Opulence - erasermic fanfic
Title: Opulence
Pairing: erasermic
Rating: Explicit
WC: 9k+
Summary:
When they’re done, when Hizashi is finally, finally laid bare and beautiful across their sheets, still shimmering and sparkling and flushed a delicious pink, the blond is breathing heavily, sweat drops gathering along his hairline and in the ridges of his collarbones.
He looks absolutely filthy in the best kind of way.
Notes: An incredibly late birthday gift for my friend, @rootistabootus(it has been 4 months girl I am so sorry), who can always make me smile any day, any time, who sends me the best memes, who supports my love for characters she doesn’t even know, who is quite possibly one of the bubbliest, most positive people I have ever met.  Who makes me feel like I can do anything, who inspires me to create and take risks and stop letting fear dictate my life. She’s selfless and one of the hardest workers I have ever met. Her optimism is fierce and strong and makes me think that anything is possible. Thank you for always being there for me and making my life that much brighter. You are an actual piece of sunshine fallen down to Earth and I am happy to have the opportunity to bask in your endless warmth. I love you!

Opulence
It was a normal occurrence, something that happened probably once a month at least.
Hizashi would come home, door swinging open and caught just before smacking into the opposing wall, the telltale clack of expensive heels giving away that this wasn’t a post-patrol late night entrance. His costume boots sounded the way all heroes’ did: like nothing at all.
Underground or not, every hero needed to be capable of stealth when the situation called for it.
With villains who had guns for fingers and steel wire hair, the situation often called for it.
Hizashi rarely dressed up for the studio either, unless he had a celebrity guest joining him on air. Shouta still remembers the glittery gold suit pants Hizashi wore when his favorite DJ was in town. It was hard to forget, with the way they threw speckles of rainbow light across every surface in their bedroom each time Hizashi opened the closet on the rare nights when Shouta forgot to pull the blinds shut.
Modeling was something that came with any popular hero’s list of duties, along with interviews, commercials, cameos in movies or TV shows, presentations at hero schools, the list went on.
The more public you were, the more the public wanted you.
Hizashi hadn’t gone the way of selling albums or cologne in magazines. Instead, he’d used his agency’s desire to sell his body in print and pixels to gain himself a spot in the fashion industry, a passion he’d had for as long as Shouta had known him. He once saw the young hero-in-training cutting out swatches of colors and patterns and pasting them inside his notebook, erasing any useful study material beneath.
Not like Hizashi ever needed to study.
Shouta didn’t quite understand the difference between couture and editorial, but he liked the way Hizashi’s smile looked when he ran his fingers over a sequined body suit or a faux fur shrug.
He never paid it much mind when his husband came home from a photoshoot, knowing the first place Hizashi would go was the bathroom to wash off any lingering glue and makeup, working gel and temporary dyes out of his hair. He’d spare a glance, curious to see what the other man had been zipped into that night, Hizashi somehow convincing designers to gift him the outfits more often than not, but that was about it.
Here and there he’d make a comment, a low whistle if it was particularly sexy, something more snide, like, that is not staying here for more than a week, if it was something they both knew Hizashi would never wear outside the house again. Shouta can still remember the great purge of spiked leotards and pointed shoulder jackets they’d been forced to endure last year when they’d run out of room in the closet for their actual clothes.
Tonight is different.
Tonight, as Shouta casts his eyes over his shoulder from where he is spread out on the couch, half-finished book in his hands, he is unable to turn away.
The smirk on Hizashi’s face, as he tilts his head up from where he’s bent down, unlacing the long, knee high black stiletto boots hugging his calves, said he hadn’t expected anything less.
Shouta’s eyes can’t pick one thing to focus on, generously grazing over every curve and dip in Hizashi’s body, all deliciously on display.
Hizashi’s shimmering, gold nails release their hold on the metallic painted laces, his hands running lightly over his knees, and then his fishnet covered thighs, before settling on his hips as the blond straightens into a standing position. He leans back a bit, the way he always did when he was feeling confident and hungry for attention, cocking a hip seductively.
That grin, accented by glimmering, glitter dusted lips, stays in place.
Shouta’s gaze is ravaging his husband.
Tonight, they’d put him in a long sleeved leotard, something Shouta was pretty used to seeing. This time, though, the material was all a shiny, smooth faux leather, with a delectably deep plunge from Hizashi’s collarbones down to just below his navel, his belly button piercing shiny and vibrant like all the other accent pieces to the outfit. Shouta is pretty sure they must have the suit taped over Hizashi’s nipples because there was no way it would be staying in place otherwise.
He also knows for a fact that they didn’t have Hizashi take out his nipple piercings, as the little ball studs were just as prominently on display as the perky flesh they were slipped through.
The whole suit looks like it was engineered to be one size too small, hugging Hizashi’s lean frame like a second skin, accentuating the angles of his hips and the deep V between them, the curve of his biceps as he shifts his arms, even his ass, never particularly all that large, looked plump and delicious with the hall light falling over the tight fabric. It left nothing, absolutely nothing, painstakingly nothing, to the imagination.
Shouta knows before his eyes dare to fall on the space between his husband’s legs that the bulge will be there, but he doesn’t expect Hizashi’s manicured fingers to wind up in his view as well, casually caressing the growing mound as Shouta continues to stare.
As if this wasn’t enough, as if the thought of his husband walking from their apartment’s parking lot and through the lobby in this incredibly sexual outfit wasn’t already getting Shouta’s throat to dry up, whoever designed this shoot had decided to take it a step further.
Hizashi had a natural beauty that was impossible to deny, and a sinful ability to turn on the heat when needed.
So why they’d decided he needed to be slicked up in a shimmery, glittering body oil was beyond Shouta.
As he finally rips his eyes away from the blond’s fingertips, still stroking over his erection as it pulls against the taute fabric, he sees Hizashi’s chest looking dewy in the same way it did in the moments before orgasm. A fierce, unrelenting heat begins pooling quickly in Shouta’s lower belly.
“Like what you-”
“Yes,” Shouta cuts off Hizashi’s teasing words, clichéd and useless. Of course he liked what he saw. Who wouldn’t? The whole point of dressing Hizashi up like this was to make any witless fool who picked up the magazine have to resort to using it to cover themselves up.
Hizashi exhales softly through his nose, one arm coming up, hand moving toward his face, and it all feels like it has slowed down, like each miniscule movement takes one whole rotation of the little hand around the analog clock hanging on the wall next to the kitchen entryway. Shouta watches the way the fabric relentlessly constricts around Hizashi’s body, as his hand runs through his hair, disrupting all those flawlessly smooth locks. They hadn’t styled it in any way tonight, letting it all fly free over the man’s broad shoulders. The golden shine of Hizashi’s hair broke up the predominantly dark outfit nicely. Shouta could see why they’d made the decision, but it certainly isn’t helping the uncomfortable way his jeans are getting tighter by the second. Hizashi lets his hand fall carelessly to his side when he’s done running his fingers through his hair, a few strands getting caught on his lip gloss and his long, fake lashes. Hizashi blinks slowly, eyes downcast, and Shouta doesn’t think it’s possible to get to the bedroom fast enough.
Judging by the way Hizashi’s next breath brings forth a small shudder as he releases it, he’s feeling the exact same way.
Shouta isn’t one to rush anything, though.
He closes his book in one hand, his middle finger still stuck between the pages, and slowly, slowly, leans forward, never breaking eye contact with Hizashi, to set it on the coffee table in front of him. Still bent over, he extracts his finger just as languidly, licking his bottom lip as the digit slips out. Hizashi swallows loud enough for Shouta to hear it from across the room.
“Are you going to take those boots off anytime soon?” Shouta asks, falling back against the couch, sinking lower into the cushions and lazily letting his legs spread wide. He lets one of his hands fall into his lap, just close enough to his crotch to stroke one finger lazily over his growing erection. He rests his head against the cushioned back and tilts it toward Hizashi, wearing a smirk of his own now.
Hizashi might have got him going with his outfit, but Shouta knew exactly how to get the other man just as riled up.
Hizashi hated waiting, and more than that, hated when his pleas for attention went ignored.
Shouta watches as the corner of his husband’s perfectly painted lips twitches. The blond flips his hair over his shoulder, brushing away the pieces that had stuck to his gloss, before sliding his legs and feet out of the high boots. The fishnet stockings go all the way to his toes, as does the body oil, despite never being in the photographs.
Hizashi steps up out of the entrance way, one hand still firmly planted on his hip, and begins sauntering across the hardwood floors like he’s gliding across a runway at fashion week. Each and every step pulls at the tight clothing, the light catching every curve, every dip as he moves, one foot in front of the other, bare thighs rubbing against one another, his hardon pressing up against the leotard, his slicked chest rising and falling with heavy, hot breaths.
The hand not stroking himself through Shouta’s pants is now curled into a fist beside him. Shouta clenches his jaw to stop himself from jumping off the couch as Hizashi finally stops in front of him. The blond’s last step is a powerful stomp that leaves his legs spread wide in a triangle, one hand still firmly planted on his hip, the other comes up to run over his own chest, fingers impossibly sliding beneath the bodysuit. Shouta watches with interest as Hizashi’s fingers make their way to the small bump of his nipple, everything so easily visible despite the fabric. Hizashi’s eyelids slip closed, long lashes caressing his upper cheeks. He throws his head back, letting his mouth pop open, as he pinches and rubs at the sensitive bud. Hizashi lets out a moan that Shouta knows is only half real, is entirely constructed just to get Shouta even more bothered than he already is, but it doesn’t matter.
His mind doesn’t care if Hizashi’s putting on an act.
His mind is hardly there anymore, all the blood gone rushing down to Shouta’s crotch the moment his husband had passed through the door.
So when Hizashi finishes gasping and tilts his head back up to stare down at Shouta, he stops playing games.
Shouta’s hands latch onto that deep plunged neckline and pull.
Hizashi comes all too easily, as if he’d planned the whole thing, as if he knew full well he’d end up straddling Shouta’s lap, their clothed cocks rubbing against each other with each and every panting breath they took.
He probably did.
Shouta doesn’t particularly care if it’s all going to Hizashi’s plan. He’s too busy fastening his mouth to the blond’s throat, kissing and licking over his adam’s apple, his collar bones, his jawline.
An annoying little voice in the back of his mind thinks I hope this oil is edible, but it doesn’t stop him from enjoying the soft, supple feeling of Hizashi’s skin beneath his lips.
It’s made all the more better when one of Hizashi’s hands comes to his chin, pulling his face away from the other man’s collar bone and toward his mouth. He knows when they part he’ll have that glittery lipstick all over his mouth, that they’ll be laughing about it tomorrow morning, still tangled together beneath their sheets. Shouta’s stomach jumps in the same way it does each time he looks outside the school’s windows and across the courtyard to the other side of U.A.’s towering building, where Hizashi and he cross paths during third period, separated by far too many walls and windows and trees, but the other man never failed to send him a large, shining Present Mic grin.
It was the little things that got Shouta’s heart skipping, which brought a light pink flush to the tips of his ears.
Right now, though, his whole body was warm, as Hizashi’s tongue drags him back to the present.
The blond’s thighs tighten around Shouta’s, and Hizashi shifts positions, bringing his chest closer, pressing into Shouta’s, so he can settle his ass over Shouta’s achingly hard cock. He starts grinding on Shouta’s lap, bringing a gasp from his lips. Hizashi hums into their kiss as Shouta’s hands move from the blond’s hips to those two plump cheeks, digging his nails in just hard enough to get a rouse from the other man, but not enough to leave a mark. He never liked bruising Hizashi, though the blond sometimes seemed to enjoy rougher treatment. Shouta didn’t think it was good to have any tender spots on your body when you were a hero, no matter how many times Hizashi insisted no villain was ever going to get close enough to his ass for that to be a problem.
Hizashi’s hands make their way into his hair, curling around Shouta’s wavy, unruly strands. He pulls, just enough to get Shouta moving back, their lips separating, both gasping, panting for air. Hizashi stares down at him, his hips stilling as he catches his breath.
“Y-” Hizashi tries to start, but clearly needs another second. He swallows, takes another breath and says, “You ready to cut me out of this thing?”
Shouta raises an eyebrow, a smirk coming to his lips.
“Are you saying you can’t get out of that yourself?”
Hizashi rolls his eyes, “I’m trying to be sexy, Sho!”
Shouta doesn’t give in.
“I think it would be sexy if you did a little strip tease,” he says, squeezing his hands around Hizashi’s ass cheeks, making the other man jump.
“F-fine,” Hizashi says, an additional blush rising to his face atop the lovely glow that had already formed during their kissing. “I don’t know how they packed me in here and I don’t know how to get out.”
Shouta snorts as Hizashi’s eyes dart away, his lips coming dangerously close to a pout, and Shouta’s heart skips.
Hizashi could come home bare naked and he’d never be more attractive than like this, natural, guard down, no personas or masks or other personalities fighting for attention, just pure Hizashi.
Shouta releases his grip a bit, bringing a hand up Hizashi’s back, rubbing soothingly across the smooth faux-leather. Hizashi’s eyes and mouth soften at the touch, before he leans back in for a less hungry kiss.
This one feels like it lasts too little, but the message it leaves is far more than just lingering, it’s persistent, unending.
I love you.
Hizashi smiles as he pulls back, head titled just enough to the side to make Shouta see him in another time, japanese maple trees framing him, the orange autumn glow shining through their leaves and cascading over Hizashi’s shoulders.
Hizashi’s thumbs brush along Shouta’s scruff covered jaw.
“Bedroom?” Shouta asks on the tail end of a breath he’d been holding for far too long, bringing his hand to Hizashi’s front, finally dipping into the space left bare by the deep plunge neckline, casually playing with the longest jewel that hangs from Hizashi’s belly button piercing. He turns it over between his thumb and forefinger, watching how the lamp light beside the couch plays in all the little rivets of the small stone.
“Please,” Hizashi begs, his hands dropping down to Shouta’s shoulders, squeezing at the same time as he jerks his hips forward just enough to get some friction on his aching cock. They let out matching hums of pleasure and the heat in Shouta’s belly becomes more insistent.
“Then let’s go,” Shouta says, his voice deep.
For how weak his legs feel right now, he still manages to wrap his arms around Hizashi’s back and lift them both out of the chair, the other man quickly crossing his long legs around Shouta’s waist. Even this feels like too much, too similar to all the times Hizashi and he had pressed one another up against one of the many walls of their home, too distracted by the others’ body to make it anywhere near a horizontal surface. Hizashi had always joked it was a double workout, could be counted as training, but the hungry look the blond gave him each time he slipped his thigh between Shouta’s, rubbing up against his crotch before hoisting Shouta up the wall, said keeping in shape was the last thing on Hizashi’s mind.
Admittedly, Shouta gives a couple glances toward the smooth, sturdy surfaces framing their hastened walk as he carries Hizashi down the hall. The other man doesn’t help, doesn’t seem to care at all that Shouta’s hands are digging further and further into that faux leather as Hizashi sucks harshly under his jaw and along his collar where his shirt has been pulled down by Hizashi’s weight.

