Ah, homoerotic enemies to lovers, my beloved 🫶🏻 Finally writing this paired with the fact that someone asked for Bloodysuit headcanons works very well, I'm sure. Uh! I added a bit more than the original prompt because I have this idea that I need to speak on❗️Also, this means I'm finally chipping away at all this piled up content! Per the last fic with red and blu mercs, I'm just going to call them Sniper and Spy, they are red and blu respectively.

Sniper, even though he would never admit it, likes to recall the first time he met Spy, even if it was the start of his most infuriating rivalry.

The sun was beating down on everyone, making it unbearably hot. Sniper leaned back on his chair, stretching out slightly before quickly getting back into position, scoping the battlefield.

He stopped when his sights landed on Spy, hidden in the shade. Now maybe Sniper should have taken the shot right then and there, killing the man before he even became a problem, after all, that was his job, but he found himself unable to, only managing to stare him down. He was fussing with his clothes silently, probably despising the heat, not being used to the hot days, Sniper found himself enamored by watching Spy, wondering why he seemed so out of place. A weird mix of annoyance and intrigue washed over Sniper, and he found himself wanting to know everything he could about the strange man. He wanted to be close to him for reasons he's still not sure of. He knew the feelings rising inside him were a problem. He shook the memories of the term "love at first sight" from his head. That couldn't be right. He looked like such a pompous bastard, so arrogant, so, oh. He knew know why he was so fascinated, Spy pissed him off. That was all. That had to be it because that was a lot easier than Sniper having to admit he fell hard for a man he didn't even know. The mix of emotions in Sniper's head made him confused and rather irritated. So he did what anyone would do in order to cope with strange new emotions. He took a shot, sending a bullet drilling straight through his skull. Direct hit. He found his feelings muddled by his newfound pride in how clean his kill had been. He let out a soft chuckle and went back to work.

A little under ten minutes had passed before Sniper was distracted by a soft creak behind him. His hand slowly reached for his machete, but he was too slow. A knife to his back made him drop to the floor. He looked up as his vision faded to see the smirking face of Spy looking down at him. When he found himself back at the respawn, he knew his feelings had to be hate, and that this was the beginning of a battle. A battle he was determined to win.

That was about six months ago, and the fight between the two had only gotten more intense. Both sides were prideful and ready to best the other until one day, the outcome was different. Sniper found himself watching Spy through his scope, something that had become a routine lately. He'd find himself staring for a moment too long before taking the shot, admiring the man before him. He had tried to convince himself it was all out for trying to take the perfect shot, to get the angles just right, but deep down, he knew why he was really staring. He knew he had stared a second too long when Spy glanced around quickly, and a smirk quickly sprouted on his face as his eyes locked on to where Sniper was hiding. 

That look, so smug, reading him instantly and wordlessly. Sniper had been caught. Spy now knew Sniper was too distracted by staring at him to take the shot. That set something off in Sniper, breaking his concentration for just a second, his line of sight being broken just for one moment as he pushed back from his scope, he found himself being caught off gaurd, an emotion that came very rarely for him, he also found himself embarrassed. He figured Spy would find a way to use this against him, even if Sniper managed to blow his head clean off, speaking of that. Sniper's attention was regained quickly as he scrambled to realign his sights only to find… nothing. Of course, what else could he really expect? That Spy would stay there for even a second longer and just let himself be killed? He could only sigh, knowing Spy would be around soon enough. He held his hand over his machete, not moving away from his spot, hoping to somehow surprised Spy when he entered the room. And as if on que, he heard a slight creak from behind him made him fully grab his machete, getting up quickly to defend himself, but Spy only stood there, lit cigarette in, looking as pretentious as ever. It was laughable that even amidst the battle, he still seemed so keen on keeping up his appearance of class and elegance. Sniper could only bring himself to stare at him. Confused.

"You seem to have a staring problem, Bushman." Spy teased, his smirk from before creeping back. "I see now your insistence on seeking me out has been more for personal reasons than a true desire for composition." Sniper seethed quietly, infuriated that Spy seemed to have so much control over the situation, that he was so smug, that he had the upper hand. Then it clicked. Sniper walked closer to Spy, neither Sniper nor Spy's confidence wavering in the slighted. Sniper reached a hand out, grabbing Spy by the collar, no doubt ruffling it,

"So what if it is for me? I highly doubt you don't like the attention." And in that momen, Spy's facade cracked, as his looked changed in a way Sniper still can't decode. But it didn't matter. In Sniper's mind, the falter was enough to signify that he had won. He could only bring himself to laugh, now having to debate on killing Spy or watching how things would play out from here. Maybe he'd do both. Maybe he'd do neither. It's a fine line between love and hate, but Sniper had the rest of the match to walk it.

i wrote alec super tall for a prompt for @saeths and i also wrote a giant megladon!magnus mer for them but i like keeping malec at least as tall as how they come across.

i know that in the books alec is shorter than magnus but personally, i just adore that alec is a bit taller and scowly and softens and submits so beautifully to magnus. all of that power and strength and training and he just melts for magnus and my brain goes a;ksjbaksdbjf;abf.

