I can imagine in my heart of hearts off screen he is causing one totally canon Lieutenant Claude Anouilh of the Fontaine Armed Forces endless issues. I can believe.

But in all seriousness I'm super interested in this because of the potential for some more Harbinger interaction. Other than Siggy and him (and some implied mostly off screen interactions) we really don't have any and Arlecchino in particular is also there. She and Childe have some honestly super fascinating contradictory beliefs in child raising (childe does anything to keep their innocence while she seemingly raises them so they would be prepared for anything regardless of what they have to go through). Other than Pulcinella and Columbina (though all 3 for very different reasons), Arlecchino is definitely the one I'm most interested in seeing interact with Childe.

Dating all the Fatui Harbingers is a full time job, not only are you being showered with Mora and gifts from some of the richest people in Teyvat you deal with all their petty drama.

Like a mother to all your boyfriends and girlfriends.

They come barging into your room ranting about what the other harbingers have done. How they “ruined” their plans. 

This mainly comes from Dottore and Pantalone. Sometimes one will come into the room and start ranting while the other is close behind. 

Pierro, Columbina, Arlecchino, and Capitano are the tamer of the bunch. If you need peace and quiet from the drama you go to them. They’ll shower you with kisses and treats to make you feel better.

But don’t get me wrong the other half would absolutely shower you with love… in their own weird twisted fates. 

Like dottore wouldn’t experiment on you but will weirdly give you a still beating heart claiming his undying love for you. 

Tartaglia would train you to fight because he wants you to fend for yourself (and to also spar with him much to Capitano’s dismay) 

During the fatui meetings they would have a special room setup for you with a little place to relax. 

And as soon as the meeting ends it’s kind of like school lunch where kids would run so fast to the lunchroom to be first in line. Like that but in a more calm manner. 

Except for Childe

He would be that kid that would run straight to the lunchroom. He would burst through the room scaring you to death yelling “BABE!” 

He would engulf you in a bear hug

It would take Capitano to take him off of you by how tight of a hold he has on you.

Dates with the Harbingers is always fun, whatever you want to do they would absolutely provide.

Want to go to an Opera? Pantalone has VIP tickets to the latest popular show.

Want to eat at a fancy restruant? Arlecchino reserved a whole restruant in Fontaine.

Want to just relax and read? Columbina would cuddle with you as she reads you a book

Want a nice stroll in the stormy winter? Capitano will walking with you, and he'll make sure you'll have his thick fluffy jacket swamping you.

Kisses are always fun, the variety of kisses you would recieve varies from mood and who is giving you the kiss.

Capitano and Pierro is always so soft and gentle, he's a big man and he doesn't want to hurt you. His lips always ghosting your skin, milimeters away from your lips. His giant bear hands gently cupping your face as he plants a gentle kiss.

The exact opposite of Dottore, that man will straight up bite you with his shark teeth.

Your lips will be bloodly and bruise when he's done with you. He's rough when he's kisses you.

He would forcefully grab your face with one hand and shove his lips on you. He wouldn't give a romantic kiss, never. But it's always one of greed and tension.

He's got some pent up anger he needs to release. And that just so happens to be your mouth.

Arlecchino is soft...ish. She would be soft but part of her would spice it up with fun.

Loves teasing you she would pretend like she was going to kiss you and but then suddenly pull away. Saying something like "oh someone needs me." Always has a shit eating grin on her face when she makes up some bull excuse.

Columbina and Childe is always a gamble, it would either be soft and tender or chaotic and rough. Really depends on what they are feeling.

Unless it's infront of his family, Childe would be all lovey dovey infront of his family. But would absolutely tease you when they're not looking

Pantalone is a no PDA guy in public except for his arm sling around your waist. Other than that kisses are only for the most intimate moments. When it's just you two, and no one else to disrupte them.

Readers father was the younger child of the kamisato clan and did not getting chosen to be the head, when ayato's father died your father tried to take over but was stopped, so he sent you to mess with ayato. But instead of that you saw this as a great situation to gain a powerful ally, so you gave him good advice and taught him how to run the kamisato clan. Later in the future you and ayato do not get along personality wise but he is very platonic yandere for you and stops all you attempts to move out of inazuma and start business in liyue. kazuha becoming yandere when you help him escape inazuma, gorou and kokomi turning when you trick some tenryou soldiers, itto falling when you smack him with a fan for being an idiot, heizou becoming yandere when he sees how smart you are, yae Miko falling when you turn one of her tricks against her and ei turning simply because your good at making Dango.

Yandere yakshas x isekaid bird reader. The reader is from another world where genshin doesn't exist and gets isekaid and wakes up as a bird. The reader trains and eventually gets blessed by morax who gives the reader a human form and invites them to the yaksha. You quickly become close to them and trust them alot, when they fall victim to the gods curses they all fight each other to get you eventually wiping each other out, in the future Xiao is extremely overprotective of you because your the only one he was left.

Yandere venti x childhood friend bird reader(sorry about the double birds I just really like them) when venti was just a wind spirit travelling with the nameless bard they found an injured bird and nursed it back to health, little did the nameless bard know the bird he saved was actually an extinct but very powerful breed of bird, reader and venti both being wind based beings are able to communicate with each other and agreed to become friends. Later when the nameless bard died and venti became on archon he granted reader a human form and you protected mondstadt. When durin came into the picture you got pierced with dragon claws nine times and fell into the ice of dragonspine, spending 500 years under ice until you wake up again. When you wake you notice how much mondstadt has changed, meanwhile venti is getting news about you from the wind and freaking out. Before you know it your trapped in stormterrors lare where venti refuses to let you leave.