― Noya supports going out or staying in - whether that’s trying a new Thai place, or watching anime on the couch. Sometimes you gotta paint the town red, other times you have to chill out on the sofa! ― He’s affectionate as all get out, absolutely adores and requires to touch you at all times. Hand in your pocket, hand in your hand, hand on your waist. Once you two get comfortable enough with each other, he’ll kiss you in public if you’re okay with it, he’ll hold your hand at all times, and will definitely make sure that everyone knows the two of you are grossly in love. ― I think your aesthetics would go really well together! Noya canonically loves the color black, so I think that your grunge aesthetics would go together, even if you both like to switch it up from time to time.
Tumblr media
☁ Nishinoya absolutely adores you. To the point where you’re not sure sometimes if he’s genuine or not. Whether you’re fully decked out in a complete face of makeup and a full snazzy dress, or lounging around the house in one of his old jerseys and some joggers.. that man is going to remind you how beautiful you are.
☁ He definitely wants to kick your ass in video games, though. He has a radical competitive streak, no matter what the activity is or if he’s done it before. It will be his first time playing Mario Kart and he’ll jump up and down on the couch, mashing buttons and squealing at the top of his lungs every time he gets thrown off the track. If it’s more FPS style games, he talks too loud and pretends to know what he’s talking about by using slang that he’s heard from his other friends who play video games a little more.
☁ Noya loves it when you wear crop tops - sweatshirts, tanks, tees, etc. - he likes to sneak his hands along your waist and up your shoulders. His thumbs run along your ribs and he pulls you in closer all the time, nuzzling your nose and whispering sappy compliments and corny pick up lines and raunchy one liners. He ducks his head into your neck and as he’s pressing kisses to your skin, his fingertips are searing into your waist, and you feel completely lightheaded at being so overwhelmed by his closeness.
☁ He gets loud from time to time, but when you shy away from him or possibly even tear up, he’s immediately bringing his voice down a few octaves and rushing forward to apologize and comfort you. His hands find your face and his voice is gentle, eyes warm as he looks across at you to
☁ There is a pretty heavy praise and worship between the two of you - Nishinoya loves to kiss your lips and tell you how pretty your eyes are and how good you take him and how beautiful your body looks while he’s fucking into you slow and deep. He’ll whisper with his nose against your temple, his lips against the shell of your ear, “Such a good girl, damn, you’re gorgeous. Look so pretty when you’re taking me just like this,” and then he makes your pussy cream with his fingers sneaked between your hips to find that precious bundle of nerves.
☁ On the same hand, he loves it when you whimper praises into the thin air between your bodies. You whimper, gasping out, “N-Noya, love your cock, please, fill me up, I-I want more.” And oh, does he deliver. Somehow he’s able to keep stretching you out and filling you up, even when you both think your cunt has sucked him in to the base. You tell him in blundering babbles how strong he is and how safe you feel with him, and the sound of you doting on him with your words is what makes his cock twitch just before he coats your walls white.
☁ At least once a month you two have a veg out on the couch night. Noya orders dinner, you put together a blanket nest, and you two snuggle down into the corner of the couch and watch whatever reruns or new anime is on that you’ve both decided to watch. He’ll ask you a million questions if he’s never seen it before, even if you haven’t seen it before, because he’s just so curious to know how it ends even though he doesn’t really want you to tell him.
☁ Nishinoya wants to do everything you love, no matter if he’s truly interested in it or not. It’s important to you, so it’s important to him. However, he really has a short attention span, so unless it’s something super stimulating, you’ll need to be willing to redirect him whenever necessary. You might need to stop for food in the middle just to break it all up.
☁ Affectionate? Please. Nishinoya can’t keep his hands off of you. If you’re in the same room together, he’s stood next to you, hand in your back pocket or arm around your shoulder. Everyone knows you two are together from the moment you set foot anywhere because he’s kissing your forehead or you’re leaning into his bicep or you’re holding each other around the waist. Sometimes the others have to remind you that you’re in public, even though Noya is just giving you a lil’ forehead smooch.
☁ Noya is a pretty joking guy, even though he does have his serious moments. He and Asahi are really close and he knows how to joke with him, so he learns from that and uses it to determine how far he can go with you so far as sarcasm and banter. He nudges your ribs and giggles in your ear and tells too many jokes sometimes, but you love it. There are times when he takes it too far, though, and the first time you get upset because of something he said, he’s apologizing for days and latching himself onto you like a koala. You have to tell him a dozen times over that you’re okay, so long as he doesn’t tell that joke again.
Tumblr media
"It’s hot! And I’m not getting any better at this!” Noya groans, dropping back on the concrete so he’s laid out, sprawled limbs spread out every which way. He drapes his arm over his face to cover his eyes from the beating sun, his lips pulled into a pout, “Please, can’t we eat?!”
You chuckle, squatting beside him to tickle the little sliver of skin that’s peeking out from under the hem of his shirt from where he’s caused it to ride up by moving his arms around. “C’mon, Yuu, you’re not going to quit on me now, are you?”
Noya groans, rolling onto his side so he can rest his cheek against the tops of your knees, “But it’s hot and I’m hungry. We’ve been at this for hours!”
“It’s been twenty minutes.”
“Well-”
“It’s fine, babe,” you tell him, running your fingers through his hair, pulling gently at the brunette strands with your digits. Another chuckle shakes your chest and he turns his head to look at you, thankful that your body is blocking the direct sunlight, “I don’t want to not learn, honey, I just forgot to eat breakfast. Maybe we can grab something, go for a swim, and then try again?”
You do as he says, finding a food cart to grab something small to eat and scarfing it down on a picnic table that’s centered along the pavilion that overlooks the beach. You hold hands underneath the table, your palms rested on Noya’s knee. He’ll play with your fingers, squeezing your knuckles and following the curve of your palm down to your wrist. It feels that sometimes he’s even checking your pulse to make sure that you’re still okay, still with him. As if he cannot believe that this isn’t some sort of dream that he has the ecstasy of reliving every day.
As you drop your tee shirt to reveal your bathing suit, you can’t help but notice Noya’s eyes are all over your frame. He comes up behind you before you can turn around to admonish him for undressing you with his eyes in front of everyone here on the beach, and his arms wrap around your waist, head tucked into your neck. When he speaks, his voice is husky and it sends a jolt of electricity directly to your core, “We could always just go home-”
“You promised, Noya!” You whine, circling your hands around his wrist and tugging playfully. He groans and bares his teeth to your shoulder, sucking one harsh time before releasing you, “Only because I’m completely whipped for you, babe.”
Your feet hit the water and Noya is flying past you into the waves, screaming at the top of his lungs before he plunges into the sea. You can’t contain the giggles that part your lips, covering your mouth with your hand as the waves crash into your shins. You’re meeting him halfway, floating in the ocean water up to your shoulders, your body folded at the waist beneath the crest of the waves, “You’re so dramatic, Yuu.”
“You wouldn’t have me any other way, would you?” he asks, eyes still burning with that familiar flame as he tugs you by your hips so you’re straddling his waist beneath the water. You gasp as he rolls his hips up into you, the feel of his thick length hardening against your thigh, “N-Noya-”
“Shh,” his voice is accented by the feel of his middle finger slipping your bathing suit to he side, “Keep quiet, baby girl, and I’ll make sure we both feel good.”
Your voice is lost in your throat, irises swallowed by your pupils when the first languid stroke of his fingers finds your innermost folds. Nishinoya pulls your chin with his free hand, tilting your head so he can kiss you on the mouth, eliciting a gasp from the back of your throat, “That’s not quiet, baby. Try again.”
The way you gulp and nod your head makes him chuckle, but he can’t keep himself from you, and before you know it, he’s devouring you from both ends.

come and find me~
“It’s been a while! I have something for you.”
It was only a quick v-live today, just long enough to get the word out. Kyuu had spoken to his manager earlier in the week, and while he knew that the rest of his group had been enjoying the downtime while it lasts, it was close to torture for him. In the last few weeks it had become painfully apparent just how much he relied on PS for support beyond his immediate network of friends and group members. Everything he did, he did it for PS. To read their comments online, to hear them cheering for him at concerts, and to look into their eyes and hold their hands at fan events. So far, he’d mostly used his free time to focus on himself. Sure, he had pushed out a little bit of content, but it wasn’t enough. That’s where the next idea came in.
“I’ve missed you, hello~ Yes, yes I have something exciting for you. It’s going to be happening very soon. Can you guess what it is?”
Already, Kyuu was feeling a warmth that was slowly moving through his body as he read all of their curious comments, PS trying to guess what he would be doing. Of course, mixed between were various comments telling him that they love him, asking where the other members were, and asking for shout outs for various countries and birthdays. It was his pleasure to oblige on occasion, straight after reading a plethora of KYUU NOTICED ME!!!! comments. This is what he lived for. Literally. After letting them guess what he would be announcing for a minute or two, the idol pretended to rummage around in his shirt, humming as he searched before pulling out the painfully obvious finger heart, followed by a very cute laugh and a wink.
“I’m only joking! I always have hearts for PS, so that isn’t a surprise. The thing I wanted to tell you about, is that tomorrow at ten am on our Instagram, I’m going to be having a competition! I’ve tried to make it as fair as possible, but it’s kind of a work in progress so please bear with me~”
Pausing for another moment, Kyuu scanned the chat to read the excitement of the fans, watching them all speculate over what he was going to be doing.
“I will be posting a picture to Instagram with a question for you, one that only PS should know the answer to. For ten minutes our DMs will be turned on, and you can send your answer to us, along with a brief comment about why you want to win the prize... Are you ready to find out what that is?”
Another pause for dramatic affect, allowing PS to build excitement. Before he spoke again, he banged gently on the table like a drum roll.
“The prize is going to be drawn randomly for fifteen lucky PS. Which will be a meeting and a meal with me~ As well as the other lucky winners, of course. I suppose the title of this v-live isn’t correct, since you won’t really be finding me, but we’ll be telling you where I am.”
There was a bright smile across his face as he watched the chat go wild. Both with positive and negative comments. As predicted, there were the international fans who felt slighted by the Korea based competition. There had been some PS kind enough to translate parts of what Kyuu had been saying, which he was thankful for.
“For those of you not eligible for the prize, I haven’t forgotten about you! If you are a winner and you aren’t able to attend the meeting, please let us know if you’ve been chosen. What we will do instead is, when it’s released, send you a signed copy of twentytwenty’s next album. Hopefully this will brighten your days, too. Please do know it won’t be me personally messaging on Instagram, it will be some of our staff so make sure you are extra kind to them.”
For the next few minutes, Kyuu continued talking to the PS in the chat, telling them about his days during the month that had been uncharacteristically quiet for them. When he could he tried to reply to some English comments, in English himself. He told them about his dance cover of La La La and learning with Fantizy’s Yuri, and he promised he’d been resting and eating well. They told him he looks healthy, and the truth is that he kind of does feel it too. As bored as he is, he wakes up feeling refreshed, and goes to sleep feeling content. Not to mention he knew that when he finally went back to work, they would be using his own choreography to promote their comeback. Overall he felt... Content, and he was sure he would feel even better after the competition.
“Okay, I’m so sorry but I need to go! I have plans, but I will hopefully be seeing some of you tomorrow. Goodbye for now, I love you.”
And with his last few hearts to PS, he turned off the v-live, filling with excitement as he thought about the next day.
****************
It was funny to think about, Minkyu wasn’t sure if he’d ever put as much effort into a real date as he had done with the event he was hosting today. Well, he thought that this could be considered a date too, in a sense. He was the Nation’s Boyfriend, inviting someone ( people ) to share in a fully paid for meal with him. Even if it wasn’t a romantic date, it was a similar gesture, and he couldn’t deny the excitement that was bubbling in the pit of his stomach. While it had only been announced yesterday, this is something he’d been planning for much longer.
According to his manager, organizing this with the fans online had been surprisingly easy, and out of the random, lucky PS that were drawn to win, there were about twenty that were unable to attend and were going to be sent signed albums in the future. He was assured they were all very excited to meet him, and they’d been sent a small list of rules to follow. They were simple things like the place and times of the event, not crowding around Kyuu, being courteous of other fans also attending, no video recording, and no intimate actions like asking for kisses or about invasive topics. His manager would be there the whole time, and there would also be security at the door... Just in case.
While the whole restaurant was booked out for a few hours for them, there was a private room that Kyuu was waiting in until everyone showed up. He knew it would be awkward if he sat there as they trickled in one by one, especially since, as predicted, some of them were showing up early. At one o’clock they were finally let inside, and within minutes all fifteen were seated, with obvious seats vacated for Kyuu and his manager to join them. There were some at either side of the table, so he could try to spread his time between everyone equally. At the very least, there was going to be opportunities for photos and hugs later, so there would be a chance for all the winners to get their own personal experience with him.
The idol could hear the quiet chatter of some PS mingling with each other, excitement so thick in the air you could almost see it. Which, he tried to get a peek out of the private room door, peering out of a crack he’d made. It was about two seconds before the Nation’s Boyfriend was spotted by a keen eyed fan, a gasp escaping from some of the girls at the table who had seen him.
Peeking his head out of the door a little more, he offered a small finger wave at them, and a quiet greeting of “hi~”. Shyly, they all greeted him back, offering their own waves and versions of hello and thank you. Some of them even began tearing up, hands covering their faces to hide how emotional they were. Once he’d stepped out from the room fully and closed the door behind himself, he offered the fans a bow in a proper greeting. “Hello, I’m Han Minkyu, twentytwenty’s performance leader, it’s nice to meet you~” He was grinning from ear to ear as he spoke, his manager watching close by with a keen eye to make sure everything was going the way it was supposed to.
“It's my pleasure to invite you here, thank you for coming. I’m so excited to get to know you, and I promise I’m going to find the time to speak with each of you.” As he spoke, he finally made his way over to the vacated seats of the table, bowing once more before he pulled it out to sit down with them. The girl that had been lucky enough to choose the seat next to his looked like she too was about to cry, even more so when he made eye contact with her. The idol asked her for her name, and shook her hand gently with his the sweetest grin imaginable, squeezing her fingers between his own and kindly assuring her he wasn’t worth crying over. But, if she did cry, it was perfectly okay.
Continuing his way around the table and flashing smiles at everyone as he went, he briefly asked them about themselves, leaning forward to show that he was listening intently, and that his entire focus was on them in that moment. It was just a little something to break the ice before their meals arrived and they could ask him questions and speak to him if they so wished. Some of the guests were perfectly fine speaking to him, some of them weren’t, becoming even more emotional when his words were directed at them.
The next hour or so was... Fun. The questions he was asked were actually well thought out, once the atmosphere had settled down no one else cried, and they were all courteous of him changing seats once their meal was over so that he could spend some time with those at the other end of the table. Plus, there was going to be some sweets after if they wished to indulge. Only the best when you’re on a date with the Nation’s Boyfriend.
Eventually it was time to start wrapping up, and as sad as Kyuu was about it, he had been looking forward to it. Only because he knew this would be the time where he could spend one on one time with PS. At the end of the day, the hard work he puts in, the late hours and early mornings, and the clothes saturated with sweat after he pours his heart and soul into his practice. It was all for them. To have them look at him with hopeful, bright eyes, telling him that he’d made a difference in their lives. The fame and the money was nice, but that’s what it was really about. It was about them.
Hearing that they cared for him, that they wished for him to stay safe and healthy, and that they were proud of him always hit in a way that was unexpected. Something about hearing it from PS never failed to make his neck and his ears heat up. Almost like it felt intimate. Perhaps, he was craving those words of approval from a loved one more than he thought.
Now isn’t exactly the time to go into it.
Another of the young girls stepped forward once he was finished saying goodbye to the person before her, leaving her with a selfie of them for a memory of their time together. Opening his arms, he allowed her to embrace him, his body hunching over just a little with the action because of how much shorter than him she is. “Hello, Hyun-mi, isn’t it?” He grinned as he pulled back, taking both of her hands in his own “Thank you so much for entering, and thank you for coming. I hope you had fun. I hope I lived up to your expectations~” The last sentence was spoken with a bright smile and a laugh, clearly a joke. Although, this particular PS had something to say about it.
“Kyuu-oppa, you’ve been very busy. I hope you had enough rest during your break, you really deserve it.” The young woman paused, squeezing his fingers back. “You need to take care of yourself, because all we want is for you to be healthy and happy, and you can’t be those things if you’re exhausted. Please promise you’re not working too hard.” The idol swallowed thickly with the words, another quiet chuckle leaving his lips. It was an attempt to hide the action of breaking eye contact and looking down at his shoes for a moment, trying to brush off what she was saying as if it were something casual, and not like the words were digging into his core like knives.
The sentiment that health and happiness is more important than success and perfection is still a concept that’s foreign to Kyuu. His entire life it's been forced upon him, if you don’t succeed then you’ve wasted your time, and you simply didn’t try hard enough. Anything can be achieved with hard work, determination, and talent. The idol prided himself on having all three of those attributes. So, if he isn’t perfect, who’s fault was it really? If he’d practiced longer and harder, perhaps he would have been better. Perhaps he would have been the leader and not the performance leader. Perhaps he wouldn’t be stuck in a group with twelve other boys, overshadowed and constantly fighting for the spotlight.
The doubts in his mind can sometimes be debilitating, words echoing through his head with the voice of his mother. There were often times where he didn’t want to get out of bed, he just wanted to sleep for another hour and enjoy the comfort and warmth before he headed outside to their practice room. Again and again, day after day.
As miserable and drained as he often felt, it was his job to assure her of the exact opposite.
“Thank you so much for caring about me, I truly appreciate it,” the Nation’s Boyfriend responded in a soft tone, a hand coming up to gently cup the side of Hyun-mi’s cheek as he once again looked into her eyes. “I promise you I have been resting well.” He hadn’t. “And I promise you I am eating well, and that I am very happy.” He isn’t. “Being with you all today has made sure of that. PS, people like you, have filled me with enough happiness to last a life time. As long as I have you all cheering for me, everything I do is worth it.” Perhaps, that part was somewhat true.
Another hug was exchanged along with a selfie, and if you squinted you could possibly see the way his watery eyes glistened with the lights from the restaurant. Some would say they were sparkling because he was so handsome. Kyuu knew better than that.
More thank yous and goodbyes were given, the twentytwenty member consoling some fans who were becoming upset once again. Before he knew it, it was over. The restaurant staff were moving the tables and chairs back to their rightful homes, and his manager was telling him it’s time to go. After a thank you to all the staff that served them that day, Kyuu gathered his things and did as he was told, getting into the car that was waiting for them outside.
If anyone asked, it had been a fun, lighthearted day, a way to give back to some fans with some of his spare time. In reality, he knew it was going to keep him awake at night, causing him to stare into the dark abyss of his room, thinking over and over again about the kind words he’d heard today, and the way he would cling to them for dear life whenever he started to doubt if this was worth it.
Han Minkyu had organised a special day to give back to PS, but maybe he was the person who needed it the most.

