hi i wanna talk about my favorite fairytale
it has many names and many different versions with different endings like most fairytales so imma be talking about the most popular versions
but one thing these all have in common is the main character is a winter form deerling
ill be using bullet points/cliff notes for this to just make it easier on me kshdfksjdhfk
The Original Fairytale
A Winter Form Deerling is frolicking through her winter wonderland before coming across three Lycanroc and decides to eavesdrops on the three.
The Midday Lycanroc says it most enjoys eating Summer Form Deerling and Sawsbuck, the Midnight Lycanroc says it most enjoys Spring Forms, and the Dusk Lycanroc most enjoys Autumn Forms.
The three canines then plan to go through each of the Seasonal Forests so each of them can hunt for their favorite meal.
Winter panics and decides that she must go warn these herds of Deerling and Sawsbuck of the upcoming danger.
She runs off into the Spring Forest and warns the herd there, getting them to leave right before the Lycanroc arrive and then the Summer Forest with a bit more difficulty.
The Autumn Forest herd was more difficult, not wanting to flee their home. So, instead the herd decided that with this warning they will instead fight the Lycanrocs in which Winter joined them.
Due to the warning the herd had received they managed to not have any casualties and chased of the canines and Winter ended up evolving into a Sawsbuck while standing over the Lycanroc in a rather cool as fuck scene in my opinion before the canines run off.
Winter then leaves the herd and arrives on a hill that acts as the connecting middle point of each of the Seasonal Forests with an incredibly tall tree that reaches so far into the sky that it could touch the sun and on each side is one of the seasons.
While there the Lycanroc show up, skinny and exhausted with hunger. Winter, upon seeing the suffering canines, comes to realize that while she saved others she made others suffer. A Trolley Problem. Save the many or save the few.
She had already saved the many. But maybe she could save the few. She was no longer a tiny deerling. She was now something that could fill the bellies of three hungry predators.
She lets them eat her.
And that's how the story ends.
Other Versions
Kalosian Version(s) -
Winter, when she dies, becomes Xerneas.
Theres also a few versions where she has a Vullaby/Mandibuzz companion that becomes Yveltal and in some versions the Lycanrocs join together and become Zygarde
"Child-friendly Version(s)" -
Instead of three Lycanroc its a Houndoom, Mightyena, and a Midnight Lycanroc who, instead of just being hungry Pokemon, are malicious creatures that want to take over the Seasonal Forest. Winter does not die in the end and instead "fixes" the hungry canines with the power of friendship and now the canines only eat berries.
Theres also a version in which Winter still dies but instead of staying dead or becoming Xerneas, Xerneas instead appears and brings her back to life.
hehehe sorry i really like this fairytale <3333 theres also a lot of other really cool versions but my brain is blanking right now but ough ough ough its so cool guys i love fairytales guys

2.21.23 (but actually drawn at least a month ago - and now posted 6.2.23) - some xy fic sketches. rambles beneath the cut
.
in my Great Fanfiction Rewrite of the (X)Y plot because it was sadly lacking in some places, Calem/Xavier kinda sorta joins Team Flare! To be honest this isn't my 100% original idea, I saw someone post once on here somewhere how cool it would've been if your rival, frustrated with constantly losing to you, joined Team Flare in desperation to beat you. I have taken this concept and am running with it. Xavier in my story Did Not take kindly to losing the Mega Ring to Yvonne: a rookie trainer, a girl, a girl who doesn't fall into his preconceived notions of what a young female trainer should be like, a girl he initially assumed he would be in a relationship with and he'd be the tough trainer in contrast to her contest abilities, someone from a poorer family from his. He gets uhh a little wild trying to prove his might makes right (deeply sheltered child who was never exposed to anything that would upset him syndrome)
In my head Y is the canon, but I'm doing a ramshackle combo into a tentative Z in which Yvonne and Yveltal fight Lysandre together, but also Xavier and Xerneas at some point and Zygarde is there too as a result of Team Flare managing to find BOTH legendaries (who in the anime were depicted as being right on top of each other) but only figuring out how to use Yveltal in the Ultimate Weapon. Xavier steals the Poke Flute and uses it to wake Xerneas (willingly or not - he's irrational, but IDK how down he'd be for the "destroy the world" plot, but Xerneas DEFINITELY uses ~fairy powers~ to fuck with his mind)
Yvonne has vitiligo! Dyes her hair blonde for the first halfish of the game, lets it grow out to its natural brown as a symbolic representation of not wanting to conform to certain beauty standards. She starts wearing very snazzy suits post-game, avoiding short sleeves and skirts
My HC is that Sycamore is her da! He and Grace were an item back in the day when Grace was in Kalos Rhyhorn racing, and she only realized she was pregnant when she'd already left. Sycamore didn't feel ready at all to be an active father, and Grace didn't feel any strong need to be in a relationship with him/have him be a part of Yvonne's life with a strong circle of friends and family who'd help with childrearing, so he stayed in Kalos and continued his work on evolution and Fairy Types in Kalos, every other month or so receiving an email of an update of Yvonne's life in progress. Eventually Grace's racing injuries/chronic pain is too debilitating to continue racing, and Sycamore offers his grandparents' cottage in the starting town. Yvonne knows her father is an academic/scientist in Kalos but doesn't know it's him, and doesn't want to know until she's more comfortable in the region. She DOES start to suspect though, but only confirms it mid/post-Geosenge crisis (haven't decided how long that's drawn out) in a hospital bed. Sycamore (after years of watching his daughter grow up from afar, and has become more invested in her life in the past few years) is delighted that she's willing have a familial connection
a lot of people draw Yveltal as a bird (super cool, no judgement) but it's very dragon-y to me with the hands/wings, kinda like how bat wings are just elongated fingers with skin between them. The logic of the tail eludes me though. It's Yvonne's buddy post game! As much as she does not want it to be her buddy! But when a super powerful ancient deity of death decides it wants to be your friend there's not a lot you can do to stop it. She warms up to it eventually. They have a fun time threatening Malva together
Korrina is a sports lesbian
Shauna slight redesign. She and Yvonne become an item around Laverre. In my story there's a cool Ren Faire-ish thing happening when they arrive and they both get a little tipsy and kiss and spend the evening running around in semi-accurate reenactment dresses giggling and dancing and giving each other wildflowers
Gogoat =)

[BZZT! TRANSLATING FOR GUEST:Bibi]
You want me to speak? You got it!
I mean what should I talk about? You've kinda given me free reign here?
