I was trying to Google “what food do rich only rich people eat” (because of a convo I was having with my brother) and got a stupid quora question result “what food do rich people eat they are always skinny”
And surprisingly people actually acknowledged rich people having enough money to pay for cosmetic surgeries like liposuction and also expensive trainers
But one person was like “rich people are rich because they have self discipline which means they also don’t indulge in junk food” no the majority of rich people are not rich because they are penny pinchers or whatever stupid bullshit they’re rich because they were born rich because great great great great grand dad owned 2,000 slaves or stole land from indigenous peoples or taxed the shit out of poor tenant farmers or participated in business racketeering and vertical integration and their family has had money to invest and keep growing their wealth and purchase companies other people built ever since.
the American entrepreneur is rarely a poor immigrant who has a Good Idea and works hard. it’s almost always wealth acquired through unethical means. god damn even thomas edison stole, sued, harassed, and maybe even killed his own research assistant’s or competitor’s inventions and he’s supposed to be the American ideal from the gilded age, the shining star amongst the corruption.
rich people are not cut from a finer cloth than poor people or whatever. rich people: don’t have to deal with food deserts, can shop at fancy grocery stores, afford cooking lessons OR higher other people to cook for them, afford personal trainers, have the leisure and resources to dive deep into recreational sports like tennis or kayaking, easier to seek treatment for mental illnesses that cause overeating or disordered eating, get liposuction, have their stomachs stapled, hell even get some weight loss medication, or can get scripts to abuse prescription meds for their side effects of appetite suppression or weight loss, and most importantly, they can afford to buy healthy foods.
i literally do not buy vegetables or raw meat anymore because I do not eat them fast enough OR know how cook them consistently (I’m always afraid of undercooking meat so I overcook it until it’s basically burned and hard). Now I only buy lunch meat and frozen chicken nuggets. I buy my groceries at target. It’s cheap, I get a discount, I buy the generic versions of food items, AND it’s easier to shop lift food items from. also I work a physical labor job. When I come home at 8 pm I don’t have the energy to cook much of anything so I’m making a frozen dinner or eating left over pasta, which I cook often two boxes of at a time specifically so I can have leftovers for the whole week. And I am fat. I have too surgery in a month and I hit a few hospital’s BMI ceiling so I have to be seen at xyz hospital.
the quora post also made the assumption that skinny = healthy which is not the case. one of my cousins teeters the line between healthy and underweight. I shared a kitchen with her for 6 months. that woman puts lite beer and weed into her body and that’s it. all I picture when I imagine skinny rich man is Ryan Howard on the office during his cocaine addiction. yes Martha you’re skinny but it’s LITERALLY the diet of Vodka and Klonopin.
tl;dr yeah, poor people are often fatter and rich people are often skinny but it has nothing to do with a personality defect in poor people lacking self control and has everything to do with lack of access to resources for a healthy lifestyle. this is to say nothing about how this all contributes to a shorter life expectancy for poor people.

Do men find muscular women attractive?
We recently went to the streets of New York to ask men about their preferences, and the main question was “Do men find muscular women attractive”. Not many of them had a quick answer for that, and it took some time to rethink if muscular women are attractive to them. We also did our research on the other similar polls, and we took the average from all of that to make our data most relevant and show it to you in this article.

For now, as a quick answer to the question: “Do men find muscular women attractive” we will say… Yes, men do find muscular women attractive, about 37% percent of total men were in favor of this statement, and only 16% percent said that they are against that, the rest of them were indifferent. That gives us 47% percent of men who don’t have any opinion on this topic, but almost all men in our street interview told us something more about it, how muscular the woman should be or which parts of the body should look better than others, stay with us to learn more!
Statistics in details
You can say that 37% is not enough to convince you what men do like muscular women, but think about that 47% of men who don’t know yet if they do like it or not. Those men just need some more time to rethink if they like it, so let’s say that only half of them will be positive about that idea, then we can speak of 60.5% of men that consider muscular women to be attractive.
You should be looking at men that definitely said they don’t like muscular women, and that’s only 16%. If an individual man didn’t say straightforwardly that he doesn’t like that, then we have a high chance that he will like it in the future. Almost all of that 37% said it definitely, and they were sure about that answer.
What should be the maximum muscularity level for a woman?
Many of the men that we’ve asked said something additional about this topic. Half of them said pointed that they don’t mean a woman should be a female bodybuilder, but something in between. Unfortunately, almost all said that they will feel more comfortable if their woman won’t be looking more muscular than they are, similar thing like girls prefer a man that is taller than them.
Many pointed at the abs, as the main body part that they will like to see muscular. So girl you know what your goal should be, that visible six-pack!
Why do men like muscular women?
We asked about this, our friendly Dr. Jill Rokicky who has a psychology degree to give us the best answer, and that’s what she said: “Human beings are attracted by muscles and repel by body fat. We all know that women are attracted by muscular men, and the same mechanism works in the opposite direction, which is common in our nature. We associate muscles as a healthy body build, that comes from our ancestors when they needed to fight for food to survive, also today we don’t have that many muscular people so they stand out from the crowd, and that’s what we like.”
Only 5% of men in total are above the normal range of muscle mass, which means they really stand out from the crowd, but when we look at the women then we talk about less than 1% that is above the normal range. So if see a muscular woman on the street that’s a really rare view, and more than 5 times less frequent than seeing a muscular man. In our recent poll, we asked the men “How thin is too thin for a man” so make sure to stay in some healthy range with building a muscle mass.
Dr. Jill Rokicky also said: “Many men won’t publicly admit that they like when a woman is muscular, because of the social aspects. It can even be considered a fetish. If a woman starts to do things ‘only’ men should do, like being a bodybuilder, society will start to slowly repel her. Also like a poor person can’t hang out with rich people because that looks weird to many, and that’s why most men even if they do like when muscular woman, won’t publicly admit that”. That’s just how it is in 2021, and we can’t change the world, but we can change people around us, so try to stick with people who support your goals!
Women ashamed of their muscles
Many women avoid getting additional muscle mass because they’re afraid of what guys will say about that. In nowadays society, we tend to force women to be feminine, gentle, and polite. That’s how the little girls are being raised from the start, so after they’ve reached that age of “looking for a boyfriend” they don’t want to do anything that can increase their muscle mass, except some squats. Skinny women have more visible muscle because of the lack of body fat, that’s a quick solution to make your body more shredded.
Women that are doing extreme sports like bouldering, tend to hide their muscle under a hoodie or a long sleeves shirt, that’s sad to see but that’s how it is, so girls you have to know that there are way more men that are attracted to men, so don’t hide your good form! In summary – Do men find muscular women attractive?
As a woman you should aim to be healthy and build some muscle mass, and don’t be ashamed only because people around you treat it as something bad, just don’t give up! From our data, we can say that there are more men which do like muscular women, and even more that they also think about it that way, but they won’t publicly admit that.
So keep up doing a great job at your gym, and stay positive! That right man for you is somewhere there and he will find you no matter what, and if your body can help you stand out from the crowd then it will be even faster for him to find you.

