No I’m not joking. Hawkfrost’s father is Tigerstar. Tigerstar’s mother is Leopardfoot. Leopardfoot’s mother is Swiftbreeze.

Leafpool’s mother is Sandstorm. Sandstorm’s father is Redtail. Redtail’s mother is Swiftbreeze.

They’re second cousins.

There basically three family lineages in ThunderClan now- Swiftbreeze and Adderfang’s litter, which encompasses the Tiger kits (Tawnypelt and her brood and Tigerheart and Dawnpelt and their broods, Bramblestar and his brood and Sparkpelt and her brood, Hawkfrost, and Mothwing), the Willowpelt kits (Sorreltail and her brood and Poppyfrost and Lilyheart and Cinderheart’s broods and Larksong’s brood, Rainwhisker, Sootfur, Darkstripe, and Graystripe and his brood and Blossomfall and Stormfur and their broods), Redtail (Sandstorm and her brood and Leafpool and Squirrelflight and their broods and Lionblaze and Sparkpelt and their broods and Fernsong and Sorrelstripe and their broods), and Patchpelt (Swiftpaw, Lynxkit, and Longtail).

Next is the Speckletail and Smallear family which has the Goldenflower kits (Bramblestar, Tawnypelt, and Swiftpaw and Lynxkit) and the Lionheart kits (Brackenfur and his brood and see the Sorreltail part, Cinderpelt, Brightheart and her brood and Whitewing and Snowbush and Dewnose’s broods and Ivypool and Dovewing and Larksong’s broods, and Thornclaw and his brood and Stemleaf’s brood), Snowkit, and Mistlekit.

Finally is the Jake lineage with Firestar (and see Sandstorm’s part for the rest of that), Princess (with Cloudtail and his lineage with Brightheart).

And this basically leaves every cat in ThunderClan a descendant of these groups. Daisy and her brood.

You can throw Robinwing in there since basically the only two of her kits that have their own kits that aren’t in the other families are Dustpelt and Brundleface.

Fortunately for this particular scenario Sandstorm’s parentage has been officially retconned - she has no canonical parents currently. They even removed Brindleface and Redtail from being mates on the family tree at the start of this month (I think - they might have done it sooner) - so they’re not even a couple anymore. I have a feeling this was mainly done to stop Ashfur being Squirrelflight’s uncle.

It’s crazy how related ThunderClan are though like you say.Finleap, Twigbranch and Stormcloud are the only ThunderClan cats not connected to the ThunderClan family wreath in any way so far - everyone else is either related by blood or married into the wreath - so many cats are inbred.

Hollyleaf killing Ashfur would have been a great parallel. And if Hollyleaf still dies the same way then Hawkfrost would be killing his own daughter

So. I'm rereading my Warriors books after a couple few years (*cough* ten *cough*) being involved in other fandoms. Granted I haven't reread every book yet. But in Firestar's Quest we find out Spottedleaf and Tigerstar have Skyclan blood in them. I remember that was a fantastic discovery for me. I was excited to see cats from Thunderclan and maybe even the other clans leaping about. Even if they weren't as skilled at leaping about as you know, Cherrytail or Sparrowpelt that was fine. I just wanted to see some of my babies leaping. And as far as I know… that didn't happen. There was literally no acknowledging of it in any future books. Even hints. Absolutely nothing. And I was really sad. Still am really sad. I mean sure, I guess the non-Skyclan blood could've diluted it enough that they weren't able to leap about but that's no fun. And also we don't see that kind of dilution affecting any of the Skyclan descendants that became members of the new Skyclan so… that's kinda a weak defense anyway. And yeah, I guess there's a lot of cats with Skyclan blood and maybe they didn't think of Skyclan until Firestar's Quest. Still a weak defense because then you can integrate it into later books and there weren't actually that many in the beginning but then they went and had 50,000 babies. So you can still have a good time with leaping cats.

In my infinite wisdom, I decided to create a list of all the cats, based on what we know about Spottedleaf and Tigerstar, that should have Skyclan blood. It's honestly a lot longer than I had originally anticipated but whatever. I based it on the family members that were listed in each cat's Wiki page.

