Okay, I am not that far into One Piece yet but I have to share this image in my head of the ASL brothers

So we've got Luffy right, feral creature but cute sometimes, very much a goober. You think his brothers would look similar to him in terms of feral creature-ness.

Then you meet Ace who is a very handsome, very charming guy and your brain short circuits a bit. Like him??? You're Luffy's brother??? He does have a bit of cringefail to him though, but overall he's quite the looker and it's hard to imagine this handsome guy grew up with Luffy.

Then you find out there's another brother, surely he'd be more like Luffy. But then Sabo shows up and is so pretty you have to double take to make sure you didn't walk into some kind of fashion shoot and run into a supermodel. Now you're short circuiting even more cause how the hell did this guy also grow up with the feral creature that is Luffy??? Although, his eyes do have a slight crazed look in them that unsettles you a bit.

Sketch dump! Since my handwriting isn't the best, I'm gonna transcribe what I've written under the cut :)

[Generation 1 iterators are the stocky initial proof of concept. There's only a handful of them, even fewer are still alive for the events of the game.

Gen 1's have very basic fashion. Long Robes and all that. NSH was the first to really personalize himself with a scarf. He was very proud.]

[Generation 2 are the most... abundant iterator model. Able to mechanically outpace the gen 1's, gen 2's were the start of the ancients' technological renaissance. Since there are so many of them, not all of them really care about staying in touch.

They take a lot of their fashion from the ancients. Some more than others.]

[Generation 3 were going to be the great new step foward technologically. As you can imagine the ancients disappearing gave them a lot of emotional issues.

Gen 3's tend to talk to other iterators the most, though they are... very easy to upset.

They base their fashion on their fellow iterators! They draw inspiration from those they are close to or idolize.

Chasing wind looks up to SOS but doesn't know her personally.]

[The next image is general design notes for myself when drawing iterator bodies, no big lore there.

The last image is how i imagine their suspension arms and umbilical attaches to their backs. How they connect through their clothing? I don't know and I don't feel like trying to figure it out. Also I drew Moon with her dress bc I think it's real cute :)]

Well. Despite the fact that unplugging the monitor from the computer and plugging it back in several times did not work before, it randomly did work while I was trying to talk to a friend about how I don't have more than one hdmi port. So I guess it's fine now. But this is kind of awkward because I already arranged to get a replacement monitor and money has been spent and everything so I guess maybe my computer just wanted monetary sacrifice. Ok

Was trying to figure out why Hansel and Gretel randomly appeared in a book I was reading, with candy house backstory and everything, in a story that otherwise was not directly informed by a specific fairy tale. At least to my knowledge, it all felt pretty original, until the villainous antagonist started spinning straw into gold and mentioned being betrayed by a miller's daughter and I cupped my head in my hands like, ah, th-the way to defeat him... they gotta figure out his true name... this whole time... he's been rumpelstiltskin.

#rose and rambles #okay but actually im going to agonize over this choice a bit #like i feel like the hansel and gretel was specifically to prepare us for rumpel but if you took out all three of their names #i wonder #i wonder if that could have been better #because the world building and everything felt *really* spectacularly original and obviously more fae inclined than either #of those fairy tales and the main narrative was not rumpelstiltskin the rumpelstiltskin fairy tale was just backstory #and it was kind of jarring when Hansel and gretel appeared midway for a chapter or two but i guess it contextualized the world for me #Because I *hadn't* been thinking of it as having *direct* fairy tales in it #i think having two characters be like 'ya a woman tricked us with a house made of candy' is obviously a reference to hansel and gretel but #i think it could have felt more natural if it wasn't *directly* hansel and gretel #but a bro and sis with different names that fit the main characters better?#BUT THEN rumpelstiltskin's name does come into play and how else are you going to lead up to the fact that a character has been using a fak #name? you can't have a villain just randomly being like CURSES YOU GUESSED MY TRUE NAME #WHICH IS JOHN #like there's no way. you have to build up to it but once the audience is like oh ya we know hansel and gretel were here and the straw into #gold? got it. know the villain has a different name before the protagonists and also *know* the name to boot. Great #but then the name didn't seem............. necessary in the end anyway because they had him with a contract and they used that to get #the name out him??????????#So maybe it could have been a different name????????#idk #i will say i did love the main characters #They were pretty incredible actually

And no, pinterest girlie, the american greaseburger drivethrough place would not put chia seeds, almond milk or that little sugar into their icecream.
