so the good place is widely lauded on this site for its takes on morality and capitalism, which i totally agree with
but i think it should get more recognition for the line "all humans are aware of death. so we're all a little bit sad all the time. that's just the deal. we don't get offered any better ones. and if you try and ignore your sadness, it just ends up leaking out of you anyway. i've been there, and everybody's been there. so don't fight it. in the words of a very wise bed bath and beyond employee i once knew - go ahead and cry all you want. but you're gonna have to pay for that toilet plunger."

Wait, Little Rabbit! (Part 3)
fluff, angst, smut
Bunny Hybrid (Fem) Reader x Human Seokjin x Dog Hybrids Jimin and Hoseok x Cat Hybrid Yoongi x Wolf Hybrids Namjoon, Taehyung, & Jungkook
NSFW. 18+
Part 1 > Part 2 > Part 3 > Part 4
Summary: You, a meek little bunny hybrid, find family amongst six predator hybrids and their lovely human caretaker.
Warnings: mfm threesome, dom and sub dynamics, oral (f. and m. receiving), vaginal penetration, some nipple play and a boob-obsessed Tae, lots of sexual tension, teasing, cockblocking lol, grinding while making out, walking in on sexy times, y/n’s still grieving the loss of her old owner, brief mention of hybrid abuse and hunting
____
Two more weeks go by and you become determined to find a hobby, jealous of how passionate the other hybrids are with theirs. You’d never thought about having one much, you’d just hop around and keep your elderly caretaker company all day; you didn’t need a hobby when your days were consumed by taking care of her. But being here, you’ve started envying everyone else for having one: Hobi with his dancing, Namjoon and books, Yoongi’s interior design passion projects, Taehyung and art, Jungkook’s gaming, and Jimin’s ungodly obsession with everything related to Haikyuu!!. Out of everyone’s interests, the only one that really calls out to you is Taehyung’s. You’ve always admired the paintings your old caretaker hung on her walls, but you’d never thought of making anything yourself. That all changes once Taehyung shows you his paintings and asks if you want to give it a try. You’re reluctant at first, telling him you prefer to just watch him do his thing. So that’s exactly what you do, watch as he lays layer after layer of carefree strokes on a giant canvas. You’re amazed at his ability to make such decisive, big strokes—each adding more color and shapes. The whole process is just so pretty; you can’t help but pull your body closer in anticipation of his next move. That’s when he practically forces a paintbrush in your hand and gives you an encouraging look.
“I don’t want to ruin what you’ve created”
“This isn’t the type of painting you can ruin silly, the more you add the cooler and more abstract it looks. Don’t think, just paint.”
And so you comply, dipping the small flat brush into a bright crimson and imitating the brush strokes you watched him do. His little nods of approval give you confidence to go in with a second color, a vibrant teal, and make random patterns. “You’re a natural! Are you having fun?” You nod and giggle, adding more and more with him cheering you on. The end result has no distinguishable features or story, but it sure looks pretty. You’re absolutely overjoyed when he tells you that you can keep it.
“Hey, Y/N”
“Hm?”
“Can I try something?”
“What is it?”
His face breaks out into a big grin, eyebrows dancing up and down,
“Body paint.”
And that’s how you find yourself topless in front of the boxy-grinned wolf hybrid. You think he’s going to use your back for his canvas, but you quickly find out it’s your front he intends to color. “Why would I choose your back when I can paint these gorgeous tits.” The words make your skin break out in goosebumps.
“Do you do this with the other hybrids?”
“Only Jungkook. Been trying to get Yoongi to let me do it for months but no luck,” he pouts, “gotta say though, Jungkook’s chest is nice but definitely not this nice to look at.” You laugh shyly.
The first stroke of cold paint against your warm-blooded body has you shivering, feeling each bristle as Taehyung swipes across your stomach. He focuses on your stomach area for a good while, periodically taking a few steps back to see his work as a whole. You feel utterly exposed and on display, but the admiration in Taehyung’s eyes ease your self-consciousness. The first stroke on one of your breasts has your breath hitch. The paint works in circles around your already erect nipples, and Taehyung’s looking at your face the entire time.
“Tae” you mewl, “stop teasing”
He just laughs while continuing, doing the same to your other breast.
“I was surprised when I heard you were talking me up to Namjoon”
“Why is that?” He converses while focusing on his brush strokes.
“I mean, you’re just always teasing me. I didn’t think you’d like me.”
He chuckles, “I tease everyone Y/N, it’s never serious. I think you’re a nice addition around here.”
You let out a “wow” when he guides you to the mirror, letting you see his complete vision. It’s still your body, but it feels more than that—he took your body and turned it into a piece of art. You feel beautiful.
“Thank you, really thank you Tae.”
“Thank you for letting me do this.”
You’ve turned around to face him, letting him memorize his work one last time. To your surprise, his gaze doesn’t just linger on where the paint is, but also on your lips. Tentatively, he leans in closer, planting a soft peck on your lips, being careful not to get any paint on himself. You kiss him back.
He’s gentle the entire time he cleans you up. Big hands scrunch the damp washcloth and trace over every paint stroke he’s made. You’re hypnotized by the low jazz tune he hums. Everything feels dreamy and warm, which is why you’re too relaxed to register Jungkook and Namjoon entering the room. Both wolves look at the scene with shock, but Taehyung doesn’t stop his actions.
“Guys, Y/N let me paint on her! Ugh, why did you guys come after I’ve wiped it all off!”
The two wolves stand around awkwardly, avoiding looking at your topless figure while trying to seem unaffected. Namjoon can’t seem to stop coughing. Their demeanor has you acting awkward as well, your initial haze of indifference fading. That’s when you scramble to put your top on and hurriedly hop out of the room.
Once out of the room, you end up running right into a confused Seokjin, who just raises his eyebrows up but doesn’t pry. What he does do, however, is inform you that you are due for a good grooming session and promptly guides you to your shared room. Both of you smile when passing through the living room and seeing a curled up Yoongi on the tuxedo couch (you only know it’s a tuxedo couch because the cat hybrid told you so). When you are in the room, you make yourself comfortable on the bed while the man goes to grab a grooming kit. He works on your overgrown claws first, laser-focused on each nail as to not trim too much. He remembers how horrible he felt for days when he first trimmed Yoongi’s claws, accidentally goin overboard and causing a little bit of blood to gush out. Yoongi insisted he was alright, but Jin’s heart ached at the sight. Thankfully, he’s never made such a mistake again—which is why your nail care section goes by so smoothly. You feel spoiled when he massages hybrid claw oil into your cuticles, as it’s not a thing you’re used to. It’s when the man is gently cleaning your long, floppy ears with a cotton ball that the mood starts to change; you don’t know when the tears start coming, but your cheeks have rivers going down them before you can even process your emotions. Jin, startled, stops all motions of cleaning and faces you instead, body tensed in worry.
“Y/n, what’s wrong?! Did I do something wrong? Was it the nails? Or did I hurt your ears?!”
You quickly shake your head no, “Last time I was groomed was by my old caretaker, the day before she passed away. I remember how frail she was at the time, and how I knew she wasn’t going to last long.”
“That must’ve been really hard for you, bun.”
“It was. It was really hard. When I found her the next day…not breathing…it felt like I had lost my whole world. She was the only one who’d ever shown me love up to that point, y’know? And I didn’t even get to properly grieve her before her family got rid of me. It just really sucks.”
Seokjin offers you open arms, and you bury yourself into his comforting embrace. He doesn’t say much, just a few “it’s okay, let it out” every few minutes as you sob uncontrollably into his shoulders. Sadly, he’s had similar talks a lot before: all hybrids except Yoongi had come to him in distress. He rescued the dog hybrids by calling Hybrid Protective Services on his abusive neighbors, and the wolves were found running from hunters behind a hotel in one of his work trips. Even Yoongi, who had a previously loving home (before his caretaker decided to enlist and leave him to Jin), had serious abandonment issues early on. Suffice to say, he’s no stranger to these moments. As much as he wishes he could take all of the hybrids’ pain on himself, he knows that the only thing he can actually do is let you know he's there for you while you’re healing. Only when you’re all out of tears does he separate your body from his, leaving and coming back with a cup of hot cocoa and more blankets. He also does this thing where he exaggerates every word he says, in an attempt to elicit a laugh from you—it works.
