accompanying the beautiful acoustics, the lyrics convey being in a cycle of emptiness, feeling that everything is meaningless and wanting a break from it. even when happy things happen and you laugh, there’s that void feeling that never really leaves.

it reflects han’s own experiences with his mental health and anxiety, and it’s a song that struck close to me. i resonated with the lyrics, and it made me feel comforted. comforted by the fact i can see myself and my experiences through what was being sung over a dreamy like guitar.

it’s a song that i thought would make me feel sadder (like scars) but no, it’s like a hug. a welcoming hug that makes me feel warm and safe.

han’s outro specifically is like him writing down my own thoughts into a beautiful poem.

Okay but the irony of Jimmy Buffett dying on my birthday when I’m named after his daughter Savannah.

My mom was a hardcore fan of his in the 90s and early 00s so I grew up with his music - especially the deep cuts that not many know - and hearing the news of his death is actually pretty sad for me. The stories he told in his music were often very whimsical or emotional, and the sense of peace that came along with some of my favorites was always what I enjoyed the most. The world really lost an amazing song writer today.
