Witchy Self-Care

*pulls out draft from over a year ago* ENJOY

Hi! this is a list of witchy self-care things you can do. Most of these are pretty basic on account that i wrote this ages ago but they definitely still work. Anyways, I hope these help :)

Do the dishes and dedicate it to your house spirit (if you have one) or a deity (if you're religious)

sweep/mop your floor in the shape of sigils

add rosemary (or rosemary water/essential oils) to the water you mop with to set an intention of cleansing

taking ritual a bath/shower

cleansing your energy. it's so basic but I forget more than i'd like to admit

dedicating time to yourself. it's just as important as dedicating time to your deities/other spirits

light shadow work or going to therapy. bettering your mental health also betters your spiritual.

go outside and ground yourself

take a nap (less witchy, more, I love naps. rest is important)

work out/stretch and dedicate it to an entity

do some gratitude

take 5 minutes to just sit and turn off your devices. you can use this time for anything, just take a second to get off screens and connect with the world around you

meditate. if you can't sit still long enough to meditate, just focus on taking 3 deep breathes

when you wash your face, draw sigils on your face with the cleanser and moisturiser

^do the same as above but with your body wash and when you wash your hair

say some affirmations/manifestations while brushing your teeth

just check in with yourself and see how you're feeling spiritually, psychically and emotionally. sometimes we don't actually know how we're feeling until we sit down and actually ask ourselves.

The Weaver's Song

Disclaimer: well I thought I had time to edit this properly and tidy it up, but joke's on me, apparently the entirety of HOFAS has leaked in Portuguese over night. That'll teach me (haha, never) to leave something in my drafts for months. So this may or may not be correct, and YOU might know that, but I'm not going to read the whole thing until I have the original version.

If someone has already posted this theory, I'm sorry!

Spoilers: this contains information from ACOTAR, TOG and CC series books 1 and 2. Please do not discuss spoilers in the comments until after HOFAS has officially been published, or in the reblogs without warning (and ideally a read more option)!

This may be fanciful, but I think I may know what The Weaver was singing about in ACOMAF... it was a metaphor for Prythian history and Void travel.

“There were two sisters, they went playing, To see their father’s ships come sailing … And when they came unto the sea-brim The elder did push the younger in.”

Theia's two daughters, as @silverlinedeyes has posted before, she thinks the second daughter brought Truth-Teller back to Prythian through a rift - though was there a third, unknown sibling, as @wingedblooms and I have theorised?

Playing - playing music? Music as the universal magic/language? Urd’s music?

Whether or not they're also Fionn's daughters, if literal, the ships could be people travelling through the Void/Rift to Midgard… the Feyre, the Nesta, the Elain come to mind, except maybe the Selene, the Eos and the Helios?

The Haldren Sea sounds like it could have a rift/portal in it (similar imagery to the Court of Nightmares/Hewn City). Port/portal?

Did Helena push her younger sister into the rift, to make her return through the Void and save Prythian from the Asteri, per @silverlinedeyes?

If this was then case then Helena knowingly sacrificed herself.

“Sometimes she sank, and sometimes she swam, ’Til her corpse came to the miller’s dam.”

Did she travel through multiple worlds until she reached Prythian, similar to Aelin as the red star? Or was this after returning to Prythian and living her life she then travelled again across the murky realm?

Miller's dam - dam could be their mother? The Mother? Silba?

A dam is also a body of water. The Cauldron?

Miller is one of the oldest human professions - milling grains for bread.

Miller is also a type of moth - moth wings at the HOW library, with their Cauldron/bowl-type statues at the entrance?

What if the Void/Cauldron is the Miller, and Chaos/Cauldron's water is the Dam?

“But what did he do with her breastbone? He made him a viol to play on. What’d he do with her fingers so small? He made pegs to his viol withall.”

What if the Void/Cauldron is the earth, Chaos/Cauldron's water is the dam, and the Miller is the hypothetical third sibling?

How do the underground waterways and/or the pool of Starlight in the Spring Court fit in?