Being fat isn’t a bad thing. Being malnourished is.
Not only is obesity a problem in america because healthy food and access to good healthcare are super fucking expensive, but the amount of people that are both obese, and malnourished at the same time, is at a phenomenal record high. This is because processed foods are cheap and easy to make, and cheap and easy to consume. They have a lot of the energy your body needs, but none of the materials that your body needs to rebuild itself. So when you eat fast food, you’re likely to eat it in large amounts to make up for the lack of vitamins that it gives you. 
I grew up in poverty, with a shitty, neglectful dad. The only thing my dad knew how to make was spaghetti, and i was under his care. I ate so much spaghetti that I threw up. I ate so much spaghetti but was still hungry. Still tired, still not paying attention in class, still not nourished. Because spaghetti didn’t have the materials that my body and brain needed to thrive. I was surviving, but my brain’s ability to regulate thought, sleep, and emotion, was stagnated. All because the food that I had didn’t have enough nutrition. 
Let me explain further. Imagine you’re a fisherman. You fish at a pond every day. The big fish are hard to catch, but nourish you very well. The little fish are too easy to catch, there are a lot of them, and they don’t nourish you well at all. In this metaphor, the big fish are the foods that contain enough materials for your body to rebuild itself and keep up vital functions. Your brain also uses these materials to regulate everything. These materials are essential to your survival. Now, let’s go back to the little fish: these fish have way, way more energy in them than the big fish. But they have little to no building materials inside of them. You would have to eat hundreds of them a day for your body to get everything it needs. 
For rich people, who can pay people to fish for them, tell them which fish is better for them, prepare the fish, buy bigger rods and boats and nets, catching the big ones isn’t an issue. 
For poor people, who only have a stick, or their bare hands, or a net, can’t catch the big fish. They can’t afford to, and they don’t have the energy to do so. So what are they supposed to do? Just “work harder”? Go out of their way to get the big fish? Are they even able to do that? Are they disabled and physically incapable of catching the big fish? Can they just not muster up the energy to do it because of how tired they are already because their brain isn’t getting enough nutrients?
Do you see the problem yet, or should I continue?
What about rich people who didn’t use to be rich, or prefer the small fish because they aren’t used to the big fish, don’t like them, or are too lazy to go out of their way to get big fish?
Obesity isn’t a problem, it’s the result of a problem. Fat people should absolutely not be shamed. They shouldn’t be victim to jokes, and shouldn’t be afraid to be fat. In fact, someone who’s fat because they eat large amounts of “big fish” (healthy and nutrient dense foods) are far less likely to get heart disease than a skinny person who, when they do eat, eat small amounts of the little fish. Obesity isn’t a problem, at least, not all obesity. 
See, there are two different types of accumulating weight: 
gaining weight by eating healthy foods often, drinking fresh water, and exercising moderately (not exercising extremely to the point of being underweight, which has been shown to be very stressful on the body. You’re not supposed to use all of the calories you consume, you need to save some for your body to be able to think and sleep properly.)
And gaining weight because you have no other choice. You have to eat. You have to eat, and because the only thing you can eat is cheaply mass produced foods that have high amounts of energy but low amounts of materials, your body stores the energy it doesn’t need, and desperately soaks up any nutrition it can get. And not only is it cheap and easy to afford, it’s also easy to eat and easy to digest, which makes it addictive. 
The human brain is lazy, and so is the human body. The body doesn’t want to work hard for nutrients and energy. In fact, it’s designed to do it by expending the least amount of energy possible. So these foods, which are the only foods you can afford anyways, are easy to process. Easy to digest. Easy, easy, easy. Your brain likes easy. Your brain likes the word and concept of easy very much. Fast food is very addictive this way, and so are most of the cheap foods that aren’t from a restaurant but from a grocery store. Cereals, chips, bread, pasta, ice cream. All of these things are easy to digest. Which makes them very appealing, and very addictive.
And so a lot of people that have “problems” with their weight don’t understand that it’s not bad to be fat. It’s bad to be malnourished. 
Your brain needs materials to survive and think and work properly. A prison study showed that when supplements that provide the proper vitamins and minerals that they need along side of their unhealthy prison food reduced violence by a whopping 39%. But that’s not the only report of proper nutrition reducing emotional instability. 
The fast food industry is predatory. It takes all of the things that your brain is designed to love, and enhances them. Which causes enhanced reactions. Have you ever felt your mouth water at the thought of a deep fried chicken strip with cheese sauce and msg, and then moaned when you bit into it? It’s designed to be addictive, and a lot of fast food companies and even regular food companies like grocery stores add sugar and msg to everything. In case you don’t know what msg is, it’s a chemical that’s made up of all of the things that our brains love. It’s not harmful, but it’s very, very delicious, and very, very addictive. Hell, msg is in the official KFC secret recipe. 
“Colonel's secret blend of herbs and spices? It came very close, yet something was still missing. That's when a reporter grabbed a small container of the MSG flavor-enhancer Accent (how did that get in the test kitchen?) and sprinkled it on a piece of the fried chicken. That did the trick. Our chicken was virtually indistinguishable from the batch bought at KFC. (Does KFC add MSG? A KFC spokesperson confirms that it does use it in the Original Recipe chicken.)”
And the kicker? It’s not even unhealthy to be fat. It’s just unhealthy to consume products that have high energy (calories) but low building materials (vitamins, minerals, healthy fats). In fact, a lot of perfectly healthy people constantly work out to exhaustion and eat as little as possible to avoid being fat, when the fact of the matter is, that having a bit of a tummy, thighs, and hips, (for both men and women!) Is not only healthy, but we’re designed to be in that state. That’s why people keep gaining back weight time after time, diet after diet. 
Because some people? Are designed to more aggressively store body fat than others, regardless of diet or exercise. I know people that could eat an entire barn full of cows and still not have a single inch of fat on them, and I also know a lot of my fat friends don’t binge eat. They don’t eat fast food constantly, and they don’t have a lazy or unhealthy lifestyle. They’re fat, because they’re supposed to be. That’s what they’re designed to be. 
Let me repeat: being fat isn’t bad for you, unhealthy food is. You can acumulate fat, and still be healthy. Fat doesn’t NOT mean unhealthy, under any circumstances. And in fact, fat people often go on to lead normal, productive lives. My teacher, for instance, is fat. But she’s also a math genius that use to work for the National Nuclear Security Administration as an Engineer until she came back to teach in her hometown. And she was fat. 
To be honest, weight has zero to do with what you can accomplish. Nutrition, sleep, water, and a healthy mindset that comes from good coping mechanisms and therapy does. And the fact that poor people don’t have access to.. most of these? Is the cherry on the cake. Making us unable to think is the first step in us being complacent. The government not providing proper mental and physical care, and also not providing good and healthy food/supplements, combined with the negative stigma around being overweight, is a system designed not to hurt just the fat: but to hurt the poor.

