Oh gosh… what a mess. Why did I even post this up?

Well, it’s a WIP sheet with a few post-it notes sketches I had done. This is usually what the first/second stage of my drawings look like before I start cleaning them up and adding the detail. Most doodles are from Security Breach Ruin; there’s one from “Days of Laughs and Nights of Screams” (story by @justaduckarts) and there’s one from “Cryptid Sightings” (story by @naffeclipse) - I’m actually working on different pieces from these two awesome stories; there’s something from that metal comic I keep putting up; and a couple of other sketches that are actually from nowhere.

At the end of the day, it’s actually pretty relaxing to just sketch without having to worry about trying to make everything perfect. After all, if you’re working on something and not enjoying it, then why keep doing it?

What is he thinking here? Is he stuck in memory, reliving the moment he found Eudora’s body, over and over? Is he feeling guilty, remembering how he’d urged her repeatedly to take risks, fight the bad guys, no rules, no backup? Is he thinking how he always tries to protect the people he loves, but when one of them most needed him, he was absent?

Or is he not letting himself think about his emotions at all - trying instead to focus on the crime, on trying to solve it, on what Five is up to, on anything, anything but Eudora’s death?

Those twitching hands, the readiness of his stance, that focus - he wants to get up and do something, punch someone, hunt down the ones responsible…his friends or siblings would probably tell him to cool off, there’s nothing he can do right now - but he can’t do that, he’s waiting for a clue, an idea, a next step - or the one moment of inattention that means he can escape.

He’s probably been put in time out all his life, and it has never, ever worked. He doesn’t understand why people always call him a hothead! They tell him to SIT and THINK - well he’s SAT and he’s THANK, and now he wants to be UP and DOING, to put thought into action, before he starts spiralling, thinking about all the stuff he doesn’t want to think about...

when i played botw and avoided every divine beast as long as possible and didn't up stamina until my hearts were maxed. everyone thought i was crazy. but now i am playing totk with my one stamina wheel and my lack of any windy powers and i am thriving. i played hundreds of hours like this. this is just what hyrule is like, to me. meanwhile everyone who actually played the botw main quest in a reasonable timeframe is suffering.

It’s starting to heat up. But then it’s going down again?

It’s going to be a constant 102* in June-September because nice things aren’t allowed here and we must suffer. We’re supposed to get our designated 2 weeks of nice weather randomly in dec-feb and THATS IT. We have been too greedy. The end is coming.

Anyone else think short form social media based on algorithms designed to promote topics that create more engagement instead of more joy, the idea of fast fashion but conveyed through social media, and the fact you can monetize suffering and outrage better than ever has largely resulted in the death spiral of media literacy and the mass emergence of bad faith readings?

#I may be venting a lil but god it blows my mind #fyp is a blessing and a curse because i don't think ppl were ever meant to be subjected to this many ppl at once #god i took a bird site hiatus for weeks and now BARELY check it and it already feels like a hit #oughhhhh #even fandom spaces have hugely incorporated marketing and networking into them bc of cmms and sponsorship and building portfolio #which would be fine tbh if it weren't for the way socmed is designed #now it's like you can't support too many ppl or else you're shadow banned or you have to make yourself palatable and marketable #and websites with threads in which people will only read the first post before qrting because ratios are seen as five minutes of fame #features that permit beating an algorithm are locked behind a paywall that promises you money if you go viral #and what goes viral is usually incendiary content meant for those ratios or trends. whether for or against OP #even in hobbyist spaces the climate has changed so much due to the monetization and marketing and just. ugh #not to mention side accounts dedicated to gossip in this new priv account culture like...idk #if you have to make another account so you can make fun of a friend on main with selected priv friends it just doesn't sit well with me #and not every priv account does this but enough do and it makes me tired #unsolicited hate comments are still as bad as they used to be on ff dot net except now people openly are proud of it more #why do most socmed feel like passive aggressive sticky notes on high school lockers #there is so much more I could say about everything that has left me weary about the internet but I don't know the time or place #and I don't want anyone to think this is about them because it's a general statement. though if you are doing the more inflammatory things. #maybe rethink that. it's not good for anyone else and it's not good for you either #I keep coming back online to check on ppl and see art and I *know* it's draining for my health every time #but I feel a lot better now that i use socmed less overall. and that I try to focus on what makes me happy #it just sucks seeing so many people i care about endure absolutely wild struggles bc people online do not care. #I like rambling in my tags because this is the only place I ramble except my personal journal and to my wife

Jack stares into the bathroom mirror, rubbing lavender scented moisturizer into his face with quick, circular, motions. He spends extra time along the edges of the scar emblazoned across his face, though the scar itself is a lost cause. The skin along the edges is rough and raised, the vault symbol itself burned deep into his flesh and solidified into a metallic silver crust. It's not skin anymore; part of why it can't be repaired. His face belongs in a fucking museum- as far as his doctors can tell, nothing else like it exists.

Rhys is still in his bed, presumably. The front door won't unlock without his biometrics. It's the first time Rhys has been in his bed, though not the first time they've had sex. Usually it's in an office, either Rhys's or his own. Usually it's quick, informal. But, eating a home cooked meal alone under a enormous elaborate chandelier at an enormous expensive dinner table was feeling particularly pathetic now that the adrenaline rush of having a real flesh and blood body again was beginning to grow old. He'd bet Rhys's life on the assumption that Rhys hadn't eaten anything in days that hadn't come out of an Atlas vending machine. So, he called him up. One thing led to another.

And now he has a decision to make; leave the mask off, or put it back on. It's really not much of a decision. Sleeping with it on would be worse. Discomfort aside, refusing to be seen with it off in his own turbomansion would only highlight the fact that he's insecure. It's better to own it. He never wore the mask in the evenings with Nisha. But, Nisha was there. Nisha knew what had happened and knew to never say a word about it. Rhys is different.

When he enters the bedroom, he has only a plush, dark grey, towel around his waist. His hair is only wet around the edges; he didn't wash it, but he wasn't able to fully avoid it while washing his face in the shower. 

He strips the towel off in front of his closet, making sure Rhys gets a good view of his perfectly sculpted ass. Any excuse to show off. He pulls on a pair of super soft boxer briefs, black with yellow details, and hangs the towel on a nearby hook. Then he flops down on the bed beside Rhys, giving him a grin and a flirty inflection of his voice. "Hey."

I know I freaked out about Kate a while ago, and I get that this is in the same sentence, but somehow I also forgot that Sticky got to Stonetown by hiding on a river barge????

I mean, Stonetown's a seaside town??? I always assumed it took his parents forever to find him because of the Emergency, but this means he could have been from literally anywhere?? If we're still sticking with Stonetown being somewhere in New England, there's a lot of rivers!!! He could have been from a completely other state!!! He could have been wandering around for weeks not just walking on foot, but actually traveling at a vehicle-fast pace

Milligan probably saw him sneaking off the barge when he was hanging up posters or whatever and was like Oh shoot, I can't straight up abduct the kid, it'll scare him. Well, the test is only in a day or two, maybe if he shows up there we can help and, like, starts whistling really loudly and hangs up a bunch of posters specifically in that area to be sure Sticky sees one, and then once the kid's actually put some distance between himself and the boat (If he was sneaking, Milligan didn't want to accidentally expose him and get him in trouble) he walks by and is like "Why, hello there, random child. You look like someone who is looking for opportunities. Also do you want a sandwich?" and hands him a flyer directly