Celestial Influence 6
Three months have passed since the disappearance of the ninja and Ninjago has been prospering- that is until villains realised there was no ninja to stop them and attacks all across the continent happened daily. Certainly the other elemental masters stepped in, some doing so reluctantly but as great as their fighting skills and powers were, they weren't the ninja's level and only hot the villain half the time. The only fighter out there that almost always got the villain was Samurai X but Pixal was only one person and the villains were many. People were torn. They still thought that they were better off without the ninja but others were tired of the high risks and damages. Without Ninjago's heros around, things became… Difficult. People lost hope. There were many who tried to find the ninja, tried to convince their old Sensei to bring them back but he couldn't help them, even if he wanted to. The ninja's locations were unknown to all but themselves. But he had confidence they would return when they were ready.
He had to.
_____________
"Ready boy?" Kai asked as he held a large ball of semi cooled lava in hand, grinning at the dragon no bigger than him that was made of red fire, scales looking like fine cracks along his skin.
Said dragon gave an affirmative growl, flicking his tail side to side as he crouched, horned wings spread wide.
"Alright." The fire elemental grinned then tossed the ball hard, leaving it to rocket into the Forest of Tranquillity.
Flare was quick to dart after it, his wings flapping quickly, leaving a trail of red fire as he caught up to the lava ball. He opened his maw, ready to catch it- when a blur of orange snatched it. Flare gave a confused sound as he looked around, hovering in place. He looked back to the Temple of Fire then noticed the orange form of his sister flying back with the ball in paw and Flare gave a protesting whine.
"Oh boy." Kai chuckled as Spark flew before him, dropping the ball then dropped on all fours, her tail wiggling eagerly as she looked at her creator, wanting praise. "That wasn't very nice Spark." He says as Flare landed then rushed over to him, burying his face into Kai's abdomen as he chittered and whined.
"See? You've made Flare upset now." Kai says, stroking the red dragon's scales, between the bumps on his head that suggested growing horns.
Spark's wings drooped at being reprimanded and seeing her brother's unhappiness. She looked down at the ball then took it up in her maw and nudged the red dragon. Flare looked back at the orange dragon then blinked once she dropped and nudged the ball towards him. Flare turned away from his creator then hesitantly turned to her. She settled on her stomach with her wings pressed flat to the ground, showing she meant no harm. He then looked at the ball then at her before walking over and sniffing at the ball. He then moved passed it and nuzzled his sister with a soft, forgiving croon that Spark eagerly returned, her tail wagging happily. Flare then picked up the ball and turned to Kai now, tail wagging eagerly, making the fire elemental chuckle.
"Good job." He praised then looked over to Spark. "You too Spark. Both of you can keep playing but don't go too far- and try not to set the forest on fire again." He told them and they chirped then took air, Flare tossing the basketball sized ball at Spark who wacked it with her tail and they both flew off to get it.
Kai shook his head fondly then walked off the bridge into the temple he's called home these past three months. He's done some renovations so it actually looked like a temple. It was one big space because walls were choresome, especially when he had no affinity for earth. The only reason he could slightly manipulate lava was because of the heat it held. He walked towards the high platform and up the golden steps there towards his bed. It was more of a very cozy nest if he were to be honest. It took a while to get the soft materials to not catch fire just from the heat of the temple but he managed. He made four separate nests at the base of the platform for the creation of his fire, his dragons. They were made when he spent his first week on his own messing around with his new powers, undergoing trial and error. His intentions were to just make fire shaped dragons, not actual dragons but he had them now and he loved them to bits. Speaking of…
"Heath, Solaris really?" Kai sighed at the blue and almost golden looking dragons that laid sprawled out in their large nest.
Solaris made a curious sound as Heath only grumbled.
"Your nests are just as big." Kai says, putting his hands on his hips. "Go on, shoo." He fanned them off, golden bracelets glinting as he did.
They grumbled but moved, climbing down into their own nests. Kai flopped down into his with a sigh, staring up at the sky through the open skylight directly over all of their nests. Rain wasn't a problem. It always evaporated before getting anywhere remotely close to the temple. The heat was that intense. Not that Kai minded or could even tell. He just knew that the volcano the temple was attached to was quite happy with his presence. It has erupted once or twice but it shows no sign of sleeping. The sky was getting darker. The sun was setting. Today was the day. Each week, they all reserved one day to give a sign that they were ok. They… His friends. The ninja.
Could they even call themselves that anymore? He didn't know. But he missed them all. He reached a hand up towards the sky, focusing his powers to send fire streaking lightly across the sky once the time was right. Then he waited. He doesn't think he'd ever get over the consequences that came with earning this power but he does know that he's willing to work towards at least trying to make it up to everyone.
A small smile tugged his lips once he notices the flashes in the sky from Jay. It was nice to know that he was alright. But he couldn't help but wonder if he really was. He was hit harder than all of them after all. He watched as the moon slowly peeked over the skylight growing full as it shone down over him. Zane was alive and well. Good. He missed the Nindroids logic and wit. Yes, he was a little upset that he hid it from them, the fact that they've taken lives but… He understood why. The full rainbow appearing around the moon brought relief to his heart. Nya was also ok. He wasn't used to being away from her for so long but they both needed a break, needed time alone. He knows that he's kinda overprotective but you can't really blame him. Not when they grew up alone. Ah… They should really check in on their parents...
The low rumble of thunder filled his ears, a clear sign Cole was thriving. He liked to imagine that wherever Cole was taking a break had cake available 24/7 but the chances of that is unlikely. He was pretty sure none of them were near any city, village or anywhere with a population. The bright aurora travel across the sky made him smile a little. Lloyd's alright too. Good. He was glad. He really didn't want to leave him alone. He was just as much of a brother to him as Nya was his sister. He sighs softly as he watched the brilliant streams of light dance on then ebb away. He missed them. He blinked once he spotted Flare out of the corner of his eyes, looking at him with big golden eyes. He turned over, looking at all four of them as they gave him large eyes before he sighed.
"Fine. You can sleep with me for the night." He caved then found himself in the middle of a dragon pipe, all four of them nuzzling him, purring happily. "Yeah, yeah. You're welcome." He smiled, stroking their snouts.
Heath lifted his head then growled, covering his body with his intense blue flames and Kai sat up, frowning as the other three followed suit, glaring at the space behind them, at the passageway below that lead to the empty back of the temple he hadn't figured out what to do with yet.
"Woah, easy. I'm a friend, not a foe." Kai gasped at the familiar voice then pushed his way forward, past his overprotective dragons.
"Cole?!" He gasped, seeing the Earth ninja standing there with two skulkin behind him.
"Kai?!" He gasped, eyes wide before he grinned. "Kai!" He yelled, running towards the fire ninja as said ninja hopped out of his nest, floating down to meet him halfway.
"Cole! Boy am I glad to see you!" Kai laughed as they hugged tightly.
"You took the words right out of my mouth! So how've yah been?" Cole asked with a grin as he pulled back to look at his friend.
"Not bad, not bad. How'd you find me though?" Kai couldn't help but ask.
"Coincidence! I use the old passageway between Ninjago and the Underworld every once in a while. I ended up there, the skulkin kinda immediately declared me their leader and I rolled with it." Cole shrugged, gesturing to his two generals Kruncha and Nukal. "They mentioned something about Garmadon but eh." He shrugged.
"The Underworld? Not bad. I forgot about that old passage. At least I know what to do with the area now. I've been living here the whole time with these guys." He says, gesturing to his dragons as all four approached, their flames low but they were still wary of the newcomers. "This is Flare, Spark, Solaris and Heath." He introduced and Cole looked over the multicolored dragons with an impressed look.
"Nice. I didn't know that more dragons lived in Ninjago." Cole says, crossing his arms.
"There aren't. I sorta made them with my powers." Kai shrugged, a grin on his face.
"Really." Cole says, intrigued. "That's pretty cool. So you're dragon king now?" He asked, gesturing to his clothes.
Kai looked down at his shirtless form with gold bracelets on his upper arms and wrists, at his dragonscale necklace, at his red ripped jeans tucked into high black boots. He adorned gold earrings and a thin circlet just under his bangs that dipped down to the middle of his forehead in a V shape. All that combined with the fur lined cape must have given him that impression.
"Er. Not exactly. I found an old mine in the forest full of gold and lava. I messed around and kinda just… Made these. Then the dragons eat animals and brought this pelt back so i thought why not? Solaris burned my shirt on accident while figuring out her powers so yeah." Kai shrugged then eyed Cole.
"So what about you Mr. Grim Reaper?" He asked with crossed arms and an arched brow.
"I thought why not go with the flow." Cole shrugged.
He adorned a black cloak that had the hood down as well as a black tank top and black skinny jeans that held several chains and glinting metal with matching combat boots to top it all off.
"I'm in the Underworld, I have a Scythe so why no dress up for the fun of it?" Cole grinned and Kai laughed.
"Good point." Kai nods. "Come on. We have a lot to catch up on." Kai gestured to a nearby stone bench and both males walked over to it.
___________
"... You should visit sometimes." Cole smiled after telling him all about his time in the Underworld.
"Probably. Spykors still give me the creeps. Especially with how big they can get." He says with a grimace stroking Heath's head as he laid his head in his lap.
"They won't bother you as long as I'm in charge, don't worry." Cole smiled, stroking the ever excitable Sparks' head, leaving her purring happily.
"Man, I still can't believe I missed you using the passageway." Kai chuckled as he leaned back against the bench.
"Well you weren't always the sharpest tool in the box." Cole chuckled.
"You didn't notice me this whole time either." Kai pointed out and Cole laughed.
"Fair point." He hummed then sat back, a comfortable silence settling between them.
That silence gave way to a mutual thought.
"I've been thinking…" Kai spoke quietly.
"That we should check up on the others?" Cole asked and Kai grinned and nodded.
"Yeah! Exactly!" He says eagerly then took Heath's face in his hands, nuzzling the dragon's snout with his nose. "I mean, three months is enough time to at least visit, right?" Kai asked, looking to Cole as Heath watched Kai unimpressed.
"I think so. The real quest would be finding everyone." Cole says, and Kai nods.
"I think the only place Zane would go is his pop's old place." Kai says, thinking aloud.
"I wanna say Jay's at his parents' junkyard but I don't think he would be there. I mean, I'm pretty sure this whole mess killed everything between me and my dad after all." Cole says sadly.
"I doubt it. If he really thinks any of what happened was willing and intensional then I'll 'talk' some sense into him." Kai says determinedly and Cole shot him a thankful smile. "Lloyd's the one we need to find. Once we do, he'll find everyone else." He told Cole who nodded.
"We can use the Aurora to find him." He told the fire nin who then frowned.
"But that means waiting a week." Kai pointed out and Cole frowned, rubbing his lightly stubbled chin.
"How about we use the week to try and find the others. If we don't then we'll find Lloyd instead." Cole suggested.
"Sounds like a plan." Kai grinned then grimaced when Heath licked his face with a forked tongue, just to be an asshole. "Heath!" He yelled as Cole laughed.
_____________
"Alright. I'll be gone for about a week but I'll be back. Heath, you're in charge." Kai told his dragons eat the next day, all but Heath looking sad to hear he was leaving. "Don't worry. I'll be back soon. Until then, don't leave the forest. There's plenty of animals in the forest for you all to eat. Stay safe, ok?" He says, stroking them all, pausing once he came to Heath, smiling at the blue dragon.
"Don't worry Heath. I know you'll miss me, no need to show it." Kai chuckled, stroking his smooth scales.
He wasn't very comfortable with leaving them alone. They were babies when he first created them and they still are, only learning how to fly a month back. He gave them all a lingering look and a heartfelt goodbye before turning to Cole.
"Let's go find Zane." He says and Kai nodded, both of them taking air.
Kai heard the goodbye calls of his dragons and felt his heart clench. Here's to getting this all done in a week.
____________
"Nice to know this place hasn't changed." Kai says, his breath coming out as fog as he and Cole walked through the Birch forest, their boots crunching in the fresh looking snow.
"Yeah." Cole agrees, keeping his ears open. "There it is." He spoke up, spotting the thicker tree.
"What's that?" Kai asked, noticing something white dart by up ahead.
"I didn't hear anything. I hope it's not those pesky treehorns again." Cole says, looking around warily.
"No. It looked like some kind of bird…" Kai says with a friend as they came to a stop before the tree house.
"My Falcon to be exact." They whirled around once an awfully familiar voice spoke then gasped, seeing Zane smiling shyly behind them in a full suit of white, his trench coat holding white fur around the hood that matched the tops of his shoes.
"Zane!" Both males yelled, rushing over to hug their friend.
Zane couldn't help his smile as he hugged them back, missing them so.
"It is good to see you friends. I had feared…" He trailed off as his smile fell.
"Ah ah! None of that crap. You're our friend and you always will be." Kai huffed but grinned as the white falcon landed on Zane's shoulder, looking like he originally did- but white with ever glowing blue eyes. "I have a feeling we have a lot to catch up on." He says lightly and the Nindroid smiled hopefully.
___________
"So wait- am I the only one who hasn't been testing out my powers?!" Cole asked as they all sat in the trunk's hollow, sipping hot cocoa.
"It appears so." Zane mused with a small smile as the Falcon sat comfortably in his nest not too far away, preening its white feathers.
"But I don't get it. No offense Zane on what I'm about to say but it's the best way I can express what I mean." Kai forewarned and Zane nods his permission. "The Falcon was just a piece of machinery on your bike. A tool even. How did it go from transformer bird to- well… Realistic bird?" He asked, confused as he set his empty cup aside.
"I can't provide you with the specifics unfortunately. I had started to feel… Lonely after a few days so I had gone to the Samurai X cave and retrieved my friend. It only reminded me that I am not particularly fond of its new design. I was hesitant to attempt to use my powers on him but I wanted him to feel like I did. To feel…" Zane struggled a moment to find the right word, meeting their eyes as he did. "Alive." He whispered with awe and both Kai and Cole shared a look, minds thinking the same thing.
They hadn't stopped to think of the physical changes their new powers may have caused though they should have. After all, Lloyd had horns when he activated his powers. Zane still looked like a Nindroid but he felt… Different, alive. They didn't feel any different. Although… Now that the topic crossed their mind, ever since Kai had unlocked these powers, there's been a warmth that has settled itself into his chest. It felt alive, flickering like flames but it was subtle enough to be easily forgotten. Cole had also felt more solid than ever. It made him feel almost invincible.
"I took that feeling and channeled it into my Falcon and it became like this." Zane finished and they smiled, happy for him at least.
"That's really cool." Cole smiled as he set his empty mug down. "I didn't think you'd have food items around being a Nindroid and all." He commented, noticing the plates neatly stacked away.
"About that… While it still isn't necessary to eat, it appears that I have somehow regained my previous abilities to consume food items. I discovered this during an internal assessment." Zane told them as he stood, taking up the cups as he stood then walked over the small sink to rinse them. "I'm curious to learn what changes these powers have brought forward in each of you physically. Certainly Lloyd has horns but something tells me the changes are much more subtle. Perhaps we could find out once we're all in one place again." He suggested and Kai grinned.
"Funny you should mention the others. We're planning on finding everyone. It'll be just a checkup but if we're all in agreement, we can be a team again." He shrugged and Zane looked hopeful.
"To be honest, I… I have missed you all. I'd very much like to be a team once more… If everyone else is in agreement…" He says with a one shouldered shrug, not very confident they would want him with them still.
Not after how he had lied…
"Heck yeah!"
"Of course!" Were Kai and Cole's immediate responses, a grin adorning both of their faces.
"We just need to find the others. Nya and Jay. We'll find Lloyd whenever he uses his aurora again." Cole says, resting his cheek in his hand.
"Nya and Jay…" Zane says in consideration. "I doubt Jay would stay at his parent's place but it's the only place I could think of. I'm positive he wouldn't be anywhere near New Ninjago City." He says and Kai nods.
"We were thinking that too. Doesn't hurt to check…" He shrugged and Zane nodded.
"But first, I should get us something to eat. I hope you don't mind. I've picked up hunting a little for meals." He pointed out and Kai grinned, showing off sharp fangs Zane didn't miss.
"Well what do you know? So have I…" He hummed, summoning one of his sword.
____________
"Mmm! I won't lie, I've missed your cooking Zane." Cole grinned as he leaned back, stomach pleasantly full.
"And I won't lie. I missed cooking for my friends." Zane smiled as his Falcon preened itself from his own meal.
He seems to like the fact he's able to function and eat like a true bird of prey. He enjoys hunting a lot and often spares Zane from hunting by bringing back ninja rabbits and more.
"We might as well hunker down for the night. We'll go out looking for Jay and Nya tomorrow." Kai says, taking the plates to the small kitchenette on reflex.
He was always after Zane in the plate duties.
"Uh. I'm not sure the bed can hold." Cole says, looking down at the bed they were using as a couch.
"Oh I don't sleep up here." Zane says and they turned to look at him.
"Up here?" Both Cole and Kai asked him at the same time.
The Falcon squawked as it flew out from his perch then landed on the ground in the middle of the room. It then pecked the ground and a circular piece of the floor sunk down before the ground began to collapse down into a spiral staircase supported by ice.
"Woah." Cole says as he stood then headed down, awing at the huge room filled with ice and crystals.
There was a work table at one corner, a small library in the other, a sort of living space everywhere else and two different sets of birch doors on opposite sides of the walls.
"The door to the right leads to the bathroom and the one to the left leads to the sleeping areas." Zane informed Cole as he came down the steps, Cole looking around in awe.
"This place is way cool…" Cole says in awe as he walked over to the large white couch that had a light gray fur blanket thrown over the back. "How did you even afford all of this?" He asked Zane, looking to the Nindroid who only smiled secretively.
"I have my ways." He says lightly.
"Woah. This is epic. Makes my Fire Temple look like nothing!" Kai says as he came down as well, drying his hands still.
"Actually, I'd say your fire temple would be slightly above Zane's place here but only because of the gold and red scheme." Cole says lightly, flopping down on the couch. "What are the chances of you having a TV?" Cole asked, sitting in an actual couch making him realise how much he missed the device.
"It's certain." Zane says, picking up the remote from the ice table before it and pressing a button.
A panel in the ground shifted back and the flat screen tv came up, turning on once it was fully out.
"No seriously. Where do you get the money for this?" Kai asked, flopping down next to Cole as he accepted the remote.
"Well…" Zane says, thinking back to when he first arrived, distraught to see the forest with barely an inch of snow.
He had rectified that immediately with a snowstorm but the lack of thick snow revealed bits of valuable rock crystals he broke from the soil and stone…
"Let's just say I got lucky." He says, walking past them to pick up the small piece he kept for himself then tossed it towards them.
Cole caught it without looking then brought it into his line of sight.
"Oh. Nice." He says, looking over the clear crystal with Kai and Zane smiles.
____________
"See if you can find the others." Zane told his Falcon the next day and the ivory bird of prey squawked then flew off from Zane's arm, taking air and flying far.
"With the Falcon, we should be able to find everyone quicker." Cole says as he and Kai walked over. "Who knows? Maybe he'll find Lloyd." He grinned.
"For some reason, I don't think finding Lloyd will be that easy." Kai says and Zane nodded his agreement.
"We should get going. We have a long journey ahead of us." Zane says and they nod, taking flight themselves.
____________
"Ah. Now that I'm here, I'm kinda nervous…" Cole says as they walked towards the junkyard.
"I know what you mean." Kai says with a weak laugh.
"All we can do is put our faith in their understanding." Zane says, being the pillar they needed as support, despite his unstableness.
He too feared how they would react, feared even more Jay wouldn't be as forgiving as Kai and Cole.
"Let's get this over with." Kai says, lifting his chin stubbornly and Cole nods, all of them quickening their steps as they walked into the junkyard.
The first thing he noticed was Edna seated outside knitting as Ed worked on something close by. Edna lifted her head then saw them and gasped, all hut scrambling out of her chair towards them, startling the three.
"Where is he? Where's my Jay?!" She asked them urgently and their spirits fell, realising that he really wasn't there.
"Actually, we were hoping you could tell us. We're looking for him ourselves." Cole says quietly, wincing once tears welled up in Edna's eyes.
"Oh Edna…" Ed says as he walked over, pulling her into a hug as she cries into his shoulder. "He hasn't stopped by. We've been hoping he would after everything that happened but…" The elderman gave a sigh.
"He will visit." Zane spoke up and they all looked to him. "If not on his own then we'll bring him. We'll find him and bring him back to you." He reassured, walking forward to rest a comforting hand on Ed's free shoulder.
"You-" Edna paused to hiccup. "You will?" She asked him hopefully.
"It's a promise." Kai says before Zane could and they all nodded their agreement.
"When you do find him, tell him…" Ed says then took a breath. "Tell him we know. But he isn't to blame." He says quietly and Cole's back stiffened at his sincere words.
"It's none of your faults. You're all ninja. You would never have let what happened happen if you had control over it." Edna says and Ed nodded. "It may not mean much from us but… You're all still the ninja we know and love." She managed a smile, brushing stray tears away.
"You know it!" Ed grinned but their words really did impact all three of them hard.
They didn't believe it. Won't for a very long time if ever but… Having two persons that believed in them still was...
"It means more than you think." Cole says, managing a smile. "Thank you. We'll bring Jay back. Don't worry." He reassured them and the elderly couple nodded, smiles bright and full of hope.
With that, the three took off again to continue their search. They may not have the slightest clue to where Jay was but that won't stop them from fulfilling their promise.
__________
An entire day had passed with no signs of anyone but they didn't stop searching, going anywhere with a remote chance that any member from the other half of their team would be. They did run into a familiar two in a remote village however.
"Hold it." Ash says, appearing before the three. "Cole, Zane, Kai." He immediately identified and they looked at him wide eyed.
Despite their hoods being down and despite the hat Kai snatched along the way, they were still easily spotted.
"Oh? Interesting to see you three here." Shade commenting, appearing from the shadows himself. "What are your plans now? Rip the village apart with your earth powers? Freeze it? Burn it to the ground?" He all but accused and all of them looked hurt at that.
"Look pal. We didn't do any of that on purpose. You don't even know our side of the story!" Kai huffed, glaring Shade down.
"Defensive aren't we?" Shade says, lifting a brow.
"So what? You accidentally ripped Ninjago apart and caused continent wide destruction?" Ash snarked and Cole tried not to let his words hit him too deep but it was hard…
A low rumble echoed as a slight tremor passed through, alarming the other two elementals and putting them on edge.
"Watch it Cole, we'll put you down if we have to." Shade says, narrowing his eyes.
"You've already put me down." Cole says, half-heartedly glaring at him.
"Look. Clearly this village hasn't seen hide not tail of the others. Let's go before I do something I'll regret." Kai ssys, shooting the element masters a glare.
"We aren't intentional enemies. Right now, we just want our friends back." Zane says quietly before they took off, soaring through the sky with their cloak, cape and coat fluttering behind them.
"Ugh of course they'd think we did this all on purpose. They won't even consider things from our side!" Kai growled, frustratedly as he began to glow red with his anger and hurt.
"We can't let them get to us Kai. We know the truth. It may not be much but we have each other to lean on, even if all of Ninjago turns its back on us." Zane says, looking at them both.
"Yeah…" Cole says softly, keeping his eyes ahead. "It's not much but…"
He looked across at his friends, his brothers and managed a genuine smile.
"It's enough." He whispered.
___________
"Where else can we look?" Cole asked later on as they took a break for a snack as the sunset.
"I'm not sure." Zane says, frowning. "We've checked everywhere we could think of that they would most likely and unlikely to be. Despite our powers, tracking down one of our own is not an easy task." He says, leaning back as Cole and Jay slurped their noodles.
"Tell me about it." Kai says after swallowing. "If o-" Kai cut himself off once he noticed rain starting to fall.
"Oh? But there's no cloud in the sky." Zane says with a frown, reaching a hand out to touch the rain seeming to fall around them.
"Wait a minute…" Cole says as Kai's eyes widened.
"Nya?!" Kai asked eagerly, looking around to see if she was there.
"Who?" A guy asked as he paused in his walk by the cliff on the outskirts of Hiroshi's Labyrinth, holding an umbrella.
"Oh. Sorry, not you." Cole apologised, as disappointed as Zane was.
Kai on the other hand looked at the figure carefully then smirked.
"You'll have to try harder than that to fool me Nya." He huffed, confusing his friends.
The male chuckled, his voice rising in pitch and becoming feminine, clearly belonging to Nya.
"I should have known you'd see through me big brother." She says, shifting back to her true looks.
She adorned a close fitting dark blue bodysuit that only had one sleeve and a semi-transparent lighter blue material over it that parted at her covered stomach, extending backwards as a short trail. The bodysuit ended mid thigh on her body as she wore blue matching slippers that criss crossed up her strong calves. She even added several small but colourful seashells to her clothes as well as her hair.
"Nya!" Kai grinned, scrambling to his feet to hug his sister.
"Long time no see." Nya grinned, hugging him back.
"Indeed. But, how did you find us?" Zane asked as he and Cole approached the duo.
"A little birdie gave me a tip. White looks good on the little fella." Nya says as she and Kai pulled back.
"Here's to hoping he finds Jay along the way." Cole says, hugging her too and she smiled then paused.
"You haven't found Jay? Are you trying to get everyone back together?" She asked them.
"No, we haven't found him as yet. Locating everyone is a means of checking up… And an opportunity to become ninja again if we're all willing." Zane told her and Nya frowned.
"That's strange. I thought out of all of us, he'd be the easiest to find." She says then frowned, recalling the moment they split. "Then again…" She whispered to herself.
"We'll find him. Then we'll find Lloyd and we'll all be a unit again." Kai reassures her and she smiled at him.
"... Still gold crazy I see." She says dryly and Kai sputtered.
"It's a very compliant metal." He huffed defensively and she laughed along with the others.
"It's dark. We should probably find somewhere to settle down for the night." Zane spoke as he looked towards the sea where the sun had disappeared.
"You guys can stay with me." Nya says, intriguing them. "Follow me." She urged, taking flight.
__________
"I'd never even consider here." Cole says as Nya lead them inside her humble cave-esque abode at the Spirit Coves.
"Exactly." She says then flicked the lights on.
Naturally the massive underground sea carved cave looked like the Samurai X cave but noticeably homier. To one side of the cave, there was completed vehicles and gadgets, at another was blueprints, tools and half finished projects and at the final corner had a cozy living space with a couch set, TV, kitchen and a discreet bedroom hidden by curtains, all placed around pools of seawater that no doubt lead out to the sea. The shells and sea plants made it more appealing to the eye however.
"I don't have spare beds but the couches are big enough and comfortable enough to hold you guys." She says as she headed towards the living space to her right.
"Forget that! Are those new mechs?!" Kai says, leaping over the large pool of water to land on the display platform of the uncoloured mech.
"Yeah. But they aren't for us. We don't need them. Not with these powers." Nya says, changing course to head over to where he was, Zane and Cole following her.
"Then… Who are they for?" Cole asked her as they all stood before the mech.
"The other elementals." She says quietly. "They had to take our place and I've seen first hand that it isn't easy. So I thought I'd use my skills to help them instead." She shrugged and Kai gave her shoulder a squeeze, giving her a proud smile she returned.
"That's a great idea Nya. Once we round Jay and Lloyd up, you bet we'll help you and them out too." Kai says, grinning at his friends when they agreed.
"Anyone up for seafood?" She asked after a moment.
"I thought you'd never ask." Cole grinned and they all laughed.
___________
Three days have passed with the four looking everywhere they could for Jay and even with Nya's help gadget wise, they were out of luck. They couldn't find any signs of Jay. It was as if he had fallen off the map. It made them… Worried. But they never gave up. They started each day with determination. Kai, Cole and Zane made a promise to his parents they intended to keep.
"Ok, so he's not at the lightning farm. Where else haven't we checked?" Cole asked them.
"We've already covered the entire northern half of the continent with no success. The southern remains." Zane informed him and Cole only nods, refusing to let frustration take him.
"Alright. While Lloyd would probably be able to find him quickly, let's not give up. His parents are still waiting to see him after all and I'll be damned if I break my promise to them." Kai says determinedly.
"If we split up, we-"
"Hold on." Zane says, cutting Nya off as his eyes glowed even brighter.
They watched him as he remained quiet and assessing before finally speaking.
"My Falcon found him." He says and they gasped.
"Well what are we waiting for?! Let's go!" Cole says, lifting off his feet.
"Right. Keep your eyes sky bound. He's resting on a cloud over central Ninjago, just a few short miles away." Zane says, taking flight as well, leading the way.
______
Jay yawned as he laid on a beanbag sized cloud, his legs and arms hanging off but he doesn't really care. He ran out of things to do and explore quick. He's been drifting around on random clouds just because, switching to another whenever the original dissipates. He pushed back his curly hair from his face as he passed under a slightly higher cloud, really appreciating the coolness that passed over him.
I should probably wear sunscreen…
Though he knew he didn't have to. He's been floating around on clouds for about a month now and the sun hadn't changed his skin tone or burned him in anyway. Sure with his outfit; a blue sleeveless turtleneck shirt pulled over slightly darker blue leggings with a waist cape and blue combat boots, coveted him plenty but his arms were still pretty much exposed. He knew he didn't have to but it was a sort of reflex thought for him.
Once the cloud passed, he blinked, realising there was a tiny white cloud circling him from above. No. Wait. That's a bird. Weird. Why was it circling him? He sat up then stood on the cloud, frowning as he looked up at it. He blinked once it swooped down, letting out a very familiar squawk.
"... The Falcon?" Jay whispered but shook his head.
That can't be right. The Falcon isn't white and it looked far more… Mecha than that. But it really does look like it. Is it? He stuck his arm out, blinking once the falcon landed on it, looking at him with a tilted head, eyes unnaturally blue and mechanical upon closer view. Oh yeah. It's the Falcon.
"Hey buddy! Woah! You sure did get an upgrade!" Jay says, looking him over and the Falcon puffed its feathers up proudly.
Jay laughed then stroked the soft feathers of its head- then blinked as something came to mind.
"Hey. If you're here, then-"
"Jay!" He blinked then turned around- only to be tackled into a hug, a startled yelp leaving him. "Oh man! I was actually getting worried we wouldn't find you!" Cole laughed as Jay gathered his bearings from his crushing hug.
"Cole?! What are you doing here?!" Jay finally managed to sputter out.
"Looking for you obviously." Kai huffed with a grin and Jay looked over Cole's shoulder to see him, Zane and Nya floating over.
"You guys… But… I don't get it. What are you doing here?" He asked as Cole finally let him go.
"We wanted to check in on you." Kai says, pulling him into a hug and Jay blinked but hugged back.
"You're surprisingly hard to find, you know that, right?" Nya says, hugging him as well.
"Not intentionally." Jay says sheepishly, shock giving away to happiness. "Man, I missed you guys." He admitted, not even realizing how lonely he was until now.
"Missed you too yah nerd." Cole laughed as they all came in for a group hug.
"We also came to fulfil a promise we made." Zane spoke up and Jay looked to him curiously.
"Yeah." Kai nods. "You see, while we were looking for you, we checked in with your parents to see if they would know…" His voice tuned out to Jay as mortification filled him.
"I can't!" Jay says, cutting off Kai's explanation. "I can't see them! Are you crazy?! Not when I've- I've-!" He sputtered then gripped his arm tightly as he looked away.
The group shared a concerned look.
"It's not like that Jay." Cole says softly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "They know, of course they do but they know it's not your fault. That it's not any of our faults." He told him but Jay scoffed, not believing that.
'When you do find him, tell him…' Jay's head jolted up to hear his father's voice.
He looked to Zane, watching as he projected a hologram of his parents before them. He noticed his mother, Edna and how sad she looked. How sad they both looked. It squeezed his heart painfully.

