wasn't gonna show this off til it's done but my friend said i look buff in the first pic. so uh. *stares at keyboard for like five minutes* anyway yah i designed the basic idea behind this a while back - i love snakes and mushrooms and also rot and decay. and nastursiums:3 - then was recommended a super cool, queer tattoo artist who's been making it a thousand times cooler. Still have 2 or 3 more sessions to go (gonna be more guts in snake, more shading/stippling, plus bg from elbow down is gonna be solid black) but am Very Happy so far and so very excited to finally have a sleeve

side note: if you're wondering What About Top Surgery??? Paying for this tattoo isn't offsetting my progress toward that. Tattoos aren't cheap (the artist has actually been giving me a lil discount cuz i'm friend of a friend and also they just. are rad af and go easy on queer folks) but it's not coming out of my funds for the surgery<3

Okay, inspired by @dollsinvogue’s most recent post about the wave 1 refresh dolls, here’s what I’m hoping for! First off, I’m thinking everyone gets at least a few accessories, including a phone, plus there was a hint about a pet which tbh feels a little too similar to monster high but okay MGA forgo subtlety. As for the slime, I’m hoping it’ll be like the og slime rainbow surprise girlies, ie optional, or something like what novi stars used to do with their lava-lamp-esque dolls only in the pets or stands or accessories or whatever lol.

Ruby: my Supreme darling…is supposedly a sneaker head? Lmao okay so that’s why MGA gave her two pairs of heels right. What’s that? Her accessories pack? It’s also heels. MGA come on what the hell. I know jade was supposed to be “girl in sneakers” (and sunny sort of ig) but come ON. Ruby rerelease comes in a supreme insp outfit complete w a Supreme beanie, Supreme shirt, her signature red jeans (with a more bold graphic design to them. More graffiti!!), and a big red puffer. Her shoes are red heeled sneakers, because that’s my compromise w mga, with graffiti art details. Her accessories are spray paint cans in red gold and black, detailing brushes, a can of sealant, and a blank pair of sneakers for YOU to customize (doesn’t come w markers but any washable markers/colors are fine a la color create). Her pet is a red snake named Firebrand a la g3 hissette (wearable).

Poppy: my beachiest beach girl! She’s so sweet and one of my favorites from wave 1. She’s kind of a mix of different styles and brands, the most noticeable for me being her off white “for flying” boots. First of all: poppy now has full body freckles like Victoria. I love that she has blue eyes bc I think they’re lovely w her hair, but brown eyes would also be gorgeous w the overall orange theme. I’d like to keep the monarch butterfly theme bc it’s peak so she’ll keep the butterfly clips and second shoes. She’s definitely getting a beachier boho vibe, starting w a blouse similar to her jh. Tbh maybe even as a blousy flowy dress. Her accessories are of COURSE her monarch headphones bc those are so good and how have we not gotten them, plus a few vinyls of the rainbow high albums and a laptop to DJ from. Her pet is a giant monarch butterfly named Mari, which can clip onto her arm.

Sunny: yellow is my favorite color so I’m so so biased about sunny but she’s my girl and I’d die for her. First of all, new face sculpt: she’s got the AA face sculpt for sure this time. Second of all, new hairstyle. I think she’d be super cute with little twists, including little twist blunt bangs. She styles it in the twin buns still, plus she does her edges under the bangs. She’s also got Lila’s bandaid and stickers for peak kawaii. I like her yellow green eyes but I wish rh had more black girls w brown eyes so i think warm yellow brown would be gorgeous too. Her outfit is an oversized yellow rain slicker, slouchy pastel yellow sweater with sun and moon elbow patches, a chunky decora necklace, bright yellow denim shorts, her rainbow knee highs, and a pair of yellow rain boots. Her accessories are a sketchbook, rainbow colored pencils, a pencil sharpener, an eraser, a laptop with an art program on it, and mini stickers to put on either the laptop or the pages of the sketchbook. Her pet is a little yellow shiba named Kawaii with a pastel rainbow collar.

