I know this is never going to happen but just ONCE in a romance novel I’d like it if the heroine who gets a surprise pregnancy (bcs they don’t have birth control or condoms for some reason) chooses to terminate instead of her controlling, super wealthy boyfriend’s big head demon baby (that she can’t tell him about) and like, fleeing the country to be a single mom in poverty and avoid whatever consequences will politically arise from her having said big head demon baby out of wedlock.
If you’re meant to be you can have another one after y’all get married, like why is this your first choice?????

oh my GOD I love your isekai warriors au.... I love that the isekai trope is becoming a lot more popular, especially in anime... please tell me more about it!!
shaking ur hand rn hello fellow isekai anime/other mediums fan :3c FIRST lemme go on my tangent about this genre and my main inspo because wow this got way too long lol
isekai is total comfort food for me haha it's my go to genre of manga/manwha/webcomic reading whenever i'm feeling down and while i generally feel the genre is getting bloated and somewhat stale in anime, i still enjoy it quite a bit. It's a cute idea with a lot of potential, i just wish less of the shows went for the wish fulfillment route of things since we have so many by now.
mine is very inspired by a lot of korean manwha style stories in which the protag gets trapped in a show/game/book/etc. and has to deal with it, specifically what if you became the villain of a story. A lot of them play off the trope of the one dimensional evil villainess and how an average person would have to deal with coming into the body of someone like that and dealing with consequences. That, or it's the tragic villain, someone's who's life is marred by tragedy usually of their own doing.
The most interesting ones are those that play on how character archetypes would actually work in the story. The cold bad boy is just a shitty abusive guy, the shy guy who follows the girl is kind of a stalker, and so on.
One of my bigger inspirations was a plotline that also stuck out to me: a teen girl who died too soon and got reincarnated as the mother of the protagonist. obviously she has no clue what to do, she's a kid who wants to go home! And the only way she thinks she can is by ensuring the story goes as planned (and this of course is doomed from the start, unbeknownst to her, the villain is a reincarnater too and has already made tremendous changes). She dies and the reader never knows if she gets to go home or not. It's kind of this rough around the edges gem of an idea that I love and obviously had to steal for myself.
note for anyone getting intrigued by my descriptions uh a lot of these stories tend to be pretty shallow in their exploration. this subgenre consists a lot more of wish fulfillment/revenge fantasies comparatively to like a deep dive of "oh my god i've fucked up the narrative". Not to say they don't have interesting ideas! many are super interesting. just like. temper your expectations if you're going in
originally the story was gonna be set in a canon arc but that felt boring so i decided to just make up a whole story for it
The story is meant to be a (loving) poke at old fanfiction, common tropes in the aforementioned subgenre of isekai, and just a general ""cliche"" Warriors series (in the human universe here, I figured it's call Battlers/Battle Cats or something stupid lmao). In this story, Frostblaze is born into [ONE OF THE FOUR FAKE CLANS I HAVENT FIGURED OUT NAMES YET IM SORRY]. She's the born to an unnamed mother who tragically died of illness when she was just a young baby and has no clue who her father is.
She's isolated from her peers due to her eyes which some believe are an omen of her unnaturality. This only worsens when she is apprenticed to their Clan leader and causes Honeypaw, the daughter of the Clan leader, to become enraged with jealousy. She is one of Frostpaw's worst tormentors in the early parts of the book and eventually, during a battle, tries to off Frostpaw herself....but is killed by Frostpaw's love interest, the dashing and handsome (if a bit stupid) Eaglepaw of [INSERT RIVAL CLAN HERE].
The two hit it off (Honeypaw is an after thought at this point) and work together to stop the eeevviilll leader of uuhh eviiiiilll clan. They win, live happily ever after, Frost is actually their Clan leader's daughter and Honeypaw is her half-sister and blah blah blah.
At least, they're supposed to. Honeypaw, out hunting, is hit by a truck at the same time a human is. Human wakes up as a cat about to be buried because everyone thinks Honeypaw is dead and freaks the fuck out.
A lot of the plot points are kind of just me working through my gripes of the subgenre lmao:
"the person who is reincarnated is more adept and cool and better than their character and everyone loves them" -> Honey is awkward, neurotic, and can come off as rude to those who don't know her. Even her coolest trait, her wrestling ability, is off-putting because oh my god why are you putting a cAT IN A SPIDER GUARD THEIR SPINES DON'T BEND LIKE THAT HONEY PUT HIM BACK TO NORMAL-
She reread the story before she died but, because she has no pen, no paper, and sadly of all, no thumbs, she's unable to write it down to keep remembering it when she gets sent to this world. It's awful and she desperately wishes she had thumbs back.
she stands on two legs, makes weird comments alluding to being a human, and just is a bit of a weirdo. Honeypaw was isolated for being mean, Honey is isolated for making everyone uncomfortable (unintentionally). However, her isolation allows her to slip under the radar and do some more investigating, as she's noticed that some of the details in the story aren't adding up...
The story is strange and the characters aren't as she remembers now that they're in the flesh. Of course, her main priority is to thwart Honeypaw's assassination attempts, the spirit being intent that the way to get her body back is if she dies again. It's only from a near death experience that they realize that that's not gonna work and have to work together to change the story so they don't die!
and, as many people have pieced together, they're not alone.

I was Reincarnated as a Villainess in an Otome Game, but the boys love me anyway - By Sou Inada (8.5/10)
Tumblr media
There are too many yanderes in this. I can't keep track of them all. I'm really glad I waited to read this. The first book is quite boring, because it sets up how perfect our reincarnated protagonist is. Her perfection is a plot point though. It's necessary. Her saintly attitude attracts crazy people who want to serve and adore her.
The pacing and plot in this aren't perfect, but the core of it is very creepy. I actually don't like the main plot. I love watching each new character fall in love with Mystia Aren. There are dozens of different flavors of affection to choose from.
Mystia reincarnated into a cheesy otome game. She's destined to become the villain, but she's actually a pretty nice person. She decides to lay low and break up with her fiance, so he can pursue his true love.
However, a bunch of things happen before the game begins. Her fiance doesn't break up with her. He's VERY interested in her, and everybody else is too.
Here is a helpful glossary of the main cast.
Tumblr media
Who is my favorite?
Please don't judge me...
It's the delusional but sweet teacher that believes Mystia is his destiny. He's unhinged of course, and Mystia was also ten when he fell in love with her...I... nevermind I'll stop talking now.
The endgame love interest is Raid. He's her fiance. He gets alot of pretty good development, and even though he's obsessed with Mystia he puts her needs first.
Tumblr media
They become true friends first as children as well, which makes their relationship feel less toxic. Mystia is drowning in toxic love. Her servants watch her sleep through her bedroom door. The chef is too jealous to let anyone else cook for her. Her maid has definitely killed people that are "in her way". When I say that I mean anyone that looks at her funny. Every man that manages to get close to her wants to marry her. Her servants know they will never be good enough, so they pledge eternal servitude instead. Mystia's parents are lovely, normal people. So, she doesn't notice anything wrong. Mystia also saves Raid's mother, who was supposed to die in the game, which drastically improves his life. Mystia doesn't love Raid, and she tries to push him towards the heroine. The people around Mystia know she doesn't love her fiance.
This leads to ALOT of misunderstandings.
Tumblr media
The servants of the house bully Raid constantly. Let me explain why all the crazy nutjobs are in one house. Mystia attracts someone, and then that someone becomes obsessed with her. Sounds funny right? It isn't. In this world their obsession isn't fun or cute. The gardener, for example, is the only gardener in her house. He scared off all the competition. He does the work of five men, so only he can have Mystia's praise. There's a quiet battle around Mystia at all times. Only the best and most obsessed can serve her. Anyone weak that develops a crush is either killed or chased off. Raid doesn't let his rivals bully him out of the fiance position. He believes he can earn Mystia's love with time and patience.
He doesn't know that she believes he's predestined to love someone else.
Tumblr media
Raid is still toxic as hell. He wants to isolate Mystia and cut off the competition. It's implied that Mystia's charm doesn't work on everyone. She's just a nice, smart noble lady. Naturally, she's popular. Only a certain percentage of the population goes nuts for her, but Raid has to fight his instincts very hard. The old protagonist, Alice, isn't even on his radar. He acts kind, but literally the only thing he cares about is Mystia. He's been fighting for her love for so long. He doesn't know what he'll do if he doesn't win.
Tumblr media
Eric is the second love interest we meet. He's a great example of the evil around Mystia. He's kind to Mystia, but utterly cruel to everyone else. He had confidence issues as a boy, and Mystia became his first friend. He's a noble man, so he believes he can steal her. He uses their old childhood promises to manipulate her. Sol (a butler) has to threaten Eric with a knife because he won't stop hounding Mystia in public.