When you finally leave the room again, Yoongi’s no longer in anywhere to be seen. His place on the couch is replaced by Jimin, who’s watching, yep, Haikyuu!! again. His tail wags furiously upon seeing you. The man is just about to give you a recap of everything on the screen when you manage to escape, giving him a hug and telling him you’ll listen later. You love Jimin’s company and you actually like the anime too, but you’re not always in a Haikyuu!! mood, which is a concept the man has yet to grasp. So you leave the living room to find the other dog-hybrid. Now, you’re usually a polite bun who has the sense to knock before entering, but you’ve made a nasty habit of walking right into the dog hybrids’ room. Besides, if they really wanted privacy then they would lock the door, right? Wrong. Because right as the door swings open, the first thing you is Yoongi’s bare ass propped up in the air, with a fully clothed Hoseok with his hand up in a mid-ass-smacking position. Your cheeks turn bright red. “We’re a little busy here, y/n” Hoseok muses, causing Yoongi to turn his head back and see you. If you thought your face was red, it’s nothing compared to the tomato-faced cat hybrid you see. Hoseok continues talking, in a frustratingly casual tone, “You’re welcome to join bun, but please close the door and leave if that’s not your intention.” You register just how wide you’ve swung the door open, and quickly shut it, with you still outside the room. Stunned and in a daze, you don’t even know how your feet take you back to the living room. Jimin, upon seeing your red face and the direction you just came back from, puts two and two together.
“You walked in on them, didn’t you” he bursts out in laughter. You throw a decorative pillow his way before taking a seat on the couch, this time much more inclined to watch Haikyuu!! if it means forgetting the embarrassment of what just happened. Unfortunately, this is the one time Jimin wants to talk about something other than Shōyō Hinata. “This is so funny, you should see your face right now!”
“Why didn’t you warn me?!”
“I didn’t know you were going to go there! If you didn’t notice, I was very immersed in the television. Anyways, what did you see? How freaky are they being right now? Or is it a tame, lovey dovey kind of day?”
“Jimin! I am not answering that!”
“Why not, are you afraid you’ll get turned on if you talk about it?” He punctuates with a suggestive wiggling of his brows, “Or are you already turned on?”
You cover your face, not giving an answer because you really do not to be further teased by the fact that you are very much turned on by what you saw. When you bring your hands down, you notice Jimin inching closer. The blonde man maneuvers his body in between your legs, now on top of you with desire evident on his face. He leans in for a kiss and you are more than willing to let him into your mouth; he tastes just as sweet as the last time the two of you kissed. Somewhere along the way, the make-out session evolves to groping and grinding, both of you eager to explore the other’s body. His soft cinnamon scent, his signature cherry chap-stick, the sensual way he moves on top of you, everything Jimin does has you getting lost in him. This exact power he has is the reason why you stop being cognizant of your surroundings—that is until Seokjin pulls you out of the moment altogether.
“YA! NOT ON MY SILK COUCH! I JUST GOT IT PROFESSIONALLY CLEANED YOU HOOLIGANS.”
Jimin falls on top you laughing, while you do your best to hide your guilty face with his body. Your hilariously outraged caretaker forces the two of you apart and orders you around to stop being horny and go prep the potatoes. You can’t help but notice Yoongi flinch and squirm in his seat throughout dinner, he does well to avoid your eyes when passing you the water pitcher. Hoseok, on the other hand, is not shying away from eye-contact in the slightest, throwing you a wink or smile whenever your eyes meet. You’re on dishwashing duty today, with Namjoon by your side in charge of drying. Part of you is glad he’s trying to make conversation while you do chores together, but the other part wishes he didn’t choose the conversation topic of you and Jimin earlier.
“So that was you and Jimin on the couch, right?”
He shatters your disillusion that no one heard Jin scolding the two of you—because of course everyone did; even without hybrid hearing, Jin’s yelling voice could be heard through every nook and cranny of the house. You pretend to be really focused on scrubbing a plate, trying to dodge the conversation. Namjoon’s not having that, though.
“Jin hyung cock-blocked you pretty hard,” he laughs before leaning in closer and dropping to a low whisper, “I can smell how wet you still are.”
You drop the plate at the statement, but the Alpha’s reflexes are quick to catch it and put it back in your grasp—his touch lingering a second too long on your hands. You weren’t dumb, you knew everyone but Seokjin could smell your arousal, but you thought everyone would follow common hybrid courtesy of not mentioning it. This is the last thing you expect to hear from an Alpha who’s only fully warmed up to you for like a week now.
“I still can’t get the image of this morning out of my head. Your tits on full display, with Taehyung wiping them down. You don’t know how crazy it drove me to see such a sight.”
Okay, if you were wet before, you are absolutely gushing through your panties right now—and Namjoon knows it. Even worse, his voice and look changes back to normal in a split second as he asks you to pass him the plate in your hand. He’s playing you. That bastard.
You bolt out of there the minute the last dish is washed, akin to how a bunny hybrid would run from a wolf in the wild, except your reasoning is entirely different in this moment. You find yourself once again in front of the dog hybrids’ door, this time making sure to knock. Once they give you the all clear, you open the door and find both of them freshly showered and drying their hair.
“We’ll come sleep in Jin hyung’s room right after we dry off, bun.” Jimin informs you, thinking that’s the reason you’re there, but you simply make your way onto their bed. The proximity lets both Hoseok and Jimin inhale the scent of your arousal, causing both men to stop their actions.
“Please take care of me, tired of being teased all day” your voice is meek and pouty, but your big doe eyes are determined.
The two men chuckle at your frustrated form but waste no time in complying. Hoseok strips you rather roughly this time, but your more than happy about it. Jimin undresses himself and unbuttons Hoseok’s shirt as well. Hoseok stops the younger man from undoing his pants, instead motioning him to get on his knees. Jimin eagerly kneels in front of his hyung, eyes begging for further instruction.
“That hungry for my cock, huh Chim?”
The boy nods.
“Another time puppy, I want you to taste our pretty bunny right now.”
Your thighs rub together at his words, and the dominant man soon picks you up and spreads you out on the bed, heat level with Jimin’s head. Your already embarrassingly wet, and Jimin dives right in. He laps up your juices diligently, humming into your heat and sending vibrations to the rest of your body. Hoseok holds Jimin’s hair the entire time, practically suffocating the man in your heat. He occasionally lets the other dog hybrid breathe, pulling him up for air by yanking his blonde locks, before shoving him back in. It’s not long before a blissful high washes over you, having you grip the bedsheets in pleasure.
Unlike last time, when everything stopped after your orgasm, both hybrids are still looking at you with lustful gazes right now. Hoseok’s cock is now fully out and erect, being stroked by his big hands.
“Can you take more? Want to give you my cock, bun.”
Luckily for everyone in this situation, you’re finally feeling your rabbit libido come back in full—meaning you can out last every hybrid in this house now.
“Give me everything, please!”
That’s all the confirmation he needs before positioning himself at your dripping entrance, nudging the man between your legs aside and ordering him to fill your mouth. Jimin’s cock slides into your throat before you have a chance to moan at Hoseok entering you. The younger man is gentler, while the older mercilessly fucks into your heat. As try as he might to last longer, Jimin completely loses it when you start making gargling noises around his length. It’s not long before his warm cum is being shot down your throat. Hoseok lasts a little longer, but not by much considering how hot you looked swallowing all of Jimin’s cum. He rubs your clit as his orgasm approaches, causing both of you to reach your highs within seconds of each other.
Hoseok cleans both of you, working extra delicately on Jimin as the younger boy has fallen asleep. He encourages you to come sleep in their room tonight, not wanting to leave Jimin alone, but you insist on going back—not wanting to leave Jin alone either. You exit the room with wobbly knees and a smile, tiptoeing back into Jin’s bed. It’s already well into the night, you realize upon hearing the man’s soft snores. You cuddle up next to him, finding peace within his lavender scent. It’s not long before you too doze off into a deep, comfortable slumber.

Since Pit Babe's end is knocking at the door, I am back in my CharlieBabe feels. I think no relationship will get to me the way they did. I will always be in awe about how human they are and how much humans can love if they want to.
I will never get over how pain shaped Charlie and Babe so differently. Pain shaped Charlie's kindness, his way of loving and caring, his want to give. He has grown up to be the exact person he wished he had growing up. A kind soul who cares so much, who loves so much. But Charlie isn't naive or stupid. Even though he is a natural caretaker he doesn't let people take advantage of him. He is careful and smart while being a giver. And there is Babe, who just wanted to be loved and wanted to love, but was wounded in the attempt to do so that it ruined the definition of love for him. He started believing that love can only bring him pain. This pain shaped his defense. Even though he had found a family of his own, he didn't let anyone venture into those parts of him which hurt the most. He was a desirable sexy alpha racer for everyone, the "Pit Babe", until he became someone's "Phi Babe",
Charlie's arrival was like a gentle knock, where he lets him in thinking he could kick him away anytime, until he could no longer do so, till he feared the idea of the latter's absence alone. It's the way Charlie buries his pain under his smile whereas Babe does it under his cockyness, smugness, so called ego. Charlie picked up babe's broken pieces, some being so sharp it cut through him, but he kept picking those up. And he caressed them. Whereas babe took Charlie's and made them his. They both shared each other's pain. Charlie is loud in love and silent in pain just like babe is the opposite.
But what makes them and their love so human is their flaws. It's the way babe wants to fight along side Charlie but Charlie pushes him away so that he doesn't even get a single scratch on him. But can you blame him? Babe himself wants to fight together but at the face of danger, covers Charlie with his whole body, pushes him back so he doesn't get hurt, so no one can touch him. They can't find equality to save their fucking lives 'cause they are each other's priority, at the face of danger, they would both die and kill for the other.
