thinking about falling for your divorce lawyer one mr steve harrington 😘
Oh, you little sneaky 🥹
I'm envisioning him as someone who did not want to go into that profession, not at all, but he felt pressured by his mostly absent father, and so he learned the basics, enough to get by. He ends up loving the work and diving into it wholeheartedly once he realizes he can help people, but he never charges enough, if anything, so he often struggles financially.
You wanted to settle everything amicably, but now your soon-to-be ex-husband has a fancy lawyer (his parents are loaded) and you're shuffling down the sidewalk in tears, trying to figure out what to do, when you see Steve's face on a bench at the bus stop. The sight of his easy grin makes you feel light for the first time in days, and you see that he specializes in "affordable" services.
His office is in shambles, not because he's a messy person, but he's over-worked and understaffed. His best friend Robin is his secretary, and she's on the phone when you enter, while the three other lines blink for the callers who are on hold. Robin looks ecstatic to see you, motioning for you to take a seat in one of the four orange, plastic chairs against the wall.
The door with the frosted window across from her desk bursts open, making some papers fly off the desk, and Steve yanks down the necktie that hangs loose around his neck. Shirt sleeves rolled up to expose some forearm tattoos, scalp glistening in sweat, and his hair is imprinted with the lines of his fingers from running a hand through it all day.
You get to your feet, but Steve doesn't see you. Robin puts the receiver to her chest to hear what he has to say, but her eyes keep darting to you.
"My cupboards are stocked with Ramen noodles in case you want a movie night this weekend," he stretches his arms wide with a hearty yawn. The next part he says in a whisper, "unless you're still dating what-her-face with the hyena laugh from the Estee Lauder counter at the mall."
Robin puts the phone back to her ear and says a cordial goodbye to whoever was on the other line, and then she hangs up and tries to gesture in your direction.
"I will say, I like her better than the grumpy one you had a crush on at---"
"Steve!" Robin cuts him off, and he rests his hip against the desk to cross his foot over his ankle. "Your 4:00 is here."
You notice him visibly stiffen, head snapping in your direction, but then his face softens, a sincere smile warming all the way to his eyes. A few more swipes of his hand through his hair for good luck.
You hug your coat tighter and introduce yourself.
Steve's cheeks flush pink from embarrassment, and he extends his arm for a firm, comforting handshake. He notices that your eyes are puffy, most likely from crying and lack of sleep, mascara smudged at the corners.
He leans in with a soft pat to your arm. "Now, let's give your husband something to cry about."
(I'm not very good at writing/imagining white collar Steve, but damn I really giggled and got excited about this ask. Thank you, whoever you are 😘)

assigning ronance signature scents
because i am obsessed with fragrance and this is kind of like my hidden talent and i want to use it on robin and nancy.
this is not historically accurate because i really am just out here having a silly goofy time, i mostly just use this as a resource in my fics and wanted to share!
nancy:
starting with my best girl because i actually have info to help me with this! during the filming of s1 natalia bought a vintage bottle of charlie blue (which i also bought, as an experiment) to wear and get into nancy’s headspace (it was literally awful. she made joe keery sneeze or cough according to the story). but to get to the point, charlie blue is a floral fragrance, leading me to pick two floral perfumes for nancy. more specifically, i picked “pure white linen” from estee lauder (left) and “sun moon and stars” from karl lagerfeld (right).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
not only do i think nancy would stick with florals, i also think she'd stick with name brands (like what you could find at macy's). charlie blue is a revlon perfume, so it led me to believe that while the wheelers have money, they aren't exactly spending it on something like fragrance that is just going to be drained. i also think karen may have bought nancy her first fragrance based on what she knew, because that's what her mother did, and nancy never bothered to venture out until she was older. "pure white linen" gives me daily use vibes, while "sun moon and stars" is more special occasions/dates. i also think she has a permanent lingering smell of ink and paper but that's not featured here.
robin:
oh robin. to the surprise of no one, these are a bit more gender-neutral to masculine than nancy's. when thinking about robin, i wanted things that were masculine, but still had a touch of softness and sweetness to it. fragrance has no gender, but a lot of masculine fragrances created in the 1980s were very masculine (think branding for men like GLACIER ICE FREEZE vs soft vanilla woods for women) so if she were to buy fragrance in the 1980s, i think she'd steal steve's cologne or spend five hours trying to pick a cologne that is slightly less overly masculine. that all being said, i picked 'skins x vilhelm' by vilhelm parfumerie (left) and 'ambre topkapi' by mdci parfums (right)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
as you may notice, there's a lot of lavender, sandalwood, leather, and tea in these fragrances. that is completely on purpose, because i find that those pull especially gender neutral-masculine on a lot of people that is soooo appealing. they also don't flag incredibly masculine on first sniff, making it so most people can get away with wearing them and not smelling like a forty year old man named Tim that works a 9-5 and plays golf. the floral and spice notes work as countering pairings of each other but in the best way, and i could totally see robin wearing this in her full butch glory. also, the queer history of lavender is not to be ignored and robin certainly wouldn't ignore it. to me, i see robin wearing 'skins' on a more day-to-day basis, and 'ambre' as a special occasion/date thing.
anyway that's it! i love talking about fragrance and i don't think i've ever really talked about it here except for the coco chanel poll so PLEASE talk about it with me if you'd like.