How about that fucking BITCH Lead Pipe? Has the fucking guts to come at us? Try and kill The Reaper? Motherfucker. We shoulda let hir hit the pavement when Dash knocked hir off the building. I guess they helped with Zygarde, yea. But Zyguy was only an issue cause Lead Pipe couldn't let grannie go! It wasn't even our fault! The Reaper was way too nice to them!
Y'know, if I was Jellyfish, I would have-
[TRANSLATOR'S NOTE: THE NEXT PORTION HAS BEEN REMOVED OUT OF RESPECT FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN THE EVENTS DESCRIBED BY BIBI, AND FOR EXCESSIVE VULGAR LANGUAGE.]
Fine! I'll finish it up! I guess Lead Pipe is cool now. The Reaper likes hir, I guess. I still wanna punch them into oblivion.
Jellyfish if you're reading this I also want to punch you but for fun.

Zygarde protect me!
Fucking ALDER just came by. Like, that's cool, in general, but he knew of my Yveltal egg? And well... I took quite the scolding, to make it short. But he thinks I'll be able to handle it?
On the other hand, he also found the Xerneas egg? I had kinda thought it was a dream that i got this one as well because yesterday it was just gone? On that front i got another scolding. Ouch. He knows his way around words. He took the egg with him and wants to bring it to the ranger union, so they can give it proper care or bring it to a correct habitat. I guess they'll know what they're doing.
Also he wants to check in with me regularly to see if i take care of Yveltal properly. Imma be honest here, I'm a little bit scared of this man.
On the bright side, if you guys want to meet the ex-champ of Unova, you have a good chance at Koffing-Time about every other week.
I need a break for a moment. Olivia will still be available though.
I agree, our former champ can be very scary. It's always very... exciting when he's controlling the gyms. - Olivia

@mapalsyrup
You haven't finished Scarlet yet but fuck it imma tell you shit and just try to leave out as many spoilers as I can because DLC bois
-Basically: Riddler Khu (well known pokemon game data-miner and teaser) posted stuff about the DLC having some pretty cool mechanics
-RK says something about the hexagon w/ eyes on tera jewels having to do w/ the third legendary
-RK talks about mega evolution being different from z-moves, dynamaxing & terastallizing in a way that seems to suggest that the difference it that all are caused by pokemon except mega evolutions
-You know how Paldea is Spain? The connecting area between Spain + France appears in maps in-game but cant be accessed in game.
People assume that this is where the dlc will take place.
Kalos is based on France, and also doesn't contain that area, so its not off-limits to use/make
-The thing many people assume to be linked the third legendary, mentioned in the scarlet/violet book and some lab entries, has a hexagonal pattern and/or shape
People have theorized that this could point to Zygarde (Kalos legendary)
No one else has mentioned this (as far as I know) somehow but the image in the scarlet/violet book does kinda have a Zygarde-ish shape
the letter amount it has in the name in the lab is 1 off, but it may have some different nick-name or the letter amount might not just fully correspond, since the scarlet/violet book has that issues. People are thinking it might get a mega-evo w/ a 6 letter name but idk
-someone talked about how Area Zero has the same initials as the guy behind the story of X&Y, and RK responded with a reference to the guy's floette that was in the code but never the game., which may or may not have to do with floette and/or AZ being in the dlc
That guy's evil scheme was apparently a giant crystal cannon
Floettes can be spotted in Area Zero
-Delphox (a Kalos starter's final evo) is once of the pokemon I saw was going to be transferable to S/V from Home in 2023
-Diance & Carbink (crystal pokemon w/ links to Kalos) will also be transferable
-2023 will be the 10th anniversary of X & Y coming out in 2013
-Dex entry of Roaring Moon (Scarlet Paradox Salamence) references mega salamence
-While the first impression I got was that the hexagon legendary was behind the paradoxes, if Zygarde is in the game, it may be under control or trying to stop the paradoxes(bcuz order pokemon) and would be helped during the game
Perhaps Zygarde cells could be found around the world like roaming gimmighoul
-I really wanna see Yveltal, the LIFE DRAINING pokemon that can WIPE OUT AN ENTIRE FOREST, in an open world game. Imagine the dystopia.
-Volcanion's (Kalos legendary that people have been complaining didn't get to do anything) move was removed/replaced for S/V pokemon.
It does look very mechanical.
-Paldea is mentioned "defending against neighboring countries" or smthn similar in the history, and a war was mentioned in Kalos lore
-This could just be for profit & loving Charizard's sake but the OP Tera Raid Charizard might be a secret teaser (since its one of the few pokemon with 2 mega evos)
-idk exactly what this means, but Geeta's final pokemon has been laughed at bcuz its meant to be a set-up pokemon for the beginning of battles, but its the species you need to farm in order to get the Tera Blast TM & is found deep in Area Zero, which is specifically called out by the game (idr who, but Penny and/or Arven ask about wtf it is) + RK also mentioned her as an option when he made a poll about who people thought would be the dlc villian
-Another option was Heath; he has a cyclizar(like how Miraidon + Koraidon are paradox cyclizar) and with the lore+theories so far, it kinda makes sense but not really so idk this either
-also may or may not do anything- but the scarlet book has a drawing of a paradox pokemon that looks like a mix between Suicune, Raiku, & Entei, and the violet one is a mix between Virizon, Coballion & Terakion. The book claims it was drawn by one of the explorers based on paradox pokemon because the ones they saw inspired him, but idk, some of the current knowledge and theories (that I can't say bcuz spoilers) may suggest not
edit: the war mentioned in Kalos was stopped w/ the ultimate weapon crystal cannon that AZ brings back, and Area Zero is also called Ground Zero(area below/above an exploding nuke), so the post about "THEY NUKED MADRID" might've been right

Fellow pokemon fan? Hai hello nice to meetcha
Whats your favourite legendary pokemon? Or perhaps your fave ultrabeast? For me, favourite legendary has to either be Eternatus, Hoopa or Zygarde, dont have a favourite ultrabeast however 😅
Greetings.
For legendary Pokémon, I'd gotta say it's a tie between Miraidon, Eternatus, or Xerneas. Zygarde is cool, too.
Ultrabeast is probably UB-03 Lightning just because of how stupid it looks. Honestly, all the Ultrabeats look really wonky to me, but UB-03 Lightning is just so fucking funny to look at. Also electric type so, y'know.

Since @goldenrodchef mentioned you...
Gush about two other people on Rotomblr! Make sure to @ them, though! They must then do the same to two other people each, and so on! Send a new message to them so they remember to do so!