Their love brings pain and grief as well. Charlie lies and lies 'cause when it comes to his beloved being safe and happy, he would do anything. Anything. Babe may hate him but atleast he will be safe and in peace but Charlie can't fathom that. Charlie fears babe hating him, misunderstanding him. That's why instead of being happy after the "death" that babe is safe, everything assured, he is grieving and is in guilt. He has caused his lover pain again unintentionally. Whereas for babe this grief hits different. He thinks he deserved it, 'cause he didn't let Charlie know how much he meant to him, how much he loved him when he could. He lost Charlie, he lost that one thing he had which he didn't even dare to wish for before, a love, a genuine lover. It was like loosing something extremely valuable for him. He was supposed to keep him safe. But he lost him. He blames himself for not loving his beloved in the same volume. Whenever they locked eyes before, babe had this "I can't believe I have you, What did I do to deserve you" whereas Charlie has this "you deserve every piece of me and more" look on their faces, in their stares. Babe would look like he has found the most beautiful angel whereas Charlie would look like babe has hung stars in the sky. In the last ep, when Charlie comes in to save, even though still physically weak, driven by rage that people hurt babe, his face changes from anger to concern and love and guilt, "I am here for you" whereas for babe his eyes immediately turn red glistening with tears, bewilderment mixed with hope. A hope of finally finding that lost thing, a "finally you are here"
This relationship will last beyond generations and lifetimes, in which every version of them, will search for the other. A love so human it feels like a hope. A hope to love again.

Undertale Yellow: An amazing fangame with one glaring thing I hate about it (that I need to rant about or else I'm going to go insane).
As the title says, Undertale Yellow was a game I really enjoyed playing. Lots of fun dialogue and designs, utterly fantastic art and animation (holy hell that Flowey fight! <3 <3 <3), great music and feels, etc. Seriously it deserves a ton of praise, not only as a fully completed fangame that took years of development, but as genuinely amazing prequel to one of my favorite games of all time.
...Unfortunately. Much as I truly enjoyed playing through the majority of the game, when I finished the True Pacifist route I was intensely unhappy with how that went and while the credits scenes and funeral for Cover helped ease some of the worst of it, I cannot help but wonder who the flipping f$%& in the development team thought presenting Clover's suicide as the 'just and happy' ending that all the friend characters accept with barely any argument was a good idea?!
Now to clarify: I went into Undertale Yellow knowing that Clover was going to die and that there were good odds their death was going to be self sacrificial or involve suicide. Undertale Yellow is a prequel to Undertale after all and children being murdered and/or sacrificing themselves for the greater good of lovable monster kind is an established part of the setting.
I came in knowing this game was bound to end tragically. I was excited to see how this game would pull that inevitable tragedy off while exploring the Yellow soul's theme of Justice and staying true to Undertale's established canon.
And all the way right up to the end of the True Pacifist ending I truly thought they'd nailed it: The constant pressure of the monsters suffering and being trapped in the Underground despite their sweet and earnest natures, Dalv's clear issues regarding a human, Starlow's unintentional reinforcement of the 'one sacrifice for the greater good' idea with his trolley problem reenactment, the repeated back to back betrayals from characters who should be friends (the Feisty Five, Starlow, Ceraba) hurting Clover instead, the dull realization in universe for Clover that all their efforts to find the missing human children were all for nothing...
It was fantastic. There was a real sense of looming dread for me, seeing all those moments and just knowing in my gut that after the desperate struggle with the agonized and grieving Ceraba, ranting about how monster kind is doomed as it stands, that Clover would start thinking of sacrificing their life for monster kind, especially when their 'sense of Justice' at the start of the game had them willingly jump into a gaping pit they couldn't have possibly have known the height of, for the sake of mission they (according to Flowey) easily abandon when offered a loving home instead. (aka implying not so great things about how much they value their own life)
So. With all that 'hyped for tragedy' in mind, there I am at the True Pacifist ending. I've just spared Ceraba, the friends are all arguing as to how to keep Clover (and possibly any future humans who fall) safe and Clover begins to go into something of a zone out, thinking about all the things they've heard and seen over the course of their adventure.
This is it! I think to myself as I watch it play out. This is where Clover, after everything they've been through, makes the tragic yet understandable mistake of running away from their friends and confronting Asgore just as Flowey kept encouraging them to! Not to fight and bring Asgore to justice but to try talking him down and when they fail that, offering up their life to help and 'save' their friends even as the narrative will (matching Undertale) will make it clear that this is a mistake and only hurts everyone involved, just like every suicide and child murder in Undertale hurts everyone involved until Frisk is able to end the cycle of pain by rejecting the Kill or be Killed premise and setting the monsters free! Wow, I can't believe it, they set it up so well, what a perfect way to tie into Undertale's greater narrative via tragic prequel, I love this eeeeee!
Except of course that's not what happens.
My first hint something is off is when the quotes Clover's 'remembering' in their little bubble start being way too positive for the set up (also there's nothing from the trolley problem section). The second is when the music shifts from quiet to holy and then outright happy.
And third is when Clover snaps out of it and point blank tells their friends they choose to die. Now, I'm getting a little confused and wary at this but alright, this is a pretty long sequence already but I guess we get to have one final hope moment before Clover somehow gets away from their friends to die (maybe Flowey if not Asgore?)-
-and then I am left absolutely flabbergasted as the friends who just spent the last huge chunk of the game trying to protect Clover/getting talked out of killing them because 'its not right' end up agreeing with Clover's decision after a pitiful amount of arguing against it (where the utterly stupid 'there's no other option' reasoning is used as the primary reasoning despite all the other options being very clearly stated just moments ago), before the woman who's entire massive trauma arc that is centered around her accidentally killing her own child out of blind faith for 'the greater good', proceeds to assist Clover with their suicide (who she clearly views as a surrogate child despite her best attempts not to) while the other characters meekly say goodbye, give hugs and leave all while bittersweet but mostly sweet 'great job honey, this sucks but we're proud of you' music plays (also Flowey says stuff but like, its Flowey so frankly he could say anything and it'd be fine. He's not the issue here).
...Wow.
What a screwed up way for that to end. Like, I clearly get the 'idea' that Clover is meant to be noble and good and such but like, really? A fan game of Undertale (where one of the main ending messages was 'Don't kill and don't be killed', where a child's suicidal attempts to free monster kind lead to every major tragedy in the game, and where suicide was repeatedly shown to only make things worse through Asgore and Alphys in numerous neutral endings) is the game that decides having its protagonist's pointless self sacrifice should be honored and treated as a good ending by the narrative?????
How did none of the otherwise clearly brilliant people working on this miss the very bad, no good implications of Clover's friends being talked into letting them kill themselves and having the narrative frame it as anything but the worst end?????
I have many, many questions. And concerns. And...
Look, I do get it. Undertale Yellow is still a fangame. There are going to be weird notes in the tone due to different writers and such, and I should just be happy that the game was finished it at all, and accept that this god awful scene is probably just the result of its creators really, really wanting their beloved characters to go out as kindly (and beautifully drawn/animated) as possible with all the hugs and feels of canon Undertale without taking into account how much the very different context might warp the tone and the characterizations of everyone in the entire scene.
But like. God damn. There is something very off putting about not letting brave kind Martlet refuse to take this as an answer and then finding she actually can't stop it happening (and no her saying that after like two sentences from 'Ceraba who's judgement about the human sucks' doesn't count). About Starlow not recognising he and his posse might've had something to do with why Clover is thinking this. About Ceraba not on some level going 'IF THIS IS YOUR CHOICE THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU LET ME USE YOU TO SAVE KANAKO?!' Edit: Also a totally waste of prequel opportunity not to let Asgore visibly make the worst choices we canonly know he made on screen. Yes, he gets to stab Clover in the Flawed!Pacist route but Clover's trying to shoot him in that one; the fact we don't get to see him stab a 'far too willing to die for their friends and not defending themselves' Clover as the friend trio can do nothing to stop it from happening feels like such a cop out I swear XD
I'm all for 'Clover dies willingly' at the end of the True Pacifist but they way they did it was just... Really ugh in a way I'm finding tricky to word and I'm honestly shocked I haven't seen more people point it out (though admittedly that might be because I haven't really looked around much). ...So yeah. I know its too late to change said ending but really kinda hoping at some point one of the Undertale Yellow team realizes this might be an issue and thinks to add a content warning in the game's opening or something because it could really use one of those. Also that for any future projects they do, they happen to do a little more research into how to avoid accidentally glorify suicide as opposed to having it as a tragedy because damn they did not manage that here whatsoever.
---
ANYWAY, with all that rant finally out of my head some other stuff about Undertale Yellow I be feeling strongly:
Flowey's boss battle and the lead up to it is incredible and without a doubt makes the neutral route the most amazing well crafted route in the game. 10/10 may have already mentioned this in the massive rant above but if so gonna repeat it anyway because it's just that damn good.