Kiss Of Reluctance: Chapter 1) Moment Of Miscommunication
The Core Four has just arrived at the lodge cabin, up in Shadow Lake. They all got out of the car and paired off. Betty with Veronica, and Archie with Jughead.
"Wow, this is amazing V," Betty says, admiring the cabin's outside appearance.
"If you think this is impressive, wait till you see the inside," Veronica replied, grinning at her bestie. The raven Haired Princess turns towards the driver. "We'll see you at 7 P.M. on Sunday, Andre. And not a moment sooner," she reminded him, leaving no room for opposition.
The driver nodded to his boss's daughter, and turned to the red-head. "Mister Andrews, May I have a word?"
"Uh, Yeah sure what's up?" Archie turned and met the man a considerable distance from the others. He had a feeling Andre didn't want anyone to overhear their conversation.
"I just wanted to inform you that I will be sticking around. Hiram's orders," he explained when he noticed the confused look on the teen's face.
"Okay. Why are you telling me? Wouldn't it be easier for you to go unnoticed if none of us were aware of your presence."
"That's true, but you're rather impulsive. So I thought it best if at least you knew," the man answered honestly.
"Gee, thanks," Archie deadpanned.
"Come on Archiekins. We need your help with our bags," Veronica called out, getting impatient.
"Yeah, alright Ronnie! I'm coming," the red-head replied, rolling his eyes. Archie met up with the rest of the gang, grabbing the girls bags, and following behind Jughead.
"This place is certainly something, Princess," Jughead remarked with a small grin, walking into the cabin, and giving it a brief once over.
"Only the best for my friends and I," the girl responded with a proud smile. "After all we Lodges are known to go above and beyond, Jones."
"I'll say." Betty smiled at her friend. "Thanks again for inviting us on this little vacation, Veronica."
"Of course, B," Veronica replied, grinning at the blonde. "Now, the rooms are all upstairs. Archie's and I's is the first on the left, and Betty and Jughead. Yours will be the first room on the right." She gestured toward the staircase at the back of the room.
"Sounds go-" Betty was cut off by the sound of a phone ringing. They all turned to the beanie wearing teen, who was looking rather sheepish due to the interruption.
"Sorry. I'll just take this outside." He grabbed his phone from his pocket and walked out onto the porch.
"Enjoying your lovers weekend," came the voice on the other side of the line.
"Who is this?"
"It's Cheryl, you hobo," the red head replied, annoyance clear in her tone.
Jughead let out a huge sigh at the interruption. "What do you want Cheryl?"
She sounded much more cheery this time around. "I just thought I should let you know that Betty and Archie shared a kiss in my driveway over the Christmas season. And It looked pretty serious. Like with tongue serious." She smiled into her reflection, wiping some of the extra lipstick off her face. "Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of your little getaway, ciao!" She hung up, Leaving the Jones boy in stunned silence.
The other three friends were curious, so they followed him outside. Jughead turned towards all of them, an unreadable expression on his face.
"Juggie? What's the matter?"
"That was Cheryl," Jughead replies to his Girlfriend. She said that you and Archie kissed in front of her house over Christmas break." The boy looked at the aforementioned pair, hoping to find confusion. A sure sign that the self appointed queen of their school was just screwing with him out of spite for not being invited to join them. Instead he found identical looks of guilt and on the faces of his girlfriend and best friend. Veronica's face displayed confusion. But not of ignorance of the incident, but because she thought he already knew. A hurt look spread across his face, but it disappeared as soon as it came. He scoffed and began to walk out of the cabin.
Betty ran after him. "Jug wait, it was just a spur of the moment. It didn't mean anything," the blonde explained, trying to reason with her boyfriend.
"I am not mad that you kissed him. We were broken up." Jughead sighed in frustration. "But I had asked you if anything happened with anyone while we were apart, and you lied. Even after I told you about Toni."
Betty sighed in frustration. Can't anything ever just go smoothly for them? "I didn't tell you, cause I thought you'd overreact."
Jughead grinned at her in response. "You're right Betty. I am completely overreacting." He shook his head emphatically, as if getting rid of all his misgivings. "I mean you only kissed the boy that you were completely in love with up until about 2 months ago. That shouldn't make me upset at all," Jughead finished, shooting his girlfriend a look of total disappointment.
Now Betty was the one getting angry. "So you are mad that I kissed him!!"
"No! I am not angry because you kissed someone. I'm upset because that person was Archie," Jug reasoned. "My best friend, and I like I mentioned before, the guy you were pining for not too long ago. Do you have any idea of how that makes me feel?" The look of hurt appeared once more.
Betty's eyes were glistening with  tears. " I'm so sorry Jug. I never meant to hurt you. It was just a stupid thing that happened on impulse. I promise, it'll never happen again."She was full on crying now, the blonde’s sobs causing her whole body to shake uncontrollably.
Jughead hated seeing her cry, and it didn't matter whether she was at fault or not. So he walked back to his girlfriend, and wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, resting his head on hers. Her hands came to lay upon his chest, and her body relaxed as he kept whispering soothing assurances that "it was all gonna be okay." He rubbed her back up and down. "It's fine I am not gonna let this one incident come between us."
Whatever doubt Betty had of his claims was soon crushed, as he lifted her chin with his finger, cupping her face in both hands and kissed her softly, but passionately. "So, we're good?"
He gave her a small smile in return. "Yeah, were good." The Jones boy paused for a moment. Looking deep into her eyes. "I love you Betty. I refuse to let my own insecurities get in the way of our relationship."
The girl next door smiled up at him, her eyes still glossy due to the tears she had shed. "I love you too, Juggie." She kissed him once more.
With Archie and Veronica
The other half of the group had gone up to their room, not wanting to invade on the young sweethearts.
"So Jughead hadn't known about the kiss this whole time?" Veronica asked, truly shocked that Betty had never told him. Archie had told her almost right away. Granted, he was sort of backed into a corner by Cheryl's manipulations, but still. How could Betty not tell him?
"I guess not." Archie was just as surprised as his girlfriend.
"Do you think they are going to be okay?"
"Yeah, totally." The red-head grinned at her. "Even if they break up, you know they are just gonna get back together again. They always do." He wasn't worried. Jug and Betty had already broken up at least twice in the last few months, alone. And they always seemed to be able to work it out.
Veronica thought about that for a moment. She had to say she agreed, but she also wondered what would happen if Jughead did break up with Betty, for good this time. Would he stop hanging out with the three of them, and devote all his time to the serpents? Or would he focus even more of his efforts on stopping her father's plans, now that he didn't have to worry about maintaining a relationship? Then there was Betty. Would she start to have feelings for Archie again? Did she ever actually stop in the first place? Veronica shook her head of those thoughts. No, she scolded herself internally. This was supposed to be a fun weekend away from all the crap that was happening in Riverdale. She was determined to make the best of it. Whatever tension was left between them, The Lodge was gonna put a stop to it, and Veronica had the perfect plan for how to do it.
Archie noticed that Veronica had been spacing out. "Ronnie, are you alright?" He brought her attention back to him.
"Yeah, Sorry, I was just thinking about something."
"What is it?"
She waved her hand at him dismissively. "Nothing. It's not important."
Time Skip (Night)
The Core Four were all gathered in the Lodge's huge living room, sipping on Jalapeno Margaritas. Jughead was with Betty on the couch and Archie and Veronica were sitting on the surrounding chairs. The Jones boy was questioning Veronica about her Father, and the blonde was having none of it. "Come on Jug. You said you wouldn't do this," she exclaimed, frowning at her boyfriend.
He shot her what he thought was a subtle glare, but relented nonetheless. "Fine," He huffed in frustration.
Veronica, who was watching the whole exchange, noticed the look. And she thought that this would be the perfect time for her plan. "So I'm sensing some residual tension. I'm guessing from Cheryl's random act of cruelty earlier?"The Girl leans towards the pair.
The teens in question gave her similar looks of confusion. "What? No." They both replied.
Veronica on the other hand was not going to let their denial get in the way. "Fear you not." She flashed them all a mischievous smile. "For I have the perfect antidote. Clothes off, swimsuits on."
Looks of confusion and apprehension were shared between the remaining three, but in the end, they followed along with the raven-haired mob princess anyway.
Time skip (Jacuzzi)
Betty and Jughead were already in the water on one side. Betty had her Margarita in her hand, her tongue dipping into the glass. While Archie was standing up on the other side, waiting on Veronica. After a few moments, the girl came out of the cabin, walking onto the patio with a white silk robe wrapped around her. The raven-haired princess removed the robe, and allowed Archie to guide her into the water. Both of them sitting down opposite of the other two teens.
Veronica grabbed her drink and took a sip through the straw before putting her plan into place. "So when Archie first told me about the kiss, I was upset." She glanced around the pool of water. "But I absorbed it, and now I bear no ill will toward my beau, nor my bestie," she assured, reaching her hand out to momentarily rest on Betty's shoulder, and giving a glance to the boy behind her. "But has the thought of it still haunted me sometimes? Truthfully, yes." Veronica gestured to Betty and Jughead. "And now you guys are caught up in the aftermath."
Betty's Apprehension had reached a whole new level. She had a feeling that the other girl was planning something, and didn't like where her mind was going at the thought.
On the other hand, Jughead and Archie had no idea what was going on. And were both looking on with curiosity.
"So to clear the air between us," Veronica started up again. She glanced one more at the group, the mischievous grin displayed on her face once more. "Jughead and I... should kiss." After that she took another sip of her drink, looking around to gauge the reactions of her three friends.
"What!?" Archie exasperated in shock. That definitely wasn't what he expected her to say. The red-head turned to her. "Veronica, are you nuts?"
The socialite noticed the look of disbelief. But she just shrugged it off, not really caring at the moment.
Jughead let out a small laugh and smirked at the interaction between the pair. "Now wait a minute." He stands up to face the three. "Veronica and I kissing could help too... What's the sports term Archie?" He smirked at his oldest friend. "Level the playing field," he finished with his hands on his hips.
"But you're not upset Jug?"
"No. I'm not upset." He gave his Girlfriend a look of assurance.
The Cooper girl was doubting the statement now. "Right."
"But I'm human," he reasoned. "What if something happens between us and we get into a fight? In my anger, I might use your kiss with Archie as an excuse for whatever is going on between us."
Betty seemed to actually be considering what he was saying.
"So if I were to kiss Veronica, whatever anger I might have at the potential situation would be misplaced." The Jones boy turned toward his best friend, who was still looking shocked and a little angry. "Come on Archie. It's just a stupid kiss... right?" He says, reminding the red-head of the blondes and his excuse for the incident.
Veronica was having a hard time keeping her laughter in check. It seemed Jughead was on board. Which would make this whole thing a lot easier. She stood up as well, moving to stand next to him.
The cocky smirk on Jughead's face vanished instantly.
Veronica grabbed his face. "Jughead. Don't freak out. Just trust me." She began to lean up to kiss him, but was stopped by Jughead's arms on hers pushing her back. A look of confusion crossed her features.
"Veronica, no stop." He shot her a look that shut down any attempt she would have made to go through with her scheme.
"But, I thought-"
"That I was serious?" A look of incredulousness broke out across his face. " I was kidding. I would never actually do that. I just wanted to mess with Archie a little."
"Oh," Veronica replied dumbfounded. She didn't know what else to say. To be honest, she should have expected this outcome. Jughead wasn't the kind of person to act out in spite. It was actually one of the things she admired about him. But then the other part of her, the more irrational side had started thinking of reasons why he wouldn't kiss her. Did he think she was unattractive. Her feminine wiles seem to work on every straight guy except for him. She was suddenly very self-conscious. The girl looked back up at him. Veronica never realized how tall he was. He practically towered over her, even more so than Archie. Now looking into his eyes, she noticed how blue they really were. The Girl was stuck by the realization that he was actually quite handsome. She could finally see why Toni and Betty were attracted to him. Veronica shook her head of those thoughts however. "I'm so sorry. You're right. I never should have suggested it." The girl shot him a small smile. "After all, two wrongs don't make a right." She turned away from him and sat back down next to her boyfriend, curling up into his side, and continued to sip her drink.
Jughead noticed the twin expressions of relief on his other two friend's faces. "Come on guys. Did you really think I would do that you?"
"I don't know, Jug," Archie responded with a guilty look on his face, feeling ashamed that he ever doubted his friend. "You made a pretty solid argument."
The blonde nodded in agreement. "He's right Jug." Betty also looked ashamed. "You even made me believe you were serious."
"I guess I figured that my two best friends would be able to see right through it anyway," Jughead replied, sitting back down next to his girlfriend.
After the moment faded, an awkward silence passed over the group. No one knew what to say or do next.
To be continued
That's the first chapter. Tell me how you guys liked it. It was my first time writing a romance fan-fiction, so constructive feedback is much appreciated.
Now this is going to start like the show with Bughead and Varchie as the main ships, but eventually, it'll gradually shift into A Jeronica story. I know the official name is Vughead, but I like Jeronica more. Vughead sounds similar to Bughead in my opinion.
Now I am not sure how long this story Is going to be. But if you guys keep showing me that You are interested in it, I will continue for as long as I can.
Have A great day.