Oh shoot I'm like, a turbo genius and missed that; just saw my friend complimenting me and was like Fuck Yeah! Uh, I'd love to gush about friend Gen and the progress he's been making since I first met him, but I don't know if this sort of chain-letter game would work if I did a backloop like that so I'mma just choose two other friends, uhhhhh,
@zygarde-the-guardian is so cool, she's trans like me! And she's working really hard to help better her own life and those around her, even when it's hard, and I always feel a little bad that I can't just teleport over there and give her hugs whenever I see her not feeling good.
Uh, oh! @alamos-garden-lover is also doing such a wonderful job tending the garden, and the lily bulb he sent with me is growing... SO big actually it's a little ridiculous, and it was so nice of him to let me stay in Alamos and I hope I get to visit again sometime, with my friends.
I just hope my friends are. Okay, with that.

love how volo literally just joins all these evil teams and is like "hm. i hate these ppl im leaving" and steals crap. please tell me about serena and her zygarde thing going on though !!
DHDJSJS yeah he's always thinking "everyone here is weird thank god im normal" everytime he gets involved with some evil teams bullshit. he can't become god of the new world when he's surrounded by the worst people on the planet it kills his vibe
back to serena though, she shows in kalos and is presented as your normal protagonist™️ and has something gay going on with shauna until she walks into a cave by herself where team flare is looking for a zygarde core they detected there. lysandre (who she was briefly introduced to by sycamore before) goes "oh fuck" and shoots her causing her to literally die.
then the zygarde core they were looking for shows up and goes "wtf you're the protagonist you can't die yet" and reanimated serena's corpse. so yeah she's a zygarde zombie now good for her.
luckily for lysandre serena does not remember like the last hour of her life before she fucking died so he picks her up and drags her to hospital where he tells a sob story about how he found her dying while walking through and saved her just in time. sycamore is too busy being gay for lysandre and being fascinated by serena being a zygarde zombie now to notice that what he's saying is bullshit.
so yeah now lysandre basically spends the rest of the story manipulating serena into becoming essentially a human battery for the ultimate weapon by luring zygarde cells to her.
serena stops having a heartbeat, she can't express her emotions through facial expressions or tone of voice since they're not permanently flat, her hair darkens over time, and her right eye is discolored to be red and it glows in the dark now. she's not emotionless though even though everyone assumes she is and she's manipulated into thinking she is herself. also she cuts her hair after becoming a zombie just because she felt like it
so yeah serena is cool 👍 this is probably the edgiest milesverse gets i think but idk i think it's cool and it fits the life and death theme of xy

Addressing a few common things I've seen about the Alan and Leon match-up (and Alan's participation in the Masters 8 at all):
1.) "Why is he even in the Masters 8 if not for Ash to avenge his Kalos League loss? It makes no sense!"
Au contraire, it makes perfect sense for a wide variety of reasons:
— Alan is an incredibly powerful trainer, being the only trainer in the entire series besides Ash himself to accomplish Champion-level feats, including but not limited to defeating an Elite Four member (Malva), defeating 10 mega evolution users in a row that included an Elite Four member, and defeating a legendary pokémon (50% Zygarde). The fact that he defeated more Gym Leaders and Elite Four members to secure his place in the Masters 8 makes far more sense for him than it does for say, Paul, whose accomplishments aren't on the same level, right down to the fact that as far as we know, Paul has never won a League, whereas Alan has. (And for that matter, we don't know why Diantha is still Champion. Did she beat Alan when he challenged her? Or did he just never challenge her because he didn't want to be Champion in the first place? We simply don't know.) He's not a Champion in title, but in ability? Yes. Definitely. Absolutely.
— Alan is the only character in the anime who has ever been the primary protagonist of a major segment of the anime's story, i.e. The Strongest Mega Evolution, which set up the entire Flare arc (and is imo crucial to actually understanding the Flare arc) and was created explicitly to tell Alan's story, since they couldn't fit it in the primary anime since Ash had nothing to do with it. (And tbh was only shoehorned into the Flare arc, but nonetheless.) So again, if we're considering plot relevance of past characters, Alan has a pretty huge argument for inclusion since the only other character who has been a protagonist of this anime is Ash himself. You could argue Dawn since she had deuteragonist status in DPPt, but she's a coordinator and not a battler and doesn't have the Champion-level battling accomplishments listed above, so that kind of knocks her out of the running there, much as I love her.
— If we must look at this from an Ash-centric point of view, then having the rival that he never managed to defeat be defeated by the Champion that we know he's going to have to face in the finals raises the stakes for him. Yes we know that Leon is strong, Ash knows that Leon is strong, but this will demonstrate to Ash just how strong Leon is in a way that is personal to him. Yeah, Ash battled Diantha in XYZ, but he also very nearly defeated her and iirc only failed because he passed out or collapsed from Bond Phenomenon. Whereas, he's battled Alan multiple times and lost every time. So seeing Leon defeat Alan, and Lizardon especially, will raise the stakes for him and therefore put more weight to the story being told right now versus focusing on a League defeat that happened six fucking years ago, which Ash himself has never even wanted revenge for in the first place because unlike a chunk of grown-ass adults in this fandom, he actually understands that it was a justified loss and nothing to hold a grudge over despite only being ten years old.
But I digress. Alan being in the Masters 8 makes perfect sense from both a character and a story standpoint. dealwithit.gif
2.) "But Alan battling Leon makes no sense, why did they go THAT route?"
Because they're both Charizard specialists and that will (presumably) make their battle very cool. I know we saw the Battle of the Megas in the Kalos League with Alan vs. Trevor, but Trevor's not a Charizard specialist and he was certainly never even remotely close to Alan's level (or Leon's). Whereas, both Alan and Leon specialize in battling with their Charizard, and this shows in their techniques, right down to how they both change up their dragon's moveset in accordance with who they're battling. (e.g. Lizardon knew Steel Wing all through TSME, but after meeting Ash and seeing Greninja, Alan swapped Steel Wing for Thunder Punch. Leon has been shown doing much the same thing in Journeys.) While it would have been nice to see Alan and Steven get to finish their battle from TSME, the first half of it would have been rehashed from what we already saw, and in order to get an Alan vs. Leon match Steven would have had to lose, which I'm sure would have upset his fans. To that end, that could be why they also avoided putting Alan against any of the other Champions: because those are characters from the games who have fans of theirs from the games, and they wouldn't want to upset those fans. Of course it still would have been preferable to save the Alan vs. Leon for the semifinals, but this is OK too.
But really, I hope we get to see them interact before/after the match so they can fanboy over each other's Charizard. And I'd be over the moon if Leon taught Alan the Charizard Pose. Please grant me this during pride month, PokéAni.