"I thought you said you had something impressive to show us?" Ragnor mocks as he steps in and plops in his chair, he stares over at where Alexander is pretending to nap and rolls his eyes.

Magnus stares at Ragnor and wonders just what is going on.

Alexander is curled up the size of a housecat on the windowseat and Magnus knows that he looks small, but he's still a dragon.

"Are you experimenting with reptiles again?" Ragnor asks, absently summoning himself a cuppa, "I thought you gave that up when you lost Baby to Camille?"

Magnus can feel the glow of jealous, accusatory eyes on his back and he blinks rapidly at Ragnor and wonders if he can get away with just summoning a scone into the other warlocks mouth. Anything to get him to stop talking.

"Ba-" he starts and there is a subtle hiss that only he seems to hear and he clears his throat. "The snake was merely an accessory, Ragnor. A security feature, hardly anything more than a sometimes useful pet." Magnus leaves out how cute the snake was, he doesn't think it would go well for him.

That seems to placate Alexander but Ragnor is sending him a confused, dubious look.

"Well then, what's with the lizard on your windowseat, hmm?"

"He's not a lizard." Magnus bites through gritted teeth because he can feel the force of Alexander's stare growing colder. "Ragnor, when was the last time you slept?"

"Oh a few days ago or so. Research and all that, you know how that is." Ragnor does look a bit peckish and the hollows under his eyes are a dark green rather than the normal shade.

"Ragnor-" Magnus starts and then he sees movement and he shifts, lunging forward to grab Alexander's nape with his maw. He instinctively growls and shakes and to his delighted surprise, Alexander goes limp.

Alec glares at the tired old warlock who interrupted his nap and then sighs, content as Magnus holds him close.

It's exactly as he planned and he smirks, smug from his position of being held and rocked by Magnus' mouth.

Alec smirks and, with a flick of his tongue, freezes the old warlock's tea.

The man splutters and gives them both an accusatory stare before his skin pales to a soft, sage green with fear as their eyes meet.

"Ducky, please tell me you don't have a dragon in your mouth."

Alec smirks and gives the lightest of trills and the warlock shivers, hands up in surrender.

Magnus chuffs around where he's holding him and Alec rolls his eyes, finally taking the force of his gaze away.

It's hardly his fault if even as the size of say, a lizard, Alec is too powerful for warlocks to gaze upon without fear.

OKOKOHHHHHHOKOK BUCKLE IN. YOU’RE GONNA GET THE FULL DESIGN PROCESS

I struggled the most with Soul ngl. I couldn’t really think of anything I could add that would differentiate him from the fanon standard. I’m a lil upset I couldn’t think of something more original, but nonetheless he turned out quite lovely !!!

I started with the color picking. I was very insistent on making everyone’s colors proportional to eachother. The main colors should have (about) the same saturation/brightness, contrasting colors that are the exact opposite hue of the main color, respective black/grey/white values (soul’s ‘grey’ color is more teal bc color theory but yea), shit like that i guess. The final palette is on the right, it’s what I use today.

Soul never got fully fleshed out concept sheets like the other two. I guess my brain just filled in the rest of the gaps without having to draw them. (I apologize for never finishing these btw. It’s been months man. I hope the blorbo doodles in the corner make up for it) The second image was done a lot later than the first btw. Idk if that matters but I’m bringing it up anyway.

His fit inspo came mostly from Pinterest. I just compiled a bunch of shit I think he’d wear. Plus a majestic cape because it makes him look plenty more epic.

OK MOVING ON. I decided that his main gimmick would be my take on his shaded side. The idea was to make it represent dissonance, and how it affects Soul. The shadow is basically just this fuckin void. It has no physical form, and you can just stick your hand in there if you’d like (he sometimes stores the trident there). However I wouldn’t recommend it. The feeling is indescribable, but very uncomfortable. The void has a life of it’s own in a way. It does not stay confined within the Soul’s physical form (or in my case, his lineart). When conflict is at a high, like, tridential regicide level high, the void will get very close to fully overtaking him. It only fully disappears once true concord is reached, and starts reforming when the next cycle starts.

Also, the mask !!!!! Throughout cacophony, Soul is having a huge fucking identity crisis and shit. He doesn’t really have a physical organ like the other two. He doesn’t know why he’s here, or what he did to deserve this, or why nothing he’s trying works, and just. What is he if he’s failing at his main purpose???? I think because of this, he doesn’t like showing his face around the other two. He needs to assert is power, and thinks that showing his face will make him come of softer and less of someone to obey, if that makes sense. He only really takes it off when he’s alone in his room or pocket dimension (still trying to decide if they have a mock ‘apartment’, or ever did at one point). But once he has the character arc in Two Wuv, it permanently comes off !!! Wahoo!!!!!!! If only the next cycle weren’t to start, resetting his newfound self image to its previous state !!!!!!!!!!

