I was thinking abt Penguin and Shachi (as always lol) while preparing lunch and something clicked in my head...

It is mentioned in the novel that they developed amazing cooking skills after living with Wolf, and it makes so much sense,,,,

They were being treated like slaves by Shachi's uncle and aunt, and didn't had any other food than bread and water for a long time, months maybe. After escaping to the forest, the only thing they could cook were the preys they hunted.

But when they moved with Wolf, Law and Bepo, especially after Wolf made the police arrest Shachi's relatives, I think they finally felt free enough. Free to do whatever they wanted, and that included eating whatever food they craved for. No more bread.

That encouraged them to experiment in the kitchen, wanting to achieve every flavor they never got to experience while they were being abused...