The viol is an instrument; is the language of the universe a song? This would support my idea that Singing is a language of the gods, and Sight/messages from the gods could be a form of Singing.

Breastbone, spells and bonds are threads, viol strings? Pegs tighten/tune the strings. Witchy and sorcery spell vibes, but also hello PUPPET VIBES. Who is/will the Cauldron using as a puppet?

“And what did he do with her nose-ridge? Unto his viol he made a bridge. What did he do with her veins so blue? He made strings to his viol thereto.”

Nose - smells, Azriel can smell the Elucien bond… because it's discordant (theory on the way)? Amren could smell Feysand’s bond, how?

Bridge - I saw the painting in my mind: the lovely fawn, blooming spring vibrant behind her. Standing before Death, shadows and terrors lurking over his shoulder. Light and dark, the space between their bodies a blend of the two. The only bridge of connection … that knife. Paint that when we get home. - ACOWAR, chapter 69. Truth-Teller connecting with the Starsword.

"A violin bridge is a maple piece that sits atop the violin and lifts the strings above the fingerboard in a way that allows you to play both single notes and double stops. It transmits the string vibrations to the soundbox (body of the violin)." It's a conduit. Could Carranam be relevant here?

Blue - Azriel's siphons, the veins in Elain's eyes in the tent scene when she Looked for the Suriel. Can she see the threads?

Viols have six strings - three brothers and three sisters?

“What did he do with her eyes so bright? On his viol he set at first light. What did he do with her tongue so rough? ’Twas the new till and it spoke enough.”

Eyes bright - like Elain's when she's in pain? Pain is a link to the divine, do her eyes go bright when she's using her magic?

Eyes at first light - Sight/Singing at dawn? Eos?

First light - firstlight?

To set at something, to go after it… with an instrument playing him through the Void? Someone is after the firstlight and will go after it. The Asteri and Bryce. Mystics? Elain?

Till - as in the soil/gardening? More likely a boat's till/tiller; did Theia's second daughter’s tongue become the rudder that allowed “the Miller” to steer his way through the water/Void/space between… Lightsingers? Mystics? And there were three ships named after Feyre, Nesta and Elain Archeron.

Mor speaks the truth, Elain speaks what she Sees.

“Then bespake the treble string, ‘O yonder is my father the king.’”

“Then bespake the second string, ‘O yonder sits my mother the queen.’”

“Then bespake the strings all three, ‘Yonder is my sister that drowned me.’”

The father/king and mother/queen have been separated, and are in different locations.

Different worlds?

Fionn/the father/king is in Prythian.

Theia/the mother/queen "sits" somewhere else… a hell/Hel realm? Sits on a throne?

The sister/Helena is in Midgard.

I really think that the Weaver was singing to nobody/Feyre about Prythian's ancient history, along with the crossover - and potential instructions on how to navigate the Void - all the way back in ACOMAF! When she just happened to be collecting a six pointed star sapphire ring (six strings?) for Rhys?

Will each sister become a magical, Singing tiller for the bat boys' wings (as rudders), guiding them through the Void? It gives a whole new depth of meaning to Papa Archeron's fleet going down in a storm!

This also fits for Vassien, with Lucien being the magical tiller and Vassa as the firebird. And even possibly More and Emerie, if her wings get healed, or she gets her own Pegasus! Could it parallel the way they had to fly through holes in the Wall back in the OT, before Hybern destroyed it with the Cauldron (which just happens to contain Void)?

Will they be the light in the dark?

The Andersons Do Not Get Enough Shit For Their Bullshit: My Thoughts on Feri.

First of all in case this post breaches containment, a little about myself. I'm Gef, I'm a thirty-something white cis disabled Canadian lesbian. I have a BA in Religion and Culture from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MLIS from the University of Western Ontario (I think it changed its name since I graduated). I also have minors in Medieval Studies and Women's Studies but they don't give you pieces of paper for those. My spiritual journey looks something like Catholic - New Ager - eclectic Wiccan-ish - Dianic-ish (the TERFy kind) - Heathen - Vanatru - now I kind of just read about witchy stuff, goddess-y stuff, and I collect divination decks. This isn't the first I've heard of Feri, but this is the first time I've sat down and read up on it.