3.) "Yeah but Alan is going to get bodied out in the first round lmao what a loser etc etc"
I mean, not necessarily? First of all, calling anyone who reaches the top eight trainers in the world a loser makes no sense lmao. Alan beat Gym Leaders and Elite Four members to get here, he's standing among Champions and has a higher standing than two of them, that's no small feat! I knew he had no chance of winning this thing because of story reasons, but I'm immensely proud of him and Lizardon regardless. They are so strong and so brave and so smart and I love them so much.
That said, while it's of course a guarantee that Alan will lose because Leon has to win, I don't see why people are taking it as predetermined that he'll lose quickly. The summary explicitly says that the battle between Alan and Leon is ABOUT TO BEGIN with Ash watching. Considering that the first half of the episode is going to be Ash battling Hop, and considering they say that the battle between Alan and Leon is about to begin, there's reason enough to believe it'll carry over into the next episode. It's not a certainty, that could just be bad wording, but I remember seeing an interview where originally all the battles were going to just be still images and then the writers or someone fought to have them actually animated out. So I imagine that should mean that all of the battles are going to be done justice, even the ones that don't include Ash, so hopefully that means they'll respect Alan enough to let him make Leon work damn hard for that win. I mean, with Alan's past record, that would only make sense.
But regardless, I'm just glad that the people who have spent the last six or seven years bitching about the Kalos League and hating Alan and screaming for "revenge" aren't getting what they want. That alone is enough for me.
4.) "But why does he have Lysandre's collar on Lizardon and the Mega Ring?"
Most likely because they couldn't be arsed to design new jewelry for him. I'm not happy about that either (though I am happy that he has Charizardite X again because you can't just switch to Charizard Y, you have to train different EV sets for both of them on top of different movesets and TBQH should also have different natures for both of them so switching to Y just wouldn't make sense. Lizardon wouldn't be able to make it as a Zard Y. Fellow Charizard specialists would understand). My approach is to just pretend I do not see it and mentally impose the pendants I had Sycamore give him and Lizardon instead, hahaha.
5.) "Well I still don't like this or him, I hate Alan >:("
Join the six million other people who hate him in my block list, you're not special.

real talk. so happy the x&y remake or The Legends Edition is coming out since that was the first game i started with. and i hold yveltal so near and dear to my heart its crazy. zygarde too, and idgaf about xerneas and its Fuck You: +2 BARBIE SPARKLES, the move. but i still care about them too to an extent
but i got so fucking happy and excited and nearly jumped out of my seat in class when i saw the zoom out of the city. i went “wait theres only one region with a Giant Ass Tower in the central city.. WAIT. WAIT” and even more excited when i saw it was. indeed, kalos. and the mega symbol at the end of the trailer too.
one of my irl friends is utterly fucking pissed that it is not a pokemon black/white remake, nor a colosseum remake. but i believe both of those have their issues with story and company-set expectations respectively. both of those were made in a different era socially and work-place…-ily. (they also want a pokemon emerald remake specifically and im like… Erm. errrmm… but regardless.
where a black and white remake would likely risk bringing up the subject of the plot and its contents to a newer, unaware audience. and since people critically shit on the diamond/pearl remakes, its safe to say they’d put off remaking it for a while even still. and in the case of colosseum, the potential backlash for not including Most Of The Pokedex while still having to uniquely animate each and every mon WHILE still having the good ol’ modern AAA game effect of pushing out a halfassed product and then fixing the issues later down the line (or never at all) and not putting out as quality content as they Definitely could… it’ll… it’ll take a really long while for a official colosseum remake to come out considering the industry standard right now. and Nintendo being Nintendo.
but yeah. i’m really happy and REALLY excited to see pokemon z be a existent thing. and i hope they make some cool awesome forms for yveltal, xerneas and other mons like they did with the region of hisui. though we dont talk about Horse Palkia and Dialga. and pray the life/death duo doesnt suffer the same design Strangeness. though a snake xerneas/yveltal could be cool . ….but considering this is most likely future kalos more than past… errrhh dunno

So, one of my favorite tropes is the overlap between Sealed Evil and Delved Too Deep. That moment when buried evil is terribly awakened from the dark bowels of the Earth. Consequently, mine shafts are effectively my absolute favorite locations in fiction, due to this beautiful combination of claustrophobia, nyctophobia, and the creeping dread of some unspeakable horror lying just beyond your awareness, waiting to give you a very bad time.
It is unfortunate then that the greatest horror lurking in Xenoblade 3's Ether Mines is an army of Arachno (1 at least has the cool Metal Face fight, among other things).
Tears of the Kingdom's Depths then feel like the perfect place in which unknowable terror should hide lurking, but tragically, Zelda is lacking in Balrogs. The closest to a unique buried evil here is either the contro-snapping Floating Coliseum, or the Gleeok Den (Rist Mine gets the perk for feeling exactly like something terrible should be lurking at the center, but alas, it is not so). I don't think stumbling upon any of the bosses really counts, as they aren't exactly presented in the correct vein. Well, maybe Marbled Gohma. I'll think on that later. Ganondorf under Hyrule Castle is arguably the best example the game has of Awakening buried evil, but as that's literally the intro, I don't feel it counts.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder has its own mine level, but again, no unspeakable horror waiting to be unearthed to inflict evil upon the Poplins (who definitely deserve it, no I will not elaborate).
So, given Pikmin's reputation, with its Plasma Wraiths, and Water Wraiths, I'm hoping that when I finally get back to 4 (I took some off time for way too damn many other things), I will find some unspeakable dread laying in wait to fuck my shit up.
You might wonder why I'm only looking to non-horror Nintendo franchises in this post. The answer: mostly boredom. They are just games I've played recently that have the correct biome but distinctly lack the one inhabitant I wish to have my shit fucked up by.
Obviously Dead Cells and Hollow Knight, Tunic, lot of Metroid, really the options are there. I just get a little bummed out when I'm given the opportunity to explore the fathomless depths of the world without Awakening evil. Let me awaken buried evil, dammit!
Shout-out to Pokémon X/Y's Terminus Cave. I don't know what happened, or how Zygarde relates. I don't want to know. Excellent design work on that one. Also, Area Zero (which reminds me that I should at some finish Jeff VanderMeer's Southern Reach): that place hits hard.

