Ominis Gaunt x GN! Reader ; fluff

He's addicted to your scent. <3 (Reader is not MC in this one)

Ominis knows you're near through your scent. It's your most distinct feature for him. Sebastian almost thinks it's comical with how fast Ominis knows you're there the moment your scent wafts in the room. You think it's cute how Ominis lights up like a little crup who gets to see his owner after a day of work.

It can also be a safe haven for the young Gaunt. It never fails to make him calm and at times, it helps him destress from the noise of the world. You had been standing for about 30 minutes in the halls of the Defense against the Dark Arts Tower. Arms wrapped around you, holding tightly against his chest and face buried on the crook of your neck is your boyfriend of 8 months, Ominis Gaunt.

"Ominis." You softly call him, hand caressing the arm around your waist. He lets out a soft hum, pulling you closer if that was even physically possible. "Ominis, love. We have to move."

It wasn't that you were positioned out in the open. Ominis had pulled you in a secluded corner where teachers and students rarely passed. It was because the Undercroft would be a much more fitting place to fully give your undivided attention to the needy boy behind you.

Sebastian had been called behind by Professor Hecat on certain concerns regarding his behavior in class (He had accidentally jinxed Leander Prewett during a duel in class and let's say he's been doing extra work for Professor Hecat as part of his punishment). You two had initially tried to wait for him. However, Ominis, who was unusually clingy during class (always sticking close to you wherever you went), had pulled you to a secluded corner, thus your present situation.

"Sebastian's still with Hecat." Ominis muffled against your neck. He presses a chaste kiss against your pulse, which sends a shiver down your back. "Let me enjoy this."

"You can enjoy this in the safety of the Undercroft." You giggle as he presses more kisses, ascending to the side of your face. He stops, burying his nose in your hair.

"You smell nice."

"Creep." You tease to which he scoffs jokingly.

"I'm your boyfriend." He mumbles as he places his head back on your neck. You lean back against him with a smile.

"Doesn't excuse you being a perv."

"Rude."

"This is nice. I always love being near you. It helps me zone out whenever Sebastian rambles on and on about his little crush on the new fifth year." Ominis lifts his head to place his chin on your shoulder. You let out a soft laugh.

"I'll be sure to tell him that." You smile. "You're like a little crup, you know?"

"Are you calling me a dog?" Ominis lifts his head in amusement, turning his head to the direction of your voice. You look up at him, giggling.

"Cause you act like one. Sebastian tells me you've got a great sense of smell when it comes to me. I think that's a talent."

Ominis flushes at the information. He's become too aware of your presence that he unconsciously developed a sensitive nose to your smell. He's in love! What was he supposed to do?

"Aw, are you embarrassed?" You tease, pinching his cheeks. He only pouts, moving his arms from your waist to wrap around your arms.

"Well, deal with it cause I'm going to be stuck to you like a niffler with a coin." He mumbles, smiling against your hair. You turn towards him, his arms loosening in the process. Your arms pull him into a hug as you look at him with a smile.

"Wouldn't that be a dream?" You grin before pecking his lips. He lets out a small laugh before hugging you close. Too immersed with each other, both of you fail to notice two Slytherins standing a few pillars away with varying looks on their faces. One with disgust and one with sadness.

"I don't know how you do it, Sallow." Imelda continues to cringe as she watches the couple in front of her. "I'd want to fall off my broom daily if they do that in front of me."

Sebastian elbows her on the side, causing her to groan and writhe in pain. She gives him a glare, to which he responds with a sigh. "When will it be my turn to be happy?"

sorry if it’s nonsense, it’s 3:30am at the start of writing this lol

your art is fucking amazing, I wish I could draw like you. It expresses the emotions wonderfully without feeling out of place in the darker moments. Art style wise, you’re like my idol. I just want to fucking nom on it and shake it

your story is beautiful, honestly one of my favorite THSC AUs. It conveys darker themes without feeling too disconnected from the original series. I mean, even I struggle to make my AU actually seem like a AU. I really like Terrence as well, even though he’s still a bad guy he stands out much more then the other evil Terrys I typically see

the character designs are super original, and they work nicely. Honestly I have a problem finding the differences between everyone’s designs for Charles and Reginald, but I can always easily spot you. Personally design wise, Terrence and Charles are my favorites

I thought I wouldn’t like Danny, but I really do. I feel bad for what I originally thought. I want to hug him goddamnit! He’s such a pretty guy, and he gets bonus points for being bigender since I basically never see rep for them sadly

your comic made me realize 1. how abusive I really was to my ex, and 2. how abusive others were to me. I don’t wanna go into details (since I don’t want to make you uncomfortable), but your comic really did help me

Ahhh yes Terrence Suave! When I saw that frame of him in ITA and after a few fanfics I saw him as pure evil! >:D The thing that makes my Terrence stand out is that my Terry is honestly a DEMON! He is literally pure evil and loves blood, pain, and seeing men, women, and children suffer a slow and painful death! Basically I portray him as satan himself from hell with his snake like behavior!

Terrence Suave a literal traumatic man who suffered abuse who then realized he has no purpose on the world other then to abuse Reginald and KILL AND TAKE OVER THE WORLD AND KILL THE HUMAN RACE as an all mighty snake demon!

The point is ….my Terrence is PURE evil! My Terrence is a pure black heart 🖤 filled with anger, sadness, and trauma!

Just thought I'd post some random Pixiv recs for my fellow enjoyers of ZOOL shenanigans~

カキ has some really cute illustrations. This is one of my favourite collections, and I particularly love the how it started vs how it's going pic of Touma being all, "uhh, guys???"