I wrote a fic for @garashirweek day 7 (AUs)! You can find it here on ao3, or read down below! Apologies in advance for the uh liberties I’ve taken with canon, but it had to be done for the human AU to work.
Title: Anyone Who Knew Anything
Rating: Gen
Summary: Anyone who was at all familiar with Fontaine’s Cafe recognized Doctor Julian Bashir and his lunch companion, Mr. Elim Garak- their regular literature debates are the main draw of business to Fontaine’s over the middle of the day. The hidden truths of their relationship, too, are well-known to those who watch them.
i. a most interesting new friend
Though he’d only been practicing medicine in the area for four months, anyone who knew anything about Fontaine’s Cafe recognized Doctor Julian Bashir. He came in for lunch there nearly every day of the week, unless a pressing medical emergency barred him, and everyone had the dubious pleasure of talking with him at least once. The man was gregarious, with a sunny smile and awkward charm, but he was plagued by an inability to ever, ever shut up that was amusing at best and mildly abrasive at worst. Despite that, Dr. Bashir was cautiously well-liked by Fontaine’s lunch crowd. That was why, when Elim Garak stepped into the cafe, glanced around briefly, and then made a beeline for the doctor, a startled and rather concerned hush fell over all assembled.
Anyone who knew anything about Fontaine’s also knew of Elim Garak. He was a tailor, owned a shop across the road, and his wares were top-notch. But nobody trusted him. His movements were just a little too smooth and his mind was a little too clever for him to just be a tailor like he always insisted, and conversation with him felt like a battle that he always won. Rumor had it the man was from Cardassia, though his accent would never give it away, and if you caught the barkeep at just the right time she’d tell you that rumor also had it that he couldn’t go back. Everyone in the know gave him a wide berth, just in case, though nobody had bothered to warn the doctor to do the same. Sometimes talking to the doctor was difficult, as politeness seemed to fly completely over his head, and nobody wanted to be caught gossiping about the tailor, just in case. Garak never visited Fontaine’s during the lunch hour, anyway, so why bother?
The restaurant watched, near silent, as the tailor approached the doctor. On his part, Bashir was completely unaware, engrossed in a massive old book with a faded cover that nobody in Fontaine’s could recognize from a hole in the wall. The doctor’s literature habit was the only thing that could ever get him to stop talking, and the lunch crowd usually was grateful to see the doctor arrive with a book tucked under his arm. His favorites weren’t always in the mood for conversation, but saying no to him was difficult. “Like kicking a puppy,” everyone agreed.
Garak stopped next to the doctor’s table and stared down at him. He seemed to have forgotten his food in favor of reading- Bashir’s customary sandwich, ham and cheddar on wheat, sat on a plate pushed off to the side with only one bite missing, and his glass of iced tea was untouched and sweating condensation across the table.
He read on, oblivious, and Garak quirked a brow. “Excuse me,” he said, mild, and the doctor damn near jumped out of his skin.
All around the restaurant, patrons stifled their amusement as the doctor blinked in confusion and swung his gaze around to Garak, whose smirk could be mistaken for a smile. “Oh dear me. I do hope I’m not disturbing you overmuch.”
The doctor searched uselessly for something to say and, after a long moment of opening and closing his mouth, gave up. It was the first time anyone in Fontaine’s had ever seen him lost for words.
“I couldn’t help but notice,” the tailor continued, politely ignoring the doctor’s floundering, “that you enjoy classic literature, much like myself.” Then he paused for a moment and gasped, eyes comically wide. “Where are my manners? I am-”
“Mr. Garak,” Dr. Bashir interrupted, eager to finally get a word in. “I’ve heard of you- your clothes are quite good, if anyone trusts you enough to step foot in your shop.”
Sharp inhales and murmurs of dismay echoed around the restaurant, though nobody groaned louder at the tactless statement than the doctor himself. He slapped a hand over his mouth and shook his head, immediately apologetic, and everyone could see him flushing behind his hands. Luckily, the tailor didn’t appear to be offended, as he simply chuckled and took a seat in the chair across the table from the doctor. The contrast between them was striking- the doctor, wearing rumpled scrubs and sprawled over his chair, and the prim and proper tailor, sitting neatly upright.
“I see my reputation precedes me. But I am a simple tailor, nothing more.” Then Garak gestured to the book that sat open on the table. “Tell me, doctor, what is your opinion of the narrator’s preference for the color blue?”
Dr. Bashir, and indeed everyone in Fontaine’s, blinked in confusion. But the doctor rallied, rambling for nearly five minutes about the book that nobody else in the restaurant had ever heard of.
Then Garak raised a brow and demolished the doctor’s analysis in three neat sentences.
The doctor’s jaw dropped, face the absolute image of outrage. “Now you see here, Mr. Garak!” he protested, and they spent the next three quarters of an hour embroiled in a passionate argument over the book on the table as the rest of the cafe looked on in a potent mixture of abject confusion and extreme interest. The two of them left together, still bickering, and as soon as the doors swung shut behind them the restaurant burst into a flurry of conversation.
ii. waiting games
Before anyone knew it, the doctor and the tailor had established a pattern. Once a week they met for lunch and discussed literature, though their discussions really were mostly arguments. The rest of the usual crowd at Fontaine’s established a pattern too- one of observation. Something in the tailor seemed to loosen, just a little, when he was with the doctor, and somehow the doctor’s roughest edges were blunted by the tailor. They sat at their favorite table, in the warm glow of the sun, and argued, blind to the watchful eyes and ears of the restaurant. Occasionally Bashir was detained by his patients and arrived late or not at all, interrupting his own routine, and the tailor’s analysis was particularly cutting those days, displeasure plain to those accustomed to looking.
Rumors spread, like always, but nobody knew anything conclusive. Despite the emotions that flitted constantly across the doctor’s face, he was remarkably difficult to read properly, and it seemed nobody but the doctor himself could even begin to comprehend Mr. Garak.
Someone suggested that maybe that was evidence enough, but he was quickly shushed by the rest of the lunch crowd. They would all know it when they saw it, but not a second before then.
iii. sunshine
Dr. Bashir was a perpetual optimist, always seeing the best in characters and their motives and arguing doggedly for happy, or at least hopeful, endings. Mr. Garak, by contrast, was only ever able to see gloom and doom in the novels he and his lunch companion read.
“My dear doctor,” he would say, and the barkeep would add a mark to the official tally. “You are entirely too generous.”
“My dear Mr. Garak,” Bashir would rebut, smile shining in the summer sun, and up crept the tally again. “You’re far too much a miser. But don’t worry- I can change that.”
iv. close encounters
“I must confess,” said Garak, like the words were being pulled from him beyond his control, “I find myself agreeing- this tale does, indeed, end well for the leading lady and her suitor.”
Bashir beamed and reached across the table for Garak’s hand, and to everyone’s shock, the tailor actually allowed it.
v. shadows
The next week, Garak waited nearly three hours for Bashir to arrive, and the furrow between his brows grew deeper and deeper as each minute passed. The light of the sun, which usually fell evenly over their regular table, had completely abandoned Garak by the time he gave up and stormed back to his tailoring shop.
He left his book behind.
vi. dashed
The barkeep scooped up the book for safekeeping in the lost and found behind the bar. Curious, she flipped through the novel, just to see if she could understand or even enjoy the dense literature the doctor and tailor argued over so passionately.
“Oh no,” she breathed. Page after page was annotated in Garak’s spidery hand, pointing out symbols of hope. The final annotation, a particularly long paragraph at the end of the last page of the novel, was scribbled out with dark black ink, as if it had personally offended the tailor with its mere existence, and the barkeep couldn’t help but wonder at the dashed possibilities.
vii. do no harm
Rumor at Fontaine’s had it that Dr. Bashir had lost a patient that day, and that was what kept him from meeting Garak. The barkeep shook her head sadly. When questioned why, she said, “He may have lost far more than that.”
viii. a matter of time
It was a long, long time before either the doctor or the tailor came back to the restaurant.
Fortunately for business, and for each other, they did come back. Eventually.
ix. last call
The lunch crowd had to grudgingly admit they liked Doctor Bashir more than anticipated when his presence during the midday meal was actually missed. Fontaine’s seemed too empty and quiet without the doctor’s perpetual babbling, and of course, some of the appeal of lunch was gone now that his arguments with the tailor had ceased. Everyone was worried about him, and none moreso than the doctor’s favorites. Gradually, slowly, they hatched a plan to coax the man back.
When Bashir returned to Fontaine’s, it was nighttime, and for the first time in the restaurant’s memory, the man wasn’t wearing scrubs or a white doctor’s coat. His off-duty clothes were well-worn and several years out of style, and the brittle expression on his usually smiling face didn’t vanish until he’d played three rounds of darts and drank two brightly-colored cocktails. Even then, everyone could tell that his good mood wouldn’t last. When his favorites- his friends- eventually had to return home to their families and happiness, the doctor remained behind until last call, sitting beneath a flickering hanging light at the bar with his head in his hands.
x. bashir, alone
After that, the doctor drifted back to lunches, like his presence in Fontaine’s was inevitable. Nobody dared ask about the tailor, for risk of offending him or upsetting him, and he was quieter and more rumpled than usual, sad lines worn around the corners of his mouth when he thought nobody was looking and a wistful quality to his voice in quieter moments. He begun haunting a different table, hidden away out of sight from where he used to sit with Garak, but his new corner seat was still illuminated by the sun.
xi. concerning garak
The restaurant had been able to convince Bashir to return, but they couldn’t say the same for Mr. Garak. Nobody even knew if the tailor was still in town until the barkeep bravely ventured to the man’s shop and caught sight of him sewing in front of a window. He wasn’t trusted, not really, but his friendship with the doctor had improved his standing with the lunch crowd enough that even his harshest critics couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for him. After all, Bashir had been the man’s only friend, and if he really was an exile, as rumor suggested, then he’d lost everything a second time. So when he finally emerged from hiding and came to Fontaine’s one midmorning, ordering a tea drink no one remembered him ordering before, well, was it any surprise that everyone had something to say about it? It was eventually agreed that Garak came back more polished, sharper than he’d ever been, dark hair slicked back and pale blue eyes filled with vicious mockery whenever anyone so much as thought of approaching him, and he gave lunch and therefore Doctor Bashir a wide berth. But Bashir kept odd hours, and avoiding lunch was no real guarantee of also avoiding the doctor.
The usual easy flow of conversation stuttered to a momentary stop when the door opened on one overcast fall day to reveal the doctor, scrambling in later than usual. Garak, sitting at the bar and poking at a garden salad, stiffened ever so slightly, and otherwise gave no indication of acknowledging the doctor’s presence. Bashir ordered the first thing off the lunch menu and spent his whole meal staring at Garak’s back with big wounded eyes, completely oblivious to the rest of the restaurant.
Once the doctor and the tailor had gone, the cafe burst into speculative conversation. Surely, the consensus went, the tailor would never come back, now that he’d encountered the doctor.
The lunch crowd had never been more wrong, or more glad to be.
xii. fall
Though Doctor Bashir and Mr. Garak had returned to their old table and literature discussions, it was obvious to everyone in the know that things were not the same. The doctor stammered more, backpedaling and giving in far too easily when Garak pushed him, and the tailor was far too cutting and cruel to truly enjoy discussion for its own sake. The changing fall weather didn’t help either. Cloudy days cast long and heavy shadows across the table, adding weight to every awkward and frosty silence that would’ve before been filled by easy conversation.
Behind the bar, the tally board was dusty and neglected from lack of use, and every bet over the date of the next appearance of the elusive endearment ‘my dear’ fell through without success. The patrons, discontent, looked helplessly to the bartender for some plan of action, but she shook her head. They’d done all they could. The rest, now, was up to the doctor and the tailor.
xiii. handle with care
“I think the flocks of birds the author describes in the last third of the novel represent faith,” Dr. Bashir argued.
Garak rolled his eyes and scoffed. He was particularly prickly these days, and needed careful handling that not even the kind doctor could always provide. “Doctor, you are an optimist. Those birds represent faith disappearing- they do fly away, do they not?”
The restaurant, breath bated, froze in anticipation of the doctor’s response.
Bashir was undeterred by his companion’s bad attitude, and he offered the tailor a regretful smile. “Just because we don’t see faith doesn’t mean it isn’t there.”
Garak had a lot to say about that, but the doctor could not be swayed.
xiv. found
“I believe,” said Garak to the barkeep, during one of his early morning visits, “I left a book here, quite a while ago. Could you check for it?”
The barkeep nodded and headed into the back office, lingering a moment to pretend to search for the book she knew sat in a place of honor in the cafe’s lost and found, before picking the novel up reverently and returning it to the man waiting patiently at the bar.
The tailor gave her a peculiar little nod of his head and set off for his shop, book clutched tightly to his chest.
xv. know it when you see it
Anyone who was at all familiar with Fontaine’s Cafe recognized Doctor Julian Bashir and his lunch companion, Mr. Elim Garak- they had been a fixture of the cafe’s lunch hour for ages, and were indeed perhaps the main draw of business to Fontaine’s over the middle of the day.
“- really now, you can’t possibly be saying the ships symbolize the end of the world!” Dr. Bashir protested, hands waving wildly. Mr. Garak, in contrast, was perfectly cool and collected as usual, observing his lunch companion with the faintest hint of a smirk.
“My dear doctor,” Garak started, and all of the restaurant inhaled. Under tables, coins and bills and IOUs changed hands, and the barkeep incremented the official tally, but Dr. Bashir and Mr. Garak continued their discussion, oblivious. They always were. “If you would simply place your antiquated notions of literature aside and take advantage of a broader perspective, you would easily see the true meaning of those ships as simply apocalyptic.”
Dr. Bashir scowled, though the almighty mess he made of his fluffy hair ruined the effect. “My perspective is plenty broad, although I couldn’t say the same of yours.” He settled back in his seat, taking an aggressive bite of his sandwich- turkey and swiss on rye.
Garak quirked a brow and leaned forward. “Oh?” he challenged.
Bashir swallowed hard and slammed his sandwich down. Turkey spilled out between slices of bread as the doctor mirrored his companion’s posture, save for his elbows on the table. “Yes,” he insisted, meeting Garak’s eyes without blinking.
A hush fell over the cafe. At the bar, the barkeep quickly and efficiently took bets. She had her routine down to a science by now, after much practice.
“Do enlighten me.”
Bashir grinned, hazel eyes sparking with fire. “From the very first chapter,” he began, and he proceeded to lose every spectator in the cafe. None of them, of course, had read the book that was being discussed- that wasn’t the draw. The draw was the life present in the youthful doctor, the thrill of the collected and private tailor Garak losing any of his poise and mystique, and, of course, the illicit bets. It was rumored that one of Dr. Bashir’s friends had made thousands of dollars from predicting the outcome of the literary arguments, though of course the honorable barkeep would never confirm or deny such a thing.
At his table, the doctor reached the final pitch of his argument. “So you see, my dear Mr. Garak-” again, money exchanged hands under tables all around the restaurant, and the official tally was updated- “those ships don’t represent the end of the world. They represent a beginning.” The doctor searched for any hint of emotion in the tailor’s face, but he seemed to be unmoved. Bashir’s eyes squeezed closed, and when he finally opened them again they glimmered with tears in the tentative rays of unseasonable sunshine. “Elim, those ships represent hope.”
Never before had the cafe been so silent. Nobody who knew anything so much as dared to breathe out of turn as slowly, ever so slowly, the tailor brought his hand forward to rest atop the doctor’s. “Julian,” he murmured, with the faintest hint of a genuine smile, and when the doctor sighed in relief and victory, the rest of the cafe sighed with him.
Gradually, the soft clinking of dishes and the hum of conversation returned to the restaurant. Bashir and Garak continued their lunch as Julian and Elim, and anyone who knew anything about Fontaine’s could tell you exactly why.

