being told by lauded poet richard siken that your high school questions are so annoying he wished his stroke had killed him is SOOOOO cool are you JOKING!!!!!!! that’s so much better than if he had lied and come up with a bunch of personal anecdotes and also 100% tells you more about his poetry than any autobiographical fact so. the fanfiction thing is just unrelated and slay of him.

went on twt, saw bad silco takes, immediately left, honestly king that a year after the show came out he still incites bad takes on both sides of the spectrum. silco never manipulated jinx vs he only ever manipulated her, like do y'all have the ability not to think in black and white all the time. there's no way that upon seeing powder he was immediately overcome with maternal instincts so strong that it changed his entire mindset, like he absolutely has manipulated her at many points probably, has absolutely projected his own problems and issues on her and jinx was a preeten with a fear of abandonment who soaked it up easily. he STILL manipulates her, when she confronts him about vi and he says shit like "who gave you a home" that is blatant manipulation. thing is, if you asked him he probably would have said he's manipulating her (i mean he wouldn't but yk in a truth serum scenario) because the whole point is that up until the last moment nobody knows how genuine and real his care for jinx is, not him or jinx and definitely not the audience

but like, the entire time you're being told from other sources that it is a real possibility, that this toxic unhealthy bond also includes something real and genuine and strong. literally the fact that silco would fumble the bag on zaun for jinx is an actual concern that everyone has, including sevika, the person closest to them hdhdhsjns

like are y'all not bored. are you not bored when you don't enjoy how messy snd complex snd unstable those dynakkcs are, how cobtasting concept and emotions can overlap

#random personal stuff #sometimes I think there can be an advantage to not having seen something for the first time as a kid but rather as an adult #less of the nostalgia goggles #but there are plenty of things that I'm glad I saw as a kid because rewatching them is like experiencing the joy you had in it at that age #critical/analytical skills in approaching media are very important and we should cultivate them of course #but retaining the way you engaged with stories as a kid - the excitement the wonder the investment the delight -#is maybe something worth doing #instead of going in looking for flaws and failures to meet sky-high standards...approach it as your younger self would have?#and you might enjoy it more?#anyway sorry this is incoherent #(this is about the weekly watch party and having to hear people criticize this show for doing things that were literally in the original?#and I am determined to look for the best partially out of sheer orneriness)#(I love the original show! but the pedestal is so very tall. too tall.)

I think yjh knew something was wrong with 49% kdj long before his collapse. Possibly almost immediately. Of course, there's that moment when he turned and looked back at the train alongside hsy - but hsy didn't put the dots together until later. I think yjh got it almost immediately. Namely:

The dinner where kdj collapses is 3 months after the train scene and the end of the scenarios. And:

Yjh has been going on regular runs this entire time.

"But he is the type of guy who would run just for physical fitness reasons, and to maintain strength that doesn't rely on the system." TRUE, I don't deny this. He probably also ran for that reason.

BUT

I think he also started running because of 49!kdj's actions. Something was wrong with kdj, and yjh couldn't ask him directly. He probably wanted space to figure out what.

So he went running, and then kept running every time his frustration would peak after that.