猿川円 also does some lovely illustration collections. One of my favourites is a collection of stuff from APOZ and Beyond the Period, partly for this lovely scene of Minami being reminded of Haruki before rejoining the rest of the group.

ymd does a lot of gen stuff as well (along with some ToraMina if you like that sort of thing), and their art is super pretty. This comic collection is very amusing, especially this one. Very rough and short translation...

Haruka: This is hilarious. They’re saying ZOOL get along so well, the four of them should just live together and marry each other. Do we really seem that buddy-buddy?

Touma: M-marry?! Why would they say that!?

And then Haruka, Minami and Torao are like lol sounds like fun, let's do that, live in a crazy expensive Midou residence and buy a really big rice cooker, while Touma eventually just kind of goes along with it and is all

Touma: You really look like you’re enjoying this… Sure, why not. Let’s live together and be happy!

And then there's U, my absolute favourite ZOOL fanartist, who draws the most hilarious comics. I did a rough translation of this collection here when I sent an ask to @always-a-joyful-note, so I'll repost it here for good measure.

Q: Which entertainer do you message most on Rabbichat?

Minami: I... (Inumaru-san...)

Haruka: To... (Touma, I guess...)

Torao: To... (Touma, probably...)

Touma: It's Riku.

Minami, Haruka and Torao: HMMMMM????

Touma: He's always active on Rabbichat, after all.

And then to save face they all change their answers instead of 'Touma' or 'Inumaru-san' to...

Minami: Iroke no aru hito desu. (A certain sexy person)

Haruka: Toshiue no onna! (An older woman)

Torao: Toruko no onna. (A Turkish woman)

Touma: You can't answer with any of those! (We're idols, you know).

And now for some other comic translations under the cut to break things up a bit.

Like the last comic when they finish up work early so Touma asks the others if they want to grab dinner together but they all play hard to get, so he's like, whatever, guess I'll invite Riku instead, and they're like WHY AREN'T YOU TRYING HARDER TO ASK US OUT??? and he's like GOD YOU'RE SUCH A PAIN IN THE ASS.

I also greatly enjoyed this collection and this comic of the rest of ZOOL getting jealous of Touma's interactions with Riku the most.

Riku: Touma-san!

Touma: What’s up?

Riku: Take that~ *thwack* I smacked you with my towel, so now we have to hug!

Touma: Uh… I don’t really get it… wait, listen to me!

Riku: A hug with Touma-san~ *squeeze*

Touma: Get offa me already!

Minami, Haruka & Torao: … *THWACK THWACK THWACK*

Touma: Ow… that hurts! What’s with you guys? Are you bullying me?!

Also this collection too, and the comic of them bumping into Re: Vale.

Yuki: *staaare*

Touma: Wh-what is it?

Yuki: Those yaeba sure are nice. (They remind me of Momo’s) *just noticed*

Momo: Hey, Yuki, are you cheating on me? I’m supposed to be your number one!

Toao: That ice queen again. Hey, Touma, pull yourself together!

Touma: Yuki-san gave me a compliment… (Well, my teeth.)

Torao: What are you blushing for? Just what kind of relationship do you have with that guy?!

Again, another quick translation via an ask @always-a-joyful-note for this comic here, here and here of Touma's 'I love you' scene from Beyond the Period:

Touma: (Wow, Haru is actually saying 'I love you' to the fans. He sure has become cool. Okay, I should say it too.) I love... you... (Huh? Those two are really staring at me for some reason.)

Torao: Did you hear that, everyone? Touma just said he loves me.

Haruka: No, he looked at me when he said it.

Torao: He was looking at me longer though.

Haruka: No, he was looking at me 5 seconds longer than you.

And then while Touma's being all what the heck are you guys talking about, it's like...

Minami: I'm the only one you didn't say 'I love you' to.

Touma: No, it's not like that, Mina. When I said 'I love you', I meant -

Minami: I'M THE ONLY ONE YOU DIDN'T SAY 'I LOVE YOU' TO.

Touma: OKAY OKAY YOU'RE SCARING ME

The collection with the Monster Parade comic is also super funny because even teeny tiny mon-mon ZOOL refuses to leave Touma alone (sasagero fuwafuwa version?)

Touma: My shoulders feel heavy lately

Haruka: Isn’t that just you getting older?

Tora: Don’t tell me you’re being haunted

Minami: Fufu, has someone cursed you?

Touma: Don’t scare me like that

Torao: It’s tiny. It’s smaller than the bathroom at my place.

*A few hours later*

Torao: It’s small but it’s comfortable. It’s not so bad

While once again, the rest of ZOOL gets jealous of Touma's relationship with Riku and decides to take it out on poor Shirou instead.

Minami: Inumaru-san, are you drinking Li*ton again?

Haruka: Probably because of Nanase Riku

Torao: Yesterday it was Sougo. What a cheater

Touma: I’m just drinking Li*ton! But you know, collabs sure are nice. When I look at them like this, it makes me feel like I can do my best. Like I wanna see Riku.

Minami: Ohh….

Haruka: Hmm…

Torao: Hehh…

Minami: Utsugi-san, why aren’t we getting any collab jobs?

Haruka: If you’re our manager then you’d better get us some collab jobs!

Torao: If you don’t, we’ll tell on you to Ryou-san

Shirou: I get it already, calm down! (Inumaru-san, what have you been saying to them?!)

Speaking of Shirou, looks like Torao needs to be cautious around him too.