This image was very helpful for designing the tine shapes!! Guess which one is Soul’s !!!!!! (Spoiler alert, im pretty sure its either the 2nd or 6th ones in the 2nd row. However i genuinely dont remember. This may not even be the right image)

Soul also has a strange tie with eyes. If the halves have pissed him off to the point of no return, he does this fuckin analog horror stare that freaks the shit out of them (although heart cant see he remembers it very well. Plus, he just k n o w s that extra eye is there). I haven’t really played around with this, but I like the idea of a freakishly absurd amount of eyes hidden within the shadow. I should maybe like. Draw that sometime.

Also, expect a Soil patch update in the future!! I’d like to make his fangs more deranged, and maybe add an earth pattern to the cape. Right now, he has no symbols on him that represent him in the astronomy metaphor.

The Rise and Fall of an Oc: Frost (but i dont take it very serious)

Okay lets start with why I'm doing this. My silly mutual @deimosbreakfrost asked for lore and lore he will get. Also coming back at the very end to add that im sorry for how messy it is + for info being left out :( Who is Frost? Frost is an oc in the total drama group (ocs are split into fandom groups). Which means like every other member of this group this is not the world he comes from. Frost is a member of the ancient dragon clan which I will rather not say the origin world of. He is a green and blue ice dragon, at least his genetic are correct? After the clan split apart Frost makes the choice to wear armor and to use the excuse that its a cosplay to blend in. He vanishes for several real world years. Till the total drama oc group formed (this is when I actually got to see him). Start of the Total Drama Oc Group, Frost's First Appearance Frost appears on time! Being spotted even in the oldest designs of the members of this group. From the start Frost wears his armor, often keeping quiet to stay under the radar, which does work for a good amount of time. Then "Toxin" appears. By this time Frost does talk a bit more which will lead to his downfall within the group. Issues start up when Toxin appears, followed by "Shade". These two are also members of the ancient dragon clan! So fights start. Things stay this way till the divide between recode related characters and og related characters happens. Frost is replaced by Night/Ocean(?). What do I call this section?? (my irl era of confusion) umm so, i have bring up Pink Scales and this section will not be as nice looking as the others because i dont want to do this section. So, before the whole total drama group (this is all learned while the total drama group is active btw) Pink Scales, another dragon clan member, had a crush on Frost. this is one of the reasons that leads to Pink Scales making an appearance as a major villain of the group. alright i hate this section a lot to sum it up Pink Scales kills another dragon named Ripper which then leads Frost really liking Ripper (as in the total drama character).

(dont bring up that he also likes chase ive got no explanation for it, also he does end up on good terms with either of these two) What happens to Frost? After a short full disappearance, Frost does return, as a void member (void members are ocs who have stronger real world influence). His start within the void isnt very easy due to a dragon clan member already being there. Frost and Heartbreak do not have a good friendship. But things pass, Frost gets to influence things. Frost and his downfall to Obsession, an odd ending With Frost being a void member, he sees everything in the real world, which leads to his obsession with the TSI character Zeck (i refuse to type his long ass name). This goes on for like.. a few weeks? Just a really good amount of real world time. Then Frost gets put in a literal cage! Also maybe it would be good to keep in mind that a cage will not hold a giant ice dragon guy for long! Which leads us to the end, Frost is missing, the cage is broken, I do not know when he will strike again. Special section on how I feel about this oc + how I feel about how much I left out!!! Ironically I been working on a post dedicated to my Nori HCs! but am going to throw a “few” in here.

Nori Doorman! HCs 🗝️

(watch all of this get absolutely wrecked when we fully get to see her character alongside others.)

(Btw some of my HC are connected to my personal speculations)

• I honestly can’t see this woman being straight. So fuck it. She is pansexual now.

• I was thinking of HC her as neurodivergent! But not sure rn.

• Nori was named that way by herself because after she found out about sushi’s existence,and after finding out the algae used in sushi is called “Nori”, she later named herself after that bc she thought the word sounded cute.

• If robots could eat human food,she would definitely try all kinds of sushi or just the algae for curiosity.

• We canonically don’t know if Nori was a WD that had parents or was a WD who gained sentience. But personally I like to think she was one of the many WDs who gained sentience.

• She actually gained sentience when she was slightly younger and moments after the extinction of humanity.

• She was around her early 30s when she passed away.

• She met Khan before the WDF existed or when Khan wasn’t even considered a leader.

• They met while both found themselves in a pickle after trying to scavenge scraps for personal projects.