Tumblr media
Robert Weiss is the only villain in the story so far, and he's a sympathetic one. When he met Mystia he assumed she was perfect. He wanted to be like her. He didn't really expect romantic love, but he wanted to be close to her. Why? Mystia is smarter than him, and his parents expect him to become a doctor. His mother beats him when he doesn't get a perfect score. Robert begins to idolize Mystia. He starts to stalk her, and he overhears a conversation. Eric pressures Mystia. He noticed that she spoke with Robert. Eric bluntly asks her if she likes Robert. Mystia gets confused. At this point she has only had about two conversations with Robert. She says she doesn't like or dislike him. They're not even in the same class.
She doesn't know him.
Robert spirals. He starts believing that Mystia has been bullying Alice, in order to look like a saint. The people who become obsessed with Mystia usually believe they are closer to her than they actually are. Robert also has a massive inferiority complex, and Mystia is ranked second overall in grades. He starts to believe that she seduced the teacher to get her grades, all on his own. Basically, the slightest hint of rejection from Mystia turned him into a toxic villain instead of a toxic servant.
Tumblr media
This is Jay Seek. He's my favorite. He's five years older than Mystia, and he becomes her home room teacher to be by her side. Is he a stalker? No! Of course not! He's her real fiance! She doesn't like the prince! She told him...kinda...and she came to him to learn how to ride a horse. He's known her since she was ten! He knows her so well! He knows that her little smiles and comments are actually declarations of love! She's just keeping their relationship under wraps for now, because of her age. As soon as she graduates she will surely leap into his arms.
She said she would....not in words but she accepted me even though I have a scary face and a less than illustrious background.
That means she loves me!?!?!
She's waiting for me!!
Just for me.
Right?!??!
Tumblr media
This is Claude. He's a minor character in the game. He's supposed to be in charge of giving mission information to Alice. He notices Mystia instead. Alice is now a side character who is loyal to Mystia by the way. Claude is mean, brash, and cruel. He knows Mystia is in an ignorant bubble. As a master informant he knows about the line of dead bodies behind Mystia. He knows her loving servants have been isolating her. He likes interesting things, so he doesn't save Mystia. She becomes too interesting, and he falls too. He's a very unpleasant guy, in front of Mystia. I'm pretty sure that she's going to realize all of her friends are evil because of him. She has to. The situation is unstable at this point in the story. There are too many jealous people close to Mystia in the school. There will be drama, and she will choose Raid, because he is the most sane.
Tumblr media
Yup.
Super sane.
So sane that he interrupts whenever Mystia tries to play with his kid brother. He can't stand it when she shows affection to anything or anyone, and he's the most sane.
Mystia thinks he's obsessed with the kid, because he snaps literally every time she mentions him.
Also, Mystia is oblivious about all the destruction going on behind her back.
I really don't know how this story is going to end, but it's quite dark outside of Mystia's safety bubble.
I hope it bursts.

hi!! i love your blog a lot, youre definitely one of my faves. i found this webtoon thats pretty new called "i'm a villainess but i became a mother", there's only 3 chapters right now but the ml is definitely already a yandere lol. i just wanted to share it! have a good day :)
Tumblr media
Haha, thank you! I'm glad you like my blog. I actually did see this one on r/maleyandere (were you the same person who posted there? If not, it's quite a coincidence). It's an isekai story (and I can hear Cherry writhing in the background from another villainess story). It is pretty short so far since it's only three chapters, but the last chapter really dove headfirst into that yandere territory.
The story starts out with Lourie who isekaied into a novel she read. While she was enjoying her rich life, she is suddenly engaged to Calix, the novel's male lead. Upon hearing this she realizes her fate of being cast aside in favor of the female lead (which is... such a horrible thing to do, who throws away someone like that so easily), getting jealous and committing crimes that lead to her death. Upon realization, she attempts to push Calix away. However because he's very charming and very in love with Lourie, the two end up falling in love and basically repeating what happens in the novel. At least until a month before the appearance of the female lead. Upon realization she starts to push away Calix and his gifts, until she goes out to see him in the rain where he's been waiting. Calix is worried about Lourie believing that he did something wrong and tries to push their wedding from two weeks to one week, however, because Lourie is still worried about the future, attempts to call it off. Surprisingly, Calix pulls her in believing that the crowned prince seduced her even calling their marriage "fate". Calix ends up drugging Lourie, even revealing that his kind facade was something he created specificially for her and that he manipulated her by pretending to act vulnerable. He claims that she will be his, no matter what.
It’s kind of interesting in this version that Lourie actually goes through with following the novel’s plot (although unintentional) and doesn’t go through anything that makes it so that she can stop her death. Most of the times the character has to undergo a giant plan to get them to not die, but not in this case. Still I do find it off that Lourie never tells Calix why she wants to break off the engagement anyways considering the two are so close. Even if she didn’t want to reveal that she was actually isekaied into a novel, she could have at least told Calix in a round about way about the female lead that’s coming in, rather than just be unreasonable and cut off the engagement for no reason. I suppose it doesn’t really matter in the end since Calix would have never let go of Lourie in the first place.
Calix as a yandere is very cunning. I’m not sure if this situation was a love at first sight thing or if it might be a generational thing (as in his parents might have traits of a yandere) but he seems obsessed with Lourie from the start. Not only does he modify his personality to fit something that Lourie likes but he also purposefully shows himself in vulnerable situations (such as being wounded or standing in the rain) to gain her sympathy. The way that Calix talks about Lourie is in a way that entraps her claims her as his own, with a lot of symbols of chains and thorns. He also was extremely jealous of the crowned prince and of course ended up drugging Lourie at the end of the latest chapter. It definitely screams of yandere and it’s only been three chapters!
But yeah, I do think Calix is one. The story itself seems to escalate really quickly, so I’m curious to see how the rest of the story plays out.

Just Love Me
What, an actual fanfic and not just tiny quotes? It's a mediocre offering but yes, an actual story.
Anyway, this fic is a direct sequel to Just Hold Me. You need to have read that story first to understand this one.
This fic includes the warnings: non-graphic mentions of sexual assault; mildly descriptive sex scene. This fic is an extremely solid M-rating in my mind.
Writer's honest opinion, I feel like I didn't wrap this up well enough and that it needs a third sequel... I only addressed one of the issues, and I'm not sure I addressed it well at all. But. This fic has been sitting "complete" for over two years now, I've no one to beta, and it's time to get it moving. If it's lousy y'all can be brutally honest, lol.
Okay, on to the angst...

Just Love Me
Drakken stood silently in the bedroom doorway, watching his wife. She lay on her back in their bed, blankets askew at her waist. Her hair was mussed all around her where she had tossed and turned, and her palms lay flat on her chest and abdomen where her dark gray t-shirt was also a bit twisted from her restlessness. She was wide-eyed and staring at the ceiling.
Drakken had been watching her for nearly thirty minutes. Her eyes had been closed when he came back to the room, though she hadn't been asleep. And it was clear she hadn't slept at all for the hour he had left before that, working quietly in the den in hopes that she might finally sleep.
He glanced at the clock on the nightstand. Only 2:46 p.m.
Shego never slept anymore. Not since... Since the incident.
Things had only gotten worse since the interrogations by Global Justice and the police, inquiring into Sangerson's death.
Drakken had been offended that neither organization seemed to put any weight on the attack against his wife that had led to her accidentally killing Sangerson in self-defense. And when he had finally exploded at the authorities after their insinuation that she had acted deliberately, they had finally apologized. Or rather, offered the excuse that since no prison on Earth had ever been able to hold the former villainess, it seemed unbelievable that one average human, criminal though he was, had managed it.
On the bed, Shego suddenly lurched onto her side. Drakken's eyes widened and he made his presence known.
"Shego?" he asked in fear.
"Gonna throw up..." she mumbled as she held her stomach and her breaths became heavy.
Drakken grabbed the wastebasket and held it beneath her face where she had leaned over the edge of the bed. She recoiled only slightly, and then stared past him at the floor as she tried to steady herself. He watched as her breaths gradually began to slow, and then after about a minute she cautiously lay back on the bed. She set one hand over her abdomen again, but the other she placed on her forehead as she closed her eyes, her lips parted and her brow furrowed as she continued to struggle.
Drakken's heart was racing. She hadn't been physically sick in the days that had passed. It didn't make any sense... Except...
"Morning sickness?" he asked carefully.
"Maybe," she said softly, her eyes opening briefly as she considered. After a few seconds she closed them again, her voice falling to a whisper. "I think it's still too soon."
Drakken's heart sank in despair. She barely ate. She didn't go to work anymore (per his demand, she was on stress leave). She lay in bed for half the day more often than not, but never napped and could barely get a few hours of sleep at nights. Now she was getting ill.
As fearful as he was for her, he had an equally great fear for the new life that was growing inside her.
Drakken was a scientist. As soon as they had learned Shego was pregnant, he had started his research. He knew how important it was for mothers to have stress-free pregnancies in order for the healthy development of the baby. Especially in the earliest weeks.
