Some (weirdly poetically written) thoughts on names and why S'ria's abuser has had his redacted out of existence:

There is never a name given -- not by us as authors, nor does S'ria give one to G'raha (not now and not ever). It's just always "Him", and G'raha uses that as well, both with an H that is audibly capitalized. S'ria has rarely talked about any of it yet, but whenever he does, it's immediately obvious what he means, because the pronoun carries so much weight in each sentence that it fairly creaks under the strain. (And sometimes S'ria starts to refer to Him by a different title and kills the word in his throat, and G'raha is prepared to fully pretend it never happened if it ever slips out.)

No, if a name is spoken, then He will be remembered again as something other than the concept of a dead man (and that's part of it, too -- handing G'raha the power to research this person and, "oh, he seems to have done a lot of good in his life, is this really the guy" becomes a possible thing that undermines his experiences, and that "h" is now very lowercase and flat. G'raha wouldn't. He wouldn't say that to S'ria, even if the man turned out to publicly be a saint. But the risk is unnecessary.)

Similarities between William and Tenn

I recently was analysing this whole ending, and I found some amazing similarities. I will definitely try to do some more when I get the time. For now, cherish these two and their similarities!

1. Soaking in the rain

For William, the rain is washing the facade he wears and reveals his true face, that is, for bringing peace, he can resort to anything. As for Tenn, I think it's the realization of the fact that the world's not always colorful. For understanding the true world, you have to wash the colorful sceneries that often mask how cruel the reality actually is. Likewise, to stand at the top, you have to face and fight the dark sides of the life too.

2. Drowning deep inside the water

This one is so pretty. You have to dive deep to learn every rule, may it be good, may it be bad. It might be suffocating, but that's the only way.

3. Reaching out to the top

In the whole process, you shouldn't, & mustn't lose yourself. No matter how dark the night is, there will always be a time when the bright morning will erase it. William tries to reach to the source of light, as he has almost faced everything, while Tenn is determined to find it.

I have seen fathers who have lost all their children pick orphans up into their arms and proclaim them their child so they are not alone. I have seen men and boys digging pets out of the rubble.

the men are innocent too. the men and boys are being hurt and killed too. the men and boys are grieving too. the men and boys are scared too. the men and boys are fighting to save their people too. the men and boys deserve to be fought for too.