• I do think if they were WDs who attended high-school,they would have met after being paired for a school project.

• If Nori ever went to high school she definitely strikes me as a “shy nerdy geeky girl but gets super exited when talking about her passions”.

•Nori and Khan were roughly the same age when they started dating but Khan started to age physically more faster bc of overwork and stress after becoming the colony’s leader.

• Honestly Khan and Nori’s relationship strikes me as:

“Big menacing dog who is actually a goofball” and “Tiny black kitten who looks adorable but will commit war crimes if provoked”

• Honestly I can only see Nori’s and Khan’s relationship being so fucking wholesome,they were lovebirds your honor. Ofc before shit hit the fan.

• She used to spend time with the WDF and join in their card games!

• Nori was incredibly good at card/board games. She always somehow won when playing card games with the WDF. The WDF still let her join bc it was fun. (And bc she was their leader’s wife)

•The way of how imagine Nori’s voice is sort of a smooth and soft voice. Slightly monotone and a bit high pitch. Like her voice immediately gives “shy soft woman who also happens to be a mother” vibes.

Her voice does shift a bit when she gets really excited! (Or any strong emotion) Completely loosing her monotony and smoothness a bit.

The best voice claim I can think for rn her is actually Candace from Genshin Impact, just make her voice a bit high pitched.

Also fun fact! Candaces english VA (Shara Kirby) is the same VA of Serial Designation-J!

Another Voice claim i can come up is Andrea Storm Kaden!

She is a singer who performed in a lot of fan songs of video-games. (tattletail,FNAF,BATIM, Overwatch,etc. She did a lot of collabs with JT Music and I think a few with TryHardNinja.)

• She is actually shorter than the average WDs,but just by a few inches. She isn’t an ant like Uzi.

• Her hair is much more longer and a few shades lighter than Uzi’s.

• Her eyes are also much saturated compared to her daughter’s eyes color.

•She also has cute lil chompers! Tho they dont look the same as the DDs. They are smaller and shorter,Uzi inherited that trait from her.

• Uzi’s necklace actually belonged to Nori.

• When Nori got her hands on this necklace and started wearing it,she never took it off.

• She definitely strikes me as someone who is into cottage-gore.

• She is a goth mom,thats it. Like and old-school goth mom. (Like she is more into the “feminine” part of goth,if I can explain myself)

• She constantly wore black dresses. The one she wore the most was a simple off shoulder black dress with short sleeves and frills on it. It was made from a very thin and light material. And it had a purple flower pattern on it.

• She wore this dress while wearing black combat boots (Like most WDs) and her necklace.

• She had a pair of black combat boots but this time her boots lace was a purple color.

• She also had a WDs jacket! And occasionally wore it. It was purple.

• One of her many hobbies was painting. She didn’t do it all the time,just occasionally. Khan still kept some of them hidden away.

• She was definitely one of those girls who would see true crime content.

• She would sometimes put screamo music when cleaning.

•She definitely listened to grunge,goth,metal music

•She isn’t much of a singer but she can hum pretty well!

•She hums when doing chores or when comforting Uzi.

•Uzi’s and Nori’s love language would definitely be touch. I can see her humming as she caresses Uzi’s head,as Uzi lays it on her mother’s lap. She did this whenever her kid had a rough time.

•Nori was the only person who could calm Uzi down whenever she went “feral”.

•Uzi would probably be more close and vulnerable with Nori.

• Nori is probably one of the most softest/chillest person. But make her really pissed and honey you are dead. (May or may not be literal)

• Whenever she is just angry but not necessarily pissed she is more a cold,piercing kind of anger. The kind to stare into your soul and makes you question all your life choices.

Note: Btw I theorized she was related to the AS and actually had it since EP2! So have some of that!

• She was covered in scars,bumps and dents,but she mostly covered them up with her clothes or the AS did the job healing the scars. Or she covered them up by literally painting over herself.

As to why she had these scars? Well lets say she got herself into questionable and dangerous situations.

• She would replace a lot of the broken mirrors that she would break with her AS in her house,in secret.

• She would occasionally use her AS when doing chores.

• Sometimes she would arrive at her home,alone or when Khan was sleeping. Wearing long forearmed-length black gloves, laced up with purple/white lace.

• She would carry a dark colored bag (that looked like those tote bags but is was bigger and the material was much more thicker) that leaked oil at the bottom.

• Her dress would have dry or fresh stains. She also reeked of oil.

• She started out as frenemies with Yeva,but they later became besties.

• The 2 would hang out a lot alone.

• Nori constantly visited Yeva at her house,but she never invited Yeva to her house. Since Nori was always sort of messy, and she was self conscious about that in the past.

• They both would probably talk all kinds of things.

• She would definitely teach Yeva 1 or 2 things about her AS powers,since Nori has more experience with her AS abilities than Yeva.