ok i get what you mean about rich celebrities and plastic surgery and stuff...but all the time i see girls in real life who are skinny and pretty. who haven't had any plastic surgery or even wear makeup (literally), i don't even think they have very thorough skincare routines, they eat and exercise like normal people, their clothes are not sexy or fashionable all the time. i'm not ugly or too fat but i feel so ridiculous next to them
Not to be that person, but you really don’t know what those girls are doing behind the scenes.  The best cosmetic procedures are almost invisible.  The most convincing makeup is “no makeup makeup” looks.  You don’t know if they see a dermatologist regularly for their skin or if they’ve been on Accutane, or if they have an eating disorder like bulimia, or if they’re SoulCycle addicts, or if they have hair extensions, or if they’ve carefully curated their wardrobes to give a laid back, chill, “I put no thought into this outfit” vibe.  I think this cultural idea that we have of “effortless beauty” is really insidious because it puts the onus on women to not only look perfect, but to pretend like looking perfect took them no effort.  And some people are really, really good at hiding the effort, but that doesn’t mean they’re not making it.  I used to live with one of those girls and trust me when I say that the behind the scenes is very different to what you would imagine.
Look, I’m sure there are people out there who just look like that. A good example of that might be someone like Karlie Kloss, who just looked Like That as a teenager.  But she’s also 6′2 and spent her childhood as a ballerina, and was severely underweight as a result of that.  That’s its own effort, even if it doesn’t seem like it/didn’t seem like it to her.
On the flip side, it would be disingenuous to say that all effort is equal.  Some women have a much harder time fitting into the highly restrictive mold of acceptable beauty that we have as a culture, and that’s something it’s important to talk about and to challenge.  For some women it’s easier to maintain a small figure because they’re small boned, grew up with healthy eating habits, and have a hobby that involves exercise.  For others, it’s a bigger challenge because they don’t have that same background.  Some people naturally have clear skin (or are on birth control and now have clear skin).  For other people, acne will always be a challenge.  Some people are more proportionate than others or have a body that looks great in “I just threw this on” clothes or any number of other things.  But for virtually all of those people who have something that comes easily to them (and I bet you have something that comes easily to you, too), there’s also something that’s effort for them.
I don’t know if I have a big, sweeping conclusion for what we should do about all of this.  Life isn’t fair, some people are born more beautiful than others, and it seems wrong to expect everyone else to put in the effort to get to their level (although if you can and you want to, maybe that’s some sort of solution on the individual level for now).  Ultimately, we’ll have to dismantle the idea that beautiful is the most important thing a woman can be, and this idea that beautiful is only the body type that’s popular right this second.  
Maybe take a second to unfollow people on social media who make you feel badly about yourself, follow people with more diverse bodies and beauties, and think about the things you do really love about yourself, physical or not?  And in the future when you see one of those girls, try to imagine what kind of effort she must have put in to look so effortless.