Jade: my edgy tomboy!! She’s cute in wave 1 but not quite edgy enough (the common complaint w jade) and a little too Billie eilish (the other common complaint w jade). The big t shirt and knee length shorts can stay bc those are rad as hell, plus she’s got some nice refs to anti social social club (less popular than when the dolls released but still a thing). Her new shirt is the same oversized black but with glow in the dark skulls and hearts in addition to the anti sparkle sparkle club. Her shorts are the same graffiti with chains for drawstrings and a little more detailing. Her puffer is cute but I think she’d be cuter w an oversized black and green hoodie, also w the assc logo. Sneakers are a yes but hello Um can you put on socks jade. Even black mesh is better than nothing. I prefer her balenciaga sneakers so more of that lol. Biggest difference will be in the face though bc my girl is a makeup focus w the most boring face lmaoooo. She’s getting a black lip, graphic black eyeliner, and neon green eyeshadow. Her brows are on point and her contour is insane. She still has her beanie in green, but instead of her current hair she has a black side shave and a choppier punker cut. Her accessories are all makeup related, including an eyeshadow palette, compact powder blush, three different lipsticks (red, green, black), mascara, eyeliner, false lashes (non usable),and a full set of makeup brushes. Her pet is a giant black and green tarantula named Billie that can clip onto her shoulder.

Skyler: so sweet, so shy, so underutilized by MGA. I love her denim color theme, esp in her hair, so I’m keeping that for sure. I also love her references to off white, since they’re more focused than poppy’s. This time sky comes w tight coily curly hair and a mixed face sculpt. She’s got high waisted denim bell bottoms w massive bells, almost like JNCO jeans (which would also be a great denim callback), a white cotton cropped turtleneck tank top, and a tailored denim jacket. She still has her off white heels but tbh the shoes are less important for this fit bc the pants are the focal lol. Her accessories are really similar to the rh w5 accessories: a sewing machine and accoutrement. She also has a design sketchbook a la fantastic fashion, a small sewing kit, and three bolts of different denim (light, medium, dark). Her pet is a bright blue bird named Lark that can also clip to her shoulder.

Violet: notorious for constantly giving us nothing, I’m gonna try and finally fix violet. She has the standard Asian face sculpt with purple blue eyes and long straight violet hair w blunt bangs. Her original release felt like her vibe was posh party girl, so I’d like to lean into that with a light purple sequin two piece skirt set, fluffy glittery cropped coat, and glittery party heels. She’s got glittery barrettes holding her hair back behind her bangs and a light purple clutch purse (equally glittery ofc). Her accessories are a selfie stick w ring light for her phone, a laptop with photo editing software, and a larger desktop ring light that actually lights up. Her fluffy white cat Mr. Whiskers finally makes his debut as well, sporting a violet collar.

Red Bellied Black Snake!! They’re know for being very venomous and deadly but also they just lie in the sun a LOT and can be confused for truck tyres and fun lark fact i stepped on one once and it tried to bite me :] i was wearing a gumboot so it was fine but yeah yeah- a glenn snake because of the colouring tbh i think it’d be cool especially if he’s wearing a cool leather jacket as well

Battle Fever J Cobra Monster GIF Batch 1 (Human Size)

So this is a series of GIF's that I wanted to start doing at some point talking about and paying homage to my favorite giant monsters and Mecha from mostly Tokusatsu works and I have decided to start with Super Sentai going in order from the oldest to the newest, highlighting my personal favorite monsters and mecha from the series. You may be asking why am I starting with the third season (Battle Fever J). Well that is because the other two series before this one (Goranger and J.A.K.Q.) did not really have any monsters in them that I particularly liked because I prefer the more cool, mean looking monsters compared to the more sillier ones. I will try to do each monster or mecha in two batches. First batch of GIFs will be the human sized monster scenes and then the second batch will be the giant sized monster or mecha scenes. And for now I am only doing this for Sentai I have seen. I will also try to see how much screen time each monster has. Many Sentai of the Showa era actually did not have the monster of the week doing much until the end of the episode as Sentai back then mainly focused more on side characters and spy shenanigans. I will also list some other info like what episode it appeared in and so on. But anyways, this is the first monster in Sentai that I really liked and honestly I think it’s one of the best Snake monsters they have done. The look of him from the waist up really sells the look and the mean looking face as well is just so rad. Side note, this is a reupload since I noticed the gifs had some parts cut off.

Day 2: game day

I played a game today, so I didn't have much time to hobby. I also forgot to take photos, so you'll have to take my word for it. I built up part of a mortar team. Im still waiting on traitor bits, so they shall languish in unfinished until then. I also replaced the arm on my nurgle icon bearer. Now he mroe closely represents iron hand stracken.

