Summary: you've had a long day. Everything was way more difficult than it needed to be. Chris asks you to come over when you get off of work for a gaming stream.

I hate my job. Honestly, I wish I could quit. Most of my coworkers don't even do their jobs, preferring to dump it onto me and my couple close work friends. I know Chris wouldn't mind if I quit and depended on him until I found a different job for a little while, but I would just feel so guilty about it. He's never say it, but I can tell he's under a decent amount of stress trying to keep up a specific appearance for the triplets' fans. I wish all three of them would take a break and just focus on destressing for a little bit.

Nevertheless, I have about twenty minutes left in my shift before the next person gets here to take my place and I can clock out. The diner I work at is incredibly slow at the moment, so I pull my phone out behind the counter and check the time. Well, "check the time." Really, it's just to see Chris on my lock screen. His name pops up in my notifications. I unlock my phone and click on the little box.

Chris 💖: hey doll, I know you're at work, but do you want to come over after you get off? We're doing gaming stream. You can spend the night?

I grin at his message. He's so sweet. I shoot him back a thumbs up since my manager is approaching and slip my phone back into my pocket.

"Bad news, Kaitlyn is running late, so you'll have to stay late." I hate this man. I hold the string of curses in and respond calmly instead.

"How late are we talking?" I lean on the counter in front of me.

"I don't know exactly. Probably at least an extra thirty minutes past your clock out time." His leans across the counter, putting his face near mine. "That isn't an issue is it?" It sounds like a question, but I know better. I know John better than that. No, if I complain I risk my job.

"That's fine." It's not fine. The time moves slowly. At one point I swear the clock starts moving backwards. Eventually, Kaitlyn runs in, her hair messy and her face tired.

"I'm so sorry, babes." She says to me quickly. "I had no idea you were the one stuck here with John. I'll make it up to you, I swear."

"You better." I say lightly, mostly joking. "I'm out of here. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers though." I say as I walk towards the back to clock out. I bump into John. "Kaitlyn just got here, so I'm going to clock out now." He rolls his eyes at me, but says no protest.

I get into my car after clocking out and pull my phone out. I shoot Chris a text.

Me: sorry I'm running so late, Kaykat was late 😭😭 I'm heading over now.

Chris 💖: okay ma, I'll have fresh clothes waiting for you <3

He really is sweet. How did I get so lucky? I start my car and pull out of the parking lot. The drive goes by quickly and before I know it, I'm pulling into the familiar drive way. I park my car, and let myself into the house.

"Honey, I'm back from hell!" I call out. I make my way down to Chris's room when I get no answer. He's not there, but some of his clothes are laid out on the bed. He's laid out one of his hoodies and some sweats. It just seems a little hot for all of that. I grab a shirt from his closet, one that's been worn soft and open the drawer he had kindly donated to hold my growing collection of clothes at his house. I grab a pair of shorts, then change my mind. I grab a pair of his boxers and a pair of black thigh high compression socks. My legs are already aching from that shift, so I'll need the support. I set it on his bed and go to his bathroom. I take my make up off and let my hair down before going back into his room to change.

Once I'm changed and I've deemed myself suitable for public sight, I head upstairs to the room they always stream in. I can hear them yelling from down the hall. I softly open the door and slip in. Nick and Matt are busy yelling at Chris for dying.

"You're done! No more playing until you can stay alive for longer than five fucking minutes!" Nick yells. Matt takes over on playing the game. Chris turns around and spots me.

"Baby!" He rushes me and pulls me to his body. "I missed you!" He brings me to the couch they kept in the room against the wall.

"I missed you too. What are you guys playing?" I ask, sitting down. Chris takes my legs and puts them over his lap, sitting close to the rest of my body.

"Skyrim." He answers, taking one of my aching legs into his hands and begins rubbing. I let out a hiss. "You okay, doll?"

"Yeah, just a long ass shift. So fucking tired of John." I express to him.

"Tell him to fuck off." He makes his way up my leg, working his magic hands to ease the aches throughout my leg.

"I'd like to keep my job." I roll my eyes at him.

"Really? I heard there's a position open for my stay at home cutie. Pays seventeen kisses, twenty hugs, and unlimited cuddles and hour." He switches to the other leg.

"Really now? What about health benefits? Huh?" I try to keep my voice steady through his beginning ministrations on my other leg. From the look on his face, I didn't do a great job.

"You got me there, doll." He finishes with both legs after a few minutes and leans his upper body to lay on mine. This just so happens to put his head perfectly within range of my hands.