The Off-Switch for a Ticking Time-Bomb: The Importance of the Measles Vaccine
The pattern is clear: over the last decade or so vaccination uptake globally has dramatically declined, and cases of measles and other illnesses commonly vaccinated against during childhood has dramatically increased.
This is a pattern that is also being seen in the UK. A recent report by Unicef and the World Health Organization (WHO) found that between 2010 and 2017, 527,000 children in the UK who were eligible to receive their vaccinations were not vaccinated. This has led to spikes in cases of measles in certain parts of the country – ‘Public Health England (PHE) said there had been 47 cases across Greater Manchester in 2019, compared to only three cases in 2018 and seven in 2017’ (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-48040787). The issue has recently been described as ‘a ticking time-bomb’ by the NHS chief Simon Stevens: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-48039524.
The accepted cause for these patterns is growing concerns some parents have concerning vaccinations and the effects they have on their children. It’s worth saying at this point that I am about to start working as a doctor within the NHS and I passionately believe in the vital role vaccination plays in public health. Because of this, I have decided to make this short little piece to try and answer some of the most common questions and concerns some parents have regarding vaccines. These questions are the ones I have seen most commonly being asked during my clinical placements in hospitals and GP practices, as well as on the internet and social media. I have tried to reference all the answers to show that they’re not just my wild imaginings and are all backed up by thorough evidence and research.
If you’ve ever felt concerned or sceptical about vaccinations, if you have seen or read anti-vaccination literature in the past, or if you are just curious, please just give this a read and let me know what you think.

