the craziest thing to me is how the south african lawyers are making a very strong case even without mentioning countess more atrocitues israel has committed. so far there has been no mention of the use of white phosphorus, of settlers' violence in the west bank (since the case is specifically about the people of gaza) or the killing of over 100 journalists, just to mention a few.
i know its just the opening hearing but to think that there is still SO MUCH that has not made it into any speech drives me crazy
If The Hunger Games series was released today, with The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes released first, you wouldn't be able to use it as a discussion of colonialism and imperialism because you'd have entire circles of the internet dedicated to proving that the author is wrong and actually Snow is the true victim and screaming "Oh my god this is so disrespectful how dare you bring real world colonialism into your fandom discourse just to justify your faves. Stop moralizing fiction! Now let me tell you about how my meow meow isn't a colonizer and also Katniss is a crazy fascist."
Sidenote: The Hunger Games universe is an amazing distillation of the core-periphery model of colonization and imperialism and I will not shut up about it they should honestly teach it alongside Decolonialism 101 in schools which is why you know they won't.
I'm seeing a lot of people leaving comments and tags about their country not taking part in the hearing, and honestly? With countries like Australia, Canada, and Germany staying out of it, that's probably for the best. Any imperial power that sat out probably would've supported the Israeli occupation, or given some weak not taking sides bs like the Dutch did. By staying out, that's one less voice attempting to give legitimacy to Israel's illegal occupation, which overall I think is a net benefit to the case. The ICJ will be taking all arguments into consideration and as it stands, the vast majority will likely be in support of Palestine's right to self-determination.
In the end, abstentions support the winning side by not supporting the losing side
Based on the Wizard of Odd dream, and Candace's reaction in At2D, I am like 99% sure Candace knows that Perry is a secret agent subconciously, but I don't think Candace truly comprehends Perry is an agent. But she has been shown to actually think about Perry's activities such as in "Where's Perry" when she's the only one trying to figure out how he got there, or in "Happy Birthday Isabella" when Candace genuinely seemed contemplative about where Perry goes.
What makes it really fun is that she's friends with Vanessa, Stacy and is dating Jeremy, who probably doesn't know Perry is a secret agent but sure got rambled to a lot by both Doof and Monogram about their Perry related work. And she had personal interest in Dennis the Rabbit and the Where's Perry incident. I think the only thing holding the whole facade up is that Candace does not want to believe Perry is a secret agent unless she absolutely has to. She's already got enough stuff to deal with. But that doesn't mean she's not suspicious.
LMAOOO yuuji being a jealous little boyfriend (or best friend just to appease the non shippers ) is so funny to me. like imagine the chaos. gojo would totally fuel the flames just to see yuuji suffer over his mutual pining.
like imagine he just come across megumi summoning his dogs for yuuta bc he notices yuuta feeling down & yuuji just being so appalled bc THOSE ARE HIS GOOD DOGGIES & those dogs look like it loves yuuta more than megumi (but it’s okay yuuji is the rabbits favorite…probably.)
So I followed the Russian coup for most of the time it was active, I think I have a good handle on what happened. The end feels like the last season of a television show where they've been unexpectedly cancelled and the writers decided to make an ending that makes no sense to the actors or the people watching the show.
I started out initially trying to manage my weight, now I enjoy being out on the road. There is always time to run. This is a reminder: THERE IS ALWAYS TIME TO RUN. My mate Brad made a post that kept things in view. 🎧🏃🏾♀️ (May 2023)
can’t wait for some of the people here, those who were silent and stayed friends with a zionist, to pretend they were always on palestine’s side after israel is found guilty of genocide by the icj.
The movie is about Amina, a Queen who lived in the sixteenth century city-state Zazzau (known as Zaria, in Nigeria).
It's not known if she really ruled Zazzau, but if she did, then she really rocked!
The movie is definitely not historically accurate, it was made in the English language entirely and all, but it paints a cool picture of what her rule might've been like. Besides, I found it really fun to watch.
It's really inspiring to see a Warrior Queen, and I'm definitely a fan of these! As long as they are believable to me!
Definitely the best (and only one I remember) African badass queen movie I've ever seen so far!
