I took a shower in complete darkness and I gotta say as a paranoid autistic person it was wack! You'd expect to have a sensory overload(which showers are already overwhelming cause the noise of the water) but it was weirdly the opposite??

My senses plummeted. My hearing became oddly quiet(I had music at full volume but it weirdly got quieter over time) and my depth perception sucked(well more than normal anyway)! I was paranoid the whole time and having to calm myself down throughout.

The entire time I was worried someone would appear. I already don't like the dark(I literally have Christmas lights on in my room 24/7 only turning them off if I have a migraine) weirdly I had to keep reminding myself the the room was dark I couldn't see so that would mean someone else couldn't see either

All in all weird experience! Would likely forget and do it again!

It is a very sensual thing to touch the freshly-woven fabric on the loom. It is stretched taut - maybe only half-done, the shuttle still full of yarn - and the threads lie flat, and I can run the tips of my fingers across the fabric, along the weft, and it is somehow smooth-and-rough, as my fingers mostly touch the warp - weft hides from me, tries to push the warp to the front, to do all the hard work of being slick, or sturdy, or silky.

I run my fingers across it again, and I can feel all the little imperfections. They are there and they will be there, inherent to the handmade nature of the cloth on the loom.

Another run, the warp threads are straining, I put them under so much tension, and I can feel each and every one of them, individual little tensions giving and springing back as I press.

Weaving is so different from other crafts I practice. Nothing produces the same kind of feeling. Crochet is bumpy, knit is wavy and bumpy, embroidery is irregular. But weaving, especially plain weave, is just so... smooth.
