a little bitty senator nanami, pilot haibara (and yuuji), and princess reader friendship moment. they're truly a trio in all of my au's :( the triple p :(((( part of the jjk star wars au. wc 698.

“Do you have any idea how difficult you make my job?”
Kento’s voice makes you laugh as you push the helmet you were just wearing off of your head the rest of the way, Haibara behind you with both hands out to grab it as you tip your head and let it fall. He catches it with an exaggerated “oof” and your laughter continues as your regal friend approaches, dressed in finery that means he must have come straight back from Coruscant to the Resistance Base.
“What do you mean, Senator?”
He scoffs and rolls his eyes even as Haibara envelops him in a hug, his own dark hair mussed from his helmet. His orange flight suit is halfway unzipped, revealing the white shirt beneath it, and you can tell despite his visible annoyance that Senator Nanami is nothing short of happy to see his old friend.
“They know you’ve been fooling around out here and they aren’t pleased,” he sniffs while clapping the shoulder of the man hugging him. You join them quickly, throwing your arms around both men and pressing your cheek against Yu’s back. It feels good for the trio to be reunited - the princess, the pilot, the politician. The three of you have been a package deal for a long time.
“What do you mean fooling around? I’m trying to get us organized enough to keep everyone from dying! The least they can do is keep their opinions to themselves from their towers in the sky.”
The young pilot who often rides alongside Haibara gives the three of you space but you can tell he’s listening in on the conversation based off of the way his pink hair sticks up over the top of the plane’s wing, pretending to wrench away at a stalling rocket booster. You don’t dismiss the young man, Yuuji, but instead let him listen in. He has as much of a right to know where the Senate stands on your ever growing rebellion as anyone in this hangar does.
“As correct as you may be, Princess,” you hear the sarcasm drip from Nanami’s voice with the use of your title and it’s your turn to roll your eyes. “They aren’t impressed and support is flagging.”
Sighing, you back away from the two men and put your hands on your hips.
“Well maybe we can do it without them.”
The dark haired man nods in agreement.
“We don’t need them as long as we have other ways to get supplies, right? Tsukumo is still doing runs for us as far as I know.”
Raising your brows, you further consider how far you could go without the sympathy of the Senate before Nanami sighs, defeated.
“There’s no reasoning with you two hopeless dreamers, is there?”
This makes Yuuji laugh and you hear him quickly silence himself, pretending again to hit the edge of a wrench against the metal of the ship but you peek around the front of the ship to look at him. He grins, bright and boyish, and you smile back.
“What do you think we should do, Itadori?”
The young man stands at attention after hearing his name spoken so formally by the woman that is technically his commander but you hold your hand out indicating the formality isn’t necessary. You watch as he relaxes and begins to slap the wrench against the heel of his hand, thinking as he looks around the hangar.
“I think we should keep on as we are, Princess. We have the utmost faith in you.”
Nodding, you accept his answer and turn to raise your eyebrows in Nanami’s direction who simply pinches the bridge of his nose between his index and forefinger.
“And I have faith in you, Yuuji. Keep up the good work.”
Another grin spreads across his face and Haibara rounds the ship to join him in tinkering, giving you and Kento a moment to speak freely amongst one another.
“You’ve ensured that you’re surrounded by many fellow hopeless dreamers, haven’t you?”
Shrugging, you simply reach up and pinch his cheek the same way you did when you were children attending school together.
“I think they’ve made their way to me.”

A funeral, the service, and new beginnings.

It was one day. The one day you hadn’t gone over to try to keep her company, distract the two of you from your worry over Elvis. And now here you were at Gladys’s funeral trying not to let the guilt eat you alive (you knew that she was sick, that there was nothing you could have done, but that didn’t stop you from wondering what if?) with the Colonel hassling you about the press and reporters outside. Couldn’t he see that not a single one of you wanted anything to do with that?
Vernon largely ignored the Colonel. He turned to you, his tear-stained face matching your own as you sat beside your parents.
“Y/N, could you… do you think you could talk to Elvis? I’ve… I’ve tried, but I just can’t—“ he breaks off with a sob, collapsing into a chair. You rise from your parents’ side.
“Of course, Mr. Presley, anything I can do to help,” you say softly. You step by him with a squeeze of his hand and leave in search of your boyfriend. Of course Vernon had tried talking to him earlier, but his own grief made it difficult for him to truly help now.
“Elvis?” you knock quietly as you open the door to his mama’s closet, still scented with her perfume. Your heart shatters as you take in the scene of Elvis clinging to her favorite dresses, blue eyes bloodshot, tears streaming down his face. “Oh, sweetheart,” your voice breaks as you kneel down next to him, gently wiping away his tears. You wrap your arms around him, pulling him to your chest, and press a kiss to his head. There’s nothing you can say to ease his grief, but you can at least make sure he’s not alone.
The Colonel enters quietly, mumbling.
“My boy, your daddy is doing the best he knows how, but… he is overwhelmed. He needs your help out there.”
You frown, but are returned to the present moment as Elvis shakes his head and sobs against you, “I just wanna stay here forever.”
“I know there is nothing I can say to ease your pain. Miss Y/N’s, too.” The Colonel says, gently working the two of you up from the floor of the closet. “Nothing can replace her. But I promise, from this moment on, anything she would have done, I will do. I will carry it out in her name. While you are overseas, I will stay here at home with your papa and Miss Y/N, and I will work, and I will worry. Now,” He looks into Elvis’s eyes, “Go with Miss Y/N and be with your papa, your family and friends. Comfort them, comfort your fans, even, and let them comfort you. Because if you don’t do that, then all your mama has sacrificed for you will be for nothing.”
Elvis steps away from you briefly, still clinging to your hand, to throw an arm around the Colonel and pull him in for a hug.
“No matter what happens,” he sobs, “you’ll stay with me through thick and thin, okay? You’re like a… like a father to me.”
The shock that crosses the Colonel’s face also flashes on yours for a brief moment before he returns the hug, releasing him quickly to usher the two of you downstairs to the reporters.

Elvis throws himself into his work, recording a plethora of songs to be released while he’s away. He lets Uncle Sam cut his hair again and ships off to Germany not long after the funeral. He repeats the same vow he made to you word-for-word, “ain’t nothin’ gonna get in the way of us,” before he ships out, leaving you yet again with a lingering kiss and a promise to write to you.
And write he does. You quickly accumulate a stack of letters detailing his time in Germany, the friends he’s made (apparently he’s become friends with some captain’s daughter, Priscilla? He assures you every time he mentions her that it’s strictly platonic — she’s only 14, more of a little sister to him than anything, and nothing could possibly compare to you— but while she’s a bit young, he’s sure you two would get along swell), and he never fails to mention how he longs to see you again. You write him back just as frequently, telling him about your new job at the bookstore (the convenience store got a bit boring, and you’d always loved books) and keeping him updated on both of your families.