Do vaccinations even work?
Yes. Numerous studies by various organisations worldwide, including WHO, have shown that vaccinations are secondary only to clean water in reducing the burden of disease on a population (https://www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/86/2/07-040089/en/). As long as the uptake rate is high enough, vaccination can dramatically reduce the incidence of its target disease, and in some cases even eliminate it from the population. This occurs through an effect known as ‘herd immunity’ – this means as long as enough of the population take up the vaccine – around 90-95% for measles – so many people are immune to the virus that it can no longer survive in that community. This elimination of a disease has actually been achieved in some instances, such as the eradication of smallpox in 1980 through a vaccination programme. Local elimination of measles has also been seen in areas with high uptake of the measles vaccine e.g. in Finland. https://www.who.int/bulletin/volumes/86/2/07-040089/en/
How do vaccines work?
To understand how vaccines work, its first best to get an idea of how our body fights an infection. When exposed to a bacteria or virus, our body can quickly become a battlefield. Our body puts up a whole host of defences to try and stop the bacteria or virus spreading throughout the body. Some of these defences include increasing body temperature to try and burn off the infection (this is why we get fevers) or even just trying to cough or sneeze up the bacteria or virus in snot or mucous.
Our soldiers in this battlefield are called white blood cells. A specific type of white blood cell called a B cell can learn to recognise certain shapes on the cell of the infecting organism that are unique to that bacteria or virus – just like people have their own distinctive looks and facial features that help you recognise them. Once it realizes this, the cell makes many clones of itself so that next time that same bacteria or virus attacks the body, it can quickly be recognised and all your body’s defences can attack and destroy it, usually before you even start to feel ill.
Vaccines work in the same way. Vaccines contains a little bit of this unique bacteria/virus shape and allows your body to see it, recognise it as an invader and then memorise it. This means that if your body ever gets infected with the real deal, your body will recognise it quickly and be able to destroy it before you even start to feel ill. Some vaccines contain just this little shape, while others contain dead or deactivated versions of the virus or bacteria which cannot cause true infection but still allow your body to learn its unique shape. The measles vaccine contains a weakened, also known as attenuated, form of the virus.
This video explains the process pretty well too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-muIoWofsCE
Isn’t measles just like a bad case of the flu? Does my child really need to be vaccinated?
Widespread vaccination programmes are still a relatively recent thing (the first vaccine against measles in the UK was introduced in 1968). Despite this, the programme has been so effective that measles became a forgotten disease that we didn’t see anymore and only the older generation could remember.

Measles is a lot worse than a bad case of the flu. Children who develop measles at first develop fever, greyish-white spots in the mouth and a distinctive red-brown rash that starts behind the ears before spreading to the rest of the body. Children are usually unable to get out of bed for around five days and can miss up to two weeks of school. The initial infection often also leads to complications such as further infections in the ear, lung or even the brain.
But beyond these usual cases, in a minority of children infected with measles, the disease can be fatal. It is thought that one out of every 5000 children infected with measles will die. The famous children’s author Roald Dahl’s daughter died of a complication of measles and he spent much of his life after her death campaigning and spreading the word about the importance of vaccination in the fight against measles and other infections. You can read his account of his daughter’s death and the effect it had on him here: http://vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk/blogs/ojohn/how-dangerous-measles).
In a small number of cases, some children infected with measles go on to develop a condition called subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The children often don’t develop the condition until years after their initial measles infection. Its caused by the measles virus spreading to the brain, leading to destruction of the central nervous system, dementia, epilepsy and eventually death. You can watch a video on the effect SSPE has had on a family’s life here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aB8kGwKZiq0

If everyone else is vaccinated, does it really matter if my child doesn’t get the vaccine?
As explained earlier, eliminating a virus or bacteria from a community is dependant on the effect of herd immunity. For the measles virus, it has been calculated that around 90-95% uptake is needed to provide effective protection against the virus for the population. There are a number of children who, for many reasons, will not be able to receive the vaccine. These reasons include them being too young to receive the vaccine (the vaccine against measles is usually given at around 1 year of age) or if the child has other illnesses e.g. cancer, that mean its immune system is not able to mount an effective immune response to the vaccine.
This means that if healthy children are not vaccinated, they may carry the virus and spread it to children who are not able to receive the vaccine. If a healthy unvaccinated child gets infected with measles they will likely be able to fight off the infection themselves but may inadvertently spread it to children who are not strong enough to fight the infection. In these children, the risk of developing complications and severe infections is much more likely and so it is very important for all children who can be vaccinated to be vaccinated in order to protect everyone.
Don’t vaccinations cause autism?
No. This controversy was started after a paper was published in the medical journal the Lancet in 1998 claiming that there was a link between children who received the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccine and children who went on to develop developmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder. The claims made in the paper were quickly picked up by the national press and led to a widespread distrust of vaccinations that is still felt in some areas of the UK and the world today.
Due to the seriousness of the claims and the panic it caused, a vast amount of time and money went into research looking into the link. They all reached the same conclusion: there is no link between the MMR vaccine and autism. They also found that Andrew Wakefield’s study had been seriously flawed:
1)    Wakefield selected patients that had already started to show signs of autism before his study began, meaning his study wouldn’t be a fair reflection on the effect of the MMR vaccine on the general population.
2)    Wakefield falsified the information to suit the results he wanted to get e.g. one child in the study had already started to show some signs of autism before receiving his MMR vaccine (this was clearly stated in the child’s medical records), but in Wakefield’s report it stated that the first signs appeared months after the vaccination
3)    Wakefield was being paid to conduct the research by lawyers representing parents who were against vaccines. This meant that he was set to gain financially if he could discredit the safety of vaccinations.

The man behind the now disgraced report linking the MMR vaccine to autism; Andrew Wakefield
For all these reasons, the Lancet retracted the paper and Andrew Wakefield was later found guilty of deliberate fraud and struck off from the medical register, although he still has a large following in some parts of the world, particularly in the anti-vaccination community. Due to the amount of research that went into investigating the link between the MMR vaccine and autism at the time, the fact that there is no link between the two is now one of the most well-proven things in modern medicine.
You can find more in-depth information on why Wakefield’s paper was fraudulent and unreliable here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3136032/ and https://www.bmj.com/content/342/bmj.c7452. And more information on research into the link between the MMR vaccine and autism can be found at the bottom of this page ‘Is The Vaccine Safe?’: http://vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk/mmr-vaccine
Could my child get ill from the vaccine?
Because a vaccine is trying to trick the body into thinking that there is an infection starting, the body can sometimes switch on all its defences after a vaccine e.g. fevers, runny noses. This occurs in around 1 in 10 children who receive the vaccine and normally wears off after 2-3 days. Another common side effect is redness and some pain and swelling around the site of the injection, which again quickly wears off.
In a small number of cases (1 in 1000), some children can develop fits or seizures following the vaccine. Although this is a serious side effect and will need medical attention, it is worth remembering that fits and seizures are far more common in child infected with the real measles virus.
Some parents also voice concerns regarding allergy to the measles vaccine, particularly regarding children with egg allergies. Although the measles virus strain used for the vaccine are grown on chick embryo cells there will only be tiny, if any, amounts of egg protein in the vaccine and not enough to cause an allergic reaction. Like all foods and medicines, there is a risk that a child could have an allergy to another of the ingredients of the vaccine leading to a serious allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. This kind of a reaction is extremely rare with the measles vaccine. However, this is why many healthcare professionals may want to observe the child for a few minutes following the vaccination to ensure the child doesn’t have a reaction. If a reaction does occur, the child can be quickly treated with adrenaline (the same stuff that’s used in EpiPens for people with other allergies).
If you have any concerns about your child following a vaccination, please contact your GP or other healthcare professional for more advice.
More information on the side effects of the MMR vaccine can be found at: http://vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk/mmr-vaccine
Aren’t there lots of nasty chemicals in MMR vaccine?
As well as the active ingredients needed to trigger the immune response, the MMR vaccine also contain some other ingredients that help the vaccine work:
-       Gelatine to act as a stabiliser (this is only in one form of the vaccine, a version not containing gelatine is also available)
-       Sorbitol, mannitol and recombinant human serum albumin all act as stabilisers
-       Polysorbate 80 is used as an emulsifier
-       The vaccine may also contain traces of an antibiotic called neomycin, which is used during the manufacturing process to stop bacteria growing and contaminating the culture
None of these ingredients have been shown to be harmful to humans. You can find out more information on the ingredients of the MMR vaccine at: http://vk.ovg.ox.ac.uk/mmr-vaccine
Tumblr media
I hope you have found this piece interesting and I hope it has answered some questions you might have concerning the MMR vaccine. It is worth underlining that measles and the other infections protected against by vaccines are serious infections that are horrible to go through and can in a number of patients lead to serious complications and even death. Vaccination is vital in protecting both our healthy children and also those too young or too ill to receive the vaccination.
If you have any questions regarding the MMR vaccine or vaccines in general, please do not hesitate to contact your GP or other local healthcare professional.

Summary: You and Ashton have been trying for a baby, it hasn’t been really working out, and you have been struggling. (Lol Father’s Day USA.)
Pairing: Ashton x Reader (lace)
Warnings: Angst, mention of miscarriage
a/n: this literally took me forever to write I started writing it like a year ago. Today I sat down reevaluated what I had and finished it. This is what I got. :) thanks for reading.
Word Count: 1878 ish
masterlist.
I had just gotten back from the store with another box of pregnancy tests. I had run out a couple days ago, and I was gonna need some more. Ashton and I had been trying for a baby again for a few months, and we had not had any luck.
I got out of my car in the parking garage of our building and made my way upstairs to our apartment. I was hoping that Ashton wouldn’t be home so I could hide the new box of tests and clean up a little before he came home.
I made my way to the front door and went inside. I decided to hide the box of tests somewhere that my husband would never look, the spice cabinet. Once I put the tests behind the cinnamon and garlic salt, I made my way to the bedroom to get the laundry.
Washing my clothes and Ashton’s was going to take a while seeing how he had just gotten back from tour about three weeks ago. It had been about three days since the rest of his belongings had arrived at our apartment. While I was going through some of his clothes, I found some new ones. I assumed that some of the shirts could have belonged to the other boys, but Ash had probably bought some things while he was traveling.
This wasn’t our first time trying for a baby. We had attempted before, we were successful, in the beginning. I was pregnant for about five months. Then one night when I woke up, with a sharp pain in my stomach.
“ahhhhhhhhhh”  I screamed, clutching my stomach. The pain I felt in my stomach was like no other. It was worse than any period cramp I had ever experienced. I could feel the bed shift next to me as Ashton was waking up. He immediately turned on his bedside lamp and then quickly held me by my shoulders trying to comfort me.
“Babe, what’s wrong? Are you ok? Is it the baby?” he said slowly rubbing my back trying to soothe me.
“It’s my stomach, I think it is the baby,” I said frantically, “we need to go to the hospital now!”
“ughhhhhhhhhh!” I screamed again, the pain was excruciating. I couldn’t see as well, due to the pain. From what I could hear Ashton was quickly putting on some clothes, as I sat trying to understand what was going on with my body. I could hear him shuffling around the room, and then I felt him helping me up off the bed. As I got up, I saw a blur of red on our white bed sheets.
I pulled some of the clothes that I had washed and dried out of the dryer to fold them. I took the bundle of clothes to our bedroom, along the way there, I saw a small bag on the floor hidden under a table in the hall. I had finished putting away the clean clothes when my thoughts were brought back to that small bag I saw on the floor. I picked it up and looked inside, I saw a small piece of clothing and pulled it out. As I looked at it, I realized that is was a baby onesie. It was black with long sleeves, and footie covers. On the front it read, “rock out with your blocks out.” it also had a picture of some blocks that resembled legos. I slowly ran my fingers across the front of the outfit, craving the feeling that being pregnant had brought me.
I was so engrossed by the memory of my miscarriage, I hadn’t realized that I had been crying. I wiped the tears from my face and placed the onesie back in the bag. I put the bag back where I got it from. I was feeling curious and impatient, so decided to go see if I was pregnant yet.
I pulled the test from its hiding spot and made my way to the bathroom. I was nervous, a little more than normal. This was the first time I was taking a test this week, and it was only Tuesday. I began pacing around the bathroom, waiting for the need to pee come back. I had been drinking a lot of water earlier with the intent to be able to take this test.
To say I was afraid would have been an understatement. I was trying everything just to pee. I turned on the sink and thought about water. I even thought about doing some kind of rain dance just because I thought the constant moving would work, and I got lucky because it did. I had to practically run to the bathroom without tripping. I knew Ashton was gonna be home soon.
I was afraid of him coming home while I was waiting for the results and it not being positive. I didn’t want to disappoint him again. Ashton and I have been together long enough for me to know how his brain worked. Being a father has always been at the top of his list of goals. I couldn’t stop laughing the first night we ever talked about having a future together.
“I mean just imagine it, Lace having four or five jr’s running around the house,” he explained walking around the living room. This was the most animated I have ever seen him be about something that was not music related.
“Ash, baby, we have only been dating for four months, and you already want kids?” I knew he didn’t want to have kids unless we were married, but at this moment I knew teasing him would bring me more humor than the show playing on the tv behind him.
I had thought that he barely heard me, but after I asked him my question, he stopped in his tracks, put his forefinger and thumb on his chin as he was thinking. The next thing I knew he ran over to me on the couch. Scooped me, my blanket, and my water bottle up in his arms and ran to the bedroom.
“Ashton Fletcher, what on earth are you doing?” I said trying not to fall or drop anything.
“We definitely are not ready to have kids yet, but we should probably start practicing for the future…” he said with a chuckle and a wink.
I laughed at the memory, knowing that at this rate we had learned that practice doesn't make perfect. At least in our book, it made progress. I was just about to check the results when I heard Ashton yelling for me from the kitchen. I quickly shoved the test in the bathroom drawer without looking and went out to greet him.
“Hey babe, did you just get home?” I said rearing the corner to see Ash with Mitchy Collins and Josh Raven. They were all drinking beer and chilling. I walked over to Ash who was sitting on our island, gave him a kiss, stole his beer and went to the couch.
I loved his friends because they were my friends too, but I was a little too stressed out right now to deal with anyone other than my husband.
Ashton had started to respond when I heard Josh say, “Welp, I guess that's our cue to leave mitch.” He and I had been pretty good friends since ash helped Josh and his band with some music. I heard them start to say their goodbye’s. I didn’t want them to leave because I was having a moment, so I went back over to Ash and gave him his beer back.
“You guys don’t have to leave, I just need ya’ll out in about an hour,” I said with a smile. Turning to ash, I whispered in his ear, “You are good to have them here for a bit, I am okay. But don’t forget you are the one who wanted to do a little practicing when you got home today.” I heard him release a heavy breath as I pulled away. I took another sip of his beer, set it in his hand. Bid adieu to our friends, each with a hug, and went to my office to get some work done while they were hanging out.
The guys were at our house for another half hour before I heard Ashton going into our bathroom, and a partial panic arose inside of me. I had forgotten about the test and was kind of hoping to find out if we had been successful or not before him. I never wanted him to be disappointed again. I knew I couldn’t protect him forever.
So I got up from my desk and started to make my way to our bathroom. As I got closer I heard a faint sobbing, I started to walk slower, afraid of what I was about to encounter. Seeing Ashton with the test was what I was expecting, but it still took the breath out of my lungs. I wanted to rush to his side and comfort him because his reaction was leading me to believe the worst right now, but when he stood up, turned to me, a smile spread to his face, I knew I could have hope.
He wiped away his tears and asked me with his eyes when, and how long I knew. At that moment I couldn’t wait any longer I ran to him and hugged him in the hope that we had become a full family again.
“Ashton, what does it say?” I asked with my arms wrapped tightly around him, hoping for the best. Afraid to let go and find out the worst. He rubbed my back with his free hand and then pulled away. We were still so close that our foreheads were resting on each other and he started to speak softly.
“Baby, we did it. We made progress.” with his words; I opened my eyes and looked at his hand to see the two pink stripes. I was finally able to breathe again. I looked up at my husband again brought my hands to his face and kissed him like there was no tomorrow.
We were soon out of breath but in such a desperate need for each other. I could feel my husband start to back us up into the hallway.
“Josh, Mitchy!” he yelled, and the boys popped their heads around the corner “um so… my wife is pregnant, and I gotta make sure my kid stays in there this time. So ima need you assholes to get out of my house so I can make love to her.” the boys looked at each other, then back at us. I was now leaning against the wall with Ashton towering over me, his left hand on the wall and his right on my waist, my arms wrapped around his torso and my right foot on the wall behind me. I heard them scrambling shouting their final goodbyes and rushing out the door.
Ashton chuckled as his friends' actions, shook his head and turned his focus back to me. I could see the glow of happiness in his eyes, and at that moment I was ready to do this again with the love of my life.
He brought his lips to my ear and whispered the most beautiful thing I’d heard all day, “Now where were we my love? Ah, yes celebrating our victory.”