Genocide route being a deconstruction of the 'disproportionate revenge is justice' 90s Anti Hero is very cool theme wise but the lack of the lack of stuff like notes in shops saying 'please don't kill my family' and monsters with less screen time getting more fleshed out drags it down a little, as does Clover not actually choking on dust or getting attacked by the human souls or something at the very end. Really do love the Martlet battle flashback moments and Axel's horrifically timed confession scene though.
The general uselessness of the ACT menu in big 'endurance' fights as well as the lack of 'alternative sparing ACTS' makes fights a lot less fun than they could be and I found myself a lot less willing to use them in general as a result despite them being my favorite thing about Undertale. Did still adore what fun stuff was in them though so I think it's just a case of them being a tad too out of focus compared to the bullet hell gameplay (which I'm not that good at) for my tastes.
Pacifist route could've really used some more optional hangouts and/or letters from the main friends. As is, the peak 'hang out' part of the game for me was the nap room I spent maybe two minutes in, and Dalv especially could've benefitted a ton from a bit more presence (I got more interaction from Mo and the rabbit who's tongue was stuck to a pole and I'm not happy about that? If nothing else not getting to see the inside of Martlet's house or help Dalv build his new home feel like lost opportunities).
Personal pet peeve and nothing too serious but not a fan of Asgore not getting the kill on Clover outside of Flawed Pacifist. Makes sense on most routes (glares at T!Pacifist again) given the way the plot is set up and all but given Toby Fox has repeatedly stated Asgore killed all the humans who fell post Chara it just drives me nuts XD (As does the poor Blue Soul getting treated as a killer/evil but like, I can see where people are coming on that one and Undertale Yellow uses that to amp up Chujin's nightmare fuel vibes fantastically so I shall reluctantly congratulate that theory's use there and steel myself for the inevitable 'wait you're using Undertale Yellow lore but Axis didn't kill Integrity?' questions that will be posted on my 'will eventually be posted' Undertale fanfics XDDDD)
Love all the main cast, especially Martlet, and I am way too hyped for the day Undertale Yellow and its main cast get their own fandom tags on AO3.
...Kanako's death was incredibly stupid and avoidable but like, that's kind of what I like about it? I really also wanna know which Amalgamite she became (I'm thinking probably the one that tucks Frisk in to sleep and pats them on the head because of her and Ceraba's little 'going to sleep' game but like, I could see a very heart wrenching case for her being part of So Cold as well).
Anyone reading this who somehow hasn't played Undertale Yellow should really stop reading this and go play the game. It's free, its (one major thematic issue I have moral objections to aside) pretty decently written, and hey, more Undertale stuff to have fun making fanworks with <3
Goddamn has Undertale Yellow kicked my drive to write Undertale fanfic into overload XD Thank you Undertale Yellow team for helping me get all fired up again and sorry about all the grr but dang it, it needed to be said and now that it's out of my system I can throw myself into finding ways to incorporate your settings and characters into fanworks of my own (admittedly the AU elements might make things kinda tricky -Asgore having to kill EVERY human child even more so- but that nifty little detail of early Royal Guard Martlet having and being willing to abuse her access to the Hotland Lab allows me so many ways to have Chujin be a well meaning awful person and I am living for it!) <3 <3 <3

Hypnosis | Sandman imagine
Summary: Dream of the Endless meets Y/N goddess daughter of Hypnos, he feels intrigued by her and starts developing feelings towards her.
Pairing: Morpheus x Goddess! Reader.
Part II
Tumblr media
Being the daughter of Hypnos, the ancient God of Sleep you had always been captivating by nature, your presence bringing a sense of peace to those before you.
Your powers were partly inherited by your mother Parsithea but also were capable of materializing human feelings as of their memories. Whenever humans were overwhelmed by an specific feeling you came and eased their mind. For example, you worked closely with people’s grieving as their loved ones were taken by death to Heaven, bringing them comfort and helping them find peace within their pain and memories.
Morpheus knew about you from Death’s stories, he could tell her sister had an enormous appreciation for you. So much so that she insisted in introducing the two of you.
“I think you two would get along” Death said smiling cheekily, making her brother arch a brow
“You’re not trying to set us up, are you?”
“That’s your ideas, not mine”
As every other god and goddess to exist you didn’t have a specific appearance, and you could change it as many times as you wished. Dream could not put it into words, or well he could, but they wouldn’t do you any justice.
The way you talked, moved, even laughed, something about you evoked comfort in him, he had the feeling of being able to be who he was, like you brought out the most raw and honest parts of the Endless he thought were long gone. Something about you made him feel tremendously welcome and appreciated for just being who he was.
After having met them, you invited them on a day of work, since Dream seemed curious about your powers. Besides, you were so excited to see your old friend, Death that you didn’t want to say goodbye just yet.
Morpheus walked behind you and Death for a while, almost like he was guarding you both, which you found amusing since you could feel his eyes lingering on you.
Finally, you arrived to the place, a large home that seemed to be abandoned, but you followed the soft cries and whimpers of the only inhabitant of the residence.
You were found with the sight of a middle-age man crying in a closet filled with woman’s clothes, while holding on for dear life to a frame of him and his wife, you kneeled before him graciously and quietly, his tired eyes fixed on you, having no other emotion than sadness, you sweetly wiped away his tears.
The scene before them was devastating, Morpheus could feel his pain but for now he could only observe.
“I came for his wife over a week ago, while he wasn’t here. She told me he was just around the corner, the poor woman was so distressed to leave him” Death explained to her brother, both of them never taking his eyes off you.
You rested your forehead against his, cupping face in your cold hands and closing your eyes.
“You’re safe… you may rest now” you murmured, but your words echoed through the residency. The man’s eyes were fixed on you. Almost waiting for your next command.
“Breathe in” you instructed the man as you took a deep breath touching his forehead light, making a golden shimmer emanate from his head. The man followed your instructions quietly with a shaky breathe. “And out”.
Then you moved your hand softly the golden shimmer started expanding and spinning, slowly forming a tiny porcelain doll that was very much alive. You placed the doll on the widower’s shoulder, the doll bowed before you and your guests, the man seemed more calm and in awe of the living creation you made to comfort him.
You parted ways with The Endless after that, but Morpheus kept in touch, extending you numerous invites to the Dreaming. So much so, that you became somewhat of a guest of honor in the realm. Everyone would greet you as you passed by; this opportunity would always allow you form a bond with The King of Dreams.
“Y/N, I have something I must confess to you” you turned your eyes away from the book you were holding, staring into the cosmos kept within his eyes.
“A confession, you say?” He stepped closer to you, God… he was aching to touch you, to kiss you, he felt nervous as words were never his forte.
“Yes, I uh, well… Over the course of time and having the opportunity to know you in depth I would be lying if I said I haven’t grown a particular affection towards you” you were puzzled at his statement.
Was he really saying what you were thinking?
“What are you saying, Morpheus?” You asked, staring deeply into his eyes, he knew you were asking for clarification.
“I’m saying I have fallen in love with you”
The words slipped out of his mouth softly and so slowly, Morpheus felt lightheaded, wondering why such words seemed to be so difficult to pronounce before this. When you took a long pause to respond he worried, he could see the hope in your eyes, that your feelings were reciprocated but why were you doubting?
“I must say I too, share your feelings. But I am betrothed to another”
“Betrothed?” He wondered quietly.
“To Asopus, yes… If I’m honest I have been trying to undo that arrangement far too long” you huffed, it was obvious that you were doing this as an obligation, and not out of love. “My heart will always belong to you, dear Morpheus… but my duty lies with another” that was all he needed to hear. He wanted you to be free, free to love, to be who you were.
“What if you couldn’t go through with the arrangement?” you frowned, not knowing what he meant.
“I’m afraid I’m not following” you spoke sincerely. Morpheus licked his lips taking a deep breath, fully aware that the next words that were coming out of his mouth was one-if not the- most outrageous thing he would allow himself to suggest in millenniums.
“What if you’re already married?”

