— Precisa de um médico?

Abby não respondeu de imediato. Ela ainda estava um pouco atordoada por ter sido derrubada mais uma vez, a terceira nos últimos quinze minutos, por isso apenas balançou a cabeça e olhou para a ruiva a sua frente com uma expressão um tanto quanto confusa.

— O que?

— Perguntei se precisa de um médico. — Por uma fração de segundos, ela realmente achou que Scarlett estava perguntando pra valer. Talvez ela achasse que Abby tivesse se machucado ao cair, ou coisa parecida, mas então ela notou o sorrisinho no rosto dela, que denunciava que a ruiva estava apenas a provocando.

Abby revirou os olhos e bufou.

— Nossa, que bom. Além de pegar pesado, o sarcasmo vem de brinde. Eu tô adorando cada segundo dessa tarde de treinamentos.

— Nem tô pegando pesado ainda, Wilson. — Scarlett se aproximou e estendeu a mão para ajudar Abby a se levantar. — Tá bom, posso não estar indo tão devagar quanto antes, mas olha, meu trabalho aqui é te ajudar no treinamento, para que isso não aconteça lá fora, quando for mesmo necessário. Tá me entendendo?

— Certo. — Abby resmungou, assim que se colocou de pé, sentindo o corpo todo dolorido. — Eu sei disso, eu só… digamos que estou um pouco frustrada. Achei que nesse ponto, eu pelo menos não seria derrubada tantas vezes seguidas.

— Não fique. Você está progredindo bem mais rápido que o Logan e a Hazel, e eles estão aqui há bem mais tempo.

— Na verdade, isso realmente faz com que eu me sinta melhor. Obrigada. — Abby tentou massagear um dos ombros, e fez uma leve careta.

— Disponha. Mas e aí? Pronta pra mais uma rodada? — Scarlett já estava se colocando no meio do tatame mais uma vez, porém Abby ficou parada em seu lugar, perto do banco no qual ela planejava se sentar um pouco.

— Na verdade, podemos fazer uma pausa? Acho que por hoje já deu.

Scarlett pareceu pensar por um momento, até que por fim, assentiu.

— Tá bom, acho que podemos encerrar por hoje.

A ruiva fez seu caminho até a amiga, e sentou-se ao seu lado no banco, onde Abby já estava com as costas apoiadas na parede e com uma garrafa de água na mão. 

— Você nunca se cansa de treinar tanto assim? — Ela perguntou de repente, depois de um momento de silêncio. Como sempre, depois de uma hora juntas, Abby já sentia como se um caminhão tivesse passado por cima de seu corpo, mas Scarlett… bom, ela parecia ótima.

Ela deu de ombros antes de responder.

— É que eu tenho muita energia pra gastar. — Disso Abby já estava ciente. — E bom, já estou bem acostumada com essa rotina. Eu cresci treinando com a minha mãe, e você pode imaginar como isso é. Sem contar que os treinos matinais da SHIELD são bem mais pesados do que isso. Eu diria que o que estamos fazendo aqui é basicamente coisa de recruta nível dois, no máximo.

— Poxa, valeu. Agora seu elogio de dois minutos atrás não parece tão bom assim. 

As duas começam a rir, até que Scarlett levanta as duas mãos.

— Ok, desculpa. Eu geralmente não sou muito boa com as palavras. As coisas sempre parecem muito melhores aqui — Ela aponta para a própria cabeça. — do que quando eu falo em voz alta. Mas de qualquer jeito, eu gosto bastante de treinar com você, sabe? É divertido.

— Aw, viu? — Abby bate com seu ombro no ombro de Scarlett. — Isso foi bem legal da sua parte, me deixou mais animada de novo.

Scarlett sorriu antes de voltar a falar.

— Vou te contar uma coisa. Acho que você já está pronta pra ir comigo e com os meninos até a Sala HARM.

Abby franziu a sobrancelha.

— Sala HARM? O que é isso?