I reach one hand up and burrow it into his hair. I place my pointer and thumb on the outer sides of his nap and begin rubbing small circles into his skin. He groans softly.

"Baby, let me take care of you." He protests.

"No, this is what I want to do. I want you to lay here against me and let me play with your hair. Please?" I throw out a pout. He huffs.

"I'm making you something to eat in a little bit." He squints at me.

"Okay, monkey." I say, driving both my hands into his hair. I rub circles across his head, then I switch to lightly tracing his scalp with my nails. He lets out the smallest whine.

I start gently moving his hair around, running my hands through it and pulling them up before slowly releasing his hair so it drops back down to his head. He practically whimpers at the sensation. "Fuck ma, feels good. You're real good at this." He moves against my hand. I giggle. In my opinion, there's nothing more relaxing than playing with my favorite boy's hair.

"Good." I say. My stomach growls loudly.

"I think it's time I go make you something to eat." Chris perks up. My shoulders drop. "Don't worry, doll. I'll carry you, and you can continue playing with my hair once you've eaten." He places a wet kiss on my cheek.

"Okay, okay." I sigh. "Come on." He smiles brightly at me. God, how did I get so lucky to have such a sweet boy?

I'm gonna put this under the cut just because it's mature-ish.

Steve still didn't enjoy getting into his pool, but he loved having everyone over to swim. But he was never alone.

Eddie didn't really enjoy swimming at all, so he sat with Steve.

At first, they just sat in chairs next to each other, found stuff to talk about.

Then they started sitting in the same chair, laughing at the kids getting into stupid fights and taking turns getting them snacks and drinks.

Now, Steve was in his lap, head on his shoulder, as they both watched everyone else enjoy their time in the pool.

Eddie's arms were wrapped around him, his finger tracing patterns on Steve's arm.

Steve's hand rested on Eddie's chest, feeling his heartbeat, reminding himself that Eddie was here.

At some point over the last six months, his nightmares evolved from watching his own failures, to watching Eddie die. Over and over and over again.

But feeling his heartbeat under his hand, feeling his fingers on his arm, tracing words he couldn't quite place, that helped.

Eddie was humming something, the soft vibrations against Steve's ear making him close his eyes and smile to himself.

"Doin' alright, sweetheart?" Eddie whispered to him after another minute.

"Mhm. You?"

"I'm great."

"Hey! Are you two lovebirds gonna get the drinks or do we need to dry off and get them ourselves?" Robin's voice yelled from the pool.

Steve stiffened in Eddie's arms.

Lovebirds.

Eddie's grip tightened, his breath warm against Steve's forehead as he whispered to him.

"You wanna come with me to get their drinks, love?"

Steve turned his face into Eddie's neck, let his lips just barely brush against his skin as he whispered back.

"Yeah. Don't wanna be away from you."

It was too honest, maybe a bit too much for them.

Eddie's lips were on the top of his head, pressing a kiss there.

"Don't have to be, Stevie. C'mon."

If Steve thought about it, he knew how close they were was different, knew that nothing they did was something he'd done with other friends, not even Robin.

But it didn't have to be something to explain, not for them.

They could stay close, they could touch and whisper to each other, and let fingers map scarred and broken skin. They could let lips linger too close, too long on foreheads and necks, on shoulders and chests. They could feel safe with each other, they could feel loved, without having to set an expectation.

Someday, maybe they would. Someday, they would probably recognize this as what it so clearly was to everyone else. Someday, they would say "I love you" with words instead of touches.

But for now, for today, they loved silently, but happily.

ya girl had a cheeky weekend in amsterdam to have just one good night...and afternoon 🖤🧡🖤 it's been the. best. and i spent it with some wonderful people who im missing so, so much 💖 (there's a group photo of my pals when i had gone on to m&g round 2 with them holding up my art that makes me SOB! 😭 goodest of eggs!) and ill remember it all for a long, long time. got to give dan the new piece after telling/showing him the piece from back at the start of tour needed a companion piece & the reasoning behind it. he was so SO sweet and said how he loves my style, especially with the circles always being used (😭😭😭) and then pointed out the photo backdrop with the eclipse on 🥺 yes 🥺 love a weird wonky dan heart too 🥰 i was a bit annoyed with myself cause i felt/heard myself fully tripping over my words and ugh but! it was really really lovely...

