hi hello, so, i actually started putting together this masterlist at the end of april (since then, ‘ain’t that a kick in the head!’ has been deleted, which was on the original list. big rip) but then life just kept getting in the way. & i have like 57485 fic rec masterlists that i want to get out but i wanted to post this one first, so. here i am. i usually do 50 fics per rec list, but this is 25. so it seems i can do a (semi) shorter fic rec list. who would’ve thought? anyway, enjoy!!

i’d come across this fic a number of times before i actually read it because i don’t listen to lana del rey (thank you jennifer & @hlkings for showing me the wonders of her music) so i wasn’t sure if i’d be able to follow the storyline. but!!! worry not. that knowledge isn’t required. amazing strangers to lovers, good smut, 10/10 relationship development & individual character development

jaerie knows i love this fic. my friends know i love this fic. i’m pretty sure most of the world’s population knows too. the relationship development in general & portrayal of inexperienced!harry/experienced!louis is top tier. it’s interesting reading harry going through his journey, in a generally pretty accurate way (from the perspective of someone who grew up religious), so i love that it’s in harry’s pov. i love how louis goes from teasing to soft to guiding so naturally, as well.

this fic portrays protective louis so well while harry’s still independent & in charge of his own autonomy. there’s some mentions of violence in this, just a disclaimer, but it’s veryyyyy minor! really good (dark) plot twist at the end too!

listennnnnnnnnnnnn. this fic??? & it’s sequel???? amazing. top tier. i just love how all the different elements of religion, kink, romance, smut, etc connect

the flirting!!!!!! my heart!!!!!!!!!! i know larry hitting it off right away is a canon trope & all that but it’s not always easy to write in a way that doesn’t feel rushed & this fic depicts that perfectly. there’s so much wonderful humor, fluffy moments & lots of domesticness.

i am an absolute sucker for fics where either harry or louis is a single father & the other one just swoops into their life & fits. & that’s exactly how this fic is. i’m not an angst person at all, but i also love how there’s realistic angst/concerns that a single parent would have about bringing another person into their lives. other than that bit, there’s still a whole lotta fluff !!

wow another fic where they’re strangers, hit it off immediately & have the cutest dynamic!! i’m a walking cliché atp but listen, although this is mostly pwp imo, the way louis picks up on harry’s mannerisms, what he needs as a sub, how to tease, etc is beautiful???? that takes talented writing!! we love to see it?? thank you for this???

This was the closest they’d been in 31 Earth years, which had felt extraordinarily long for Harry, even in his star form. He could hardly withhold his happiness at seeing him again.

“Erm, yeah,” Louis said, interrupting Harry’s thoughts with his brows furrowing and looking clearly suspicious. “And you are?”

Harry and Louis are literal stars who have known they were soulmates from their creation eons ago, however when Louis came to Earth to start the next phase of their fated future, he forgot everything. Even Harry.

This leaves Harry to break the rules and instead of waiting for Louis to call him and join him on Earth, he crashes down on his own. Without Louis there to guide him and help him learn how to adjust to having a human body and everything associated with that, Harry has no other choice but to do the best he can.

As Harry tries to correct what has gone wrong, he finds that friendship can be a light even in the darkest night, and through those bonds even separated soulstars can find their fated path once more.

In a world where humans have taken over the population it is hard to really succumb to your instincts, in fact, werewolves have been forced to go into hiding and protect their own, only if you’re one would you be able to find them.

What happens when a seemingly ordinary and human Louis, living his ordinary and human life with his family starts feeling different?

An instinct takes over him when him and his family decide to move out of the city and to a more quiet, secluded town in the northern mountains of Montana.

Unknowingly Louis is on the path to not only discover things about himself he never believed possible or real, but he’ll have to come to terms with the events of his life that were totally out of his control but nonetheless have taken him where he is now.

A story of confusion, longing and becoming.

This Christmas, Louis is going to ask for new friends, because his are the worst. That's the only possible explanation for how he's been dragged into dressing up as Santa and taking photos with strange small children at the mall for hours on end. I mean, Christmas is a season of being cheerful and all, but this is ridiculous! ...although the handsome guy who his friend somehow managed to persuade to play the elf is at least a small perk of the job.

This fic. Is funny. So funny. It’s got that perfect “I’ll murder you in your sleep” level of sarcasm from Louis, PLUS immediately love at first sight AND babies. Truly, this fic has it all.

This second, this minute, this hour, this day... hell, this week the trend was for Harry to feel overwhelmed. He was having a hard time not drowning in all of the responsibilities he had heaped upon himself and it had exhausted him. Beyond that, really. He had gotten to the point where he didn't even remember why he used to be so focused on getting back on stage every night.

Fine. Maybe this trend had been going on for even longer than a week. It might have even been months.

Harry is getting dangerously close to his breaking point, and that is when things start to change, starting with a favorite childhood sweet a member of the touring crew leaves for him in his dressing room.

“This one,” Louis said decidedly, as he looked around it. “It’s perfect, yeah?”

It was a little small, maybe five and a half feet. But the way Louis’ eyes lit up, the way he looked just as excited as Harry was, had him smitten over the tree too. Harry gave an excited nod, smiling. “Perfect.”

Louis nodded, squatting down and setting his rucksack on the ground. He fished around before he found the hacksaw, pulling it out and leaving it closed. He grabbed the trunk of the tree in his hand, and Harry found his eyes magnetized to the way his fingers wrapped around it.

as part of their test-run of living together, Harry and Louis decide to host their friends for a Christmas party. And, you can't have a Christmas party without proper decorations, most importantly a tree.

Giving his Omega little gifts and tokens of affection, finally getting to scent them properly and maybe even offering clothes to be added to the Omega’s nest.

Harry accepting was worth the world to Louis and he couldn’t wait to get to show his best friend, his Omega, how much exactly he meant to him.

after a misunderstanding during a scrabble game, Alpha Louis starts courting Omega Harry without the latter being aware of it.

Harry doesn’t mean to fall in love with Louis’ scent when they first meet after the Alpha joins Harry's study group, but after Harry leaves a sweater behind by accident and it comes back smelling like Louis, he can’t really help it. Nor can he really help continuing to leave his things behind in hopes that Louis will take them home and drench them in his wonderful, mouth-watering scent. He just has to hope Louis will play along.

Or, 5 times Louis scents Harry's things and the 1 time Harry returns the gesture.