Btw these are probably going to ooc since there isn't much canon content about most of the Harbingers nonetheless, pls send requests about them because i'm in love

Arlecchino pretends to be annoyed, but actually it doesn't bother her that much you being clingy. She runs an orphanage and has met plenty of clingy children who wouldn't let her alone a moment.

Sometimes she finds it frustrating - and may tell you to just leave her alone in a not-so-friendly way - but soon notices how much she actually values your presence. Arlecchino had always taken you for granted, only to regret ignoring how your affection mattered.

Even then though, Arlecchino won't openly show how she appreciates your behaviour and would instead jokingly tease you and compare you to the children in the orphanage, much to you dismay.

Bonus characters:

Il Dottore, used to be perceived as a heartless mad scientist, finds you affection amusing. Most people would be scared to be that close to him, yet you don't hesitate to follow him even when he is experimenting.

He has no problem with letting you stay with him in his laboratory when he is working, but you have to be careful not to get too close to his specimen, because he won't be nice if you ruin his work.

Apart from this, you make his laboratory feel more lively - and he feels a little more human.

Being quite the materialist, Pantalone believes that the reason you are so clingy and always around him is because of his money. You wouldn't be the first to be attracted by his wallet instead of his actual persona.

But it feels nice to be the centre of someone else's world, so he starts to warm up toward you - once he realizes you are not after his money. Sometimes, though, the amount of attention you reserve him is almost overwhelming and distracts him from his work.

Sandrone doesn't mind you being clingy at least she isn't actively researching on Automatons - she is always researching, but most of the time she is fine with you observing her work closely.

So as long as you aren't a source of distraction, Sandrone finds you even pleasing. Being always surrounded by machines, having a human around - someone she can talk and interact with, someone who loves her, feels good.

++ if you wish to, Sandrone will let you sit beside her on her Automaton. And she doesn't mind if you need to hold onto her to avoid falling.

Childe is surprised - people either succumb against him or run away. You are quite the odd one. Not gonna lie, he would like to fight you too, but changes his mind because you are almost more entertaining just being around him.

The main reason why he lets you be this close is because you remind him of Teucer, sharing the same enthusiasm and love toward him, you remind Childe of home.

And he is just as clingy toward you, holding you close whenever he gets the chance, so he finds it to be perfect.

So I was listening to the song Rawhide (specifically the Happy Feet 2 version), and that alone gave me an idea: lifting the Harbingers. Like, chubby reader that looks all soft and sweet but can easily lift two anemoboxers onto their shoulders.

Of course, no one believes how strong this sweet softie is at first. Hell, someone bets 20,000 mora for each Harbinger they can lift, making everyone else laugh. That laughing turns to a shocked silence when the reader just says, "Bet."

They leave for a while, only to come back with Childe, several Dottores, Pantalone, and Columbina chilling on their arms and shoulders.

"Does it count if it's more than one of the same Harbinger? Asking for the segments."

THE SEROTONIN THIS BRAINROT IS GIVING ME. AHHHHH WDBEWKDBEUWDBWD *screams silently* I mean everyone thought you were at least a little bit strong, you're in the Fatui after all you know? But lifting these Harbingers like they're a fly?? 😭 AND they're okay with it?? Who are you...? 😨 lmao reader better up their prices. 200,000 Mora sounds more like it 😛 Childe is so impressed, not only are you so attractive but you're also so strong?? He wants to fight you right now!! And maybe take you out later... 🤭 Bina probably fell asleep on you... you're so comfy and she doesn't need to worry about being dropped because you're so strong! Basically for each harbinger I give them 1 hc and yes it involves being a relationship w/ them, so basically romantic/fluff hcs. ( I also included The Tsaritsa because why not?)

warning: none, maybe just mention of romance and y/n anyways.(SLIGHT mention of experimentation and blood for Dottore!)

Capitano: He doesn't show his face because he has this massive scar that he doesn't like other people seeing. BUT, when he and his darling are alone. He will take of his mask if his s/o wants to see his face! ♡

Columbina: When her s/o can't sleep she'll hum them a melody in hopes that they fall asleep to it, if not, then she'll stay awake with them doing whatever her s/o wants to do. ♡

Dottore: He isn't afraid to mention all the horrible things he's done through his experimentation but, when his s/o enters the room he'll instantly change the subject if his lover isn't comfortable with blood. If they are then he'll talk about the less extreme ones to them. He doesn't want to scare them! ♡

Arlecchino: As said in my "harbinger as your pen-pals", she is very soft towards her s/o. She only shows this side of her to them, no one else. When her and her s/o argue she will never scream, like Dottore she doesn't want to scare them, so instead of screaming nonsense she'll try to calm her s/o down during these fights. Even sometimes when her s/o is feeling sad she'll give them small drawings of bunnies. (if you read the "Harbingers as pen-pals, you know why I chose bunnies.) ♡

Sandrone: She almost hates it when her s/o is in her lab, she doesn't want them to get hurt! The only thing she likes about them being there is that she gets to see them but, her lab is too dangerous for them. If you're a mechanic or interested in engineering, then she'll happily let you stay for a short period of time if she's not building any dangerous automatons. Maybe she'll teach them a thing or two about being a mechanic! ♡

Tartaglia: When he and his s/o go on a date, it's either going to be one a trip somewhere fun (amusement park for example) or just a place where they can go shopping or a trip to his home in Snezhnaya. When it's going to visit his family him and his s/o are always busy taking care of Childe s' younger siblings. Maybe going outside sometimes for a snowball fight or to just build a snowman. When there's a snowball fight Tartaglia always lets the younger ones win but after some time he won't be as nice (of course while not inuring anybody, he will just test the younger one s' skills!) ♡

Pierro: So like there's a theory that he's from Khaenri'ah.. What if he were to tell his s/o about his experiences there and all the interesting stories and events that happened to him when he was and lived there! I feel like he would definitely describe all the remarkable places of that region and maybe tell his s/o about all the myths and tales he's heard of! ♡

Pulcinella: ALRIGHT SO I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM SO, I don't really expect him to have a s/o but to just be that uncle that comes in when Tartaglia and his s/o (Tartaglia s' s/o) decide to go on a date elsewhere. I feel like he'd be the one taking care of the kids even though Ajax s' parents are still around just to yk, give a hand to the struggling parents.