1960
Two years pass by somehow in the blink of an eye, and Elvis is finally home. He races to you the second he gets off the train, ignoring the crowd of fans and press around him, and sweeps you up into his arms, twirling you around, whispering in your ear how much he missed you.
“I missed you too, honey,” you whisper back, tears brimming in your eyes.
He sets you gently back on the ground and pulls you in for a searing yet gentle kiss, a kiss the two of you have been waiting for for two very long years. He pulls away reluctantly and turns to his father, your parents, and finally the Colonel for a hug.
“Good to see you, my boy! I have news for when we get back home, hm? But for now…” the Colonel gestures to the crowd of fans with a toothy grin, “don’t want to keep these lovely people waiting too long, do we?”
Elvis nods, turning with that bright, handsome smile. He signs a few things for the lucky few that are within reach, and answers some questions from the reporters clamoring to get his attention. He’s back with you in the car as soon as he finds an appropriate time to escape.
“I missed you,” he says between kisses as the pink Cadillac heads off for Graceland, “so goddamn much, I’m never letting you outta my sight again.”
You giggle against his lips, squeezing his hands tight, savoring the feeling of him actually being here, “I don’t plan on leaving your sight anytime soon, baby,” you assure him. “Now, I know you already wrote to me, but it’s not nearly the same as hearing your voice so,” you say with a smile, “I wanna hear everything.”
He regales you with tales of his time in Germany on the drive back to Graceland, telling you about Priscilla again (“You two’d be like peas in a pod, darlin’, I swear she’s like the little sister you never had”) and explaining the several stops he had to make on the train ride from New Jersey to Tennessee to appease the fans waiting for him along the way.
Upon your arrival, the Colonel is quick to gather you all in the living room to announce his big news.
“Movies, my boy!” he beams, “You are going to have a role in a new 20th Century Fox film!”
Elvis’s eyes go wide, “I’m… I’m gonna be an actor?” he says in disbelief.
“That you are, my boy, that you are.” The Colonel smiles, patting him on the shoulder. “Now,” he says, suddenly all business, “filming starts soon, so we will need you to move to Los Angeles as soon as possible…”
Up in Elvis’s room, sitting next to him on his bed, you blink as your boyfriend excitedly explains the Colonel’s plan to you again— you were in such shock that it was a bit fuzzy to you the first time.
“And darlin’,” he intertwines your fingers with his, “I don’t wanna do this without you. Will you come with me? To Hollywood? It’ll be so much fun, I promise, we’ll have a big house all to ourselves, and—“
You cut him off. “What? Live together? But… Elvis, baby, we’re… well, we’re not married,” you say nervously, “People might talk.”
“I mean…” he starts quietly, his thumb stroking the back of your hand, “We could be. Y’know, uh… someday.”
“Elvis Presley,” you blink in shock, blushing, “are you saying you might wanna marry me?”
“Well, yeah,” he drawls softly, “I guess I am. Not right now,” he says quickly at the nervous look still on your face, “that might be a little fast, but.. yeah. Someday.”
You think for a moment, resting your head against his shoulder. “Well,” you finally say, smiling, “Y/N Presley could have a bit of a ring to it, I guess. Someday.”

The decision to go with Elvis is an easy one for you. For your parents? Not so much.
“It’s not that we don’t trust you, sweetheart,” your mother says for about the fifth time during this very long conversation. You knew your parents would be hesitant to let you leave but goodness this was a bit much. “We know that you’re an adult and you can make your own decisions. It’s just…” your mother trails off, your father picking up her sentence as he says “We don’t know what people out there are like, Y/N. Now, I don’t particularly like the thought of you being so far away with only a boy for company—“
“Daddy!” You cut him off, “I've known Elvis for practically my whole life, and so have you and Momma. You know he’s a good man, he won’t let anything happen to me. And his father and the Colonel will be there, too, it’s not like it’ll be just the two of us all the time.”
“Sir, you know I’d drop dead on the spot before I let anything happen to your daughter,” Elvis interjects. “I know she means the world to you and, well, she does to me, too.” He says, looking over at you with soft eyes.
Your father looks Elvis up and down, and gestures over to his office, “Let’s you and me have a talk, Elvis.”
You’re not quite sure what goes on during that conversation in the office, but by the end of it (with lots of promises from you to come visit as often as you can, and about a hundred promises from Elvis repeating that he’d drop dead before he let anyone or anything touch a single hair on your head) your parents have agreed to let you go with him.

The two of you, along with his father and the Colonel, find a place in LA and one in Palm Springs big enough for the three of you, the Colonel finding his own not-so-small apartment nearby.
Your boyfriend’s first few roles are in movie musicals, not the dramatic roles he’d always aspired to, but he was happy just the same.
“The Colonel says the dramatic roles are somethin’ I can work towards,” he tells you, “but the singin’ ones are gonna help me get my foot in the door. Just you wait darlin’,” he says with a wink, “soon I’ll be just like Jimmy Dean.”
You and Elvis spend the rare days he’s not working on a film or soundtrack exploring the city, one day even going up to the Hollywood sign. After several years of living there, the sign becomes a place for the two of you to go if you ever need a break, and the view takes your breath away every time.
“I’ll race ya,” he proposes one day as you begin the trek up to the giant white letters.
You laugh, “What? Race me?”
“Yeah,” he nudges your shoulder with a chuckle, “like back when we were kids. I bet I can beat ya there. Unless you’re scared?” He teases.
“Never, Presley,” you say with confidence, chin jutting out playfully.
“Alright then,” he replies, a sparkle in his eye, “Ready, set, go!”
The two of you sprint to the sign, Elvis falling behind slightly as you gain an easy lead.
You whoop as you reach the sign first, admiring the view for a few moments before turning to face him. Your taunt of “See, I knew I could still beat you!” dies on your lips as you take in the scene.
Elvis is right behind you on one knee, out of breath but still looking at you as if you’re his whole world. It’s as if, even with the whole of Hollywood laid out below him, he only has eyes for you. But what truly catches your attention is the sparkling diamond ring in his hand.
A hand claps over your mouth in shock and tears spring to your eyes as he takes a deep breath and begins to speak.
“Darlin’,” he says, drawl becoming thicker with every word, “you’ve been with me through so, so much these past few years, and honestly… I can’t imagine my life without you now. Truthfully, I don’t want to, because a life without you ain’t a life worth livin’, sweetheart.”
He gives you a sweet, nervous smile, earnestly looking in your eyes, “So, Y/N L/N, my best friend, love of my life… will you make me the happiest goddamn man in the universe and… will you marry me?”
You nod frantically, cupping his face and bringing it to your own in a kiss, “Yes, a thousand times yes, baby, of course I’ll marry you,” you say between kisses as tears of joy roll down your cheeks.
He beams, taking your left hand from where it’s cupping his cheek and slipping the sparkling band onto your ring finger, releasing it with a kiss to the back of your hand. He stands up, sweeping you into his arms and twirling you around just like he had the day he got back from Germany. He sets you down gently, as if you might break, and cups your face in one hand, stroking your cheek, as the other grips your left hand — the one now adorned with the most beautiful ring you’ve ever seen in your life — and squeezes three times.
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” he says quietly, a vow for only the two of you to hear.
Unable to form words as more tears of joy spring to your eyes, you pull him in for a sweet kiss, pouring every ounce of your love for him into it and assuring him more than words ever could that a life with you will be everything he’s ever dreamed of.