He watched for another minute as her breathing gradually evened. She swallowed slowly, and he saw how dry her lips were. He glanced at the two nightstands and saw no cup indicating she'd had water that day. He looked back at her as she switched which hand was on her abdomen and which was on her forehead.
Drakken felt the fear begin to tighten his chest. He cleared his throat softly and then set his hand softly next to hers over her middle. But at the moment his fingers made contact, she startled slightly. His heart hurt even more. Despite the audible warning he'd given, she still hadn't been sure...
He looked at her face. Some of the worry lines in her forehead had faded. He hoped his touch was helpful... No, he knew it was. But she was still struggling a lot more with all that had happened than she had expected herself to. It made him wonder at times if she'd actually told him the entire truth of what had happened. He would then immediately remind himself she had no reason to lie. Unless to spare his feelings...
He went back and forth over it in his mind for several minutes. But as he had gotten the train of thought going, he suddenly found he couldn't shake it as he looked at her distressed face and listened to her shallow breaths. He pinched his eyes shut, furious with himself. But his lips moved anyway.
"Shego... Are you sure you...told me everything, about what happened? I mean...was there anything else you...should have told me?"
He wasn't sure about his phrasing. He didn't want to sound like he was accusing her of anything at all.
She looked just as confused as he felt. She studied him for a long moment trying to decipher his meaning, and then her eyes became a bit clouded.
"Did you...want to hear the details...?" She looked very reticent. He quickly shoook his head.
"No, I...I just..." He looked down. He looked up again. "I just want to help you. I don't know what to do, Shego... And I don't want to make you have to think about it. But I can't figure out what's wrong..."
Shego looked back at the ceiling. She gave him a brief, knowing glance. Yes, he knew that her nightmares were part of why she couldn't sleep anymore... But he was losing her in the daylight hours too. He was losing...all of her.
Her hand slid atop his on her abdomen and she laced their fingers together.
"Actually...that might help."
"What?" Drakken asked. Her cautious but hopeful eyes met his.
"Talking about it... Maybe then I won't think about it every time I close my eyes."
Drakken's breath caught. He...he didn't actually want to hear it. Just the thought.... Knowing that another man had touched his wife, was bad enough.
The hope began to fade from Shego's eyes. He tightened his fingers on hers.
"If you think it will help you..." he said quietly, his throat tight.
She gave him a grateful look, even though she appeared uncertain herself. Her other hand left her forehead and hugged herself across her chest.
"I remember pain when I came to, from the knockout stuff... He was digging his fingers into my hip, and yanking on my zipper. But he'd already broken it..."
Drakken watched a broad array of emotions play across her face as she recalled all of the details of the horrendous event. He knew his own face was a mirror of hers at times with the horror and fear of what she had endured as the tale drew out to be several minutes. But he also grew angrier as she began to confirm many of his assumptions. The thought crept into his mind again that if the vile criminal weren't already dead, Drakken would have killed him himself.
Suddenly, Shego squeezed his hand hard.
"Drakken."
He startled from his thoughts and felt the furious grimace on his face. He forced it away before meeting her eyes. She looked afraid, disturbed...sympathetic, and even hopeful.
"I'm going to be okay. Don't...don't be like that," she said, reaching her free hand to his cheek.
He mirrored her gesture and then let his hand come to rest on her shoulder as his face fell.
"But you're not okay..." he whispered. "You're not getting better. You can't even sleep..."
Fear of losing her suddenly assaulted him like an enveloping darkness. He sank down to sit on his heels next to the bed, closing his eyes against the dreadful sensation. Every moment of every day, she seemed to be slipping away from him. And he didn't know how to bring her back.
He carelessly brought her held hand to his lips and kissed her fingers as his mind continued to race. She was his entire world... He could have only her and nothing else, and he would still feel he had everything... And he was losing her.
"Do that again?"
He opened his eyes to the sound of her quiet voice and looked at her in question.
"Kiss me."
He brought her fingers to his lips and kissed them long and slow, feeling the strength in her bones while his eyes never left hers. A yearning and a desperation was building behind her dark gaze, and a moment later her hand was behind his neck, gently pulling him to her.
He met the warmth of her lips in a soft caress, pouring love through the tender touch until they both needed to come up for air. Drakken gasped softly, breathlessly, and stared at her. The hopeful look in her eyes had faded, and she was looking past him, away at a point in the room.
"I think I know what would help..." she murmured.
Drakken's brow rose. If she thought something would help, why did she look so...?
"I think..." she said hesitantly, "if we made love... But..."
"I don't think I can," Drakken blurted out. A moment later, he blinked as he realized Shego had said the exact same words in unison with him.
It wasn't even a question in his mind. Of course she couldn't, how could she possibly want to with the dreaded memories so fresh and their pain still affecting her?
Shego was shifting over, and Drakken crawled up onto the bed to lay next to her, leaning up on his side as she continued to speak, staring wide-eyed at the ceiling again as she usually did throughout the days.
"I don't feel like me anymore. I feel like...like part of me was stolen. Except...somehow, it was part of me that...that wasn't really me. It was you," she said, turning her worried eyes to his again. "I know that doesn't make any sense..."
Drakken watched her as he tried to process her meaning. It was undeniably true that there was something special and transcendent about...being one with her. He wondered not for the first time if that was something normal between couples, or unique to them. He'd only been with Shego, so he had no basis for comparison. But it was unquestionably, the greatest feeling on Earth.
"It...makes sense..." he said slowly.
And it did. Because he had repeatedly and angrily had the thought that she had been stolen from him; that something rightfully only his had been forcibly removed, torn out with a dagger and leaving her with jagged bleeding wounds that no medicine knew how to heal. Except that the wounds were also in him somehow.
When he considered his own pain, it was always followed with the very primal thought that he needed to reclaim her; that although the other man had only gone so far and that his actions were hated, Drakken still needed to take his woman back in a very physical way, proving that he had the only right to her.
It was a strange thought that slightly disturbed him if he thought about it for too long. But now, looking at the desperation in Shego's eyes... Somehow and inexplicably...it seemed to be exactly what was needed. And she felt the same way.
"But...I can't," Shego said quietly, her gaze becoming half-lidded as she stared sadly at the ceiling.
Drakken kissed her cheek. "Neither can I," he said with understanding.
Shego took a breath and her lips parted, but after a long moment she let the air go in a wordless exhale. Drakken watched as her eyes began to take on the same worried expression they had held for over a week now. His heart sank.
She suddenly looked at him. "I think talking about it helped," she said quietly.
Drakken's brow rose. "It did?"
Shego nodded, and then her gaze returned to the ceiling.
Drakken sighed, although his chest felt slightly less tight. That was at least a tiny move in the right direction. But would it be enough?
As the familiar fear of losing her came over him, he lay down and slowly pressed himself closer to her, releasing her hand and draping his arm over her and holding her gently. He closed his eyes as he felt her begin to relax against him. That was one constant that always helped soothe his fears. He could only hope it had the safe effect on her.
"Try to sleep, please Shego," he said softly.
He felt her sigh, and he barely moved or said another word as several minutes passed. But finally, he felt her breathing even out. He waited another several minutes before carefully removing his arm and moving away from her warmth. He didn't want to leave her, but he needed to get back to work.
As he crept away from the bed and out of the room, he missed Shego's eyes staring after him in silent desperation.
---------------
Over the next few days, Drakken was saddened to find that not much had changed. If talking through the ordeal had helped her, there was no outward evidence of it. The only thing he noticed that was different was that Shego seemed to be watching him more, rather than staring away at nothing.
If he was moving around in the bedroom, she was watching him. When he was cooking and when they had their meals, she watched him. And she even sat in the den more often and watched him working.
He didn't have to wonder what it meant for long, as at the end of the third day when he had entered the bedroom after finishing his work for the night, Shego was sitting up in bed waiting for him. She was wearing a lacy, sky-blue nightdress that was designed to entice.
"I need you!" she blurted out with quiet urgency before he had finished closing the door behind him.
He paused and stared at her, his mind immediately racing through the various things he thought may go wrong with that particular endeavor.
"Are you sure?" he asked cautiously. He couldn't bear the thought of further traumatizing her by unknowingly...touching her a certain way, or saying the wrong words in the wrong tone, or something.
"Yes," she said almost anxiously. She leaned back on her elbows in the bed, bending her knees and pointing her toes. The pose was sultry and alluring. But her eyes were worried.
He approached the bed anyway, not willing to deny her anything that might help by that point. It had been over two weeks now. He was so worried for her, and the baby...
When he sat down and scooted nearer to her, her arms were already outstretched. She grabbed his shoulders and pulled him down before he had even gotten his feet off the floor, and began kissing him. Drakken answered her touch and was surprised at how quickly she began untucking his shirt and undoing his buttons.
The familiar touch of her hands was like salve on a wound. But that feeling instantly brought confusion. It wasn't supposed to be about him feeling better. It was supposed to be about healing her scars.
