Is it known where Adrienne lived while she stayed in Hamburg before she went to Olmütz?

Dear @sophia-daria,

The short answer is: Adrienne stayed in Altona.

The long answer includes that I admit that I have been wrong and that Adrienne did not stay in Hamburg at all prior to going to Olmütz. Why? Although Altona is today a borough of Hamburg (maybe even one of the most famous ones), it was an independent city up until 1937. In the late 18th century is was still part of the Danish kingdom.

Adrienne’s daughter Virginie wrote in her book the following:

We started immediately for Dunkirk and embarked, September 5th, on a small American vessel bound for Hamburg. At the end of eight days we landed at Altona near Hamburg. Mme de Montagu was living there with her aunt, Mme de Tessé, who, having been suddenly apprized of my mother's arrival, hastened to the inn where we had just arrived. Mme de Montagu's friends attempted in vain to prepare her for the meeting; the violence of her emotion was fearful to witness; this scene is still present to my mind. After such great misfortunes, it was truly a consolation for the two sisters to find themselves once more together, to weep, to pray together, and to seek to give each other strength and courage.

I went back to the Memoirs of Adrienne’s sister (Madame de Montagu) but although she speaks in length about her stay in Altona, she does not give any more details, prompting us towards a more exact address.

So Altona it is. But keep in mind that some of the borders were different back in the 1790’s. Eidelstedt and Stellingen-Langenfelde belonged to Altona as well (unlike today) and the borders around St. Pauli have also slightly changed.