Strangely neither did I until I stumbled upon a listicle entitled 75 Things No Woman Over 50 Should Own on the delusionarily titled bestlifeonline.com. There, along with the usual arbitrary selections of sartorial crimes against humanity, (tracky bottoms, skinny scarves, bolero jackets), were the following:-

Talk about random. And there’s more; much more. It appears I should have jettisoned my giant pin boards at least twenty years ago, along with my magnifying mirror, stuffed animals, coloured pens, fairy lights, frameless posters, cheap mismatched silverware, decorations based on cartoon characters, mismatched towels, striped wallpaper, tassels, and elaborate keychains. (They’d have a blue fit if they knew that one of my keychains has both a twiddly fake key and a tassel on it). In fact the entire website is little more than an endless litany of stuff you should feel ashamed about owning, wearing, and in some cases, even saying. Like I totes can’t say “totes” – me, a writer, who loves slang so much she has at least a bookshelf-and-a-half dedicated to it. I also can’t say: “OMG”,  “humblebrag”, “talk to the hand”, “fauxpology”, “sorry not sorry”, “I can’t even”, “as if”, “sus”, (a term in common UK parlance among people of all age groups for the duration of my lifetime), “ship”, (fuck you; Spuffy forever), and…wait for it…”adulting”, even though I plainly know a good deal more about doing it than the embarrassingly embarassable twelve year old ninny who probably wrote the article.

And still on the subjects of lists that give me the right royal pip, there’s thelist.com. 
“If you are familiar with Dr Martens, you are too old to wear them.” 
I’m sorry, what now?! 
“We know those Crocs and orthopaedic shoes are super comfy, but they're not doing you any favours. There's something to be said for smart, sensible footwear, but you don't have to sacrifice your style and give away your age just to save yourself a few blisters”.
Unless of course you suffer with any kind of condition that dictates you  have to wear fugly orthopaedic footwear, as numerous older people do. And blisters are the least of my problems, bub. Believe me the bunting and party hats come out when I can persuade anything approaching normal-looking footwear to accommodate my orthotics. Doc Martens are one of the precious few options available to me. I am, incidentally, feeling especially “salty” (another word my age precludes me from using), about this right now as, having discovered I can sometimes wear sandals with a moulded orthotic-like sole, these Office sandals...

...which I genuinely love and desperately wanted to rock this summer, damn near crippled me when I tried them on. 
For all the blather about older women being able to cast off the shackles of convention and wear what we please, (or whatever the expert du jour thinks is within reason), the same unspoken assumptions that prevail in mainstream ladymedia are present in spades on these websites. Nobody reading could possibly be fat, or if they are they’re assumed to be fighting their poor beleaguered bodies unto death. The only chub ever alluded to, (albeit soto voce), is “middle aged spread”, but only the vestigial kind that can be miraculously rendered  invisible by the belting of an “unflattering” oversized garment in the middle. 
“Show off your curves by adding a cute belt to that dress or coat. It will accentuate your shape and let you still wear those comfortable items in your wardrobe without looking like you're wearing a muumuu.”
Never mind that I quite like wearing a muumuu, far from showing off my curves, belting any of my coats would make me look like the Albert Hall, which while undoubtably a Look, is not one I’m after.  
“Balance is important when it comes to crafting a stylish look. Wearing oversized clothing disrupts that delicate equilibrium and unintentionally ages you.”  
What. Ever.

The hectoring never lets up. 
“There really is no such thing as grown up glitter when it comes to apparel, so it's best to accept that fact and avoid glittery tops, bottoms, and everything else!”

Among the ten items everyday.health.com bans me from wearing on account of my encroaching dotage are “too trendy denim”. Apparently I’m “not in my element” with it so my hard work was all for nought. Also verboten are oversized, overly decorated hobo bags, cheap unflattering underwear; (fat chance of finding cheap underwear in plus-sizes anyway though apparently I should do like the Sainted Gwyneth and wear Spanx under everything. Because she totally needs to and I so enjoy colic); and…wait for it…wait for it...

...“loud accessories”. This includes, horror of horrors, plastic earrings, which apparently I forfeited the right to wear at 35. (Do they count vintage phenolic, bakelite, and lucite as plastic I wonder? Because if enough rich older women get dissuaded from wearing it I might actually be able to afford some instead of faking it). Instead I’m exhorted to make a... 
“Stunning Substitute: think quality and quantity. Limit yourself to one funky accessory per outfit – as long as it’s well-made. Think a leopard-print scarf, thin silver bangles or a gold clutch to dress up nice jeans and a simple top”. 
Yeah, no. And, by the way here’s a picture of Helen Mirren in quite the loudest plastic necklace I’ve ever seen which, as you can plainly see, ages her terribly.

Which brings me neatly to the subject of role models. Dame Helen comes up a lot. Here’s Harper’s Bazaar with some more:
“Pay close attention to the way women like Robin Wright, Julianne Moore, and Kristin Scott Thomas dress. And revel in the moment when you can justify shopping for labels like Céline, Calvin Klein, Jil Sander, and the Row — because not all sweaters are created equal. The Perfect Length (not too long, not Rihanna short), with the just-tantalizing-enough neckline, is more than worth the extra zeros”.  
Wow. So much nope to pick apart in just three sentences! 
Firstly, while I’m sure they’re all perfectly charming, I look nothing at all like any of these women, so why would I aspire to their style? Secondly, they have allllllll the extra zeros in their bank accounts while I have zero zeros. Thirdly, even if I could afford any of those labels, (a sweater from The Row costs well over a thousand quid by the way), why the love of little fluffy kittens would anyone think I want to dress like this?

I mean I know I like an oversized garment but I’m good with Monki, thanks. If that lot doesn’t say, “this was the only shit I could find to fit me”, I don’t know what does. And quite what the tiny, terminally haggard looking Olsen twins, who dreamed up the wretched label, would look like in any of this eye-bleedingly expensive folderol I shudder to think. You’d probably need to send in the fire brigade to find them in all that fabric, poor loves.

At its root shaming-as-entertainment is a tool for capitalism, both simple and complex. Feel mortified for owning something age inappropriate? Buy something new and more grown up, preferably at enormous expense. Or, if pay day’s too far off, invest in some garbage gossip rag and bitch about the state of those richer and more famous than you are. It’ll make you feel great for all of five minutes, then you can fill the emptiness that follows in its wake with some cheap fast fashion or cake. Even though cake is naughty and unclean and fast fashion is killing the environment; but hey that’s what diet books (kerching!) and gym memberships (kerching!) and ethical fashion, (with a cut-off size of 16), are for, right?