1. How many works do you have on Ao3? 43
2. What’s your total Ao3 word count? 289,964
3. What fandoms do you write for? Whatever catches my fancy. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has the most fics (8), but my most recent fic was for Black Widow.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Family First- a Coco fic, the first multichap I ever finished, I think. An AU where Victoria stole the guitar when she was a child and she and Elena got stuck in the Land of the Dead.
Sick of Waiting for a Miracle- angsty Encanto! My take of Mirabel growing resentful instead of desperate, and the family falling apart a lot harder. Happy ending though because I am who I am.
Patching Up- post-Incredibles 2 fic of Bob and Helen patching each other up (hence the name). Short fluff I am astonished was my third most kudos-ed fic.
From the Hands of the Weak- Black Widow AU where Alexei and Melina take Natasha and Yelena and run.
Tia Victoria one-shots- Listen. My Coco phase was strong. And I did not have standards yet, so I posted whatever came into my mind. Most of these are about her tragic death. Unfinished, or it would have made "angstiest"
5. Do you respond to comments? Yes! I love responding to comments, especially to follow up on whatever the commenter found interesting.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I had to go back through my AO3 because no matter how much I put my little guys through, I usually like a happy ending. Technically it would be 5 Times Una Talked Chris Into a Breakup and 1 Time She Didn't. But that's part of a series that had a happy ending, so. I am redeemed.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I'll go with The World That Lives In You. I always write with a happy ending in mind, even if I don't finish it, but I picked this one because it ends with a domestic little scene of a traumatized family being cute and well-adjusted together.
8. Do you get hate on fics? Not that I have seen.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Nope.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? I have, not a lot though. I have a little series where I put the Incredibles in the Harry Potter universe. The Incredibles were Aurors and you can't change my mind was a fun time when I was very into Incredibles 2.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Once, allegedly by accident.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? I don't think so.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? No, aside from spitballing ideas with @justreckin.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship? Don't do this to me.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? When I first started writing and posting fic, I had an enormous DS9 fic all planned out. It was going to span 20+ years, introduce so many OCs, and center around Kira Nerys, my OBSESSION for a long time. I posted maybe 4 chapters. RIP.
16. What are your writing strengths? Dialogue and cute little moments.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I get bogged down in details and lose sight of the long game. OR if my intention is to make a little moment stretch, it lasts two sentences. There is no in between.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I will do one or two words at a time, maybe a sentence if I can pull it directly from the source material and I know what it means and the context.
19. First fandom you wrote for? NCIS.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written? oof oof oof. Great question. I have plenty that I go back and read just for fun. The one I'm proudest of right now is Discipline, Diligence, and Learning to Fly. My favorites to read are And the Time Eve Collected Human Beings Like Shiny Rocks and Keep Us Connected.

Hmmm. That is a tough one to pick. Hmmmm. I mean, I already did a post with my fav jjk ships, sooo. I’ll just list off my fav ships from other fandoms!
Hmm. Now what would they be… I would say… Akechi X Joker from Persona 5. I’m always a sucker for enemies to lovers! XD
Chrom X Robin from Fire Emblem Awakening, I remember loving that ship a lot when I was a teen.
And… I would say for the last one… it probably would be… hmm. I guess I’ll say Xingqiu X Chongyun from Genshin Impact. I found them very cute and silly.
First Ship:
Oof, now this be a call back from wayyyyy back when I was a kid. I remember as a really young kid I would ship Ash and Misty from the Pokémon anime.
Now I do found it sort of interesting how I ship fictional characters together through romantic lens. But when it comes to me feeling romance towards other people? Nonexistent. Lmaooo~ X3c

Last Movie:
I don’t really watch movies that much, mostly because I’m a broke introvert, but the last movie I did watch was recommended to me by @hxhhasmysoul!
The movie was called “Sound of Noise” a movie about a tone deaf cop trying to stop a group of anarchic band members whose performance are terrorizing the city.
It was a good watch! And I enjoy it a lot! I would give it a shot if any of you guys are interested in it!
Currently Reading:

Because I’ve currently reading this one old website about Drow Society, since I wanted to get more familiar with D&D lore and the society of all the races. Also, like one of my customize characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a Drow (a good Drow since I’ll always play a good route in the game) soooo I was curious!
Currently Consuming:
I’m assuming this means what I’m consuming media wise. Right? Then… it’s obviously Baldur’s Gate 3.
I’m currently have like over 290 hours on the game, and still planning of playing more of it!
Currently Craving:
I’m currently craving for Chongqing Chicken or it’s other name, La Zi Ji the Sichuan dish! ^w^

24. Do you have any hot or controversial takes?
Oh yeah plenty of them tbh lol
My hottest take? Honestly? I’m super disappointed in how cruel people were to people with Tech Lives theories on this damn site. Not just in the way that I’m sad about *gestures to everything* but I have seen some really nasty takes and have blocked people over them even though they were never directed at me. It shows me who you are when you’re cruel to a stranger over simply *checking my notes* wanting their favorite character to be alive. Some people in the Star Wars fandom are mean as hell. Maybe it’s because I’m fandom old (mid 20s) so I’ve been around for over a decade in fandom spaces but I can say that Star Wars fans can be really really mean compared to other fandoms. That’s more of a problem on reddit (never again) but it happens on tumblr and twitter (which I don’t have any longer but have heard… stories.) My little corner is GREAT. No complaints about this little corner I’ve found myself in but every time I venture out I see some shiiiiiiiiit and it takes me a minute to remember that this fandom can be really volatile. This is supposed to be fun. I say my piece, I agree or disagree with other people’s piece. Then I move on. I won’t argue. It ain’t my style. I get really upset when I see people being downright nasty to each other over fandom stuff. Stop it.
Also. Listen. I started in the Teen Wolf and Merlin fandoms in high school. There’s a lot of great stuff to use from those shows but canon was rarely awesome. I got used to letting the fandom do the work, fans shipping everything under the sun, and making up wild plotlines that wouldn’t actually make sense because who even knows what’s going on in the actual show anymore. Fandoms are wild and I like different opinions and different content and everything coming together in a way that is both weird and wonderful. Sometimes people want the entire fandom to like exactly what they like and get really aggressive with other fans over it. That is not my vibe. If I see something I don’t like then it isn’t for me and I move on! Enough said.
Instead of moving on, blocking tags, or blocking users many fans straight up call people names! Start arguments! Post cruel things! It’s stupid! I’ll say it, it’s stupid as hell! Just block shit, man! You can’t control other people. Protect your peace and block stuff you don’t like. I promise it’ll feel better <3

