Thinking about how similar icarus and arisanna actually are, about how she has been through a lot of the same things they have, and that can make her comments towards icarus, and fable, seem so much sharper
An older sibling tasked with taking care of their younger(s) becuase their mom was taken, and the older is the only one who can take care of them, and then, due to a father figure stepping in, losing some (then most) of that love and care, especially through the resets, becuase the younger siblings aren't the ones who are cared about, so why would the love be fostered?
And ari doesn't care at all anymore, apathetic becuase of the vexing that her 'dad' did, now completely uncaring of the allays, but she's been there and done that, and she is doing what best suits her, and shes on fables side, for convenience, and becuase she knows how itll play out for the very fact she has seen what he can do and she has seen the similarites between the two 'father figures' and she is not loyal, and she knows better then to be (even if she actually had any emotional stake in it), and it's something about her having such a clear perspective,
And she was never a failure like icarus fears to be, is labeled every step of the way, even when she was called vaguely equivalent when she was being taken, she was confident in her actions, her only true 'failure' was regarding taking sorazas vessel, and now she doesn't care
And icarus is struggling with that, they have shattered evrery oportunity to undo, they can't go back, but every step further they get just seems a step further in a grave, and they are leaning on their father, on fable
And fable leads them like soldiers to wherever he deems fit,
And arisanna has been there, and it's just, something about how much more pointed that makes her comments
She's been there, and done that,
She knows how to work it, knows how they don't, aren't

Soraza making the override password "Arisanna"
Adorable, we love it, super cute...
(Probably an unpopular opinion) But if you're guessing a password, wouldn't you start with things like, birthdays/ dates... children's names...
Just saying, maybe next time, install the robot with a password strength test...

You know, as much as Arisanna plucked the right string, so did Rae
We've seem Ari annoyed and a tad angry, but not panicked (since the vexing specifically).
That though- that was something.
"Care" is a very interesting word in the way it's being used. Care is a blanket term I feel? it's something that could be broken up into multiple words (like the greek words for love) but since it isn't, theres a lot of wiggling room.
You can care about a friend. You can care about a lover. You can care about a pet. You can care about the food you eat. you can care about the color of your room. You can care about whether a screwdriver you're about to use is broken or not.
These are all varied forms of "care"
And since care can mean all those things, "care" does not mean love.
Namir and Ari's relationship is a real interesting one. Going back to the Picnic party stream, (paraphrasing) Namir said something along the lines of "I will have you back, whether that be as my daughter, a prisoner, or a tool."
That sentence shows that the love Namir is willing to offer is very, very conditional. But unlike Soraza, Namir would actually reciprocate at least a little bit of 'love' and approval. And Ari needed that approval. His care was about them being a good little soldier, not about her actual well being.
Ari still cares. Just... not exactly the same way. Instead of her care being focused on others (siblings, friends, etc), it's focused on herself. She is her own person. She can do whatever she wants. She is in control.
And what threatens control? Care. If you care who you hurt or about your family, that limits your options on what to do with yourself. Care makes people happy, yes, but she's not wrong that care gets people killed.
And right now, the pros of caring do not outweigh the cons. Even if they could care.
but theres exactly that- she cant care. They cannot choose to care.
Even in being apparently freed from caring, given control of herself, she still really isn't in full control, is she?

Thinking about the fact that Enderian gave her life so that her son would survive.
A mother's sacrifice.
Also thinking about the fact that Fable is manipulating his child and making sure that they'd stay loyal to him because he's so afraid of losing him as he's lost his people.
But how many more has he lost during the war, how many lives did he take or end or sent off to certain death?
How many times has he justified death as a means to what he's doing?
And then I think back to when Centross died, and how easily he was able to justify the fact that he had just killed his son's friend.
How easily it came out of his mouth. How easily he spoke the words that he has been telling himself over and over and over again until he made himself believe them.
And I wonder... Does he regret any of those deaths?
Does he regret killing Alerion? Soraza? Aphrien and Archien?
What about Enderian?
Does he regret killing her?
Does he regret the path he's chosen for himself?
...does he regret hurting Isla?