Ironically, in yet another catalogue of grievous mistakes to make once you’re over forty, bestlifemyarse.com includes “neglecting your mental health” and “basing yourself-worth on what other people think”. But how the hell are women expected to do that under a constant barrage of opprobrium, not least since also included in the aforementioned list is “avoiding the scale”?

Tumblr, I put it to you that people are just as likely to buy stuff if they’re feeling good about themselves than if they’re feeling shite. I fucking love stuff but there has to be an alternative way to sell it that’s less damaging to our sanity and self esteem. That’s in part why fat women created their own media. But, the more it edges into the mainstream, the more it it puts the wind up advertisers and those who rely on their sponsorship. So now our message – the one about self acceptance and being able to live unrepentantly in the bodies we have – has been appropriated, de-fanged, and rebranded as “Body Positivity”, an ersatz movement intended to reassure average-sized women fretful they might be a little bit fat, with the added proviso, “as long as you’re healthy”, (i.e not fat). And while the net abounds with token examples of older lady bloggers granted the status of fashion maven, they’re all slender as reeds, and most of them are ex-models. Big fucking whoop. Meanwhile anyone of any age who is objectively fat is “promoting obesity” simply by expressing our personal style in public.

My collection of shells incidentally, includes some my mum brought me back from the Channel Islands when I was a child; a conch a friend dove for  in the Virgin Islands and presented me for my 19th birthday; several beauties that held pride of place in a late family friend’s study for decades; an abalone shell from New Zealand plucked from the beach by my Kiwi pal Di; a sand dollar from Ocean Beach in San Francisco given to me by my dear friend Jude who died of secondary breast cancer a few months before Jane did; some pebbles gathered with my friend Lesley in literal sub-zero temperatures on a completely deserted beach one not-so-flaming June up north, both of us in hysterics over the utter bleakness of it all, and a load more shells from the Pembrokeshire coast contributed by my friend Steve’s departed mum back in the 1980s. Even the bowl itself was given to me by Karen, whose parents found it in the attic of their new house and thought I might like it. It’s a veritable a lifetime in shells; a celebration of love and friendship spanning decades. In short it has meaning, which is a damned sight more than you can say for any of these wretched lists.

bev - i don’t know…she has really pale skin? i guess it’s what people mean when they say ‘milky’, like…porcelain…bev is so pretty it’s no surprise that that part of her is, too. she has a really small waist…and her stomach is really smooth and soft…she has freckles on other parts of her body, but her stomach doesn’t have any, it’s just all clear and perfect, like…certain parts of her are airbrushed or something
ben - ben probably has the nicest stomach out of everyone…because he works out so much and he’s really careful what he eats…i guess he has really low body fat, so he definitely has well-defined abs and…i don’t know why he ever feels bad about himself…i work out A LOT and i can’t get that kind of definition…because i still just eat whatever i want basically…i’m pretty jealous about it sometimes…but usually i’m just sad that he covers it up so much…
rich - richie is the skinniest one out of all of us, so it follows that he has a really flat stomach…he’s been gaining a little weight recently (in a good way), since he was ‘sick’, but he’s still super skinny. you can see his ribs all the time. not a lot, but you can. and you can definitely always feel them. he has freckles like bev, except bev’s are like an orangey color and richie’s are dark brown, and he has some moles, too. there’s a mole right next to his belly button. and i think richie is the only person who has any hair there, too…leading down to…there…
stan - at this point why do we even bother describing stan? you guys know he’s perfect, right? i know he puts a lot of effort in, because he is careful what he eats, and he runs quite a lot, and he’s really into personal grooming, but he looks like one of those white statues they have in museums, but like…prettier. he has some moles, but he doesn’t have any on his stomach, and there’s definitely no hair anywhere, because he hates it and he makes sure there isn’t
mike - mike has a really nice stomach, too…it’s not like…ben’s level of abs, but it’s pretty close. i don’t think mike watches what he eats, except that he eats healthy in general anyway, and he does work out, but not religiously or anything, but he’s just built kind of big and muscular and strong anyway i guess, and farm work is obviously super hard and basically constant, so…he has really nice skin, too…and he’s always warm
bill - bill is probably second skinniest next to richie…or maybe he’s drawn with stan…yeah…bill is like…stan’s body type, if stan was stronger and more clumsy…bill is pretty clumsy and reckless and he usually has bruises and cuts and marks on his body at all times, somewhere, and that includes his stomach…you can see his hipbones and even see his ribs in certain lights but also he’s really toned, and especially if you touch his stomach you can feel the muscles underneath