31. What other Star Wars characters (regardless of the timeline) do you think would be BFFs with each Batcher?
(This’ll be fun bc I know very little of the greater Star Wars Universe so some of these are based just on ✨vibes✨)
Omega and Leia Organa! I loved the Kenobi show and I just think these two would get along SO DAMN WELL.
Hunter and…. I’m going to be honest I thought about this over night and I STILL can’t pick somebody. I need to watch more Star Wars
Tech and Luke Skywalker. Flying! Ships! Podracing! This is the only thing I know of Luke Skywalker! They’d bond over this and make ships go faster together so they’d be besties.
Crosshair and Merrin. Echo and Cal Kestis. This is an inspired choice, I feel. Cal has a really big connection to protecting people and Echo WOULD LOVE to work with him to protect people from the Empire (play Jedi: Fallen Order 👀)
Wrecker and Chewbacca. Wrecker really thrived in that episode with the wookiees and I think he’d have a great time with Chewbacca.
49. What has been your favorite part about being in the fandom?
All of my friends!!! I’ve made a lot of great friends in the past two years and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s not very easy for me to make friends, if I’m being honest, so having friends that I talk to about the clones and star wars and fic ideas means a lot to me. It is the ultimate draw for me. I love talking to people about things I love, hearing everyone’s opinions, seeing everyone write and create art and do deep dive analysis. I love seeing people run role play blogs and come up with ask games. I love love love the fun parts of fandom just existing. Seeing people get excited about ideas and share them with others and create gifs and have fun. That absolutely has my heart. We’re all just here trying to express ourselves and that is something I think gets overlooked sometimes. This is something we do in our free time. We’re here because we want to be, not because we have to be. It’s a beautiful thing, to find connection over a shared love of something, and I love that. It’s kind of the same thing I love about concerts. Concerts are a unique place where it’s acceptable to have big emotional reactions with other people over the shared love of the music being played for you. For one night you aren’t just a fan of a band standing in a room listening to some people sing at you. You’re a part of the crowd, experiencing a million different emotions all in the same moment but not one of you is feeling the exact same way as the person next to you. It’s a wonderful thing to experience. This fandom, my little corner of it at least, feels about the same. We’re all experiencing life differently, different day to day things, different upbringings, different opinions, likes, and dislikes. But we’re all here, watching the same thing, and coming away with different emotions and opinions.
I think that’s beautiful.

this is hella random but-
if you ever want to info dump about the call of duty guys (ghost and soap i think? are those call names? soap is weird lol) please do! that ship has started popping up more and more in my feeds and now i am thoroughly intrigued. mostly because yes give me more ships with everyone suffering ptsd, but also i had no idea call of duty had any sort of plot line or recognizable characters?
i’ve played it only a handful of times and it always just seemed to me like a “create a character then join a server and shoot people” kind of game i didn’t think it had any story lol

I’m the wrong person to ask, cause I haven’t played the games yet😔🤣.
I own a couple of them, but I haven’t played yet just cause… last year I was in a weird place with video games really, is the only explanation I have. The campaigns (the plot parts) are not too long if you wanna watch them on YouTube (I also haven’t done that,,,,,, I should do that if I’m not gonna play the 2020s games, just cause I know that people where Not Happy with the last game, but I should freaking play the ogs cause they are RIGHT up my alley oof).
There’s a couple things you gotta know, if you wanna get into to it: There’s two different series of Modern Warfare, the og, which came out 07, 09, and 11. And then the remakes (which is what got the fandom So Big), which is from 2019, 22, and 23. They are, the same story told differently, and they are Very Different. The characters have very different personalities depending on the series.
(This is why I tag things as ghostsoap, or 09 soapghost so I can keep track of the different characters lol).
Ghost and Soap are their callsigns, yeah. It makes the ship names fun though! (Ghosts first name is Simon, Soap’s is John (Ghost calls him Johnny, so the fandom runs with calling him that lmao)).
Ghost wears a mask, and doesn’t have a canonical face clam! Which is really cool to me, cause we get so many different versions of Simon from the fandom🖤 and also, masked characters make brain go brrrrrr.
I am mostly in it for the fic, and there’s tones of good fanart. Not to say I don’t know anything at all, cause I have read the fandom wikis/synopsis of the games (though I’m a little rusty on my knowledge,,,, again I do want to play the games, I just.. wasn’t in a video game mood all last year). I’m just… sometimes info dumping is hard.
But yeah. The fic is freaking good. Like, I was looking for military themed romance novels the other day and I legit couldn’t bring myself to start any cause I’m worried it won’t live up to ghostsoap🤣🤣🤣.
I was gonna give some recommendations, but I uhhh…. I have realized I mostly bookmark the good smut, and only have a couple fics that aren’t smut, but they are SO ANGSTY🤣🤣🤣. And then one long fic, but it’s ghostroachsoap (roach is a player character from the first mw2).
Gosh. What can I say about ghostsoap…… they are black and red coded characters??? (Not Actually, but in the fandom way. Ghost is black, Soap is red. I don’t know if that’s even still a fandom thing lmao).