I would just like to take a moment to recap what I've read so that everyone is on the same page:

I read The Spiral Dance ages ago and am currently rereading it but am not including it here.

I think that's all the basics covered, let's get to the meat of the discussion.

I'll start with what I found appealing about the tradition. Both the founders and initiates stress that Feri is an ecstatic tradition, not a "fertility religion" like Wicca. It is a tradition of the poet, of being in your body, of dancing with the gods. It's also pretty explicitly queer (but see below): God Herself catches Her own reflection in a mirror and makes love to Herself, creating all the other deities in the pantheon. Coyle in particular talks about the Gods and Guardians (think like the Guardians of the Watchtowers in Wicca) as being genderfluid. The tradition practices ritual possession where the genders of the deity and their host don't matter.

Regarding Evolutionary Witchcraft specifically. I found the exercises (which involve a lot of breathing and awareness) to be useful and I think they would be of use to any witch. I also love the way she speaks of the Earth element in particular, as I think a lot of Pagan books are like "Oh Earth is money and other boring mundane stuff" whereas she talks about Earth as money but also as safety, security, the place where you incubate things (like in a cave), and the tomb. Despite my issues, I think I would recommend it.

Having said all that, I feel like the Andersons do not get enough shit for their bullshit.

Based on his students accounts, Victor sounds like a bit of an asshole at best. He's described as "a taskmaster" and that "One could ask for clarification, but to even hint that one disagreed with him, or worse yet, to contradict him, would result in an immediate and permanent order to leave," which is maybe just me but I wouldn't want to study under a teacher who didn't allow for disagreements or questioning, that's a cult leader thing. His wife Cora comes across as a yes (wo)man "my husband is a great shaman and an expert on x, y, and z." Now honestly I feel like people should hype up their spouses, but this is a constant throughout their writings.

Honestly though, I didn't get the chance to know them personally. Maybe they were awesome people irl. I'm just going off what I've read, but even if they were both very nice people, I still have some major issues.

One of these issues are the Andersons' claims about their own religion. Feri dates back to the Stone Age (uh huh), Feri's origins are in Africa (sure). Victor claimed to be a kahuna and an expert on Vodou. Apparently, once Victor read something he thought was true, he decided it had always been true. I should note here that near as I can tell, his source for info on Hawaiian religion is that Huna book by that white guy writing about what he thought Native Hawaiians believed. I've heard people justify this by being like "oh well Victor was being poetic and not literal" but that doesn't change the fact that it's straight up bullshit. Poetic lies are still lies. So yeah you'll often hear "Feri draws from a variety of traditions" but I'd say in some cases it's less "influenced by" and more "appropriated from" (I do feel the need to mention that some initiates have moved away from, say, using Hawaiian terms for their concepts).

I mentioned the deities in passing but Feri has its own pantheon. Most of the deity names are Welsh and many deities go by several names or are seen as similar to named deities in many cultures (the Blue God, for instance, being compared to Krishna) and they also have secret names that only initiates know. One important aspect of the Blue God is the Peacock God, at first I was going to include him under the section on appropriation, but Feri practitioners have apparently been in contact with actual Yazidis who have given their blessing re: Feri worship of Melek Taus but I'd prefer to hear it directly from the Yazidi that they are cool with it.

Okay so way back at the beginning I mentioned Feri was very queer but I really should amend that to say "unless you're asexual" because oh boy sex is inescapable in this tradition. It's implied that sexual activity between initiator and initiate is a thing that happens but there's an alternative ritual called the Intentions of the Heart where you do (non-sexual) ritual things and then "your first act of sexual intercourse" post-ritual is your initiation. The foundation of Feri practice is the Iron pentacle, where "sex" is at the top. There is also the Pearl pentacle, seen as the "higher energy" version of Iron, where sex becomes love. In Evolutionary Witchcraft, Coyle makes a few unfortunate statements about the relationship of sex to love that imply you cannot have love without sex. I don't really see a lot of room for asexual practitioners in this system, which is a shame because I know of some wonderful queer initiates of this tradition. I would be interested in an initiate's view on this because I know queer practitioners have talked about using an amethyst pentacle, for instance. I should note however, that Coyle states that not everyone needs or wants initiation as it involves marriage to the deities and responsibilities to the tradition, but as I said the tools and techniques she talks about are fine to use.