Vashwood thematically feels like two starts orbiting each other very closely, while Vashmeryl is like a planet naturally orbiting a start or large force of mass. Like they both are about two people revolving around each
i see u and if u dont mind me pulling off this to make it much more essay-ish than it needs to be,
for me it feels like vash has 2 sides to his character and both wolfwood n meryl are there to understand each of those sides
wolfwood relates to and resonates w his more "monstrous" side, theyve both seen hell and come out with completely different views but despite that they still are probably the only two who really Get eachother for that, just feeling too big for your skin and that theyr only deserving of loneliness, but they find eachother and they click because they fit more in with the monstrous, evil, barely human people of nomans land who want to see it burn and theyr always pulling themselves from comfort and happiness because they feel they dont deserve it and they need to atone for the people who Made them, but they find it in eachother whether they mean to or not until the very end. they even became so enamoured with eachother that when wolfwood died, in a sense, he joins rem in vash's head as someone to fight for and someone who shapes his reasoning, he only kills legato to save livio because wolfwood died for livio, just like how rem died to save everyone so then anyone dying would be a waste of her death
for meryl she sees herself in the more human side of vash, despite all hes been through he still smiles like its nothing and she knows damn well thats not normal and hes hiding his pain because hes still a person. when vash kills legato he breaks down completely she holds his head in her lap and thinks about how she did the same when she first killed someone because its such a human reaction, something the people of nomans land seem to have forgotten. theyr horribly terrified to get close to eachother because she knows hes not human, she knows what hes capable of and shes absolutely got issues herself with being emotionally closed off and for vash we know he punishes himself by not allowing himself simple comforts as well as the fact he knows hes a danger to those around him but theres still a person in there and meryl sees it and vash knows she does and is so relieved that Someone does but theyr both too traumatised to get close but by the end of the manga we start to see them perhaps warming up to the idea of being closer
you can even expand further on this with wolfwood's status as a victim of the narritive by watching how all the gungho guns are picked off one by one (besides livio) including knives and wolfwood because thats vash's whole reason for not just giving up and living a quiet human life as eriks, wolfwood (and knives, and the rest of the gungho huns) dying can be read as vash losing his need to be a monster, and while it pains him to see his partner and brother die its like that inhuman part of him - or the need to use it - dying too, which can also be seen in his hair turning black, and whos still there by the end when his hairs fully black and theres no threat forcing him to be a monstrous angelic saviour to the world? meryl - his humanity. we dont really see much of him living as human (such as allowing himself to grieve, recover, love, eat, sleep, form bonds, laugh, smile, be happy) before the series ends but i love that it lets us fill in the blanks
anyway uhh TL;DR wolfwood brings understanding and comfort in vash's inhumanity and meryl reminds him of and encourages his humanity

Being Schizotypal is like…
I’m looking for anything to escape reality because I don’t feel like I belong in this world as a human.
I don’t feel comfortable ever. I don’t feel connected ever. I only find comfort in fantasy.
My idea on metaphysical philosophy and faith is obsessive and strange compared to others.
I’m scared. I’m lonely. I’m too paranoid and protective over my autonomy to accept intimacy.
I feel nothing and have zero drive to do anything outside of isolation and daydreams.
The world doesn’t look the same to me as how others speak about it.
I’m so lonely. I grew up not understanding why I was different from others, and the eventual answer didn’t console me.
People won’t stop pointing out that they view me as different/strange/unique/eccentric.
Things that aren’t moving are moving. I find myself disagreeing and arguing about how colors look with others because it’s either more or less vibrant to me than their perception.
None of this is actually real, and I don’t affect anything.
I have too many rules and habits that people disrupt or tell me to stop despite being harmless. Am I really the asshole?
I’m overwhelmed while simultaneously not interested in reality enough.
I was lucid, but now I’m being put on a legal hold in a hospital for psychosis; they don’t understand why I’m no longer psychotic the next day and can’t have all of the antipsychotics they wanted to push onto me.
People keep staring at me like they’re uncertain and uncomfortable, but I’m not doing anything.
Doctors and techs who don’t know much about personality disorders keep accusing me of being Schizophrenic or lying about my experiences for attention although I hate attention because they only think someone can be Schizophrenic or not Schizophrenic without any nuance or additions.
People either can’t stand to be around me or like me too much for my comfort.
I know people, but I won’t let them know me.
I have to choose between constant acting or being called a freak and rude.
I’m treated like an interesting science experiment.
I want to talk to the birds and flowers and be left alone to do what I want.
I wish I could connect to others. The idea of connecting to others makes me feel sick.
I’m exhausted and disgusted by people. People aren’t bad; I’m just weird and difficult. People are dangerous and gross.
I was bullied growing up while simultaneously put on a pedestal for thinking outside of the box and having a talent with negotiation and diplomacy— I’ve always been too disconnected to have a bias.
My body keeps floating. I can feel something moving under my skin, but nothing is there(probably).
Probably, maybe, possibly, I’m not sure.
I’ve never been in love and don’t have crushes like others do. I find it hard to grieve, miss presences, reach out and answer, and with knowing how anyone feels about me.
I handle death and danger “oddly” well.
Reality is movement that I can’t track the same as others.
I relate to monsters more than humans. I wish I was a monster.
Myself and everyone who’s met me can and always could tell that there’s something “off” about me, but no one can summarize it or explain it.
I have to pretend that none of this is true because I’m afraid of being hurt, controlled, rejected, and because acting on my natural personality has shown me how cruel the world is to anyone who deviates too far from the norm.

Hannah Annafellows - secretly the main character of Black Butler Season 2?
Here we go again. I've been digging around in my notes and looking at Hannah Annafellows, one of the least liked characters in Black Butler. What is there to like? She is one of the few female characters and all she does is get degraded and it felt uncomfortable to watch. However, we have another bored demon who comes across a child who is trembling with fear, but cheerfully greets her anyway. What does he want? To ask her help not for himself, not for riches, fame, power, or anything people normally ask for. No, he wants the happiness of someone else. Having never encountered such selflessness, she is intrigued and agrees to make his wish come true. Luca thinks that will happen by destroying the town that grieves him and his brother so much. Easily done. She and the triplets cause a fire and kill everyone who acted against the brothers...save a few poor boys who were in a similar situation or took pity on them. Hannah says it is done and Luca THANKS HER. In all the years she had done contracts with humans not one thanked her. Why would they? She would be their ultimate end. Fear, anger, resignation, those would be common, but gratitude? Not for their demise, the oblivion that Ciel appears to be seeking to escape what happened to him and his brother, but for being so kind as to help them. This changes her. It affects her strongly and deeply. The Kuroshitsuji Fandom site says she cried as she devoured Luca. She could not break the deal either, but instead of 'digesting' Luca, she kept his soul stored inside her. She went to see the happiness of his brother, to insure her side of the bargain had been well kept...only to see him in distress over the loss of Luca. He had his wish, bought by another, yet wasn't happy? This probably threw her for a loop. For her part, she would have been given a great gift-something new that in thousands of years she hadn't experienced, yet would not have felt she had executed her part in kind. So she contemplated how to achieve happiness for this mortal for whom nothing seemed to bring joy. He gained wealth, power, even some fame as an Earl, but it did not fill him. He wanted his brother which she could not give. He would not join Luca in "heaven" so she needed to get him to make a pact with her. That was a tricky business since he also contracted with Claude. We saw that Sebastian was unable to complete his contract when he didn't have both the soul and the body. So she took Alois/Jim's physical eye which would look like a mere repayment of the indignity visited upon her to Claude. Thus their whispered pact as he lay dying could take hold. Why was it possible? Claude abandoned his pact with Alois. He mislead his master about the truth of who started the fire and then got bored with taking revenge upon Sebastian. Even with Sebastian, he broke that pact as well, because Ciel is just so darn tasty!
Anyway, so Hannah had the body in the form of Alois’ eye.  Claude had the soul in the ring, but cared not to eat it, rather trying to alchemically merge (another version of the merging theme) the two souls so he could claim the tastier one of Ciel.  Alois wanted Claude’s regard, so Hannah pointed out that Claude DID acknowledge Alois/Jim before dying. That allowed Alois to gain his happiness and Hannah was then able to allow herself and them to die to reach Nirvana where there would be no sense of self, and eternal happiness.  Her trials were those of the demon who followed the monk to learn how to rise up spiritually.  She quested not for herself, but for both of the boys and even tried to redeem Claude. Over the course of the show, the only one that actually grew and changed their nature was Hannah. So it is odd to discover that the story was actually hers. There are legends of demons in Japan following monks and Buddhism to reach enlightenment. I suspect that is similarly what was in play here. She suffered not only for Alois/Jim's pleasure, but to redeem her actions so she could reach that place of Nirvana for them all in the end. That's why she suffers silently, does not meet anger and pain with more of the same. She sought to end the cycle. I still don't like her character, but changing the lens certainly allows a better perspective to understand her and write her with agency. Her agency was the choice not to act, but to show humility and kindness. I think the tale told from her perspective, with more of her mental thoughts available to the audience would make an interesting one. Oh, and we know that the demon's names mean something. The other spelling of her name was Hannah Annafeloz. I tried looking up "feloz demon" and got a correction for "feliz demon", clicked on it and what did I get? Mephistopheles. Reading the Wikipedia page on it, that name is a Greek compound of "love" and a negation term. So Hannah's arc goes from "no love" to "loving". Her pact is the actual Faustian pact but turning the tale completely around from destruction to enlightenment. Interesting stuff, no? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mephistopheles

#9 for the SU asks?
Ohhh this is a hard one. A lot of really good contenders. Alone at sea, log date, growing pains, volleyball, there are SO MANY good ones. But I think at the end of the day, probably a single pale rose. It's just. Man! It's fucking good!
God. Okay. Where do I begin.