That thought threw his mind into clinical mode, and as he kissed her he became less aware of her hands pulling off his clothing and her lips meeting his adoringly. He was too busy wondering exactly what he was supposed to do in order to most safely accomplish the goal.
"What's wrong?" Shego asked, her lips finally releasing his and her head falling back to the pillow. She looked confused and concerned.
"What do you mean?" Drakken asked as he sat up and finished pulling off his shirts.
"You're not... You don't seem very..." she paused and looked him over as he kicked off his shoes slid out of his pants, "interested."
Drakken looked at her uncertain expression. He didn't need to look at his crotch to know nothing was happening there. He realized that the way he had been thinking, he was never going to be able to get focused enough.
"Sorry, I was...I was just worrying," he said honestly, leaning over her to kiss her again.
He tried to focus on what he was supposed to feel. The touch of her lips meeting his so perfectly, her hands running up his arms and holding his shoulders, and her knee pushing between his legs and trying to move him closer to her.
None of it was helping. He'd been stuck so long in a state of concern, that he was barely affected by her attentions. He sighed in frustration and sat up again, his brow furrowing. Shego looked at him in confusion and sadness.
"Hold on..." he said, looking down at her and starting to let his eyes roam over her body.
"Do you...not want to?" Shego asked, a hurt and even more worried look coming into her eyes.
"No, no I just...sorry, give me a second," he said, letting his eyes take in every inch of her.
He looked at her feet, and the perfect symmetry of her shapely legs. He looked at the way the hem of the short, lacey nightdress fell over her thighs at just the right spot to entice, but still left everything to the imagination.
As his eyes continued upward his goal of arousal was interrupted again by the memory of bruises on her skin. His gaze fixed on her clothed hip, where he had seen the dark bruises in the pattern of fingerprints weeks ago. Where her attacker had simply taken out his fury at not being able to do worse to her. It made Drakken's heart beat harder.
The uncomfortable, primal desire he'd been having to reclaim her started to return. He latched onto that feeling and forced it to grow by recalling the horrid memories she'd shared with him of her experience. Of words spoken that were nothing but hate, and of violating touches of hands and lips.
It made him angry. She was his wife. His only. No one else had the right. And the recollection of her descriptions was indeed starting to stir something in him that he could only describe as territorial. He needed to reclaim her as his own. And that thought was finally building his arousal.
"Drakken?"
He brought his eyes up to her face and he was instantly shaken out of his thoughts. Shego looked...afraid.
"What's wrong?" she asked, leaning away from him slightly. Her voice was thin.
He shifted toward her, beginning to comprehend his mistake, and with the movement caught a glimpse of his reflection in their vanity mirror. He met his own gaze and saw the cold anger he had allowed to build, mixed in with an almost blind determination... And then seeing the confused and frightened look on his wife's face...still trusting, despite how he looked...
"I..." He turned back to her, forcing everything he had been thinking out of his mind. "I'm sorry. I was...thinking about what happened, since I was having trouble..." he said with a gesture. "But when I think about everything, I get angry, and it...it makes me want to..."
He paused and frowned at himself. Would she like the words that had been running through his mind? Thoughts of claiming her, possessing her, and making her his again? Even though she'd not really been taken from him...
He saw Shego shift away again and his eyes snapped back to focus on hers. She wasn't happy.
"You have to...be angry to...?" she asked. Her gaze darkened and she looked past him with the worried and fearful stare he'd become accustomed to seeing on her. "I don't...want you angry."
Drakken reached out for her, desperate to erase the last few moments and apologize. But Shego lay down and turned away from him, curling in on herself.
"I need you," she said quietly.
The sound of her sniffling was what brought the lump to Drakken's own throat. He slowly lay down and cautiously set his hand on her bare shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Shego. I'm so sorry."
Her hand reached back and grabbed his, and he took it as a sign that it was okay to be closer. He slowly curled up against her back. And when he felt her frame shaking with silent cries she was struggling to control, he couldn't stop tears from coming to his eyes.
"I'm so sorry..." he repeated, putting his arm around her and pulling her close. He was relieved that she leaned into him, rather than pulling away like he feared.
"Can't..." Shego said tearfully, "can't you...just love me?"
Drakken's heart broke at her words. He held her tighter as he silently cried into her hair.
He realized then that the horrible things she had endured wasn't something either of them could just get over. The sordid incident was something they would both have to heal from and work through. And probably for a long time.
He also realized that she had been right about him that night everything had happened. He was bottling it up, just as she'd thought. He was trying to be strong for her. But he was just getting weaker for the both of them.
"Can't you just love me?"
Her sad, desperate words resonated in his mind. Couldn't he?
He thought of the way she had first kissed him when he sat down on the bed minutes ago. The way her lips had poured adoration and desire into every touch, and the way her hands had spoke of yearning and need as she had embraced him and tried to pull off his clothing.
She...'just loved' him. And in those moments she hadn't appeared worried about memories or pain, the way he was. She trusted him. She trusted his love. And he had very nearly violated it.
He scowled at himself for a moment before shaking it away and focusing again on what she wasn't saying explicitly, but what was implied. She trusted him to heal her mental and emotional scars. She wanted him to. And he didn't need to worry in excess about being careful as long as...all he did, was...
"Yes I can," he said aloud into her hair.
"What?" Shego murmured, sniffling again.
Drakken leaned back and gently pushed her shoulder until she lie down, looking up into his eyes. He rubbed his face to get the tears away and then gently used the back of one knuckle to dab at hers.
"I can...just love you."
Her brow rose slightly, and her eyes remained uncertain. Drakken ignored the fresh damage he had caused in favor of sitting up, taking her hand, and kissing it.
He kissed the back of her hand, and along the length of each of her fingers. His caresses were slow and lingering, giving attention to every joint and muscle and inch of lovely green skin. He turned her hand over and gave the same attention to her palm.
Instead of worrying about what she may not want, he thought of how lucky he was to have her. How lucky he was that she had chosen him, when she could have had her pick of men. And that her choosing him was the result of nothing less than a deep, passionate love she had expressed to him from their first kiss, to the simple gestures she made for him throughout each day.
"It's all I've ever wanted..." he murmured absently, only realizing he'd spoken the thought aloud when he felt Shego shift nearer to him.
As he kissed her wrist he looked up into her eyes, and he saw that the worry was fading. He continued his attentions, kissing the soft, pale skin on the inside of her forearm, and then gently turning her arm to kiss the slightly rougher skin at her elbow.
"You're beautiful," he said shakily, smiling down at her as he continued the rain of kisses over her flawless green skin. It might be too late that afternoon to redeem the precious moment of normalcy she had initiated, but he would try as long as she let him.
She pulled her arm out of his grasp and looped it around his neck, pulling him down to kiss her lips. Again her touch was nothing but loving, and full of need. It fueled his desire, and also his determination to demonstrate what he had failed to do before. He loved her with all that he was, and he wasn't going to let her have any doubt that love was the only reason he was in their bed preparing to ravish her.
He leaned away and out of the grasp of her fingers, despite the small whimper she gave, and he moved to sit up between her legs. He picked up one of her feet and set it atop his shoulder and then turned his head to kiss her ankle. She smelled of fresh apples, the scent of her soap, and he knew she had just come from the shower. He lifted her foot again and kissed its sole. The tiniest and briefest of giggles was the response, since she was ticklish there.
Drakken grinned, calm beginning to return, and he set her foot back on his shoulder and held it carefully with one hand so he could lean forward to kiss along her calf. His free hand began running up and down the inside of her thigh, massaging the firm flesh as his lips attended to the rest of her leg.
Shego's fingers wiggling into the elastic band that held his boxers at his waist broke his focus, and he paused and rested his cheek against her leg as he smiled at the happy and yearning look on her face. It was only the relief in her eyes that reminded him that all was not well, and there was more weight to his actions now than perhaps any of the other intimate times they had shared.
He set her leg down and moved to divest himself of his last article of clothing while she pushed herself to sit upright. She lifted her arms, and he gently pulled off her lacy blue nightgown. As soon as she was free, her arms went around him. Drakken had expected a kiss, but she instead she clung to him tightly and rested her head on his shoulder.
He held her close in response, his hands pushing her hair aside to feel the warmth of her back. He rested his cheek against her head as he slowly rubbed up and down her smooth skin. He hoped he was finally helping her... He hoped his foolishness of before, despite the insistent thoughts in his head, wouldn't further harm her.
His thumb and fingers massaged the base of her neck while his other hand traveled in long and slow broad strokes over her back. After several passes he boldly slid his hand down to grip her rear, and after another slow rub of her back he added kneading the softer flesh to the routine.
Shego sighed into his neck and relaxed heavily against him, her tight grip loosening to be merely firm as her fingers moved to clutch his shoulders. He was forced to shift as she suddenly snuggled nearer, bringing them as closely together as she could while they were sitting up, and then pressing her cheek to his.