My 2023 In Anime
Ah, 2023. What a year! According to my Anime Planet custom 2023 list, I watched 20 anime this year. A couple of them I haven’t finished yet and a couple of them are DNF. As the year dwindles down to its final days, I’m gonna take a look back at what anime I watched in 2023. Beware of spoilery discussion for all of the tagged shows.
Sorted by season and then in the order they appear on my list.
Winter 2023
Nijiyon Animation: Nijigasaki is my favorite flavor of Love Live (it’s the first one I watched, I like the characters a lot, the songs are great and there’s literally a girl also named Emma in the cast) and so I will never say no to more Niji. Cute fun bite-sized episodes. There was even a touching farewell to Tomori Kusunoki as Setsuna. I just saw that they’re going to do a second season, so I’m looking forward to that.
The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague: Holy crap, this show was a pretty little nothingburger. Literally NOTHING happened aside from the characters becoming friends. The two leads didn’t even kiss?!?! I wanted to see how they might handle that - the idea of people who are imbued with yokai powers is a neat one, but oof. This was unsatisfying.
UniteUp!: My dark horse favorite of the season, a bishonen idol show that dealt with some of the more realistic/uglier aspects of fame and the idol industry specifically. There were some production delays (that’s the story of 2023 across the industry, isn't it?) but I actually really enjoyed how they handled those - they showed these neat behind the scenes episodes with the voice actors. I love behind the scenes. The characters have a lot of heart, the songs were really good and the dancing looked excellent too. I think this is getting a second season too? If so, I’m thrilled to spend more time in this world.
Handyman Saitou in Another World: I actually watched an isekai! Holy shit! But it wasn’t one of those lazy paint-by-numbers isekai shows that are just a dime a dozen. I like how it showed Saitou using his skills (undervalued in our world) to get stuff done in the high fantasy world he found himself in after a Truck-kun situation. There WAS a bit too much fanservice for my liking - I’m a sports fan, so I’m used to that “oof, as a cis woman I am NOT the target demo here” feeling lol, but still - and I feel like they did a few too many “he’s dead! But not really because magic!” fake-outs. But hey! Ai Fairouz was in the cast here! I like her!
Buddy Daddies: OHHH did I enjoy this one. Great music, I love Kazuki and Rei, you could tell there was someone on the staff who is a gearhead based on how they portrayed cars, Miri is great, lol at how they overcome bureaucracy crime-style…Tumblr loved this one and with good reason. Also I definitely ship those two guys lol. The one downside is I feel like they kinda fridged Kazuki’s wife and Miri’s mom. They could’ve done a bit better by their adult female characters. I do still get the opening song stuck in my head now and again, though.
Soaring Sky/Hirogaru Sky Precure: Folks, this is the year I got Precurepilled. I tried Delicious Party last year but bounced off of it after episode 1 - it just didn’t hit for me somehow - but this one GOT ME! This is still ongoing and will be through the end of January (50 episodes y’all!), so I can’t speak with finality about it, but so far so good. The first boy Cure! The first adult Cure! She drives a Hummer for some reason lol! I think Mashiro is my favorite! It’s been so much fun to theorize about the story (I was SO wrong about Yoyo being Sora’s hero from her childhood, ha…) and watch it unfold. I do think they waited a bit too long to bring in the Kaiserin storyline, but hey, we’ll get a few more episodes to wrap everything up, right? As for Wonderful Precure, I don’t know lol the concept isn’t getting me hyped up, but I will at least watch episode 1 and go from there.
Spring 2023
Kira Kira Precure A La Mode: Still the only Precure season I’ve completed to date lol. This one was so much fun. I love sweets and baking, so I had great fun here, sometimes even shouting at the TV to try to help Ichika with her doomed bakes when she inevitably forgot baking powder or whatever. When I realized that Ciel had literally been in the opening credits since episode 1, that blew my mind lol. I DO wish they would’ve just let Julio become the first boy Cure, but hey, he walked so Cure Wing could fly. Himari is baby and Akira/Yukari is Haruka/Michiru for the 2010s. Aoi’s band made some good music. The very last scene was very sweet. Both ending songs are total earworms. Good stuff.
Skip and Loafer: This show is SO FREAKING CUTE. I just love these goofballs. I love how Nao-chan is able to just be herself and is not subjected to transphobia all the time. Mitsumi is adorable and also extremely relatable. I liked this one so much that I’ve started to read the manga, picking up where the anime left off. (2023 is also the year that Atlanta got a Kinokuniya location, which is very exciting for me, though maybe less so for my credit card lmao.) Season 2 pls? I would love to spend more time here.
Gundam The Witch from Mercury Season 2: Damn, this show needed at least one more season. Preferably two more. I was fully expecting 50 episodes like what Gundam Wing got lol. It needed more time to breathe, to show us more about the other characters (Lilique my beloved!) and to flesh out the big story. But alas, this is not a perfect world, and what we got was still pretty damn good, and also Sulemio married. That’s my interpretation. That's everyone's interpretation, isn't it?
Star Twinkle Precure: I’m still working on this one, but I FREAKING LOVE IT. The day-glo 80s aesthetic is right up my damn alley, I adore the transformation sequences, we get dark-skinned biracial representation with Cure Soleil, I enjoy reading the horoscopes at the end of each episode (my Japanese is at about a preschool level, so it’s great that everything has furigana lol), there’s space stuff AAAAAND this season has my very favorite Precure song ever. One of the only two so far to be in a minor key, folks, it’s PaPePiPu Romantic time.

Summer 2023
Yohane the Parhelion: I enjoyed Love Live Sunshine a lot, but phew, this didn’t do it for me. I feel like it would’ve been better as a 3 or 4 episode OVA (ONA these days I guess), but just didn’t have enough story for a full 13 episode season. My mom is fond of saying “just okay”...like, it wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t awful either. Yohane the Parhelion is just okay. Please just watch Sunshine instead if you want to be introduced to these characters. Sunshine is so much better.
Zom 100: I watched the first episode of this and then didn’t bother with the rest. DNF. Sorry to hear about the production troubles - that’s especially ironic for this show.
Fall 2023
MF Ghost: The other DNF for me. Watched 3 episodes, heard they were about to introduce a character who is obsessed with 17-year-old girls, noped the hell outta there. Wasn’t impressed with the 3 episodes either. I love Initial D - we named our cat Hachi because she’s black and white just like the Hachiroku - but MF Ghost just had no heart or soul. The Toyota 86 was lovingly rendered but I hated the ugly black motion lines they added when it was moving. The race they showed was dreadfully boring, the worldbuilding felt extremely unrealistic and oooh did I HATE that “outfit” they put our underage race queen in, if you can even call that an outfit.
Overtake: Of the two car racing shows this season, Overtake absolutely wins. It looks great, it introduces F4 racing to the audience very well (there’s some show, there’s some tell, a good blend) and the characters have more heart in their pinky fingernails than the entire cast of MF Ghost combined. There’s a very real and affecting subplot about PTSD, realistic discussion of just how much racing costs for an amateur team and plenty of men being unafraid to feel their feelings and cry it out. Overtake is definitely on the top of the podium. It hasn’t gotten anywhere near the love it deserves - ANN didn’t do weekly reviews of it and Anime Feminist was hyperfocused on the lack of female characters (valid! But not a dealbreaker to me!) - so I hope that people discover it later.
Shy: Thank goodness this is getting a season 2 because we spent literally a quarter of the season focused on the Pepesha and her mother subplot. That could’ve been tightened up a bit - ANN’s review mentions how Amarariruku’s villain speeches tend to be very circular, which is exactly how I felt seeing Lenya explain herself for what felt like the 50th time over - and I was genuinely looking at the episode count like “uhh??!?” before the season 2 news came out. So other than that part being a bit too drawn out, though, this is a very interesting show with a cool concept (Teru experiences Personal Growth! We are so proud of her!) and I’m interested in seeing where it goes from here. Will we meet the USA’s hero next season? I kinda want to see who that might be.
My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer: Ai Fairouz is in the cast of this one too, so maybe she’s just what needs to be present for me to watch an isekai/high fantasy show? I did enjoy this one, even though the action scenes were a little bit lacking, perhaps above the skill level of the animators. They did do lovely watercolor-like scenery shots, though. The characters are charming (Belgrieve, total DILF, also giving us disability representation) and the opening song is a bop. They did leave the door open for a season 2 - for example, the question of Ange’s parentage was never answered, although it is VERY heavily implied that she is also a demon. I mean, the little demon kid Belgrieve takes in at the end literally looks exactly like her, for crying out loud.
Spy x Family Season 2: Haven’t finished this one yet - I want to watch it with my husband because he also likes it and we’ve just had a lot of stuff going on! We have watched 4 episodes, which means we’ve watched a bunch of one-off side stories basically lol. He even remarked at some point that the episodes felt weird. I was like “Well, because they’re only side stories!” From what I have read, it sounds like things are about to pick up plot-wise, so we gotta just make some time to catch up soon lol.
Power of Hope/Kibou no Chikara Otona Precure 23: I have not seen ANY of the Precure series that have characters appearing here, so I came in fresh. This was enjoyable! I was originally bummed that we didn’t get to see them transform as adults, but the age reversion to transform was done for big story reasons and made perfect sense in that context. The episode that showed how the town was devastated by firebombing in World War II was deeply affecting - war is hell, no wonder Bell was changed by it - and it was great to see Cure Black and Cure White turn up. It reminded me of all the companions coming together at the end of Doctor Who season 4. Total fan catnip, I love it. I have not seen Mahotsukai Precure either, so I’ll be going into their sequel fresh too. (Is that what was being teased at the very very end of episode 12? Yeah probably lol)
16bit Sensation Another Layer: My winner for best show of this season. As you may have gathered from my mention of Doctor Who just now, I like time travel stories, so “Listen, Konoha Akisato has come unstuck in time” appealed to me right away. This show also genuinely taught me things about computer game development. I have a deepened respect for PC-98 game art (I follow such accounts on here now lol), which would surely make Mamoru smile. Plus, I like how it has a core message of “You can be a woman who works on erotic video games and that is not weird or perverted. Follow your dreams!” Toya does, after all - I would have loved to see her team up with Konoha and it sucks that she was being manipulated by the evil company. The show did take a turn for the Matrix-y in the fourth quarter, and I do feel episode 13 was a bit rushed (Konoha opens Comic Party and then is just immediately back in 2023? She and Mamoru explain how they told everyone about being time travelers instead of us getting to see that reaction?), but dammit, I teared up at the very end anyway. What a show!
Magic User’s Club OVA: I remember renting videotapes of this from Blockbuster way back in the day, but I didn’t remember much about the show itself, so I decided to watch it again after seeing this AnimeBackWhen video about it. It’s so fun and charming! And Ikuko Itou designed the characters and Junichi Satou is the director - a bit of a Sailor Moon reunion lol. (Fun fact I learned just now is Chiaki J. Konaka did the screenplay. This is very very different from his work on Serial Experiments Lain.) I’m not done with it yet. The opening song is a big ole bop!
2024 goals:

Watch Gunbuster (another "I rented it from Blockbuster during the Clinton administration" story - I bought Discotek's new Blu-Ray of it, just haven't cracked it open yet lol)

Idk I think I discovered it in 2019 I think I can’t remember, BUT BUT, I had like this discussion with my sister telling her we should buy it and that I would pay for it and stuff and I finally convinced her, she liked the game, the one going crazy over it was me tho—

You get lost really easily if you can’t find Cornifer to buy the map of the area but that’s the fun part !! Just exploring random places and memorizing stuff is just so nice !! ALSO THE BOSSES OOF, I love every single one of them !! Sure there are some that,,, aren’t that fun, but at the end of the day they’re still pretty enjoyable !! It’s got plenty of nice characters my fav being Quirrel whom I have a plushie of (also a plush of like the void version of the player, plus a silly drawing I made, I would buy more merch but I’m poor also I have more fandoms to attend to so— I have some merch here and there of other stuff so well that’s we’re my money goes to :]]) also also !! Wheelchairs are so good tbh, like my stance (and the general disability studies/activism stance) is that if an accommodation makes your life better, you should use it. Doesn't matter if you could do [thing] without it, if it makes doing [thing] easier, you should use it!
Like I could just walk around with a dislocated/subluxated hip, but if I want to walk without pain then I need to use my wheelchair! The first time I ever used one was at a museum, and I realised it was the first time I'd ever enjoyed a museum cause I wasn't in horrible pain for once. After that, I started the process of getting my own wheelchair because it's so much nicer to live a life where I can focus on my surroundings without being distracted by pain!
Ooooh that sounds like lots of fun!! I know one of my friends plays it, but I've never actually seen it played. I may watch some playthroughs/streams of it or something to see if it'd be my sort of game, and if it is then I'll probably get it!! It sounds super cool from how you describe it, and I love the idea of gay bugs~

Ok, Skye. Here we go (it is not my intent to make you cry)
1)first exposure bias is a thing so it’s probably Dragon’s Care, but Fierce Revelations is practically tied.
2)Following the first exposure bias:the prologue that goes into why Link needed the events of Dragon’s care.
4) I love your writing of both Sunny Skies (Sky/Sun) and Wildflower (Wild/Flora)
5)I think I’ve read everything you’ve published? I subscribed to you within 8 hours of you getting on AO3
6)Owlan and Eagus’ interaction in Dragon’s Care prologue, the subtle hint that Link is cared about by the academy instructors. I know it’s dumb but so many of the Links have this aura of isolation that people lean into. It was nice to read the idea that there are adults that clearly care for him.
7)Chapter 2 of Fierce Revelations. I felt that gut punch you gave Time when FD said “Sky sometimes wonders”
8)Good adults! Even in Breath of the Sky, King Rhoam is softer than most people write him. It’s easy to lean into Link in all his iterations being a loner and alone but I love how you write the adults.
9)I don’t know if you have more Fierce Dadity planned but I’m looking forward to those.

Yayyy, A Dragon’s Care was my very first fanfic on tumblr so that makes it special to me, I’m always thrilled when people really like it! And the prologue was completely self indulgent lol, I was torturing the heck out of poor Link, so again, very happy you love it. :D
I love those ship names! Sky/Sun are my babies, my lovebirds, they’re my main Zelink ship and I adore them. ❤️ And wow 8 hours, dang, I’m honored. *blushes*
Writing Owlan and Eagus was by far my favorite part of the prologue. I love the idea that the whole community looks out for Link. He might be isolated depending on the Link, but I think in general he’s loved. Of the games I’ve played I definitely feel like TP Link and SkSw Link are the ones who have the best community to help them. It’s not dumb at all, I really enjoy the warmth of a helpful and loving community of good adults looking out for each other and the kids! That’s why I write it so much! That’s the kind of community we should all be experiencing and building. :) Even with more complicated characters like King Rhoam, who is just as human as the rest even if a lot of people don’t like him for his treatment of Zelda (which is warranted, because he did not go about that well at all).
Oof, yes, that gut punch really came out of nowhere, I was just writing it and FD said it and I was like wow okay might as well go there, then. XD Sometimes the characters get ahead of me haha, but it definitely makes for fun writing! I didn’t expect it to impact people as much as it did, I’m thrilled you really got into it!
I do actually have more Fierce Deity planned! Not well-planned, nothing really concrete, but I’ve got some straight up Fierce Deity stuff and a particular Fierce Dadity adventure that I’m trying to work out involving Link, babies, adventuring, FD being a fretting parent, etc. Hopefully I’ll work something concrete out.