Tumblr media
Prior:  [Obsidian Master List]
My phone buzzes, angrily on the desk.
I don’t look, since I already know who it is. While continuing to work, my fingers fly over the keyboard, etching out an email to Captain Joann. Recently, my scope of work has expanded. It all began with a cop in Seattle, who reached out to me for help on an unsolvable case. Then came the call from Chicago, then one more, in Cleveland. All across the country, requests began trickling in. After I solved the Obsidian case – I pause, stopping work until the knot in my chest loosens – word spread quickly of my skills and since, my role has only grown.
Eventually, it was the government reaching out to me and now, I work not just for the city, but for Washington as well. I split my time between cases both human and supernatural – since as it turns out, there are more witches and wizards in government than I realized. This case though, the one I’m emailing Captain Joann about now – this is purely human. All around me, the lights from the office are familiar. They wash over my face, bathing me in dim illumination from my two monitors. Behind, the familiar whir of air conditioning kicks in, while my phone continues to buzz on the table beside me.
Taehyung: babeeee [10:46 PM]
Taehyung: pay attention to me [10:47 PM]
I smile, reaching for the device.
Y/N: yes, dearest? What would you like me to say? [10:48 PM]
Taehyung takes a moment to respond and while he does, I turn back to my screens.
Taehyung: I’d like you to say you’re leaving, since our apartment is lonely without you [10:50 PM]
I stare at the word ‘our,’ certain I’ll never grow tired of hearing it. Many things have become ours, recently. Stretching my arms overhead, I look down at the clock and wince, realizing how late I am. Taehyung isn’t entirely wrong, to complain. Returning to my email, I type faster. Finishing the response quickly, pressing send and slamming my laptop shut.
When I stand, slinging the device into my bag – my gaze falters, landing on the cubicle next door. The tag now reads Derek, though I keep looking over and expecting another. Julia’s passing has weighed on me heavily. Even two years later, I still feel the guilt. If she hadn’t been my partner, if Julia hadn’t been involved in the case – Jaewoo would never have chosen her. She would never have been taken, her blood would never have been shed. I’ve been trying to make my peace with it, since there was nothing I could have done – but still, it’s hard.
Taehyung – I hesitate, fingers fumbling with the buttons on my jacket. It’s also difficult, to say anyone is better after losing someone they love. Jaewoo made mistakes, he made many of them. Some things he did were terrible, but in the end, he tried his best to fix them. He gave his life for us, and for that I am thankful. Taehyung still struggles, with the events of that day. There are some nights he wakes up crying, some nights he wakes up screaming and some nights, he doesn’t wake up at all. Nights when he tosses and turns, whimpering into pillows as I turn and hold him. Pressing my body to his, waiting for the nightmares to stop, until he leaves whatever world he’s walked into and comes back to ours.
Ours. Staring at the word, I slip on my coat. These days, it’s hard for me to categorize either one of us as light or dark. We both have our moments – but then, I don’t know if this is a trait unique to us.  It seems to be the crux of humanity, a weight of the world to be divided.
My phone buzzes again.
Taehyung: we’re lonely without you. [10:57 PM]
Taehyung: [img.jpg] [10:57 PM]
My stomach swoops, pressing open.
Y/N: no fair!!! A puppy selfie? You’re playing dirty [10:59 PM]
Stepping from my cubicle, I shake my hair free from my jacket and walk down the hall. Most of the precinct lights are off – the hallway light before me bright, while I push open a door. Glancing down at my phone, a tiny smile tugs at my lips. Taehyung is adorable, his face smushed into black fur while he holds Cinder up to the lens. We adopted her a few months back, and having her is entirely chaotic – but entirely worth it. Just the sight of Taehyung, the most fearsome warlock, brought to his knees by a small ball of fluff – well, there aren’t many sights which compete.
Stepping into the lobby, I hesitate. Typically, I take the train home, ride the subway like a good human – but tonight, I just want to see him. Walking into the lower bathroom, I enter a stall and close my eyes. When I step into our living room, Cinder barks, tumbling over short legs to reach my frame. I squat down beside her, pulling her up in my arms. “Hi, girl,” I breathe, while she licks my face. “Hello!”
Taehyung enters, frowning at Cinder’s enthusiasm. “Et tu, brute?’ he sighs, walking into the kitchen. “Even the puppy loves you more. Ah, it’s only to be expected,” he grins, fake-biting the top of Cinder’s head. “She takes after her father.”
Rolling my eyes, I move Cinder to one arm – as Taehyung bends, pressing his lips to mine. His entire body softens, returning our kiss enthusiastically and when he opens his mouth, I groan. “Tae,” I breathe, pulling away. “Not in front of her.”
His eyes glint, while he smiles. “I said that I missed you,” he explains quietly.
“I missed you, too,” I blush, setting the squirming Cinder down on the ground. “What did you do today?”
Taehyung shrugs, stepping closer. “The usual,” he muses. His hands find my elbows, skimming up my forearms. “Gave an interview to some magazine in Japan. Destroyed Yoongi in Words with Friends. He was a sore loser, and magicked my phone to read, ‘Words with Enemies.’ Then I sent him a cursed flowerpot, just for fun.”
Taking this all in, I blink upwards. “First off, who still plays Words with Friends? Second, what kind of a curse,” I ask, curious.
Taehyung’s hands drift from my arms to my waist, pulling me forward to nuzzle my throat. “Oh, you know. So long as the flowerpot is in the house, Yoongi’s clocks won’t work. I’m hoping he won’t notice until he’s really, really late for something.”
I open my eyes, to stare up at him. “Taehyung!” I blurt.
“Yes?” he growls, pushing me back towards our bedroom.
“Taehyung,” I laugh, protest weakening as my arms twine about his neck. “You can’t distract me from this.”
Taehyung stops at the door, curving his lips into a smile. “I bet I can,” he murmurs – and waving his hand, the door falls shut behind us.

A Bundle of Hope
Part one: Some Good News
A/N: *screams in tired* i still feel v rusty on my writing bc its been some time since ive wrote fics lmao I hope yall like this one too :’))))
Rating: G
Pairing: Cassian Andor x Rebel Senator! Reader
Summary: Your baby is born and fluff ensues
She was asleep peacefully in your arms, bundled up tightly in a green blanket. Cassian gazed down at both of you lovingly, standing next to the bed you were sitting in.
After 9 long months your child had finally arrived and he’d be lying if he said those months weren’t some of the hardest in his life. Fighting the Empire after the destruction of the Death Star seemed harder than before or perhaps he was just being much less reckless than before. And then there was you. The pregnancy itself was relatively normal; morning sickness, weird cravings and lots of rest dominated your life for the bulk of those months while Cassian stood by and helped you any way he could. Telling everyone wasn’t as big of a problem for you both; the Rogue One crew suspiciously seemed to know before either of you said a thing and the rest of the rebellion and the rebel leaders were supportive of both of you.
“Oh Mi amor, we made one gorgeous daughter.”
You look to him with a quiet laugh “She gets it from her dad.”
“Oooohh, I’d say she gets it from her mom.” He grins, pressing a kiss to your lips. He gently strokes the baby’s head. She stirs in her sleep slightly, yawning quietly. You both look down at her, not noticing the small group of people with a droid that enter the room.
“I-is that her?” Bodhi asks in a quiet whisper. You and Cassian both look to him.
“Yeah.” Cassian hums, picking up your daughter from your arms. “Do you want to hold her?”
“I would love to.” Chirrut beams, passing his staff to Baze and holding out his arms. Cassian glances to you and you nod back in reassurance. He turns to the monk and sets the child in his arms.
Chirrut cradles the child closely. “The force is strong with this one”
“Maybe she can help Luke bring back the jedi.” You giggle from the bed.
“Wouldn’t that be something.” Cassian murmurs, sitting on the edge of the bed next to you.
Chirrut smiles to both of you, passing your daughter to Baze. He holds her delicately, studying her sleeping features. After a few minutes of holding her he passes her off to Jyn, who eagerly accepts. She cradles the baby rocking back and forth with her.
“What’s her name?” She asks, looking to you and Cassian.
“Amala.” You reply, leaning against Cassian. “Amala Andor- [Y/L/N]”
“Amala means hope” Kay calls out from the back of the group
“I think that’s a perfect name for her.” Jyn smiles down at her. She turns towards Bodhi. “Your turn.”
“Oh… oh yes, okay.” The pilot nervously scoops up Amala from her arms, feeling her squirm a bit. “She’s so small.”
“She’s our small bundle of hope.” Cassain says joyfully.
“A perfect addition to our family then.” Chirrut buzzes.
Bodhi hands Amala back to you. “Mmhmm. She’ll have you and Baze as her grandparents, Jyn is basically her aunt and Bodhi would be her uncle.” You look to each of them.
“U-uncle?” Bodhi repeats in a shocked tone. Jyn gives him a smile and a reassuring shoulder squeeze while you nod with a smile.
“And what am I in this family?’ Kaytoo loudly asks
“You can also be her uncle or big brother.”
“Big brother? Are you insinuating that I am your and Cassian’s child?!” He asks mildly appalled
Casisan snickers, “Is that a problem Kay?”
“It most certainly is! For one thing I think I am more of a parent to you two than you two a parent to me.”
“Fair enough.” Cassian smirks, looking to Amala again. She fuses a little bit, wiggling in her blankets. You rock her in your arms gently, quietly shushing her back to sleep. She whimpers slightly, quieting down back into her slumber.
The team stay in the room with you two each of them taking turns holding your daughter and sharing their hopes for the future with her while. Other members of the rebellion and some senators come by to see her while giving you and Cassian congratulations.  A nurse comes by later that evening to kick out the team for the night, promising that you’ll be out and about with Amala tomorrow.
After giving their good byes, Cassian lays on the bed next to you, cuddling you both close to him. You start to feed Amala one last time before you go to sleep. Cassian watches you both in utter adoration. You glance over to him, perking up a curious eyebrow.
A smile spreads across his face as he rests his chin on your shoulder. He strokes your daughters head once more. “I just love you both so much mi amor.”
You press a small kiss to his cheek, “And we both love you just as much my love.”

Let’s face it everybody – warts are unpleasant. These bumps and lesions on the skin build the person tormented by them self-aware, and they can disturb others who are in shut contact with the affected individual. Commonly, the first question asked by anyone who has warts is not “how did I get these?”, however instead is “how do I lose these things pronto?!?” If you visit any local drug store, you will see a myriad of potential cures and remedies available that claim to cure warts quickly. One of them is Wartrol, however before we look a lot of closely at this specific wart remover, let’s examine first what warts are and where they come from. Knowing what they're and a way to attack them most effectively should help you greatly to work out what product can best do the job. What May be a Wart? According to the American Academy of Dermatology, a wart is a growth that appears on the skin when a terribly specific virus (referred to as the human papillomavirus, or HPV) infects the top layer of the epidermis. The virus sometimes enters a cut or lesion in the surface of the skin before creating the growth. a-wartThe growth itself can tackle the looks of a little piece of cauliflower or a blister. Most warts last solely some moths before disappearing. However, some warts will last for years if untreated. It is vital to recollect that warts can appear anywhere on the body – hands, feet, genitals, even the eyelids. It is equally important to remember that warts are contagious. Thus, family and friends who are in shut contact with a person littered with warts ought to exercise heightened caution to avoid spreading them. And just because a wart has vanished on a person will not mean she is out of the woods. Warts can reoccur in the identical spot they previously infected. Most warts are harmless – they are simply nuisances that nobody enjoys having. But, a select few strains of HPV are associated with cervical cancer in women. Completely different sorts of warts arouse different responses from folks who observe them. A kid with a wart on a finger or the back of the hand might cause little concern in different of us. Individuals react more strongly and cautiously when they notice out an adult has genital warts around the anus or groin. By the approach, there's a typical folklore that toads are a source of wart infection. This is often an entire myth. Thus please – give the poor toads an opportunity. 6 Ways To Treat Warts Effectively Unfortunately, there is no widespread treatment currently obtainable which prevents a person from getting common warts and moles. The only exception to the current rule is a couple of vaccines that are developed to prevent warts which result in cervical cancer in girls; however, these vaccines have a mixed chronicle of success. All of these days’s common remedies for warts instead aim at treating the blemishes after they appear on the body. Cryotherapy surgical_assistant A frequently-used (however expensive) method to treat warts involves something referred to as “cryotherapy.” This can be a elaborate word for “freezing” and will be done with product like Dr. Scholls Freeze Away. Super-cold chemicals, such as liquid nitrogen, are applied to the warts in a very series of treatments and that they eventually fall off. However, the typical person does not have easy access to liquid nitrogen, therefore this option for many people isn't feasible when a treatment is required in a very hurry. Cantharidin Alternative commonly-used strategies involve a doctor’s intervention. These embrace painting the wart with a substance referred to as cantharidin, that causes a blister to make under the wart and allows the whole thing to be trimmed away in concerning every week. Surgery Alternatively, a physician might opt to cut away the wart during a minor outpatient procedure. Finally, a doctor can use electrosurgery and curettage, which involves “burning” the wart and scraping off the skin layers until the blemish is removed completely. Home Treatments If you do enough looking on wart treatments and how to get rid of skin tags, you'll inevitably return across some individuals who swear that covering warts with duct tape for extended periods of your time is a good treatment for these blemishes. But, medical studies have disproved these claims. OTC Wart Remover Products The foremost common (and least expensive) technique currently used to treat warts involve compounds that have a substance referred to as salicylic acid. You will not have heard of salicylic acid, but you have most likely used another medication that contains this chemical, like Dermisil. Salicylic acid is the active ingredient in aspirin, and is employed in other pain and discomfort-treating medicines. Salicylic acid is a medication called a “keratolytic.” This suggests that it dissolves the protein (or keratin) that creates up most of the wart and the thick, dead skin surrounding it, too. Once that protein is attenuated, the wart falls off and goes away. Another choice for someone affected by warts is to shop for Wartrol and to use the merchandise as directed. What Is Wartrol? This wart remover treatment may be a proprietary compound sold over the counter through an web website that claims to be “the most effective wart removal system of the last 3 decades.” This is a strong claim, figuring how several compounds and wart treatments exist on the market. Ingredients, And Why They are Effective bottleThe makers are at least honest in advertising the product – its secret ingredient is not any secret at all. Wartrol uses salicylic acid. That is the same compound mentioned on top of, which has been used as a typical wart treatment for many years. But, the merchandise advertises that it has this compound targeted to seventeenpercent among the medicine. While this may seem impressive, this is often quite like the concentration of salicylic acid found in different medicines sold over the counter, such as Compound W. The rest of the merchandise’s ingredients are inactive compounds. However, they still play an necessary part in the medication’s efficacy:     ethyl alcohol – this can be the medium in which all the parts that create up this wart remover are mixed in;     versatile collodion – a syrupy compound, this substance helps type a tough film over a surface when it dries;     menthol – this is an alcohol made from varied mint oils that helps relieve itching;     polysorbate – 80 – this compound acts as an emulsifier, that permits the varied ingredients to be evenly spread throughout the drugs;     ascorbic acid – also referred to as vitamin C, this compound helps with wound healing;     hydroxypropylcellulose – this is a water-soluable cellulose ingredient used generically in pharmaceutical aids. The way to Use The merchandise Almost like skin tag remover Revitol and the mole removal product Dermatend, application and usage is terribly straightforward. The surface area round the warts is cleaned 1st, then soaked for five minutes in warm water, dried and then Wartrol is applied with the applicator brush to the warts specifically. The final step is simply letting the drugs dry. The manufacturer recommends applying the medication twice a day. The directions on the packaging state that it could take up to twelve weeks for the medication to fully treat the wart. The expected treatment time is similar to that for other over the counter wart medications. Reviews – What Are People Saying Regarding It? There are literally tons and tons of internet sites on the internet that claim to have Wartrol reviews from real customers. However, a nice deal of these seem to be “puff pieces” that are a lot of advertisements than genuine data you'll use to work out if the product is good. However, among those reviews that seem genuine, the feedback is mostly positive, with lots of people saying the product has helped them greatly to get rid of their warts:     Honestly I’m just writing this review because this product worked and did everything it said it might do. I would have liked it to be a very little faster (took me seven days to induce rid of the thing) so that’s why I solely gave it four stars. But currently its been a month and I actually have yet to work out another one pop up. Loved it. Damien Kyle, posted on July 28, 2014, at www.wartrol.com, under “Testimonials.”     I tried out Wartrol. It’s not a magic product but I would say that it works. It took regarding two-three weeks. I am not sure about its composition – all I was curious about was the results. The reviews are positive at most places. You'll attempt too if you want.