Signora: No because she would definitely let he s/o borrow her things (mostly jewelry and clothes) like "oh, you need a top that matches your pants? Here take mine, it's perfect for you!" I feel like she'd also fix her s/o s' hair or basically anything that makes her get closer contact with her s/o. ♡

Pantalone: Like Signora, he will also let his s/o borrow his stuff like jewelry and more BUT, if he sees that his s/o is particularly asking for one item that they already asked for a lot of times. He will buy them a pair so that they cant match AND when they do wear it, I feel like he'd also wear his too even though it doesn't match his outfit. ♡

Scaramouche: SO if you read "Harbingers as pen-pals" then you will know I associated him w/ music. I feel like if his s/o is a musician he would love that, they don't even need to be musicians they just need to be able to play an instrument! I feel like together they would possibly play classical songs from Inazuma that he has learned to play when he was wondering around as Kunikuzushi! BUT, if his s/o does not play any instrument. He won't hold back to play Inazuman songs with his own instrument if it means that his s/o will be happy! ♡

The Tsaritsa: I hc her to be a very buys lady! But, she will always try to make time for her s/o. I hc her to always incite them to tea parties to which they will be the only guest (so it will only be her and her lover) I hc the place chosen for the tea party to be somewhat meaningful to her or to her s/o. I also hc it to be very pretty, maybe like an interior garden that her s/o loves? From there, they will chat about what ever her s/o is interested to talk about! Sometimes she'll bring up how she was in her Archon form! She will also talk about the Harbingers and her plans but, when she's with her s/o I hc her to only devote her attention to them and not thinking about other people who aren't her s/o. So, she won't talk much about the Harbingers AND I also hc her to not want her s/o to be affiliated with her troubles so she will only talk about her plans if her s/o is curious about them and decides to question her about it! ♡

hello im new here but i saw your sanctuary au and i really like it!! unfortunately trying to go through the tag only yielded me two posts and i know there's more bc i saw another one while scrolling the whole blog but anyway that's to say if you've talked about the others who are at the sanctuary i only saw Dain's detailed post and here i sit wondering about sanctuary au dottore and/or capitano and how they interact with foul legacy (based on a canon voiceline is our moth wanting to politely spar with cap or does he just try to fight him at any given opportunity? i think i saw that dot can teleport so what kind of shenanigans does he get himself into?) im going to try to search for the rest of the sanctuary au posts as well i love this au

HARBINGERS!!!! MORE HARBINGERS I LOVE THE HARBINGERS- i usually portray Foul Legacy Childe as less battle hungry than in game, but i think he'd still be up for some friendly sparring with a monstery Capitano!! you tell them both that you prefer no blood drawn, but they usually end up with a few nicks here and there, and you simply sigh and sit both of them down to be patched up. Childe still admires Capitano a little bit because he's strong and powerful, but honestly more than anything they both admire YOU for keeping your sanity intact while dealing with multiple Abyss monsters, some of which are NOT as polite and peaceful as Childe

example: Dottore

he probably ranks second in terms of "most chaotic", outdone only by Columbina- but you'd actually rather take care of Columbina, since she's fairly cheerful and likes snuggling, which always calms her down. Dottore on the other hand is not so easily pacified, and yes, he can teleport. now usually he'll tell you if he wants to go outside (or is going outside, you can't really stop him), but sometimes he unconsciously teleports when he's asleep, and when he wakes up he immediately starts getting into mischief. he doesn't panic at all, which is nice, but he also does what he wants and will do it NOW until he gets bored. additionally, the only person he has a chance of listening to is you, so whenever he suddenly appears in some city you'll get immediately contacted, either by friends or officials, to come and get your science-loving Harbinger monster. he'll hiss and sulk a bit, but usually he listens when you say he can continue his experiments at home

and while he trots off to the little lab he's constructed, you slump over in Childe's arms, exhausted from a day of chasing down a stubborn Dottore

Childe: "He was the first ever Fatui Harbinger, and today he is our leader. He only appears on important occasions. As for his accomplishments... To be honest, I don't really care. I owe my loyalty and devotion to the Tsaritsa, no one else."

Scara: "The Jester is a survivor of Khaenri'ah. Besides that singular fact, I know very little about him, and have never had any kind of close association with him. He seems to want something from me, though. In the past, he assigned me to many important tasks, including a number of trips to the Abyss."

Childe: "I heard that he took segments of himself at different ages, made prostheses out of them, and assigned different tasks to each one. I know... all my comrades are a little weird. Well, come to think of it, if I met another version of myself... Hah, we'd have to fight then and there to decide which one of us gets to survive."

Scara: "It's a pity that Lesser Lord Kusanali already forced him to erase so many of his segments. The joy I would have derived from slicing them apart one by one..."