Arc Two (redux) 47
An orange bolt blurred past the screen and Hadley swore. Never a dull moment. “So, Doc, what are these things called?” she asked as she blasted some sort of green tube creature out of its hollow in the floor. Two more gleamed in the gloom, their tentacle-like backs anchoring them to the metal floor. Hadley braced herself to dodge again.
To her surprise, it was Nyota that answered. “The common name is ‘omnicannon,’ for their ability to attack in all directions. Though technically, they are—” A pause, even more surprising. “They are parasites, adapted to work within the old plasma cannon. There was a study done on them about a decade ago.”
Hadley blew up a second one. “Right. Protectorate study, or…?”
“Or,” Nyota agreed, voice dropping to a murmur, and Hadley remembered how touchy she was about her secrets. “I can show you the files later. Just do not ask me to reread them.”
Hadley also remembered how touchy apex were about parasites. “Well, you’ll be showing me soon enough. Looks like I’ve hit the end of the road here,” she said. “There’s a door up there, but it’s way too small to fit this hunk of metal through.”
As if it had been waiting for her to say that, SAIL piped up through the earpiece. “The mech is too large to continue through this area. I advise that you proceed on foot.”
Hadley swore at the AI with enthusiasm. “Captain, if you take this earpiece back when I get back there, I’ll spare your beard, deal?”
“Deal.” To Nyota’s credit she almost managed to keep the chuckle out of her voice.
Hadley opened the hatch and hopped out of the mech. Dr. Akaggy could beam it up later. The door ahead was definitely human-sized, and old. Maybe older than she was. It still opened smooth, though. Hadley stepped through, stopped, and swore under her breath. “Hey Doc, you gonna tell us how you got your flippers on a USCM hulk?”
“Nope.” Cheeky bird. “They didn’t own it when I got it, that’s all I’m saying.”
“It’s likely that the ship was sold off,” Nyota told Hadley. Dr. Akaggy didn’t confirm or deny that. “Or it may have been abandoned when maintenance costs rose too high to manage. The USCM tended towards being deep in debt by the time I first encountered them.”
“Yeah, I remember Ma mentioned that.” Hadley turned on the spare flashlight she’d swiped from the ship locker and looked around. “Whoever got ahold of it, they didn’t bother scrubbing the old logo off the walls. Too lazy for that, Doc?”
Dr. Akaggy chortled at the jab. “I like thinking of it more as a victory badge,” she said. “Folks know exactly who I got it from. Even if I didn’t do the getting. It keeps my usual testers in line, at any rate. They like guessing how I got this thing, and not one of them’s been right. So don’t go telling.”
“Fine, fine.” Maybe she’d tease them a bit with it. But there didn’t seem to be anything else here. “So how do I get out of here?”
Right as she asked that, Hadley felt the telltale tingle of a teleporter locking onto her.
Dr. Akaggy chuckled again. “You ask. Righto, Captain, beam her up.”
-
“Oof.” Hadley spluttered and shook water out of her face and took the towel that Nyota handed her. “Thanks, Captain. That thing stank of fish and who knows what else.”
“I think it is best that we do not know,” Nyota said with some delicacy as she applied a second towel to Hadley’s short hair.
“Okay, yeah. Good point.” The firm, brisk movements of the towel made Hadley grip the edge of the sink with one hand, but they were weirdly soothing. “Tell you what, Captain, you could get a part-time job as a sanding belt.”
Nyota stopped. “Too rough?”
“What? No.” Hadley tried a dismissive wave and flicked water all over the mirror. “You’re just really strong.” She finished drying her face off and flopped the first towel over the edge of the sink. “Good rhythm there.” She hesitated a bit. “It felt nice.”
Nyota hummed, not quite a purr, and started up again, just a little gentler. “It is so easy to forget how strong I am,” she murmured. “And so hard to use that strength right.”
“You didn’t really seem to have much problem before,” Hadley told her.
She chuckled softly. “Before, I was fighting.”
The shoe dropped. “Oh.”
“Yes.” Nyota finished drying her hair and hung both towels back up on their rack. “So. If you will spare me a moment of business—”
“I get a choice?” Hadley grinned, but Nyota’s smile stayed formal.
“You do,” she said.
Hadley stopped teasing. “You mean that?” She fiddled with her uniform jacket and pulled it back on. “Well, sure, I guess. Keep talking.”
“Dr. Akaggy said it would take her three days to obtain the parts she needs to build you a custom mech, which gives us ample time to prepare for that excursion.” Nyota always used bigger words when talking business, but for once Hadley resisted the urge to roll her eyes. It was probably an apex thing anyway. Or something she’d kept from the Miniknog. It was still hard to think of the big stoic woman as one of the monsters that her brothers used to scare her with like a space-bandit’s boogeyman. Then some days it was all too real. Like right now, when the bathroom lighting gave those tawny eyes a sudden solarium glow.
“Oh—sorry Captain, I must have zoned out,” Hadley said in the silence that opened so fast around her.
“It’s alright.” The moment was gone and her eyes were gentle again, if always reserved. “You had a long day. The report you wanted is on the tablet in my work room,” Nyota said, referring to the room near the teleporter. Captain’s workroom had started as an affectionate nickname for it, but it really fit. She was almost always in there, tinkering away, if she wasn’t reading or helping Eldie with her needlework.
“Ah right.” Hadley had almost forgotten. It had really been a long day. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” Nyota started tidying up the shampoo bottles on the edge of the shower. “It’s USCM, so it shouldn’t need translated, but SAIL can take care of it if you need that.”
“USCM, huh?” Hadley watched her, curious. “Must have taken some doing to get that, seeing as how they went defunct years ago.”
“I know.” Nyota straightened. “I’m one of the reasons they did.”
Leaving Hadley to digest that, she smiled and left the room.

What was the first muse that you’ve written?
I answered this here, but... I don’t know what came first, it was either writing dogs or writing Sailor Moon. One of those two things! It’s been so many damn years and I honestly barely remember what happened two days ago let alone what occurred like over a decade ago lol. I feel like I want to say the dogs came first... But I have no idea.
Do you still write your first muse?
Nope, well actually... I mean no but yes? Mostly no. I don’t write anime anymore and I likely never will again. But I still occasionally write animal muses, and I do have a dog blog on here.
How do you describe writing / rp to others?
Answered here as well, but because I really don’t talk about roleplaying unless it’s actually with somebody I know who also roleplays... The most I’ll say about it is that it is like writing a story with someone.

Are you happy with how your favorite canon muse was portrayed in canon?
Oof this is such a hard question. Making decisions is impossible and picking one favorite to talk about is so painful. I have so many options... I guess maybe since Bailey is a Last of Us muse, I’ll talk about Ellie from The Last of Us. So in the first game I absolutely love everything about Ellie, zero complaints whatsoever, and she’s obviously a character that helped inspire Bailey. The second game? I was disappointed to be honest. There are some parts that are done very well, but in my personal opinion, I feel like Ellie’s overall character was just... It just didn’t really feel like Ellie? And I do get that she’s a little older now and loss changes people a lot, especially the way that she lost Joel, but regardless, she still just feels more like a stranger to me in the sequel. She doesn’t even pick up the video game system thingy after killing that random lady? Like?? Super tiny detail but still lol, there’s no way Ellie would pass that shit up.
Who was your first OC?
Gosh, I have no idea. She certainly wasn’t my first, but the only OC I can actually remember from way back when is one I named Elena and she was a vampire, I had her on tumblr for an extremely short time, I had never ever written on tumblr prior, it was my first time. I wrote her on some other roleplay site primarily. And no, I did not make a vampire named Elena because of The Vampire Diaries. I came up with the idea before I started watching that show lol.
Do you still write your first OC?
No, I don’t. I wrote her a good while but eventually she fell off the face of the planet and I haven’t looked back since! Honestly, my OCs way back then were very poorly done anyways. Not that I couldn’t develop her better today, but I just have no interest in it.
In what fandom did you start?
Anime, I was obsessed with anime for a HOT ass minute, so I was writing a lot of anime. I don’t anymore, I really don’t even watch anime anymore either.
Have you ever started to ship a rare-pair?
I don’t think so? I mean, I support other people’s rare or unpopular ships, but to be honest I don’t really invest much into shipping. I just don’t pay much attention to it. Like it’s cute and I enjoy seeing the dynamics but I just... I dunno, whatever? If it’s me shipping a muse with someone else’s muse I’ll probably be happily invested but other than that I don’t pay that much attention to shipping.
What are the trends when it comes to writing that you adore?
Err imma be honest I don’t really know what the trends are. Like I know what the word means but also I don’t because my brain 100% fails to comprehend? So I apologize in advance if the next two answers are absolute potatoes... I don’t entirely know what to say. I mean, I guess it’s real nice that most people aren’t so judgy about your writing or how you format? Cause everybody always writes so dang well and I’m just like, meh. I don’t think you’d consider that a trend but whatever I love nice people that’s all I got.
What are trends when it comes to writing that you dislike?
Same concept above my lovely confused brain. I am just going to say a random ass thing I dislike... Like, I guess maybe, a lot of people if you follow them first (and they follow back obviously) they expect you to put in 100% of the effort to interact and everything while they put in, literally, zero, zero effort whatsoever. Again, don’t know if you’ve call that a trend but that’s what I got lol.
What’s something you find weird on here?
This is also answered here, a few things I kinda find a little bit weird but of course people can do whatever they want to. Some people have crazy strict rules, and ridiculously long lists of banned faceclaims — I did not know this was even a thing people did in the rpc until I returned to tumblr this year. People who follow you and then ignore all your interaction attempts, or make zero effort whatsoever to interact. Some people hate it when you message them just to chat, like, ooc chat, I just don’t quite understand why but that’s as someone who really loves chatting ooc. And lastly, people who won’t interact with you if you’re a multimuse of only female or only male muses because it means you are “sexist” and that’s just hella weird, because people write who and what they’re comfortable with and it ain’t that deep. People can write who and what they want.