• Nori would sometimes speak russian to Yeva. Meanwhile Yeva would speak English to Nori. Just for the funsies.

• Nori actually met Baby Doll at some point! She even held her.

• I always thought of Nori as a more artistic oriented woman but EP3 seems to make me think of her more of the scientific side.

• So she is a bit of both but her artistic side is showed more often than her scientific side.

•Nori personally customized her own necklace and helped Yeva with it when it came to her bracelet.

so im pretty excited abt ur abo kp fic which is new to me bc i normally dont care abt abo? this isnt shade or bullshit btw i hope i just wanted to ask how u conceptualize gender and sex in abo? tags on the notfic r 100% right btw more trans abo. im always put off by most abo for the idea that cis male omegas basically?? have a cloacae for an anus but also a dick? it feels too alien for a non paranormal genre. do u think anatomy ought to be addressed more or left to suspension of disbelief?

right straight off the bat we're putting this one behind a readmore, because i don't want to wig anyone out. a/b/o be weird.

essentially, the way i conceptualise a/b/o and how gender and sex work is:

male/female - usually identifiable at birth, with obviously some grey area in there for intersex people.

alpha/beta/omega - surfaces during puberty, at which point the body changes in whichever way the subgender inclines.

i usually write it that it's not really possible to tell how someone's subgender will present until it does, because i think the inherent tension between "this is how i was treated growing up" vs. "this is how people treat me now" gives the most room for social commentary, and character growth, which is one of my favourite parts of a/b/o. so everyone's body has the base potential to go any subgender way.

relatedly, one of my least favourite tropes in a/b/o is the trope where a character unexpectedly discovers they're an omega and they hate it and take drugs to make themselves a beta, and they wish they were a beta/alpha and as a reader i just have to sit there like, and the logical ending to this story ISN'T that they're trans????

in fact, this trope irritated me so much that i fully outlined and started writing an original fic where the main character gets the whoops! all omega! reveal and instead of hating it and hiding it, feels fulfilled and more comfortable in himself, because it enables him to put into words and be accepted for aspects of his gender identity that have existed his entire life.

ahem. omega biology. back on track.

male omegas are one of those fandom tropes that i just... choose not to look at too closely. science brain well and truly turned off. because of how the kinnporsche mpreg fic is structured (porsche not knowing he's pregnant, and not knowing he could become pregnant) -- we're probably looking at assbabies for that one, though i usually prefer to go the male omegas are intersex (and female alphas are, as well) route, just because it makes most sense to me. but -- this is fanfic. things only make sparing amounts of sense 20% of the time.

truthfully, i think the question of anatomy depends on the fic. i do think there is a level of suspension of disbelief that is needed to read a/b/o, but to me that's true of all sci-fi. a lot of genre studies essays on sci-fi talk about this idea of a novum, a point of divergence that makes the sci-fi story different from our world. it can be a thing, an idea, a hypothetical. for example, in mass effect, the novum is the mass drivers. in star trek it's the warp core. in the martian, it's leaving a man behind on mars. and with sci-fi, you're not meant to question the novum. it's the foundational part of the universe. sci-fi is the question, "what if [x] was different?"

so with a/b/o, the novum is, well, it's the a/b/o dynamics. "what if human reproductive biology was on crack?" the bits i'm interested in are the answers that spiral out from that question -- i'm not really focused all that much on the question itself.

but, like i said, it depends on the fic. if the fic's question is, "so, if we do have these a/b/o dynamics, how does the biology actually work?" then obviously it's a bit more relevant. but i've only seen one or two a/b/o fic that approach the matter like that.

currently working on: i constantly have about three to six canvasses rotating in clip studio that are always my ocs - usually sketch pages, but sometimes big stuff. rn i have a page for etienne, one for the warhawk, one for kaine, a larger kaine piece that i may or may not render later, and one surprise tool thatll help us later (it's kainegale, to no one's surprise). i'm ALSO finally finally working on the continuations of kainefic. first up is a collection of drabbles/oneshots/whatever you wanna call them to tie the larger parts of the main story together, and then i'm gonna work on a bit of a multichapter epilogue piece :) they have two separate weddings and kaine gets to go back to their home country (which has been conveniently missing its sovereign heir for quite some time)

Yeah i just finished it! I put it on because i had a headache and nothing better to do and i still have the headache but i am so happy to have watched it!

I LOVED this movie! I did get spoiled about the "maybe you can be a hero and still be wrong" BUT IT STILL HIT SO HARD!!! The messages and the themes were so good!!!! I kept screaming "THE THEMESSSSSSSSS" in a groupchat fksnfnfn

The color work was also amazing, i said on another post but i love how green = imperialism and red = the beast and the inevitable. And how the shade of green the king and queen wore was that arsenic green, not to mention how full of gold they and the palace was (that throne room reminded me of that one in edge of the world, color scheme and all)

A lot of moments gave me vibes of both the httyd movies and the books, which is so nice because they nail down some of the themes that i really like on both of them!