It tells you so much in such a short amount of time, which is one of the arguable biggest strengths of the show by far. So much about the lore, about Pearl's mental state, about Rose herself, about EVERYTHING. God. Okay. Let's dig into this.
I already had Rose is Pink spoiled for me long before I touched the show, so it was a matter of. Wait rose shattered her. What. Huh. Okay, this is interesting. How are they planning on explaining it? And the fact that it still hit for me after knowing thats how it turns out is a testament to how good it is. Okay.
The way the inner gem is constructed is fascinating. I wanna know more!! Is that how everyone's inner gem looked? Do other gems that aren't pearls HAVE inner gems? Do diamonds have inner gems? Do others have multiple other themselves in there?? I LOVE how it slowly built up to the reveal. It feels so much longer than 12 minutes. You just get so immersed in it. The implications come out swinging from the first Pearl! I'm excellent at compartmentalizing. The fact that the outer Pearl still doesn't want Steven to know. Or maybe more accurately, is still terrified of him knowing. Maybe shes scared of disobeying Rose. Maybe she's guilty of wanting to disobey her so badly. Maybe she's guilty that Steven would ever consider her doing that. Maybe she's just terrified of if they'll never be family like they used to be after Steven knows. Maybe it's an automatic response, the urge to please. There's so many ways to interpret those little minutes!
And goddd. That first other Pearl crying about Rose having a baby adds so much. She resented Steven for so long. Viewed Steven as what took away Rose. She's alone and fractured and useless and now Stevens here, and she's meant to serve, not to have this child she can't care for. Change comes naturally to humans, but she's not a human. She can't care for this creature Rose wanted more than anything. She can't change. She's made to not change. She could serve Rose but this creature refuses to act in the way he should. It adds so much depth to Roses Scabbard. She's trying to fulfill that purpose, make herself feel better about losing Rose, she can serve Steven like she served Rose, but he isn't her. And she doesn't know what her purpose is anymore. Her crying about it to Steven, when Steven IS THE BABY fucks me up so bad. It's just reinforcing his own beliefs about himself. And also just. The fact that it's the closest to the surface. Because of course it is. That's the first struggle we learnt about Pearl. She misses Rose. She doesn't know who she is without Rose. She based her entire worth on Rose. It makes perfect sense. It's what happened in an Indirect Kiss, her panicking at the thought of losing something of Rose's, feeling like it's a direct betrayal. It all comes from this feeling of being lost without Rose to guide her. She's always had a personality outside of Rose but she has never existed without Rose. This is the cause of so many of her bad decisions. She feels useless on her own. Of course it's the second closest to the surface. It's one of her least well concealed hurts. It's right there if you look hard enough.
The pearl in the battlefield is just. Ouch. Her dead eyed stare as she watches the fighting. The voice acting is phenomenal. It perfectly captures the just...I dunno how to explain it. It adds so much to her. The knowledge that as she's been grieving Rose, she's been grieving the entire rest of the rebellion. She's been grieving everyone. She's been mourning Bismuth, the rebellion she and Rose built from the ground up. She's been living with the guilt. She hid it from Steven for the first twelve years of his life because she didn't want him to know about the rebellion. So many layers to that. Was it that she couldn't bear to lose him too? Was it shame that she couldn't protect the rest of the rebellion? Was it that she didn't want him to know what a Pearl was? Was it her quietly respecting Roses wish to never look back, because clearly she didn't want this being shed given her gem to be involved in this mess? Also the line before going into this flashback. The "Probably where I lost everything else." Just tells you so much without directly saying it. Pearl is so much more affected by the war than she lets on. She's been grieving it for so long. She told Rose, why would I ever wanna go home if you're here, but she almost got herself and Steven killed because she wanted to see Space so badly. She wants things so painfully and aggressively. She just tricks herself into thinking she doesn't.
I also love the differences in how different Pearls in her mind are portrayed. Because we have the first two just being directly no memories, just the keeper of things and then an emotional state. Which, very interesting! Just a personification of her biggest feeling. And then we see the battle field, which is her hollowly watching the battle play out around her. It has some interesting implications about how this memory is stored. Maybe it's a thing of...y'know how sometimes it just feels like you're watching your own body do things and say things, not feeling like yourself? Maybe that's how she dealt with the battles, with having to fight. Compartmentalizing, as she admits herself. Maybe she labeled all the things she did in a battle as the renegade pearl. Not herself.
But for the last two Pearls, it shows her directly in the memory iirc. Which is very fascinating! I interpret this as. Y'know those memories you replay constantly. Thinking over what you could've done better. Never able to shake them. You hear them on repeat in your mind, you see it when you close your eyes. You can't escape it. No matter what you do. That's how I interpret that.
Her having a Pearl in her head that's just...her shapeshifting into Rose. For five seasons straight, she doesn't shape shift. Some people genuinely thought pearls couldn't shape shift because of it. I wonder how often she stayed awake at night thinking about it. Thinking about how it felt like to shape shift, to be Rose. How much that lie, hearing people talk about Rose like that, destroyed her. Hearing people talk about HER. Did she ever look at her own body and feel wrong? Feel like an imposter in her own skin? Did she hate reforming because she could only remember Rose reforming? Herself reforming? It's so interesting. The fact she was crying too. How much had it eaten her up inside? How many times did she remember watching Rose's gem fall to the ground and feel like she'd be sick? God.
And of course, the fucking. Actual scene of her talking to Rose. The fact that she has that entire conversation memorized. Everything that happened completely play by play. The constant question of if she did the right thing. If it was really all for nothing. Rose said she wanted to have this life with her, but now she's gone. What had she done? How badly did she mess up that Rose decided she no longer wanted that life? Pearl would've been happy to stay like that forever. She thought Rose would be too. She'd based her entire life around her. Why wasn't that enough? She'd tried so hard.
It also has some FASCINATING implications about Rose. She's trying so hard to give Pearl an honest choice in this. She doesn't stop to consider how the gag order will affect her. Because in her mind, why would it be relevant? They'll be completely free from the diamonds, they'll both be happy, and she can finally stop being the useless little Pink Diamond and live with the people she loves. She wants to forget it ever happened. Wants to just be Rose and pretend she never was a diamond. She wants to live with Pearl like there never was any status involved. She wants to live on earth and forget she ever stepped foot on homeworld. If they just forget she was ever Pink, maybe Pearl will just love her without being so skittish around her. Maybe if they just forget it ever happened. Maybe if everyone just forgets it ever happened, she can pretend Pink never existed and that she's only ever been Rose.
But of course shattering Pink fucked Pearl up. She severely injured the love of her life. She had to lie to all of her friends for years. She had to conceal a massive part of herself. She couldn't talk about it even to Rose. It's just. Such a complicated situation.
And also the fucking line in it's over isn't it hits so hard in retrospect btw. Petty and dull with the nerve to doubt her. Implying at this point in the story she was questioning Rose. Mmmm interesting.
Also the music the art the EVERYTHING. Fantastic episode. I think it's my favorite, yeah. Just. Excellent. 10/10.

I hate to ask this but, the way to tell each person's personality gets to me.
So: What if Diluc was murdered? Like by either the fatui or the abyss order for always getting in their way.
How would the harem and his kids react? (Let's hope poor Bennie doesn't try to put the blame on himself)
So that's a tall as order so I'm gonna break this down into categories of how fuck the Fatui/Abyss is.
Threat Level SSS - Imminent Danger To no one's surprise, Childe sits right here. He gonna come in hot and fast and leave nothing living in his awake. Like He'd not an angry person by nature, and I think that when he is angry, you're not just facing the incident, but every moment of anger he's packed away. Every unfair treatment or displeasure he or a loved one has faced. You're now facing it. He's also not going to instant kill. He's going to be a bit clumsy and miss by in inch. To level his victims with just a few seconds of pure pain. And He will go until he's either killed everyone he thinks deserves it or until he's burnt out.
But also, here is Zhongli. And less because of how fast he would act but more because an old god would start flexing his muscles again. You would start seeing a bit of Morax, archon war ara Zhongli. Like he would try to grieve as a human, he honestly would, but he could do it. Diluc was taken from him for doing what he thought was right and protecting others. It would be too much, and Zhongli would demand justice.
And finally, here is one that might surprise people. Al Haitham. Al Haitham is not the kind of person who is naturally very kind, but neither is he malicious. He chose that, and any kind act on his part is something he put thought into. But that works totally in reverse when he choices to be cruel. He is cruel. He goes for the weak spot that acts that will cause the most harm and suffering. Al Haitham's vengeance would not be instant. It wouldn't be fast. It would be slow. Planned and suffering. Like we are talking Count of Monte Cristo and Cask of Amontillado kind of shit. Because these people had no place in killing Diluc and taking a part of his peaceful life away from Al Haitham. And since he has to live with that hole now too. He'll make sure it's returned.