OOF—I’m super picky with what I read AND write, so strap in for these answers lmao
S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?
typically what I write and what I read are fairly similar all across the board with the exception being: I’ll usually give a well-written fic a solid chance even if it’s about something I typically can’t fucking stand (crossover fic/modern aus/etc)
BUT!!! no matter the fandom no matter the pairing I can not get ENOUGH of canon divergent stories and fix-it fics. I love when I can read a story where an author took one look at canon, picked a point in the story, and then took the story in a different direction than canon did. as someone who has Big Qualms with the source material of their last few fandoms and the way canon has gone, I’m obsessed with canon-divergent fic. fuck! me! up! also as I writer I usually default to this setting when brainstorming fanfics. it’s how call of the night was born, it’s how changing skies was born, pocket full of stones, swallow your sleep—most of my Big Projects are born from me squinting at canon, going *taylor tomlinson voice* “okay, not this,” then throwing a dart at the canon timeline and diverging from there.
honorable mentions go to hurt/comfort stories, dark fic, and any sort of “enemies-to-lovers” variation. they don’t even need to start off as enemies. they can even be “friends to lovers to enemies to friends”. it doesn’t even matter. show me some ups and downs besties! show me just WHY these character can’t avoid each other within the story 🤩 more shoutouts to slow burn and all other forms of angsty fic. chefs kiss baby
T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?
I have and will ALWAYS despise with every ounce of my being, love triangles. I fucking hate them. I hated it in twilight, I hated it in the hunger games, I hated the fake version we got of it in naruto, and I hate it in fic. no exceptions.
now, I DO allow one-sided infatuation with a member of the pairing (for example: if jacob’s crush on bella would have remained one sided I would have had a much more enjoyable time reading All Of Eclipse And BD) but as long as it’s made apparent that the infatuation ain’t going to effect the main pairing in any stupid way i.e. one member of the ship is like “oh maybe I DO feel something oh woe is me!” then I can tolerate it. that doesn’t mean I don’t love a little spicy drama initiated by a third party who may or may not feel some type of way about one member of the pairing. but once that line from A to B morphs into a proper triangle and includes a C? i’m out. your fic better be fucking spectacular if I’m going to keep reading it

-It’s been a while, but I’ve watched my recaps, we should be fine.
-Mmm, Elaida vastly underestimates Fain, this spells disaster, hey ho.
-Oh yay, more Logain and Siuan. I did want to see more of them interacting.

-I, too, like that Mat has a smile like a boy about to do mischief, Melindhra.
-Rand with people he’s known since childhood: aloof, distant, wary, abrupt, who is this man. Rand with Aviendha: NOW LISTEN HERE, I only kissed Elayne those few times, and…
-Lol, girl, Aviendha fancies Rand so hard.
-Mat, I’m gonna need you to stop with the “these things always happen around you” comments to Rand.
-Oooh, it’s really cool how balefire works.
-Galad a Child of the Light, oh no.

-I really really like how Bryne came to be with and assist the Aes Sedai.

-This is Nynaeve’s story, everyone else is a side-character.
-I don’t understand why I find it so satisfying to see Rand snap at people. Dammit, it’s so refreshing to see him emote at all, when he’s usually so secretive and vague and bitter.
-I love seeing Mat and Rand interact, even if they snap at each other.
-Obviously Moiraine is expecting to die soon, but isn’t it too soon?
-Oof, the Rand-Lanfear showdown is iconic.
-Is Moiraine going to push Lanfear and herself inside the doorframe
-Surely Moiraine will come back…? Eventually…? Like… Gandalf…?
-Argh, I love Rand’s POV in this book.
-Aww, why Verin, I like Verin, why did you have to name her like that
-I’m very comforted that Mat and Rand are in each other’s proximity, idk.
-But the Lanfear thing JUST happened and was a total disaster, what exactly do we hope to do against Rahvin.
-It’s nice to see Rand’s and Mat’s different reactions to Moiraine, considering they started at exactly the same point when they met her.
-I really enjoy Mat, and part of it is that he’s a genuine wildcard. With Rand, you don’t know what he’ll do next because he’s deliberately holding back. With Mat, you genuinely don’t know which way he’ll go because he’s that kind of character, otherwise he’s very transparent.
-Ugh ugh ugh, I really like Rand’s struggle of “I must be hard, I’m not hard enough, I must become hard.”
-An a’dam for Moghedien, nice, Nynaeve, nice!
-’Scuse me, Mat and Aviendha aren’t really dead, right? ‘Cause THIS I didn’t sign up for.
-”I will not hurt you, but you could be hurt if you stay” to the servants - these moments of kindness from Rand, I still love him :(
-”And there was Mat [...] content to let someone else do the fighting now that that was possible” - yes, king, do the bare minimum! :’DDD
-Oh, they did die! And it was reversed bc balefire! Nice!
-Rand has cried twice in this book.
-Ugh, Rand laughing genuinely as he tells them “You’re alive,” how long has it been since a real laugh, I can’t with this boy.
-I’m really really curious to see if Rand’s eventual arc IS to become hard and less than human as the Lord Dragon, OR to find the Lord Dragon’s strength in being as human as possible. Which lesson does he have to learn, I’m so curious.
-Noooo, who killed Asmodeannnn, you can’t leave us like that!
-I enjoyed the book so much, but my God, the ruthlessness of literally no Perrin at all for the Perrin fans?? I’m slightly ashamed to say I didn’t miss him, but if this had been Mat, I’d riot. I already rioted when there weren’t enough Rand chapters in the third(?) book.