please never let me fact check anything and dissect any sort of plot because i will go into a rant about how inconsistent it may be. for example, my friend and i hopped into a call to watch a few pokemon episodes, but within 10 minutes i directed the conversation to, and in this order:
- How im disappointed we didn't really get to see Alain form an actual full team of pokemon apart from one singular metang -> metagross
- Where alain got his pokemon from in kalos
- Where lysandre labs was located in the anime
- Trying to find out where it was located through the megalith bc it made a beeline for the sundial in the anime
-finding out not only where lysandre labs is located, but also the fact that if in fact the megalith DID make a beeline for the sundial IT WOULD GO TREKKING THROUGH ALL OF KALOS AND THROUGH LUMIOSE CITY AND THE POKEMON LEAGUE. (then again i have a vendetta against the megalith plots inconsistencies so...)
- Looking at lumiose city too close and finding out it has a river going through it/ a canal
-spending a  good half an hour trying to find pictures of said canal
-finding said pictures in the clemont, bonnie and cilan special and then watching it
- trying to figure out the metro system in kalos
- trying to figure out how clemont, bonnie and cilan went from a undergorund metro system tunnel AND ENDED UP IN THE UNDERWATER TUNNEL LEADING BACK OUT TO THE CANAL?
the moral of the story is i have a problem

My Hero Pokemon AU
Basic title because I cannot think but I’ve decided I’m just gonna go ahead and rewrite the entire plot of My Hero Academia (current anime) as if it was like... a spin off of the Pokemon Anime? Took place in Pokemon?
Pokemon AU but more than just what Pokemon everyone would have, it’s plot. I’m just not writing it.
This is going to get long and rambley and I have no cool art to pace it out I’m literally rewriting an entire anime plot, but if you’d be so kind as to stick with me that’d be super cool.
So basics are as basics do, Toshinori Yagi is the Pokemon Champion of this world. He’s like the Pokemon Master, he’s more than just a strong battler, he’s also helpful and spends his time growing the bonds between Pokemon and People, making Pokemon more common amongst a world where the idea of keeping a Pokemon for something other than battling was absurd.
There are three ways to get a Pokemon;
The most old fashioned being at 4-6 years old your parent or parental figure will give you an egg from one of their Pokemon, and it’s your job to care for it until it hatches.
Likewise, a parent or parental figure can also simply pass down a Pokemon from their own team onto a child at age 4 or older. Typically the older Pokemon is more of a guardian for the young trainer than an actual partner
Finally, you can take a Pokemon Personality Test and be gifted a Pokemon by a local professor or even the champion if you reach the right requirements, and pay a kinda hefty fee.
The last option is what Katsuki Bakugou did on his 4th birthday. He was gifted a Cyndaquil. Unlike the usual timid behavior for it’s species, Katsuki’s Cyndaquil was constantly picking fights. The flames on it’s back were always full strength. The two were perfect.
Izuku’s parents were a little more old fashioned. His father is a traveling Pokemon Trainer who’s partner is a Flareon, while his mother’s partner is an Espeon. The two opted to pass an egg from their partners down to Izuku.
He was the only kid in his class who had an egg, and was bullied for it, as he was the only one who couldn’t battle. And of course, the greatest battler of his grade was Katsuki Bakugou, who’s Cyndaquil took out even hand-me down Pokemon.
Still, he believed in the greatness that would hatch from the egg, and cared for it diligently. When his Eevee hatched, the two already shared a closer bond than any other trainer at Izuku’s school.
Eevee, however, was not very strong. He didn’t win any battles at school, and Izuku tended to hesitate as a trainer. Despite his many notes on battling, he could never get the hang of telling Eevee what to do in time. Katsuki loked down at him because of this.
Here’s where I stop being a storyteller for a hot second; The log accident between Katsuki and Izuku is replaced by Katsuki’s Cyndaquil loosing a battle to a wild Pokemon and fainting for the first time. Katsuki wasn’t prepared for this, he didn’t have anything to make Cyndaquil better, and it was actually Izuku and his Eevee who chased off the wild Pokemon and found Oran berries to heal Cyndaquil.
Obviously, neither of them liked that. Because you know. Angy boy has to angy. So Katsuki and his Cyndaquil both hate Izuku and his Eevee for... helping them. Because they don’t need help. They’re strong all on their own. Fuck you Deku.
By middle school Bakugou is still the best battler in his grade and grades above, his Cyndaquil is now a Quilava, soon to be a Typhlosion, and he’s setting his sights on the elite Pokemon Trainers school; UA Highschool.
On the other hand, Midoriya’s Eevee has blatantly refused to evolve any time Midoriya brought it up, and is now more like a house pet than a partner Pokemon. Midoriya has also failed to catch any new Pokemon. He does, however, have notebooks on type advantages, teams, strategy, and move combos. Eevee and Midoriya spend hours researching the perfect next partner to match Eevee. They too want to go to UA.
But that’d be impossible for an unevolved Pokemon as weak as Eevee. And with no other partners to help out it seems like a pipe dream.
Enter All Might, Champion and Pokemon Master. Who’s secret star Pokemon is an unevolved Scorbunny.
In this AU it’s not the act of saving Bakugou from getting his Quilava stolen by a Team LOV Grunt that sparks Toshinori’s drive to train him; But instead, the sync he has with his Pokemon. Both he and Eevee ran into the battle, a loosing battle, against a trainer they could not beat, without saying a word to one another. They both HAD to help. They both HAD to battle.
The connection between Trainer and Pokemon is what really matters, especially when using One for All, which is like a Z-Crystal or Mega Stone. It acts a lot like the Sync moves from Pokemon Masters. The trust between Trainer and Pokemon is gathered and released in an all out attack. It comes with the backlash of draining a Pokemon and Trainer’s life force if used too much. Like a Life Orb in the games, but less number values.
Toshinori and his Scorbunny train Izuku and his Eevee to inherit this power. Any Pokemon can be strong, evolution or not. It’s all about trust and care. A true trainer wins with the Pokemon they like, as Toshinori’s master once taught him.
Okay this post is getting... ridiculously long and we’re barely though episode like 3 when I said I was rewriting the whole plot I meant it. Thankyou to all who have stuck with me thus far, I’ll speed run Class 1-A’s Partner Pokemon real quick for you.
Yuga Ayoama - Carbink he hatched from an egg, he hopes one day to see it evolve into a Diancie
Mina Ashido - Her first Pokemon is her Salazzle she got from a Personality test, but her always out of it’s Pokeball her partner is a Grimer she caught in middle school. She thinks she’s the cutest Pokemon in the world, and likes to dress her up. She also has a Sliggoo who loves hugs.
Tsuyu Asui - Her main Pokemon is her father’s Politoed, though she’s always surrounded by water types. She can be seen cradling Tympol and Poliwag like babies. She also has a Drizzile.
Tenya Iida - Current owner of the family’s Aegishlash after Tensei had the his team stolen and corrupted by Team LOV. Before then his number one Partner was a Shelmet, traded with his brother to evolve into an Accelgor just before the entrance exam for UA.
