Me and my dad are watching Hell's Kitchen. Just one complaint: if I have to hear them say the American Dream one more time, I will snap! As someone who isn't american but who sees a lot of their news (I'm Canadian), it feels very preachy. I just watched a few episodes of Oshi No Ko, and with a natural fixation on fantasy/supernatural elements, I ended up with the the idea for a funny comic/anime idea. Note: I come up with very dumb ideas.

A siren who is unable to use her powers to hypnotize anyone, ends up joining an american idol/singing competition disguised as a human to learn more about singing.

really annoys me when someone who already has a career goes on a talent show.

like. this woman who sung on the Greatest Showman soundtrack is on Britain’s Got Talent… yeah, she’s a decent singer, but she shouldn’t be taking the place who hasn’t had a shot at showbiz yet.

and this is not the only time. comedians who have already won awards. dancers who have already won awards. whatever.

the point of talent shows shouldn’t be the fucking performing arts Olympics. it should be to give people a chance to shine who haven’t had the opportunity yet. for uplifting hidden talents. it just doesn’t feel fair to pit a self-taught artist against someone who is already famous.