Tbh my favorite line besides the heroes thing is something exclusive to the portuguese dub (i watched it dubbed because again, headache. Which btw, really good dub), when Maisie says "let it end" in the dub she says "put a final point on this!" which i REALLY liked because it neatly ties into how they shaped the conflict through the books! Yeah, end the phrase! End the cycle! Full stop!

I really liked Jacob and Maisie, Jacob for...obvious reasons 😳 fjsnfnfnrn, but also his personality and mannerisms are so fun! The same for Maisie, she's a joy to watch. Sarah i really enjoyed too, ever since i saw her design before i even saw the movie. She's so cool

I really liked Crow's character, and i have to admit that he did have a lot of death flags but Im glad he didn't die. His arc was really interesting, though i don't have the words to explain it rn

I got so surprised that this movie had blood (and blood transfusions, that's a surprise but its a pleasant one because yeah that's something you usually dont see but that probably happened). All the little details in the movie were really cool, like how they were stocking up the royal ship with lemons to avoid scurvy, or how Jacob positioned himself to land in the water at that beast attack at the beggining of the movie, and the orders to change the direction of the ship was really cool, it sounded very legit

The character designs were amazing, with just a few gripes that i have with it. The first one is with the lady that crow made a deal with (i also dont remember her name). Like, did they really need to go with that pretty antisemitic look? Yikes.

The second one is with some of the beasts, including Red. She's just too smooth. Of course that for an easier time swimming it makes sense for her to be smooth, she almost looks plastic sometimes. But that you usually see on aquatic mammals, and Red isnt a mammal, if you look at fishes and aquatic reptiles theyre not smooth usually, theyre more like that beast they killed in the first 20 minutes. That design was really cool.

I guess i kinda get more why people didn't like the light fury's design in the hidden world. But it worked there. Red's design is not bad, but again, way too smooth and tbh kinda bland. I saw some of the original designs with her having stripes and more spikes which i really liked. Her design works, but it could be better. They could have gone a little scarier with her i think. Could helo drill in the themes of misunderstanding and propaganda more.

I'll use toothless from the movies as an example because i think he's a good example and they kinda look similar. He still looks very intimidating, his design works as both cute and scary. Like, he genuinely scared me from watching the first movie for the first time for a good while, at least for three whole years, even when he looked more cute than scary. They could have pushed it a little more.

And i kinda have a similar issue with Blue and that yellow beast on the island. Theyre too smooth and feel out of place. Red has a bit of that too but Blue and that beast do feel like that a lot more. The movie is colorful, but Blue is almost neon, and it can work but it clashed too much and he felt way too cartoony in a direction that didn't match, its more caricature-esque than full on cartoon. He'd work amazingly on subnautica though. I loved the crab beast btw.

Theres some things that i think they could have explored more/gone more in depth but Im pretty happy with this final result, id like a little bit more of the end scene of Maisie and Jacob on their new life, Im not asking for much, maybe a minute or two more.

I liked how at the end they went "we won't disturb them. We should leave them alone", that is a part that gave me vibes from both the httyd movies and books, hell, the books even have the poisoned huge as fuck sea creature goes back to god knows where on the ocean to not be bothered by humans anymore. I know its not for everyone but it served it's message really well. And i think it dealt with it better than the hidden world. I love that movie and the decision, i just think that on the sea beast it worked even better, it was integranted in a different way with the message and i prefer that one

This movie captured a lot of what i want for one of my stories. It gave me quite a bit of food for thought on that story. Because it does also have a war between humans and sea creatures (although on mine theyre sentient humanoid beings) and one of the alternatives one of the characters have is "we should cut off contact". Its a story i really like, id love to apply what Ive seen in this movie on it when i get back into being interested in my own stories

So yeah, really great movie!

You were working at the lab today still waiting for that one patient after 20 minutes has passed.

“Hey Beth, should we call him?” I say over to my Co worker, I look at the door waiting seeing if he might come in also hearing for her response. “I guess so, it’s been like-what? 20 minutes?” She replied sighing and not looking up from her papers on people’s polysomnography results “okay.” I reach over to our work phone and wait for her to say his number “it’s-“ she got cut off from the door opening roughly. I look up and see and quite pretty man, his hair was messy he was wearing a black shirt that had some design on it, a brown jacket and dark jeans.

“Um-“ he looked at the door and he carefully closed it. “-sorry!” He said quickly, he looked at the ground and walked over to the counter and rested his arm on there. “Oh-no it’s fine I do that sometimes…heh” I say nervously and look at him. “Um-name please?”

“Oh yea..it’s Stu Miley.” He said tiredly.