— É basicamente nossa própria Sala de Perigo. Ou quase isso. — Scarlett gesticulou com as mãos, enquanto tentava se explicar. — Quer dizer, não é nem de longe tão elaborada quanto a dos X-Men, então não eleve muito suas expectativas, mas dá pro gasto. 

—  Bom, eu nunca experimentei a Sala de Perigo dos X-Men, mas definitivamente já ouvi falar. Não foi onde o Ollie disse que quase morreu uma vez?

— Ah sim, mas o Ollie é exagerado. Adoro aquele garoto, mas ele tem a tendência de aumentar um pouco a história. — Scarlett desdenhou com a mão rapidamente. — Acho que ninguém nunca morreu em uma simulação lá. Até onde eu sei, só tiveram ferimentos graves, mas nada que não fosse superável.

— Como é que é?!

— Como eu ia dizendo. — Scarlett continuou, praticamente ignorando a amiga. — A sala HARM é uma sala para treinamento avançado. Temos uma na SHIELD e uma na Torre dos Vingadores. Os meninos e eu adoramos treinar lá, e acho que você pode se juntar a nós se quiser. Seu tio tem um recorde lá, no percurso aéreo, que ninguém conseguiu quebrar ainda. Vai ver que você tem mais sorte do que o resto de nós.

Parte de Abby queria rir daquilo, afinal, se ninguém mais conseguiu porque ela iria conseguir? Eles tinham mais experiência, afinal de contas. Mas uma parte ainda maior dela ficou interessada. Aquilo soava como um desafio interessante.

— É uma ideia atrativa… acho que você conseguiu me convencer, Romanoff. Vou dar uma chance pra essa salinha de treinamentos, e meu mais novo objetivo vai ser passar o recorde do meu tio. Quero muito ver a cara dele quando isso acontecer.

— Isso é uma coisa que eu também quero ver. Vou marcar com os garotos, e aí podemos fazer um treinamento teste lá, beleza? — Dito isso, Scarlett se levantou do banco, e começou a arrumar suas coisas para irem embora. Já estava ficando tarde, afinal de contas. — Quer comer alguma coisa antes de ir pra casa? É por minha conta, já que fiz você sofrer um pouco hoje. Você pode escolher o que vamos comer, o céu é o limite ... na verdade, não, o limite é de 20 dólares, porque é tudo o que eu tenho.

Abby não pode deixar de rir com aquilo. Era por isso que ela gostava de Scarlett, ela podia pegar pesado nos treinamentos, mas era uma companhia divertida. Não importava como, sempre conseguia arrancar algumas risadas.

— Você é uma figura. Mas ok, eu aceito uma fatia de pizza daquele food truck no fim da rua. E enquanto comemos, você pode me contar mais sobre esses recordes aí.

NOTA: Enquanto o Logan e o Aiden estavam apanhando dos Irmãos Blood, as duas estavam comendo pizza ASHUAHSUASUASHU mas olha só isso, 3 contos em 3 dias—o quarto conto só nesse mês, nem eu to me reconhecendo, mas não vou reclamar porque to me divertindo muito escrevendo eles ashaushaushuas vamos ver se eu consigo continuar assim 👀 já comecei a escrever mais um, e como as coisas tão acontecendo, ainda to aceitando mais frases pra novos contos !

in conclusion i will be devouring the rest of this series with a furious appetite and having a lot of feelings about it. a lot. patricia’s death caught me by surprise and boy did it have me teary. kudos to the showrunners but also they owe me tissues.

Practicing hair textures, and I figured the best way to see that was with white hair. So I decided to make a game to see how many DC characters have white hair, and apparently there's a lot of them. I also wanted to practice faces as well, since I'm a little worried that I'm starting to suffer from same face syndrome. I can be pretty lazy tbh.

Made a few mistakes here and there, like the black stripes in Abby's hair. But I'm fine with this drawing, except for poor Nathaniel Adam. I was trying to copy the artstyle from his 1987 series but well, I'm not happy with the result. Sorry Captain Atom!