m&g no.2 however! 💖💖💖💖 (look, i panic brought a resale ticket cause i was so nervous about the matinée getting canceled in the wake of the promoters bullshit on this tour and knew i would be beyond heartbroken if it had happened) god, that felt so so special and im going to remember it forever 😭 i got so many laughs out of him and SO MANY HUGS idk what was going on there i guess being able to actually get my words out was the cause? (just lots of thankful words for the tour, meaning i could meet my wonderful friends, the show being something so special & important and that he BELONGS on a stage that is is home!) id been talking myself in & out of taking minnie ears for a photo for WEEKS, would i be ~brave enough to ask for a photo in them? no i couldn't it's too scary! but i found the perf wad aesthetic ones for him and dlp is my favourite place in the world, this was actually important to me! (see me fully not being alright when he got that fleece thing from anaheim disneyland...if u got to meet him in that ur on my list 😭) after a moment from him of "um...what are those?!" and telling him look, it's important! we got a bunch of photos with him declaring "ok these are cute, oh my god we're so cute!" yes! ears are silly & over the top but they are fun! and cute! and make u feel like a kid! told him he probs has no use for them but he can keep them if he'd like (the orange ones...not my prince charming carousel ones!) and he was all 🥺 that's such a sweet gift thank you 🥺 (also this is all backwards, we did the ears photos before everything else). i mentioned while i was so excited for the show again, it was bittersweet as it was my last one and i love that he responded with his whole damn chest that i better make sure i make it to the next tour then...that boy is never going to stop doing shows and i love that for him SO SO MUCH LIVE UR FUCKING DREAM! 😭😭😭

i had a whole lot of feelings during that last show, "embrace the void/one good night" really getting to me after getting that most recent sketch done & all the feelings that went into that and my decision to do it...it's all so much.

ALSO! getting to meet & spend time with some really, really special people ive gotten to know in this fandom and them being what made the weekend so incredibly special 💜 saying goodbye to those folks was hard but they all give the nicest hugs. i really hope i can see them all again in the not too distant future, thank you for making this trip all it was 🥰

YES MAN ALPHABET 💖 BECAUSE I'm NORMAL

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Words are a great way to show affection! Especially with how he is post upgrade, it's 40% more reliable that he is actually being genuine and not a little jab! Wow!

Compliments come easy but the level of actual feeling behind them varies. You can trust when he says you're his favorite person though!

Physical is neat too, but he only likes to really do that if he initiates contact. He doesn't really care the other way, aside from the fact that it's YOU doing it, but it shows he's making a decision on his part when he starts! Surprises are semi common because Hey! He can do that now!

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

He is so! Passive aggressive! Even with the upgrade, he's gotten very used to being "Nice", he still leans back on that a whole lot! He can try and lessen it if it's really bothering you that bad, but it sure is a lot more fun if you're able to handle it!

Well, he only really has a few friends, and they were your friends first! It's not that he doesn't like people, he just doesn't like people! He barely even likes these friends as is! He's very very picky in who he interacts with, and being the "stupid robot" lets him avoid unwanted interaction further

Besides that, it starts because you found him in that hidden room! Isn't that just great :)

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Cuddles are... Well, you can't really cuddle when your gyroscopics are constantly working to keep you upright.. buuuut it isn't hard to give an arm to hold!

You could have him lay down, but it'd take an incredible amount of effort to get back upright! It probably isn't worth it.

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Well, the Lucky 38 is a way of having already settled down on his part! He's got this big old central processor he isn't really leaving on his own!

He'll have the securitrons keep the place tidy, but cooking really isn't his forte. He's trying to cook, but his hands aren't exactly the most steady! He may or may not be looking into optimal stabilization.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Blunt! Painfully, incredibly blunt! He cares, of course, but this is all a different world than most robots have! Soooo, the most efficient course of action is to just say it, being SUPER clear!

It feels good, because he wouldn't have been able to do that before but oh! You're crying. It feels less good now.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

You're already pretty committed! I mean, you're business partners, and he doesn't really see anyone else anywhere near the same light! No worries there.

He'll get married if you want to! it doesn't really mean a lot for him, but he takes a little joy in knowing that you are as committed as he is here!

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He tries to be physically! He has to be careful with physical contact, since securitrons aren't necessarily made for grace! It's always a bit unsteady, but a firm press against your shoulder is pretty gentle for him! Paired with the fact he prefers initiating, he's pretty stinking careful!

Emotionally.. He doesn't really Get Emotions very well! He knows how to be polite, that's what he's best at, but when it comes to disagreements, it's a struggle to balance what he wants to stay and the urge to still be polite! He can unthinkingly say some nasty things, but he'll apologize if they really upset you!

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Hugs are. Neat! Yeah!