Drakken wasn't sure how long they sat simply holding each other, but he spent the time forcing his mind to calm. Shego was safe, in his arms. Despite how she had been slipping away from him for days, somehow...she was finding her own way back to him. And all she wanted from him, and was eager to give, was love...
He turned his head to kiss her temple, and then continued to place small, soft kisses over her face. He felt her relax even further, and soon she was returning the kisses across his jaw and cheekbones. When their lips finally met, the passion was a familiar yet soothing fire. He focused on that sensation, and the desire for her that bloomed in his chest with the tender caress of her lips.
She still clung tightly to him, kissing him deeply as he finally lowered them down and reached back to tug the blankets over them. And then he braced himself on his elbows as he stretched out and settled comfortably to look into her eyes. The faintest hint of worry had returned, and he leaned down to kiss her neck and shoulders briefly as he wove his fingers into her hair.
"Okay?" Drakken asked softly, bringing his eyes back to hers.
Her response was to tighten her arms around him and kiss him with yearning, and he closed his eyes and placed his forehead against hers as he tentatively completed their union. He held back his instinctive moan of pleasure, but his eyes fluttered open when he heard her familiar, softer one. It was an assurance he needed, and with his fingers in her hair beside her face as he stared down at her, he made love to her with gentle slowness.
Of all people in the world, Shego had chosen him. The perfect woman had chosen him, and wanted him. It was with that immense feeling of gratitude that he poured love into her and hoped she knew how happy her love made him.
Yes, he could just love her. He would love her no matter what. It was all he ever wanted to do.
He only broke eye contact with her to blink or to kiss her, their noses touching briefly in between with each of their joint movements. He felt a thrill when she began to sigh softly with pleasure and responded to him with like passion. And as the minutes passed he watched the change take place in her eyes far faster than he'd expected. Her worry dissolved as she gazed back at him, her verdant eyes staring back into his and searching for love. With each passing moment, everything about her calmed, the remaining tension in her body vanishing and her gaze becoming adoring and grateful as he stared at her with all the love in his heart. When tears started to brighten her eyes he kissed them away, and her soft sighs grew slightly louder with her happiness. He was surprised to feel his own eyes stinging as they stared at one another, but he didn't care as he smiled both in relief and in their shared joy as their eyes communicated the answers they had both needed.
She was going to be fine. And as long as she was, so would he.
---------------
Drakken woke up with a start, but then relaxed with a deep sigh. He lay on his back, his arms surrounding his wife who was also on her back and half-atop him as she slept soundly. He wasn't sure what woke him, his heart still calming from the sudden change from deep sleep to staring at the early-evening light in the bedroom. But sudden realization caused his heart to leap again in a massive wash of relief.
The worry lines were gone from Shego's forehead. Her eyes weren't pinched shut in pain, and her mouth wasn't fixed into a permanent grimace. For the first time since that horrid day she looked to be at peace. And finally, she was asleep.
Drakken carefully tugged the blankets higher around them, and then settled back into the pillows as he watched the gentle rise and fall of her chest with her peaceful breaths.
He watched her for what may have been hours, afraid of something waking her and determined to lull her back to sleep somehow should that occur. But when the light under the curtains finally faded to darkness, he couldn't fight the pull against his eyelids. As he slipped back into slumber, he found her hand with his and laced their fingers together in a solid reminder of what he now understood he had irrationally doubted: she was, had always been, and would only ever be his.

hi Liya!!! I just wanted to say I love love love "I've become the villains lover!", ITS SOOOOOOO GOOD, I've been rereading it everyday kskjkefjks it gives me the strenght I need to get through the day ya know! and your writing style is wonderful, you managed to capture my attention the whole way through!!! and also I loooove the mc, they're just like me fr!! I could go on and on about it but I'll spare you the ramble, but thank you sooo much for posting it!!
I was wondering, if you're alright with it, do you have any recommendations on manhwa with similar tropes to the ones you used? I've been wanting to begin reading this genre but I'm not sure where to start, so I'd really appreciate it!!
hi hi hi!!! I'm so flattered to hear you like it enough to reread it!! Thank you for your kind words, too!! I would never turn down the opportunity to hear your rambles if you ever felt inclined to share!!
But as for manhwa recs? Of course!! I have some series that I absolutely adore and that I would love to share!! I've included the Korean/English titles and some general thoughts on them! All of these, barring who made me a princess and beware the villainess, are not completed!
Suddenly Became a Princess One Day/Who Made Me a Princess: an absolute classic of the genre! It was one of the first manhwas I ever started reading, and what makes it stand out is the focus on a father-daughter relationship. The art is gorgeous, too! There are some plot beats in the manhwa, especially in the later seasons, that I don't really like, but it's still a charming and engaging read overall! It's about a girl who gets transmigrated into a novel she read, and all the things she gets up to as she tries to survive a fate where she dies!!
A Stepmother's Marchen/A Stepmother's Fantasie: This manhwa's art and composition are so beautiful. It's very atmospheric, and the characters are all wonderfully developed. The MC's struggles in particular are so poignant to me: being thrust into a position she never asked for at such a young age, stuck mothering kids she's barely older than. The MC dies and returns to the past, basically getting a chance to do things over.
Beware the Villainess: I loved this manhwa a lot! I think it deconstructs some of the usual manhwa tropes so well, and I found it quite funny. The villainess/MC decides to change the fate she (and the heroine) hold in the original novel, and goes up against the original male leads to do so. Again, gorgeous art, and I was rooting for the villainess and the heroine to end up together!! I also love that it didn't try to drag out any of the events, and ended on a satisfying note.
I Raised Cinderella Preciously/A Wicked Tale of Cinderella's Stepmom: This manhwa!! It puts a spin on the classic Cinderella tale and really fleshes everything out!! I love the emphasis on the bond between the MC and her kids! The development of their relationship, and the clear love they hold for each other... it's touching!! I'll admit, I do not care for the male lead whatsoever, and I'm more invested in the oldest daughter's relationship (probably because I'm closer to her age haha).

@dawndelion-winery — certified diluc kisser, and a very interactive writer. if you're looking for a writer who posts constantly and updates constantly, then here is acco !! a recommendation from me is to read their "sibling rivalry" fic, because one word to describe it is chaos, definitely chaos. + plus points because they write for the fatui harbingers and the non existent yakshas 💀
@ayazure — ciel is a sweet and easy to talk writer, for starters if you're new to her blog, pls do read her "what's your blood type" fic, because it absolutely will give you the laugh you might be needing right now. + plus points because her themes are immaculate to look at and she's also kind too !! 💪
@telemi — tel is another writer who's easy to approach or interact with. she puts all her effort to depict a fic she writes on, and if you'll ask me what to recommend from her blog, it's a royal au with genshin men that is titled "is it (im)possible, after all?", it will somehow give you those commoner and a highly ranking royal trope that you're thirsting for
@kazucafe — lena is a big fluff writer, so if you're very into fluff and cuddles genre, then she's the person i recommend you too !! to look for her works, just press the link that says "writing tag" and poof welcome to the abode of lena's fluffy works that would make you kick your knees !! <3 + plus points because her theme is aesthetically pleasing to look at

Manhwa novels be titled “Running from my shitbag husband who cheated on me with my younger sister because we had an arranged loveless marriage ” and it turns out the MC is gone for like. 2 weeks. then they come back because the ML shed a solitary tear and said he’s sad now that she’s gone :( and oh the sister was mind controlling him actually :(
This is me with "I'm a Villainess But I Became A Mother" and "I'm Divorcing My Tyrant Husband". The former, while the comic is still ongoing, the light novel has revealed the cheating kiss that the female lead thought she saw her husband doing with another woman, was an illusion because that other woman was a witch. I like am not a super big fan of, you know, yandere stories where they WANT to be together? Or where it's kinda glossed over? like girl you ran away and he's kidnapping you and your daughter (which is technically his but still)
AND THE SECOND ONE, LISTEN TO THIS BULLSHIT, so in "divorcing my tyrant husband" its a combination "oh my god I read this novel and now I'm in the world of the story" isekai/transmigration story ie. the protagonist dies and takes over the life of another person who died, like, they die and the protagonist soul enters their body and they become them kinda thing. The story begins with the Empress being just completely ABADONED for a concubine by her husband, and she dies alone in her room from a poisoning, so when she transmigrates she starts being openly rude to him and demanding a divorce and even causing public incidents that make her look bad and also make him look bad
THE FUCKING KICKER IS THAT HE INITIALLY CHEATED ON HER BECAUSE SHE WASNT EVIL ENOUGH AND BY HER BEING A RUDE BITCH AND WANTING TO DIVORCE HIM, THAT MAKES HIM FALL IN LOVE AND WANT TO STAY WITH HER! Unbelievable!
