Tumblr media
Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion will launch for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Humble Store this fall worldwide, publishers XSEED Games, Marvelous Europe, and Marvelous, and developer Team GrisGris announced.
In North America, physical $49.99 standard and $79.99 “Ayame’s Mercy” editions will be available for PlayStation 4 and Switch. The latter includes a copy of Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion with a reversible cover, a “Save Yourself” LED blue candle styled after the in-game save points, a 64-page artbook filled with behind-the-scenes content, a “Ayame’s Mercy” lenticular art card, an “evidence kit” containing items from the game, and an Amare Est Vivere “Medical Kit” metal outer case. This limited edition will be available shortly for pre-order through the XSEED Games Store and at participating retailers.
Tumblr media
Here is an overview of the game, via XSEED Games:
Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion follows three high school friends; Haruka Nanami, Nemu Takanashi, and Maria Hitsugi, as they explore the Amare Epatoentst Vivere Hospital, testing a local urban legend as the streamer Nemu seeks to boost her subscriber count. Unfortunately for the three girls, the legend of “Ayame’s Mercy” is true, and they trigger a decades-old curse that sends them into a dark realm. Together they must avoid the vengeful spirit of Ayame Kirishima and other horrors from the hospital’s dark past as they search for a way to dispel Ayame’s curse once and for all. The cult-classic Japanese horror franchise returns with new characters, a new setting, a terrifying new curse, and a brand-new look allowing for more thrills and chills! Players can freely explore the fully 3D rendered halls of the Amare Est Vivere Hospital in both third- and, for those brave enough to take a closer look, first-person viewpoints as they try to keep the girls alive. This new perspective complements the series’ visual novel-style storytelling, pairing updated visuals with gruesome descriptions and spine-tingling binaural audio accompanied by the original Japanese voiceovers. Featuring six chapters, with eight additional scenarios and plenty of Wrong Ends for players to discover as they uncover the truth behind “Ayame’s Mercy” and escape with their lives, Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion is the perfect entry point for new horror buffs while keeping longtime fans on the edge of their seats.

She then decides to show the letter to her friends. Her best friend, Yuka Mochida, says she has a bad feeling about this, for one line in the letter stood out in her mind:
"At midnight, the coffin of your heart will open and be offered up."
Yuka tells her friend that she knows once Satsuki enters the mansion, she will never be able to leave. However, Masami and Rina treat the letter with contempt, saying it is trying to make a fool of them.
Despite Yuka’s warnings, Satsuki feels something inexplicably compelling about this particular letter, and she heads out to explore the old abandoned manor with Masami, Rina, and Sugimura. Yuka, worried about her friends’ safety, convinces her older brother and his girlfriend to tag along.
Not long after entering the property, the seven soon realize that they have become trapped...

Corpse Party: New Chapter (lost mobile port)
Hey first things first: I'm sorry for not updating the blog in forever! I got busy with work and this fell to the side as I forgot about this. Not an excuse, but let's started.
All information here found on the Lost Media wiki.
Tumblr media
Do you remember the horror RPG Corpse Party? For those who don't, here's a basic run-down of the story:
Highschool aged students (plus one teacher and one middle-schooler) preform a charm said to make sure that your friends forever. However, when the charm is preformed incorrectly, they get transported to an alternate world of Heavenly Host, the school that once stood years before it had to close down due to the grisly murders that occurred there; now our cast are forced to find a way out, while avoiding the deadly spirits of Heavenly Host.
The game was originally made in the mid 90's as CORPSE-PARTY, but the most popular version of the game is the PSP port from 2010/2011 (2010 was the original release in Japan, while it was translated into English in 2011). Before the PSP port was a thing, series creator Kedouin and the studio Team GrisGris planned to make it into a mobile exclusive where chapters 1-4 were released before it was dropped for the PC port that I'll call Blood Covered for convince/that's it's full title (currently available on Steam as seen below with New Chapter's promo image for reference).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite the mobile port being cancelled, it was used as the basis for the newer versions of the game that we all know/is currently available.
it introduced multiple chapters while CORPSE-PARTY was a single chapter.
the mobile version introduced the Wrong Ends as previously the ending you got depended on how many of the characters you've killed off of the starting five.
The mobile version also added more characters to the cast to help flesh out the story, this version of the game also gave the antagonist her first name (Sachiko) as previously she was referred to by her surname of Shinozaki.
Currently, only screenshots and one very grainy playthrough of the opening of this missing version of the game are available. they suggest that there's little difference between New Chapter and Blood Cover's story. Below is the playthrough of New Chapter's opening:
youtube
One character, Morishige was missing a character portrait in New Chapter, while he has one in Blood Covered and the newer versions of the game.
It was also reported that New Chapter lacked the voice acting that Blood Covered introduced (and was upgraded with more well-known VA's in the PSP port), and that New Chapter's music was re-worked for Blood Covered.
Of course, as this was a mobile port, New Chapter's maps are smaller and thinner than what can be seen in newer ports. As this was cancelled and exclusive to Japan; there isn't a whole lot known about New Chapter apart from what I've reported on. I'll include some screenshots below, one from each chapter of New Chapter.
note: None of these screenshots will be translated, as I don't want to trust Google Translate on this. Also, I won't include any screenshots of the blood and violence, as if you haven't seen any let's plays or played it yourself, I wouldn't want to spoil you.