Shirou: Excuse me, about tomorrow’s 5 year anniversary…

Guuuuuuuys, I'm gonna cry ... soooo ... I need to tell you all about my German comic con experience and how I met Harry Lloyd IN DETAIL!

First of all, the piece you have all been waiting for:

AHHHHHH I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT! First of all, something I did not expect: Harry's autograph line was sooo empty. 🙈 The moment he arrived it was like ... 3 of us! Nonetheless, he was super sweet and friendly. When I told him I was here because I loved his performance as Viktor he was so surprised but happy about it! He immediately said, "Oh, I love Viktor!" and when I told him he was my favorite character Harry responded, "Mine, too!" So yeah, we bonded a little over our mutual love for Viktor. XD He gave me so many nice compliments and said the artwork is fantastic and 🥺🥺🥺 and my favorite comment of his when he saw the piece was "Well, usually Viktor doesn't look that happy!" 😂 and I had to admit to him that I was rather fond of sassy Viktor.

Eventually, I told him to put something motivational on it instead of my name and HE WROTE THE FRICKIN "CRANK IT" LINE! I secretly hoped that it would be a lil "crank it" or something but didn't say anything and he instinctively put it on there and I couldn't be happier 🥺❤️

But that's not all ... okay, I ... I got greedy ...

Yep, I also bought a selfie ticket, don't mind me here. :'^) It was so awkward coming to his booth a second time (as far as I could tell his booth was rarely occupied by fans and I kinda wanted another shot, because you know, no waiting in line, what an opportunity! Gotta give him that sweet money, this poor man should not sit here all alone!) and this time I was the only one in line and Harry was still the sweetest. He asked me how my day was and if I had a good time and even asked for my name because I didn't mention it the first time. And then we shook hands and he said "Nice to meet you" like A GENTLEMAN! I swear he was so down to earth, it was so wholesome. 🥺 If you get the chance to meet him, please do it! I highly recommend it! And my favorite thing while waiting in front of his booth was listening to the people making comments about him when walking by because some people were hilarious! I remember one girl going "I thought he was kinda ugly in GoT but what the hell he is SO CUTE in real life!" 😂 poor and lucky Harry.

The rest of the time I've spent walking down artist alley and giving away my other Viktor fan art copies to other artists. I met some really cool people and had great conversations AND they all wanted to give me their arcane artwork in return, so I basically traded all of my copies for other awesome art. That was so nice of them! 🥺 And yeah, simultaneously I had the chance to brag about my autograph and hopefully inspired a few of them to get one themselves. 😌 so much for my Harry Lloyd/Viktor propaganda, haha. (I didn't see a single Viktor cosplay though, that was blasphemy!!)

Overall, it was just so nice and wholesome! Thank you so much for motivating me, because without you I don't think I would have created so many Viktor artworks. 🥹 Sharing them on here with everyone is so dear to my heart! ❤️

I was gleefully telling my friend about you and showing her your art (she's super into LOTR so I was trying to find those, but got in the wrong tag🤣) and found/shared your Vespa comic. We had a good laugh and she said: "Wait till someone tells them about ROLLER COASTER" and I immediately came over here. WHAT IF someone tells Dorian and Aisling about ROLLER COASTER?? 🤣🤣🤣

Forgive me if it took too long, but this made me laugh so much that I HAD TO draw something.

Also: I'm leaving you the correct tag down here, but the Dark Lady one is "aisling the dark lady AU". You can find all my aus and tags in the character masterpost!

They'd LOVE the idea, of course. A little too much. They. Not most people around them.

They'll ignore Josephine begging them to please, PLEASE reconsider, think of your reputation, and rush to the Undercroft. Dagna will be over the moon with the plan, of course. Here's the blueprint, and under the cut some other details:

They found plenty of materials to build it in the Exalted Planes. Someone will have to dispose of all that rubbish after the war ended, right?

"Can't you build it in the Exalted Planes?" "But Josie, if we build it there, how would we experiment on gravity? We'll need to travel there and you see, that would be a great bother and will hinder our research. Also if we have it here, it would improve the moral of the troops greatly! :D"

Dorian's calculations were right. Solas discovered it with the first trial run. Not that any of the -very elated- science bros knew, but he actually started to think that maybe the Veil wasn't that bad of an idea, right there and then. Because can you imagine them WITHOUT THE VEIL? CAN YOU? Thedas wouldn't survive.

In order to make Josie happy, they'll come up with other rides to install around Skyhold:

Teacups will be installed in the upper courtyard. Except they're still a scientific experiment on Centrifugal Force, so they're fast. So fast that the game promises a free foal to everyone who manages not to puke on them. Since the foal is one of Little Brother's, Aisling horse (he made a name for himself in the Western Approach, biting on Venatori's butts, and is generally a prick), the excessive speed is actually considered a good thing. So nobody will win a foal of that horse or will have to tell Aisling that her beloved horse is an asshole.

Cullen's tower will be turned into a haunted house (thanks @ndostairlyrium for the idea). He'll actually contribute in painting the place, and will say that it's very useful to dissuade people to come looking for him if the report isn't REALLY important. "Aren't you scared, tho?" "Please, I was a commanding officer in Kirkwall."

Whack-a-mole in the Tavern's courtyard. The Iron Bull and Cassandra monopolize it and they're so-called nemeses. One day, then, the TRAGEDY: a mysterious person beat their record. No one knows who they are, there's a whole weekend of them playing Sherlock Holmes interrogating everyone around the Keep. (it's Krem.)