Meghan vs various FLOTUSI comparison as put forward by previous anon.
On the one hand i agree with anon regarding the absurdity of this comparison as promoted by Meghan and her supporters when their education is so far above anything Meghan has studied.
However, i disagree thst we should only look at accomplishments measured via education because some of the most accomplished people walking this earth, past and present are either school/ university dropouts or were barely educated at all.
Examples like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Mark Dell, Steve Jobs, Jay Z, Francois Pinault, John D Rockefeller, almost every A-list Hollywood actor, producer, director since invention of the medium and many, many more don’t have a degree at all.
Richard Branson and Bernie Ecclestone famously dropped out of school at 16yrs old. Estee Lauder (company founder) was educated only upto High School. Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel was barely educated, but learnt to be a seamstress during her teen years. Eleanor Rosevelt was only educated via High School followed by finishing school. Ditto Diana, Princess of Wales etc
Whatever their level of education or lack thereof, these people have gone out into the world to accomplish whatever they set out to do.
Meghan doesn’t compare because she chooses to co-opt other people’s accomplishments when they can’t or won’t pushback OR she (tries) attaches herself to super accomplished people and pretends they are on the same level in terms of achievements.
Meghan’s accomplishments are very few and only benefit herself. The accomplishments she tries to co- opt by association tend to be of benefit to the world and thus have elevated the person to fame, high status, fortune or even power.
It’s important to note thst she’s not interested in doing the work that produces those or any results. She’s only interested in the fame, power, status and money of those people and wants that for herself without doing work for it.
The closest she worked for fame and money was the hunt for rich husband. She landed Harold and got bonus gift of power and status.
She thinks it’s just as easy to reel in the other power players as itvwas during her 18mths in the BRF without understanding that it was the BRF platform those people responded initially, but without it OR without substance or both, these people will walk away like the Clooneys did.
They initially supported her, but as soon as they got what they came for -KC or rather Charles, PoW, they dropped Meghan which happened long before Megxit.
===
Thank you anon, and it’s generous of you to say that she has a few accomplishments under her belt ;)

FOR THE CHARACTER ASK GAME💕
I would like to propose Billy Hargrove, because...obvious reasons... and I love your takes on Billy!🥰
a song that reminds me of them: rock you like a hurricane by scorpions, for obvious reasons, but also heartbreaker by pat benatar
what they smell like: spicy and warm, earthy, but clean. like amber and leather and hair spray and tobacco. he canonically uses etée lauder aramis and paco rabanne pour homme, (which both smell amazing btw) but even before i smelled them for myself, i imagined that's exactly what he would smell like
my favorite outfit they’ve ever worn: definitely a tie between the denim on denim and the slutty red shirt & leather jacket combo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
favorite platonic/familial relationships: max & billy, of course i wish they had a better relationship, and that's where fanfics come in handy for developing that lol, but i still love that despite how strained and full of conflict their relationship is, there's obviously still some loyalty there at the end.
the position they sleep in: on his side, curled around a pillow
a crossover au i’d love to see them in: i know i've talked about it a little with you before, but i'm pretty excited about my disturbia!au in which billy's stuck on house arrest, falls for the new girl next door, and has to thwart a serial killer preying on the teenage girls of hawkins
putting the rest under a readmore for my more controversial takes lmao
an otp: lewgrove what can i say? once an oc/canon shipper, always an oc/canon shipper
a notp: you're probably gunna hate me for this lol, but h*rringrove
a headcanon that is popular in the fandom but that i disagree with: a;dlfkjd;l another opinion that i will probably get hate for;;; but i don't really buy into the whole billy bullying steve equals flirting thing. pls don't come for me

There are very few Public Philanthropists. In truth few people will ever know who the true Philanthropists are, public or private
Sure Forbes puts them on their list if they’ve given so much, but when you take their Confirmed Net Worth and realize most of them have secret offshore accounts and compare to their Combined Lifetime of Giving you’ll see it really a list of shame
There’s really only 1 Person on the Forbes List who I would call Philanthropic and that’s...
George Soros: He Has a CNW of $8.6 Billion, but his CLG is $16.8 Billion
Tumblr media
The Rest Are The Look At Us Group...
Julia Koch and Family: Have a CNW of $52.9 Billion, but their CLG is only $1.2 Billion
Charles Koch: Has a CNW of $90. Billion, but their CLG is only $1.3 Billion
Mark Zuckerberg & Priscilla Chan: Have a CNW of $72.6 Billion, but their CLG is only $2.7 Billion
Phil Knight and Family: Have a CNW of $52.9 Billion, but their CLG is only $1.2 Billion
Steve and Connie Ballmer: Have a CNW of $72.6 Billion, but their CLG is only $1.4 Billion
Michael and Susan Dell: Have a CNW of $40.4 Billion, but their CLG is only $2.25 Billion
Pierre Omidyar: has a CNW of $21.6 Billion, but his CLG is only $1.3 Billion
Donald Bren: Has a CNW of $15.3 Billion, but their CLG is only $1.3 Billion
Leonard Lauder: Has a CNW of $22. Billion, but their CLG is only $1.4 Billion

Heidi was my favorite part of the show. There were some very funny parts to the show, especially if you are a theater buff. There are about 10 mins of total blackouts, which is mostly a chunk in within the first 13 minutes. Depsite that, a nice capture and the audience was very into the show.