Threat Level - Emergency
So while still very dangerous, This is gonna be the less painful total annihilation class. And the big players here are Albedo and Ayato. The big difference is they simply aren't as powerful as the other teir and well, you could make a comparison between Albedo and Al Haitham's power. I think the difference in personality. Albedo isn't really capable of the same level of pure cold, rational Al Haitham is. He is just gentler, and his biggest threat is gonna be well. He's gonna tell Alice. And you are doomed, then.
Then Ayato is like Al Haitham and is thinking in terms of the most cold and efficient punishment. But he's got more leashes on him and things to control how far he can go. And he will push all of that to it's limits to make sure justice is done
But also, here is Xiao. And he's sort of in the same boat as Zhongli, and you would see more of his wartime side come out. But he's got more of the leash like Ayato does.
Threat Level - Alert
So this is where a lot of the kids are gonna be placed. Purely because they don't have the experience or the abilities to go as far as they others. Plus being sort of raised by Diluc they'll be more gentle and have more moral worries about collateral damage. Fischl and Razor are both there. Along with Itto and Eula. This is gonna be like the one time you see me put Itto in like... the rational category. This group would work to see a more true sort of justice done. Something they think... Diluc would be proud of it.
Threat Level - Standby
So here are where you'll see repercussions, but this is where the grief is more paralyzing. Thoma, Kaveh. They both would be more focused on the lost of Diluc and trying to figure out life without him and wouldn't prioritize any revenge. That doesn't mean they wouldn't hate the Fatui/ Abyss with their whole being it just. They just aren't revenge seekers.
Also, here are Diona and Bennett. Diona would be in the class above but I kind of see her as the kid to take over the winery. She'd want to focus on making juice and seeing Diluc's work continue in making wonderful drinks to bring people together. She would be the angerest out of everyone and carry the most hate but... Her love and will to make Diluc proud would go beyond that. As for Bennett, I feel he would hoard a bit of guilt and just the question. "What it my bad luck?" "Did it rub off on him?" And it would make him a little distant from everyone for a long while. because he can't stop that question from repeating in his head.

Do you think that it's silly or parasocial to feel lied to/tricked by how the ending treated the themes of abuse? /genq just wondering. been feeling kind of stupid about being hurt by the whole thing.
I think it's perfectly reasonable to be emotionally invested by something and, as a consequence to that, be moved by it.
the emotional highs you feel from a genuinely incredible story that has meaning to you is a beautiful thing, something to be celebrated, but the inverse of that is the pain of disappointment like many people are feeling here.
I think it's a natural consequence of being a human being with access to the creations of other human beings. it isn't Bad to be emotionally invested, it isn't Bad to either celebrate or have to grieve. it's human.
that said, what makes parasocial relationships potentially dangerous is
1: a lack of appropriate boundaries for anyone and everyone involved
2: not tempering your Understanding of the situation or your public reactions to it
when people harass each other or break each other's boundaries over a story or an imagined relationship with a celebrity That's when parasocial relationships are unhealthy.
if you need to grieve then by all means, I certainly did after the crimeboys ending was what it was. there's no shame in it. we just Also need to remember that tommy and tubbo are, despite technically being adults, still teenagers.
it's okay to say that you were genuinely emotionally impacted by what happened, and that the implications of the ending were hurtful, especially after so much time spent where the writing Was respectful with the subject matter, While Also Still Recognizing that it's okay for teenagers to make bad writing decisions.
tommy is a real person and he deserves the space to learn and make mistakes, you are Also a real person and deserve the space to feel your emotions as fully and deeply as you need to.

Now i lay me down to sleep
There are very few instances when I can recall my negative memories. For most of my life my mind has worked to erase that which made me feel anything outside the realm of joy and peace that was allotted to my Christian bubble.
I do recall one day at youth group, when we were actually speaking about God and the Bible, which is what I wanted every week to be like because I yearned for knowledge more than spending time with people who wished I were someone different. We were talking about what we would want to be remembered for at our funerals. Not the most upbeat of topics… but thought provoking for a bunch of barely teenagers. I remember someone stating they wanted to be remembered for their hockey skills, and another still wanting to be remembered for their voice. I had actually thought about this for ages before we were asked in the group. My answer was ready and I remember feeling like I was vibrating in my seat as it was finally my turn.
I said I want to be known for being kind.
Because it is something I want to grow. I want people to feel seen and appreciated in their humanness when in my presence. I want them to feel appreciated. Remembered.
Because it does not come naturally for me. My memory is sporadic at the best of times, and I often have to write things down about the people I care about so I can actually remember properly.
I remember their laughter more than anything. Then the heat in my face. It is how I try to describe every embarrassed character I have ever written. Scrunching into myself. Craving the ability to turn back time and prevent the words or to have the ability to scrub them from everyone’s brains. I didn’t understand what I had said wrong. I don’t remember who said it, but they asked me incredulously: “like mother Theresa?”
I think it was supposed to be a compliment. Even said with derision that cut to my bone, and I agreed silently in hopes they would just move on. My friends at school called me by the title of the head of a nunnery for years because of this story. And I know they meant well. And it was funny!
But my heart aches every time I hear someone say something similar. Because it means I was not alone in my hunger.
I wanted people to awaken to the horrible reality of our world by the way I would care for them. Want them to realise that kindness does not have the structure of fairy floss. Kindness is steel and blood and tears, and sitting in the darkness of the room with sobs wracking your chest as you grieve the unfairness of life. Kindness, and trying to right the wrongs that should not be. Making the world fair.

thinkin about calvin writing about a male reader (preferably transmasc but it doesn’t really matter) and having another ruby sparks situation happen, and how he might handle it differently. but knowing calvin he’d probably revert back to some of his old ways
idk if you’re doing headcannons rn but i feel like that might be interesting
Calvin Weir-Fields Writing Male! Reader to Life Headcanons
I haven't written for Calvin in such a long time omg!! This is definitely more post-movie focussed. Calvin swore he changed but I don't believe it for a second lmao
Tagging: @bugginbeetlew
- I'm going to be so honest with you: he never got rid of his typewriter after Ruby
- The breakup was hard on him and despite him telling everyone that it's gone, it's hidden away in some linen closet in his house
- It takes Calvin two weeks to fall back on old habits and for him to bring out the typewriter
- He just wants someone to understand him. A man for more innocent company to help him grieve his relationship with Ruby. His yearning is enough for you to manifest
- While this happened before, it never fails to make Calvin shocked at your sudden appearance and friendliness to him
- The author adored your company. He appreciated that you were more sensitive to his needs, all the other men in his life were too pushy and some were douchey jocks that just talked about sex
- Soon enough, Calvin's feelings towards you became romantic. You filled the hole that was missing ever since Ruby left, yet it feels more genuine
- I think this budding relationship between you and Calvin gives him some confidence, there's more of an effort to let you be your own person and he strays away from using you for validation
- However because you're his first boyfriend, he's going to have new anxieties blossom: what you mean for his own sexuality and how he's going to be perceived publicly
- Calvin gets nervous about pda, there's instances of panic and him unlatching his hand from yours or asking you to keep pet names to a minimum in public
- His nerves are doubled around his family
- Their acceptance, while flattering is overbearing at times and he'd never hear the end of it from his brother
- Harry is his own breed of straight dude bro, y'know?
- I will say that Calvin, although better about this, does feel tempted to "correct" some behavior
- You were made to comfort him, he isn't the most equipped to deal with dealing with conflict
- Whether you want some time away or if another guy had some eyes on you. It's a test to see if Calvin actually changed
- I can see Calvin thinking he'd be doing something good for you if he were to change something
- For example, if you were trans and feeling dysphoric, he'd think about just erasing that dysphoria away completely.
- Since this is supposed to be Calvin improving himself, I think the thought ever escapes the brain. It'd be a start to a slippery slope
- Besides, he wants a more realistic relationship. He has to come to terms that being human is not having one trait on full display all the time. To make you feel as real as possible, it's best to just let you be and to figure out the world naturally

Safest Haven
6x06 Episode Coda. I was rewatching Tomorrow and couldn't stop thinking about Bobby closing his eyes when they thought Karen was gone. There are a lot of implications in that one, tiny little moment and it stuck with me. So now I'm sharing my feelings with you guys.
1.2k | read on ao3
It never gets easier.
Bobby supposes that that is the nature of the job—that, in some way, watching, hearing spouses grieve is never supposed to get easier. He’s heard it a thousand times before, the old sentiment that once it stops hurting, it’s time to stop doing the job. He doesn’t know if that's true or not. What he does know is that his empathy keeps him human, and that the echo of grief he carries in his chest whenever he watches husbands and wives crumble beside the cooling corpses of their spouses, here only moments ago and now cruelly plucked from existence as gracelessly as they were dropped within it, reminds him what it means to be alive. Reminds him that every day, he has the rare and precious opportunity to give to others what he never had: a chance; hope, fleeting, even if just for a moment.
But it never gets easier.
Hen compresses her wife’s chest, over and over in a macabre rhythm he’s seen before.
One, two, three, stay with me.