Anyways I've been reading revenge manhwas which have actually been about getting back at people like, nonromatically, and my favorites so far, while unfortunately still ongoing, are Vengeance From A Saint Full Of Wounds, I Tamed a Tyrant and Ran Away (combination revenge slash yandere story), The Kind Older Sister Is No More, The Villainess is a Marionette, and Actually, I Was The Real One (which I just spent all morning reading only to find out it hasn't been updated since May, author please come back I really love this one ❤). Some of these really boil my blood and I live vicariously through every protag overcoming their obstacles 😩❤ if I could write stories HALF as compelling as some of these it would make me very happy

Book rant 🍓
Title: I Become A Burdensome Child After Transmigrating
Author: Biting Peaches
Genre: Romance
Status: Ongoing
My progress: Chapter 717
(I'm reading the English translated version found on Webnovel.)
Okay, I've been meaning to post a rant about this book which I have grown to love.
To give you an idea about what the book is about, it's about a girl who got transmigrated to a story she once read. Before dying, she felt very sorry for the villain of the story, thinking that the villain didn't deserve such a tragic ending (I think she scolded the author of the story, too). Now that she had transmigrated in this story, she was given the role of Su Jiu, the villainess who did everything to separate the female and male lead all to end up in vain and a tragedic ending too. This time, she didn't want to walk in the footsteps of the former villainess. She wants a peaceful life that is as far away from the leading characters as possible. Furthermore, she befriended the little villain, Rong Si (probably to ensure her safety in the book) and made sure to raise him well so that he will not end up evil, leading him to a tragic ending.
Although this book may sound cliché, as the "rebirth" and "transmigration" plot is pretty common these days in East Asian modern light novel literature, it is still a sweet and beautiful story to read. This story honestly made me feel like a mother, watching my two babies grow up together and fall in love with each other since the story started when they were still small toddlers. Currently, Su Jiu and Rong Si are now teenagers. Their age gap is 2 years, approximately. Su Jiu is attending a prestigious high school, and Rong Si is about to attend university. He skipped a few grades because of his high IQ.
About the characters, I like how the author gave life to them. Apart from the infinite charm that the main characters have, their personality overall is realistic. I can even relate to some of them. Their emotions and feelings are also written really well, making me feel attached to the characters. I'm happy when they're happy, sad when they're sad. I look like a fool in front of my phone, laughing and crying. I feel my heart ache whenever our little villain, Rong Si, encounter hardships. Truly, he doesn't deserve it. It's like the author of the story Su Jiu transmigrated into was really hell-bent on making him evil! No wonder Su Jiu scolded the author!
What sets this story apart from the rest of the same genre is that its character transition is impeccably smooth. If you have read other transmigration/rebirth stories, the change of character/personality is always too sudden, puzzling and shocking all the other characters of the story. Then, the female lead will always get away with the "I was blind! I'm sorry for the past mistakes I've done, I've decided to change." reason. Truly, it's not smooth. However, in this story of Biting Peaches, the transmigration happened when Su Jiu was still a toddler, making the transition smoother. Nobody was shocked of a sudden character development overnight. Additionally, the "villain" male lead, Rong Si, was actually given an adequate back story as to why he became a cold person. In other Chinese light novels, the male lead was always described as cold and averse to women since birth even if his family conditions are healthy and his life is practically flawless. It doesn't build the foundation of the character's personality well enough. On the other hand, Rong Si was described, in the beginning of the story, as like any other normal child: joyful and playful. Until one day, when misfortune befell on his family one after another, that this adorable child was forced to harden his heart to survive. He became cold to people because these people would often criticize and insult him and his mother. He also had trust issues and low self-esteem, as he lived a life of a beggar when his father kicked them out of their home. Su Jiu and his relationship started off as childhood friends, unlike other story wherein the male lead would fall inlove with the female lead unwaveringly at first sight. Then, as they grow older, Rong Si is starting to realize that his feelings for Su Jiu has exceeded that of a friend only. I'm screaming!!!
I also absolutely love how innocent Rong Si is. He's literally a cinammon roll, okay? That the author of the transmigrated story is purposefully trying to dirty. It's so cute how he'd approach his mom and ask questions like "what is a marriage", "what does wife mean", and so on that he saw from Weibo, the internet. Plus, I like how careful and understanding and DOTING he is to Su Jiu even if he is still a child. He is such a mature boy, big green flag! He is very careful with his actions whenever with Su Jiu because he is afraid to do anything that might displease her, making her not want him anymore. Everything that Su Jiu gives him, he will treasure like some priceless item. He also feels jealousy whenever other boys approach and befriend Su Jiu but he knows his boundaries as they are not an official couple YET, and Rong Si understands that Su Jiu is just a friendly and charming girl. Honestly, Rong Si's jealousy can be understood in the perspective of his insecurity that Su Jiu might find someone better out there, abandoning him just like how Rong Si's father abandoned him. He was poor and his reputation isn't good, what if Su Jiu finds a rich boy who could give her everything she wants? Good thing our Su Jiu is devoted to Rong Si and is rich enough to dote on him. I'm sure the tables will be turned in the future, tho!
As for Su Jiu, it's adorable how she assures Rong Si that she will never ever leave him no matter what, which eases Rong Si's heart. This two, OMG! The truth is, Su Jiu still doesn't have deep romantic feelings for Rong Si now that they are teenagers, but she is starting to have them!! It's funny how she feels guilty about it because she thinks of herself as older than Rong Si because of rebirth. She is starting to get jealous too!! Ooh la la~
Another thing, the side stories are also entertaining, like the love story of Su Jiu's mom and dad, as well as the love story of Rong Si's mom and Su Jiu's godfather(uncle in name) which I anticipate very much!
The actual female lead and Su Jiu also became good friends, and I hope it remains that way because I will kill to ensure the safety of my two babies! Anyway, I don't worry about Su Jiu's ending as her life is stable right now. Instead, I worry about Rong Si. I hope our cute little villain won't end up as cold-hearted as he was in the former story~~
Su Jiu, come save our Rong Si! Seriously, he makes me worry a lot.
This story's concept is unique and the translation is so good! I hope that it maintain its translation quality, let's pray! T^T

Death is the only ending for the villainess is one of my favorite OIs but I have problem with certain things in it.
P.S.: Novel spoilers ahead
Eckless/Ikiles
Coincidentally I read Eckles/og!Penny fic yesterday and I remembered something that bugged the hell out of me when I read the novel. the rebellion built by Eckles and the other slaves were painted as evil doing while the empire who enslaved them is seen heroic. How Penny treated Eckles and slavery was already annoying me but the whole rebellion part took the cake. I'm not saying she could have freed him btw as she stated she didn't have the power to do so but she could have treated him better instead of something like an object. She still considered it a game then but still it's icky. If she was trying to build a romantic relationship to get the ending, shouldn't she treat Eckles like other humans in the game instead of an object? Though I admit I became a sociopath on Sims when it comes to how I act towards them.
Him turning into antagonist is both good and bad. Good because I didn’t expect it. Bad because the reason I mentioned above. He has the right reasons but is seen bad
Honestly, I hate the whole incorporating the whole slavery concept into the story. It’s executed badly most of the time. Same thing happened with Eckless and rebellion.
Maybe a baron in debt gave Eckless as collateral or like Theon was a ward of Stark House in game of thrones. They would be better than making Eckless a slave. Both of them would have been better than slave route and they rebel for their freedom. In the case I mentioned, the rebellion would be just civil war. Or change of management
Dress style
It’s been a while since I read that part but from what I recall, Penny wearing plain clothes was praised a lot and OG!Penny is an idiot/worthless for wearing flashy outfits. Even Siyeon thought so too. At least that’s the vibe I got. Wearing summer clothes outside when it’s 0C makes you an idiot. Wearing flashy outfits doesn’t do that. It’s just the way og!Penny expressed herself
I think I read this in a few other manhwas as well. Usually the reincarnator don’t change the clothing style, or at least the ones I read. That is why Penelope’s case stuck in my mind. I think it’s because I’m also someone who likes flashy outfits, jewelry and makeup
Treatment of OG!Penny
I do like grim stories and thrillers. I liked Siyeon’s view on the story progress as she was pragmatic and selfish.
The side stories made me think that the duchy is forgiven. You may say interacting with them doesn’t mean it’s forgiven but it didn’t feel that way to me. That feels like a stab in the back for og!Penny who endured all the physical and psychological abuse.