The small bed and breakfast of Seaside Cove isn't a place most people would find at first glance. It's somewhat off to the side, located on a cliff, it's driveway shielded by trees. One driving through, especially in poor weather, is likely to miss the blue sign that points it's way down that road, or they're more likely to see the yellow diamond that says No Outlet and pass it up completely.
This is what Cher Michaels deals with every time he makes his way into this town. Leaning over the back seat of his Ubers pointing no, no, there it's there… and often sitting back grumbling when they drive past. The small bed and breakfast of Seaside Cove is larger than most houses still. It's old, a tall and skinny Victorian home with with red shutters and a door also painted red. The mailbox is shaped like a large blue whale, and when he steps out of his Uber often his first act is to run his fingers over the details of the metal. Handmade he knows, by the owner's father before he disappeared and became the sort of person who kidnapped rich kids for money. Cher heard he was in jail again last time he talked to his sister. Neither of them knew how to feel about that, all things considered.
There have been a few additions over the years, newly applied paint and a repair of certain parts of the house, a wheelchair ramp and several colorful picnic tables overlooking the sea. The newest thing Cher finds this time is the binoculars sitting at the very edge of the cliff, just before the fence to keep people from falling over. Twenty five cents for a minute, fifty for two. He doesn't know how they keep all this up with prices like that. It's a cheap place to stay too, five open rooms with two beds each at the most and a fee that was far less than most in the area and a house that was hard to find. They get more business in tourist season, but not by much. They have benefactors of sorts, himself semi-included when he can get away with it, but he still can't say if it would be enough. *** Cher Michaels arrives on an off season, bundled up for the cold Friday afternoon after cutting his last class to get here. Accounting, he'd told his sister when she tried to chide him, a class he both hates and excels at so don't sound like such a mother, Darla. “Well, I'm a mother now aren't I?” “You're not mine.” (That phone conversation led to awkward silence, both of them remembering their own mother. Darla makes a sound, probably to ask how Angelique is doing if she's well if she's healthy, but Cher cuts her off before she can. “I'll be there in a bit.”) Now, standing in front of the house, he stuffs his hands into his pockets and shifts awkwardly. He wonders if she's working right now, because he hadn't called her when he got out of class and into the Uber. He wonders if he should have let her ask. *** The small bed and breakfast of Seaside Cove is run by a couple in their late thirties. Junior McCormick and his wife Norelle, their children Andrew and Mia, and Junior's grandfather Reginald. Aside from his sister, they're the only ones who run the house. It's a family business, Norelle had told him, you and your sister are family too. He tries not to think about that. He fails often, it's hard when Norelle McCormick spots you from the window and is suddenly ushering you in, cooing over you like an Aunt you haven't seen in a while even though Cher reminds her it's barely been a month. Darla's not there yet, but his niece and nephew are. Tristan, getting bigger and learning how to walk, chases after Norelle son, a teenager who has the whole angst thing down to a T. Amèlie, nearly five, lays on her stomach at the foot of Reggie's wheelchair, quietly coloring while the old man sleeps. It's hectic as always, and Cher has to thank God that only the bare amount of family is here right now. Thanksgiving had seen this as well as the Winters twins, Junior's half brother with his mother and their childhood friend, and even Junior's father who'd stopped in at the end of the day to cause a commotion and leave again only to be arrested the following month​ for breaking and entering. “No one else is coming, right?” “Well…” “Other than Darla and Jere.” *** He's playing with Mia and Tristan when Darla finally shows up. It's nearly evening when she comes in with her husband, both of them carrying groceries. She's surprised when she sees him there. “I didn't think you were serious about missing class, Cher.” “When do I lie about that?” “Fine, I hoped you weren't serious.” He shrugs. “I'll make up what I missed over the weekend while you're working.” They both know this isn't true. More likely: Tristan will demand his attention, Norelle will need someone to watch Mia, Amèlie will want him to play her favorite slow piano song a hundred times in an hour, Andrew will need help with math. Cher never considered himself to be good with kids until he found himself with his sister's and Norelle’s crawling all over him. He thinks he likes them now, maybe, sometimes. He thinks he's a decent tutor too, he thinks he's getting better at patience. At least, with children. Wouldn't​ want one of his own but... well, it's been pointed out he indulges and humors them more than adults, at least. Before that, though, he pulls a few things from his bag. Wrapped in brown paper and again inside a plastic bag. He gives these to Darla. “Fran sent that envelope of money, Jolie sent the champagne God only knows where she got it, the coloring books too. I found that necklace here, in America, it was cheaper than I expected.” (She cries, of course she does. She wraps her arms around his shoulders. She doesn’t ask what about Father and Maman. Cher leans into it.) *** It's Saturday before he sits down with his sister. She's made iced tea, put it in two skinny glasses that she sits between them in the sitting room. He has Mia on his lap, reading some story to her while she points at brightly colored pictures that follow. Darla sweeps her away, depositing her into her great grandfather’s lap before taking a seat next to her brother. “You haven’t even looked at what you missed yet, have you?” Cher slumps back, looking away from her. “I don’t really need to, Darla.” She reaches out, fingers twitching on his sleeve as she tugs his hand closer so she can set her own in it. He lets her, glances at her, tries not to smile. “Have you decided what you’re going to do when you finish school?” she asks, and any semblance of a smile drops from his face completely. She notices, adjusts the question, it’s no better in his mind but at least it’s something he can answer: “How was Tours?” “Same as always.” “Is Maman doing okay?” “... no, I don’t think so.” “... Jolie?” “I can’t tell. She seems happy. I don’t know.” “Francine?” “She and father fought a lot this time, more than usual,” he leans back. “She’s smarter than him. I don’t think he likes that.” Darla can’t hold back a laugh and covers her mouth after, embarrassed. A little shamed. (He knows why, her laughs aren’t very modest anymore. Aren’t pristine, ladylike little giggles. They’re loud, she snorts now. He thinks it’s his fault, because he’s here she laughs just fine when she’s with Jere, when she doesn’t seem to care he’s watching.) “What does she think of everything going on? Have you told her anything you’ve told me?” Cher shrugs. “No, not as much. I think she can tell something’s up, though. I mean, clearly she knows I’m talking to you. I’m sure everyone does, at this point. I haven’t been exactly subtle, but Father--” “Tell me more about Christmas,” she says, cutting him off. When he looks over she has one of those forced smiles on again, pretty and polite, and he wants to sink into the earth when he sees it. It gets easier the more they talk about it, she even laughs a few times at the way Jolie dragged him out at night, hearing he was going out more. He tells her about his classes, his new ones, what he likes and what he doesn’t. He makes her tell him about her Christmas, after he left, the whole motley crew showing up to fill the house, leaving little room for business. “You’re a Scrooge,” she says when he points this out. “I’m practical.” “That’s what a Scrooge would say, Cherie.” “I haven’t been haunted yet.” “Give it time,” she teases, leaning in to pinch his cheek before Norelle calls her away. One couple had found the place, shivering with snow in their hair and grateful for the warmth of a fire. “The fuck do they think they’re trying to do?” Reggie asks Cher when he comes to pick Mia back up. Cher shrugs. “Sounds like they’re sightseeing.” “It’s fucking winter.” “They want to see the natural beauty, not the tourist traps.” “Fucking stupid of them.” Cher laughs, the only sign of his agreement before he leaves the old man to sleep again. *** Sunday evening, just before dinner, Darla sweeps into Cher’s room with her hands on her hips. “You have class tomorrow, don’t you?” He sets down his book, shrugs. “I sent in the homework when I had the free time. I don’t need to be back for anything urgent before one.” “Cher…” “What if I stayed here? What if I didn’t go back?” (And, it always comes down to this. He always backs up the second he sees the look on her face, the worry, the is this my fault the you don’t have to follow my example the we’re still family no matter what he says. It happens again:) “I’m joking,” he lies, and goes back to his book. He only looks up when he feels the mattress shift, sees Darla sitting next to him, leaning over his shoulder. “What’s this one for?” “Accounting, I told you I’d look over it when I had the time.” But, he closes the book and sets it aside when she leans her head on his shoulder. They stay like that until Andrew peeks his head in, rolls his eyes and says, “Hey, dinner’s almost ready and I still need help with this Calc stuff so…” *** What if I stayed here? What if I didn’t go back? He’d be miserable, he thinks. This was his sister’s life, what she chose to do with herself, and he knows very well he’d be unhappy doing this all the time. They’re different, the two of them. She likes to bake and garden and is excited over how rough her hands have gotten over the years, how much less they hurt the more she uses them. He likes the softness of his hands, likes staying inside cool rooms and playing or reading. He doesn’t know how he would survive with no money and a job that barely paid minimum wage, no matter how much he loved the McCormicks. No matter how much he loved his weekends and holidays here. Monday morning, when she’s hugging him goodbye, she says what she always does. “What if you tried something else? What if you found something else you loved to do?” He never tells her that’s impossible he really wants to believe it’s true.