Josephine needed one joy, or ONE THING that she can use to sell the Inquisitor to the aristocracy. So Aisling organised something cute and nice for nobles to see and participate in. With horses! She named one of the horses Josephine! Josephine is moved, and from how Aisling describes it, calling it "giostra" because she heard the term from Dorian in vernacular Tevene and can't remember it in Trade for the sake of her, Josie thinks it's a carousel.

It's actually something better, and Josie loves it. (In Italian, "giostra" means a carousel, and also what happens in the video)

(Aisling is the unbeated championess. It's not that people let her win, is that she just can't be beated.)

One day, Dorian will eventually use all the data to calculate how much force they will need on the roller coaster to send a cart into orbit. Aisling will read his notes and find a way to propel the cart strong enough to actually do it.

It’s the latter, Anon, but the first though it kiiind of implied? The idea behind it was that Rook took Epel to the forest to teach him how to hunt, and the act of actually shooting a rabbit was a bit too much for Epel to handle.

Spoilers for latest Marvel Love Unlimited Infinity Comic #43 - #48

I heard they had Gwenpool come out as aroace and I wanted to wait until the whole thing came out before reacting to it.

Now it’s all out, so here we go!

Pros:

-- art is stellar, the composition lends itself very well to an infinity comic. expressions are expressive and on-point -- suits itself well for Gwenpool

Spoilers (warning, it gets LONG):

Issue #43 Summary: Gwen stages a meet-cute with Wither (from New X-Men) by purposely bumping into him. She’s getting into the “forbidden romance” trope, like Rogue and Gambit, because she thinks he can’t touch her. They start gardening together, and turns out he actually has control of his power, so the idealized romance in her head is ruined.

Issue #44 Summary: Gwen has a new plan. Create love triangle between her, Wither, and Elixir. She purposefully woos both of them (kissing each) to create tension and perhaps a fight between them. Her plan is foiled when they refuse to fight and talk it out instead, solidifying their friendship. Gwen feels terrible about even putting them in this situation in the first place. She leaves, immediately gets into trouble, and is promptly saved by Julie Power of the Power Pack, getting butterflies in her stomach.

Issue #45 Summary: Gwen and Julie go on a proper date at a diner. They have nice chat about Gwen’s reality shifting powers and how she feels about them. Julie talks about her current dating life and why she’s currently single and went back to college. Gwen realizes that maybe because she dropped out of High School, she never had that “moving forward in life” experience. She thought she might be bisexual, but never really acted on it. Then she realizes she won’t impress Julie by being an unemployed drop-out. She makes an excuse to go to the bathroom. switches reality around to get her High School diploma and enroll herself in college. Julie asks her out, and after some awkwardness, Gwen agrees.

Issue #46 Summary: It opens with Julie and Gwen having a heart-to-heart talk about the pressure of life expectations. Gwen compliments Julie, saying some stuff she “truly means this time” instead of manipulation like Wither, Elixir, and even Quinten Quire (from the West Coast Avengers days) They kiss, and Gwen reassures herself that she’s doing all the things she’s supposed to! She’s doing a relationship properly. There’s a sequence of them dating -- Gwen is taking college class in game design, Julie gets a pixie cut, it’s all very domestic and non-problematic. There’s even super hero shenanigans thrown in the mix, where Julie and Gwen work well as a team together. Gwen reassures herself that everything will be fine as long as she keeps the butterflies going and that if she tries hard enough, she can make it work. Julie wants to take things a step further (as consenting young adults often do in the romance genre) and Gwen tries to convince herself that she definitely wants this. Except, she doesn’t want to have sex. The issue ends with her bursting into tears and telling Julie to stop.

Issue #47 Summary: The issue opens with Gwen coming cleaning about her High School experience -- the solid group of friends that she had, and how she ended up feeling left behind as they all started dating and she just “didn’t get it.” Depressed, she dropped out of high school and just kind of drifted. Julie is a supportive, listening ear, and reassures Gwen that she can handle being told “no” if Gwen isn’t ready. Gwen states that she just wanted to make Julie happy and they hug. Julie asks if Gwen actually wanted to kiss her closest friend, Alice, and Gwen reveals she doesn’t WANT to kiss anyone. A little irked by this, Julie asks why didn’t Gwen just say something? Gwen says she like Julie in her way, so she figured it can’t be so bad. It’s romance! like in the movies! Gwen admits that maybe if she just kept pursuing it, even faking some stuff, she’d make Julie happy and all would be well. Julie disagrees. That kind of connection is very important to her, and she deserves to be fulfilled. Gwen says she knows and that she just wanted to make Julie happy. Julie interrupts, stating that Gwen deserves to be fulfilled too, and suggests that Gwen may be asexual. Which Gwen hadn’t considered.

Issue #48 Summary -- the conclusion: This issues opens with some great visual references to classic comic book covers and pop culture. Julie snaps Gwen out of her spiral. There’s the classic asexual comparison to a protozoa (’cause they reproduce asexually, and that’s the classic American education introduction to asexuality as a concept). Julie, being the bisexual icon that she is, takes Gwen to the college Pride Club and introduces her to their ace rep. Ronnie, the rep, is demisexual and gives Gwen the run-down of the basics. Gwen gets very excited when she learns its a spectrum. There’s an overview of the romantic attractions (I personally would’ve like to see more explanation of that, but i digress) Gwen goes on to explain that she understands “sexy” as a concept, but doesn’t really get it and expresses her desire for a queerplatonic relationship. There is a brief mention of “some aces like sex, some don’t” and Gwen breaks up with Julie. Gwen meets a group of aces, they have a fun chat. Gwen borrows a pair of flags for the avatar icon pic. The end.

