Friday was my last day at Valve.

Leaving a job full of people and projects you love is always hard, but I have a pretty good reason for it this time around:

Next Monday is my first day at Cyan.

Feels appropriate to announce this on Riven's anniversary, the game that is entirely to blame for who I am as a concept artist and Art Director. WHO WOULD I EVEN BE if I hadn't had my 11yo mind blown by the little wahrk gallows counting toy in the Rivenese schoolhouse??? It's a mystery.

I can’t talk about what's on the horizon just yet—short of helping to get Riven out the door—but I’m thrilled to finally be a part of this studio, officially, after thirty years of wistful pining. If my ancient Riven fanart is anything to go by, it's been a long time comin.'😎

GEORGE: Wooh! Champion, fuck... Massive relief. It's been such a long, hard season for myself and the team, we worked so hard. We've not had the easiest ride throughout the year, we've had a number of difficult weekends, probably more out of our control to be honest, which has been even more frustrating. So to finally cross the line here in Abu Dhabi winning the championship in style, it's just absolutely incredible.

sooo…it looks like the mysterious book launching July 9th is going to have the title announced and whatnot to bookstores on June 13th, it’s not political and skewed towards a younger audience, and it’s also 544 pages (5+4+4=13) (also that’s a huge book holy shit)

my last shift at work is saturday, so i just did an absurdly huge book shopping spree to get the most out of my employee discount. i went absolutely feral. whatever i liked got added to the stack with no guilt. at the end of it i brought sixteen books up to my coworkers at the register and said “this is the best day of my life”

Bellatrix has been part of the Crimson Fate for thirteen years, and has made close connections with all of them. Shu, though uptight and constantly stressed, is one of her closest friends. Her and Orion love to poke fun at his stoic and matter-of-fact speaking all the time.

Aurelian, after living int he woods for her whole life, is learning about city life. She doesn't know that many terms, and asks every question she can to further her knowledge, but oh gods Shu gets SO FRUSTRATED SO EASY.

Orion and Bella love to push his buttons. And when there's no guests around, Orion can easily make Shu so frustrated he will actually yell.