She was only 12 when she was taken to the duchy. Her mother just passed away and she stayed with her dead mother until duke took her in as a replacement for his lost daughter. He didn’t think her as a new child that’s adopted. He thought of her as someone who looks similar to the daughter he lost. Later on Penny was subjected to abuse by the brothers and duke turned a blind eye. Seeing that the ducal family not giving a damn about Penelope, servants took advantage of it. I can’t imagine what she must have felt entire time. Imagine someone taking you in after losing the only family you have. You think that you finally found home. The man promises to treat you as a daughter but then you face the music. It was all a lie
Also the story felt like Penny is bad for being flashy, temperamental and emotional while Siyeon is good for wearing plain clothes, cold and mission focused. Like “Penelope was treated bad because she caused problems. If she didn’t do it and took it all in silence, she’d be treated better” It feels like betrayal to Penelope who was psychologically and physically abused in the household. Even small things like Derrick’s comment on Penelope and Siyeon’s clothing choice was annoying for me. What’s wrong with wearing flashy outfit? Penny liked that style. Wearing plain clothing doesn’t make one mature, level-headed or better person
The maid, Emily, was needling her to wake her up but she didn’t receive any punishment. She along with the kitchen staff were forcefully feeding Penny rotten food. You can say that Siyeon used her as a weapon but she didn’t get sentenced for abuse. She walked freely
Duke didn’t care when his sons called her names, accused her for doing things she didn’t do and berate her. You can’t say that he was just being distant OI dad and didn’t know about it. If he doesn’t know what’s going on inside his house, if he can’t even manage a house then how is he a duke who takes care of large territory?
Derrick is another thing on his own. At least he wasn’t forgiven
Reynolds was same as Derrick. Maybe only a notch down but he gets a pass 😑
Honestly, entire duchy can go to hell. They all deserve punishment. Siyeon’s treatment towards them feels like a stab in the back for og!Penny

Aside from WMMAP, what other manhwas do you enjoy??
Hmmm,,,, I have a lot of favourite manhua/manga/manhwas, but my favourite manhwa tends to be the transmigration/time travel isekai-types like wmmap. i'll just recommend my current top 5 (without wmmap) and mention a couple of others
Current Top 5 (w/o WMMAP)
5. Lady Baby (time travel) 4. If You Touch My Brother, You're All Dead (transmigration + time travel) 3. I Raised Cinderella Preciously (transmigration) 2. I'll Be The Matriarch In This Life (time travel) 1. Beware of the Villainess! (transmigration)
.
Transmigration - Honorary Mentions
• The Garden of Red Flowers • Sincerely: I Became a Duke’s Maid • The Young Lady I Served Became a Young Master • Fiancée's Observation Log of the Self-proclaimed Villainess • Originally A Lady With One Line • I'll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History • The Reason Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion • The Way to Protect the Female Lead’s Older Brother (WARNING)
.
Time Travel - Honorary Mentions
• Priscilla’s Marriage Request • Angelic Lady • Untouchable Lady • A Red Knight Does Not Blindly Follow Money • A Stepmother's Märchen • Daisy: How to Become the Duke's Fiancée • The Villainess Reverses the Hourglass
.
if you're curious about my honorary mentions/why it's on there, then feel free to ask me and i'll go over it like i will be for my current top 5! also, there’s a lot more that i could’ve mentioned, but i kinda just wanted to end my rambles off at this point
below the "keep reading" will be a few lil bits of opinion that i hold for the manhwa featuring 2 pictures (excluding honorary mentions)
5. Lady Baby
Tumblr media
cute art style and the gorgeous usage of colours and lighting, Calliope went back in time to save her family from ruin. i absolutely adore how positive and cute her relationship is with her family -- they're all quite overprotective of her and the only thing i wish would change is my desire to pinch her cheeks tbh
a fair warning for this series is that... it takes a long time until Lippe grows up. she's a baby and a small child for the major part of the series, and she's finally 12 y/o by ch103. I almost gave up at ch50, if I wasn't so persistently in love with the art style and how cute everyone is
also
Tumblr media
@ Harrison "Hal" Alpinus i'm still vERY MUCH SINGLE
----------------
4. If You Touch My Brother, You're All Dead
Tumblr media
a time travel isekai that’s by far the craziest, most beautiful work of art i’ve laid eyes on. it’s essentially manhwa on crack, istg. there’s a lot of wacky shit that goes down, and its all tied to Asterion, Rosalette’s younger brother. the pace of the manhwa is relatively fast, but it works well with its unique art style and given the characters and their personalities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
----------------
3. I Raised Cinderella Preciously aka A Wicked Tale of Cinderella's Stepmom
Tumblr media
another transmigration type of isekai!
again, gorgeous art style, with a protagonist who became a single mother of three due to the recent death of her 2nd husband (to sum it up, she's almost like the stepmother of cinderella). while her daughters aren't "conventionally pretty" (by webtoon standards, at least), she's doing surprisingly well as a mother in an old-fashioned noble society and she's always thinking about her daughters first! one of the best isekai moms of the year
going into this series at first, i didn't really know what to expect. i thought "is the prince going to be the ML? that would be weird" -- thankfully my prayers have been heard, and the ML is not the prince! it's also refreshing to see stepsisters actually getting along so well in a webtoon, though it kind of feels a bit glossed over in the fact that prior to the transmigration, "cinderella" was treated poorly for a few months
Tumblr media
((i would 100% propose to mildred vans i love her))
----------------
2. I'll Be The Matriarch In This Life
Tumblr media
a time travel type of isekai
another manhwa with gorgeous artwork and beautiful usage of colours -- the design aspect has me tearing up down to even the smallest of details. it's renaissance-type fashion, with characters you'll either love or hate. romance isn't the main focus, so patience will be needed if you're solely intent on romantic relationships
the prologue shows a glimpse of the future and how it'll turn out for Tia, but the manhwa primarily focuses on Tia's intellect and how she utilizes her knowledge of future events. plus her relationship with her father, gallahan is just so wholesome and adorable. there's just so much i could go on about
Tumblr media
i'm very excited to see how Florentia/Firentia grows into the Matriarch of her family, even if i'm high-key interested in seeing her grown up ^^
((also, bless you underrawr and whoever else contributed to the gallahan fanclub corner -- i firmly support you, my dudes))
----------------
1. Beware of the Villainess!
Tumblr media
by far one of my most favorite villainess transmigration isekai, with gorgeous lines and clear details and simple but gorgeously utilized shading. Melissa has 100% snatched my heart as she shamelessly gives the guys the beat down of the century whilst also snatching a hunk of her own and whisking the novel’s femc off her feet
while i’m a firm ninelissa shipper, i definitely ship yurilissa. yulissa??? idk i think im just making up ship names at this point. but now i’m definitely lowkey interested in the potential of yona/yuri but alas
the manhwa’s both funny and lovely, and i wholeheartedly enjoy this series a ton. i don’t think there’s a lot for me to say -- melissa’s a strong FL and she won’t hesitate to fight when push comes to shove
Tumblr media
also, it has meme references

Best Wishes
I'm walking with Ursch on the crowded and noisy platform of the train station.
I decided to ask him a question I've been meaning to ask.
"Why did you ask Gijs and Allis to pretend to summon the Hell's gate with me?"
"It's a show for the people watching. I want them to think that casting Hell's Gate became possible only because of the four of us. If people find out that you can summon it alone, they would surely covet Isabella and break our engagement."
I didn't think about that possibility. Summoning it alone would surely gain a lot of attention.
I thanked Ursch's quick thinking.
Gijs is the son of the leader of the Magic Division, and Allis became known to have a strong magical talent and power because of her nonstop firing of bombing magic during the turmoil.
Ursch is partly famous as a genius alchemist who creates magic items for the Schneiver Company, and I'm mostly famous from the game of tag fiasco.
It was convincing that the four of us summoned the Hell's Gate.
Furthermore, even if someone tries to find out how to summon it, they can't just force the Duke's daughter, Marquis's daughter, the son of the Magic Division's leader and the son of the Schneiver Company, who is a commoner but someone that you don't want as an enemy.
It would be difficult to interview all four, unless you are royalty.
The royal family is aware of this but they are also concealing Chris's skills and I am also a daughter of a former princess (technically a royal) so they don't ask me anything.
"By the way, I heard that you refused a marriage proposal from the Queen's maiden family, The Lambert family."
Thankfully, the queen was not displeased with my rejection.
The queen laughed lightly when I refused on the spot. "I thought so. I told them that you will refuse since you are already happily affianced but they still insist that I ask."
Today, I came to secretly say goodbye to "someone".
Actually, I shouldn't go to see him off, but I really wanted to see him, so I asked Ursch to take me.
Look from a distance and never call out. That was the condition my mother gave me for them to allow me.
I watched him board the train at a distance with Ursch.
Ursch stoked my back, I felt sad that I may never see him again.
When we discovered that Lucy-oneesama was involved in the Colors Collector Case, the first thing that came to mind is Trevor-oniisama.
He wouldn't be the brother that I know and love if he didn't make this decision.
Amidst the dread that I felt with what waits for him, I understood my oldest brother. I would have done the same thing if it means that I can be with Ursch. I comforted myself in thinking that I know he'll be happy...
When he boarded the train and disappeared from our view, I cried to Ursch's chest.
Ursch put his hand on my back and hugged me tightly until I settled down.
Stay safe, Trevor-oniisama.
