Incredible things I’ve learnt from the AFK Arena artbook lore

I’m still going through it so expect there to be more updates as I go, I just need to share this or I’ll implode! Spoilers(?) ahead!

There’s a multiverse

Dura and Annih, while being the two most powerful Esperian deities, are still but little wee children in the cosmic grand scheme of things. Dura is the favorite child.

The weird space tentacle lovecraftian monster’s name is Uemiss and he created the one and only utopia in Esperian history, before the gods got jealous of his popularity and murdered almost everyone.

Dura has a tendency to yeet artifacts that hold the fate of the entire multiverse at every problem she encounters even though she was specifically tasked with keeping said artifacts hidden.

Khazard went through a LOT of shit.

Zaphrael became a god after saving another god’s life. This man. This MORTAL man. Saved a god. Let that sink in.

Literally all the gods except Dura supported Annih’s decision to introduce humans to alchemy, and none of them ever owned up to that shit.

Dura first took decades to do anything about the Ya torture but then also took a full century before giving the Wilders a place to live, leaving them wandering the desert wasteland after taking them out of the oasis she gave Maulers.

Dwarves are actually pretty cool and decided not to fuck with humans a long time ago.

Quaedam was kind of an idiot in life.

The inquisition of the Lightbearer Temple literally only came to be because the temple was afraid it was losing power.

Thoran is between 750 and 800 years old, Grezhul is about 10 to 30 years younger.

Niru and Shemira are around 530 years old. Hodgkin is around this age as well.

Oden is between 200 and 250 years old.

Seirus is between 85 and 90 years old.

Sonja and Nara are between 40 and 50 years old.

Isabella is chronologically around the same age as Fawkes and Raine.

"Kafka, it's almost day reset. If I don't get my dailies done in the next ten minutes, I won't be able to claim the rewards." There was a whiny undertone to the young woman's complaint. The Stellaron Hunters had been out on a mission all morning and afternoon, and it was now system time 16:48:21. Part of being a hacker and a gamer was having a good memory; a certain amount of bandwidth in Silver Wolf's head was taken up to memorize the times associated with reward resets in her games. System time 17:00:00 was rapidly approaching, with not a second to waste. Surely, Elio's script could accommodate a measly few minutes to speedrun daily commissions?

Of course, nothing was stopping Silver Wolf from spending lavishly on ingame currency to make up for whatever she might have missed, were the day to roll over. However, to her, it was about the principle of things: keeping up her daily gaming streak to get the max amount of rewards, and feeling like you actually earned your gacha pulls. What's the fun of tossing exorbitant amounts of money at a game she would eventually beat in totality and grow bored of immediately? It's the challenge and the effort that matters. Funnily enough, this line of thinking also aligned to her view of life as a whole. Life to her was a game, and she'd long since maxed her level on Punklorde before Elio found her. Now, being able to traverse countless worlds and meet millions of NPCs and likeminded gamers meant she was living the dream.

System time now read 16:49:51. Silver Wolf did not even wait to consider Kafka's response, nor did her eyes peek up at the chaos ensuing before her (though she did wish Sam and Blade would pipe down a bit; her wireless earbuds were out of charge and all the combat noises in real life were drowning out the OST to her game). It's not like she could have exactly helped with the brute force work anyways - that was not Silver Wolf's expertise. Her deft fingers rapidly tapped across the screen of her phone, equipped with state-of-the-art processor to make switching between games and running multiple games within the screen easy. AFK daily rewards, collected; MMORPG commissions, completed; FPS battle pass rewards, claimed. Silver Wolf tabbed in and out from game to game. This was but a fraction of her true skill - support through technological means, even though it was now used for something that the rest of the Stellaron Hunters would consider "meaningless." Not to worry, she wasn't dead weight - the next time a security system needed to be bypassed, there truly would be nobody better for the job (as long as you don't mention Screwllum's name).

System time read 17:00:04. She was able to complete all of her game dailies except one. Really, by now she should have known to step away from the action so blood wouldn't get on her screen and murk up the display - that was precious time wasted to wipe it off and continue her missions. "Sam! Come on, I was on my last NPC dialogue!"

That was the last thing that poor fellow that now lay lifeless on the ground heard. It was almost a pity her "only" contributions to this mission were all the intricacies of getting the team from point A to point B, including intel collection and manipulating basically anything electronic in the vicinity for the benefit of the end goal. Still, a 5.1 billion credit bounty doesn't get put on your head without you doing something serious to warrant it. Criminal? Maybe so. Look at it from a different perspective - she just chose the villain class on this save of the game since it had the most story paths, that's all.

Occupation: Bounty hunter, mercenary, gunner, tinkerer, explosive expert. Repairs toys for children in need. Height/Weight: 5'4 || 150lb Markings: Scars on face and body in different places. Their left arm was replaced with specialized magitek. The trunk of their body has a set of five wires that wrap back to front in a stripe-like pattern. Each ends with a ‘node’ with lights. Lights can dim. This suggests further augmentation. The back of their neck features a metal clasp and port. It is hidden most of the time. Red “eye” on their right shoulder. Freckles… So many freckles…

Signature Accessories: -Bomb earring, which is also their pearl. -A mask, always a mask. -Always some sort of tech. -Alcohol or drugs… -And of course, a gun. (And knives.)

Quick Hooks: A storied history has left them traumatized but just like any other well-adjusted adult, they escape their reality with drugs, drinking, and dirty work. Their explosive personality and desire to punch things make them always ready for a fun fight, a good job, or just drunken brawling.

When they are not out throwing hands, Kit can be found wandering Ul'Dah for supplies. Kit’s company buys, sells, and repairs weapons, magitek, armor, and anything else a client might need in those areas. They also can just take on jobs just like any other adventuring guild.

OOC Notes!: If I have the RP tag up, feel free just to walk up. I am often AFK or just spaced out or tabbed out, so just send a tell if I don’t respond. I rarely ignore anyone’s walk-up. Kit is a fighter, but it is all in good fun. They are open to just about anyone for a conversation. I am all for OOC planning and even creating a pre-established relationship with folks too. :) I do try to keep the lore-breaking stuff to myself and private groups, so if that isn’t your thing, it most likely will not be brought up in RP.

!!Note about my roleplay!! Kit’s stories tend to bend or outright break lore. For that reason, any hooks that would do so, if that isn’t for you, just stay away from those plots! Kit is secretive about some of their stuff, and that is so I can happily RP in public spaces without making it too lore-breaky for those who don’t care for it.If you don’t care for it, please just let me know so I know not to bring it up! Light RP Hooks Easy to get into/non-lore breaking -Kit is a Tinkerer -Mercenary -Weapon making and repair -Kit works on repairing toys and radios and such for free for some people. Anything that would make life easier for the client and if they are in need. -Kit likes to fight. Wanna fight? Come on up. You’re better off just asking for a spar. You can pick a fight in a mean way, but Kit is more likely to ignore you if you’re coming up with knives out. Feel free, but be warned!

Lore Breaky/Deep Dark Plots Plots I keep hidden away because they might break lore or are too much for some people. Any aspects of these stories are kept hidden or are waved away as mundane things in public rp/people who don’t do lore breaking. -Hydra -Their Augments -Void touched/voidsent connections -Can create super weapons

Not many feelings on Raine. I totally get where the appeal comes from but between not agreeing with the fandom's weird fixation on her being a lesbian and me just generally not being into her kind of character, there's not really any deeper appeal for me.