I did actually like Evolutionary Witchcraft so even if the tradition is not for me, I do what I usually do: take the bits I find useful and leave the rest.

Some Masque Designs I Personally Rejected (or had in my personal archives associated with my reject pile)

this is a personal project that I am working on, and I don't think I can get anything right, so here I am posting the designs I have rejected regarding Masque (mostly because I didn't like them)

If you choose to look at this, none of the drawings here are official unless I change my mind about one of them.

Tried going with a funny hat, ruffle and flourite approach, but it didn't turn out. Still, I really liked the t-pose

Brainstorm page, was trying to go for a stereotypical wizard look or maybe witchy, idk man.

“Blast from the Past” PT4

Pairing: the lost boys x reader

Summary: The boys feast and chase downs local witch coven and it didn’t work out in their favour. Home was home but at the same time it wasn’t.

A/N: my dumbass deleted the original post cuz I’m so smart.

The pain in your head was unbearable it caused you to awaken, at first your surroundings didn't seem familiar until you focused a little more and it became clear you were in the cave. You groaned as you sat up, the light hurting your head a little more but you pushed through it, you heavily doubted that the boys would have kept any form of painkillers hidden around the cave but then again that wouldn’t do you any good they’d probably just recommend you drink vampire blood and never worry about a hang over ever again.

You headed back to your house and funnily enough your grandma was waiting for you. Your body tensed, there was an atmosphere definitely but you didn’t know why.

“Staying at your friends again?” She asked. It honestly didn’t come across as one but you said yes anyways. “A boy? Or girl perhaps?”

“Doesn’t matter anyways, I’m sorry for not being home more I swear I will try to work on it.” She smiled at you and walked towards you then she embraced you in a hug.

“Im just glad you’re socialising more but please be safe.” With that she left the house. You stood in the empty entrance of your grandmas shop wondering what to do next, you still needed to find that damn spell and you knew there had to be something here what kind of spiritual witchy shop doesn’t have spells or anything about them? You tried closing your eyes and concentrating really hard on the spell you were desperate to look for and the sound of sparks broke you from your concentration. A green glow met your gaze in front of you and then it grew into a line leading up the stairs, you pondered for a moment before following it and as you did so the glow behind you disappeared.

The green line lead you to the door it basically carried on through that door and you were very hesitant to open it. It was your grandmas bedroom. You were never allowed in there, there could be anything in that room but you needed that spell. You opened the door but still didn’t go inside, the room wasn’t all that exciting she had an alter by her window, her bed and the bookshelf. Bingo. You held out your hand and thought of the counter spell again and a book from the shelf started making its way into your hand. You smiled happily it was your grandmothers book of shadows, just then the book opened itself to the page you were looking for. ‘Spooky’ you thought.

Taking your phone out you took a picture of both pages one was the real spell and the other was the counter, you checked the before pages and the after pages to make sure you didn’t miss anything then doing the same you placed the book back on the self the same way you took it out then shut the door like you had never been near it. You sighed upon entering your own room and sank into your bed. You had the spell all this could be over by tonight you can send them home but. There’s always a but, you were starting to enjoy their company you didn’t want it to be over except if you kept them here it would be selfish of you and whoever sent them here wins.

You spent the whole day thinking of this that you hadn’t noticed that the boys came to visit you, they just chilled outside your window out of sight of anyone else but enough so you could notice them. They waiting and you were so deep in thought that they had to break you from your trance by tapping on the window.

“Sugar, you gonna let us in?” Paul flashed you his cutest smile and puppy dog eyes, you couldn’t say no to those, you headed towards the window and opened it.