One, two, three, what about our kids.
One, two, three, please don’t leave me.
It all smells acrid in his nostrils, tastes like ash on his tongue.
Once upon a time there was a boy who torched everything he loved and walked away without a scar…
It never gets easier.
He closes his eyes, just for a moment. He wants to pray but he’s not sure what to pray for. Does he pray for Karen’s healing? For her revival? That she will open her eyes and suddenly be well again? Bobby’s been on this earth for too long, has seen too many miracles to discount the possibility. But they’ve shocked Karen’s chest three times now, have reached the point where to shock her again feels like a cruel debasement of someone once beloved—always beloved. So what does he pray for? Does he pray for himself, that he be granted the words with which to console Hen? He can tell her he’s walked this path before, but she knows that, and it’s not something she’d want to hear from him anyway. The slip in perception between Bobby the Captain to Bobby the Widow is not a transition made lightly, is a transition Eddie still struggles with on the occasions that they talk about love and loss. So what then? Does he pray for Hen? For her strength? He knows from experience that no amount of holy undergirding prepares you for the death of your spouse, the severance of half your body.
The legends say that soulmates were originally one being, cosmically split and destined to find each other over the course of the universe, but Bobby’s not sure that’s true. Or if it is, everyone he has loved and loss has been, in some way, his soulmate—his wife, his kids, himself. He thinks sometimes that maybe it’s not so much that two human beings are singular parts of one whole so much as it is we are all, in some way, apart of each other. But that doesn’t help him now, and that type of philosophizing won’t help Hen either when she takes her son by the hand and once again steps foot in a house made for three that now only fits two.
It never gets any easier—figuring out what to say, what to pray, how best to ask God to drop something timely and divine in your hands.
But then Chimney catches a pulse. Then, Karen’s eyes open and her hand weakly moves to brush against her wife’s pants, and Bobby thinks that, perhaps, God listens to confusion as much as he listens to sonnets.
Athena pulls up to the hospital only moments after Hen accompanies her wife inside. She takes one look at him before pulling him aside, far away from the prying gazes of the men and women he leads into battle, and folds him into her arms. She is smaller than he is, shorter by more than a couple inches, but he is the one who always feels small in her embrace, cocooned by her warm, honey-soaked presence. He sinks down, knees pressing into the cement, and leans his forehead against her stomach while her fingers carefully scratch across his scalp.
She holds him for several long moments, does not speak or question the occasional, tear-less hitches of his breath. Instead, she hums a wordless tune while he stitches himself back together, a melody half-remembered from the gospel stations he used to hear on the gas station radio when he was a boy. Bobby lets himself sink into the memory of youth and childhood fantasies, visions of following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps just as clear to him now as they were when he was a boy.
I want to be a captain one day, he said one summer, gapped-tooth and sure in the way most children are about both the ridiculous and the sublime. I want to run into fires and lift people up and save lives just like you, Grandpa.
There’s a lot more than being a firefighter than just saving lives, boy, his grandpa always used to say, a mouthful of chewing tobacco in his the pocket of his cheek, staining his teeth. Sometimes you’ve gotta save yourself too.
Bobby didn’t get it then, but he gets it now. Oh, does he get it now. Every breath he takes, every moment he does not allow his grief to send him careening into finding relief at the bottom of a bottle is an act of saving himself. Toward the end, Grandpa was senile, barely able to remember his own name much less anything else. But he was right about that—always right about that.
Carefully, Bobby rises to his feet, his eyelids slipping closed while Athena’s thumb brushes the crows feet at the corners. He is getting too old for this, he thinks absently. The humanity of the job, the crash of feelings with no respite, twenty-four hours of blood-spattered, brain-matter, agonized and condensed grief is a lot upon the body and soul. Too much for one man to bear, when carrying the load of others' stifled grief as well. But when Bobby opens his eyes, his wife is there. Not the wife of his youth, for she sleeps underneath the gentle folds of the earth along with his daughter and son, but the wife of his tomorrow, the wife of his forever. Athena stands tall and strong for him just as he has stood for her, a pillar of holiness in herself.
She squints up at his face, sun beating against her eyes, and cups his jaw. “Ready for duty, Captain Nash?”
Bobby nods. He captures her wrist and slides it toward his mouth and presses a kiss to her palm. “Ready,” he says against her skin.
He leans in and presses a dry kiss on her lips, warm and lingering before stepping out of her atmosphere. With every step he takes back to the truck, he sloughs off the veneer of weary husband and replaces it with the cape of stalwart captain, the spines of his crew straightening up when they see him approach.
It never gets easier—the grief, the reminders of all he’s lost, and the way loss always tastes like alcohol and smoke in the back of his throat. But as Bobby leads his team into the hospital, a battlefield of gruesome uncertainty unto itself, with his wife by his side, he thinks that maybe it doesn’t have to get easier, so long as he always has shelter against the brutal press of the storm.

🪶. Independent Verse
Default, alternative verse for interactions with other muses. Unlike the Canon verse, instead of taking place after the Forbidden Voracity story ends, the Independent verse happens before it starts.
Tumblr media
Summary
Scarlett managed to escape her situation as a servant and continue on her own. Ghouls had broken into the manor while her master, Rhiannon, was not under her supervision, killing her before she could do something about it. Then and there, Scarlett snaps, attacks the killers to death and, under a panic rush, she escapes. However, she takes a different route than in the Canon verse, never running into Kino as he has no special need for her help.
In this alternative version of the story, Kino genuinely had no further intentions aside from saving Ghouls. Inspired by his LE Vampire Ending, where him and Yui find peace and the Promised Land together and decide to help Ghouls at all costs. We could say Kino stays with Yui in this verse, while Scarlett is set free and they never cross paths.
Note: The nuances (Yui's role, the time where this happens, etc.) only serve as an 'excuse' of sorts. I don't expect anyone to keep up with it or adapt their lore to this, just have in mind that Scarlett is free lol.
Aftermath
Scarlett shelters in an abandoned cottage after escaping, found in the middle of the forest. She spends months, maybe years isolated from the world, paranoid, on edge, sleepless and terrified of being found and captured again. Over time, she gets out little by little, and realizes the world has changed, this human world wasn't like the one she lived in... oh, so long ago.
While taking a lot of time to grieve and settle down, she makes that cottage her new home, practices what she's learned in the past in case she needs to defend herself, and feeds off animals if she needs to. It takes long before she realizes she really is free, no one is going after her, and so she ponders... In this new human world, where her appearance doesn't give her nature away instantly, is it really a sin to start a new life?
For so long she was forced to accept that weak creatures like her were only meant to be overpowered, no matter what. However, her memories always reminded her that it wasn't always that way... She didn't get that treatment as a human, after all, despite her premature death. She wishes to go back to that state, to be able to be herself, and so she can't help but wonder: would others treat her like a worthless creature as well? What if not everyone thinks that way? Will her experiences be proven wrong by finding happiness in immortality?
Scarlett refused to keep waiting to be saved again. Therefore, one day she forced herself to stop thinking the world was out to eat her, and stepped out of that house with intentions to eat the world first. How bad could it possibly be?
Tidbits
• Here, Scarlett is more mentally and emotionally unstable than in the Canon verse. Since she only has herself to rely on, she can be hostile towards new people, detached and defensive, openly challenging and threatening out of fear and reluctance of giving in. She's also a little more impulsive, driven by a "How much can I do? How far can I go?" mentality, testing the limits first-hand in a world she learns more of every day, while at the same time yearning for the control that was taken from her and demanding the respect everyone refused to give her before.
• Scarlett started attending school out of curiosity after she spotted other demons attend. She was assigned to the 3rd year when she enrolled in Ryoutei academy, passing the entrance exam with unexpected ease. However, after discovering a Grand piano in the music room, she barely does more than the bare minimum to avoid getting expelled and keep having access to the piano. Someday, her consistency and routine of filling the school with calm music (even if it was during class) may or may not give her the chance to become a music teacher...
• She doesn't know the Sakamaki or the Mukami brothers personally. She has basic knowledge about Founders and other high-rank races thanks to her past, and she is aware of Kino's existence. Digging deeper, Sakamaki brothers (and other purebloods) may be part of some repressed memories of her participation in the Coming of Age Ceremony, as one of the Ghouls attacking the participants.
• When the rumors spread and she learns that she's free because of Kino's actions, she feels immensely grateful to him, but continues to keep her distance like she does with everyone else. Learning this is part of what gave her more confidence to act more and be less scared of unfair consequences, although that doesn't make her immune to them.
• She is not aware that Karl Heinz = Trismegiste. In other words, she doesn't know that Karl is technically who created her/brought her back to life. She knows he's dead, though, and associates Karl to other deeds.
• She earns money from gigs playing piano or cello in events or fancy reunions she applies or gets invited to (unless it's the Teacher!AU, where she that as a full-time job). She can be pretty frugal with her money, though sometimes most of it is spent in new necessary clothes or gifts for someone special.