‘poor guy, he actually really needs some sleep’ I thought

“Well your right on time” I say jokingly, referring to him being late. He chuckled and he sided smiled with his eyes closed he head facing down “uh huh” he sighed “well I’m going to be helping you with your polysomnography today, and my names y/n” he nodded his head raised his head looking in my eyes but jeez…he eyes were really pretty. It took me a second to realize “follow me to your room.” And get out behind the counter cubicle along with some paper work and being walking towards the room. I looked behind me to see him walking behind me with his hands in his pockets, looking around the place.  I stop in front of his room and lean and to turn on the light and walk in and jester him to mini bed and I sit down gathering my paperwork in order to take notes and ask questions to him. “ok so let’s start off,”

“How any hours do you normally get sleep?” I ask looking at him with my pen in my head waiting for his response. “Um…usually 4 hours, if I’m lucky then 6.” He says. “Oh ok..” I take some time to write it down and look back up at him. “Your doctor you said that you have nightmares a lot?” I ask in a soft voice.  He seems to shift a little bit slightly uncomfortable. he hums in response.

“I can tell your uncomfortable talking about that..but just one more question ok? Promise” I say truthfully, trying to get him to relax a little bit.

“How bad do they usually get, Is it to a certain point you can’t wake up Or, you can wake up, but you just can’t fall back asleep?” I ask him

“Oh..um where I can’t wake up” he says looking at me up and down quickly.

“Okay” and I wrote down his answer on my paper.

“Welp I kept my promise no more questions” I look up at him and smile and stand up and set down my clipboard.

*few minutes later*

I finished setting him up with the sticker monitors.

“Ok there! Now all you have to do is sleep” I walk back and turn off the lights, I start to walk to the window to close the shades, “there we go-“ I started to say before I could finish-

“You’ll wake me up if I start to have nightmares, Right?…”

I stop and look towards him. And breathe for a second “I promise-“

“It’s ok you can sleep.” I say comforting him along with a smile.

“Thanks Doc…”

OK!! so all throughout finals week i kept thinking about alceste because of The Pain and radiation therapy because of The Exam, so my brain combined them, voila alceste set in the radiology department (nicky as far as niche things go this is surely something)

Alceste is a type of Orfeo ed Euridice: you have the beloved who's not quite dead and the lover whose actions that bring about the story can only stem from their love. You have the somewhat present god who offers a bargain to the lover to bring back the beloved from the dead. And finally you have the clause of not telling the beloved about the bargain. ANYWAY. That's the 3 main elements.

So the Alceste set in the radiology department would primarily incorporate the Euripidean origins of the opera while retaining some ties to show the interpretation in the modern world. We keep the Euripidean """fantastical"""" world because like Orfeo, Alceste represents a fantasy: to bring someone from the dead. You've got Alceste and Admeto who are idk rad tech / medical physicist because they hold relative power in the radiology dept but they dont over matters of life and death. Admeto is dying etc etc except now the context is radiation induced (btw dyk they have this estimate for how long radiation professionals cut down their lives and its BS at this point but y'know. Stochastic effects) which presents something interesting to me because radiation induced means he brought it on himself, like the myth and the play, and also because treating it only means he'll survive and most likely die of it later, when he's older. So it's a terminal thing at least. So Alceste gets the news and its already all blurring into a picture where the foreground is still the hospital, probably Admeto is on a LINAC, but the backdrop is a combination of ancient greece and a hospital. It's dreamlike, because again, its a fantasy, either the audience's or Alceste's.

So the oracle proclaims the bargain etc etc no one will die for Admeto (both in a hospital setting and in Thessaly). She just goes on prepping the machine maybe while she makes the bargain in the forest. NOW HERES WHY I KNOW THIS WORKS AS A SETTING. As a rad tech she has to administer the dose, i.e. she gives the treatment to her husband while she herself is exposed to radiation i.e. she's trading her life for his. it's a long term commitment tho which she probably assumes but the shades tell her she's going to die right there and then she asks for time. insert acute radiation syndrome, maybe on the GI system (i'll explain later!!). Back in the hospital Admeto is feeling better (disclaimer unfortunately this doesnt happen irl the client will most likely feel nauseous after a treatment round) and yay theyre rejoicing but bam Alceste's feeling sick (in radiation sickness GI system level this is what we call the manifest illness stage. the latent stage for GI ARS can last a few hours to days) so the relief that turns into horror scene goes thru and Admeto leaves to bargain with the gods. or the doctors. Alceste is reaching the end of the manifest illness stage and this is followed by either recovery or death. She's being given transfusions supportive care etc all until the 3rd act. Admeto is outside the room because its ARS and thats a major safety breach. Theyre mourning outside with the kids and with Alceste inside and then bam she dies. cue the mourning again and Admeto goes mad, maybe tries to get into the room where her body is and then Apollo deux ex machina saves everyone Alceste recovers (you can recover from GI ARS with proper care) and the opera finishes. Theyre both permanently disabled btw, but theyre alive.