“Come on in but keep quiet.” You pointed to the door meaning your grandma was home they all understood. Without a doubt at all Paul and Marko started having their little nosy around your room all your trinkets and stuff. They were both so easily entertained, you smiled at their interactions with all your modern day technology. Dwayne was looking at the things on your wall trying to avoid touching anything. You noticed Paul making his way to your drawers and you basically pounced in front of him blocking the drawers.

“Nope, those are strictly for my eyes only, no boys allowed.” You tried to stay as clam as possible, the two blondes exchanged looks and work matching smirks but backed away.

“Did you find anything?” David grabbed everyone’s attention with such one simple question that had one simple answer. You looked at their faces there was a sense of hope in their eyes, they wanted to go back home the boys were itching for it. And with your simple answer you said…

“No.”

How I would have done Wanda in the MCU (Part 1)

Note that these are just my opinions and if you do not agree then simply scroll away and ignore it

Hellooo

So I may make this a recurring thing but for today, I’d like to discuss Wanda Maximoff or the Scarlet Witch.

Note the fact that obviously everything that was going to happen to her character arc in phase 4 was not planned when she was seen in winter soldier so I do have the benefit of hindsight and this is by no means, something that should have been done or anything.

I am not a screenwriter and this will not be perfect.

This is a 3 part series of sorts where

Part 1 : phase 2 (the winter soldier, age of ultron)

Part 2 : phase 3 (civil war, infinity war, endgame)

Part 3 : phase 4 (wandavision, multiverse of madness, some other ideas of where they could take her character)

Keeping that in mind, let’s get into it

Captain America : The Winter Soldier

Now this post credit scene is crucial as it sets up both the twins

Now as creepy as the original sequence already is

A more ominous version could be done so that it not only ties into her sort of gothic persona in Age of Ultron but also the witchy side in wandavision and multiverse of madness

The credits are rolling but then as soon as they’re about the finish, the music cuts off and the screen goes black

As it fades into the scene, we see the back of two of the scientists’ heads

They are discussing some people with genetic mutations that they have caught at a recent protest

“Isn’t their kind supposed to be extinct or something?” one of them whispers

“Who knows at this point. This wouldn’t be the first time they showed up out of nowhere” the other mutters

As they continue talking, their voices fade out and we pan over to the file in front of them

Wanda Maximoff. Pietro Maximoff

Aged 20 Aged 20

Mutations : Mutations :

Telekinesis Enhanced speed

Neuro-electro interfacing Increased metabolism

Mind control Enhanced perception

And then as the mumble of voices in the background continue, we see what they are talking about

A blur moves in front of them, only incased by the walls

Then a cut to a shot of her hands as they trap the floating blocks within red wisps

Then a cut as she crashes two together

Just the hands

Unknown to a casual fan

Now you may notice that I have aged them up but that is simply to align with her age in wandavision

I have also given Pietro some extra powers simply because speedsters are really powerful and he was killed off early and severely under utilised for a reason

Also I think it sets up her powers better than Maria Hill just telling us and keeps them clear so that they don’t get confusing in later projects ( * cough cough * wandavision and multiverse of madness )

Avengers : Age of Ultron

“You and I can hurt them, but you.. can tear them apart”

Now it is widely acknowledged that this film isn’t the best but one of the points I think it really missed out on was the twins. Because truth be told, Pietro’s death barely had an impact ( on the audience )

So the things I would have done differently would be :

🥀 Adding one more scene (or two) between the twins

It could just be them discussing how they don’t agree with Ultron anymore and how he has gotten out of hand

This can explore their dynamics

Wanda, despite being younger, acts older and takes charge of the conversation and Pietro just pulls the 12 seconds older line which makes them both laugh as they look at each other, unsure of the future but knowing that’s whatever will happen - it’ll happen with them along side each other

Also I think Wanda acting older in this way can reflect how long she has been living on her own, being independent and how she reflects that onto others. By being protective of the only family she has left - her brother ( and eventually her children and vision )

🥀Even when they join with the Avengers because, she should resent Tony and Stark industries

I find it weird how Tony’s missile causing the death of her parents is almost never acknowledged

So (for now), it can just be small shots of the twins glaring at Tony whenever he speaks or them preferring to stand away or next to Clint or Steve rather than him

🥀 I think her curiosity with Vision should have gone further

He is basically a reboot of someone who wanted to destroy the world

How can she trust him?