My Thoughts:

Like I said, art was solid and flowed really well. Very good for a digital comic book setting. not really any thoughts there.

Issues #43 to #45 were okay, but i felt was a little shallow for the set-up.

As mentioned previously, they did a decent job with setting up Gwen’s baby ace vibes. Initially, she follows a very formulaic approach to romance, feeling like that’s what she SUPPOSED to do, that’s part of becoming an adult, that’s what people expect, that's what happens in movies, comic books, general entertainment, etc. Using her knowledge and her favorite tropes, she pursues that in her way. It does play on the trope stereotypes really well in a humorous manner.

However, the execution was a little sketchy at times. I mean, especially with issue #44, she PURPOSEFULLY tried to cause a fight between a couple of friends. She intentionally manipulated a situation for her own goals. I mean, I can related to her reasoning/feelings a bit, but her actions don’t vibe with me.

Same with issue #45, she intentionally manipulates reality to make herself more desirable to Julie Power. At least this round, she’s a bit more honest with her feelings, but again she’s using her powers for her own selfish goals.

I do also get the impression that especially the first couple issues are not intended to be super serious, playing off a couple of tropes, some reality-bending shenanigans ensue, no-real-long-term-harm-done-so-we-can-laugh-about-it-type nonsense. But also, with intended goal and conclusion, I just don’t feel it sets up asexuality in the best light at times.

Like I said, the narration is VERY strong. I do relate heavily to the expectations that Gwen puts on herself and WHY she wants to pursue her fairytale romance. The narration sets up the whole “feeling a certain way without understanding why” thing very well. There’s even a comment on Gwen thinking she was just bisexual at first.

It also illustrates the internal struggle of “maybe if I try hard enough, the feelings will come later” type thing. Something I certainly before I knew what asexuality was. I mean, I used to force myself to have crushes even though i didn’t really get it. And I’ve been on dates with people I get along with. But I sure as hell didn’t play mind games with people in order to accomplish the romance expectations I set for myself. Like I said, I DO relate to Gwen’s internal dialogue and I think it sets up her blossoming exploration of her own sexuality, but some things could be improved upon.

(apologies if I’m harping too much on this, gaslighting and manipulation are a bit of a sore spot for me. and “feeling bad” about it just isn’t enough for me)

Reality-bending powers definitely lend itself to the moral dilemma/ethics exploration really well, so you have to be real careful with the kind of story you want to tell. I don’t expect every character to be morally pure and I do feel that Gwen may have thought she had the best of intentions -- as in, if she sets it just right, her partner will be happy and it’ll all work out in the end. But, I can’t help but feel like it COULD be read as asexuals are manipulative and unfeeling people, you know?

Though I do understand it in terms of “doing what you can to make it work for others” type of thing. Like, she WANTS Julie to be happy, so she’s doing what she can to make herself the best partner she can be, even at the cost of her own feelings, comfort, and happiness. It’s certainly better than the fiasco with Wither and Elixir.

Issue #46 is where it really ramps up the asexuality reveal. A lot of narration centers around Gwen basically trying to convince herself that she’s doing exactly what she’s supposed to do, so everything is all good! Then it comes to a head when she doesn’t actually want to have sex. Which likely means that Gwen is on the sex-repulsed side of things

Which I mean, great, nothing wrong with that, but like me, not all asexuals are repulsed by sex and the whole “aces just hate sex” thing tends to be an over-simplifying trope in a lot of media, so I have mixed feelings on using that as Gwen’s “breaking point.” We don’t get to the nuances of asexuality vs. aromanticism until the conclusion.

However, I do realize that sex repulsion is a relatively common experience among aces, especially aroaces. Don’t get get me wrong, I do think the depiction is accurate as hell, especially for one first discovering themselves as a sex-pulsed aroace.

Issue #48 does a great job in reiterating the common stereotypes and misconceptions surrounding asexuality. For example, protozoa and asexual reproduction. and that being asexual means you’ll “be sad and alone forever.” To a questioning person, I think it really serves as a great intro into what asexuality actually is and alleviating common fears that the person may have heard before. Very well executed.

One small thing I have a gripe with, is referring to allosexuals as “people who seem to let their hormones determine who they spend their lives with.”

I mean, I get in terms of the way I don’t really get crushes the way an allosexual does, but its VERY VERY oversimplified. As a biromantic, I’ve had different kinds of crushes -- very rarely, and definitely more of the romantic kind when it happens (don’t even get me started on squishes). But also, it the LGBTQ+ community, there is already a lot of discrimination from both external forces and internal forces. I do see this as very tongue-in-cheek personally, but I expect this to be misinterpreted a bit. (I’ve already seen some circles of Twitter being a little ornery about it.)

But at the same time, I get it. There’s only so much you can do with limited space, and I personally see this intended as a cheeky and very joke-y reference to sexual attraction IN GENERAL as a foreign concept.

In general, Julie Power is a superstar here. The epitome of bi-ace solidarity. I don’t like the fact she had broken up with her partner off-panel in order to serve the story here, but she is characterized as a sheer powerhouse of selfless understanding and being true to yourself.

But I would’ve liked to see an apology to Elixir and Wither. Not that she has to apologize for being asexual, but she really manipulated the situation and intentionally tried to set them up to hate each other for a fantasy situation.

Anyway, these are just my own thoughts as a biromantic ace myself. I first learned the term asexuality at a sex-ed/BDSM mixer in college when I was nineteen, so I been through the struggle, lmao.