The 3rd Harbinger: Damselette (Columbina)

Childe: "The Fatui Harbingers are ranked by strength, and I have no idea why that girl is No. 3. I'd test my skills with every Harbinger who ranks above me if I had the chance, but when it comes to her... something just doesn't feel right. Anyway, you should be careful around her."

Scara: "Let me ask: what should you do if you were to encounter a "damsel" who is oblivious and innocent at any given time, and unconcerned and unfeeling in any given situation? If it were me, I could at least challenge her to a fight. But if it were you... with your conscience, I would stay away from her."

The Captain (Il Capitano)

Childe: "I've seen him in battle before, and oh what a sight it was. Perhaps I'm ranked too low for him to notice me right now. Well, he may not recognize my strengths yet, but one day, I'll show him what I'm made of."

Scara: ""The ever-righteous Captain," "the brave and fearless Captain," "the nigh-invincible Captain"... Even my mechanical ears demand maintenance after listening to so many compliments from the members of the Fatui. Don't you think that possessing absolute righteousness is actually a latent danger? And that's without taking his great personal strength into account."

The 5th Harbinger: The Rooster (Pulcinella)

Childe: "I don't know what his motivations could be, but he seems genuine about wanting to help me. He treats me just like family. Oh, and speaking of family — Tonia and Teucer are always telling me about the pastries and other gifts he brings them when they write. So while I've been away from Snezhnaya, he's kept his promise to take care of my family."

Scara: "Only someone as dense as Childe would think The Rooster is looking after him and his family out of the goodness of his heart. Although the mayor has indeed done a number of things for their benefit, anyone with a brain would be able to tell that the underlying meaning is "your entire family is in my hands.""

The (former) 6th Harbinger: Balladeer (Scaramouche)

Childe: "After he took the Gnosis, we lost all contact with him. Now comes the task of trying to hunt it down and get it back... I actually don't mind it — it means I get to travel all over. Wonder if I'll run into you somewhere along the way?" (this line disappears once you finish the Archon Quest Interlude Act III Inversion of Genesis)

The 7th Harbinger: Marionette (Sandrone)

Childe: "She always seems engrossed in her research. Hmm... I wonder if those machines have anything to do with her? Anyway, I've only met her a few times, but every time she looked like she wanted to murder me. I have no idea what I possibly could have done to annoy her, though."

Scara: "She has a terrible personality and cares for nothing outside of her own research. But even with that amount of dedication, she still produced a copious amount of garbage, and could only secure a ranking that's still one whole place beneath my own. How pitiful."

The (former) 8th Harbinger: The Fair Lady (La Signora)

Childe: "I never got along with her, you know that. I guess there's not much more worth saying about her at this point. When you're a Harbinger, you have to accept that death could come at any time... But don't worry about me. No matter what happens, I'll do whatever it takes to keep myself alive."

Scara: "Nothing remained in her ashes. I have no interest in those who have lost their future."

The 9th Harbinger: Regrator (Pantalone)

Childe: "Oh, now that guy has a head full of grandiose plans fueled by raw ambition. I don't understand a word he says once he starts talking about his theories... Eh, but as long as he keeps our cash reserves stocked up, I'm not complaining."

Scara: "Oh, the ninth-ranked guy. He's obsessed with the idea of "fair exchange", to the point of wanting to overthrow the natural imbalance between gods and humans. But, I guess it's just how ordinary mortals are like — it's easy for them to come up with pointless delusions. Honestly, it's nothing worth writing home about, just like how there's also nothing impressive about his abilities or choice of partner. Hmph. Anyone who chooses to work closely with The Doctor is sure to meet a nasty end."

The Knave (Arlecchino)

Childe: "Look, I've got nothing against people who have their own agendas — I myself joined the Fatui to get more experience in combat. But I don't like her at all. If she stood to benefit from betraying others, she'd turn against the Tsaritsa in a heartbeat. There isn't a sane bone in her body."

Scara: "A wolf in a sheep's clothing. To exert a higher level of control over people, she puts on a graceful and cordial front. Most of those who have seen her true, crazy self... have gone poof."

headcanon time! i posted this on my old blog but it was a little bit outdated so i'll fix that right up. this post delves into how i picture childe's relationship with the fatui, with a particular focus placed on the other harbingers. i'll cover the tsaritsa and how he views subordinates as well. word isn't law with these as they can develop or we can plot different threads if you write one of these muses, but this is sort of a default that i'll approach unless we decide upon otherwise. as always, under the cut for length.

the tsaritsa - after feeling rejected by most of his family and village, childe views her as the one person that doesn't reject him. she welcomed him among the harbingers with open arms and kind words, and it's why he's so fiercely loyal. he truly believes that her heart is good and wishes to help her achieve her goals. he feels a kinship with her, and strives to do well in his role because of that. he's often been called the tsaritsa's dog because of his loyalty.

the jester - childe recognizes him as the leader but honestly doesn't think of him too much. he has enough sense to be respectful and obviously follows orders, but he doesn't feel any loyalty to him. he is a bit wary of him, because part of him believes pierro's ideals may not necessarily align with the tsaritsa's (as most of the harbingers don't). he would like to challenge him to a fight, though.

the captain - childe admires him greatly. he knows a warrior when he sees one, and he'd love to cross blades with him, even if it'll be certain defeat on his own end. he simply wants the honor of learning from a battle with someone like him. as a new recruit when he'd first joined the fatui, capitano was a bit of a hero to him. he views him a bit like a goal to overcome one day, despite his admiration. he wants to best him in his quest to become stronger.