I think he looks good with those "catachan" I wrote about yesterday.

I also bought a leman russ!

Since the photos are minimal, I guess I'll write an after action report.

The opponents list was centered around 3 fully loaded blocks of kataphron breachers. Each had a skitarii screen, and a manipulus. Mine was a mixed guard regiment: 2 fully loaded krieg squads with marshals, the "catachan" squad shown above, a cadian command blob with leontus and two psion teams. The infantry was supported 2 basilisks a mortar team, two russes and a tank commander.

My traitors did not fair well today. I played against new rad bombardment detachment for admech. They drop mortals in your deployment every turn, and if you want to minimize mortals each unit can hit the dirt, but they're battleshocked for the turn. Its super flavorful, but man I both overestimated how lethal those mortals would be and hit the dirt with every one of my units in the first turn. That was a mistake. I shoulda just eaten the mortals and the admech shooting turn one. Everyone was hidden behind buildings. I woulda been fine.

Due to the battleshock my first turn was a dud. Battleshock means no orders, and secondary actions. Shooting did nothing. My opponent was able to setup on points and start scoring.

Turn two was a bit better, but my infantry wasnt able to push onto primary points, and my target priority was all over the place. I, at best, killed a couple of individual kataphrons and some infantry. I was then slapped incredibly hard by admech shooting.

Turn three was the death knell for me. I reinforced my now vaporized catachan squad, and now was able to set them up again in my opponents deployment zone. I set up a krieg squad in position to charge where my catachan were initially vaporized, and I set up my command blob with leontus in position to take the center and right objectives. Then I rolled snake eyes on literally all 3 charges. There my guard stood as they were gunned down mercilessly by the forces of the mechanicus on my opponents turn.

I conceded there, between a misguided call to take first turn letting my entire army get battleshocked, and the scramble causing a lack of focus on targets lead to a complete shutout.

I wish I got photos, but I was too caught up in socializing and generally hanging out with my buddy to reliable photograph.

the lovely @spicedchaiandromeda and i essentially took a man who is mentioned once in a movie, who we never actually see, and turned him into something. (i’ve talked about this a bit before, but bear with me)

for those of you who have seen “for ellen,” it’s james, one of the members from snake trouble that joby talks to on the phone during that one scene. it started because i sent her a link to the song “you will still be mine” from the musical waitress, and said “au where joby is toxic af” and she was like “omfg no that’s perfect.” so we started talking about being in a toxic relationship with joby, and meda told me their personal headcanons about james and like how he fits into snake trouble and the whole joby/james dynamic they created. and everything just shot up from there.

we took some inspiration from the plot line of waitress, and for 3 days andromeda and i have not shut up about this man who literally doesn’t exist anywhere except in our minds. we’ve given him a last name. we’ve assigned a face to a name (essentially picking an actor who we think would play james). we’ve given him a personality by creating scenarios and talking about them and just. oh my god. we are down so bad.

like we love joby, don’t get us wrong. but like im such a big fan of au’s (if you haven’t picked that up yet) because i love exploring every possible scenario and kinda molding characters just SLIGHTLY and kinda opening up new sides of them that maybe need some attention or are just begging to be explored. like i love joby taylor. i literally created a kid for him and i have some good pieces of work for him. however, i like what my close friend and i have created.

all this to say i literally have been trying to finish some joby hc’s just sitting in my drafts but like it’s hard switching back and forth between toxic au joby and the joby we all know and love. it’s crazy😂

idk if we’ll ever go super in depth about our james on tumblr, but like, my friend is so cool and we have some pretty rad conversations if i do say so myself. this storyline we’ve created,,, just… literally so cool in my opinion that this all came from our minds.

Did'jya mean to ask the coolest place I've been? If so, technically, the coldest place has to be back home in Canada. As for coolest- well, I've travelled a lot, but I'm honestly not a big fan of travelling (easy motionsickness n stuff) I know it might not sound all that cool or special, but out of all the places i've been around the world, I think that Vancouver was the best. Simply because when I went out there to live in a cabin for a while, we were out of the city and there was no light pollution which made the stars look beautiful.

Places that are super populated lie toronto aren't as rad as you might think, being out in the middle of nowhere is so much nicer- but maybe that's just me.