Obviously, media is never perfect, and I am optimistic this is (hopefully) a step in the right direction for ace representation. Despite my concerns, I’m happy for the increasing representation and I hope more nuances and more asexual character stories can be told moving forward.

I do think overall, it’s a very well done story and introduces asexuality in a relatively easy-to-grasp light. The set-up could’ve been done a bit better, but the conclusion was very satisfying. I do think all of the pros outweigh the cons here.

And I hope Gwen’s story can be expanded on more in the future -- I get that there’s only so much you can tell with a limited number of issues and I hope we can expand upon it in the future.

Ruin is finally out! Thoughts?

I've actually been waiting for the release of Ruin for a while but got side-tracked to the point where I FORGOT it came out today! But fear not, I managed to download the update (62gb on pc! Are you kidding??) and I started playing Ruin!

Thoughts under the cut! ((DISCLAIMER; I HAVE NOT FINISHED RUIN YET AND THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR THE DLC. EVERYTHING PAST THIS POINT WILL BE MY THOUGHTS, OPINIONS, AND PREDICTIONS))

THOUGHTS

Where do I start? The DLC started off with a really immersive intro that introduced you nicely to the new gimmicks (Faz-Wrench and the V.A.N.N.I. AR system)

and I gotta say, I LOVE these new gimmicks. There's so much put into them that it feels like playing a new game, and its so nerve-wracking due to the Entity that chases you around in the AR world and the shattered animatronics that chase you around in the Real world

Its a day one release, so it's a bit clunky and there's some bugs I encountered, but nothing too severe or game breaking. There's something so refreshing about being able to experience the same Pizzaplex, but in a different circumstance and with different dangers and tools.

Another thing that I'm loving; the Lore! Cassie is such an interesting child character (And she's apparently a POC! Everything you see of her and even her voice alludes to the fact that she's definitely not a white character. And her favorite animatronic is Roxy! She subverted all of my expectations!)

And we finally got to see Glamrock Bonnie! His outfit was a little silly (the fanmade ones were all way better imo) but he still looked so cute! I hope we get to see more of him and what happened to him because the Monty Backstory in the Gator Golf ride felt a bit too fairy tale-like compared to what we heard happened to Bonnie in the emails in the base game. So, here's to hoping!

ALSO I LOVE LOVE LOVE ECLIPSE I LOVE HIM SO MUCH SO SO MUCH

PREDICTIONS

I have a sneaking suspicion that the voice we hear on the Roxy Walky is not in fact Gregory, but either Vanny or Burntrap/William impersonating him to lure Cassie into the Pizzaplex. Sometimes I find myself doubting this line since the animatronics seem to react to Gregory and he keeps mentioning needing to hide or remain quiet, but it all feels suspicious to me. I won't trust the voice on the walky until I actually see Gregory in front of me. We've been tricked by sweet voices in the series before.

I don't know what Cassie and Gregory's relationship is, considering they seem to be quite close to the point where she finds the need to rescue him at a moment's notice and can also seem to tell that Gregory is acting Weirdtm. I think they might be related in some regard, like half siblings or something, or they might've been friends while Gregory was homeless

Speaking of Gregory being homeless, I noticed some of the Real World collectibles that you can find are Gregory's handdrawn comics. I haven't collected them all yet, but I feel like they tell a story that may end up being super important.

Overall, I'm loving Ruin so far! I've found a lot of things that I can write about in the Glamstar AU, and now I need to find a way to implement Cassie since she and Abbie are way too different now to be tied as the same character

I've already started art and drafts for Glamstars Ruin, hopefully I can post them soon! Stay tuned!

Batman: White Knight Presents: The Red Hood (Sean Murphy/Clay McCormick & Simone Di Meo/George Kambadais)

Issues # 1-2

Read December 2023

Story: 6/10

I cant believe I’m writing this but this is the first time I’ve felt like they have lost the tone and world of the white knight universe. While I’m all for fun and more silly comics, that has just not been a present theme in this world. This world is heavy, and intense. There has always been an obvious undertone of fun dialogue and moments between characters. characters not afraid to say something funny or point out the ridiculous nature of their world but this feels like a little too much, especially with the choice of character. If this whole world’s tone has been heavy then Jason Todd is the absolute epitome of that tone. His only brief appearances in this franchise have been angry, cynical and emo. Now we find him in a flashback being goofy and silly with a fun spunky girl. While the story itself is wholesome and cute it just doesn’t help show the character we know now, and I think Sean knew that too had to quickly transition to the final few pages of the flashback where he runs away kind of out of nowhere. With all that being said I like Jason in the modern scenes and his relationship to the now older Gan. Speaking of Gan let’s talk about the best part of this book, her! She’s cute, she’s sassy, and she thicc. I think she is an awesome addition to this world and I can’t wait to see the older version of her and what her character goes on to do.

Art: 6.5/10

I just simply don’t know how to feel. The art felt…inconsistent. There are moments of the art that made me smile from ear to ear. The scene of Jason’s torture, Gan’s design and model, the shriek’s suit was awesome. But then for the rest of the comic is felt incomplete, washy and just not special. On a positive note I found myself really enjoying the coloring of these pages. The choice of the warm reds and yellows filling the pages and the lighting used to illuminate the scenes is vibrant and blinding. This art does have the problem that the rest of the universe has which is trying to keep up with Sean Murphy who is a master of the craft. I’m interested to see what the artists do in the future and see if the art becomes a bit more consistent.

Special Notes:

- shoutout to Gan who is actually an interesting and cool character

- Also love how thicc she is

- Love the design choice of Jason’s long hair with the white streak

- Love the opening pages of the first issue with the torture of Jason. Great writing and art.