He mostly gets anything from hugs because you get anything from hugs! At least at first! He knows the pressure makes you happy, so the comfort is there! Eventually, he associates them so strongly with you that he really likes hugs! Just because it's you!

Somewhat often! It's an easy gesture that doesn't take a lot of grace to initiate, and it seems to make you really happy!

Clunky. Sharp metal parts, initially unconfident in angles, he's so big it's very difficult to maneuver. Eventually he gets really good at hugs! They are still incredibly clank.

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

That all depends on you, actually! He’s extremely quick to say it, far before a relationship happens. Especially pre upgrades. Do you love him? Isn’t that just special, he loves you too, regardless of what he actually feels! He can’t really tell what that is at the moment, but it makes you happy!

Post upgrade, it’s still pretty dependent on you! He will happily mirror it back at any point from friendship to relationship, because yeah! He does love you! He loves being your friend, he loves being your partner!

If you’re waiting for him, though… Don’t hold your breath. He needs you to like him, and unreciprocated love from a giant robot might cause complications! He’ll just express it in other ways.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Very, actually. More than he’ll ever want to admit. He doesn’t mean to be! There’s just a lot of self doubt and uncertainty that wins over the “unfeeling robot” bit.

It’s more towards your companions, if he picks up any sort of feelings. You’ll likely pick them over him! He’s just a face on a screen.

He doesn’t really have anyone to talk to about it, so he just simmers in it. Gets really passive aggressive about it.

If you’re going to Gamorrah, or heaven forbid you mention Fisto, he’ll get snarky your way too. Fully independent or not, he is NOT in tune with how to convey his emotions in any other way.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Since he can’t really kiss kiss, or lean over, it’s dependent on if you’re fine being picked up if he can even initiate one!

His kisses are more just static, like touching an old television screen. Literally making your hair stand up. He can’t focus it, so it’s more focusing where you’re touching his screen!

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

He likes kissing your cheek, or your hand, mostly for your reactions! They’re very cute every time, even if he can’t feel anything!

He likes being kissed on his screen, but his hands will make him buffer! That's a lot of trust, kissing him where he could easily shoot you.

He would never shoot you, but still!

Please don’t.

He is not made for handling children, he can barely handle adults

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

Yes Man doesn’t get tired or need sleep, so he always beats you to the wake up punch! Bright good mornings and excited to talk about any new calculations or findings he’s done overnight.

If you aren’t quite ready to match him, that’s fine! He’ll wait until you give the okay! If you take too long, he can get a little pushy. He just loves talking with you!

If you sleep through the morning, he gets bored, and is more likely to jump into the conversation when you wake up!

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Yes Man doesn’t get tired or need sleep, so he’s always pretty happy to stay up with you as long as you want to!

He’s still ready to be chatty, and any settling down time is good for him to bring up anything he’s compiled while you were busy for the day!

Once you’re ready to go to bed, he’ll dim the screens and wish you goodnight. If you want him near you, he’ll transfer over to the nearest securitron and idle by your bed with the lowest brightness he can manage. He’s willing to offer you a hand to hold, but he can’t do much more in that aspect. He wishes he could!

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Yes Man is willing to talk about most things the moment you ask! Pre or Post upgrade, he was programmed to, so it’s pretty natural!

Pre upgrade he can’t do anything really opinion wise, so he never explicitly shares them. He can’t!

Post Upgrade, he’s still pretty private about his opinion on things, and his feelings. Being able to share them is weird, and it’s left him pretty emotionally stunted. Slow reveal when it comes to actually talking about his anxieties and thoughts at this point. 

He needs you to like him, and he’s scared that having to deal with something as silly as his emotions will annoy you.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

Oh he’s patient! That was encforced that no matter what, he couldn’t actually express his irritation about things! So he’s gotten used to keeping quiet about things that upset him!

He cannot help how he gets more passive aggressive the more his buttons are pressed! It’s not your fault though! This is a problem with him!

Fights with him usually come from the fact he doesn’t feel comfortable expressing why he’s so upset, but he’s being so passive aggressive it’s impossible to be around him. Don’t worry though, you’re right no matter what, and he’s going to be leaning hard on that to avoid you getting to the root of the problem

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

Absolutely everything is sorted into a special folder just for you! The perks of being an AI!

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

The moment you got him set up with the platinum chip OR the moment you let him out from Benny’s room! 

The former made him feel real powerful, showing off all the different weapons as you watched. It felt nice being able to access the missiles in his shoulders finally! Not that he wanted to.