The Dominican Republic was pretty cool too, but friggen hot. I don't too well in the heat eheh

OH MY GOD you know me so well my friend i have SO MANY THOUGHTS ON THIS TOPIC!!!!!!! (detailed list below the cut!)

riddle: his virgin skin has never been touched. i think, if he were ever to get one, it would be akin to ppl who get fancy script "faith" tattoos [example] but with like. "rules" or a simple rose or "the queen" or some shit haha. one and done kinda guy

trey: would only get one if cater dragged them to get tats together. not his prerogative, personally! would get like cooking utensils or like a sunny side egg or something nice and simple and subtle and it would be some place where it's always covered with clothes, like his back or ankle or smth

cater: more of a piercings guy than a tattoos guy to me! he gets creative about all of the jewelry and tries a lot of stuff out before he finds what "fits." however, sometimes they do flash deals at the shop and he has a lot of stick and poke tattoos from artists starting out. all of them are just lizards and abstracts or smth. i like to think one of his sisters became an artist in some universe and gave him a butterfly tat :')

deuce: he got ONE tattoo of like a giant koi or a skull or some "punk" thing in a fit of pique and never again. he's sort of embarrassed about it but it is rad ink.

ace: not really the type! a couple of cheeky tramp stamps, maybe, of shit like cambells soup or just whatever he was thinking about that day lol

leona: i really don't think he has any other than the first! i don't even think he wanted that one lol. just sort of right place right time. he strikes me as the type of guy who likes to play that it didn't hurt at all but he went home sore af and struggled not to scratch it as it healed lmfao

ruggie: his skin is pure and unmarred...LOL. honestly he's just a cheapskate. he could go for some cool bone structure tats on someone else's a dime. a tramp stamp here or there for flavor, etc.

azul: zuzu is not the type for tats inherently but i'm really addicted to either A) the yakuza/mafia vibes where it's like a status/rite of passage type of thing or B) the "mer forms are reflected in ink format" variant. in this vein, i think he has a lot of artsy, flowy, and obviously nautical/octopus-themed tattoos. mostly on his legs even though he wears a full three-piece suit every day all the time lol. his wrists are for the twins to see ONLY

f&j: tattoos from their necks all the way down to their toes. similarly to azul, i like the eel + octopus vibes for them, as sort of azul's "claim" or what have you. idk it's just super cute to me i'm really married to this!!!

jade has more piercings. floyd has more tats. but they are absolutely just COVERED to me idc that's their vibe. [go check this pixiv log out] for some delicious yakuza-esque tweels tats you will not regret it

jamil: more prone to henna tattoos than anything permanent. would go for geometric designs and/or weird nature things like dead bird carcasses or snakes shedding their skin, etc. i think he would look so beautiful and amazing with tats and would give me all the more reason to never talk to him because he's so stunning hfksf

kalim: i'm not sure if his white marks are supposed to be tattoos?? but i see them that way lol. they're for status and traditional so def the way he rolls. i think he'd be down for plenty of impulse tattoos but jamil has to be like STOP lol. there's more at play for him than just desire for ink hahaha

I'm 3 for 3 with the #3 asks!! Continuing the theme of one-album 90s grunge groups from my last ask, Snake River Conspiracy! I have also been listening to them while mopping at work. They were a recommendation from my rad step-grandpa and I'm super interested to see what new music they release next year as they're reforming!

10. Something that made you cry this year?

I've had quite a few close friends move away for various reasons, primarily university, this year so I've had a couple hard goodbyes and lonely nighttime spirals that got to me. But I love a good cry! And it feels nice to have people and things in my life that I care about enough to get weepy over :) + an honorable mention for crying rewatching the X-files pilot because it is not the first or the last time that will happen. Every single time I watch it it just hits me with how much I love it and I get teary <3

23. If you could send a message to yourself back on the first day of the year, what would it be?

Oh man, this is hard. In trying to reflect I have to say that Jan 1st me would be so happy with where I am now, and that makes me feel so lovely and confident!! I don't quite know how to articulate it because I don't want to spoil the whole year for her but I want her to know we get through it and go through some tough things and some big things but also have a load of fun! Also buy more of your favourite facial scrub because there's a shortage at literally every store now so I wish I'd stocked up.