the doctor - of all of his coworkers, dottore is among the ones that childe likes the least. he keeps his distance as much as he can, because the guy gives him the creeps. he doesn't know all of the details, but he's heard stories about all the different sorts of experiments the doctor and his segments (rip) get up to, and he wants no part in that.

the damselette - one of his comrades that he knows the least, he keeps his distance from her too as something just feels incredibly off about her. he's curious, of course, because he'd like to fight her too (he wants to fight all of his comrades), but there's a hidden darkness about her that gives even him pause. he mostly just doesn't understand columbina. a lot of his coworkers he believes he's gotten a pretty good read on, but he can't quite grasp what her deal is. he's not sure he wants to find out.

the knave - like most of the rest of his comrades, she's cold and committed to her own goals. more than the rest of them, she doesn't bother to hide that she has ulterior motives, and wouldn't hesitate to betray any of them. she seems to regard him with indifference.

the rooster - perhaps it is naïve of him, but childe truly believes that aside from the tsaritsa, pulcinella is the only other one among the harbingers that feels an ounce of care for him. he's one of the only ones that regularly makes conversation with childe, and since pulcinella himself spends most of his time in snezhnaya, childe often looks to him for updates on his family. pulcinella has never given him a reason to distrust him. he seems just as loyal to the tsaritsa as childe is, and has been nothing but encouraging from the start. pulcinella was the one that noticed him among the new recruits and helped him climb the ranks so fast, so childe is grateful to him.*

the balladeer - oddly enough, childe always felt a sense of one-sided kinship with him. although scaramouche and he often spared antagonizing words for each other (especially scaramouche, childe usually just responded to his scathing words), he knew that the other was a bit of an oddball among the harbingers, like himself, which is a funny way of putting it considering that all of the harbingers are odd already. he never knew too much, because it wasn't like they were friends, but he was aware that the two of them were seen more like assets/weapons. when he first was promoted to the rank of harbinger, childe tried approaching him and becoming friends because he thought the balladeer was young like himself. naturally, that went horribly...**

the marionette - she seems a bit similar to the doctor in his eyes, the mad scientist type that places their research above all morals and reason. they haven't crossed paths much, but he can tell the disdain is mutual. he figures sandrone, like most of the other harbingers, sees him as some idiotic and incompetent kid.

the fair lady - from the start, signora was always rude to him. she seemed to take joy in undermining him when she could, treating him like he was lesser—more than the others, even. he never knew much about her, as signora seemed to always present herself as some cold-hearted witch. given her place among the harbingers, he knows she has to have some sort of past too. he feels a bit of sympathy, despite everything.

the regrator - his feelings regarding pantalone are mostly neutral. childe tries to maintain a good relationship because he knows pantalone is in charge of the fatui's coffers. he likes to think they're on friendly enough terms since pantalone's entrusted him to oversee the northland bank from time to time, but he knows better than to actually trust a guy like him.

subordinates (skirmishers, mages, named/unnamed npcs/etc.) - childe doesn't exactly try to become buddy-buddy with his underlings (despite silently and unwittingly yearning for friendship/acceptance), but he does respect them. he doesn't actively try to harm them out of a sick sense of joy, nor is he the type to abandon them should a mission go awry. he listens to their opinions and often likes spoiling those that work directly under him. he likes hearing them talk about their families and will often share about his with them. just because he's a good boss to them doesn't mean he's a push over, though. he might not kill them like some of his comrades do, but he doesn't shy away from striking fear in them either, should he need to. because of his respect for them, they respect him, too.

* this is hinted at in scaramouche's voicelines about pulcinella, but childe is absolutely misguided in his view of him. i think pulcinella's closeness to childe's family/childe himself is a means of insurance. by maintaining contact with childe's loved ones pulcinella essentially has childe in the palm of his hands. i hc that pulci does this as a means of ensuring childe will work for him whenever he needs him to. childe's treated a bit like an attack dog, and pulcinella thinks it wise to have someone like that on his side.

** this depends on whether a thread takes place before or after the events of 3.3. if it takes places after, then childe does not remember scaramouche. also, i've inferred that scaramouche and childe might've talked quite a bit because of scara's familiarity with childe's family situation, as well as what he had to say about childe (calling him weak and dumb, lmfao). this coupled with his line to signora about her and childe always complicating things... he seems to, in his own roundabout way, express concern for childe (and signora) so... i won't say they were friends, but i think they definitely talked.

anyway like i said this is all sort of a baseline to how i approach interactions but i'm definitely open to plotting different stuff and absolutely 100% wanna write with other harbingers so! i want childe to have work enemies, work buddies, etc etc. if you write a harbinger/fatui let's ball c:

THE SUDDEN DISAPPEARANCE OF Dottore was dismissed by everyone and they were soon back to doing their work and that's when Pantalone decided to bring up the topic of House of Hearth because it was a bit too boring to work without having an interesting conversation going on. 

"So... what's going in the House of Hearth these days," He asked while trying to cover up his smirk with a straight face but his intentions about asking that question were very clear to Arlecchino. 

"It would be nice if you could just stay out of it. I'll handle it in my way." She stated and Pantalone shrugged while flipping through the pages but the matter with House of Hearth was a serious issue and not something that could be overlooked. "I can present this matter to the Tsaritsa if it gets out of hand. Do you want me to do it?" Pierro asked and Arlecchino sighed "I don't need the Tsaritsa's help for these matters. I believe I am more than capable to handle it on my own. 

"But you clearly aren't handling the situation well..." Said Capitano who had been so quiet during the whole session until now that he went unnoticed by everyone. "I am starting to question your position as a harbinger... Sandrone had to go to the rescue of your team A and Z. Shouldn't you be the one going?"