Overall Rating: 6.5/10

I’m not upset I read it, and I’m glad it exists and where it exists in the timeline. It was a nice little side story to help connect me to the characters who I assume will be much more prevalent in the over arching story of white knight beyond. With that being said thank god it’s only 2 issues. And now for the first time I have concern for the spin off titles in this series.

I just really love Bonnytale! I love everyone's designs and ur descriptions of them and how magic, flowers (I love the flowers stuff), GB's, and/or stuff works in Bonnytale.

I think my favorite designs so far/right now in Bonnytale are Undyne, Sans and Paps and their GB's, Frisk and Chara, and Gaster! But the designs look great for everyone.

Been loving all the Bonnyale stuff u have released. A lot of them is very funny, pretty, cute, interesting, etc.

Bonnytale is just such a cool AU!

Loved the art u did for Distorttale I think, of Priest!Sans and Demon/Demon-Possessed Paps?; either way, that art looked creepy, dark, and cool.

That was some nice Killer art u did too. I love Dust more, but I do also love Killer a lot too!

Last but not least, I love ur "Undertale/DustTale: Dead Ringer" series so much! I have a lot to say about it, but I will probably save that for the YouTube comments of those videos for that series on YouTube.

I will say though; that that series is probably one of my favorite takes on DustTale so far, and I really love the idea of a Dust (and Phantom) winding up in a more pacifist timeline. Everyone's designs also look really cute, creepy, and nice (and stuff). I esp. love Frisk and Chara (I love how Frisk looks like a demon/horror movie child, while Chara just so looks so happy and sweet), Sans from the more pacifist timeline, Dust and Phantom (they are so, SO good), Paps, and Alphys (she is just so cute. And it seems like Dust might have a history with her in his timeline? Maybe. Might be reading too much into that. But I do really like Sans and Alphys stuff).

Excited for more of "Dead Ringer"! No rush though. I am excited for more, but like, I can wait.

I got more to say, but I save the "Dead Ringer" stuff for probably their YT videos, and any other stuff for reblogs and stuff.

As for bonnytale, the animation trailer is 100% comeplete! But after some thought I think I should released the trailer at the same time I released the first beginning episode and that should come around…I’m not sure, hopefully this year though! Meanwhile I will upload short comics and junk about that au. I will have to change that date from March to something else as working on 2 projects has caused me a burn out, which brings to just working on one project a step at a time.

As for DeadRinger I am currently working on that and i should say the third episode should be out somewhere in early June, it is a longer episode and is catching up nicely. There should be 7 total episodes of that. Also Sans and Alphys relationship is a kind of relationship like Undyne and Papyrus, so Alphys tends to tell Sans a lot of this and Sans does the same with her as well.

Since I’ve graduated high school recently I now can focus my time on these projects more :D, along with other side aus like underhell (that I’m redoing designs and story lore bit) and distorttale (which I would get into later).

Exactly!!!!! I loooove when people rant at me about anything!!! In Yiddish there's this word, kvetch, which is sometimes used in English but they don't quite use it right? Kvetching has a more positive connotation in Yiddish, it's the Jewish tradition of complaining recreationally. Just like whining/ranting about shit for fun. It's one of my favourite things!

Silly crazy guys are great!!! Honestly, I have a bunch of different types when it comes to characters, but if you show me a pathetic man who looks like he'd whimper if I bit him, I'm melting. Or like an easily flustered monster!! Or a woman who's silly and goofy and causes problems on purpose!!

Oooof yeah paralysis sucks. I've started getting these muscle contractions that lock up whole sections of my body really painfully for a few minutes.

My silly little power is just being able to tell what kinks a person has just by looking at them. I have a 100% success rate so far, including people who told me I was wrong when I first did it and then came back later and was like "fuck you were right I was just in denial" lmao but my discord friends mostly like to use it by sending me a picture of a character so I can tell them what kinks they'd have.

So 2022 is really kicking my ass...the Saturday we went to Comic Con I got the text to say my Grandma, my mum’s mum, had passed away.

She was 90, had been ill for 3 years and had been in hospital all of that week but it still hit me. My mum threatened me with my own demise though if I even thought about coming home so I went and had the best time with @tylrposey and our friend Ebony.

I just wanted to write everything that happened here so I can look back on it and remember how much fun we had and how nice people were!

So just going to write about how it was meeting Lesley Ann Brandt, Linden Ashby, Tyler Hoechlin and Tyler Posey and watching the Teen Wolf Panel!

So the first person I met was Lesley Ann Brandt, Maze from Lucifer and Nika from my oc that time! She’s my fave from Lucifer so was the obvious choice for me, but I kinda wish I had also met Aimee Garcia because I’ve seen her pics and stories from meeting her and she seemed so sweet! If only I were rich ey!

Anyway. Lesley was super sweet! I went to her first photo session of the weekend and, with us being diamond pass, was one of the first to have my picture with her. I always make sure I say hi and be super polite because I have seen a few people treat them a bit rudely? Like, I’m paying for this so you’ll do what I want kind of thing.

She gave me this super sweet smile, asked me how I was (and told me she was great when I asked her) then I wasn’t sure how to stand so she said ‘Shall we do a back to back?’ so we did and I think it came out really cute! What I didn’t realise was she then went to wearing her mask with other people so it may have been a safety kind of thing but I still think it came out really nice!

We then went and met Linden Ashby, we all had pics with him so we went together. Ebony went first, then Becca and then me...he is defo a silver fox! What a handsome dude!