Ochaco Uraraka - Hatched a Ralts from her parents, upon entering UA it was still a Kirlia. After interning under the Ace Trainer Gunhead it evolved into a Gallade.
Mashirao Ojiro - Specializes in fighting types, his main Pokemon is a Mienshao, though he also has a Mankey and Monferno who are constantly fighting one another, Meinshao, being the oldest, is typically the one to break up these fights. The joke here is his Pokemon have more personality than he does.
Denki Kaminari - Pikachu from a personality test. It’ll evolve into an Alolan Raichu. He also has a Blitzle with Lighting Rod as it’s ability along a Tynamo and a Toxel (Amped) who are both still in training. Very baby.
Ejiro Kirishima - Wants to be a Dragon type gym leader. He has a Druddigon that hated him he caught in middle school, because that’s Crimson Riot’s ace Pokemon. His first Pokemon was his dad’s Gigalith who acts as a dad to his Druddigon.
Koji Koda - His first Pokemon was a Buneary he hatched. It hates him, to this day, it’s best move is Frustration. It wants to be a battler, they only went to UA because it signed up for this school behind his back. He wanted to be a Pokemon Breeder. He also has a Happiny and an Audino.
Rikido Sato - His mom gave him her Pikachu as a starter. It’s currently an Alolan Raichu from the amount of sweets he’s given it. He also has an Alcremie he nursed back to health when it was injured, and a Ribombee.
Mezo Shoji - Has his dad’s Cinccino, an Aipom, and a Grapplot. They’re all very calm and quiet Pokemon, usually just hanging off him in various ways. Cinccino will beat the ass of whoever didn’t clean their dishes in the dorms, though.
Kyoka Jiro - Toxtricity (Low Key) from her dad, and a Mime Jr. that’ll evolve into a Mr. Ryme. She wants to be a strong battler but she also wants to preform in Pokemon Musicals and Contests.
Hanta Sero - Bug type trainer, his two current out of the ball Pokemon are a Caterpie and Sewaddle that are always on his shoulders. His first Pokemon was a Grubbin, currently a Vikavolt. They all know string shot and like to cocoon him whenever possible. On the hunt for a Wurmple next.
Fumikage Tokoyami - His first Pokemon was an Inkay he befriended. Sense evolving into a Malamar it refuses to listen to him, tending to act on it’s own or even hypnotize him to keep him from getting in it’s way. He also seems to attract wild Murkrow whenever he’s outside.
Shoto Todoroki - His Pokemon will get full indepth looks later in the post just know his starter was a Tepig from an egg his dad gave him. The rest of his team are ice types like Weavile and Glalie. He also cares for his mom’s Frosslass and Frosmoth. His room is full of Snom.
Toru Hagakura - Has her mom’s Alolan Ninetails, along with a Kecleon that is almost always invisible. Her Kecleon and Tsyu’s Drizzle are best friends.
Katsuki Bakugo - Obviously his Typholsion which evolved during entrance exams. He also has a Magmortar, a Larvitar he’s training, and a Ferrothorn he has for type coverage.
Izuku Midoriya - We’ll go over the growth of his team in a second, just know for a very long time (around midway though where season 3 is) Eevee was his only Pokemon. Now he has a Breloom as well.
Minoru Mineta - Has a Crogunk from a personality test that poison jabs him everytime he says or does anything pervy like Brock from the Pokemon anime. He also has a Zygarde Core he claims is an extremely rare and very powerful Pokemon.
Momo Yaoyorozu - Magearna is her staple Pokemon, her father bought it for her when she was very little. She also has both a male and female Indeedee.
This is all current as of season 5 teams, so some backstory on where some Pokemon came from may happen later.
That took...longer than expected... Back to plot!
I can’t take too long to talk about the USJ Incident, because it’s not the biggest deal and I’d have to go into pro-hero ie Ace and Veteran Trainer’s Pokemon, along with League of Villain stuff so we’re gonna gloss over this for just a hot second.
Just know LOV is the evil team in this AU. They want to take down the Pokemon League, and AFO wants the OFA gem Toshinori passed down to Izuku.
Sports Festival aka Battle Tournament time:
This is mostly Shoto Todoroki growth and learning.
His father, Enji Todoroki, is an Elite Four member who wants to overthrow the Champion and take his throne. Of course, he never could, so he married rich, Rei Todoroki, and harshly trained his children to be Pokemon Champions.
Shoto’s Tepig, currently a Pignite, is a the direct offspring of Endevor’s Emboar, and he refuses to use it in fear it may evolve and become exactly like his father. Shoto only uses half his team, and distances himself from his one true partner to throw away his father’s legacy.
Pignite, however, demands to battle Izuku and it’s fullest, even when Shoto refuses to allow it.
Izuku is the one to convince him that it’s HIS partner! His FRIEND! That he can trust his Pignite and if he’s too scared to evolve it it doesn’t HAVE to evolve! It’s fine as a Pignite, it fights for YOU Shoto! Put your trust in your partner!
This pushes him to not only use Pignite, but the Pokemon his mother entrusted him with as well, such as her Froslass.
All the meanwhile, Iida discovers his brother, current leader of the Iida Gym, was attacked by Team LOV, his Pokemon were stolen, and he was gravely injured.
Team LOV uses Shadow Pokemon, Pokemon who have closed off their hearts to humans and attack without mercy. Battles end in death, for both the trainer and the Pokemon. Tensei is lucky to still be alive.
All that remains of his trusted team is the family’s Aegishlash, their Grandfather’s first partner, and a trusted Iida family member. Tensei, unable to fully battle without his full team, passes on the Iida family Pokemon to Tenya, along with the promise to one day guard the Gym’s name.
This arc is almost completely without Stain and I genuinely don’t know how to really... incorporate him correctly. His morals are kinda weird to me and getting that to work around Pokemon would be hard. So I’m just making him a Team LOV admin. Sorry Stain, I know you stand for better than this, but I just... Can’t work with it.
Queue Tenya Iida’s bad boy arc, as he goes hunting after Team LOV with plans to shut down the entire organization single-handedly.
Of course this doesn’t work out and he end up in a fight with Team LOV Admin, Stain, who proceeds to kick his teeth in using dirty tactics and shadow Pokemon. This is the most OOC thing that’ll be in this AU I swear I’m so sorry Stain...
During this fight Midoriya starts to really see the backlash of using OFA at it’s limit, as both he and Eevee end up passing out from exhaustion, allowing Stain to get away, landing them both in the hospital.