She trusted Ultron before she found this out

But how can she him

I can picture Wanda being scared of looking into his head and then him encouraging her and them having a conversation (even if it’s small)

Maybe they could talk about how Vision feels overwhelmed because this new world is a lot to process, Wanda in some ways feels the same. She is not a hero, she never thought she would be at least. And most of these people are foreign to her. She was taught to hate them by Ultron and now she is working with the very man that killed her parents.

These similarities can be acknowledged and then a small line about them making plans to watch sit coms together can be dropped before Pietro smashes a jacket in her face - signalling they have to leave

🥀The costumes

This is very nit-picky but it has to be said

The costumes for the twins are shit (in this movie)

I get that they have just escaped hydra and don’t have much to wear and obviously won’t be the fashion icons of the century but they are just so terrible

Pietro’s are basically just gym clothes (which I don’t necessarily mind)

But Wanda..

girlie is in a low cut, short dress that exposes part of her bra. You know when she is fighting a battle.

I just don’t get the point (other than just sexualising her)

If they wanted to go for more of the goth (witch) thing, then something like replacing the jacked with a short coat (similar to the ending scene), or incorporating mesh or more leather (for more of the superhero look)

But I think her hair open in does work, simply because of how it still looks a bit amateur compared to Nat who has cut it short for convenience and also how it looks as she finally breaks down

(P.S I love the rings, the cuffs and the boots she wears though and I think they really fit in with her vibes)

🥀what she did to Bruce

It should have been explored more and she should have faced more consequences or even confrontation

She drove him mad and caused a rampage

Something that he used to have in control but now isn’t sure anymore and makes him doubt himself even more

She should have faced repercussions but she didn’t

Another plot point the movie just left hanging

A small scared glance from Bruce, him standing next to Tony opposite her or anything

And then in the final battle, she does something to save him

Obviously it doesn’t automatically fix things and he does not forgive her (or even himself) but it does set up the fact she is trying to become better

🥀One more thing that doesn’t really need to happen but would have been cool

The fact that they mentioned the twins’ parents and how Ultron wants to turn the entire world to metal and there is not a single mention of magneto

Like I know he probably isn’t her father in the MCU and Fox probably still owned the rights but one line from Ultron about how “your father would have loved this” or “you are going to make your parents proud” would have been really cool

Both can blend right in as it ties into her motivation to side with Ultron in the first place

Just some things I like about her character in the movie :

🥀Olsen is and always has been amazing in her performances and this movie is no different

🥀her relationship with hawkeye is really sweet

🥀the scene where vision is ‘born’ and the first person the camera looks over to is Wanda-

🥀when she finally loses her shit and cries out in grief of her brother

🥀the way she hasn’t yet mastered how to fight yet or even her powers but she is trying to prove and better herself with people like Vision, Cap and Clint supporting her and fuelled by the grief and rage of her brother’s death

🥀the scene where she steps out after Clint’s speech

Alright

16 Ways to Connect with the Gods when you don't have an Altar

So I'm currently away from home for 10 days (pet/house sitting) and I don't have an altar space with me. I have my tarot deck and that's it. I decided to write this list incase it might help someone else who is away from home or is just in the pagan closet. Enjoy!