Fable The Lightning Thief AU
tumblr gets my thoughts cuz i am going brr about this. the lightning thief musical but fable characters Rae would be Percy, son of Enderian. Isla would be Sally, she would raise him herself Athena would be Grover, child of Netherum. lil hybrid lad who likes flowers Icarus would be Annabeth. and Centross would be Luke. yknow what that means. sibling relationship with a lot potential for angst. Icarus is trying to impress their dad, Fable, while Centross has given up on the gods after serving Enderian for so long. Rae finds out his mom is a goddess, Athena escorts him to camp, Isla dies to the minotaur, Rae meets Centross. Centross tries to befriend Rae, hinting at the fact that the gods arent good. i dont know who would be Hades/Kronos but- kinda a silly thought though, Nexus as Ares and Galahad as Clarisse. its silly because Galahad is so chill and Clarisse is the opposite of that, but besides that it would fit quite well? Kinaxus as Kronos is an option i guess, mainly cuz Kinaxus is a nether lad and Kronos was trapped in the underworld, but we dont know enoguh about Kinaxus honestly. also, Ari was an option i considered for Luke. she has listened to Soraza for all her life, them finally getting revenge feels vexed Ari coded. and.. well there is the option of Icarus being Percy (ekhem Good Kid is Ic coded, ekhem) but Enderian and Alerion being the big gods fits cuz theyre the oldest. tho Rae as the smart one fits well this has so much potential for prison duo angst and im here for it cuz Luke and Annabeth have such a sibling coded relationship. also Percabeth doesnt exist here- they do be broters- why was Ic not with Isla? we dont question it- who's Gabe? ...that's a thought for later for now i disappear to the void and i'll probably be back with more thoughts later...maybe writing?

Okay I have braincell rights today, so u get to see my silly thoughts.
Slight spoilers for Falling and Falling.
So, we know fable created the resets trying to save his kid that should’ve died ten resets ago. He used it probably through the As It Is book, but he’s out of purgatory. He can’t have access to it anymore. He can’t save his son if they fall again. What if the way FableSMP ends is Icarus falling? Fable created the resets, but he can’t now. What if when Icarus falls and dies, the world crumbles with them and the entire world ends bc fable can’t make another reset happen?
This also ties into a different thought I had directly afterwards. Each season has had the same amount of people dying that the season number was.
Season One had one death, Haley.
Season Two had two deaths technically speaking. Chaos, Perix.
Season Three very much can have three deaths happen. Soraza, Centross, and now, with the thought previously, the potential for Icarus to die by falling.
Or maybe my brain is a little too hyperfixated on fsmp-

the thought that Ari returning back to normal would be connected to memories does make sense, even if it hadnt worked for the allays, the thought that memories would help the daughter of Soraza, the goddess of memories, it made sense
and even if it wasnt about that, less of digging into her past to find something and more just Wolf hoping
it couldve worked :[

fav fable characer
THATS SO HARD RAHHH
Okay I adore Ocie and Arisanna-
(Vexed)Arisanna scares me a tad but I love how well she's written- Like it does make sense that she'd be annoyed by Soraza and especially by her "dad." (+ all the allays) if she now doesn't have that thread of care. (I wonder what her strings would look like to Centross? like how he could see strings between people before?)
Ocie's just entire chaotic yet loyal demeanor is so good RAHHH- her fierce protectiveness of those she loves is great- She messes up a lot- and we know that, but she's doing her very best.
Of course there are other lore favorites- Rae being one. Man's gone through so much. However, that care he has for others and bravery is astounding.
Wolf/Fenris's entire story, Centross's sacrifice, Ulysses' guilt, Ven's wet cat energy, Icarus's overwhelming conviction to fix the mistakes he's made, Athena's honesty, Easton's humor, Jamie's quiet support-
Okay I ranted but overall, I'd say that Ocie, Arisanna, and Wolf are my favorite characters :]