Grand Torino doesn’t have words to teach Midoriya how to use OFA correctly, he simply gives him an egg and is off on his way. He’ll figure it out, he’s a smart kid.
Izuku spends most of his summer training camp caring for this egg, while everyone else is testing battle match ups, double battles, rotation battles, along with facing against type disadvantages and, of course, catching new team members in the surrounding forest.
Which of course brings us to Team LOV’s attack on the Summer Training Camp, and I’m again going to try and speed run their Pokemon partners, and this time I will be sticking to the Pokemon they have as of the attack on the camp, rather than future teams. Meaning I’m skipping AFO entirely right now. Also Nomu are replaced entirely with Shadow Pokemon.
Tomura Shigaraki (Team Boss) - All of his Pokemon are acquired from AFO, including his main Pokemon, Giratina (Altered Form), Dusknoir, and Golurk. The only Pokemon he has of his own is Banette
Dabi (Team Admin)- His ace is a Charizard constantly in it’s Mega-X form. He also has a Shiny Ponyta, Lampent, and a Shadow Reshiram gifted to him by LOV
Toga (Team Admin)- Her ace is a Ditto that tries to transform into people rather than Pokemon. She treats it like a person and calls it her friend rather than her partner. She also controls shadow versions of The Lake Trio; Uxie, Azelf, and Mespirit
Twice (Team Admin)- His ace is a Zweilous, the two heads are constantly fighting and he’s back and forth on stopping them. He’s not a very competent trainer and tends to give double commands. He’s in charge of a Shadow Kyurem.
Muscular (Team Admin)- Could care less about his bond with his Pokemon, they’re all shadow Pokemon. Machamp, Heracross, Hariyama, and Conkeldurr. He also has a Buzzwole, though it doesn’t seem to be a shadow Pokemon.
Spinner (Grunt)- Scyther, Escavalier, and Shedinja.
Magne (Grunt)- Plusle, Minun, and a Morpeko. Supports Spinner in Double Battles, she’s not a direct fighter.
Mr. Compress (Grunt)- Mr. Mime is is ace, he also as a Mr. Ryme and a Clefairy. They all know Metronome and use it even when he tells them not to.
Mustard (Grunt)- Wheezing, Dustox, Stunky, and Amoongus. Very defensive.
Moonfish (Grunt)- Has too many Unown. Are they even his Pokemon? They just kinda surround him and attack all at once. He does not give them any commands. Is he even alive? He doesn’t seem to move much.
Moonfish, Mustard, and Muscular all get captured, their Pokemon are moved into protective custody, Shadow Pokemon are treated and rehabilitated. And of course, Bakugo is kidnapped by the evil team.
During the raid on Team LOV’s hideout, Ace Trainers, Gym Leaders, and Elite Four members manage to contain all shadow Pokemon and transport them to safer facilities, though with plenty of struggle.
All for One fight happens, and true anime style, Toshinori’s ace, Scorbunny, manages to take down AFO’s Giritina (Origin Form), allowing for his capture. With the cost of revealing to the world the toll OFA has taken on both Toshinori and his partner.
I wish I could find some way to talk about the Dorm episode because it and the first episode of season 4 are easily my favorite episodes. They’re just so cute, and it’d only be cuter with partner Pokemon and growing bonds and all that. Please take this moment to appreciate those episodes.
Moving into the Dorms is about the right time for Izuku’s egg from Grand Tirino to hatch! Surprise! It’s a... Shroomish?? Granted he’s a bit confused at first, but Toshinori helps a bit. He won’t just give him the answer of course. What kind of teacher does that?
Izuku realizes he can’t put too much of OFA’s strain on just his Eevee, he need to lessen the weight on his partner. He talks to Shroomish about it, explain how it works and says if he doesn’t want to battle, he doesn’t have to.
But of course Shroomish wants to battle! It wants great power and to be best friends with Midoriya and Eevee!
Shroomish evolves during license training, which I’m not 100% positive how to translate into this AU... I’m so sorry to both the Provisional License (which has some of the best characters) and Stain for just completely glossing over whatever it is you all do but I just wanna keep going I’ve been writing for 8 hours straight now.
Internships time. I know there’s a lot of really REALLY good characters in this arc. Super cool, full of personality and the ability to go ham wild on their Pokemon teams is diving me wild rn but like the story of this arc is also super wild so I’ll spare y’all my ten page essay on Fatgum’s Pokemon, unless you wanna come into my ask box and ask for that spesifically, I will give it to you.
We’ll just do The big Three and move on:
Mirio Togata - His starter was defenetly a Ghastly, currently a Gengar full of love and laughs. He also has a Togekiss, Gliscor, and a Heracross. They’re all very happy, fun loving Pokemon, who trust eachother and Mirio very closely.
Neijire Hado - She started with a Mareep, now an Ampharos, she’s also currently caring for a Smoochum, and a Vibrava. Her Pokemon are constantly full of energy.
Tamaki Amajiki - He got a Smeargle from his Pokemon Personality test as a starter, much like him his Smeargle is very shy about it’s art, only showing it to Tamaki, Mirio, and Mirio’s Heracross. Her also has a Skrelp who doesn’t like to battle, and a Drifblim he hides behind.
Eri is a little girl currently plagued by Darkrai’s nightmares. Overhaul is using these nightmares to create the serum that turns Pokemon into Shadow Pokemon. His goal is to separate people and Pokemon permanently.
Because of her constant nightmares, Eri is terrified of Pokemon, and is always weary around them, especally if they are bigger than her.
Just like in the main story, Mirio and Izuku run into Eri while on patrol, and immedetly know something’s wrong, but can’t do anything, letting her slip back into the hands of Overhaul.
The Yakuza, in this AU, run the Pokemon Daycare as a front, thus they have a lotta eggs. During the raid of the base, Twice’s Zweilious, evolved into Hydreigeon, finds and gets attached to one such egg. He eventually gifts it to Toga.
During the battles of the raid, Overhaul turns quiet a few Pokemon into Shadow Pokemon, including Nighteyes’ ace, Xatu, who in the rage induced by becoming shadowed, attacks and gravely wounds Nighteye.
Mirio’s team does their best as well, but his team are also stripped of their hearts and bonds. Even so, he keeps fighting. He pushes them to please, keep going, for Eri! So she can know the joy of having her own Pokemon some day, and be free of all this pain!
He manages to keep them fighting until Izuku shows up, though by then he’s taken the brunt of quiet a few of his own Pokemon’s attacks and can no longer stand.
When the dust all settals, the Shadow Pokemon are gathered and slept for their own saftey. Eri’s grandfather, the Yakuza Boss, is still in a coma. In his room police find an egg, a gift meant for Eri, her first Pokemon.