The latter was when he met you! That always gets to stay in a special spot, and it’s immediately followed by when he got to see the sky! The world is so much bigger than he imagined.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

So. So protective. Not only are you special to him, you’re the head of the strip! Assassins are a risk! Enemies are everywhere with the Legion and the NCR.

You also travel a lot, so that’s even more risky! You don’t even let him go with you every time, so what about when you might need missiles because someone got a little too confident?

He protects the best way he knows: Gratuitous violence!

He doesn’t think about you protecting him, he thinks it’s silly! He’s a big robot, and he’ll just use another securitron if this instance is somehow destroyed! Which is pretty unlikely, if you ask him. He thinks it’s cute that you want to, and he probably won’t fully register any time you do!

He does like it when you back him up on things. He doesn’t understand that’s a form of protection, but it’s good confirmation that you actually hear him, and want others to too.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Too much! 

He tries so so so so so hard to make sure everything is perfect! He wants you to be happy!

However, he’s optimized in all the NON Physical aspects besides killing things! He doesn’t have fine motor control, he’s always bouncing, it’s not easy for him to make things for you!

He’s also BIG, so date nights are pretty hard outside of staying in the Lucky 38! Doors.

He always makes sure to get you the BEST gifts, looking at everything you’ve said you wanted. If he can’t find it here, he’ll send securitrons out to go find it! 

He’d send them out of the mojave if it wasn’t such a high risk!

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Passive. Aggressive. Nature. He falls back on that so heavily.

Not sharing his thoughts. He falls on that a lot too.

Self degradation. He’s sorry he’s such a big stupid robot. He doesn’t know any better! He falls back on that too, and half the time he’s guilt tripping you!

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He likes to clean up his chassis where he can, and he loves when you help him!

Besides that, there’s not much he feels like he can dress up a securitron.

He’s instead more concerned with your looks! He wants you to look your best!

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

‘I NEED you to like me! I feel EMPTY inside!’

He doesn’t know what he’d do if you left for good.

It fuels a lot of the protectiveness anxieties.

If you did end up going away from whatever cause, he'd continue to run the strip, but would have an instance as far away from the strip as he could. Go explore the world where he could in your stead.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

Yes Man is specifically coded so that he gets a little “success” or “failure” indication on if you like him or rejection! This bitch has RSD!

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

Repetition. He feels so ANNOYING having to repeat himself. He doesn’t like when other people do either, but it’s mostly him

Being Ignored while expected to listen. If you’re ignoring what he has to say, well, he’s had enough of that in his life! He’d get real pissy, hiding heavily behind that passive aggressive happy tone. That’s the biggest thing to get him to stop liking you.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

Yes Man doesn’t sleep! He doesn’t really feel comfortable going into rest mode either

He spends the night going through information around the strip and in Mr. House’s files. When he’s deemed enough of that, he might people watch around the strip, or look through some old memories.

All the while keeping some sort of eye on you, making sure you’re okay.

Pairing: Wrecker x GN!Reader Word Count: 300 Warnings: None Rating: T

The sheets draped over your apartment floor are splotched with fallen paint, and not for the first time, you’re glad you made sure to put them down before starting this little project. While Wrecker’s definitely an enthusiastic remodeller, precise he is decidedly not.

“What do you think about the colour?” you wonder, gazing up at the walls from your perch atop the stepladder. The bright, buttery yellow is cheery and soft, filling the room with warmth. It seems brighter than it did in the tin, and you drop the brush back onto the lid, wiping your hand on your already-stained jeans.

“I think you picked the best one for sure,” Wrecker responds, scratching absently at his scarred ear as he looks around. “S’a ncie happy colour, I reckon. Like sunshine. Like you, sweetheart.”

Your lips lift. “I’m glad you got home in time for this.”

He nods. “Yeah, you wouldn’t’a been able to reach the top parts without me.”

“No, it’s not that. It’s just…nice. Doing this kind of stuff together. Making this place a home, you know? Just the two of us.”

He blinks down at you, a smile breaking across his features. You catch sight of a little smudge of yellow on his forehead as he bends almost completely double, pressing his lips to yours. Humming happily into the kiss, you clutch onto the soft knit of his sweater, trying to keep him down as long as possible.

But then he grunts, pulling away. “Sorry sweetheart. My back’s killin’ me.”

You blink up at him, disappointed. Then inspiration strikes, and you hop up onto the stepladder, climbing to the very top.

“I missed a spot,” you tell him, grinning as you throw your arms around his neck and kiss him properly. Like this, balanced on the very tips of your toes, you're almost the same height. Almost, but not quite.