43 are/were Thunderclan (counting Hollyleaf cuz I wasn't really sure what to do with her).

LIKE COME ON imagine if Tigerstar (Tigerclaw) was able to leap like a Skyclan cat. THAT WOULD ONLY MAKE HIM A MORE FORMIDABLE AND INTIMIDATING THREAT!! Like… I know he doesn't just exist in the first series. Give me a leaPING TIGERSTAR DAMMIT. Or Squirrelflight! Wouldn't her name fit even better if she was able to straight up JUMP AFTER A FUCKING SQUIRREL? Or like something manages to startle literally any of the cats on this list and they just ROCKET into the air (bonus points if they are the type to get embarrassed by something like that). Do not tell me that wouldn't be fantastic. I would giggle for at least twenty minutes after reading something like that. But nO! APPARENTLY NOT!

An Attempt at Human Genetics Featuring the Humanizing Warrior Cats as my Test Subjects.

Before I begin I want to give a brief summary of what this is. It isn’t cat genetics. It is an attempt to create a realistic (well, semi-realistic) idea of how human genetics would work using a humanization of the WC characters using my preferred headcanons for them.

Human genetics is not easy. You could be 35% Great Britain-24% Scandinavian-38% Other with only 3% Italian/Grecian yet look Grecian/Italian. I state this because I do not want to deal with any discourse over what I’m about to formulate.

Basically, if I want to keep things semi-realistic, then the majority of the characters will have to be descended from a single ancestor, and thus look similar in composition (unless they are half-clan or outside the Clans.) Also: In order to keep things as simplified as possible, I am not doing the DotC (I’d spend DAYS combing through everything!), and instead focusing on Goosefeather and Moonflower’s generation and onward. Otherwise there will be a ton of 0.05% ancestry and so forth.

Just as well, the way I am going about this is that every generation, the genetics are halved. This is grossly simplified, but I’m not going to over-complicate things. That means I will be omitting all possibilities and instead focus on one possibility so I can save time. I am aware human genetics - all genetics, actually - have more than one possible outcome, but as stated, I want a consistent outcome, so the percentages with be halved each time. If both parents have the same ancestry (ex: one is 75% Irish the other is 25% Irish, then the offspring will be 50% Irish as 75 + 25/2 = 50.)

For example, Character A with 100% Irish gets with Character B with 100% Scottish and has Child C. Child C is 50/50 Irish/Scottish. Child C get with Spouse D who is 50/50 German/Swedish to produce Child E who is 25/25/25/25% Irish/Scottish/German/Swedish. Child E gets with a spouse and so forth.

Hopefully that example could express my plans efficiently.

Note: This relies on my personal thoughts on their ethnicity and races, and as such should not be taken as the truth. This is simply my way is seeing how the genetics would work. You could think of it as an experiment.

The full analysis and calculations are below.

Before I begin, here is a quick guide to how I interpret each Clan based on countries.

Note: I wouldn't look too much into it. It's random. What I basically did was pick based on characters in each Clans I thought really fit a specific country for no particular reason other than I liked the idea. (ex: Silverstream was always Italian to me; Kestrelflight is Indian [India], Rowanstar is Arabic and so forth) - ThunderClan: Primarily the British Isles, with Western Europe and American influences. Also, Mexico. I blame Berrynose.

ShadowClan: Northern Europe, Russia, and the Middle East, but primarily Russia.

WindClan: Southeast Asia and Eastern Asia, but mostly China.

RiverClan: Mediterranean, South America and Central America, and the lower half of Africa - it used to be mostly Mediterreanean, but has shifted towards Central America.

SkyClan: Canada. Aaand Australia. SkyClan isn't sure what SkyClan is and neither am I.

Tribe of Rushing Water: Pretty cliche, but I like to think of them as Native American.

Snowfur is 42.5% African, 32.5% English, and 25% Welsh.

Thistleclaw’s parents were Poppydawn and Windflight.

His siblings were Sweetpaw and Rosetail.

Poppydawn is 50% English, 50% German.