jack is bad at food HC
so i have a headcanon that jack is actually REALLY BAD at nutrition
not so much ‘he eats mcdonalds five meals a day and chocolate for breakfast’ or whatever
but like
that boy subsists on all that nasty Athlete shit -- protein powder, protein bars, gatorade, Hungry-Man Frozen Meals, etc. -- because he cares about fueling the hockey machine
...not so much long-term care
like jack’s only in his twenties, and he’s been playing sports his entire life
his parents are busy and rich so you know they eat out Constantly so he never really had like a stable, family meal routine or even was forced to choke down nasty steamed broccoli for His Own Good
and i just imagine awkward, fat little jack learning when he can skip meals to lose that extra weight or getting too focused on his anxiety to eat anything but a protein shake 
and coming to samwell with these horrific ideas about nutrition
like, calorie counting, cutting out weird food groups for periods of time, binging on junk when his anxiety’s bad and then hating himself for it
(does it sound like im projecting? i’m projecting. moving on)
and then bittle shows up at the Haus and i bet jack REALLY hated the pies for a long time
because they’re DELICIOUS and when you’re a big ass athlete you can actually eat an entire one in one sitting without throwing up
but also because bittle is TINY. no stretch marks, like Zero body fat, and Obsessed with food
(if you grew up fat, you know the shame that comes with ever talking about food or liking food -- people tell you you’re obsessed and you wouldn’t be fat if you weren’t, meanwhile all the skinny, good looking kids are allowed to eat entire pizzas at lunch or Never Shut Up about nutella because they lucked out in the genetics lottery)
but something else that bittle brings to the haus? real food
like, pies are his Thing, but we see from bitty’s tweets that he cooks dinner for his boys Constantly
now, Southern Cooking is notoriously unhealthy, but these meals of bittle’s are Good -- lots of fish and chicken, lots of (buttery) vegetable dishes, Homemade With Love, no preservatives, etc. 
...and jack CAN’T count these calories, because there’s no wrapper to look at. bittle doesn’t use recipes, he just Feels It. jack can estimate, but that’s about it. 
and he can’t say no, because why would you choose a sawdust-bar or dining hall boiled eggs over Whatever Amazing Garlic Honey Chicken Skewers bitty’s pulling out of the oven???
and they start having real, family meals.
for once, jack doesn’t feel pressured in choosing what he eats, because No One can resist Bittle’s Cooking and they’re all sitting around that crappy little table, eating the same things, too busy talking to comment on each other’s plates
holster puts on several pounds bitty’s first semester and it’s not even a joke?? he’s just like ‘fuck bits, gotta get new pants, can’t quit that pie love affair’ and there’s no judgement?
i don’t think Bitty is a Nutritional Expert by any means, but the kids cooks SO MUCH and grew up in a household where Food = Love, and he didn’t have the same weight insecurities as jack (except maybe on the opposite spectrum -- always too small, never muscular enough)
so he knows that you need This Many Calories after working out and he knows you Need More Protein as an athlete (thanks, jack) but he also knows that vegetables taste better sauteed than boiled, knows that Good Things In Moderation will not kill you, knows that nothing heals someone’s soul like their favorite food
and, look, i love bob and alicia, but they’re not perfect. he’s a professional, VERY SUCCESSFUL athlete, and she’s a Goddamn Model
you can bet your ass they Unintentionally made jack feel bad about food when he was younger
(projecting again, i know)
so i just imagine them visiting jack in providence, years down the line
and one of them makes a very off-handed, casual remark about ‘oh, jack, honey, are you sure you should have a second slice of pie before your game tomorrow?’
and, like, without hesitation Bitty is suddenly there (where did he come from? wasn’t he in the bathroom??) shoving seconds into everyone’s hands like ‘this pie has nothing but my love in it are you denying my love pie’ and That’s That
and jack doesn’t even care about whatever his parents were saying, because Damn Straight is going to eat his boyfriend’s Love Pie, it’s 100% organic, fair trade Love, you don’t turn that kind of happiness down
i have a lot of messy feelings about Bitty expressing Love through Food
and i have a lot of feelings about fat kid JZ
and mostly i just want him to Have A Healthy Relationship With Food (and his boyfriend the end)

