the connections to Hajime. Both were evil versions of the Ultimate Hope, albeit unintentionally, and while Kiibo also has loads of G.B.E. he can also tap into his inner Hajime and be sassy as heck. Plus there was their problems revolving around their talents. Hajime wanting to prove he had a talent and K1-B0 wanting to prove his talent was useful, despite his numerous physical setbacks like being weaker and having worse eyesight than the average human.

Next is Tsumugi. Ah Tsumugi, at first I wanted to fuse Junko with Hifumi to make her, combining the Mastermind aspect of Junko with the weebiness of Hifumi. Then I realized that there was a more obvious fit. Twogami and his imposter talent practically mirror’s Tsumugi’s Cosplay talent. End result: Tsumugi is a Junko/Twogami fusion!

Rantaro is...uh... a Kiyotaka/Leon fusion...? Yeah I honestly didn’t know who to put with this guy and these two were just kinda there. I mean, Leon is a “ladies man” and I think Rantaro gave that vibe off? As for Taka, I would just look at him, and then Rantaro, and day to myself “yeah, that fits” for no real reason. Like, there were no grounds for my argument and even so! *sigh* moving on...

Ryoma is Fuyuhiko and Akane. This one kinda makes sense. Ryoma and Fuyuhiko are both smol men with baby faces that can be scary when they want to, and Ryoma and Akane both had it rough prior to school. Yeah I’m not too good with this one either.

Back to more realistic fusions, Kirumi is a Celestia/Peko fusion. Celeste’s goth aesthetic plus Peko’s unwavering sense of duty merge and that’s basically Kirumi in a nutshell.

Angie is Sonia and Hifumi. Angie and Hifumi are both artists, simple as that, and just as Sonia was the ruler of her country, Angie was basically the one running hers, not to mention they were both really weird.

I don’t like Tenko so I’ll make this fast. Mondo and Mahiru. I heard Mondo is supposed to represent toxic masculinity (but he’s portrayed in a way that makes his character GOOD!) and then there’s Mahiru with her constantly getting on guys’ case telling them that they should be doing all these things for no reason other than their gender. Put the two together and you get Tenko and her screaming about “Degenerate males” every five minutes. For someone who hates guys so much, she sure seems to talk about them a lot...

Korekiyo was one that was so obvious I kicked myself for not figuring it out sooner. Mikan and Touko. Touko’s split personality is the same as Kiyo being “possessed” by his sister, and his relationship with his sister mirrors Mikan’s relationship with Junko. Yeah, some dark basis for fusion reasoning, but it works.

Miu. Teruteru’s perverted personality meets Kazuichi’s technological prowess. Nuff said.

And last, but far from least is Gonta. He stronk and noble like Sakura, both sacrificing themselves doing what they believed was right, and he’s good with animals like Gundam.

WOW this took forever to write. Please comment or reblog with your opinions on this theory. How reliable is it? Should I switch some fusions around? Why? I take constructive criticism in stride.

Mystery prompt 17 for Korekiyo x male s/o?

There is quite a few number 17's in my inbox tbh. Not complaining just saying.

17: Motive with Korekiyo and male S/O

You got a motive video that wasn't yours so it was pretty confusing...

But even if you wanted to see someone you care about you just need to look at Korekiyo.

Of course it's just a joke since you really miss some people from the outside. But you know it's better that you didn't watch it.

Sometime later when you met up with Korekiyo you noticed that Gonta looked a bit threatening and was coming after the two of you.

You were hella confused but it was no time to think and it was time to run.

Needless to say both of you were captured.

You woke up in Gonta's lab. Korekiyo was beside you asking how you were feeling.

After you made sure nothing was wrong you waited for explanation of this whole situation...

In the meantime Korekiyo told you something important wich was the fact that he had your video. He watched it and asked if you wanted to know what happened there.

Before you could answer however nightmare began with whole insect meet and greet.

It was pretty horrible but you and Korekiyo got through it.

And when it was over and you and Korekiyo got back to your dorms he asked again about it since you didn't got to answer earlier.

(if you don't want to) You think it's for the better that you don't know what is happening on your video so you politely declined his offer. He fully understood it.

(if you want to) Now that you think about it you did wanted to know who was it and what that video was showing. Of course since Kokichi took all monopads you couldn't see it for yourself but Korekiyo did tell you what he saw. And the description perfectly suited for (relative/friend)! And after he told you what happened in the end you couldn't belive your ears. Before you could react in any way Korekiyo hugged you closely and told you that no matter what he will be here for you.

V3 is Sexist and Here's Why

Heyo! Here are my reasons for why I consider NDRV3 to be the most sexist installment of the DR series.