And so so nice! Obviously you only get a couple of seconds in the booth with them but he welcomed me with a smile, asked me if I have a preferred side (as Becca had requested which one she stood on!!) then told me I was very welcome after the picture was taken and I said thank you.

He was so nice that we went to his table and got our pictures signed, he sat and spoke to us for ages about how he looked too tan on the pics, how he was enjoying being in the UK etc. He was so easy to talk to!

We left the Saturday quite early, after shopping around the stalls (I love buying art from cons!). It was so hot in the venue with not many places to sit, a long line at the bar and they had taken our drinks off us before we came in.

The next day was the Tylers day!!

Posey was so cute, I did get a bit nervous meeting him because it’s Scott McCall!! But he was all smiles and energy and just made you feel SO welcome. I’ll talk more about him when we get to the auto bit so here’s my pic;

Then we met Hoechlin, he was looking SO cozy in a white jumper and, just like everyone else, was full of smiles and was so welcoming. Even though you only got a few seconds they all really made it feel like an ‘experience’ instead of rushing you through like a few at Liverpool Comic Con did.

After we had the pic taken, me and Becca were in the same one, the girls at the printing stations told me our pic hadn’t printed properly and just handed me a pic of just me?? So I was so confused and they sent me over to some other people to ask them if I could have it reprinted.

So I was just wandering around with this picture of me like ‘help me what do I need to do’ until this woman came and took it off me and was like ‘wait there’.

So I was just like okay?? and I turned to Becca and Ebony and was like ‘what is going on, help me Derek!’ only to turn back around to see actual Derek Hale grinning at me, holding the picture of me up against his face going ‘Are you coming in for another pic or am I posing like this??’ So I grabbed Becca and we went back into the booth for another pic and he was so nice!! He went ‘Second times a charm! But if you need a third, you’ll be very welcome!’

Luckily (sadly?) the printing worked this time but it did mean I got to spend more time with Hoechlin!

After meeting Tyler H we went over and got our Posey autos and let me tell you that boy is an ANGEL. Throughout the weekend we could see his queue and people talking to him and you could just tell that he was being the Sweetest, making sure to give everyone the most time he could. His girlfriend was there as well and she was just as sweet! A few people asked her for selfies etc or spoke to her and she gave them more than enough time without taking away from Tyler.

We ended up being first in the queue because of the passes we had and omg I was literally shaking. I tried to hide it because Becca was so nervous and I had to be the strong one but I am KNOWN for embarrassing myself in front of famous people so there was a risk.

Always, he signed my picture and I introduced Becca as the Scott to my Stiles which he LOVED and he guessed how to spell Becca’s name in one go which he was super happy about. I told him I’d paid for selfies too so he leaned over the table and we took a few pics and I asked him if I could have a hug because all I wanted that weekend was a posey hug :((( and he went “No!” and I was thinking shit I've done it again but he carried on and went “over the table is SHIT I'm coming round there!!” and he came round and gave me a massive hug then asked for my phone again...but it had died!!! So Becca had to give me hers, he took a pic of me and him then was trying to get Becca and Ebony in. I was going “higher!! higher!!!!” because Becca kept trying to hide hahaha

Then I forgot to get my pic he’d signed so he had to chase after me calling my name to give it me back

Ebony also met Dylan Sprayberry who was so nice and had gummy bears stuck to his forehead (?) and had to be moved away from Posey on the Sunday hahaha, I can only imagine the havoc they were causing even with Hoechlin in between them!

We also accidentally stalked Chandler Riggs because his table was in the coolest place in the whole venue and had a breeze going right through it. We ended up getting his auto for Ebony’s uncle tho I’m not sure it wasn’t out of sheer awkwardness. He was very nice but, as someone with a zombie phobia, I hadn’t seem him in TWD haha!

The Teen Wolf panel (which happened in-between meeting the two Tylers) was amazing. They talked about all sorts from their fave take out (Hoechlin doesn’t do take out while Linden talked about one from Hawaii for a g e s), weird fan encounters (Posey said there was no weird, he will accept anything then offered to cut his hair for people in the front row. Sprayberry said someone accidentally put their finger in his armpit when they were posing for the picture the previous day...but that was more weird for them than him), Sprayberry talking about how he had called Linden to help him with an out of control party one time and he showed up in his Beacon Hills sheriff outfit and how Posey wished he had Scott’s dirt bike but it was auctioned off before he could take it or even bid on it! Bless him seeing as Dylan got the jeep!!

Someone brought up Stiles and Kira not being in the movie which they expertly dodged, saying that there was still plenty of other characters coming back, staying very diplomatic which I don’t blame them for!! Someone asked Hoechlin about Sterek...in 2022. He said he supported anything the fans wanted to ship, shipping wasn’t for him but if that’s what people wanna do it’s what they wanna do then Linden talked about how he didn’t understand what shipping meant for so long hahaha

Also they talked about how the movie is set 15 years after the last ep (Posey pointing out that made Scott older than him, when all throughout the show he’d been younger than him) and they don’t have a release date for it yet, they’re definitely excited for us to see what they’ve made though!!

It was just so hot in there and there wasn’t much seating (it was by far the best con I’d been too apart from the lack of seating at the panels and the heat) so I can’t remember much of the panel and Becca had to go for fresh air (so I was worried!).

When we went over to where she was sat Zachary Quinto was randomly chilling outside of the door we were by. I swear every time I went passed his desk he wasn’t there!

But yeah, that was our weekend! I’ve spent the week helping my mum with funeral stuff (Becca managed another weekend away with Westlife idk how!) so it was nice to relive!
