I do think at some point in the not too distant future, the 911 fandom, at least on Tumblr, is going to have to reckon with the fact that despite M!slash being the main driving force of the fandom, gay men like myself are in the vast minority (I think a recent poll put us at something like 6% but it didn’t separate bisexuals by gender so it’s hard to say how many mlm are actually in the fandom) and in the same way being a gay man doesn’t exempt him from being incidentally or purposefully misogynistic, being some other flavor of the rainbow doesn’t prevent someone from perpetuating homophobia against men who love men.
At some point the jokes about how Tommy is just here for dick or should just get dick and move on (when he’s already made it very clear that he wants a relationship with Buck) are going to start to sound like hypersexual stereotypes of gay men. At some point the constant push to get them to break up as soon as possible and for Tommy to die or get shipped off to Arizona or wherever is going to seem less like regular ship hate and more like wanting a gay male character to be punished for daring to seek a relationship with a man in the first place. We obviously aren’t there yet but I do think we should be aware that it is fast approaching.

Hrngh I just. I don't want to argue with people but. Being an addict is not a moral issue. You are not more morally good and pure for never having experienced addiction. You are not inherently bad for being an addict. Like the recovery narrative centres becoming a "better person" or being "redeemed" BUT BEING IN ACTIVE ADDICTION DOES NOT MAKE SOMEONE INHERENTLY A BAD PERSON. You don't need to be redeemed. That kind of dichotomous thinking is detrimental to recovery, setting people up to see relapse as a moral failure, a weakness in character, something they need to repent and self flagellate for. When it's just... not. It's a part of the process.
And even beyond that, if you can't bring yourself to uncouple addiction from morality, you have to see that addiction never happens in a vacuum. To ignore the socioeconomic factors that contribute, the way that addiction and alcoholism intersect frequently with chronic pain, the way that our society is essentially made hostile to people experiencing addiction which then in turn self-perpetuates... it seems needlessly cruel as well as ridiculously individualistic. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps type of mentality. Poverty and chronic pain are significant contributing factors in many cases of long term addiction; it is far more useful to blame power structures that allow people to remain in poverty, their pain untreated, the inequalities and failed safety nets, disregard for vulnerable populations, all amounting to social murder. Choosing instead to place blame and vitriol at the feet of addicts is unhelpful at best and frankly malicious at worst.

do you guys think there's some birds who are attracted to macaque because he's essentially a zombie walking around? birds surround him because they can smell the dead off him and they try to peck at him but no one knows why they do this, like at all.
if macaque is a dead man walking and doesn't have a heartbeat, do you think his other organs don't work either? if that's true, i think he'd eat and drink as a way to get some sort of normalcy back and not because he actually needs to.
same thing with sleeping, HOWEVER, to me he has insomnia so while he likes sleeping he almost never can. it doesn't really affect him but he likes acting like it does because it genuinely makes him grumpy if he gets no sleep.
he also looks awful. like aside from the matted fur (and the MISSING fur) and the scars, his skin is slightly paler and he has patches where there's almost no pigment because there's no blood flowing through him anymore. he looks sick and i think that catches people off guard all the time.

I’ll add it to the Rentry when I have time but y’all. I’m fine with terms relating to celibacy in general ( there is nothing wrong with being celibate for any reason, just like there is nothing wrong with those who are sex-ambivalent, repulsed, or any other stance or orientation regarding wanting to have sex ) but if you have unironic “-pill / -pilled” terms ( ex. red- ) on your blog or are requesting them from me, I’m not comfortable with that. I will block you.
I’ve known someone who frequented spaces which made that terminology, seriously incorporated it into their life and outlook, and overall it just lead to them being depressed and becoming bigoted. It seriously hurt them, and it was hurtful to be targeted by that language. Communities which use this terminology for real can seriously worsen your mental health and make you think you’re unlovable or unwanted forever, or that you need to risk your health to become more attractive to others and “deserve love”.
That’s not true. I promise you are already worthy of love and that there are people who do want you in their life. If you’re in a rough spot, these communities and this terminology are not going to help you get out of it. They thrive on being negative, nitpicking your appearance, and getting you to lash out at other people and nitpick them as well. There are resources online if you need help with this, as well as are multiple studies on how they operate and stories of people recovering if you need to read them.
It’s fine to ironically use “-pill / -pilled” suffixes as clear jokes, especially ones which are pointing out how messed up or nonsensical these communities/mindsets are, but please don’t make serious flags or symbols which ignore how bigoted and harmful the actual terminology is and how these spaces have genuinely hurt people. Sorry for the long post that most people here probably know / agree with anyways

CW: angry rant
Why do people tell other people to die\kill themselves over the most stupidest shit ever. Like I saw 2 people telling other people to kill themselves in the tags of the Tumblr streamers thing (y'know the ad) just because dream was in it I know dream is a bad person but there's no reason to tell people to literally DIE and besides there's more mcyts\streamers than Just Dream so please don't tell people to kts over something so small