They fridged Kaede who was introduced as a promising and compelling protagonist in favor of her male love interest; another generic boy that the series loves to play as. It also sucks since Kaede ends up being remembered only as Saihara's love interest who care about him rather then a genuine leader who was morally gray.

Maki's characterization was inconsistent and cliche. A brooding tsundere who had a horrible life and it's only after a guy forces his way into her life does she learn to regain her humanity. Although Chapter 5 says that Maki managed to change for the better, her actions proved that she didn't changed at all consider that she was willing to kill everyone for the sake of her love interest. But everyone just brushes it off since she was just a girl who had fallen in love. Not to mention how her character development revolved only around Kaito.

Iruma was written in the hopes of making her as dislikable as possible. This is leads to unfortunate implications since she represents all the qualities that Japanese society disapproves of for women to be. (Being loud, prideful, sexually active, vulgar, having a talent that defies gender roles). Plus it's really messed up how she turns into a fragile, pathetic mess whenever someone yells at her or throws an insult at her.

Toujo and Angie both had interesting plotlines and characterizations (Toujo revealing to be a prime minister and wanting to kill for the needs of the many, Angie using her cult as a means of protecting the students while also having a selfish side) but they're instantly forgotten once they're killed off. Plus Angie's characterization and backstory is filled with racist writing.

Tenko was written to be a man-hating and obsessive lesbian-coded character who made some disturbing statements about how all men should die. (If they made it so that she wanted another minority group to perish, then you can tell that she would have gotten worse hate). And her constantly coddling Himiko, basically reducing her to a pet animal, was honestly super creepy. It also sucks that she was also revealed to have followed this creed because her master (a man) told her to.

Tsumugi and Himiko were okay regarding their roles and characterization, but they could have been done better.

And those are the reasons for the girls. And on the opposite side of the gender spectrum, there are noticeably more guys who are heavily involved and proactive in the actual storyline compared to the girls.

Saihara gets the privilege of playing as the POV Protagonist for a majority of the game and gets all the attention from the narrative and the characters. He even gets credited as the one who 'ends' Dangan Ronpa.

Ouma is the rival character and fits perfectly well with the truth vs. lies theme of the game. He has a constant presence in most of the chapters; either by helping the other players using clues and tricks to figure out the cases, or by terrorizing them with the dark and twisted truths of the game. It all comes into fruition when he manages to halt the killing game by claiming himself to be the mastermind.

While Kaito is only a supporting character, he still has a huge influence in the game because of how much he cares and roots for Saihara. He also serves as a thematic foil to Ouma as the two constantly clash over their ideals and actions. He has the most spotlight and most of the V3 kids admit that Kaito is important to them.  And there's also how he led the unsolvable murder scheme in Chapter 5.

Kiibo is technically important later on when it's revealed that he was the audience surrogate of the game. And he is also credited for officially ending/destroying Dangan Ronpa.

Amami also gets more recognition because of his role as the SHSL Survivor which ties in to the dynamics of the series and how it works.

While Hoshi, Shinguuji and Gonta aren't as involved, it still stands that there have been more guys who were actively involved in the storyline along with fitting the theme of truth vs lies in comparison to the girls.

And actually, i would like to disagree with you on Sakura. 

Despite being referred to as an ogre, she was honestly one of the best written girl characters in the series. 

She had a unique design that wasn't conventionally attractive like the other girls. 

She has the title of World's Strongest Fighter and she has a calm and honorable personality with a heart of gold.

She could have easily broken any of her classmates for insulting her, but she doesn't. She always maintains her cool. The only time she threatened violence was when any of them harmed her friends (Asahina).

She made an honorable sacrifice by killing herself to save her friends. Both the survivors and the narrative acknowledge this by showing the original 6 making more of an effort to work together to end the killing game. They honestly wouldn't have gotten as far if it wasn't for her.

That's why I consider her to be a girl character who was written exceptionally well.

I strongly agree with all of these points!! The protag switch off is kinda iffy for me because while I recognize that it switched from strong female lead to male, I liked it as a plot twist. Still disappointing that they just killed her off for a shitty plot device and then didn't do anything to compensate for it. The girls kinda feel like they were thrown to the side tbh... I don't disagree with you though, and they did kind of just make her into a martyr and not the significant character she could have been. I feel like dr does that a lot with dead characters >:T

Also, when I say Sakura deserved better I meant that she shouldn't have been treated as a gag character or like her being strong was weird. It's like what you said about Miu in a way. I didn't mean that Sakura herself was bad or anything, I meant that it really bugged me when they made a joke out of her and then kind of forgot her after the trial even if they used the key she left behind. She literally sacrificed herself for them and nobody even really apologized properly to my recollection? Kinda wack.

