Carcass
United Kingdom
Band photos, including one during a live performance, and the band's 1989 sophomore LP, "Symphonies of Sickness"
A nasty, gritty record, yet innovative, with plenty of vomit-inducing riffs and vocals that helped further build the growing goregrind genre their debut LP, "Reek of Putrefaction", helped start.

Carcass - Symphonies Of Sickness
This is my favorite Carcass record, although it’s probably not the one I listen to the most frequently. Carcass’s history as a band starts with them essentially inventing or at least extremely innovating and popularizing the goregrind genre and then slowly morphing to what to me seems like the polar opposite (at least as far as death metal goes) to melodic death metal.
Their album Reek of Putrefaction is their most Goregrind-esc record and, starting with Heartwork, most their later work is more melodic death, but for a sweet album, a mere 43 minutes of brutal bliss, they were a melodic goregrind band and it was fucking beautiful. (Necroticism too but that feels more like brutal melodic death metal then melodic goregrind to me) That’s this record here. Symphonies of Sickness. This album is just so fucking wild to listen to if you’re a sub genre nerd like I am. Just a perfect synthesis of these two genres from one of the best bands in history. Carcass fucking definitely established themselves as a legendary group to me. I mean fuck I have one of their albums as my shower curtain! Absolutely a record every metal head should check out. Highly recommend to everyone!!

Netflixvania fans will hate Mariacard because one's 16 and the other's an adult after shipping and continuing to ship Trephacard, which has a teenager shipped with two adults
EDIT: Okay I know this isn't obvious but it needs to be said, Netflix Maria uses the design of 12 year old Maria, but she's actually 16. SOTN Maria is 17, which makes her a year older than Netflix Maria. If there was a 5 year time skip in the show, that would make Maria 21.

"im just a quirky note in the symphony" may have been the funniest/stupidest possible line for that to actually be once we got the official lyrics but it DOES cement symphony as a true weirdgirl anthem. so really its perfect