If you read until here you may have noticed this was just a major infodump on radiation safety and radiation induced effects. Dont play with radiation :)) even if its for an opera!

hi!!!! i come bearing gifts! heeeere is physicist. i changed some aspects about them like turning the overalls from olive to black because i really enjoy the black/red/white palettes. i also gave them those gloves (for their science experiments where they mix chemicals up so their hands dont explode? i truly know nothing about physics). im definitely gonna overhaul their design at some point because i think they need more flair so they fit in with the rest of the dr cast yk. im still working on a full portrait of them atm (color shading etc etc) which i sincerely hope u will enjoy

also! i wanted to throw in here: PLEASE listen to me and michael + when you die (both my mgmt) if you haven’t already bc those 2 songs have kokichi/physicist written all over them.

the front pocket was not originally part of the overalls btw! they wanted a larger place to store more of their things so they clumsily tried to sew a pocket into an item of clothing without knowing much about sewing or anything. they were really bummed when it turned out looking weird but eventually came to enjoy the personality it added to their fit.

the kokichi doodle at the bottom is him playing with their glasses! they are basically just the talks a lot + listens dynamic,, also i feel VERY weird about kokichi’s hair i swear i messed up somehow while drawing it but i can’t figure out what exactly it was. the little stick figures of physicist and oma were me on my last brain cell but i think that’s them for the entire fic in a nutshell. oma likes to go on villain monologues and physicist is done with his bullshit!

the big physicist on the left is them posing for a picture! they look awkward because i imagine them being kinda camera shy. i also imagine whoever took the picture just kinda snuck up on them and snapped.

ah yes yes and the fan game! i’m partway through the prologue and if you want i can send you a short demo of the draft i have so far? so far it’s taken a turn from the traditional dr games since i got rid of the movement mechanic,, so now it’s more of like a VN than anything! i don’t know HOW i’m going to draw all the CGs and sprite customization options (thank you to @/goldentime for the idea by the way i really appreciate it :D) and write all the code as well as do the ost and decal and all that other stuff but i will find a way! somehow. it’s been really fun though and i’m actually very proud of what i have so far!!

anyways. ty for writing sleep awake! it’s crazy to me that such a long and gorgeously written fic is up on the internet for FREE. it’s definitely better than most original fiction is, and dare i say, much much better than the actual v3. i love what you did with chapter 3, the trial felt soo natural i forgot several times that it wasn’t what was in the actual game! it’s obvious how much time and effort you put into research, planning, and writing, and it really shows! so thank you <333

the gloves r such a neat addition!!! the block colouring n black and red kind of reminds me of the persona 5 artstyle which is a huge compliment!!! i lov their hair... their lil glasses... the freckles.... so so cute. will be turning this version of mc over in my head Forever !

hehe the little kokichi interactions give me so much life. the one of him fiddling with their glasses is so immaculate and u have their vibe absolutely down pat, 'talks a lot' and 'listens' is simply just THEM!!! oh but it sometimes goes the other way around when mc starts rambling abt physics n ouma is jus. jus sitting there. absorbing it all. mc's little blush is adorable and i totally think kokichi would just fiddle with their glasses or clothes while talking. is he doing it on purpose?? who knows???

I HAVE LISTENED TO WHEN U DIE BEFORE (it was actually my first mgmt song!!!) and holy shit ur so right. my third eye has been so closed,, and urs has been so open. definitely feels like kokichi talking to the mc like, putting on this evil mean facade, wanting them to hate him so he can keep up with his mastermind shtick and keep them at arms length but sigh, they know him too well and the act isn't holding up. i listened to me and michael because i hadn't heard it before and yes yes YES i see the vision. the closeness of two people being affected by red flags or toxicity or just other people or outside factors.... god. thinking so so hard abt this now and they're both going on the sleep awake playlist!!!

I WOULD LOVE FOR U TO SEND ME WHAT U HAVE ALREADY FOR THE GAME WHAT!!! WHAT!!! holy shit. it turning out like a visual novel is probably ideal, right?? i dont know anything abt game development AT ALL so forgive me if i say something dumb but most fan games dont include all the complex mechanisms from actual danganronpa games and most tend to just either be youtube vids or click and point thingies or just. yeah. visual novels!! which is so good.

as for the cg's and stuff, i dont rly know :( i would offer to draw them myself if i was any good at art, basically all im good at is sprite edits but im trash at anatomy and stuff so i rly dont think i would be any help. i would suggest commissioning but thats probably way too expensive, and again, like. i would commission stuff myself but im so broke at the moment. i COULD always commission some stuff when my student finance comes in, because i'll have a bit extra this year as my accommodation is way less expensive. but we can cross that bridge when we come to it i think!!! whatever ends up happening will be more than fine by me!!! im literally so excited