"I didn't ask her to. According to the last location of my team that went missing, her team was near them so she stepped forward to lead the rescue mission. And I obviously don't want someone who hides his face to tell me how worthy I am of being a harbinger!" Arlecchino raged, snapping the pen in her hand.

"Now there guys, we shouldn't be fighting here. A lot of things have been happening. Let's discuss it and figure out some solutions" Childe suggested. "About the House of Hearth..." Y/N spoke up, "I can buy it."

"And who gives you the right to do that?!" Arlecchino screeched, caught off guard. Y/N turned towards her, raising an eyebrow, "And who gives you the right to stop me? Now that you've been stripped of your title as the owner?"

Arlecchino slammed her fist on the table, leaving the chair to fall from the impact. Columbina smiles and places a hand on Arlecchino's gently "I would suggest we listen to what Y/N has to say. Calm down~" she advised.

"How would you buy it?" Pierro asked. 

"Since Arlecchino had to give up her ownership due to illegal construction, and now the ownership has shifted to Cosmos, I'll buy it from them and transfer ownership to my company, 'Hope.' We've dealt with similar cases, clearing buildings of legal issues. And I don't think I need to explain what 'Hope' is, right?"

"Y/N, be honest with me... are you really the brains behind Hope's network that spans across nations?" Pantalone inquired. Y/N raised an eyebrow at his remark, "Well, what do you think, Mr. Banker? I don't appreciate such remarks."

"My bad, please continue with your plan," Pantalone conceded.

"And of all things we do, we are most famous for handling the legal cases related to any building and that's exactly what Arlecchino is having trouble with. So it would be best if I buy it. Once I have done that, all the matters will be resolved she can have the ownership back and run the orphanage however she wants to and the Cosmos will never show up again." 

"That doesn't sound right..." Capitano stated "What will you gain from doing all this? Taking ownership, clearing out the matter and then giving the ownership back? I don't see you getting benefits from going through so much trouble." 

Y/N chuckled, amused by Capitano's skepticism. "I guess you don't know much about how Hope works. Arlecchino will only be the owner in the eyes of the people but on the paper, the building will still belong to us. She will be allowed to do anything she wants with the building like any owner but the House of Hearth will forever be under Hope. All the buildings we have are that way and the only thing that benefits us is the revenue. 45% of all the revenue made from any activities from the building goes to us. It's just like making us your business partners." 

"What if something illegal happens in the building? How do you handle that case?" Pulcinella asked. "I'm not comfortable revealing more secrets about our business model. All I can say is that we've yet to lose a single court case," Y/N responded.

"But Cosmos is built to keep the harbingers in check and if something illegal in the House of Hearth takes place, they'll show up again," Childe added. 

"Well, once the building is under Hope, Snezhnaya's officials can't seize it because the property now belongs to Fontaine. Technically, the building is still in Snezhnaya, but all legal matters can only be investigated by Fontaine's court or police. If Cosmos wants to take action, they'll have to contact Fontaine and obtain their approval for seizure," Y/N explained.

"That's absurd... It doesn't sit right with me. How does that make sense?" Pantalone questioned. "A nation's officials should easily be able to investigate matters within their own borders. Just because it's under Hope, they're restricted? You have to be kidding me."

"Well, do you think your sense of justice surpasses that of the nation of justice itself? That was the condition when the treaty was signed by all nations, approving our business. The Tsaritsa herself signed it."

"What?" Arlecchino mumbled, her surprise evident. 

"And this very Fatui headquarters... is a building under Hope."

The revelation surprised all the harbinger members. Throughout their years there, they had remained oblivious to these details.

"Then that just makes your position in the harbingers more confusing. If you are from Fontaine and already have a successful business going on... then I don't think you have any motives to be here in the first place... or maybe you are a spy!" Capitano declared, drawing his sword and pointing it at Y/N, causing alarm among the others.

"Ugh, I see... I still haven't made a place amongst all of you. Who said I was from Fontaine? It's just my business that has its headquarters over there. The only archon I believe in is the Tsaritsa and if my memory is correct... I was freaking born here." 

"I don't believe you, and I don't think any of the other harbingers do," Capitano retorted. Y/N observed the skeptical expressions around the room. "Prove that you don't have any ill intentions," he challenged, stepping forward. 

Y/N sighed and glowing dust particles emerged, forming a sword in her hand. The group instinctively prepared for an attack, but they were taken aback when Y/N pointed the sword's tip at herself.

"I could give my life away anytime for the Tsaritsa and I have no problem in proving it."She said and stabbed herself making panic rush through the veins of others when they saw the tip emerge from the other side of her body. Blood splattered out from her mouth and her snow-white coat slowly turned crimson red as she collapsed on the cold floor.

"Y/N!!!"

i have had a strong interest in arlecchino lately, though for now she's discord only because i'm still developing her and figuring out how i want to portray her.

but i am SO in love with her and everything we know about her so far.

spoilers/leaks under the cut!

it's speculated she's the 4th seat in the harbingers, which makes her very powerful. and we know for certain that she runs an orphanage where she indoctrinates children into fatui ranks, and it's possible she's the reason they're orphans to begin with.

arlecchino can appear calm and graceful on the surface, but rarely lets her more unhinged side go, and those who see that disappear. from signora's funeral, she's clearly not fond of the other harbingers, especially when they talk about business during a mourning period.

the way i sort of have her portrayed now is that she's definitely unhinged, and doesn't exactly enjoy her position at the orphanage, but she does let the kids run wild with violence, teaching them early to fight and fight well. and she enjoys columbina, is wary of dottore and is hysterically condescending to childe.

but anyway.

one day i'll bring her to tumblr to write her, but right now i love this woman and can't wait to see what else we learn about her in the future.