Please come back safe and sound.
I couldn't come to see you off, but father, mother, and Daemon-oniisama are hoping that you will come back safely.
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆
Lucy, the former daughter of the head of Magical Division, was detained in the train.
She is being sent to Count Lambert's territory.
It has been confirmed that the largest dungeon in the Roserial Kingdom, "Zelvandam", has up to 45 layers three years ago.
Because of her involvement with the Colors Collector Case, she will be sent out as a reinforcement in the most dangerous parts of the 45th level of the dungeon for five years.
Her dungeon survival rate is estimated to be 25% in the first year and 7% in the second year.
Lucy is supposed to be executed but because of Chris's "Oath Magic", it was proved that the only crimes she was guilty of is the kidnapping and attempted murder of Gijs and Isabella. Both of them did not sue.
If she can survive the dungeon, she'll be free in five years.
Lucy's sentence was considered a community service but going to the 45th layer of the dungeon is no different from a de facto death penalty.
The odds of surviving and returning after five years were hopeless.
A long haired man sat beside Lucy who was restrained and waiting for the train to depart.
Lucy's eyes widened in surprise "No way... Trevor? Why? Why are you here?"
"Do you really think I'll let my precious fiancee travel alone? I can only provide assistance and support, but I can almost make anything on the spot."
"I was disowned by the Toland family. Our engagement has already been dissolved. You're the eldest son of the Duke, there's no reason for you to dive into the dungeon with me."
Trevor shakes his head in disagreement.
"I don't remember breaking our engagement. Besides, I was disowned like you. Lucy, after five years, after our dungeon adventure, I'd like to marry you in a cute little church. I can't give you the Marquis title that you wanted, but I'm confident that I can give you a lot of love... so will you marry me?"
"You are really stupid. ...  Really an idiot that can't be saved..."
Lucy nods many times, crying and rubs her forehead against Trevor's chest.
Trevor hugged her head, crying and muttered how stupid Lucy was as she cried.
◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆
I eventually let go of Ursch when I calmed down.
"There are rare items being imported around the station, would you like to see them before I take you home?"
Ursch asked me on a date right? KYAAAAAAA~ So happy! "I would be happy to do that!!!"
I pushed all the sad thoughts at the back of my mind.
It is no exaggeration to say that my happiness lies in the days I spend with Ursch.

New Isekai Recommendation Alert
Hello my little hoes, I am back with another QUALITY isekai recommendation. Say hello to:
THE WAY TO PROTECT THE FEMALE LEAD’S OLDER BROTHER
Tumblr media
Summary: I accidentally took possession of someone in a 19+ reverse harem novel. The problem is that I became Roxana Agriche, the older sister of the sub-villain. My damn father kidnapped the heroine's brother.
Now, is the only thing left to meet a terrible end from the vengeance of the heroine? But what if I can avoid that horrible development?
”I'm also interested in this toy.”
'I'll protect you until you can get out of here safely.'
The heroine's brother, Cassis Pedalian, will definitely be able to pay me back later.
Featuring:
Tumblr media
THE BEAUTIFUL MOTHER
Tumblr media
THE EVIL FATHER
Tumblr media
THE OTHER WIFE
Tumblr media
OUR MAIN protagonist VILLAINESS
Tumblr media
THE KPOP LOVE INTEREST
Tumblr media
THE ANNOYING BROTHER
Tumblr media
THE CUTE BROTHER
Tumblr media
THE MYSTERIOUS BROTHER
Also featuring:
Tumblr media
THE LOOKS! FASHION FASHION!
My thoughts:
Roxana is reborn as a villainess in the mafia/gangster family ’Agriche’. Her father kidnaps and kills the main characters brother Cassis Pedal, knowing the fate that awaits her Roxana tries seducing Cassis so that he survives and saves her life later on when his family win over hers. And an unlikely friendship grows between them.
I wasn't expecting much when I clicked on the story, just a decent looking isekai that I'd read and forget about but NEIN! It was GREAT. The world builing is amazing honestly, you can tell that the Agriche estate is unlike any other place, basic unspoken rules don't apply here. Everyone is hiding behind a facade to survive, they are trained since childhood to assasinate. You never know when you'll do someting wrong and get your head cut off by an umbrella. Roxana is a great character, she's not mary-sure at all, everything she does is to survive and help herself and the people she cares for. She hates her family's ways but can't leave. All in all, a great experience so far (As I'm writing this, chapter 22 has been released.)
I highly recommend this manhwa to you.

So I'm not sure if its because I'm sleep deprived or working on galaxy brain right now (could possibly be both at this point) but I've always been curious about Cinder's drive for power. What if a young Cinder was saved by someone when she was younger that inspired her to get power? What if Summer Rose was on a mission and saved a little orphan girl from grimm? That would explain her surprise at Beacon Tower when Ruby used her silver eyes and why Cinder is so obsessed with Ruby. Thoughts?
Hello Reader. Well technically,I think the reason why Cinder is obsessed with Ruby is because of how much hereyes and Silver Eye power damaged her from Beacon. Home girl lost both an eyeand an arm thanks to Ruby. I’d like to think that the reason why Cinder was sosurprised by Ruby was because she was a Silver Eyed Warrior and as far asCinder probably believed, there were nomore living Silver Eyed Warriors in existence since technically, Salem had hunted down and killed them all…includingthe last one they encountered: SummerRose.
Ironically enough I shared my own take on Cinder being connectedto Summer Rose. However I had a different outlook. For me, I think my theoryfor Cinder was inspired loosely by Cinderellawith a dash of Sofia the First. The idea I had was that Cinder was originally born and raised in poverty caring for asickly father who was her sole living relative until her father ultimately wonthe heart of the daughter of a Mistrali diplomat and married into royalty.
However much like her fairy-tale counterpart, Cinder was ill-treated by her newstepmother and step sisters and what made things worse for her was that herown father didn’t believe her went she revealed her abuse to him. UltimatelyCinder’s ole man passed away leaving poor Cinder at the mercy of her wickedstep mother who didn’t think twice about casting Cinder back out into the cold.
My theory was that Cinder’s megalomaniac demeanour came as aresult of her prolonged abuse by people who made her feel weak and frightened at what they could potentially do to her shouldshe cross them since at the time, these abusers had the one thing she didn’tpossess---power. Ultimately afterbeing abandoned by her so-called “family”, Cinder was eventually found by Salemwho wooed her in with the promise of gaining the power she desired.
Cinder was to become Salem’s apprentice. But before Salemagreed to train her, she made Cinder undergo a series of torturously rigoroustraining culminating in one final testto prove her worth and just how far Cinder was willing to go to gain the powershe sought.
Mytheory was that Salem’s test to Cinder involved her killing Summer Rose---thelast known Silver Eyed Warrior at the time.
Since my assumption is that Cinder could be in her late 20s(roughly 25-27 years old) currently, my guess was that Cinder was 15 yearsold---no older than Ruby was when she first started Beacon---when Salem senther after Summer Rose.
My original hunch was that Cinder was the one who killed Summer Rose. I liked the idea of Summer being the very first person thatCinder murdered and once she jumped that hurdle---killing a Silver EyedWarrior whose legendary power was feared by even the Grimm---there was nothingelse standing in Cinder’s way of gaining her greatest desires.
I liked the idea of Salem testing Cinder by having her killSummer Rose to prove her worthiness. And once that deed was done, Salem tookthe hungering girl under her wing to groom her and feed into her lust forpower. That was my theory and oddly enough, I’d still like to hold onto it.
I do like your idea though. About Cinder being saved bySummer Rose. Do you know what would actually be interesting? If Cinder was a by-productof Summer Rose in a sense? Like huntsmen are regarded as defenders of Remnantand protectors of the innocent.
Imagineif…back when STRQ would go on missions for Ozpin or as huntsmenin general, there was one mission in particular out in Anima (or wherever Cinderwas born in case she isn’t actually Mistrali) where the group failed to saveall the people.
Imagineif…Cinder was nostranger to fire even before shegained the Fall Maiden magic.
What if…fed upof the abuse by her step-family, Cinder committedarson and sparked a huge fire that ended up burning her original home down whileclaiming the poor unfortunate souls of her former family in the process.
Unfortunately, Cinder’s beloved father was also caught in thehellfire and helpless to actually help him, Cinder begged one of the huntsmenwho came to her rescue---Summer of STRQ---to save her father for her.
However, Summer failed to save Cinder’s father and heperished in the fire. Even with all of her power, Summer---a huntress hadfailed one of the very people she had trained to protect.
Let’ssay…Cinder held a grudge against, not just Summer but all of thehuntsman and this fed into her desire for power herself which further made her aperfect victim for Salem to prey on.
It could’ve been interestingif Cinder---an innocent child Summer hadonce saved ultimately became the budding villainess that Salem groomed to kill her. That could be a pretty cool twist.
Buuuuut then again, these are only ideas.