But she’s still too scared of Pokemon to accept it.
School Festival time; Time to go after Jiro’s true passion: Pokemon Preformances!
I have a personal weakness for the Pokemon Musicals from Black and White, and it fits this little section here where they all put on a concert with singing and dancing and the whole idea of Jiro and Denki’s Toxtricitys jamming together on stage is making me soft so like
That’s what happens
And it helps Eri get over her fear of Pokemon. Not entrily all at once, but for a moment, just a moment, all these Pokemon having fun, dancing and singing, wearing cute little clothes just... Makes her so happy!
So.
That’s the plot thus far, as of anime standards, that’s about where I am and it’s almost all my thoughts. I have a few miscellaneous things to clean up, sense I know quiet a few manga bits, so feel free to stop here if your an Anime causual like me.
Also! If I didn’t include someone’s team and you’d like to know, or you want to judge me on my reasons for giving certain people certain Pokemon, send me an ask. I’ll gladly explain. I have explinations. A lot of them.
OKAY MISCELLANEOUS TIME NOW:
Eri’s egg from her grandfather has a Celebi in it, the cure to Shadow Pokemon. I’m not sure when it’ll hatch, but she takes care of it every day.
Mirio actually still has his team! They’re just shadow Pokemon now, so they rarely listen to him and often attack him. He doesn’t particapate in real battles anymore, for fear his Pokemon will hurt someone else, but he still trains and plays with them the best he can! He’s constantly covered in scratches and bites.
Dabi’s charizard was given to him as a Charmander by his dad. His father claimed he wasn’t a good trainer because he cared and cried too much when his Pokemon got hurt, and took the Charmander from him. In this AU, Dabi isn’t believed dead, he just ran away from home after taking his Charmander back.
Team LOV actually made Charizard X, as theories say it’s a man-made mega evolution form and I think that’s cool, and Dabi forced it onto his partner. Charizard ended up nearly killing Dabi with it’s sudden strength.
Kurogiri is a Shadow Marshadow forcibly possessing Oboro Shirakumo, he has no Pokemon of his own, nor does he battle. Shirakumo isn’t dead in this AU, just possessed. Kinda in a coma?
After Twice dies, Toga takes care of his Hydreigeon. The egg he gave her hatches after he’s dead, and it’s a Zorua. She tells it all about Twice, refering to him as the Zorua’s daddy because I just think that’s cute leave me be. Hydreigeon is a VERY good parental Pokemon to Zorua.
With the loss of Muscular, Mr. Compress is promoted to admin and given a Hoopa, which he chooses to confine to it’s smaller, weaker form. It’s the only legendary Pokemon that Team LOV has that isn’t a Shadow Pokemon.

Pokemon anime openings and marketing energy through the years.
Indigo league- The energy was Pokemania. All about Gotta catch em all. the Gen 1 anime was all about shilling gen 2
Pokemon theme song: an absolute Earworm that used the catch phrase of the series that DEFINED A WHOLE GENERATION: "Gotta catch em all" wrapped in a high energy banger.
Pokemon World: Huge 90's party song energy with a hook that sits dormant in your brain until it plays.
Johto- The energy of begging the flame not to die out.
Pokemon Johto: Sells out the series by being the best opening. A pop rock banger singing about the general vibe of gen 2. It's a whole new world but ya still gotta catch em all and be the best that you can be.
Born to be a winner: the energy of the first opening trying to recapture the earworm energy.
Believe in me: This contributed to the generation long desire for fans to see Ash win. He loses to a Blaziken and Kecleon this gen.
Hoenn- The flame has died but it doesn't matter. Pokemon will keep moving
I wanna be a hero: A protagonist being the protagonist song
This dream: the dream is being good enough to beat the gyms and league
Unbeatable: to be fair Ash was pretty good this gen, not unbeatable but pretty good. The themes are just Pokemon mood energy at this point.
Battle Frontier: Maybe the real treasure was the Pokemon the series Ruby and Sapphire Battle Frontier we found along the way.
Pokerap GS Chronicles theme: They reuse the Gen 2 Pokerap they never used
Sinnoh- Vague themes about various shit then they say the title of the season.
Diamond and Pearl: The rock music stops here. Now all the themes are Dadrock or soft rock acoustic guitar. The opening no longer matters beyond the 30 seconds you hear it before an episode.
We will be heroes: Soft rock. Destiny, changing the world and friendship.
Battle Cry (STAND UP!): Dadrock. Paths, heart, friendship and unity
We will carry on!: dadrock. IT'S ABOUT SELLING YOU ON GENERATION FOUR DIAMOND AND PEARL SINNOH LEAUGE VICTORS POKEMON!
Unova- much like the games the anime also pretends this is a blank slate IP
Black and White: softrock. The songs may matter again but man is this a downgrade to the japan opening to Pokemon: Best Wishes where the visuals would update episode to episode. Like holy fuck that was cool.
Rival Destines: softrock. Friendly rival the song. Hau, Hop, Bianca, May, Barry, Trace, Marnie. All of them are symbolized in this song.
It's always you and me: softrock. holy shit I regret thinking of this idea now. FUCK THESE OPENINGS OH MY GOD!
Kalos- A sort of return to form with a massive build up. Ash had the best team to date.
Pokemon theme: A shitty version of the original opening. Trying to recapture lightning. Hell In japan Kalos had some banger openings, at least it's not some light song about friendship, destiny and paths.
Be a hero: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Mega Volt: So anyway they do a remix of the first opening of XY, a Mega version if you will. It just encapsulates the energy of gen 6 and how much of a banger this season is. Hmmm what? We're moving on to XYZ? You know I'm still mad how Zygarde got fucked over. Kalos was a pretty good region.
Pokemon XYZ by Rica Matsumoto: This song has anime opening that plays during hero moment energy and I love it.... what do you mean that's the Japanese opening? Stand tall? Sounds like a shitty imagine dragons? Dude I don't know what you're talking about. So anyway THEN THEY MAKE A VERSION FOR THE OST WITHOUT LYRICS FOR GRENINJA'S BATTLE BOND FORM CHANGE IT'S SO COOL!
Alola- these openings all have "i want to sound Hawaiian but don't really care" energy.
Journeys- I hate how close this season is to everything I want out of a Pokemon anime. Slice of life, avoids the core story like a deathly virus in 2020 and a character based on the core tenant of Pokemon "Gotta catch em all". All we're missing is getting rid of Ash and having him be a battle at the league.
The Journey starts today: modern Pokemon commercial trailer energy. you know what i mean.