Birthday bash is taken way too literally by the Harbingers, to say the least.

My first thought upon reading that is for some reason, a semi friendly free-for-all between the Harbingers and the segments. The other guests are welcome to join but because those are Harbingers and more likely than not, the superiors of some of the guests, they don't join.

The free-for-all ends in the wackiest shit happening. The Harbingers sometimes actually try to kill each other, but because they are drunk by the point they get to the point of the free-for-all, nothing serious ever happens besides minor wounds that most of them don't notice until the next morning or something.

For example, Arlecchino tries to go after Pantalone in earnest on that night, but they are all drunk, she trips over her own feet and drops her knife. She then gets a shot of fire water from someone nearby, she takes it, no second thought about poison needed. Because the harbingers made a pact to not lethally poison each other, and tonight, all poison is off.

She then tries to get up but just can't because she falls again and ends up lying there for a bit. By the time she gets up, she's already forgotten about going after pants.

I want to say something about tartagles getting into fights but I feel like Pulchinella might be feeling the dad instincts and thinks he's too young. Hence tartagles being either on a child leash or somewhere in arms reach of the rooster. Cue tortellini getting stuck in said child leash or something

I think the Tsaritsa is like an exasperated parent trying to corral all of her kids back to their rooms by the end of the night.

The next morning is when all the hungover harbingers get back to work, stopping by the halls to pick up their misplaced weapons that they lost or dropped - like Arlecchino's knife for example.

Anastasiy's birthday in particular is off limits for the bashing him, fortunately. Only because Anastasiy is the precious baby and none of the Harbingers would ever dream of lifting a finger against him, but all the other birthday celebrations are free for alls, including assaulting the person it's for. But if you dare try to murder Anastasiy on his birthday... You are despicable and will be put in gay baby jail by the grandpa himself, and Pulcinella will shame you the whole way there. Not to mention that Anastasiy would probably cry, which even the Harbingers aren't invincible to innocent tears from the baby, even if he's technically not a child.

But yes, the bashing is wild, Dottore has to be physically restrained so he doesn't accidentally murder someone. Pantalone though... He's a sly man, and not as drunk as he appears, which is a surprise to Arlecchino who thinks she's being smooth by sneaking powder into his drink while he's not looking.

Pierro ends up sobbing on Anastasiy's shoulder about how he's "grown up so fast" and "was only as tall as my hip just yesterday" at one point, and has to be ushered away by Capitano to sober up.

Columbina has bitten at least three people by the end of the night, and Capitano has to make sure that Tartaglia doesn't try to use the Foul Legacy against Sandrone, who made fun of him for being a ginger.

Anastasiy ends up dragging his drunk parents back to their rooms to prevent murders from happening, which is a hassle in itself. Drunk Dottore is an absolute gremlin, and Pantalone is... an old man when drunk. Wandering off, muttering to himself, he even counts mora while drunk off his marbles. Hosing them off and tossing them into bed is a feat in itself, and Anastasiy has to lock the door to make sure they don't sneak out to terrorize the innocent.

It's worth it though, but only because he gets to embarrass the other Harbingers later with tales of their drunk shenanigans.

the balladeer - oddly enough, childe always felt a sense of one-sided kinship with him. although scaramouche and he often spared antagonizing words for each other (especially scaramouche, childe usually just responded to his scathing words), he knew that the other was a bit of an oddball among the harbingers, like himself, which is a funny way of putting it considering that all of the harbingers are odd already. he never knew too much, because it wasn't like they were friends, but he was aware that the two of them were seen more like assets/weapons. when he first was promoted to the rank of harbinger, childe tried approaching him and becoming friends because he thought the balladeer was young like himself. naturally, that went horribly...**

the marionette - she seems a bit similar to the doctor in his eyes, the mad scientist type that places their research above all morals and reason. they haven't crossed paths much, but he can tell the disdain is mutual. he figures sandrone, like most of the other harbingers, sees him as some idiotic and incompetent kid.

the fair lady - from the start, signora was always rude to him. she seemed to take joy in undermining him when she could, treating him like he was lesser—more than the others, even. he never knew much about her, as signora seemed to always present herself as some cold-hearted witch. given her place among the harbingers, he knows she has to have some sort of past too. he feels a bit of sympathy, despite everything.

the regrator - his feelings regarding pantalone are mostly neutral. childe tries to maintain a good relationship because he knows pantalone is in charge of the fatui's coffers. him and his underlings dish out the funds to the rest of them for the most part. he likes to think they're on friendly enough terms since pantalone's entrusted him to oversee the northland bank from time to time, but he knows better than to actually trust a guy like him.

the knave - childe would've thought that being so close in rank, arlecchino would be more open to being more friendly with him. he thought wrong. like most of the rest of his comrades, she's cold and committed to her own goals. more than the rest of them, she doesn't hide that she cares for no one except herself, and wouldn't hesitate to betray any of them. he thinks it unfortunate, because he really thought they could at the very least form a bit of an alliance.

subordinates (skirmishers, mages, named/unnamed npcs/etc.) - childe doesn't exactly try to become buddy-buddy with his underlings (despite silently and unwittingly yearning for friendship/acceptance), but he does respect them. he doesn't actively try to harm them out of a sick sense of joy, nor is he the type to abandon them should a mission go awry. he listens to their opinions and often likes spoiling those that work directly under him. he likes hearing them talk about their families and will often share about his with them. just because he's a good boss to them doesn't mean he's a push over, though. he might not kill them like some of his comrades do, but he doesn't shy away from striking fear in them either, should he need to. because of his respect for them, they respect him, too.