not much of an introduction rn bc i’m a lil tired and sick so i’ma try and keep this relatively short !! Cyrus is a well-beloved OC of mine I’ve had for about three years , but this is the first time I’m writing him as a child of Theodora since his creation. So yeah , here we go !
HISTORY
On the Isle, Cyrus was a much different child than the man he is today ; believe it or not , he used to be sweet , quiet , polite , etc. - but growing up on the Isle hardens you , and unfortunately Cyrus wasn’t spared that fate.
Bullied as a kid for the reasoning he just didn’t like to be bad like most of the other kids , he’d prefer to keep to himself and draw everything in sight - until that bullied escalated , and Cyrus would eventually grow tired of it , even going as far as physically defending himself when receiving the same.
And he always was a natural pickpocket ; maybe it wasn’t the toughest means of proving himself , but sticky fingers were formed in an effort to ‘ fit in ’ - and also , he had a fear of growing poor due to the already unsavory conditions of the Isle.
So... yeah. Baby never had many friends.
When he was a teenager , he fell hard for his first boyfriend - but it was evident Cyrus was only being used and was never truly cared for , given his boyfriend would only talk to him if he brought him something shiny. And then when Cyrus would turn up empty-handed , it would be like he never existed. 
So when the VKs came over from the Isle... it really , really angered Cyrus when his boyfriend immediately ghosted him to try and romance the pretty rich royals of Auradon.
Their relationship was never healthy - but besides his siblings, his boyfriend was the only person in his life that never left him. Until now. And here he was alone, again.
So this would lead a lonely boy to dive deep into the magic he’d always been talented with on the Isle , that nobody else knew how much potential he had save for his family. He’d study , now focusing on solely becoming powerful in magic to the point he’d even call himself magic to feel better about himself.
And six months later , with research and practice and building up a reputation for himself as an underground magic prodigy , he only wanted two things: power , and money , to laugh in the face of those that had only kicked him down in his past. Even though , he knew he was only lying to himself , and the only thing he’d ever want in his life was love.
PERSONALITY & FACTS
Basics - Cyrus is trans male, panromantic pansexual w/ a slight lean towards men, diagnosed bipolar ( like me so I promise u I know what I’m talkin about ) and again - one of my favorite OCs to write. Ever. Like normally he’s the very first OC I bring into groups.
So in a nutshell !! Cyrus is a major facade - on the outside , he acts like an arrogant party boy only concerned with getting money and using magic for the prior reason. He does magic “favors” for people and essentially is sort of a magic dealer in that sense - enchanted objects, spells, you name it? He’ll sell you it.
But this is to hide the fact that he is actually scared , lonely , and hurt. He’s too afraid to admit that to anyone since he does NOT want to be used and hurt again. He has a huge heart - but he doesn’t want anyone to know that. It’s easier to act like you don’t have feelings ; or at least , that’s what he thinks.
In reality , he just wants someone to give him attention , love , and care. He wants to be special to someone and valued - to be told he matters.
But that doesn’t mean Cyrus isn’t actually talented in his act - aside from being an INCREDIBLE witch , he’s also extremely charismatic and can talk his way out of almost any situation. It’s what makes him such a good thief , too , since he can easily distract.
By his mouth. Because he never shuts the fuck up.
He has a habit of drinking and partying as also to fit in this mask , to try and numb himself to fill that annoying fucking hole he feels in his chest. And the euphoria of it all is all temporary - in this sense , it’s also why he practices more... costy forms of magic.
He attends parties and social gatherings a lot , yes , but every time he knows he’d rather be home alone.
So I also mentioned he IS siding with the villains - ...because one of them is paying him. This is unknown to nobody except the people on the side of the villains , and in reality , Cyrus is only working for them because of the money and also because of revenge on his ex for abandoning him like he was nothing. But he needs to be pulled back to reality and realize that it’s not worth it.

(FYI - one of those grains is oats, so if you can't tolerate gluten free oats, these cookies aren't the right choice for you). 
I only enjoy a little of each cookie at a time because I can't tolerate gluten free oats in large amounts...but even small bites made it clear how good every flavor was! All the cookies are a lil' crumbly, a lil' chewy and very addictive. My hands-down favorite flavor was Double Chocolate because...well...chocolate! And I'm a big fan of the big chocolate chunks used in that flavor and my second favorite, regular Chocolate Chip. The biggest surprise, though, was the Gingerful flavor. Well-spiced, extra crumbly and a big two thumbs up from me.

According to nutritional research, published in Nutrients, studies show that vitamin D deficiency is correlated with an eight to 14 percent increase in depression. That may help explain why women who eat a diet high in calcium are less likely to be depressed than those who don’t, according to a study, published in Nutrition Research and Practices. Calcium is also essential for regulating metabolism, which affects our energy levels throughout the day. Plain nonfat Greek yogurt—a PowerFuel that’s high in protein and low in calories—gives you 250 milligrams of calcium in a one eight-ounce serving, says the USDA.

They theorize that magnesium helps to regulate certain systems within the brain that control stress response. According to the USDA, this contains 120 milligrams of magnesium, about 30 percent of your daily requirement (depending on your age range). Beans of all kinds are also great for a high fiber diet, so you feel full for hours after eating them.
