What in the Name? - RTL und das Namensproblem

Markennamen sind wichtig. Das heißt es zumindest immer. Und wenn jemand im deutschsprachigen Raum wirklich dieser Meinung ist, dann ist das die RTL-Gruppe. Ihr erinnert euch vielleicht noch, dass die ihr Streaming Service mitten in der Covid-Epidemie in RTL+ umbenannt haben, damit es nicht nur eindeutig zu RTL gehörig zu erkennen ist, sondern auch als Streaming Service erkenntlich ist, wie Apple+ und Disney+ (nicht, dass Netflix Netflix+ heißen würde oder Amazon Prime Video Amazon+, aber wer wird es denn schon so genau nehmen?). Damals hieß der RTL-Streamer nämlich TVNow. Ursprünglich hatte er RTLNow geheißen, doch das war geändert worden. Und von einem Plus war nirgendwo was zu sehen gewesen. Also schritt man zur Tat. Es gab allerdings das Problem, dass es bereit ein RTL+ gab, nämlich einen normalen Sender der RTL-Gruppe, der etwas weniger aufregendes Programm zu bieten hatte als RTL oder RTL2, aber nichts destro trotz RTL+ hieß. Aus ihm wurde damals RTL Up, weil der zweite Vox-Sender ja auch Vox Up heißt, nehme ich an.

Wie auch immer, seit beinahe einem Monat gibt es wieder einen Namens-Änderung in der RTL-Gruppe, die ihr vielleicht nicht mitbekommen habt oder nicht ernst genommen habt, bis ihr, sagen wir mal, zufällig "Sing!"auf den Sender angesehen habt und festgestellt habt, nein, die meinen das total ernst (leider). Der seit Jahrzehnten als SuperRTL bekannte Kinder-Sender der RTL-Gruppe heißt nämlich seit Mitte August RTL Super. Ja, das habt ihr richtig gelesen, aus SuperRTL wurde RTL Super. Mit der offiziellen Begründung, das bei allen Diensten der RTL-Gruppe RTL vorne stehen soll, damit klar wird, dass man es mit einem RTL-Dienst zu tun hat (nein, diese Erklärung könnte ich nicht erfinden, die ist offiziell). Und der Sender nimmt den neuen Namen auch ernst, denn schon wirbt er nun voller Enthusiasmus für den "Super Film am Samstag". Denn jetzt ist Super ja nicht mehr der Name des Senders, sondern eine Beschreibung deren Inhalte. Doch wer sich jetzt wundert, nein, Toggo heißt nach wie vor Toggo und nicht RTL-Toggo oder so was, zumindest bis jetzt. Soviel also zu der Erklärung, dass RTL immer überall vorne stehen muss (oder überhaupt im Namen sein muss wie im Fall von RTL+).

Übrigens gibt es noch eine witzige Geschichte zum Thema RTL und Namen. Ich habe ja vorher RTL2 erwähnt, nur dass dieser Sender zwar früher so geheißen haben mag, aber schon seit geraumer Zeit nicht mehr so hieß. Genau genommen hieß er ja schon seit den Neunzigern RTL II (wer kann sich nicht an die römische Zwei erinnern, die bis heute im Logo des Senders zu sehen ist?), aber seit Oktober 2019 heißt der Sender eigentlich RTLZwei, weil ... keine Ahnung das Logo so länger ist und besser ins Auge sticht? Diese Veränderung fand ich immer besonders seltsam, war mir aber nie einen Mandela-Effekt wert - in den 2000ern und frühen 2010ern lief auf RTL II durchaus einiges an Serienware, die man sich gerne angesehen hat und mitunter auch aufnehmen musste, weil sie zu spät oder gestaffelt gelaufen ist, daher wusste ich immer, dass das ausgeschriebene Zwei früher nicht vorhanden war, danke vielmals. Dann stand es plötzlich da, und wie man siehst war es zeitlinientechnisch der Anfang des Umbenennungswahns der RTL-Gruppe, der RTL+ und RTL Up und jetzt RTL Super nach sich zog.

Was kommt als Nächstes? Wie gesagt vermutlich erwischt es Toggo als Nächstes, immerhin steht in diesem Namen ja nichts von RTL drinnen. Andere Kandidaten sind natürlich Vox (und Vox Up) sowie n-tv, die ja auch alle nichts von RTL in ihren Namen zu sehen haben. Nur in was die alle umbenannt werden sollen, das weiß keiner. Oder vielleicht ist ihnen zwischendurch mal wieder fad im Hirn und sie benennen RTLZwei um in RTLZwo. Dümmer kann es ja immer werden.

Ob das Ändern von Namen dazu beiträgt Quoten oder Abonnenten zu gewinnen sei dahin gestellt. Im Übrigen bin ich ja der Meinung, dass das Ändern von bekannten Markennamen wie SuperRTL oder TVNow Zuseher eher abschreckt als gewinnt, aber bitte. Die RTL-Gruppe wird schon wissen was sie tut. So wie sie damals wusste warum sie ihr Streaming Service nicht mehr nach ihrem Hauptsender benennen wollten, nur um ein paar Jahre später dahinter zu kommen, dass das wohl ein Fehler gewesen war.