Features, via XSEED Games:
Point-and-Click-Style First-Person Gameplay — More realistically proportioned and immersive first-person environments bring Heavenly Host to life in all its grim glory, with point-and-click-style “Search Mode” allowing players to scour every inch of every room via keyboard, gamepad, mouse, or any combination thereof…
Original Japanese Voiceovers with More 3D Audio Than Ever Before — Every line of dialogue is spoken in its original Japanese by a who’s who of Japanese voiceover talent, with many crucial scenes recorded in binaural 3D using dummy-head microphones: play with quality headphones or a hi-fi stereo setup to hear the horror coming from all around you, or perhaps from right next to your ear…
Dastardly “Darkening” System Leads to Painful Demise — Characters gradually become frightened and unstable as horrific discoveries are made, distorting the game’s graphics and altering their decision-making abilities; continuing down these darkened paths will result in one of the game’s many dozens of gruesome “Wrong Ends,” all of which are virtually guaranteed to replay in players’ nightmares…
Enhanced Focus on Side Characters — The already robust cast from the original game is further humanized, with a focus on those characters whose screen time may have been lacking before; learn more about your favorite side characters, and find out just what was going on in their heads (before those heads were crushed)...
Unlockables, Achievements, and More — Steam achievements, collectibles, voice cast interviews, music tracks, art stills, and more are unlockable through a variety of means for attentive and detail-oriented players; additionally, those who’ve conquered or even just dabbled in the first Corpse Party will be able to import their save-data to unlock dozens more art stills, and possibly even make the crucial final chapter of the story available to play through a bit sooner than it otherwise would be…
Synopsis:
An anthology of short stories set before, during, and after the first Corpse Party – in the canon universe, as well as in several Wrong End timelines – Corpse Party: Book of Shadows takes players through a series of events in which students, teachers, and associated family and friends from Kisaragi Academy, Byakudan Senior High, Paulownia High, and Musashigawa Middle School succumb to the curse of Heavenly Host Elementary in new and unique ways.
These events include numerous what-if scenarios where characters make different choices than they did in Corpse Party, resulting in a deeper understanding of who they are and how they think. As the game’s terror-inducing story reaches its final chapter, players will also learn more about the mysterious tome known as the “Book of Shadows,” which may be the linchpin behind everything that’s happened thus far and all the horror still to come.
It becomes more essential than ever that the characters be kept safe during these adventures, too: as their fears rise, they become more unstable, causing their view of the world around them and the choices they make to become distorted and disturbed through the newly introduced “Darkening” system. All of this is added on top of gripping first-person point-and-click style gameplay that pairs with the series’ trademark 3D binaural audio to help bring players directly into the action like never before.

Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash
Developer: Team GrisGris & 5pb. Games Release Date: Winter 2018 Platform: Windows Age Rating: TBA
Originally titled Corpse Party -The Anthology- Sachiko no Ren'ai Yuugi♥Hysteric Birthday 2U in Japan, Corpse Party: Sweet Sachiko’s Hysteric Birthday Bash is a comedic spin-off in the Corpse Party series.
The game originally released for the Playstation Portable in Japan on August 2, 2012.
Synopsis:
The missing link in the Corpse Party saga, now coming to English-speaking audiences officially for the very first time!
Sachiko Shinozaki, the vengeful spirit responsible for the deaths of countless children and adults alike, is turning 7 again (being dead, she never truly ages), and is thus graciously granting her victims 24 hours of amnesty so they can serve as guests at her birthday party. However, if these party-goers thought that Sachiko’s shindig was going to be all fun and games, they thought wrong: Sachiko has invited everyone—including many of the poor souls she’s already killed—to participate in various activities for her amusement, with an overarching (yet heavily twisted) theme of “romantic comedy.”
This game of “ship or die” takes the Corpse Party universe in a totally new direction, but the hellish outcome for these poor, unfortunate students remains the same…
Tumblr media
Corpse Party: Blood Drive
Developer: Team GrisGris & 5pb. Games Release Date: Winter 2018 Platform: Windows Age Rating: 17+
Corpse Party: Blood Drive was originally released for the Playstation Vita in Japan on July 24, 2014. XSEED Games released the game in North America for the Playstation Vita on August 12, 2015.
Relevant Link:
Official Site
Synopsis:
The disturbing events that the survivors of Kisaragi Academy’s class 2-9 encountered in the previous titles are theirs alone to mourn, since all memories and records of those lost in the halls of Heavenly Host have been wiped from the face of the earth.
Only the power contained within the pages of the Book of Shadows could reverse this miserable fate, but that book was forever lost in the chaos of previous events—and the life of yet another innocent victim was lost with it. Obsessed with figuring out a way to bring her friends back, Ayumi thus returns to Heavenly Host following a tip that leads her to believe the Book of Shadows still resides within.
Will Ayumi be successful in this last-ditch attempt to redeem her past mistakes, or will she further compound her failures and doom even more to fall under the curse of the Everafter?
Tumblr media
Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient
Developer: Team GrisGris Release Date: Winter 2018 Platform: Windows Age Rating: TBA
Synopsis:
Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient takes players on a dark and mysterious journey alongside a partially amnesiac high school student named Ayame Itou, as well as any other friendly faces she may come across.
Through the deserted halls of a hospital called Amare Patriarcha Crucis, the party will solve inventory-based puzzles, collect medical charts of deceased patients, and avoid terrifying zombie-like pursuers in order to find much-needed answers, as well as—hopefully—a way out.
Titled Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient NEUES in Japan, this is the definitive version of Dead Patient’s first chapter, with updated graphics and additional scenarios not present in the game’s original Japanese release, as well as the first Extra Chapter for fans looking to see a few familiar faces from previous titles.
Corpse Party 2: Dead Patient exists as a standalone story within the Corpse Party series, allowing players to jump in regardless of their experience with past titles. Future chapters will be released episodically as they are completed by the original developers at Team GrisGris.