Read your Deity's myths or listen to people read myths on youtube

Sit outside and just think about them

Set your phone background to something that reminds you of them

Wear their colours or symbols

Make or listen to a playlist dedicated to your Deity/Deities

Do a digital offering on tumblr or another site

Just talk to them about your day

Write some poetry for them. Anything can be poetry, it doesn't have to be good

Scroll through their tags on social media

If you have coloured shoelaces wear their corresponding colours on your shoes!! (I can't believe i didn't think about this earlier)

Do your make up to honour them

Talk about them in a (dedicated witchy/pagan) discord server

Do something nice for someone. I know it's cheesy but it's cliche for a reason. For me it definitely makes me feel closer to my Gods

Draw/make art of them or one of their symbols

Youtube ambiance videos are great! If your Deity has an association with fire, water, birds, communal spaces or music there are heaps of videos on Youtube that you can play. Think coffee shop ambiance (communal space), waterfall/rain/water ambiance, nature/bird chirping ambiance, fire place ambiance, studying at the library ambiance, etc. endless possibilities

Draw their sigils/symbols on your face with skin care

I'm sending you this in the hopes that you're just genuinely curious, because you otherwise seem like you're pro LGBTQ+. If this isn't just curiousity, please don't involve me in any discourse, I'm not interested.

You reblogged a post from radicaldivine and emocrochetwitch about the queer pride flag. Both of these people are TERFs, trans-exclusionary radical feminists (which is why I, a trans person, am not reblogging from the post directly). Radicaldivine tagged the post as radfem, and emocrochetwitch didn't, but literally the second post I saw when I went to their blog was mocking nonbinary people, and a few posts later they agreed with someone saying they hate trans people, so it's safe to say they're a TERF too.

Radicaldivine posted the current queer pride flag. It has the rainbow which people commonly associate with queer people, and then a triangle with the intersex pride flag in the center, then white, pink, and blue stripes for the trans pride flag, and a black and brown stripe specifically representing black and brown queer people. The black and brown come from the Philadelphia pride flag, which was just the standard pride flag with the black and brown stripes at the top. This was made in response to racism in Philadelphia, and how it impacted queer black and brown people in the city. It debuted in 2017, created by the city of Philadelphia and the design agency Tierny (according to the Inquirer). I believe the trans stripes and black and brown stripes were added in a triangle to the main pride flag in the same year, 2018 (designed by artist Daniel Quasar according to them.). The intersex flag section was added just last year, by Valentino Vecchietti (according to Wikipedia).

Radicaldivine is mocking this flag because it includes trans and intersex people, and presumably also because it includes POC. The flag pictured below that is the original pride flag, designed by Gilbert Baker in 1978. The pink and turquoise strips were removed because those color fabrics were more difficult to find than the other colors. Radicaldivine is presumably saying that we should go back to this flag that does not include the more marginalized people in the queer community because she is trans-exclusionary and racist.

Emocrochetwitch is clearly agreeing with this, saying, as her text on the flag states, that straight white men who learn misogyny from porn (which is a common TERF opinion) hide behind black and brown people while they discriminate against LGB people--leaving out the T, because she of course doesn't think trans people should be included. I think she's saying it's the straight white men who are screwing over LGB people, not the black and brown people, though lack of punctuation makes it unclear.

Honestly though, if you follow emocrochetwitch, who you reblogged from, I can't see how you don't agree with her. Just going through part of her blog makes me sick. She spews a lot of vile things about trans and nonbinary people, calling us "sick" and agreeing with people who tell us to "grow the fuck up." So I'm sending you this in the hopes that her post was just something you came across not from following her, and that you support trans and nonbinary people and want to learn. If that's not the case, please don't post this--I'm not interested in fighting anyone. I'm just trying to educate in what ways I can.

I apologize for the reminder and I thank you for the explanation. I am genuinely one who just wants to learn. Most people I follow are for their witchy content. When something pops up on my feed that I dont know much about thats when I genuinely ask. Earlier I was actually talking to my spouse (a non binary grey sexual black american) about it and they themselves thought what they were saying was strange. Ive never been shown their TERF content and wouldve reacted a lot sooner if I did. I hope answering publicly doesnt cause any issues but I wanted what you said to be shared in case there are others like me who genuinely dont know. The internet on a whole is a scary place and its quite easy to slip down the wrong rabbit hole. Thank you for a redirection. I appreciate those willing to educate and try to be one myself