Also vielleicht haben wir Glück und RTL Super hält sich nicht und darf irgendwann mal wieder SuperRTL heißen. Irgendein neuer Marketing Stratege mag vielleicht dahinter kommen, dass das besser so wäre. Und bis dahin haben wir wenigstens lauter Super-Filme dort anzusehen, denn immerhin muss ja alles was auf RTL Super läuft super sein, nicht wahr?

lange blieb es still und auch wenn ich mich immer wieder umgeschaut habe, waren auskünfte im web nicht zu finden. nun aber doch: „Weihnachtsmann & Co. KG“ kommt auch in diesem jahr wieder auf super RTL, und zwar schon ab 04.11. mit täglichen doppelfolgen ab 18.20h das ist zwar arg früh, aber es reduziert die gefahr, in einem jahr mal eine der folgen zu verpassen.

Nope I didn’t. Disney channel was definitely a thing back then, but I think it used to be pay tv until 2010? Idk. I grew up watching Cartoon Network and Jetix, and then later Nickelodeon 👀

I’ve still seen most of the popular Disney shows because we had SuperRTL and they basically showed the same stuff as Disney channel did

A lot of really good stuff is currently happening on my end of things bc I am finally tackling shit that activates my fight/flight response & it's giving me a push to do more things I am anxious about.

(Ya know, try stuff out at least once instead of constant avoidance in fear of failure.)

So something I 100% want to do occasionally on my streams is look at old German TV advertisements, specifically from the kid channels. Knowing previous watch-parties I did with friends, I would probably stick with "SuperRTL".

There are ads I will most likely have to skip bc of Twitch TOS bc I don't trust an American site to be normal about stuff that is normal & common place in Europe - aka. showing skin in ads.

But regardless I think it would be fun! Especially because most of you all wouldn't get to see specific brands, food & even shows that simply didn't make it to outside of Europe or just Germany otherwise.

Plus, you'd get to see/hear the German dub of ads we just took from America. They are rare, but they made my friends go "-WAIT A SECOND" both with surprise that we had the ad & that we were pretty close to the cadence of the original ad. Or not close at all. :)

Ive been getting really into Elisabeth: Das Musical lately and I havent really talked about it here even though I do have a lot of thoughts because its about like, a historical figure. Like, thats a real person that was alive at some point and idk, it just makes me feel so embarassed to enjoy it because of that even though it is really good, like I have no idea how the Hamilton Fandom with all the fanfics and fanart and headcanons and AUs (animatics are a different story though) was ever A Thing because Im just looking at all that stuff and Im going "youre not embarassed?? you dont feel like the most cringe person on this stupid baka earth for this??" And Im not even saying that because I think the hamilton fandom is THAT cringe I just literally cant imagine having the kind of mindset that would allow you to enjoy it like that, if that makes sense

Anyway, the reason Im bringing that up is not because I actually wanna talk about Elisabeth: Das Musical, its because Elisabeth: Das Musical reminded me of a different piece of Sisi Media that I used to watch when I was a kid and it was this animated series where she could talk to animals using some kind of amulett I think?? Or some kind of different piece of jewelry or accessoire and thats just really weird to me. Like, I have absolutely no desire to watch it because I remember thinking it was really boring as a kid and only watching it on SuperRTL when there were commercials running on nickelodeon but in hindsight Im like "thats the second most bizarre premise for a show Ive heard of since the one about two kids traveling back in time using a magical science cube to rescue their dad who got kidnapped through time and space except when they travel back in time they travel to bible stories because all the bible stories are actually real and also the guy who kidnapped their dad is trying to prevent them from happening I think"

Vielleicht gibt das ein wenig Inspiration für dich. Es sind Klassiker die man in KiGA oft zu lesen bekommt aber jede Altersklasse liebt sie. Bei vielen gibt es auch Serien & Filme dazu. -wunschpunsch, pipi Langstrumpf, Räuber Hotzenplotz, Ronja Räubertochter, Nils Holgerson, Frederick Maus, Zauberer Oz, Guilliver Reisen, der geheime Garten, 80 Tage um die Welt,Oliver Twist, 3Nüsse Aschenbrödel, Münchhausen, Urmel, Anne Greengarden, Laura Stern, Pinocchio, Sindbad, der kleine Prinz.

Uhhhhh ich erinnere mich an einige Titel xD Habe diese aber nie gelesen, wenn es aber Film oder Serie dazu gab, dann bestimmt kurz gesehen?

Hab als Kind sehr selten Kika geschaut. War mehr interessiert an den Serien, die auf Nick und SuperRTL liefen :D Wenn du mit KiGA Kindergarten meinst, dann... muss ich gestehen, dass ich nie in einem war lol :' )