After you explained to Gonta who Tuxedo Mask was (and even showed him a few episodes) he was so excited

Gonta plays around with his cape excitedly as you got changed

When you finished he can’t help but pull you into a big hug

Kokichi Ouma

He is super excited and coming up with tons of costume ideas

(Some of which.. you have to immediately shot down)

After you two spend some time bouncing around some ideas you both had something you both enjoyed

He was (what else) but a Devil, with a cloak and pitchfork and even small bat-like wings

(He didn’t want to wear a mask though so he used red face paint instead)

(He whined the entire time you painted his face)

While you were an Angel with huge white wings that could get a bit annoying but Ouma enjoyed them so you could deal with it

And everyone agreed that your guys costumes made perfect sense

Ryoma Hoshi

It was hard to find a costume for Ryoma for.. various reasons

(Mostly because if you wanted to get a costume for him you would have to shop in the kid’s section.. which embarrassed him to no end)

It took a while but eventually he cave in and said yes to a couple costume

(Which caused you to let out an excited squeal and hug him)

It took a little bit of trial and error before you two found a costume that you both enjoyed

(And lot’s of embarrassing trips to different stores where they ask what costumes are you looking for your son)

Everyone was surprised to see you at the party in a Red Riding Hood costume with a long and flowing cloak

And when they asked where Ryoma was he would pop out from under your cloak dressed up as a Wolf

(He did give quite a few people a scare)

(If anyone tried to say anything about why he got his costume was he would glare darkly at them while clinging to your leg) 

Korekiyo Shinguji

He was rather intrigued by Halloween

The differences of Halloween then and now are rather surprising

So when you said you wanted to dress up together as a couple he simply nodded and helped you search

In the end you two came up with a rather unique couple costume that you two had to kinda make yourselves

He was a Shinshoku (a male Shinto shrine maiden) and you were a Kitsune

(He still wore his mask of course)

(Though with how long Korekiyo’s hair was it was rather easy to mistake him as a shrine maiden)

(It took forever for you to make your costume and decide on makeup.. thank god for the internet)

You two got plenty of compliments on your guys’ costume which made you both smile

Shuichi Saihara

He was rather embarrassed to dress up for the party

But you were so excited for it that he couldn’t say no

You noticed his embarrassment and decided to go with a simple costume

A simple role reversal if you will

You walked in dressed as a stereotypical Detective, wearing his hat

(And not the sexy one a regular detective.. i think Saihara would die if he saw you in one of those)

And by your side was Saihara dressed as a stereotypical Prisoner, with fake handcuffs and all

Which earned a small laugh from everyone else

And while Saihara was embarrassed.. he had fun

(Though he did blush when Iruma made a certain comment about the handcuffs)

Kiibo

It was kinda hard to find a costume for him tbh

Since it would have to go over his armor.. and paint would be a tad difficult to get off of him

But you were determined to find a costume for him!

In the end you two decided a simple costume would be best

He was a knight (in literally) shining armor and you were his prince/ess

He was the one to suggest the idea actually, he had a soft spot for this type of cliche

He blushed immediately when you got into your costume and when you questioned him he looked down embarrassed

“I-it’s just that… y-you look so beautiful in that outfit.. like.. straight out of a fairy tale.” 

Which made you blush and give him a peck on the cheek

He had tons of ideas to talk to you about

And you and him decided to do a classic couple costume but with a twist

So when he walked in dressed in a fancy golden vest with a rose in his pocket people were slightly confused

What was he suppose to be

And then you walked in and suddenly it all made sense

He was male Belle and you were the Beast

(Rantaro really outdid himself with the make up on you to make you look more beastly)

When people ask you why you chose to be the Beast you simply said, “I mean look at Rantaro there is no way be could be anything but Beauty right?”

And you two had so much fun at the party and danced the night away

He immediately knew what he wanted you guys to be

He just had to convince you to wear full body green body paint…

It took him a while to convince you but when you agreed he couldn’t help but pull you into a kiss

The day of the party you both to wake up a bit early to start on your makeup

It was all worth it though to see Kaito’s happy expression

After you were done with your makeup he got ready himself

 Your guys’ couple costume was a bit of a surprise to everyone but it made sense once you actually thought about it

Kaito was Starlord while you were Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy

(You can not tell me that Kaito wouldn’t be a huge fan of the series)

Kaito took tons of selfies of you two in full costume

(And Tsumigi took ton of pictures of you two because your guys’ cosplays were just amazing!)