* this is hinted at in scaramouche's voicelines about pulcinella, but childe is absolutely misguided in his view of him. i think pulcinella's closeness to childe's family/childe himself is a means of insurance. by maintaining contact with childe's loved ones pulcinella essentially has childe in the palm of his hands. i hc that pulci does this as a means of ensuring childe will work for him whenever he needs him to. childe's treated a bit like an attack dog, and pulcinella thinks it wise to have someone like that on his side.

** this depends on whether a thread takes place before or after the events of 3.3. if it takes places after, then childe does not remember scaramouche. also, i've inferred that scaramouche and childe might've talked quite a bit because of scara's familiarity with childe's family situation, as well as what he had to say about childe (calling him weak and dumb, lmfao). this coupled with his line to signora about her and childe always complicating things... he seems to, in his own roundabout way, express concern for childe (and signora) so... i won't say they were friends, but i think they definitely talked.

anyway like i said this is all sort of a baseline to how i approach interactions but i'm definitely open to plotting different stuff and absolutely 100% wanna write with other harbingers so! i want childe to have work enemies, work buddies, etc etc. if you write a harbinger/fatui let's ball c:

Absolutely loves cats, and as a kid used to wear cat ear headbands. Lots of kitty memorabilia.

Jonas was always holding her until she got too big. Occasionally used to jump from parent to parent like a little monkey.

Her idea for her unique magic came from when she was a very young child and saw her mother's scar.

The very first time she used her unique magic Sabrina and Jonas lost their minds. May have gotten her phone taken for a week but it was funny!

Loves to scare people by taking off her head. Namely Midas. He HATES when she does that.

Loves her mom to death , but would prefer if she didn't keep mentioning the incident where Tia was poisoned at family dinners.

Out of her aunts she's closest to Winona, and takes after in her more serious attitude. And out of her uncles, Johan. For his relaxed and carefree attitude.

Columbina Korpze-Shelby

Was very timid before she came out as trans. Always hiding behind Jekyll's legs and trying not to be seen.

After her transition she's very confident, loves dragging her sister and cousins around like its nobody's business. Especially Midas.

Teases all of her younger family members, and only Malvina can tolerate to scold her.

Lets Bellona and Her father do the food fighting. She prefers to watch.

Doriana used to babysit the girls and is oddly closest to Columbina despite her exuberance and tendency for troublemaking.

Colly loves her aunt Sabrina and tries her best to model herself after her, and her favorite "uncle" is also Johan. Because he never scolds her. Or gets mad at her. Often falls asleep on him.

Bellona Shelby-Poppet

The girl who cried wolf.

Used to cry so much as a kid that Johan and Malvina tend to have the first instinct that she's faking for more attention. Johan can tell the difference.

Her love of puppets unsurprisingly comes from her father , seeing him give columbina a puppet show as a young toddler. Since then she's picked up on his trade.

The scariest dormleader of hexeons yet. Bellona always stands with her intimidating relaxed smile, staring at her members with it. Even in the darkness of their rooms.

Bellona, like her father is a malevolent spirit. And most specifically, a banshee.

No one knows why she was born as one , but ever since she was little she's been able to tell when others around her had little time left.

She has a constant air of doom and gloom around her even with that smile on her face. Out of the cousins she has the least friends.

Doesn't really like any of her uncles and she's not close to her aunts. Just really wants to be left alone with Malvina and Johan.

Avalina Risin

Ava fosters injured and sick animals with her father whenever she's home. There have been a few foster fails because of her. Ones that involved her crying too much when trying to put them up for adoption. So Micah decided to adopt them.

They have successfully acquired 3 dogs and a cat , beyond Avalina's familiar eveline.

She loves her godfather Alucard deeply, and is always around him when she visits him or he visits her. And by proxy, she is very close to his son Effie as well.

Helps Effie in his lab constantly, searching for a cure for Alucard's blood disease.

Micah never left the house when avalina was young. Not even for date nights. Trusting nobody with her. But its not like anyone could .. blame him.

Absolutely inseparable from her parents, especially her father. Loves them to death and has no idea what she'd do without them.

Insecure about her wings. She has four, but they're small for her age so she simply hides them under her robes. Micah always reassures her shes probably just a late bloomer because she's only half cherubim.

Doesn't have a favorite aunt... how could she choose?? But Ondina is very nice to her, and she appreciates that.

Doesn't have a specific reason for her um, other than she always found mold fascinating.

Midas Wulfgang Siphon

Very very sensitive to sound because of his father's bat genetics.

Capable of echolocation. Often uses it so he doesn't trip and fall and make a fool of himself.

Insecure about how big his ears are, especially when his aunts all start tugging at them and teasing.

Hides behind Tiana whenever it gets to be too much , because she doesn't bully him.

Loves great auntie malvina a lot . Mostly because his aunts are all scared of her due to her ability to actually punish them.

Theta is his good friend, and they've taught him how to skateboard.

Prone to jumping at the smallest sounds. Very easy to spook.

A total mama's boy. As a baby he absolutely refused to leave Ondina's arms or lap unless his father would lift him. He was the only exception.

Teething him was an absolute nightmare. Both because of his AND Ondina's crying. She still feels the phantom pains from nursing a teething vampire. Octavius still laughs at her for it.
